Eric Clapton With All Apologies To Keith Levene I'm discussing how Dave Insurgent and I collaborated on songs, one in particular was "One Holy Bible" which we played at our very first show back in '81, as an encore where Dave hadn't even come up with any lyrics. Eventually we worked on it, didn't play it until it became the song you hear on Vol II and originally I envisioned those four notes as some Jah Wobble bass line that P.I.L. would use on something like "Careering" or "Low Life" but David had other ideas, and it took him a while. Now I'm the one who was mad ready to play it straight away and see what we could have done with those four descending notes but Dave was the thoughtful one who made that song somewhat epic, at least in my eyes, by working on it for years. It's definitely one of my favorite songs to play because of the tribal drumming.
