2023 in review
This has been harder than expected to pull together. I know social media is the 'glossy' version of everyone's life but in the last couple of days of the year, in the seeing of people posting about buying houses and getting married and having babies, I feel lost. I feel a great sense of emptiness. A year ago I had a sense of what 2023 would look like and what my future beyond that may be and now I don't. I feel like I'm just holding space. I need more novelty and difference in my life to separate the days from blurring into each other.
Work I started a new job I was excited about. I learnt pretty quickly that implementation is maybe not quite where I want to be, I'd rather be doing the strategic influencing work. Big reform work. I suspected this already, but it was good to have it confirmed. I liked the work travel though. The going to Brisbane and Cairns and Sydney and getting out of the national office, getting a bit more perspective.
I moved to the role to follow a senior manager and that senior manager left 5 months into me being there. Two weeks later I was approached to go back to my previous work area and they committed to meeting the requests I had. I worked two jobs for a month and a half and that was HARD. Do not recommend. It's good to be back in this policy area (for the third time!!!) and working with the manager I have. I've had some really great opportunities to step up take the lead and have senior people see what I've done. The Melbourne trip was a highlight, despite the associated difficulties.
I managed a couple of underperformers this year and was forced to grow as a manager to address the issues. I learnt that the attitude of my staff really matters, and it's ok to have the expectations I have and that I'm actually a pretty good and empathetic manager. I dealt with a situation that looked like underperformance and had a strong element of fraud to it. What a time. Not.
I showed signs of burnout for a large portion of the year. It's not ok.
Travel I meant to do Perth -> Broome this year but it fell apart and I instead spent a week in Perth, a few days in Canberra with my friend who was recovering from knee surgery, a long weekend down the south coast, a few days in Cairns, and a few days in Sydney for my step-brother's wedding. It was all good, though if I were to do it again, I'd spend less time in transit and more time in one place.
Referendum Australia had its first Referendum this century, calling for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament to be enshrined in the constitution. It failed and I am still smad about it. I don't know yet how to not be angry about the misinformation and disinformation that was spread through the 'No' campaign. I truly believe Peter Dutton and other significant figures of the no campaign have blood on their hands.
I started getting undercuts as a dopamine hit to lift me out of my feelings.
Health I'm pretty damn sick hey. I need heart surgery but my lungs are too bad to allow it so we're just hanging out deteriorating. Some days are just really tough. But I did start a new medication that has helped me breathe just a little bit better and we're all holding out hope I'll continue to improve. I'm going to do what I can to improve my lungs and yeah, I might not live to be 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, but God has a plan for me and I can rest easy in that knowledge.
Relationships The thing that has probably changed the most in the last year is that Duc and I are no longer together. We haven't been since late Jan. We had talked about getting engaged in 2023, getting married not too long after. I was thinking of buying an investment property with the thought that he could live in it for a bit, then it would become a shared asset when we were committed for life.
Instead, we're no longer together. We haven't been together for a while. It's absolutely the right thing for us to not be together but man did I get used to regular companionship the almost 4 years we were a thing.
Dating sucks. Trying to date as a woman in your early 30s with a visible disability really sucks. My friends and family are fantastic and fill so many of my social and emotional needs that I'm feeling a strong sense of why bother? The desire for domesticity with one I love is why.
Jay
I love Jay. I think I have loved him for years and I let myself love him this year. I know we're not end game. I will need to let go at some point but I remain not yet ready to.
Whiskey Club
This remains one of my favourite friendship things. It's Paul and I. We eat fried chicken, drink whiskey, and talk about our feelings. It's the best. It's a form of therapy, though I sometimes suspect a professional would be good.
Disability
I have become more 'disabled' over the last couple of years and it really became more pronounced over the last 12 months. I feel limited in my life in many ways. I can't travel internationally at the moment, pending how things go I might not be able to again.
Some days I just can't breathe. When things were bad there were weeks of impromptu crying because this body sucks. Sometimes it feels like things can only go downhill from here. I don't like that. I resent it, even.
This year I became the Co-chair of my workplace's Disability Network and I've been taking action to improve policy and procedures for staff living with disability. I've been on panels, talking about some of my experiences. But I'm not 'disability proud'. If I could not have this particular set of challenges based on genetic markers, I would choose that every single time.
There's probably more work I need to do on myself here.
Some good
I did say 2023 would be the year of natural fibres and I did predominantly wear less polyester and more linen. I bought a few more dresses and I do really love the collection I have now.
2024
This year I want to continue growing. My housemate is looking to purchase property and move out with their partner and I really don't know how I'll go living alone.
I'd like to maybe go on a nice date or two? Maybe?
I want to be stronger with my boundaries.
My Mum is going to start working with me and that's equal parts exciting and worrying. I want it to work and not impact the good dynamic we have in a negative way.
Bring it on hey.

Subplot #2: Jones & Co. Development
People on the isle say that there are some things better left undisturbed.
And no one did disturb Blackmoor. For the longest time. A couple of archeologists from the mainland came in the 1990s to conduct investigations on a chambered cairn (or entrance grave) in Tremellin and though some locals complained about their presence, nothing was set out of balance.
Until Jones & Co. came knocking with their grand ideas and house mockups, wearing cheesy smiles and ironed down suits. The council had big plans for Blackmoor, they said. Big plans to bring more life to the place, new blood to be injected into the small rural population. A new beginning.
Not everyone viewed it that way though. Call it prejudice or plain old NIMBY behaviour, but some locals have not taken so kindly to Jones & Company. The desired plot of land in Tremellen was located right next to the chambered cairn, an ancient monument that once bore witness to Blackmoorian prehistory. Yet previous excavations yielded no serious results in this area, and old pottery and rocks simply weren't important enough for the council compared to the money this new project would bring in. And thus: the land was given to Jones & Co. and any further archeological digs designated elsewhere. That was that.
But the locals were having none of it. A campaign started, one that aimed to stop or hinder the development. Their reasoning was largely understandable: that the land should be a protected Heritage Site, not a block of houses. Of course, that might not be the only reason for locals’ opposition. At least, not for all of them. Some still believe that there are things on the island beyond our understanding, and best left alone.
You don’t want to anger her, they’d say. It isn’t wise.
There are lessons that linger in the back of their minds, children's fables or bedtime stories told by their elders and passed down from generation to generation.
Despite local resistance, the development has continued and the first wave of new residents have recently been handed their keys. Is it only superstition or is there something more lingering in the sacred soil of this land? Are the arrhythmic tappings on the new bay windows just the result of the Atlantic winds, or something else invisible to the naked eye?
This subplot focuses on the four new townhouses in Tremellin and the individuals or families who have recently moved into them. These four houses mark the completion of the first wave of new housing being built and developed by Jones & Co. Many locals are hostile towards this development: for most, this is due to their deep, rooted dislike of outsiders. But others fear what else has been awoken due to the land’s upheaval.
Below are skeleton canons associated with the Jones & Co. Development. The history and dynamics hinted in each blurbs are flexible and subject to interpretation. For the avoidance of doubt, whichever writer first claims a member of a household holds the pen on any shared histories and, where relevant, how many spaces are available in the house.
House of Death
The first terrace to be completed, with two bedrooms and two baths. Currently housing someone related to the owner of the company, Jones & Co., for example their child, nephew or sibling. They are considered to be a social pariah in Blackmoor. To the surprise of its architects and builders, next to no natural light manages to penetrate into the house. (0/? slots available)

House of Pestilence
A four bedroom house intended as a family unit, considered to be the perfect second or holiday home. It has been bought by middle-class southerners from the English mainland. Chronic illness has befallen one of its residents, with symptoms similar to exposure to black mould. However, no mould has been found in the property. (0/4+ slots available)

House of War
A two bedroom house which is located closest to the old archaeological dig and potential burial ground. Locals believe the house to be haunted by a poltergeist, and fixtures and fittings seem to come loose with semi-regular occurrence. Scratches occasionally appear on the walls, and open doors often slam shut without warning. (0/? slots available)

House of Famine
A five bedroom terrace which has been rented out by its new owner to a group of young friends. Rent prices are currently above average in Blackmoor. Perishable items seem to go missing inside the house constantly, sowing mistrust and tension between the roommates. (0/5+ slots available)

Townsville Woman Charged with Allegedly Defrauding Far North Queensland Business of Over $2.5 Million
A North Queensland office manager faces 120 criminal charges in connection with an alleged sophisticated fraud scheme amounting to over $2.5 million, carried out over six years.
Authorities allege that the 50-year-old woman from Townsville embezzled funds from a business in Tully, a small town south of Cairns, between 2017 and 2023.
The alleged fraud was uncovered after the business owner reported suspicious financial activity to the police last year.
Acting Superintendent Kevin Goan described the alleged crimes as involving “a significant amount of deceit.”
“Police will allege that the woman used her position to take several measures, including relocating funds and altering business documents, such as payroll information, to commit the offences,” he stated.
A year-long investigation led to searches of several properties and businesses in Tully and Brisbane, where officers seized electronic equipment and financial documents.
“The impact of the [alleged] fraud affects multiple businesses,” Goan added.
Detective Inspector Kevin Goan noted that the alleged fraud was discovered during an audit conducted by the business.
The charges include over 100 counts of stealing, 13 counts of computer hacking and misuse, and several counts of fraud involving amounts of at least $100,000.
Superintendent Goan did not disclose the specific business or industry involved or how the woman allegedly spent the money.
“We’re going back to recapture what measures the person put in place to try and hide the falsification of records to gain a benefit,” he explained.
He believes the woman acted alone.
“To have amassed $2.5 million over a six-year period is obviously a significant detriment to the business and to others with whom that business had dealings,” Goan said.
Superintendent Goan advised all businesses to be vigilant.
“If you think something is not right, then you need to take the necessary steps to ensure that your practices are safe and that you are not being defrauded,” he urged.
The woman was arrested in Townsville on June 5 and is scheduled to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on August 12. She is not currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.

Monday, August 7 - Stornoway, Isle of Lewis
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stornoway is the main town on the Isle of Lewis and Harris, owing its existence to a great natural harbor on the sheltered side of the islands (Lewis and Harris are actually separate islands, but are connected by a bridge so work together as one). It has traditionally been a fishing village, but is also the producer of well-known Harris Tweed, which is featured in many shops.
The island boasts a major stone circle, and other free-standing monoliths, as well as a 6,000 year old burial cairn, so it was settled very early on. Later came the Vikings (as always on this trip), starting in the 9th century and leaving in 1266. They founded the town of Stornoway, and among the things they left behind was a chess set that has been reproduced locally - the three posters in the picture represent three of the pieces.
We decided not to try to get around the north half of the island by bus and visit more far-flung attractions, but rather walk through the town to the other side of the harbor and see the grounds of Lews Castle. The castle is actually a very large and grand manor house built by businessman James Matheson, who made his money mainly in the opium trade. He had bought the property from the MacKenzies, who had been the lairds of the area, and tore down their "castle", which had been built on the site of the original Stornoway Castle, built in the middle ages by the MacLeod clan. A lot of history for one small spot.
The grounds are quite extensive - just walking a trail along the waterfront and then back through the woods is over 4 miles, and that doesn't include the golf course and more heavily wooded hills inland. The property extends all the way to the River Creed, which has a wonderful wild cove where it meets the sea. We explored that area and then went up on Gallows Hill, where there had been a huge neolithic burial site, and where the Viking chiefs hanged those they brought to justice. The views down to the harbor and town were quite beautiful. As you can see from the photos, we had interesting weather - blue skies broken up regularly by heavy, short downpours, followed by more sun. From the hill we could watch a group of junior sailors in their small sailing dinghies, frustrated by the lack of wind. Every now and then there would be a gust and they would skitter about crazily, but mostly they didn't move. We also saw a couple of paddleboarders, who had no such problem.
One of the things that is extraordinary about Lews Castle grounds is that it is managed by the Stornoway Trust, as it now belongs to the town. Eventually Matheson's descendants didn't want the upkeep of the place and it was sold to Lord Leverhulme, who was one of the founders of Lever Brothers (now Unilever). He had hoped to develop a model town, complete with industry and housing and modern farming. Local resentment to the potential changes to their way of life, and other complications made his plans impossible, so in 1923 he gifted the castle and estates to the town. We met many locals out walking, as it seems to be very popular with dog walkers and runners. The castle is now a hotel, and currently they are working on restoring some of the gardens back to the 19th century designs.
We did have a little time after our walk to explore the town, which is compact and wraps around the harbor. As in other places in the UK, the civic plantings were colorful and plentiful, and there were lots of touches of color (like the tables), although the buildings themselves weren't as colorful as Tobermory. But the locals were friendly and we even had two pipers to play for us as we waited for the tender back to the ship. This was our last stop in the UK, and we still have a few pounds left, so we will have to return!
Tomorrow is a sea day, which will be a good break, although looking at the schedule, I don't think we will have that much down time. Then it will be on to Iceland.

What does a constructing inspector do in Victoria?
Building Inspector (Limited)
finishing up initial development inspections and advanced building inspections for residential and business buildings, and. identifying and reporting on non-compliance with the constructing permit, constructing management laws and rules for residential and commercial buildings.
I would not hesitate to suggest him to different people and if we buy another property in the future, we'll probably rent him again. The service was 1st class and the inspector was very knowledgeable and took the time to level out me the issues first hand. The report was simple to understand and I'd advocate them when you’re looking to purchase a house. I simply needed to go with your company on the thoroughly useful and professional manner during which these men carried out their works. Both males have been friendly, very approachable and joyful to have me observe them round to me in a very simple and simple means. As a first home purchaser, it made this a part of the house-buying process a lot easier and reassuring.
This signifies that you can’t negotiate a unique price primarily based on an inspection afterwards. Engaging an area builder to construct your dream house, investment property, or growth can be a stressful time. I simply wish to shut the loop on this one and say thanks for a great report.
Voted Best Building Inspectors In Cairns 2022
The building and pest inspection was carried out by Angus Macfarlaine. We found him to be a really Intelligent and skilled man in his area. He has great communication abilities and was more than pleased to elucidate his findings to me throughout his inspection.
Some sellers may select to complete some repairs before itemizing their property to enhance probabilities of a better selling price later. Our skilled inspectors aren’t just useful for consumers; they'll also prepare current homeowners to ensure they get a good price. ww1 au, they're all anzacs (so australian/nz soldiers) and it's written in an epistolary style, so as letters sent by each of the links to people back home over the course of a month or so, during 1916 in the leadup to the battle of fromelles (aka australia's first big battle in france post-gallipoli). it's partially because it gives me some interesting characterisations to work with (eg sky being from the middle class while hyrule is from the working class, four living in sydney vs wild living in woop woop, etc), and partially because the social developments during that period are fascinating to me; the everyday aspects of life in the trenches is both interesting and incredibly bleak, and ww1 specifically is such a massive part of australian history and I want to write more about it in the future, so this is where i'm starting! the links also all have,,,other names (like, different first names related to their nickname)
the full list of everyone's backgrounds:
Sky; engaged to Sun, lived in Melbourne pretty close to her and was studying maths at university. wants to become a pilot after he saw a plane for the first time. he grew up in the blue mountains but moved to melbourne when he was around ~13, which is when he met sun. enlisted during the gallipoli campaign but didn't go to gallipoli. got his nickname from the plane thing.
Time: married to Malon, they live in rural NSW and own a small-ish property, which malon is maintaining with her family's help. he enlisted around the same time sky did. the unit's resident Dad. He's the oldest in the unit. got his nickname based off the fact that he...somehow has a pocket watch that still works??? no one knows how tho. it's just. there. he also plays like six instruments and has a nice bass voice.
Warriors/Wars: lived in regional-ish victoria (geelong), was regular army. was in gallipoli, he's the highest rank of the unit (captain). got a promotion as he was the only surviving member of his last unit (at gallipoli). at this point, he just really wants to go home. has an 'understanding' with sheik but no one,,,really gets whats going on with them. got his name because, well...he's a soldier
Legend: lived in sydney. bastard child, sister of his zelda (fable, I think? the zeldas are harder to keep track of). he's...chill. wasn't at gallipoli but he's also, like, been a soldier longer than most of them, coz he signed up in 1914. got his name coz he somehow managed to sneak a small book of greek myths (it was actually a copy of the illiad) to the front. how? no one knows.
Four: lived in Adelaide, worked in a factory as an engineer, pretty chill. got his name coz he keeps complaining about having four siblings. the unit's resident stem kid. about 19, shorter than everyone.
Wind: lived in Cairns, helped out on fishing boats, lied about his age to enlist (is 15 turning 16 in july, the fic starts in early june). got his nickname because he was born in wellington, nz, which is famously windy. also because of the fishing thing. has a kiwi accent. writes to his sister but also sorta to tetra (and by that I mean that he,,,leaves it in the postscript)
Twilight: farm hand, grew up in rural nsw and worked on time's farm before he enlisted. was in gallipoli but not for as long as the others who were there. got his nickname bc one day they got leave and he made them watch the sunset and said some Sappy Stuff. he's good with animals and keeps talking about how he wanted to join the cavalry. Also had a dog back home named Wolfie that is definitely not part dingo. Writes to Midna, who's his childhood friend and also...sort of sister? he's her father's ward, before he left to work.
Hyrule: grew up in (modern) Melbourne (for anyone curious, around where Cragieburn is), wanted to be a doctor but thats expensive so he settled for learning local medicine and helping out where he could. Still better at first aid than anyone else in the unit. Nickname came from a fantasy novel he talked about a lot, apparently given to him by one of his friends (one of his zeldas, idk their nicknames). he's the most recent arrival.
Wild: grew up in rural NSW, around Kosciusko. Nicknamed because he's definitely most knowledgable about actually surviving in the wilderness. was a stablehand/sometimes shearer on his zelda's/flora's family's farm and has a...thing with her. was in gallipoli, didn't have a great time. has facial scars from a fire he was in as a kid. He's used to going hungry. one of the younger ones (signed up when he was 17).
I have been hyperfixating on legend of zelda for like the past week and now im learning embroidery to possibly one day make a botw!link cosplay help me its getting too strong
then I found linked universe and help now im writing a historical au for it

If He Was Your Fan, Chapter 56: A Perfect Day, Henry POV (A Henry Cavill Fan Fic)
Chapter 56: A Perfect Day (Henry POV)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I open my eyes.
Were we so tired last night? We both fell asleep in each other’s arms, which was nice, but we just fell out. I didn’t think we were that tired but this was the first time we’d really relaxed in some time. There was nothing scheduled in the near future. There were no deadlines. The relief must have taken us down.
My ears hear food cooking and I inhale deeply. I smell steak….steak and eggs! With…uh…biscuits..and coffee? YES!
“Babe?” I call out to her, a question in my voice.
“Hey, hon, it’s ready!”
I roll out of bed and am greeted by Kal, who is being his puppy version of adorable.
Tumblr media
“Alright, ol’ boy, you’ll get scraps,” I whisper down to him as he weighs my feet down. He pops up like a daisy and I head to the dining area just as she is coming out of the kitchen. “She’s corrupted you.”
“What?” she asks with a raise of an eyebrow. “Who’s corrupted who?”
“Ah, nothing,” I shrug, seeing breakfast.
Tumblr media
“Oh, because I thought you might be talking about how Luna gets smoked salmon for no reason,” she teases. “she’s definitely corrupted you, babe.”
“Wow, love, this is…great,” I smile down at it as she brings juice, coffee and water. “Where’s yours?”
“I’ll get it.”
“I’ll wait.”
Her eyes widen and she goes and gets her plate as well…after cooking her eggs. I was not going to sit and eat without her after she cooked everything. This was something I was going to keep in mind always. She wasn’t a waitress or cook, she was my…going to be…someday would be…had to be…
“Henry?”
“Huh?”
“You alright?”
“Yeah,” I said quickly. “yeah, just…” She sits down next to me, frowning and watching me. “waiting on you, babe.” I look down. “Hold it!”
Tumblr media
“What?”
“That is not what is on my plate.”
“Uh, yeah.”
“I want some of that!”
“Oh, you just want it because—”
“You have it? You bet!”
She rolls her eyes, shaking her head and nodding. “Okay, then but you need to share.”
“Deal.”
After we shared our breakfasts, we packed backpacks and drove to Balmoral Estate. As soon as we got out of the truck, she gasped.
“Oh, my God,” she whispers. “is that a—”
“Pyramid?” I finish. “Yes.” I got out of the car and pulled our bags.
“We’re going to hike here?” she asks, eyes wide.
“This is Balmoral Castle—” I pointed off in the distance. “and Estate. There are cairns, pyramid like monuments, all over the property, but Queen Victoria had a pyramid build memory of her husband Prince Albert over a hundred and fifty years ago. Come on.”
I was a bit surprised to find people on the trail, but it is an outdoor activity. We saw many people on the way, and as usual, selfies here and there. The good thing is that the estate is so big, we really can’t be located. It was a bit of a hike, and we shared snacks of cheese and fruit and water on the way, but we made it.

“This is so…wow.”
“Queen Victoria loved her husband Prince Albert very much, and he became ill,” I told her. “He said as long as his family was well cared for, he could die the next day, but Victoria said if he died, it would kill her, and so he fought the illness to the end. She had this built and grieved for decades after.”
“She loved him like that, so much?” she whispers.
“Yes, he was a part of her, she couldn’t bear the idea of his leaving, even in something as unavoidable as death.” I swallowed hard, looking at her. Who would lightsaber duel with me? Who goes and does ‘her thing’ when I play Warcraft? When would I have ever found out what a blasted Dagwood is? “He died in his forties, relatively young. We saw some of their cairns, or memorials, on the way here.”
“I thought cairns were dogs.”
I chuckled at that. “The breed was known for chasing small quarry between the cairns, they were small and mobile enough to manuver.” I put my arm around her. “Cairn terriers.”
“Oh.”
We walk back to the car together, and we are tiring. Times like these I wish we could go to a restaurant, but I wasn’t ready to risk it.
We managed to get back to the car with minimum fuss and drove back to the cabin.
We decided on pizza. I took care of the crust and she got the ingredients and sauce together. Thin crust meant less time, so I that’s what we did. We ate the first pizza pretty quickly, but the second was a literal pie or stuffed pizza, taking a bit longer so we took Kal and Luna out.

Night fell quickly and the Northern Lights were out for their show.
“God, people live here,” she breathes, her eyes wide. “people wake up and go to sleep to this.”
“Yeah,” I said softly, hugging her from behind. “Nice retirement, hmm?”
She smiles at the sky and turns in my arms. “Maybe.”
“We’ll raise cairns,” I said teasingly.
“Okay, you can practice Warcraft and be a professional gamer.”
“Who says I’m not that good now?”
“Are you?”
“Okay, okay, a little more practice,” I laugh and turn her so she could look at the sky again, rocking her side to side as if we were dancing. She laughs with me. “but the acting thing, I kinda like it.”
She belly laughs at that, leaning back against me. “Gee, ya think?” She sighs, “I would write my whole life if I could.”
“I get that feeling,” I look at her and kiss her temple, my arms around her, her hands in mine. I watch her lift her ring hand and move it, making the diamond glitter and sparkle under the night sky lights. “Wondering about the ring, are you?”
“A little,” she giggles a bit nervously, looking down at it. “Is it really that old?”
“Yes,” I reply. “Many years ago one of my ancestors was a merchant. He loved someone very much, and she was afraid he would not come home to her, especially since she was a commoner. He had this ring made to let her know that she was his North Star, and no matter where he sailed or ventured, she would always be his way home.” I was nervous. I reach into my pocket, and pull out my family crest, no bigger than the size of a small button. I took her hand, and opened the locket ring. “This fits in here.” I put it in gingerly. “If there is ever any doubt of who loves and protect you, you only need open it.” I close it back turn her to me. She looks up at me as I hold her hand in mine, seemingly speechless.
“Thank you,” she breathes.
“Every knight usually has a lady,” I joke softly, still holding her hand with mine and tilting her chin up with the other. I bend down and brush my lips over hers. “Right?” She nods yes, and I pull her to me for a deeper kiss. She melted against me and we both sighed, tasting each slowly, no rush, the world was moving slower for the moment and so could we.
Suddenly her watch went off.
“Pizza?”
“Yeah,” she exhales. We walk back inside, and the house is filled with the aroma. Even Kal and Luna are sniffing around the kitchen door. I follow her in, and she pulls out a huge pizza pie.
“That’s for today and tomorrow, isn’t it?” I asked with a small laugh.
“Definitely, but we can have salad to go with it,” she says, carefully placing it on the counter. “Needs to cool.”
“Okay—” I pick her up and carry her to the bed. She wraps her arms around my neck and curls closer. I lay her down and crawl between her legs, kissing her as I make my way up. Just as my hips align, and my lips meet hers, she curls her limbs around me and reverses our positions.
“Pinned ya,” she whispers.
I chuckle at that and try to sit up, but she grabs my hands and puts them over my head.
“Pinned ya again,” she rubs my nose with hers.
