You were in the broadcast booth ready to report the results of the latest Formula 1 qualifying session. With your notebook and microphone in hand, you were poised to inform the audience about the exciting session results.
"Welcome back to our live broadcast from Silverstone!" you exclaimed cheerfully as you looked into the camera. "I think we should start discussing the results of the qualifying session for tomorrow's Sunday race as soon as possible."
With great enthusiasm and ensuring you had your notes in hand to avoid any mistakes, you began to list the names of the drivers and their positions on the starting grid:
"In first position, with an impressive fast lap, we have Lewis Hamilton, who has once again demonstrated his incredible skills on the track. In second place we have Max Verstappen, who is hot on the heels of the British in the championship standings. And in third position, but no less important, we have Charles Leclerc, whose improvement this season has been phenomenal, something he is quite proud of, as his partner exclusively shared with us."
You continued to read out the names of the drivers and their respective positions. However, you couldn't help but let your mind wander to Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver who she found quite attractive and, at the same time, respected due to his evident disdain towards the media.
"And in the last position, we have our dear Checo Pérez, who is having a fantastic season with Red Bull Racing but, due to an engine failure, was eliminated in Q3. It will undoubtedly be very exciting to see how these men fight for the podium in tomorrow's race!"
You continued to describe the results and the performance the drivers had shown in the qualifying session, highlighting their achievements and the challenges they would face the following day.
When it came time to talk about Max Verstappen, your voice tone changed slightly:
"As for Verstappen, the prodigal son of this new era in the world of motorsport, he has once again demonstrated his incredible talent," you said with as much seriousness as she could muster, "although it was not enough to surpass Hamilton this time."
You tried to stay focused on your speech despite the glances Verstappen was casting from the paddock while responding to other journalists. Without a doubt, Verstappen commanded a lot of respect from you: the fact that he disregarded the work of his future colleagues in the profession caused your considerable disdain, and at times, he could be quite disrespectful. You didn't want to imagine how he would treat you, being just a newbie.
Although it must be noted that you found yourself quite attracted to him.
After finally finishing the live broadcast and interviewing several drivers, with whom she had felt quite comfortable despite her nerves, it was your turn to face Max Verstappen.
"Hello, Max," you greeted the Dutchman. "First of all, I want to congratulate you on your second position in the qualifying."
"It's not the one my team and I were looking for."
You tried to ignore his response, moving on to a different but related question:
"Even though your result isn't what you desired, how do you feel about being in that position?" despite your fear, you dared to continue with the question, "Do you think you'll be able to beat Lewis?"
"I'm here to win," Max replied flippantly, "not to settle for second place."
"I understand, Max," you said, changing the subject, "with the aim of overtaking Hamilton, could you tell us what strategies both you and Red Bull Racing have in mind?"
You didn't need to see the poker face Max had directed at you to know you had overstepped by asking about strategies.
"I don't think that's any of your business."
Without even looking at you or saying goodbye, he turned around seemingly intending to leave the scene.
But Max Verstappen wasn't one to let anyone get the better of him, not even a mere student who didn't know how she was going to earn her degree because, without a doubt, she didn't know how to do her job properly.
"And what about you," he addressed you directly, shocking you in that moment. "What strategy would you propose to me to win the race?"
You had endured situations of underestimation in other newsrooms where you had interned, with quite nasty comments that had made you feel pretty bad. However, the sarcasm from the blue-eyed driver only drew her more to him.
"Maybe he's an asshole," you thought to yourself, "but he's a pretty hot asshole."
"Well…" you began. "Maybe instead of doing good broadcasts or getting top marks, I'll fuck one of you and, besides, gain fame."
Verstappen let out a sardonic laugh as he approached you. There was no doubt that he had not only surprised, but also pleased by what you had said.
"Really?" Max answered, a little excited, "Who would you take right now?"
"You seem like a complete asshole," you told him, "but I have to admit that I find it extremely difficult to ignore you."
"Why's that? Do you like what you see?"
The tension between both of you was more than evident.
You knew you couldn't continue this conversation, at least not in front of journalists, team bosses, and other people.
"If you want to set aside our personal relationship," the driver whispered to you as he lightly brushed your arm, "and get to know me better, prepare a good strategy for tonight."
"Verstappen," you replied, looking him directly in the eyes. "If you win tomorrow's race, don't hesitate to invite me to the private party you're going to throw, and I'll give you a night to make you feel special."
"Alright, Miss I-don't-know-your-name. A victory for one night."
If Max felt motivated to come in first tomorrow to beat Hamilton, now he felt even more so knowing he could have a girl begging for him.

There's one thing about Aziraphale from this scene I keep thinking about and that is his face.
Tumblr media
In the last couple of months I watched some other things with Michael Sheen - Bright Young Things, The Damned United, Prodigal Son, also rewatched Staged, lots of interviews and saw some snippets from Masters of Sex (planning to watch it soon!). And in all of them Michael is an absolutely different person. He is an undeniably great actor. So I guess I can say that like many of you here, I've seen several different faces of Michael Sheen.
Moreover, I saw Good Omens multiple times largely because I've made a few fan vids. There's one I made devoted to Aziraphale in particular for which I rewatched seasons 1 and 2 exclusively looking at Michael's face. It's here.
My point is that that face in the gif is not Aziraphale's face. He's never had such a facial expression, neither before nor after this scene.
It's not a conspiracy theory, I promise. I just wanted to say that I think this is purely Michael's face - the one you sometimes can see in the interviews or in Staged (for obvious reasons, he's more like himself there).
And for me, this short moment is not Aziraphale looking at Crowley with tenderness, but Michael having heart eyes for David. I really love this idea and there's no way someone could convince me otherwise.
And a bonus one:

DTS storyline predictions
Now that the teaser for season 6 is out, here’s a few cents on what storylines DTS s6 is likely to go for.
(Health warning that I don’t think these teammate or driver dynamics are necessarily true in real life, I am simply saying that if I wanted to make a bucketload of money as a Netflix producer this is how I’d overly dramatise events)
1. The Matador: Carlos Sainz the hunter, in the shadow of his own teammate, unloved, hungry, determined; his own team dragging him down with a net named strategy; the prey (his teammate) biting back; the hunter chases the bull and emerges victorious.
2. It’s lonely at the top : Caesar is all-powerful, but the council has knives; over 10 minutes of screentime will be spent on George and Max (dickhead!); checo’s early challenge for the crown at Jeddah; Max’s all out crushing of his competitors’ efforts; Max as a polarising figure.
3. The prodigal son/the resurrection of Lazarus: Daniel Ricciardo’s fall, rehabilitation, and triumphant return; Christian Horner dragging Zak Brown; returning “home” to Red Bull but it’s like a den of wolves (perform or die); THE BROKEN HAND (pain suffering hospital); brief victory at Mexico (Daniel did well that race).
4. The Young Guns: Oscar’s meteoric season vs Nyck’s crash out of F1; Logan struggling to keep his seat; cutthroat Marko vs supportive dad Vowles (Qatar will be milked to death for dangerous conditions).
5. The Old Hands: Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, old rivals, still desperate and hungry like a pair of lions still battling for the top; the inverse fates of Aston Martin falling vs Mercedes rising as the season progresses
6. The Older Sibling and the Prodigy: McLaren’s rollercoaster of a season; Lando’s run of P2 but no wins; Oscar’s sprint race win; jealousy, rivalry, hunger, bitterness.
7. The Civil War: the infighting at Alpine, childhood friends turned rivals turned bitter enemies; Esteban’s no good very bad penalty day; Esteban’s Monaco podium; Pierre’s Zandvoort podium; their no holds barred infighting on radio; team orders; management chaos (Otmar leaving)
8. Man overboard: Mark my words DTS will spend a whole episode on Guenther ending in his abrupt departure from Haas and he will be sent off with 300% more respect than four time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

The music was loud, the sound of the sea was pleasant and the sun warmed the faces of the young people who were on the large beach of the Outer Banks. One of the typical beach parties was held there this Wednesday. The vacations had begun and so the beach was full of Teenagers, tired of sitting still all day in a grey classroom, eager to have fun and forget about homework, exams and pressure on choosing the right College.
You didn't understand the Outer Banks if you didn't know the structure, as there were distinct differences not only among the Outer Banks youth. While some needed three jobs to survive, others owned three houses.
The Pogues, as a group of young people called themselves, had organized the ongoing party and quickly the beach had been filled by young people of all background’s. With the warm weather, most of the Teen’s were magically drawn to the sea and on the small island there were not that much other options to party and spend the night.
"Stop it!" exclaimed Pope, as a cloud of herbal smoke was blown in his face by his buddy. Pope was the most intelligent of the group and sometimes really strange. But that didn't bother his friends. Quite the opposite.
The blond who was now laughing and taking another drag on the joint was JJ. He was an excellent surfer and the troublemaker in the group. In fact he got very often into trouble and loved to provoke. But his friends always helped him out of it. Literally out of anything.
John B toasted the girl sitting next to him in the sand. He was the free spirit and adventurer of the group. He always came up with new ideas on how they could pass the time, even if they were not always so legal.
The girl with the dark curls and sun-kissed skin was Kiara. She was the only one who did not come from a poor background, and even belonged to the richer families. Still, she much preferred hanging out with the Pogues and didn't care much about possessions and wealth. Instead, she was a do-gooder who preferred saving turtles over going shopping. She loved to smoke a joint on the large glazed patio of the Chateau, that has a view of the backyard and the marsh with the guys, instead of talking about the newest season of the new reality show with her girlfriends.
The four of them laughed and teased each other as they drank beer and gradually more and more people came to the beach to party.
"Guys, I swear it will be incredible! We should really go out and surf on the other side“, JJ started the same topic as the day before all over again. His eyes were filled with energy and he couldn’t sit still.
"No, that's way too dangerous. The storms there are unpredictable and in the end no one will find us if we get in trouble," Kiara fended off and Pope immediately agreed with her.
"That's the thrill of it, isn't it? Dude the waves are going to be huge for sure! John B, you're up for it, aren't you? Don’t let me down, Bro!“
It sounded more like a statement than a question. Waiting, he looked at his best friend, who took off his cap, then put it back on, a gentle smile on his lips. The freckles on his cheeks glowing.
"Well, I’m in. Sounds like fun."
"Nice!" escaped JJ, while Kiara just shook her head in annoyance. Then Pope suddenly raised his eyes and seemed to spot something at the edge of the dune. As JJ and Kiara continued to argue, John B also noticed what he was looking at.
"Guys, the Kooks!" he muttered, clearly annoyed.
"That's exactly what we needed..." sighed Kiara sarcastically, and JJ stood up, beer in hand, to get a better look. Already tense and ready to throw himself in a fight. John stood next to him while Pope and Kiara remained seated. Both were already dreading another confrontation between JJ and the hated rich Kooks.
"That's Topper and Sarah," John B stated, to which Kiara just raised her eyebrows and crossed her arms.
"Someone else is coming," Pope remarked, and sure enough:
Behind Sarah Cameron, the current Kook princess and her boyfriend, two more people appeared.
"That's Rafe, but who the hell is that girl?" now asked Kiara, stretching her neck curiously.
"I don't know, but she's hot," JJ muttered, staring with John B in the direction where the Kooks were now walking across the beach.
"Hot as hell," John B added overwhelmed, continuing to watch the girl.
She had raven black hair that fell in many small curls over her shoulders, shimmering like wet ink in the sun. Her skin was tanned and possessed a bronze glow. She was not particularly tall, but slender and of athletic build, so even Pope looked curiously in her direction.
JJ's gaze was still wandering over her body when she had already turned to face them.
"Isn't that Skylar?" gasped Kiara, who was now staring in disbelief.
"Sky Diaz?" asked John B, elbowing JJ in the side as the Kooks moved closer to get him to stop staring. Topper had an arm around Sarah while the new girl chatted boisterously with Rafe. Her unusual appearance made her stand out from the blonde Kooks, and her style of dress was also quite different.
She wore a plaid pleated skirt that reached halfway down her thighs and loose white top, barely covering her belly and slim waist, with her black bikini top peeking through. She looked like she had been pulled straight out of an 80's rock and roll movie. JJ instantly was reminded of those musical-films Kiara forced them to watch, in which all of the guys had ridiculous hairstyles but the women always looked mysteriously beautiful.
"Is that really her? Diaz moved to Nassau over one year ago, didn't she?" pondered Pope aloud.
"Maybe she's vacationing here?" speculated John B.
Kiara shook her head.
"No, not after everything that happened. You don't take a vacation on Kildare after an incident like that. She must be living here again."
Now the Kooks were within range and looking around. Rafe gave the Pogues a disparaging look and Topper also stared warningly at JJ. Up close, it was now clear that Skylar Diaz was indeed standing in front of them. The amber eyes and full red lips were unmistakable. Even though she had changed considerably and her figure had become more feminine.
Even back then Sky had been pretty, but now they could see she had grown into a unbelievable beautiful young woman. JJ always hated the fact that she had everything. She was rich, adored and freaking beautiful. It wasn’t fair.
"Looks like you're going to have to give up your throne again, Cameron!" now JJ called out to Sarah, who just rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"The same rats as before," Rafe remarked, pointing at the Pogues as if they were animals behind a glass in the zoo.
Sky smirked mildly and regarded the Pogues briefly. Her gaze lingered a second longer on the cheeky blond, and it was then that she recognized him.
"What are you doing back here?" now asked Kie coolly, who had now also stood up. Back then Sarah, Sky and she had been best friends. But then she had moved away after the incident and the friendship between Sarah and Kie broke like thin glass.
"I'm living here again. My stepfather found new work on Kildare," she explained tersely, trying to ignore JJ's piercing gaze.
However, he put on an uninterested expression. Yea she was fuming hot and seemed to be even more confident and charming, but after all, she was still a stupid Kook. Her family was even richer than the Camerons and she was even more arrogant than all the rest thrown together, so she had been the leader of the Kooks back then and JJ's personal nemesis. The hatred between the Pogues and the Kooks had been current before, too. All Kooks thought the Pogues were filthy scum and the Pogues had the same opinion of the rich Kooks.
She tossed her hair back and turned around without saying another word to them. As if they weren't worthy of her attention. Then she walked over to the rest of the Kooks and was greeted with delight.
The evening took its course and there was drinking, laughing and dancing. Music blared from several speakers brought in by a couple of Kooks.
The sun beat down mercilessly on the sand, so that it was still warm even when it had long since sunk into the sea like a long lost wreck.
The Pogues were chatting animatedly with others from the Cut and JJ was drinking with a couple of tourists. A typical evening, as it had been so many times before, but the arrival of the Kook Princess, the royalty of Kildare, soon stirred up more than just a lot of sand, and JJ had a feeling that this summer was not going to be as ordinary as they had originally thought.

I know you're christian so if it's okay to ask:
What christian themes do you like being explored in media?
What conversations between different aspects of christianity do you wanna see portrayed?
Do you enjoy Jesus-like characters?
Are there any movies, shows, or books that reflect or represent your values and faith?
Hi Gloomybadger!
I don't mind being asked about my religion.
1.I really enjoy the themes of forgiveness being explored. The good example is Iroh and Zuko from ATLA which mirrors the Prodigal Son parable perfectly. I also love watching the trope of the power of love overcoming death.
Forgot to mention the Salvation/Redemption troupe like with Viren in The Dragon Prince. I enjoyed watching his slow redemption arc as he eventually broke free from Aaravos and found peace at the end. (Hopefully Claudia too if we get that next saga.)
2.I want to see Spiritual Warfare more in media, not just priests exorcising a demon. There are different ways to do it in the different dominations of Christianity, but the mainstream media only really shows the Catholic version.
3.I don't mind Christ-like characters as long as they are respectful. Superman is a good example. He is from the house of El, which is another name for God in the Bible. He's very powerful but humbles himself and protects those weaker than him. I also appreciate they gave Superman a weakness in Kryptonite because only Jesus is all powerful. I also love Aslan from Narnia who is literally Lion Jesus. The metaphors are beautiful.
However, I don't like it when media make characters Christ-like in blasphemous ways like Viktor from Arcane season 2. He was modeled differently in the games, using his inventions to heal people instead of his mystical powers, so the writers portrayed it like this purely for aesthetics. Then they had Viktor form a cult that destroyed the world. Very disrespectful. They wouldn't have portrayed that with a Buddha or Muhammad figure, so they shouldn't with Christ either. (But Hollywood's double standard when it comes to Christianity is a whole other can of worms.)
4.The Chronicles of Narina is an excellent source. Also Iroh and Zuko's journey in ATLA. The show is heavily inspired by Eastern religions, but it also has some Christian values it displays well. And I love how Nightcrawler, a canonical priest, is portrayed in X-men 97.
Thanks for the ask!

I am officially obsessed with Brilliant Minds. Might be new favorite currently airing show. CANON GAY DOCTOR SHOW??? YESSS PLZZZ
It’s got the medical vibes of House: unique doctor, unique cases only unique doctor can solve, doctor has reluctant team, a few key coworkers/friends. Motorcycles, coma patients that unique doctor talks to.
It also has Prodigal Son vibes in its traumatic Dr. Wolf backstory and how they set up the flashbacks for Wolf and his father.
So if you liked either of those shows you’re in for a treat.
Also also also I’ve been saying since episode 2 that Wolf and Nichols are being written as the lead character doctor romance that is obligatory for doctor shows. The writing just really screams future love interests. I will take no other opinions at this time :p And I’m here for it. I love both Wolf and Nichols and I think they will make an interesting couple.
Now I’m not sure how slow burn the show will want to go as we just saw in episode 5 Nichols finally warming up to Wolf after his speech to the military peeps on Steve’s behalf, but the options I see are either a first date around the season 1 finale. Or slow burn it classic style and take a couple seasons with pining, jealousy arcs with dating other people, and lots of obvious feelings before getting together. I’m not sure which I wanna see more as I really want to see them as a couple but I also love a good classic good slow burn (think Booth and Bones) even if it’s often torture.

Fic idea 911 x Prodigal Son
I watched Mindgamers (2017) that stars Oliver Stark and Tom Payne. It's a ridiculous movie. Oliver Stark's character is a bit allergic to shirts.
Tumblr media
But now I want Buck and Malcolm to have been friends in their youth.
Just knock the Buckleys into a higher tax bracket after they moved and they could run in the same circles as the Whitly/Bright family. They were friends for years even if Buck's parents didn't like him associating with the son of a killer.
Malcolm is older by a few years since he was born around 1988. They kept in contact via email after Malcolm went to college, even visiting a few times. And when Buck does his traveling thing Malcolm loans him some money even when Buck tries to turn it down. Malcolm manipulates Buck into accepting the money saying he wants his father's blood money helping someone instead of gathering dust.
Malcolm was dealing with his father's shenanigans when Buck was dealing with bombing/tsunami (seasons 1-2 of Prodigal Son take place in '19-'21). So the timing works pretty well for that excuse.
But Malcolm shows up for the award ceremony. He is happy to meet Tommy.
"Yeah, I did have my suspicion you weren't straight. You had a pretty obvious crush on me when you were fifteen, Evan."
"What!?! I didn't...oh I had a crush on you."
Tommy and Eddie find the whole thing funny.
A friendship between Eddie and Malcolm develops too. Bonding over parental issues and mental health issues. Then over Eddie discovering demisexuality because Malcolm explains he is.
Athena gets a phone call from Gil asking her to keep an eye on Malcolm because trouble follows him.
Gerrard was not prepared for the psychological warfare that Malcolm Bright advises the 118 on. He retires quickly.
