Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park

It's May long weekend and our camper isn't quite ready for the season yet so we didn't get to spend our May long at a campground this year. Though we did hit up a Provincial Day park, we spent our Sunday afternoon at Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park in Bonshaw PEI.

This day park has a cute small wooden themed park with slides and swings! It also many trails to walk or mountain bike in.

After a quick play at the park our family went for an hour walk on the trails and got caught in the rain but I actually found it kind of fun walking in the rain!

My 14 year old and 7 year old both said that their favorite part of this park was leaving! (They were not to fond of being all wet!)

📍Pukaskawa camping …. While I only stayed one night I’m glad I had the chance to camp here. I landed up getting the very last campsite that late afternoon …. I always enjoy visiting Pukaskawa even for a day … Hattie Cove beach is one of my favourites to just sit and be still. The water here is always freezing cold so I never even try to go for a swim. One summer my son did just that, and ran into the cold lake for a swim. Another road trip this summer, petroglyphs provincial park. It has the largest known concentrations of Indigenous rock carvings (petroglyphs) in Canada, depicting turtles, snakes, birds, humans and more; this sacred site is known as “The Teaching Rocks”. The forest also had some of the most unique flora we’ve seen to date. American Red Squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) in Algonquin Provincial Park, February 2018.
