I woke up very early this morning, around 3:47 am, and instinctively grabbed my phone to check the time. While I'm not usually a Facebook app user, the numerous notifications piqued my curiosity, so I opened it. The first thing I saw was this question, which made me laugh out loud and completely derail my coffee-making routine! Naalala ko lng kasi ❌ ko rito hahha sobrang higpit.

Freedom and independence are my 🌬️oxygen. Clingy or possessive people suffocate me. I crave open-mindedness and progressive thinking – anyone stuck in their ways is a turn-off. Di kasi ako matalino 🫠 kaya bet ko yung tinuturoan ako. Charot! Hahaha maka hanap nga ng teacher jan. Joke!

Let's challenge each other's ideas! I readily admit I'm always learning, and someone who shares that curiosity is a must. Shallowness is a bore, so bring on the depth and substance!Tanda ko dati, may niyaya rin ako mag museum, sagot ba naman niya sa’kin “ Dito nalang tayo sa sala, nood ng TV!” 😫🤣😭

The Power of Positive Thinking

Ada yang menarik yang terulang dua kali hari ini, di rumah dan di kantor. Dan jadilah materi di slide ini Haha. Ada sebuah ember yang berisi air keruh dan kotor. Ketika diisi dengan air bersih dari kran, maka kotoran yang ada di dalam ember itu akan naik ke atas dan keluar. Lama-lama air di dalamnya menjadi lebih bersih dan bening. Kalau continue diisi terus, maka yang tersisa di dalam ember adalah air yang benar-benar bersih. Hilang sudah kotoran dan kekeruhan tadi. Sama halnya dengan ini : Air yang kotor di dalam ember = kondisi jiwa/pikiran kita yang dipenuhi emosi negatif. Pegel, grundel, sebel, dan hal-hal nggak baik lainnya. Kran air bersih = pikiran yang positif, hal-hal baik yang bisa kita kontrol dari dalam diri. Memang nggak semua hal bisa kita kontrol seperti yang kita inginkan, yg kita mau. Bahkan mngkin ada omongan orang-orang di luar sana yang membuat grundel ae seharian atau mungkin berhari-hari. Ada hal-hal yang tidak sejalan dengan rencana. Kecewa sama manusia udah sering kan? Nah, kalau kita bisa membersihkan itu dengan menyalakan kran air bersih bernama positif thinking tadi, maka isi ember hati dan pikiran juga akan jadi bersih. Pikiran tenang, hati pun senang. ang ang ang. Sesimpel itu ngomongnya tapi mungkin tak semudah itu melakukannya. Tapi mari kita coba. Lifelong Learner

Setelah menikah rutinitasku tak lagi sama. Banyak adaptasi baru yang kulakukan sebab tambahnya peran sebagai istri. Mungkin bagi sebagian orang peran perempuan sebelum dan setelah menikah tidak jauh berbeda tapi bagiku aku benar-benar dipaksa oleh keadaan untuk mampu memaksimalkan peran. Misalnya, sebelum menikah aku tidak berteman akrab dan hangat dengan urusan dapur. Jikapun aku membantu ibu, aku hanya membantu sekedarnya dan yang paling mudah. Jikapun aku telah berkali-kali bertanya tentang perbedaan jahe, lengkuas, kunyit, kunci, ketumbar, merica dan meminta untuk ditunjukkan tetap saja besok sudah lupa lagi. Seringkali aku membatin, "Besok kalau aku nikah gimana ya? Aku bisa masak ikan ngga ya? Aku bisa bersihin ayam ngga ya?" Tapi pikiran itu nihil membuatku berteman dengan dapur. Hingga menikah mengubah lebih banyak dari diriku. Iya, aku akhirnya mau tidak mau suka tidak suka secara sadar tetap ingin memaksimalkan peran sebagai istri dan ibu dengan menyediakan makanan bergizi untuk keluargaku sehingga pelan-pelan aku belajar perdapuran. Ini baru satu hal, tapi aku tidak akan membahas ini lebih dalam.

Setelah menikah, menyandang peran sebagai istri dan ibu membuatku banyak merenungi diri. Tentu aku tidak ingin sama seperti ketika masih sendiri. Setelah menikah aku hidup dengan suami dan anak-anakku maka aku ingin tetap aktif dan produktif meski di rumah saja. Aku juga ingin tetap berdaya yang bahagia meski dari rumah saja. Aku resign dari tempat kerjaku sebelum menikah. Lalu, setelah menikah aku merantau ikut suami. Aku sempat bekerja di daerah domisili baruku hanya 1 bulan sebelum keadaan tubuhku melemah. Aku memutuskan resign lagi dengan alasan hamil muda. Sejak saat itu aku menghabiskan banyak waktuku untuk memikirkan jika nantinya bayi ini lahir ke dunia dan menambah peranku sebagai ibu.

Aku ingin menjadi ibu bagaimana dan aku ingin mendidik anakku bagaimana.

Keresahan ini yang menemukan ujungnya bahwa aku ingin belajar. Aku ingin menjadi ibu pembelajar. Aku mencari tempat belajar dan bertemulah dengan salah satu komunitas untuk para perempuan yang digagas oleh Pak Dodik dan Bu Septi. Ibu Profesional, namanya. Di sini aku menemukan banyak wadah dan tema belajar sehingga cukup memudahkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas diri.

Konsekuensi dari mengikuti sebuah komunitas belajar adalah kesungguhan dan komitmen. Terkadang aku menyisipkan jadwal belajar pada daily plan namun tak jarang pula aku sengaja mencari tema tertentu di youtube untuk kudengarkan sendiri meskipun dengan menyambi menyelesaikan domestik.

Aku memiliki cita-cita sebagai ibu pembelajar. Maka, segala hal yang dirasa cocok dengan apa yang ingin aku tahu dan atau yang menjadi keresahan ataupun sesuatu yang aku tertarik aku akan mengambil kesempatan itu, insyaaAllah.

Semoga Allah ridhoi proses belajar ini.

Karena dengan ilmu aku menjadi tenang.

Bagaimana Mengenali Diri?

Apapun peran yang dijalani saat ini, proses mengenali diri adalah salah satu hal penting yang perlu dilakukan setiap orang. Ada beberapa langkah yang aku dapatkan dari materi yang disampaikan oleh Bunda Elly Risman. Yang pointnya lebih aku tarik ke refleksi diri sebelum ikatan pernikahan. Dan ini dia 4 langkah itu:

Bersyukur

Kita mengucap syukur sama Allah atas apa yang telah terjadi dalam hidup. Allah tempatkan kita di posisi sekarang, menjadi seorang anak misalnya, punya pekerjaan, banyak teman baik, dst. Kita menyadari bahwa kasih sayang Allah itu luar biasa besarnya. Membuat jurnal syukur cukup membantu dalam proses ini.

2. Bergeser

Ketika merasa hidup tidak baik-baik saja, coba deh geser pola pikir ke arah yang lebih positif. Berangkat dari rasa syukur di poin pertama tadi, saat kondisi jiwa kita terguncang atau ditampar realita yang tidak kita inginkan, maka kita bisa melihat sisi lain yang akan membuka pikiran. Tidak muter-muter pada masalah yang sama.

Misalnya, "Alhamdulillah ya, aku udah punya kerjaan sekarang. Ada teman-teman yang habis lulus kuliah masih pada bingung nyari kerja. Aku tinggal masuk kantor aja setiap hari."

"Alhamdulillah, setiap hari aku ketemu orang-orang yang berusaha mendekat pada Al-Qur'an, di tengah kesibukan mereka masih menyempatkan waktu belajar mengaji dan menghafal Al-Qur'an."

3. Look in

Lihat ke dalam diri kita sendiri. Memang aku ini gimana orangnya? Karakteristiknya gimana? Apakah aku telah menjalankan sebaik-baiknya peran sebagai hamba Allah belum? Sebagai anak, jadi anak yang gimana? Sudah berbakti sama kedua orang tua?

Di poin ketiga ini, kita akan menemukan sebetulnya aku ini siapa? Aku mau ngapain di dunia ini? dan Aku harus gimana? siapa aku sekarang. Ini yang menjadi PR setiap hari secara rutin yang perlu kita cari.

4. Proses

Nggak ada sesuatu yang instan. Pada umumnya, orang cukup susah menemukan siapa dirinya sendiri karena tidak terbiasa melihat ke dalam diri sendiri, look in. Kadang terlalu sering look out, melihat ke luar. Point pentingnya, latihlah diri terlebih dahulu melihat jauh ke dalam diri, kita kenal siapa diri kita, kita kenal Allah, baru kita look out. Jangan terbalik.

Bab mengenal diri sendiri memang tidak akan pernah habis selagi kita masih di bumi. Jadi teringat sebuah nasihat,

ُمَنْ عَرَفَ نَفْسَهُ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ رَبَّه

"Barangsiapa mengenal dirinya, maka ia mengenal Tuhannya."

Yuk, mari berproses menyelami diri sendiri. Supaya peran-peran yang kita jalani saat ini lebih maksimal dan totalitas. Terlebih, jika muara ujungnya adalah untuk mengharap keRidhoan Allah. Maka teruslah berproses, sampai Allah katakan tugasmu sudah selesai! Ayo Pulang!

Cari Strong Whymu!

Memutuskan bergabung di sebuah komunitas yang menjadi wadah belajar dan meningkatkan kualitas diri perempuan sempat membuat dilema. Banyak alasan yang menguatkan tetapi juga berbanding lurus dengan kekhawatiran jika tidak komitmen dan konsisten. Namun, setelah menuliskan kekhawatiran dan alasan pendukung ternyata sisi positifnya jauh lebih banyak. Salah satu yang penting adalah adanya dukungan dari suami dan beberapa teman yang mendapatkan dampak dari komunitas tersebut. Selain itu, kemauan dan kesempatan tidak datang dua kali.

Tahapan selanjutnya setelah lolos verifikasi adalah welcoming party. Dan yang paling ditunggu-tunggu adalah sambutan dari founder komunitas; Bu Septi Peni Wulandani dan Pak Dodik Mariyanto, suaminya.

Ingin berbagi sedikit kata-kata Bu Septi yang mampu menampar diri sendiri untuk aku yang saat itu sedang mengandung anak pertama dan alhamdulillah terhitung hingga hari ini telah berusia 1 bulan 22 hari.

"Anak yang suka belajar perlu lahir dari ibu pembelajar."

"Ibu yang tidak percaya diri akan mendidik anak yang tidak percaya diri. Ibu yang tidak bahagia akan mendidik anak yang tidak bahagia. SAYA HARUS BERUBAH!"

"Semua ibu itu bekerja, hanya saja ranahnya berbeda. Publik dan domestik."

"Perempuan di ranah publik mungkin wajar bisa upgrade diri. Tetapi perempuan di ranah domestik juga perlu upgrade diri. Semata-mata untuk kebahagiaan kita bukan kebahagiaan anak."

Jangan berhenti belajar ya, bu!

That's totally ok!!! To be honest I have two thoughts on this matter.

1. It's incredibly difficult to learn how to program, regardless of if you're in a structured classroom or not, unless you have someone that you can constantly ask questions and bounce ideas off of. ChatGPT in a really good job of being a semi-replacement, so long as you understand that there are certain nuances to coding that ChatGPT can't provide and you'll look for those elsewhere.

2. The one thing chat GPT does really well that classrooms do not, is personal projects. I have found that I learned coding languages best when I download a repo in the target coding language off of GitHub and just tinker around within till I find something that I want to fix, add, or change. When you're doing that, you need someone who can either fully understand the context of the code which really isn't easy to do with a person since you're doing personal project. This is where ChatGPT excels in my opinion.

And honestly all in all, it's ok to know nothing. Please allow yourself to know nothing. Because I've been programming basically all my life and I still feel like I know nothing. The only difference between now and my younger self is that I find that exciting. To have the privilege of learning is something our ancestors may have only dreamed of, and probably never would have thought possible at the scale of modern internet.

is it normal... to feel so fake? Tried to work on my text-base quiz project in java for class and i feel like i constantly have to go back to AI to figure out what i need to do next. I know what things are but i have no idea how to do it from my own mind.

i feel like i made a mistake again going back to school now, i feel like no matter what field i go into im so average in it or can barely pass the beginner segment. i feel like am imposter. this happened when i went for an art degree and inevitably dropped out. i dont know what to do
