personal / self reflection

even though i’ve held that resolve i still found myself being influenced by the men [particularly older] who were/are sexually attracted to me

every decision to free myself from said influences lead me to being partnered today. it’s why i could take that leap of faith for the first time this year.

if i am not myself the people attracted to me are attracted to that someone else, the not me, the farce. even if i skew my reflection a little to the left to placate— the attraction is not really an attraction to *me*

and now i’ve got someone to fall head over heels for *me*— the realest i’ve ever been. i even tried to lowkey scare him away lol. i just had no more desire to deal with anyone who just saw me as some exotic bedpost notch and he proved to be different.

we were supposed to do a couple costume this year (goth peach and chain chomp) but unfortunately we weren’t able to spend the holiday together ! we’ll see what happens next year :3 i was able to put together a maren yearly costume last minute

i meant to ask this a million years ago could i have an example of a dress “dyed black to blue” not for silly icelogged reasons 0;3 + HAPPY HALLOWEENIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE hope you enjoy the rest of your week !

i wish i could give u a literal example but the only time i’ve had clothes dyed was with the assistance of a friend. ironically, planning on dying a bunch of stuff black here soon (wish me luck, it’s intimidating)

as far as what the lyric means. dying dresses from black to blue is like, softening myself, through appearance and mood. like, when you are infatuated with someone, intentionally or not, you can start to present a version of yourself that you believe to be more “appealing” to the other party. toning down your gloom and neurosis, softening the edge. sort of goth detransition lol. wrote that line like 4 years ago and thankfully, will not being doing that for a man ever again (heaven knows i havent diluted myself for the partner i have now, and very greatful that i havent). this isn’t new advice but implore every young women, especially artists, not to “bleach your spirit” (oooo there’s a lyric there) for any man.
