I hope this isn't weird but I've been reading this by @batmanisagatewaydrug and I had like the sudden, strongest urge to make art properly for the first time in ages, so uhhhh have some Jessie (or Jess? Can I call her Jess because I love her?) who is a terrible wet cat of a woman!
I wanted to get this done fast and human anatomy is not my forte so I traced a picture of Natalie in the City, who's a fashion blogger and has some cute fits, though no supervillain ones as far as I'm aware :3

(except i missed the freckles)

#pokemon#inteleon#except the pink panther has more appealing proportions and isn't super cluttered#if they took inspo from the pink panther's design i think they could have taken it a little better....#even its arms aren't THAT thin!! and the hands aren't disproportionately Massive#i get that they're big because the finger guns are important to Inteleons design and having them be prominent and visible is a good idea#but on those fucking noodle arms... augh. ough. fuckhands mcmike#someday i'm going to figure out how to draw inteleon in a way that makes me like it. i'm going to crack the code on this stupid thing#i feel like Kermit proportions would help for me- making something that's supposed to be cool goofy looking usually makes me like it#but i also kind of want to try to redesign it in a way that captures the intended vibe

My problem with star trek species redesigns is people always redesign the wrong ones. Ferengi? Cardassians? Vorta? Some of the most interesting aliens in the show and for some reason I keep seeing redesigns of them. You know who really needs a redesign? Betazoids and El-Aurians. Truly the most boring alien designs in all of Trek. Trill and Bajorans too, but I have seen a few redesigns of them, though I always wanna see more. Give me more redesigned Betazoids and El-Aurians!

My other thing about redesigns I kind of want to see them redesigned in ways that would still be TECHNICALLY#Be possible with prosthetics#Like ferengi cardassians and vorta stand out to me because they made them look like that with practical fx only#So for me it's interesting to see how alien you can make something look while fitting all the features onto the proportions of a basic#Human body. This also technically fits the lore of Trek better as well because of those progenitors or whatever they're called#Orions could also use a rework. They're literally just geen#I'm sure there's more I can't think of right now but trek is not short of basically human alien designs to work with#While i genuinely think ferengi vorta klingons and cardassians are fine as they are#Maybe klingons could use a little more spice and I like when people give vorta tails but. observation post but ive found myself doing a lot of "problem solving" for commissions in my sketchbook because it helps me in a way that drawing digitally does not... Now im trying to figure out why that happens and how to bridge that disconnect because well why would it be different. Why is it so different 😭
#like why does it happen#whys it difficult to do thumbnails for stuff digitally#why did i draw 5 hyena heads digitally and not get anywhere but when i did them on paper it made more sense#why can i get proportions down nicely when doing thumbnails on paper but not digitally#i dont get it! ive been using digital for longer too and i always run into these issues#i guess the case could also be made that i think the traditional stuff looks better bc i never make complete pieces in there#like maybe if i drew a full detailed body on paper id struggle just as much#but idk. trying to figure out variations of a character digitally feels so suffocating even if i do it the same way#idk what it is. i want to figure it iut#*out#talkys#i also have always had this insurmountable issue where ill sketch proportions nicely#but as soon as i go to add detail suddenly the head feels too small or something feels off#and when i adjust it it just becomes More Off#i think this just is worse digitally? messes with sense of scale? i really dont know!!! idk how to fix it
