Hello sorry for tagging. I am very sick, my asthma is at its maximum level, my nose freezes, I have no medicine or food. I am in bad shape financially, I am a black disabled, who uses multiple medications, I pay for my food and lodging

Unfortunately I do not have all the resources to keep me safe, that is why I need your help, whatever you can contribute to me will be of great help.

Unfortunately for all of us this day has me in a sour mood.

This is the sixth “I’m sorry to tag you” message I’ve gotten as an ask in my in box in the last three weeks.

It’s always the same format - two to three paragraphs of an unnamed ailment and how you need to provide for a dependent of some variety, or how unique and terrible the mystery affliction is.

Every single one has led to a pinned post with the same layout, the same cadence, the same vernacular and the same 0/xxxx dollars or 145/xxxx dollars to a goal that is large, but not unobtainable. A small donation would make a difference. (Please note for legitimate asks small donations do add up, but the goal on scam asks is meant to look doable.)

Usually, if there’s any history on your blog it’s disjointed or little more than posts from currently trending tags. (It also doesn’t generally go back more than a few months cause your accounts keep getting removed for being bots and scammers).

Someone doesn’t need to share themselves entirely to be worthy of random internet charity, but there is a vibe of sincerity that separates the buzz word scammers and bots from the legitimate humans.

Because I prefer to believe all who ask have a need I haven’t publicly replied to any of these until now, just reporting and blocking and moving on. But the pattern is so aggravatingly definable at this point I am compelled to share as a PSA to those who are following me.

Take note of the pinned post and keep your eyes peeled for similar. If you aren’t sure, you’re welcome to ask me - I’m getting good at where the line is for better or worse, and don’t mind helping.

don’t use pimple patches!!! literally every time i use one i’m left w a dark spot and it pisses me off so bad

i think using a low percentage salicylic acid serum as a spot treatment could work, unless you’re allergic to aspirin. PSA if you’re allergic to aspirin don’t use salicylic acid it will fuck you up.

I wanted to let y’all know that I’ve now moved most of my work, drabbles, one-shots and oc stories over to wattpad. It’s much easier to navigate and organise my content on there and everything that was here is, or will eventually be there. PSA - How to Start

The Quick Guide To Interacting (Even If You’re Anxious)

My biggest piece of advice to RPer’s both new and old is don’t be afraid to reach out and talk to others first.

I have seen a lot of blogs come and go, and a lot of people expressing frustration about how they don’t get enough interaction, or how people never send them asks, or reply to their starters. The get disheartened, and many people stop writing as a result. And my thought is always the same:

Did you send an ask? Did you reply to an open starter? Did you make any attempt to interact with them or are you both just sitting on your thumbs um-ing and ah-ing and waiting for someone else to decide to message you first?

I don’t intend for this to sound mean at all, I understand that some people can be anxious (I certainly can be), but I also genuinely believe that a lot of anxiety is sprung from the lack of open communication. When I first started out I was one of the people who kind of just… posted a lot and hoped my followers would start sending stuff? And that didn’t happen. It made me feel really shitty and I lost a lot of confidence in myself and my writing. And that was wrong, both as a thought process and as an overarching mentality. My writing isn’t bad, my characterization isn’t bad, and I’m not a bad person. The only issue was that someone at some point needs to take the first step and say hello!

So! How do you say hello?

Step 1: See an ask meme on someones blog that you really want to befriend them, send them one or two questions! Read their answer! And then (and here’s the tricky part) leave a little comment in the replies of that post to tell them what part of their reply you liked, you can even leave a little IC reply of your muse reacting to something. - Now you’ve broken the ice! The mun knows who you are (and if you are mutuals) and will probably be pretty grateful that you sent an ask! You can now send more, and they might even send you a few back! Now you’re interacting!

(Note: If they haven’t posted a meme in a while, you can scroll back through their blog and find one, or think up one of your own - send in the QUESTION, not the icon. Treat it as a stand alone. People love writing about their muses, so you just need to create the opportunity for them to do so!)

Step 2: Now that you’re interacting, you can try to send an IC ask (You can do this in step 1 too, but if you’re more shy you can wait for step 2!) - whether its from a meme or not. Starting from a question means that you are already in the middle of a conversation with the muses, and it helps to make things flow more smoothly. Don’t be stressed if the thread dies after a reply or two - it’s not meant to last forever, that’s okay! It’s meant to allow the two of you to get a feel of each other and your writing styles. Have fun with it!

Step 3: Send an IM. This might feel like the biggest step, but do not worry. A compliment, I find, is the kindest and nicest way to introduce yourself ooc. I know that I for one am always very flattered if someone takes the time to find something about my recent reply/writing/characterization/hcs and share that with me. A little ‘Hello! I laughed so much at xxxx line you wrote’ or ‘I love your hc on xxxx!’ is such a nice message to get. Being nice is the best way to make friends and it can lead to more RP in the future.

Note: If you don’t ‘click’ don’t worry. You’re not always going to be best friends with everyone. Leave it be. That doesn’t mean that they don’t appreciate your asks, and won’t send you some, and it doesn’t mean that you can never write together. It just means that you don’t have perfect chemistry. If you don’t click it is still a very nice idea to send people memes and questions when they appear on your dash. The community thrives off of participation! So participate and you’ll find the good karma comes around.

Furthermore, don’t be dissuaded by seeing others interact with their friends on the dashboard. Some people have been writing together for years, and its presumptuous to assume you will have the same friendship in only a few days. It’s not elitist for someone to have fun with their own bestie.

And sometimes you just don’t get along with someone at all. The chemistry isn’t there. It doesn’t mean either of you are bad people or that your writing is bad - it just means you aren’t compatible. Let it go. You’ll find your people.

A final disclaimer: read peoples rules and blogs - they are there to help facilitate interaction!

If there’s a rule saying ‘I only write with mutuals’, then wait to become a mutual to send or request something IC. If there’s a rule saying ‘I don’t write XYZ’ then don’t send an ask about XYZ.

And read their blogs because they might have a list of open starters, a wishlist, or even a plot generator pre-prepared! Use this to your advantage - they are telling you want they are interested in writing! That’s a huge hint :D

This is kinda hilarious in its own right but I remember seeing a post once where someone made an analogy about seeing fandom drama they're not aware of and stuff is like them playing in a small sandbox with a couple of their friends and when they look up, students are throwing shit at each other and the building is on fire and ever since then I have not stopped thinking abt this analogy

It is such a Twst-esque experience for me, because every now and then, I'd go to someone's blog to check their tags on their reblog for my post or sumn, and I'd be a little bored and scroll thru their blog in a totally non creepy way and then occasionally I'd see posts like

And I'd just be like *pikachu meme face* idk where the fuck you guys have been but this fandom has genuinely been one of the most supportive fandoms I've been in, although I mainly lurk on twitter I still post daily here, and theres been a few bad apples but none that I have not immediately blocked so clearly there is sumn up with our experiences here

I think the key is to simply curate your own experience...like...idk abt you but the moment I find an environment toxic or tiring in any way I get the fuck out, I'm sorry to all my friends in that fandom or space or whatever but if you're my friend in name and yet I still feel uncomfortable when ur there ur probably part of the problem goodbye haha!!

You have to set limits for urself, like if someone has hurt me or made me uncomfortable once, I don't bother talking much to them again if I can help it. People on the internet are all doing their own thing, and sometimes them just being themselves is not something you will vibe with and that is ok. That is not their fault or your fault, but you can choose to not engage with them.

PSA you dont have to be mean for someone to block you or dislike you, half my block list are literally ppl who whose opinions or habits I dont agree with. Artist tags Riddle on an Azul post? Block. Writer puts too much text and doesnt use Read More? Block. Someone makes a slightly creepy comment and I know that we will never cross paths if I dont say anything to them first? Block anyways. Even after I've moved onto another fandom and forgotten why I've blocked them, I keep them blocked.

There's many things to be stressed abt and fandom drama is just not one of them. I feel like everyone has the need to reply to something that bothers them and its tempting to get your shit out there but also it's kinda ur fault when things go south tbh, because they never asked for ur opinion (even IF their post is something you consider morally wrong. If they're a disgusting person to you, all the more reason you should block. By engaging them and making callout posts for them to help others, what kinda savior complex do you even have...). Whenever I see posts I get angry about, I never respond to it. I seethe on my private accs or rant on it in a separate post, and I DON'T tag it so it never reaches the fandom. It is what it is, a passing moment of anger about a 2D character.

At first I started this as a tiny musing but then it got long...oops. Anyways my point isnt to attack any of you guys for doing any of the above, I'm just saying that you seem like you're going through a tough time, it's not mentally good for you, and you should curate your own experience instead of delve yourself deeper into the drama. You're never responsible for someone else's happiness (OR their "cancellation" lmao) so please do yourself a favor and just stay away from it. I promise the twst fandom can be a lovely experience if you just Did Not Bother

hello!

i wrote a quick psa this monday, but because i’ve still been online after (and will still be this afternoon), i’m just going to make a quick clarification post to kind of.. explain what’s going on.

it hurts me to say, because it is literally all i want to fully and wholeheartedly be dedicating all my energy to freaking about this finale with y’all. i mean, they’re having a freaking baby!

BUT: i am going through something incredibly tough. i don’t feel ready to speak about it with everyone yet, if you know me and ask me privately i might be able to say something but it is also a very challenging thing to speak about. all i can say is that this is no lightweight thing, and although everyone tells me it will be completely fine, i wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. this is a living nightmare and mentally recovering from this will take a long, long time. (there’s no danger for my life though, promise. this isn’t covid-related and everyone in my family is safe)

there will be two really hard things happening that i have to deal with - one of them is friday morning and the hardest is on saturday morning. because b99 airs at 2.30 a.m. friday for me, i will not watch it before the thing friday morning and i will have all internet turned off on my phone aside from messenger, pretty much. i will then (hopefully) feel able to watch the finale on friday afternoon.

i know everyone is busy getting excited about the finale right now, but if any of you can spare a thought, a kind message, a prayer (i’m not religious but right now, anything is truly appreciated), it means everything.

i will be online until this evening a couple hours before the finale. if you want to send me an encouraging message after (please no spoilers!!!!), you can send them via @johnny-and-dora and she’ll be able to pass them on to me. 

i know it might be weird of me to write this post, but i feel like i have to say something, partly because i’m devastated i won’t be able to enjoy the finale with you when it’s airing and partly because i can’t believe this is even happening. but i also truly need your thoughts right now. you guys are my friends and my family and your love and thoughts means the world always, but especially right now.

everyone says it will be fine but it is the scariest goddamn thing i have ever gone through and it really, really puts things into perspective.
