Financial HCs for the G1 Transformers!

This is for the part all pre/post-war, but I still thought it was funny.

Optimus

Op is pretty responsible, and was decently stable. Not super stable, but not frequently worrying about food or anything kind of unstable. The only thing he’s bad at budgeting is when it comes to purchasing interface amenities.

Elita

Elita’s like Optimus, pretty responsible and stable. Again, only irresponsible with interface amenities, and hers is usually on restraints and collars, compared to his more on toys and other items. Usually Optimus is the one who spends more at a store floating around, where she’s in and out with exactly what she needed/wanted.

Jazz

For being a career criminal who stole money for a living pre-war, he’s not the best at budgeting. He sees one thing that he thinks he should get Prowl, and all responsibility goes out the window. So pre-war, he’s neither financially stable nor responsible, and is only stable post-war bc he’s got Prowl around and pretty much everyone is pretty stable.

Prowl

Prowl is stable, but isn’t super good at budgeting at first, even though Barricade taught him how to do it properly. Ultimately he gets better eventually, and by FOP he’s really good at taxes. And post-war he’s the one doing them (bc Jazz commits tax evasion on the regular-).

Starscream

Starscream is incredibly financially stable, and responsible. He is a prince born into old money, and when he went to the science academy he was cut off and forced to budget a small allowance every month, so he learned very fast how to properly manage money.

He does taxes (tax him more, for all he cares. He loves taxes), he is very cost aware and efficient (this does not mean he’s cutting corners, he’s just well aware of what he’s spending, and how it will affect him later down the line, when he gets things.), and is not typically known for blowing his money for fun. Sometimes he’s a small spending mood, most of the time he’s pretty stingy with anything >10-20$.

Megatron and Soundwave

These two have no sense of financial responsibility. Combined they have less than 50¢, and Starscream is betting the approximate number is 42¢.

They’re both broke, and don’t know how to handle any amount of money. Star can barely give them a 20$ bill without them immediately sending it down the drain, they’re that bad.

one of my fav hcs is how i exactly interpret this dynamic to be more like [here]

other than that:

- Bumblebee would claim staring or learning about earth creatures is lame and loser activity, but he sees prowl do it often and gets an unknowing urge to do the same, he doesnt know why, but he somehow ends up slowly and surely learn so much not only from prowl but from other sources too

- Prowl is a sweet tooth, so is bee. id imagine they steal each others goods, then claim it sucks while chewing on them

- They may biker each other but there were times where they accidentally got close or flirty during banters. Bee is the one to remember those with pride

- They like to race in empty places, like these 2 get competitive if they want to! Especially in race, somehow a way to bond

- Oh and kind of in videogames too, but prowls like jotaro aka fucking sucks at playing games in general, however bee helped him learn at least the basics of game mechanics or controllers

- They didn't know that they r in love with each other 💀 they dont even know what love is so imagine how stupid they sounded saying shit like "Everytime i saw prowl my spark would start pulsing faster: i think its of pure hatred". Only later in series theyd even learn to accept their feelings

- They unintentionally pick each others speech or stims, unfortunately. Bumblebee says shit like "homunculus" while prowl cannot stop himself from slipping and says "skibidi", which drives him more mad than before

- ADHD x Autism

That time where someone calls the cops at the local arcade to deal with some troublemakers starting a fight, only for the younglings there to bully him into sticking around once the issue is resolved. They really, really want to see that undefeatable SNK boss beaten, pretty please? And Prowl just gets (is forced by his captain) the afternoon off, using his battlecomputer to rack up high scores while all the kids crowd and hoot around him

That time where one of the schools received a really shitty teacher, and the kids would do everything in their power to cause trouble during his lesson, all the way to the point where the headmistress has to call Prowl in on numerous occasions. Then when the crappy teacher is finally sent away, the kids are now sad that Prowl is no longer coming by as often anymore, so they keep causing trouble just to try make the school call the enforcers. When Prowl, the school and the precinct finally catches on, he had to give them a very stern lecture as well as the Disappointed Expression, which made them collectively go 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 at him. He now spends two days each decaorn directing traffic outside the gates when school ends.

ahsusjsj this scenario is so funny because Prowl is SO beloved and he has no idea how to deal with that... Most people fucking hate him, you know? So to have all these kids gawk at him... he just begrudgingly demotes himself into a crossing guard during school days because the kids Love seeing him. They always greet him nicely like he's just part of the squad and he does reprimand them for getting familiar with and bothering an officer of the law, but they just laugh because they know he doesn't really mean that.

Megatron as well wrote multiple poetry books & thinkpieces,but theyre all under pseudonyms so it wont touch his harsh persona but still a lot of ppl & some his colleagues know its him lmao ,starscream is a fashion model no question asked.

All of soundwave entrance themes r produced by him & they slap af wich is why he uploads all of his songs to spotify after the constant demand of his fans

Sunstreaker & sideswipe r the most vicious fighters of the new gen, w/ strong stage presense & an array of fighting styles under their belts had made them known as the terror twins.however it seems they had a falling out of sort,wich they both refuse to disclose the reason to the news only declaring theyll gonna go w/ new partners.

Shokwave used to be a wrestler at the peak of his career,but he got into an accident that left him disfigured & unable to fight.so to not end up in the streets,he pulled away from the public eye completely to work as a promoter organizing the events & managing talents,leaving the circumstances around his accident a mystery

& to end on another bad note,grimlocks career was abruptly ended when he got brain damage in the ring,but instead of sufficient support he got dropped out by the company wich sparked an outrage among the audience & fellow wrestlers esp his team "the dinobots",suspecting it was the doing of their elusive executive shockwave.

a poorly fleshed out fic im trying to write where optimus survived unicron and comes back a shell of his former self but so many people expect him to just act like nothing happen. surprisingly, the only one who doesn't and befriends him in this au is starscream who also survived in this au (like he does all of mine) and he's very changed. those two become friends but he slowly sees optimus breaking.

then there's prowl; prowl who cannot understand why optimus, being given this second chance can't get his shit together. he makes mistakes, he is a shadow of what he was and it infuriates prowl until one day he just lashes out at optimus for doing something so stupid. signing papers wrong, unable to attend important meetings with other planets and delegates. when he does that, optimus just breaks down. he's been holding so much stuff in, not only since he's been back but since he's been a prime. it's difficult because prowl feels so many ways about him, he's been angry at him for years, hated him yet loved him all the same. when optimus came back and was basically broken, prowl used that as a chance to get back at him for a lot of pent up anger he's felt. now however, he just feels like shit, seeing his friend crumble. he doesn't see optimus, he doesn't see a prime or a leader of Cybertron, he sees orion, a broken orion.

long story short, he convinces optimus to fall out of politics and optimus comes and lives with prowl. optimus is withdrawn, away from society but he and prowl form a relationship and are eventually cojunxed. prowl takes care of optimus and in general he gets happy. prowl and starscream hATE each other but starscream is one of the ones allowed to visit...

Santa Tell Me

He enjoys it partially because it’s nice sounding, and is just fun. A lot more so because he can be seductive, but subtly, and while being festive, and it’s fun and bouncy along with it. Win-win-win! Another one he’s quite fond of is probably Frosty the Snowman. He enjoys the musical tale.

Elita

Elita doesn’t have a favorite.

But if she had to pick, she would choose “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, entirely because like clockwork, Hot Rod sings along, and she loves to hear her sweet sparkling sing. Usually she’ll start to take her work into the living room just to listen to him sing. If she had to pick a second favorite, she’d go with “Santa Tell Me”, solely because she finds it amusing (among other feelings) to bear witness to the spectacle Optimus puts on as he sings along.

If she had to pick one that had no association to her love for her Conjux and sparkling? Then it would be “Feliz Navidad”, because she appreciates that it’s partially in a dialect so close to her native one. She actually sings along to this one, and in Nyonian! Oppy and Roddy love it too, because they love to hear her sing too. It may not be American Idol or anything, but they love hearing her sing regardless.

Hot Rod

Hark the Herald Angels Sing

He’s always loved the song as long as he can remember. He doesn’t know why he finds it so appealing. He just does. It sounds wonderful, and there’s something about it that makes him feel warm and fuzzy inside. It’s not even that he’s overly religious (even as an adult, when he does become properly religious), he just really loves it.

He also likes “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, because he does sort of see himself in Rudolph, feeling very ostracized, just like Rudolph was, and hopes one day he’ll suddenly be loved by people just like Rudolph. It’s that he relates to the fictional reindeer, more than anything.

Jazz, Prowl, & Bluestreak

Merry Christmas - Elton John & Ed Sheeran

The three all love this song, and it’s their favorite. It’s the warmth, the understanding that yes they’ve been through some tough shit, the reminder that despite it right now they get to relax, that at least they have each other. It’s how they get a little burst of hope for good things to come. It’s the way it keeps them all grounded and focused on the now. It makes them feel very familial, and they all develop an urge to be nestled close together. It’s got a nice sound, good lyrics, and they just in general love it.

Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer

He likes to imagine it’s instead “Skyfire got run over by a reindeer”, and laughs at Starscream’s incredible displeasure and exasperation with him singing it like that.

“🎵 Skyfire got run over by a reindeer, walking home from our house Christmas Eve, he can say there’s no such thing as Santa, but as for me and Soundwave: we believe. 🎶”

“Can you please, for the love of god, sing to the actual lyrics, like a normal person?”

“No. ❤️ >:)”

He is also in a debate every year trying to convince Soundwave to make a rendition of that, and that it’s worth Starscream divorcing him for it.

For the record: pretty much everyone else also finds this funny as well. Star is really the only one complaining.

Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer

The chaos of it fuels him. Christmas is supposed to be nice and serene, but this one song is ridiculously chaotic, and he loves it. He finds the shenanigans and how they make it out like Santa hit grandma with a car and it’s a hit and run, all absolutely hilarious. He also loves “You’re a Mean One, Mr.Grinch”. Again, it’s fairly chaotic, silly, and in general not taking it super seriously. Give him more of these, please and thank you!

She just finds it fun! It sounds nice, and she enjoys dancing and singing along. She doesn’t realize any suggestive implications until she’s older, but once she does god help us, because she is going to make it everyone’s problem. After she hits her teen years, Megatron never has a day free of it in December.

Soundwave

I Hear Sleigh Bells

It’s Christmas and it scratches the itch in his brain: win-win. It’s really not any deeper than that for him. Same goes for “Christmas Time is Here”, pretty much the same reason for him, but one is loud and one is quiet.

Starscream

Jingle Bell Rock

He enjoys the nice tune, fun beat, and the festive lyrics, and it urges him to keep himself up and moving. He doesn’t know why exactly he holds such a love for it, but he does. He also enjoys “It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas”, but more from the perspective of someone who prefers to just watch, watching their child decorate the Christmas tree, which is usually how he celebrates the Winter Solstice, anyway. He quietly sings along with Soundwave, while he watches Dragstrip and Astro decorate the tree.

On Megatron singing “Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer”: he is perpetually exasperated with him using the song to take shots at Skyfire and call him trash, but he does admittedly find it just a little funny, and occasionally sings it himself when Skyfire has particularly annoyed him. As much as he disapproves the idea, he wouldn’t divorce Soundwave over it - perhaps he’d scold him, and be irritated for a while, but he wouldn’t divorce him. But he’s not going to say that, as not to encourage his conjux.

Astralwave

A Soldier’s King

It’s probably just because it’s the one carol Starscream sings, and he’s sang it to him and Dragstrip, sat in the window seat with them curled up to him, every year. Likely just sentiment, but the lyrics do bring him a sort of calm, and it sounds lovely.
