I sketched this comic yesterday. It was for daily Ramona, this is why it's not finished (I had to draw everything in the same day). But it's big enough for me to make a separate post for it
Ramona and Julie's friendship had potential, it's what I'm saying!

Urban Soul Exhibition Opening - September 15th, 2014 at 7:00pm
Back in two-thousand fourteen I was toying with the idea of doing a film. I had approached my high school friend Michael Noonan to assist me on generating a script for this film. I thought Michael had a great aesthetic, wide knowledge base and sense of humor that would be an asset to a script-writing partner. Sadly I was wrong and this film never even got close to being made.
In concert with the idea of the film I had approached a contemporary Ajamu Walker an accomplished fine art painter, to capture some development images for me. The film idea was based in stalking, voyeurism and isolation, and I wanted to get that feeling in pictures to assist Michael and myself in our writing process. Due to the Mr. Walker donating his services for the project I never published any of these images previously.
Its been ten years and both Mr. Noonan and Mr. Walker are no longer friends. Michael and I had a falling out over this very project because I felt like if he couldn't assist he should have said as much, and not let me just keep meeting with him hoping we could produce something. Mr. Walker and I parted friendship for very unclear reasons. I still have the upmost respect for both of these people, but thought before sharing some of these images that I should give some context.
Lastly, this was an actual exhibition opening, where I was coming out as non-binary I had some conflict with Ramona Candy the curator for the show whom is also an accomplished fine art artist specializing in collage.
I don't think she understood how important it was to me to embrace the pronouns I was putting on for this opening and we butted heads around that. She also didn't like that I gave this show my own design treatment which featured my work, which was something I did for all of my exhibitions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She attempted to leverage the use of the college she was representing to get me to submit to her wishes, it didn't work, I continued to promote the show how I did for all of my exhibitions to date. And generally speaking I will never submit to being bullied. I think this was the last exhibition we worked together on. I don't want to says I was a difficult personality to work with, but I had a clear vision for my work and wanted that vision to respected no matter which kind of show, whether it be a group or a solo one. My art is an extension of me and I would never want myself misrepresented.
Tumblr media
Notes about what I am wearing, one of my suits from Born to Tailor, the company I just won a judgement against in court, the shirt I purchased in Peru on my '07 trip there. As a choker I am wearing my grandfather's WWII dog tag and my head-wrap was some unused fabric of my grandmothers. The necklace a piece I copped at another opening was designed by Alicia Piller a brilliant sculptor and fine artist. I love how thin I was and how mis-matched these textures and fabrics were. The look I gave for the artist talk was also outrageous I was really trying to push boundaries in my visual presentation for this show, and I think I understood the assignment perfectly.

EAH Dorms Rooms Headcanon 30 Poll
Like every good story there is a beginning, middle, and end and this will be the final Ever After High Dorm Headcanons (or until I think of something else). It's been a fun and sometimes stressful project that I enjoyed every second of.
In this poll you get to pick which dorm you wish you saw during the shows run.
Raven & Apple, Briar & Ashlynn, Ramona & Justine, and Lizzie are excluded since we saw their dorm multiple times.

Welcome to the Scott Pilgrim Marauders Map, this came to me in a vision from the heavens after reading the Scott Pilgrim comics and spiralled wildly out of control.
This is sort of a plan for a fic? I’ve written a couple things before but nothing super detailed or longer than maybe 500 words so this would be a huge project and I’m putting it here because my friend (@folkwhore12) told me to and I do whatever she says, also just in case anyone just as insane but better at writing than me wants to take this up and write it hehe.
Couple things to note, this would be extremely Pandora x Lily centric, I love Jegulus more than I love breathing but I swear there is a drought of Pandalily fics in this fandom and I am so very close to dying of thirst. Let the lesbians have their fun.
Another thing is I want to make it clear that Pandora in this is not a weirdo and is not dating a minor, whilst she may be the Scott Pilgrim of this universe she isn’t as deeply flawed as he is. She’s Scott in the way they’re both autistic and kind of a loser. The Scott Pilgrim universe is all about overcoming flaws and all that and honestly this idea came from Pandalily rather than character exploration, but trust me her struggles would not revolve around dating children.
As for Lily, she is just Ramona Flowers. I don’t really need to say more but i’m going to because I love Lily and she deserves more recognition. I love the comics because they’re about Ramona just as much as they’re about Scott and I really felt that in the new anime as well. In my head Lily is a perfectionist, she likes to have control over everything which is why, like Ramona, she’s been the one to break off every relationship.
Ok as for the more fun aspects of this I know it’s insane I’m well aware.
Introducing, the 7 Evil Exes of Lily Evans:
1. Sybill and Lily have a primary school playground wedding when they’re about 8 years old and Sybill doesn’t stop thinking about her for the next 14 ish years.
2. Marlene and Lily get dared to kiss in high school (13/14) and Marlene falls head over heels in love (so real of her). She meets Dorcas Meadowes and realises she might be head over heels in love with her as well and that’s where it gets complicated.
3. James is the odd one out (jumpscare he’s a man). Him and Lily date for maybe three months in year 9 (age 14/15) and where he’s making lists of baby names and picking out flower arrangements, Lily realises that she’s 100% most definitely into women.
4. Dorcas is where it gets serious for Lily, they’re 16-18 and picking unis and despite the fact they’re wildly, madly, soul crushingly in love, they both have dreams and they go their different ways.
5. Narcissa and Lily were incredibly dysfunctional and a bit insane together. Eventually Lily decided maybe it was a bit too insane for her (that’s saying something) and broke it off, which then made Narcissa decide to quite sensibly destroy the world.
6 + 7. Andromeda + Bellatrix were Lily’s very successful attempt at revenge. Maybe Narcissa was getting a little too stalkerish or something (I haven’t figured out the details yet) but Lily decides that she’d quite like to have the bragging rights to say she dated every Black sister.
(8. Narcissa again (just trust me on this) Lily’s revenge plan, whilst successful, was successful in a way she wasn’t expecting. Narcissa being the ultimate evil ex and the future organiser of the league, only sees Lily’s revenge as incredibly evil and falls in love with her villainous instincts even more.
If anyone finds this even mildly interesting I’ll talk about all the other characters because otherwise this will get far too long - I cannot stop talking about Wallace Wells as Regulus Black even if I tried lmao.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off Review:
(MAJOR SPOILERS)
Tumblr media
I couldn’t fathom how much I was hyped for this series.
Not only is it an Anime adaptation of my favorite comic series, but the fact that the cast and crew of the 2010 movie were brought back on the project, and that Bryan Lee O’ Malley was brought as the showrunner and writer for the series, had me excited.
And so… was it worth the hype?….
Yes.
Everything about it was fucking amazing, tho the main thing I was surprised was how much it deviated from the source material, but to my surprise… the changes were done so well that I can’t help but love it.
For one, the story wasn’t your typical Scott Pilgrim urm… story, where Scott takes on the League Of Evil Exes in order to be with Ramona Flowers.
Instead it’s more of an alternate retelling where Scott “dies” (notice how I used quotation marks to describe it, but that will be explained later) after his first fight with Matthew Patel, and as a result, it sort of created this Butterfly Effect where everyone around him started to act differently and events that were usually part of the main canon have been altered.
Things such as Matthew Patel talking over Gideon Graves’ empire basically leaving Gideon without nothing and having to resort to living with Julie Powers, Young Neil wanting to write a script for a movie about what will happen if Scott didn’t die during his fight with Matthew Patel, and Knives Chau working with Stephen Stills to create music after Scott’s “death” (again notice the quotation marks that I’m using to describe it, which again, will be explained later, or wait… actually the next sentence will actually explain now).
However, Ramona Flowers would come to the realization that Scott Pilgrim is still alive.
Apparently contrary to popular belief, Scott didn’t actually die during his fight with Matthew Patel, instead he was transported to an unknown place by a mysterious being (which we’ll get into later).
So now, it’s up to Ramona to pull a Sherlock Holmes and figure out what happened to Scott and who would have taken him.
Along the way we get to know more about the Evil Exes as well as some of the other characters, basically fleshing them out as to more than what we know, and basically changing them into different caricatures of the characters that we usually known them for.
Eventually it culminates with Ramona figuring out who was responsible for teleporting Scott.
However in a surprising turn of events, Scott’s back, and while he does confirm that he was teleported by the Katayanagi Twins’ robot, he wasn’t actually taken by them, as was instead taken by…
His future self.
Yes, in the biggest plot twist of the century, the mysterious being that took Scott, was his future self, who took him in, in order for him to not get together with Ramona.
Eventually, it ends with Scott and Ramona defeating future Scott, and Ramona realizing that she’s been running away from the people who loved her, and decides that she’s done with that, ultimately keeping both her and Scott’s relationship perfectly intact.
And boy that was a lot wasn’t it, but I don’t wanna just end it there, obviously we gotta talk about the other aspects such as the Characters.
And man where the characters hella fun and good, not only are they still the same as we know them, but we actually get to see who they actually are then what we usually know, and this is especially apparent with the League Of Evil Exes.
The fact that we get to flesh out the League was something that I was not expecting, but after seeing how the handled it, it was really good and I can’t hate on it.
The addition of Future Scott actually surprised the fuck out of me, cuz I really was not expecting them to do something like that, but they did, and I can’t help but adore it.
In addition I need to talk about the music, especially the songs as well as the opening theme, those were especially bangers, and I can’t help but crack a smile and bop my head Everytime I listen to them.
(Especially again the opening intro as well as that cover of “I Will Remember You” cuz man those were fuckin amazing)
And you know I can’t forget about this but the animation was….
SPECTACULAR.
And obviously because it’s an Anime they gotta have the fluid expressions and movements, especially when it came to the fight scenes cuz holy shit they were FUCKING PHENOMENAL.
So overall I fucking loved the Anime, and while it did deviate from the original source material, the changes were justified and were probably done for the best especially for this version.
The only minor criticism I could provide is that they reused the same scene of Ramona changing her hair multiple times, but it minor anyways so that wasn’t a big of a deal.
But all in all, it’s still an amazing Anime.
9.5/10

Quick Thoughts on Loki Season 2
I thought about reviewing episodes week to week like last time...but I didn't wanna. So, instead, here's my quick thoughts for a whole season.
And to keep it short: Loki Season 2 is even BETTER than Season One.
It's still more or less the same with fun chaos mixed with heartbreaking tragedy as these characters make sure the entire multiverse doesn't implode in on itself just by existing.
We get a new lovable character through OB and develop ones like Mobius and B-15 as they find new purpose with this new normal in the TVA. And, of course, there's Sylvie who comes back to revels in her supposed victory and learns the consequences that come with it. With her, I feel like a lot of improvements could have been done with her, as she comes across as too selfish to really care about with a LOT of scenes. Like, even in the end of everything, she's not willing to admit that she's wrong about her decisions, but at the same time the season paints it as she ISN'T wrong but just...hasty. Like Sylvie DEFINITELY did the right thing, but in the wrong way that caused more harm than good. As for a character like Ramona...I REALLY wish I could like her, but with how big Season One hyped her up, it's disappointing that there's no big payoff with her. Like, there IS this one twist that the show pulls out, but then does NOTHING with it. And she was meant to be this big antagonist this season, only for a cartoon clock to be more threatening than her. A CARTOON CLOCK.
But while the season doesn't do well at building up Ramona, it SUCCEEDS in making Kang threatening again. I really wish Jonathon Majors wasn't a scumbag, because he manages to perfectly convey two completely different versions of Kang their own distinct characters, with the finale showing just how much of a threat Kang can really be. It's too bad that Marvel's thinking about moving AWAY from Kang and replace him with Doctor Doom instead, but for now, I can say that Kang can still be a great villain if given the right writing.
But the real star of the show is Loki, as this season is all about developing him and dissecting his role as a villain turned hero. And it all comes together why he'd even bother trying to do ANYTHING to save the TVA, and the conclusion is as beautiful as it is tragic.
And that finale. MY GOODNESS. That finale might be one of the best things the MCU has done since Infinity War, and I'm not kidding. It's chaotic, it's funny, it's heartbreaking, it's...beautiful. I liked Season One enough, but Season Two of Loki made me love the series even more. My faith in the MCU wavered, but a project like this made it worth sticking around to watch.
And after all these strikes caused writers and actors to move so many projects back to the point we now have ONE MCU movie in 2024, I just hope this means everyone can take enough time to make a final product that's as GLORIOUS as this.

Everytime that I remember every fandom has a huge fanbase of men that don't understand that a male character is supposed to be flawed and a bad person, and they just project themselves on them because they're unable to understand they're just seeing their own issues, I get pissed.
There's the stupid amount of male fans in the DiscoElysium that genuinely think that being an alcoholic is fun because "my ex was awful" and "I'm depressed" is cool or funny. And let's not start on the part of the fanbase that actually agree with fascist Harry.
The amount of male fans of Scott Pilgrim that think that hating Ramona is cool, and that she was in the wrong, for being basically in what is depicted as a codependent relationship with an abusive guy. The amount of fans that think that is okay that he cheated on her and Knives, that he dated an underage girl, and overall just project themselves on him and wish they were him.
The amount of fans of ChainsawMan that keep disregarding the fact that Denji is a traumatized 15 year old that has been sa'd multiple times by older women, or think that is funny. The amount of fans that think the same things as the CSM cult in part two, despite the fact they're directly called a Terrorist cult in the manga. And the stupid amount of fans that sexualize Kobeni when she straight up tells Denji she would end up being basically trafficked if she had not gotten the job as a devil hunter.
The stupid, ridiculous, awful, amount of male fans in the Fallout fanbase that are racist, fascist, mysoginistic, homophobic, and just awful people. The fact there's always a mod maker that ends up being denounced for abusing someone. The fact they defended a writer that was denounced legally for abuse. The amount of YouTubers that have been denounced for being problematic; to the point one even had a "gentleman manifesto". The absurd amount of mods that include sexualization, race changes, killing essential characters, etc.
It just fucking sucks. You cannot be a women, or a minority that enjoys these things, cause there's always a huge part of the fanbase that's compiled completely of cishet men, whose purpose in the fandom seems to alienate everyone else, and be the most insufferable prick ever.
I'm so fucking tired of them having 0 literacy, having 0 reading comprehension, and being so adamant on not working on their problems and instead choosing to project themselves on a fictional character, and make it everybody else's problem.
Is ridiculous how every girl, gay, or trans person I know has a personal history of a guy that's just like that in every fandom they're in. Is ridiculous how a lot of the time we will end up leaving the fanbase altogether, because most of the time that's easier and safer than keep being on it. Is ridiculous how a lot of the time we have to pretend we don't like these things, or keep it to ourselves and never be able to share it with someone else, because we're specifically trying to avoid coming into contact with these guys. And god forbid you make a safe space that does not include cishet men, cause they will harrass you and keep bothering you, and just never realizing that they're the fucking problem.

Tony Vargas Vs the World
So @multi-lefaiye and I have been cultivating another AU. Mashed TFTGS with Scott Pilgrim VS the World and got this beautiful Jantonio-centered mess :3 (with Tony as Scott Pilgrim and Jack as Ramona Flowers)
First evil Ex: Karl Thomas:
Jack’s first ex is the one who’s super easy to defeat (like a mini-boss) so he doesn’t really matter. I’ll make him Jack’s first stalker from vol 2, Karl Thomas (the guy who had a shrine of jack and his missing socks and hair clippings in his trailer). Jack and he dated for like a week or two in middle school, but Jack interpreted “you’re my partner now!” for “let’s pair up on this project” and didn’t realize Karl’s intentions until the project was over and he kept hanging around him. Karl's still stalking him in this au too and Tony ‘defeats’ him easily in battle… with a gun (/hj)
Second evil Ex: Benji:
Next ex on the list is Benji! “Jack, what the hell! This guy’s huge!!” “What can I say? I like guys that are bigger than me.” “Everyone is bigger than you!” “Haha yeah” (Battle ideas: Hunting? Either each other or things in the forest. Or hunting each other in the forest)
Third "evil" Ex: Rosa Vasquez:
Third ex is Rosa <8 “Hi, Jack!” Rosa waves excitedly at Jack, who waves back with a friendly smile.  Tony: “Oh, what? She doesn’t seem so bad, why’s she on your ‘evil ex’ list?” Jack: “Yeah, Rosa’s not so bad. We still hang out once in a while! The weird, Dark God possessing her, on the other hand…” Tony: “The wha--” Tony’s interrupted by the giant tree root hand that snatches him up and drags him into a fight with the now possessed!Rosa
Fourth and Fifth evil Exs: Brick Roscoe x2 (Xavier’s idea <8)
Jack dated one of the brick roscoes for a few months, probably shortly before Jack left for college. He never actually found out that there were two of them and that they were identical twins until much later, because neither of them ever said anything. basically they both just kinda gaslighted jack for a while and each dated him while he thought he only had one boyfriend. he broke things off with both of them when he found out (which happened when the bricks messed up and forgot to coordinate their schedules so they'd never both be in the room with jack at the same time. offering him a threesome did not make him feel better about the whole thing.) In terms of the battle, I think playing up the identical twin thing would be fun. probably a bit predictable, but y'know.
Tony: oh god which one do i fucking shoot Jack: SHOOT THEM BOTH
i think a fun tie-in with this would be like. early in jack and Tony's relationship, Jack asks him if he has a twin, and Tony says no, and Jack says "oh thank god."
Tony: Why'd you ask?? Jack: Uh. don't worry about it.
Sixth evil Ex: Jerry Pascal
6th ex is Jerry :D They dated in college and Jack really liked him until he started getting interested in this new cult that started warping his mind. Jack had to break things off when Jerry wouldn’t stop insisting on him joining so they could “put a stop to all the world’s suffering together,” whatever that meant. (battle idea: battle of wits? Tony thinks it’ll be a piece of cake because this guy acts dumber than a rock. Ends up getting his ass kicked kahoot style)
Seventh evil Ex: Spencer (Fucking) Middleton
7th evil ex is the one and only Spencer Middleton! Jack’s most recent (and most evil) ex of them all. Jack won’t even talk about why they broke up, so Tony assumes it’s really bad. He does tell him that it was his most recent breakup, though, and they’d been dating for a few years after meeting at one of his part time jobs. Spencer's probably the one who orchestrated the whole "League of Evil Exes" thing just to piss off Jack and make his (dating) life a living hell. (Battle idea: fistfight!!!)
feel free (please do) drop suggestions for how jack met/broke up with other exes (or any other trivia you'd wanna add)

I so excited for your CanLiet Scott Pilgrim vs the world au idea
I who love to read that fanfic, omg i so excited
Tumblr media
So my AU idea—
It’s not a 1:1 comparison of the story/characters for obvious reasons 🫥 spvtw has got its own issues but AnYwAy:
Our boy Matthew takes the place of Scott Pilgrim as he attempts to win the heart of Ramona Flowers *cough cough I mean* Tolys! And by defeating his seven evil exes. The ideas for the exes are as follows (some I’m more certain of than others):
Eduard: kinda iffy on this one, but I could see him fighting with the nyos as a tie in to the “demon hipster chicks”.
ALFRED: need I say more? American movie star slash skating star played in the movie by Chris evans of Captain America fame???? Match made in heaven.
Feliks: so this one gets interesting. Tolys and Feliks are exes, but who is the singer of The Clash at Demonhead? The ex of Matthew and current gf of Tolys ex #3? I think Ukraine. The vegan (or whatever else gives Feliks his special powers) police are Czechia and Slovakia.
Natalya: “You had a straight phase?” I think we’d all prefer this battle to play out like in the comics instead of… what happened in the movies 😬. But I also think she would totally rock Roxanne’s outfit!
⬇️
Lovino & Feliciano: So these two I feel like is the biggest stretch, esp since I’ve never really seen any feli/ tolys stuff but dangit I needed another pair of siblings Tolys has some connection to and I’m starting to run out 😭. When it comes to the battle of the bands, I keep imagining some kind of Måneskin thing for them & I think that’s be sick.
Ivan: 🥲🥲🥲
When it comes to ideas for a Knives Chau-ish character (bc euugh Scott why) the ppl who came to mind were either like, Ludwig or Gilbert. Who are in college at least. I’d be leaning towards Gilbert because of the prucan precedent and because of Tolys and Gilbert already having somewhat of a rivalry. He’d be some kind of international grad student or something.
For other characters I…. Havent thought about as much 😅. Sex Bo-Bomb would probably consist of a bunch of Matthew’s friends/exes who haven’t already been giving roles.
If I were to develop this more, I think it could be cool to expand on the music aspect of it, esp with alternative punk/rock/whateva music from the different countries. My knowledge of that is kinda limited but I’d love to learn more about it!
So yeah! That’s the bulk of my idea. Ya mentioned reading it as a fanfic but I think it could work as a real fun hetagame too! If I wasn’t bogged down with other projects & hetagame ideas I’d make it mself. Until then imma keep rolling it around in my brain and maybe draw Tolys with a bunch of different hair colors.

Back to Books!
I really fell off the reading goal bandwagon after, what, January? Let’s blame the ADHD for that hyperfixation fizzling out. But! I’m back to reading now. I’ll call it a combination of long car rides, a need for background noise while cleaning and doing tasks on my own, and a desire to be a good example to my new students.
So what have I read in the past month? (I’m no particular order, and it might have been more like 6 weeks…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I finished:
The Ramona Quimby Collection by Beverly Cleary - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Technically this was 8 books (?) I have read all the Ramona books in the past. I think my favorites are Beezus and Ramona and Ramona’s World, so the start and end of the series. It’s interesting to see Ramona and Beezus grow up through each book. These books bring back a lot of memories for me. I give them a collective four stars.
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An absolute classic and a masterpiece. Picked this one specifically because I want to read it to my third graders. Absolutely beautiful. If you haven’t read this one, do it! The full cast recording was pretty good. (As a kid I think I had the tapes with E.B. White reading it himself, which was also fantastic if you can find it.)
Redwall by Brian Jacques - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An old favorite. Brian Jacques was a wonderful world builder and this is the one that started the series. Four stars, with one just for the full cast recording. Jacques was the master of those!
Mattimeo by Brian Jacques - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sequel to Redwall so I had to follow up with this one. More lovely world building, fun characters, and amazing performances.
Taggerung by Brian Jacques - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My favorite Redwall book. I love all the characters and the plot, and I get songs from this stuck in my head! Absolutely gorgeous.
Coraline by Neil Gaiman - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A modern classic, in my opinion, but I had to stop listening to it until daytime. Something about listening to it at night on my own was too creepy! Neil Gaiman’s voice is one I could listen to no matter what he read.
The Losers Club by Andrew Clements ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A new (to me) book by a favorite author! I really connected with the main character, who is a book lover to the point he gets in trouble at school for reading when he’s not supposed to! I so relate! The story was really fun and had a great message. I might do this one as a read aloud for my kiddos. Alec (the main character) is in 6th grade, but I think my kiddos could understand. It has a list of recommended books at the back, many of which I have not read (yet!)
I’m currently reading:
High Rhulain by Brian Jacques - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another good Redwall book. I like the character and all the riddles. This one is a comfort read. It gets stars because I’ve read it before.
A House with Good Bones by T. Kingfisher
Just checked this one out from the library and then thought, “Oh! I haven’t done a reading update. I should do that!” I’ll let you know how it is. It looks a little spooky!
Not sure if I’ll dig out my tracking blanket project, but I at least wanted to share these. I want to teach my class to share what they’re reading and how they feel about books, so like I said, I’m setting a good example.

Some covers of my nano project I threw together in canva! Thought it would be fun to try and get a rough idea for some of the visual language and ideas that might make their way onto an actual Raven's Rock cover, and then the newspaper one was mostly just for fun. Although I do like the idea of eventually getting something more landscape-y, like in that first pic.
Summary:
Raven's Rock is a small mining town in the Barren. It's strange, and quiet, and kind, and the people there lead strange, quiet, kind lives.
Then, they dig too deep, they strike something new, and days later their mines explode. The people of Raven's Rock no longer know quiet and kind, it is all strange and stranger.
Emanuel Rye is the sheriff of Raven's Rock. He listens to the wind like it has something to say, and he'll fix his town or die trying.
Ramona buried her sister yesterday, and she spends her free time sitting over a haunted grave. She's going to fix things, and she'll break this town trying.

OK GOOD i been looking forward to bitching about it
Mind you i only watched the live action film so i dont know if the story is better in other versions
So, Scott begins dating knives, a highschool student, as a way to get over his ex envy. It dpesnt seem to go into a sexual direction (i think there was a joke making fun of scott for that but i dont remember) but it doesnt change that hes taking advantage of this girl for his own emotional comfort
No one in the band objects to this, thwy either find knives annoying/ make fun of scott for seeking a highschool student
Then Scott meets ramona at this party and they go on this most pathetic date together after he wouldn't stop bothering her after she deliverd his mail.
His band is weirded out by him two timing ramona and knives and it becomes a side plot where everyone is telling him to break up with knives before she finds out (i think wallace says something like "youre gonna break this poor girls heart" in a flat tone which is sadly the most empathetic anyone is to knives in the entire film)
But scott is a bitch so of course he doesnt do that
All the while there is this dramatic plotline avout scott having to foght ramonas 7 evil exes, most of which are unintresting
Mathew unfortunately never shows up after his first appearance and his entire character is hes not white and hes ramonas ex (tbh most of her exes are like this, like one guy is a movie star and ramonas ex)
Two other exes that are mildly intresting :
Vegan guy who is now dating envy- after hes deafeated by being tricked into drinking milk (???) Scott and envy have this "moment" where scott calls envy by her real name and she goes "no one calls me by that name anymore" and hes like "well maybe they should" and leaves -like?? I dont care??? Even more so, why the fuck does envy care??? Scott just blew up her boyfriend into mario coins
-At some point sscottbreaks up with knives and she becomes angrily obsessive with ramona for taking scott from her, emulating the way she dresses and stalking her
Second ex thats mildly interesting- a girl, who is ramonas ex (i swear all the exes are like this) shes angry at ramona for cheating on her i think and ramona is like "our relationship was never serious, i was just bicurious" to which she responds "well im biFURIOUS"
She and ramona fight because fuck scott, and someone in the audiance makes a comment about lesbian porn
-she still gets exploded into mario coins (as all of thd exes are)
Scott gets pissed about all of these exes trying to kill him and ramona not telling him about it from the get go and ramona is like "well shit if youre gonna be a bitch about it i guess were gonna break up" And they do
-Ramona gets back with her ex (the last one remaining if we dont include scott now)
-The ex hires scotts band but scott refuses to join, so he leaves the band
-Scott crashes the party to fight this final ex to the death (cause thats a reasonable reaction)
-(Im not joking, it is framed as reasonable because this ex is weird and possesive of ramona, as if scott is some innocent angel)
-knives interrupts the fight because she wants to kill ramona for breaking scotts heart (???? Girl hes not worth defending)
-Knives and ramona find out about the two timing thing
-scott get killed by the final ex
-Scott meets ramona in the afterlife, ramona reveals that shes being mind controlled by the final ex (???? Yippe for lack of agency)
-scott is brought back to life via video game magic
-he defeats the final evil ex
-He apologises for the two timing thing
-he and ramona still end up together
-The End
The only thing i enjoyed from this film is the visual effects
Ultimately it was just boring to me, like a slightly better version of 'ready player one'
Also from my limited knowledge the author is mixed (white + korean) and I saw some places say that he regrets his depiction of knives as he feels he projected a lot of internalised stuff onto her- but idk
gonna be honest i can certainly see your disdain for this series style of comedy coming in through in this recap, heff. interesting to know that about the author tho, that kind of clarifies some stuff i think.
i kind of like the concept of the evil exes and the video game fights and stuff. i like when stuff that's got a serious core is set in a funny, sometimes bordering on nonsensical setting. from what i can parse the comics/movie are generally about like two bad people (scott & ramona) dating each other and trying to be better despite having done some real scummy stuff (mostly they cheated on their exes i think but also probably other stuff)
which yknow. i can get behind that as a concept. i honestly don't care that scott is like a shitty guy who dates a high schooler cause i understand that that's part of him being shitty.
mostly i'm just not sure why it's so popular 'cause i've never really been able to get the appeal. i mean the first version of it i've actually bothered sitting down to watch (despite seeing stuff about it for years) is the new anime one, that i went into knowing was gonna be a complete departure from the original story.
annnyyway that's enough about scott pilgrim. i'm gonna go draw or something.

@noctfury All the validation I need.
First of all, I follow the book canon more than the show. I won't go into the plot because at some point I would like to work with some artists and actually make this as a webcomic. But I will talk about the changes to the characters.
Starting with Faybelle and Duchess. The only mention of their friendship is in Duchess's diary. Also I hate how both them are characterized in the show. Let's just say book Faybelle would never work with the evil queen.
Both of them are similar in that they are Straight A students and hate the Princesses. They bond over their shared anxieties of keeping up with perfect grades and a perfect image.
Faybelle on occasion will pull a petty prank but wouldn't do anything that would interfere with her grades or get her in detention.
Daring is a third year and has already signed the storybook of legends. That's why everyone knows that he is Apple's prince.
Darling is also destined to be Apple's true love but doesn't know it yet. It'll be explained in the story.
Darling isn't naturally princess-y like the other girls. She does her best to hide it but often gets in trouble for doing heroic things. When someone calls out for help her body moves faster than her mind does and she can't stop herself. She can be reckless and impulsive but well intentioned. One time she fell out of a tree and broke her arm rescuing a hedgehog.
She has had a crush on Apple since her first year. The only person who knows is Dexter. They often joke about who has the worst crush. The daughter of the greatest evil Ever After has ever seen or their older brother's fiancee.
Blondie is much different. Her main goal is to become a real reporter not a gossip. She started out with interviews of her friends and classmates. The real lives of fairy tales. Where she would show others how these future legends are just like everyone else. But she wants to branch out. (But that is where the views are at). She's determined to break a real news story.
In this version she's very close to Dexter. As he is her tech guy and co-producer. She is definitely the lead reporter but Just Right is very much their project. She often ropes him into shenanigans much to Dexter's annoyance. But he enjoys editing videos and working on techy stuff.
Poppy is also different. As the daughter of Rapunzel it is her duty to fill the role of a princess in someone else's story (Like the Charmings). So she starts school at the same time as Holly. She is very uninterested in being and damsel and rather being out hunting. She has a punk aesthetic but is forced to wear more "princess-like" attire.
After Legacy Day she goes full rebel to the horror of her sister. Holly is afraid if she doesn't sign that she will disappear. Poppy is determined to tear down the system.
No switched at birth, no "roybel" nonsense, this time their plot is much more centered on royal vs. rebel conflict.
Other fun things about my version:
The majority of the fairy tale world, especially royalty, is heteronormative. But the Fairies and Wonderlandians do not follow that logic. They both have a nonbinary gender and sexuality spectrum.
There are 8 different fairy genders
Bunny is a trans nonbinary boy and is dating Alistair.
Ramona doesn't have the same mom as Cerise. Her mom was the wolf from Peter and the Wolf. She is secretly dating Justine on and off.
Justine is the 10th daughter of the Eldest Dancing Princess and has a younger sister who is in the same grade as the main cast.
Jillian, Ramona, Melody & Justine are all 3rd years.
Helga and Gus are siblings and the kids of Hasel. Helga is a 2nd year and Gus is a first year.
Sparrow and Duchess are childhood friends.
Someone ask me about Maid Marian because I have so much to say about her.
Farrah, Meeshell, and the younger stepsister are first years
Crystal Winter and the older stepsister are allums. They were 3rd years during the main cast's first year.
Nina and Faybelle are dating. This is ok because both come from fairy families.
Ask me about any of the other characters cause I definitely got more. Sorry if this is nonsensical and disorganized. I did my best to get all my thoughts down.

When you've spent too much time with the JJBA community, ". . .My Kaveh a lil too muscular. . ."
But he do he looking like a snack.
Tumblr media
I drew this some time ago, right before his birthday, but forgot to post it here.
A thought occurred to me, Kaveh is probably covered in lean muscle, but the Genshin fandom loves portraying as a weakling. I mean, Scara can toss him around during the inter-Darshan event and Kaveh still came out in one piece, and he does hands-on work building his architecture projects. Alhaitham even complains about Kaveh "hammering away on another one of his projects in the dead of night..." in his Good Night voice-over. Kaveh could probably throw his claymore around if he wanted to. (He does wield it, not only during his plunging attack, but he also holds it at his side during attack interruptions.)
Kaveh looks like a catalyst user, but I'm glad he's a claymore user. He's had some of the most fun game play out of all my characters when you combine all of his elements together, his e skill, burst, and normal/charged attacks. I think claymore, personality-wise, fits Kaveh more anyway. I listened to a Scott Pilgrim vs. the World video where they described Ramona Flower's weapon. It went something along the lines of "her hammer was something powerful and devastating, but also too broad and slow to cause decisive damage. It didn't require too much skill to maneuver, but it still caused a good amount of damage." Kaveh is passionate, caring, and determined in his own right, but it's the weight of his trauma and past that make him indecisive in a way (especially in Alhaitham's eyes). Not saying this applies to all claymore characters, but it was something that resurfaced from my memory after seeing everyone's disappointment in Hoyo making Kaveh a claymore character.
