The Boy Is Mine
Miles Morales x Black Fem Spider-person Reader v Gwen Stacy.
Summary: He saved you and She didn’t want to and maybe she was right because the boy is now yours.
WARNINGS: Fighting, bad words, I think that’s it.
A/n: I was tied!!! Of seeing Miles cheat with Gwen so I took matters into my own hands. This is probably one of the best stories I’ve ever written too so don’t skip. I had so much fun writing this.
For the past 2 years, you've been the one and only Spider-woman. Everyone knows the story by now, bitten by a radioactive spider, and now you spend your time protecting the city. Everything was going great. Or that's what you wanted to believe as you fought Wilson Fisk, a person who is supposed to be behind bars. This Wilson was different - bigger, stronger, he was giving you a run for your money.
"What have they been feeding you at the Raft, Willie?" You quipped as you dodged a punch. "Haha, missed me," you said, landing a punch combo to his jaw.
"You stupid spiders are always in the way," he said, managing to catch you off guard, knocking you back. This fight is definitely gonna take a while.
"Who are you anyway, where's Spider-Man?" Fisk asked, walking menacingly toward you as you lay on the floor to catch a breath.
"I don't get paid enough for this," you said, getting up, squaring up with the large man.
Spider-Man, what are you talking about, Fisk?" You asked the man leaping backwards, dodging all of his hits.
"Enough of this talk, this ends now," Fisk said, running toward you. You charged back, your fist balled, about to strike, but he dodged and caught you by your throat.
"Another spider under my belt," Fisk said, laughing as he squeezed your throat. Gasping for air, you tried your best to break free from his grip, but your vision began to fade out. Your strength left you, and your eyes began to close. All you wanted to do was sleep, but you blinked your eyes again. Maybe you were hallucinating from the lack of oxygen, but a portal with glowing lights appeared, and two other spider personas flew forward, knocking Fisk out. You dropped to the floor, gasping for air, but still fainted in the process.
You probably weren't out for long, but you heard faint voices, a female and a male.
"What do we do, Gwen? We can't just leave her here."
"Miles, what are we supposed to do? We can't take her back to HQ."
You were too weak to actually open your eyes to see who was talking. Too weak to stop them from kidnapping you and taking you to wherever HQ was. You tried to let out a small groan, but it was useless.
"That's exactly what we need to do, Gwen. She needs medical care."
"Ughhh.... Fine, you grab her."
You heard footsteps move towards you, and your body being lifted before you succumbed to the darkness around you again.
✨HQ✨
Your bloodshot eyes shot open as you sat up, feeling around for your mask that wasn't on your face. You heard the fast-paced beeping of a heart monitor, letting you know your heart rate was up as you ripped all the pads off of you, standing ready to leave the room before two people came walking inside. You immediately got in defense mode as you studied them - an older man in a blue suit with a spider on the front, and a younger boy about your age in a black suit, also with a spider on the front.
"Where the fuck am I, and who are you?" you said, pointing.
"Welcome to HQ, Spiderwoman. I'm Spider-Man, and he's Spider-Man. Glad you survived. Miles, I'll leave you to it," the older man in the blue suit said, walking away.
Miles walked closer to you, setting off your spider senses. You closed one of your eyes, moving your head to the side, resting your hand on your head. "Don't come any closer," you said.
You're probably not used to that, but you're like me, it does that sometimes. I'm Miles.
"Yeah, I got that from earlier," you said, flopping back on the hospital cot, still very much in pain.
Miles wasn't in the room when they took off your mask, so this was the first time he saw your face. He scanned every detail of your face, taking in the way your plump lips formed into a natural pout, or maybe that was just because you were in pain. The way your brown eyes sparkled under the bright white light, he couldn't help but be captivated by your gaze. He loved your braids and the way your pink beads rattled every time you moved.
Miles felt something stir in the pit of his stomach the longer he looked at you. Maybe it was just gas from the spicy food he ate earlier, he thought, in denial of the growing attraction he felt for a stranger.
"Well, aren't you gonna tell me your name?" Miles finally mustered the courage to ask.
You turned to face him, the pain momentarily forgotten as you observed his silly smirk. You weren't usually the friendliest person, but there was something about Miles that felt different, something that made you want to open up.
"I'm Y/n," you replied, a small smile tugging at the corner of your lips.
Nice to meet you Y/n," Miles said, offering his hand. You looked at it. "I'd shake your hand, but I'm in too much pain right now," you said, causing both of you to laugh. There it was, that fluttering feeling in the pit of Miles' stomach again as he watched a beautiful smile grace your face.
"So, what is this place and why am I here?" you asked Miles, curiosity shining in your eyes. "This is the Spider Society. We brought you here because you were in bad shape from fighting Fisk," Miles explained. You coughed a bit. "Yup, he whooped my ass," you said, making both you and Miles burst into laughter again.
Unbeknownst to the two of you, Gwen stood outside the door, her eyes fixed on the scene unfolding inside. With each word you said to Miles, with each chuckle you elicited from him, the flames of jealousy ignited within her. Unable to bear it any longer, she burst into the room, startling both you and Miles.
"What the fuck? You didn't even have to do all that, shawty," You exclaimed. Miles stood up, a look of surprise on his face. "Gwen, this is Y/n, Spider-woman, the one we helped," he explained, pointing toward you.
"Oh, hi. I'm glad you're okay," Gwen said, her words laced with a hint of insincerity.
This your girl Miles ?" You asked.
"No, no." They both said in unison dragging their o's. It was obvious to you that there was more to the story by the way she busted into the room but that was none of your business.
"Well, it was nice to meet you, Y/n. We should get going," Gwen said, gently tugging Miles towards the door.
Before leaving, Miles tossed you a watch that you effortlessly caught. "Maybe we can see each other again," he said, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. You smiled, watching him walk away.
"Hmmm," you hummed, examining the watch before clasping it onto your wrist. "Maybe we will, Spider-Man."
As Gwen and Miles made their way through the headquarters, Miles couldn't ignore Gwen's evident distress. He studied her face and body language. He called out to her, "Gwen?"
Getting no response, Miles tried a sing-songy voice, calling her name once more. "What, Miles?" she replied, her voice tinged with bitterness.
"I know you're upset. Do you want to talk or not?" Miles asked, genuinely wanting to understand what was bothering her.
"Why don't you go talk to Y/n?"
"Gwen, are you serious? I barely know her, but she's a cool girl," Miles defended, trying to reassure her.
"Oh, she's cool now?" Gwen's tone dripped with sarcasm and doubt.
Miles gently reached for Gwen's hand, stopping her in her tracks, making her face him directly. "Look, Gwen, you don't have to worry about her, okay?" he said softly.
Gwen's expression softened, and she nodded, a flicker of trust returning to her eyes. "Alright, Miles. She said giving him a small punch to the shoulder.
✨The Mission✨
You were back in your dimension 2 days post fight with Fisk feeling good as new. You were in bed, examining the watch Miles gave you, when a hologram of a woman appeared, making you scream.
"Oh hey there new recruit, I'm Lyla," she said, waving.
"Hi... Lyla," you said slowly, waving back.
"Sorry to scare you, but the boss needs you at HQ, your first mission... Yayyyy, so suit up," she said before disappearing.
"Uh, okay," you said, slipping into your skintight suit and mask, slapping on your watch, struggling to find out how to get it to work because no one gave you a tutorial. But you managed using your genius brain and stepped through the portal, gracefully landing in a dark room with monitors.
"Great, you're here......Miles!" the man you were familiar with but never got his name called out.
From the shadows, Miles emerged with a smile on his face. "Good to see you again, Mamita," he said.
"Oh, we're using pet names now?" you said, matching his flirty energy.
"That's enough," Miguel said as he stood before you two. "Anomaly in Earth 746, catch it."
"Anomaly?" you questioned.
"I'll tell you all about it later," Miles said, grabbing your hand, opening a portal, and pulling you through.
You dusted off your hands. The mission went well, a little too well, especially for a Goblin mission.
"You're pretty good, Miles."
"You too, Mamita. Gotta say, I doubted you a little after the Fisk fight," he teased.
"Oh, whatever," you said, rolling your eyes, chuckling a bit.
You moved closer to Miles, mere inches between you two, as you ran your fingers along his jawline.
Miles' breath hitched as you touched him, his hazel eyes expressing the tension between you two. There was no denying that Miles was handsome, and you were eager to learn more about him.
"So what dimension are you from, Papa?" you asked playfully, a flirtatious smile gracing your lips.
"1610. Maybe we could go there?" Miles responded, his voice filled with anticipation.
"Take a girl on a date first, Miles," you laughed, teasing him gently.
"No, I didn't mean it like that. I..." Miles stammered, trying to explain himself.
"I would love to see your dimension, Miles," you interrupted, cutting him off.
And so, Miles took you to his dimension.
"This is Brooklyn." Miles said as you two stood atop the Williamsburg Bank building, you marveled at the city below. It was similar to your own home, yet distinctly different. Miles watched in awe as your eyes sparkled at the city, feeling a flutter in his stomach.
"It's beautiful, Miles," you whispered, taking a seat to soak in the view.
He walked forward and sat beside you, his face beaming with joy. You turned towards him, a warm smile on your lips.
"So, what's your story, big head?" you asked, playfully leaning on him.
"My story?" Miles responded, a hint of surprise in his voice.
"You're Spider-Man, Miles. What's your origin?" you asked , curious him.
"You know, regular Spider-Man stuff. I gained my powers and now I fight bad guys," Miles answered, a humble tone in his voice.
"That's not what I meant," you said, giving him a small shove. "What's the real story? I was bitten by a radioactive spider too, two years ago on a field trip to Oscorp. Your world doesn't seem to have Oscorp." You sighed, frustration and sadness mixing in your voice. "I got these crazy powers that I didn't know what to do with, so I decided to keep them a secret and pretend that I was a regular kid."
The weight of your words hung heavy in the air as you choked up, memories flooding back. Miles noticed your distress and perked up. "It's okay, you don't have to share if you don't want to," he said, trying to comfort you.
But something compelled you to open up, to let go of the burden you had been carrying alone for so long. You rested your hand gently on top of his. "I pretended to be some regular kid, and that led to me losing my mom. And from then on, I decided to help everyone else," you finished.
Miles's heart stung as he listened to your story. "I lost someone close to me too, my uncle Aaron. He was shot saving me," he shared, the pain evident in his voice.
A sense of understanding and connection washed over you both. You leaned your head on his shoulder. "See, that's your story, Papa," you said softly, appreciating the bond that formed between you. "You know, Miles, it's so nice to have someone to talk about this stuff with now," you added, gazing at the sun setting on the horizon.
That moment solidified your blooming relationship with Miles. Whenever you had free time, you would pop into his dimension, and vice versa. Now, in your suit, you found yourself in dimension 1610, patiently waiting for Miles to catch up as you swung through the bustling city.
"Keep up, Miles," you teased, a mischievous glint in your eyes as you effortlessly jumped from building to building, landing with grace. The two of you were headed back to his house, where Jeff and Rio, his parents, adored you and had grown fond to your presence after all the time you spent with Miles.
They couldn't wrap their head around the whole different dimension thing and just assumed Miles' imagination had run wild. You two walked through his front door.
"Hey Mama Rio," you greeted Miles' mom.
"Hey Mija."
"Hey Mom," Miles said, hugging his mom before the two of you walked into his room. You two were too caught up in conversation to notice a guest. Gwen. She cleared her throat, making you two snap your attention towards her.
"Gwen, hey," Miles said nervously. "What are you - what are you doing here?"
"I came to see you because I barely see you anymore, but now I know why," Gwen answered.
You snickered a bit, knowing you essentially snatched Miles from Gwen.
"Oh, that's funny?" Gwen asked.
You threw your hands up in surrender, not wanting to get into it with her.
"We were about to watch a movie, order some pizza. You can stay if you want," Miles offered to pacify Gwen, but he was hoping she'd turn it down. He cherished his alone time with you.
"No, it's fine, Miles. I'll leave," Gwen said with a hint of frustration in her voice.
"Uh, okay. Bye," Miles said
"Bye, Gwendolyn," you added, unable to hide the small smirk on your face.
Gwen turned to you and asked, "You know what, can we talk outside, Y/n?"
Rolling your eyes, you agreed, "Sure, why not?" You grabbed Miles' hand, signaling for him to come along.
"Alone," Gwen insisted, her tone unwavering.
"Okay... I'll be back, papa," you said to Miles, giving him a smile and a pat on the cheek.
As you followed Gwen out of the window and onto the roof, you could feel the tension building up. Once you reached a secluded corner, she turned to face you, arms folded.
"What is your problem?" she asked, her voice filled with accusation.
"Girl, what are you talking about?" you answered defensively.
"Miles," she replied, her tone laced with frustration.
"What about him? He's fine, great even," you said, walking closer to her.
"Don't play dumb, Y/n," Gwen snapped.
"What are you getting at, Gwen?" you said, your tone becoming pointed as you grew tired of the conversation.
"He's mine, Y/n, and you're trying to steal him away," her voice filled with possessiveness.
You couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Yours?" you asked, shaking your head. "Gwen, you lost him the day you two saved me."
As the words left your mouth, the truth hung heavy in the air. Gwen had been holding onto her feelings for Miles while pretending everything was okay. But deep down, she knew that the connection between you and Miles was undeniable.
What you didn't see coming was a slap across your face from Gwen, not thinking she was bold enough to do it. The sting of her actions lingered in the air as shock resonated through your entire being. And what Gwen didn't see was Miles, camouflaged and watching you two from a distance. He didn't hear anything you two talked about, but he sure did see the slap.
As the pain subsided, you didn't retaliate. Deep down, you and Gwen both knew that you had won this battle, that Miles was now dedicated to you.
"Why would you do that, Gwen?" You heard a voice behind you, and turned to see Miles standing there, his eyes filled with disappointment.
You watched in satisfaction as Gwen's eyes widened, realizing that she had not only hurt you but also jeopardized her chances with Miles. She had unknowingly made it even easier for you to snatch his affection away from her.
"Miles, I..." Gwen stammered, unable to find the right words to justify her actions.
"Why would you hit her?" Miles asked, his voice filled with a mix of anger and hurt.
"You didn't hear what she said, Miles. She's trying to tear us apart. You were mine," Gwen spewed out, desperately clinging to her fading hopes.
"Yours? I'm not some object, Gwen," Miles retorted, his voice laced with disappointment. "Is that why you brought her outside? To hit her?"
A heavy silence hung in the air as Gwen struggled to find an explanation, her words failing her. The truth had been laid bare, and Miles saw her for who she truly was.
"Save it, Gwen," Miles said, his voice firm. "You just showed me the type of person you really are. I've been pining after you for months, and you always brushed me off. But now, now I have someone who actually likes me back."
With those words, he took your hand, intertwining your fingers with his.
You looked at Gwen, a smug look on your face as you squeezed Miles' hand tighter.
"You don't mean that, Miles."Gwen said.
"Yes, I do," Miles turned to you. "She likes me back, and she's the most caring, sweetest, funniest person in this dimension and every other," Miles said, making you tear up a bit, your lip bottom poking out.
"You're so cute when you do that," Miles said.
Gwen watched as her heart slowly broke. She had played with Miles, but now she had lost the game. She wanted to look away, but she couldn't. She should be the one he said all those things to. The tears pricked her eyes.
"Y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" The words echoed in Gwen's head, the final blow that made her tears roll down her face.
"Of course, I will, papa," you said, jumping on Miles and giving him a tight hug before pulling back and giving him a big kiss, your first one in front of his former crush.
You and Miles turned to Gwen, watching as she continued to cry.
"You should go, Gwen," you said, your heart aching a bit for the girl, but not a lot.
Miles grabbed your hand as the two of you walked off toward the stairwell, leaving Gwen behind.

So like, in the finale there's that shot where the Vees are in Val's section in the Vee Tower, and there's VERY OBVIOUSLY AN OLD PHOTO OF VOX AND ALASTOR
and obviously i have some thoughts and ideas about that BUT I was listening to the song again and I couldn't help but have my eyes drawn to the top left corner... zooom... enhance.... rotate...
VALENTINO SELF PORTRAIT SPOTTED? Because even though I think that's Vox's handwriting, I definitely don't think it's his art, because we've already seen his art and uh, yeah it's definitely not on this level of detail
kinda just sitting here now thinking about... you go up to Val's office at the studio to drop off something someone else asked you to deliver, but he's not there, so you set it down on his desk and can't help but find your eyes drawn to a notebook sitting on a side table with a bunch of pencils next to it and... you can't help but take a peek... and it's surprising how many different drawings are in there and you find it actually pretty impressive, but as you keep flipping the pages, it's like "OH, a drawing of me! That's... kinda weird but it looks so nice! And another of me! And... another... and another... and another... and why do these all have so much detail..."
You basically catch him with the equivalent of Miles Morales' sketchbook full of Gwen and OF COURSE when you close it to turn around and leave, OF COURSE he's behind you and he's SO EMBARRASSED because oh my GOD, you can't just look in an artist's sketchbook without asking?! That's private! He's just, red in the face, flustered, frazzled, squeaking, shouting at you asking what you think you're doing. I just picture you try to calm him down, "I didn't mean to look but your sketches are really good! I'm sorry, I got curious 🥺 I promise it won't happen again" and he's crossing his arms and his antenna are twitching and he's just pouting and grumbling, "just don't fucking do it again" and you avoid being maimed because, aw you complimented him he loves that ❤️
that awkward moment when you open a random sketchbook full of drawings and it turns out to be full of like straight up fucking FILTH, of YOU. Like maybe you're doing PA stuff in Vee Tower and Vox lost a journal full of contact info for something and you're poking around in Val's tower helping look for it because, well, Vox asked you for help! It's kind of an honor! This guy's an Overlord and you got the go ahead to poke around his house to help him look for something! So you're glancing at papers and finally picking up The Sketchbook, and... it's everything from just doodles of you chilling just sitting doing normal shit like being on your phone or asleep in the limo, to potential outfit ideas like DETAILED CUSTOM outfit ideas with TWO different sets of handwriting in the margins, to just straight up PORN. Sketches of you in bondage, tied up, gagged, in spreader bars, on your knees with your mouth gaping open with painfully familiar pink cursive handwriting in a speech bubble where 'you' are begging to taste the viewer, mouth open, tongue hanging out with a trail of spit connecting both of your lips--
AND THE BOOK IS SNATCHED OUT OF YOUR HANDS AS YOU SPIN AROUND TO SEE VALENTINO and he's all but like INFLATED with embarrassment, fur bunching up, antenna flailing, at a loss for words as he looks between you and his sketchbook like he is CAUGHT IN 4K. He would probably completelt deflect and try to act like you snooping is the bigger deal meanwhile you're like "hey dude was that like a full color fully shaded drawing of me in a custom coat that matches your wings and we're making out--" and you wind up having to just scurry away as he becomes incoherently angry and flustered and maybe even threatening you if you don't get out of his room RIGHT FUCKING NOW--
The next time you go to work your shift serving him drinks, he's shoving an outfit at you that you recognize from the sketchbook, a new uniform, and you can't help but notice Velvette looking you over as you serve the Vees drinks, almost as if she's admiring her handiwork...

Happy @podcastgirlsweek to all who celebrate! While I haven't had the time to properly work on fics (and probably won't this week because oops, hurt my hands yesterday) I still wanted to take the time to highlight some favorite podcast girlies along with everyone else!
The prompt for Monday is highlighting podcasts with women in the leading roles, so here's a few of mine (and hopefully, some new ones of yours if you don't know them yet):
Back Again, Back Again: Ilyaas, you absolutely fantastic disaster of a fantasy ace, never stop trying.
Breathing Space: While the show is anthology with a rotating cast, some of my favorites from across its run include:
Evie Yuriskin
Amity Archer
Any characters who were introduced one episode and then started referring to each other as "my wife" by the end or by their next appearance
Camlann: Some apocalypse survivors interpret dangerous dreams about dark magic to cope. Some knit sweaters. Both are valid and should kiss.
City of Ghosts: Featuring the grungy, disgruntled, tormented-by-visions LADY detective of your dreams.
Desperado: Take note - give your ladies knives. And god powers. And witchcraft. And a sniper rifle, for good measure.
Do You Copy?: I think [REDACTED] deserves three weeks of paid vacation
Fawx & Stallion: Madge Stallion is THE moment. She's six feet tall. She can't stop making innuendos. She's not your fucking Mrs. Hudson (although, she is - no, I shan't say).
Hi Nay: Mari & Laura are my everything - the loving and self-sacrificing hero and the newfound friend who chooses to stand by her side (fire axe and all).
Inn Between: Oh, my Inn Between girlies, where do I start? Fina and Betty, the OGs and life partners that even death couldn't stall? Rosie and Zara, the new best pals who chose to stay together? Phoebe, just one step at a time learning what she deserves and what she doesn't? All impeccable, A+.
It Makes A Sound: Any show focused on music is going to be a slam dunk for me, but Deirdre's quest to reclaim her memories as well as those that tied her to her mother is so damn real and compelling.
The Kingmaker Histories: No female character in this show has ever done anything wrong. Colette gets a migraine pass. Ariadne can turn people inside out. Daphne is owed this for working in a theme park.
Life With LEO(h): Janiiiiiine, so messy and smart and dedicated and she cares so much, I love yoooooou.
Me and AU: Kate's worries and desires and doubts are some of the realest out of any audio drama so when do I find an Ella too
Palimpsest: My faaaaavorite gothic horror anthology, each one fresh with a different brand of haunted, tormented, secret-keeping (and quite frequently gay) gothic protagonist
The Pasithea Powder: Jane and Sophie. Sophie and Jane. What more could you need? <3
The Silt Verses: Women who start cults/leave cults/seek an end to the endless cycle of meaningless sacrifice as so valid. For all your wet cat(fish) woman needs.
Second Star to the Left: Because I always love a good Ishani performance. Hi Gwen, please tell Boots I love them.
Small Victories: You want sad wet cat women? How about one that literally can't stop self-sabotaging (but at least manages to draw the line at sabotaging others...occasionally). She even gets stabbed!
Starfall: I mean, kind of a given, but anyway, Leona definitely exists because she's the kind of action protagonist woman I always wanted - one that could be unapologetically powerful, but still full of flaws and desires (especially ones that weren't about falling in love and minimizing her own strengths). She's even autistic!
Stories From Ylelmore: Keryth! Keryth, Keryth, Keryth! She reminds me so much of the kinds of characters I would make up when I was younger - I love her and her small magic so dearly.
The Strange Case of Starship Iris: Hi queer space pirates <3
Unseen: Another anthology show, but Harry Winters and Never-Ending Circles remains one of the most perfect premiere episodes I've ever heard in audio drama.
The Way We Haunt Now: Get your podcast ladies here, dead or alive!
We Fix Space Junk: My favorite type of repairman is a woman who could kick my ass.
Wolf 359: I don't think I need say much more here - y'all know and love 'em just as much as I do.

wait actually let me explain how stupid the timeline for CJ is.
Jason is given to Lupa at 2
We time skip and Jason already in the fifth cohort this happened sometime between his 4th birthday to twelfth.
Reyna arrives one year later, Octavian is presumably a already there too along with Dakota, Gwen & Bobby.
The Charleston quest happens with Reyna and Jason and (?) either Jason or Reyna are already centurion or (?) is
Jason strangles the Trojan Sea Monster
…Either Jason or Reyna become Centurions or both if the (?) was the centurion on the quest.
At ~15 Jason is scouting with several others to storm mount Otherys, Reyna is presumably a few months into be being praetor despite it being only three years despite long-timers Jason and Octavian who are very influential just not having that position.
Same three days as TLO the Romans storm Mount Otherys, presumably losing many people and having no ‘hey claim your fucking kids’ should lack the ability to make up the numbers.
~Jason is made Praetor, probably after hacking Krios to bits with zero godly intervention except maybe Hera at one point. (save jason and kill thalia type of deal which fits her)
~Two weeks later Nico shows up with Hazel and Thanatos goes missing around the same time (no one died in that time? Not from festering wounds or attempted suicide after the battle they just witnessed??)
~December, Jason goes missing could also be late November for Hera to properly gaslight Leo and Piper and get them in place.
No one goes looking for Jason despite it being 3 days to a month of him being gone outside of California because *superstition*
Presumably, the Camp continues to function for 7-9 months without a 2nd Praetor especially one of their more powerful ones with direct ties to Juno just not being there
Hazel becomes a full blown member (the good shit)
Frank arrives two weeks after his mom’s funeral….That’s not long enough?? Percy probably stayed with Lupa for at least a month for him to learn all that, Frank should be there later than Percy, the same time as Percy or Rick should fix his timeline issues.
All of Jason’s work for the past 6-12 years has just vanished into thin air in 7-9 months and no one tries to hold on to his ideas for camp.
Yeah, I don’t completely understand the timeline either. The first 10 years of Jason’s CJ is so mysterious and we don’t even know what was Reyna’s cohort or centurion despite it probably playing a role of why she so quickly rose to praetorship. I personally go with her Cohort being the Second and her centurion being a descendent of Jupiter and later on Bellona giving him some weight to put behind Reyna as his successor.
Frank’s little timeline weirdness is mostly not taking into account the distance between Canada and California along with the timeline Rick gave Percy who is usually the prodigy in picking up skills. This is why i’m trying to pepper in events in my HOO collection on Ao3 because there is nothing. Fucking nothing and it’s stressing me out.

NSFW Questions About Gwen's Big Five - Part One
Questions are taken from this. The original poster deactivated their account, so it's the reblog that is linked. All the questions are modified and some are removed (either because the question had already been answered or because it referred to hetero relations.)
NSFW Questions About Gwen's Big Five Masterlist
Happy Friday! Starting off the weekend in the best way possible with some smexy questions for the Big Five we all know and love. A beautiful joint effort between @daydream-cement and I. With the occasional assistance from dear @na-shoba. The last time me and Kaley did one of these, we went back and forth, however, this time, she has stubbornly told me to post all the parts since she posts the Bri and Mir fics. So I will be your NSFW question dealer this time. Enjoy!
When did they lose their virginity?
Brienne: Late twenties if she ends up finding a partner. Or never.
Larissa: 17
Lucifer: Virginity is a construct.
Phasma: 18. That’s the only time she remembers anyways. When she turned 18, she fucked every one of her fellow female troopers that saw her face or saw her remotely undressed, if they didn’t take the bait and refused sex, threatening them to silence always worked. It was a way to “keep them quiet,” and “ensure their silence.” Also, if they raked their eyes over her body in any way, shape, or form. All consensual, of course.
Miranda: 20
Do they prefer rough sex or soft sex?
Brienne: Nine times out of ten she prefers soft sex. She will rarely like rough sex, if ever, and will only do it once or twice for her partner on special occasions if they really like it. She undermines her own strength many times and ends up hurting them involuntarily. So she likes it soft when giving and receiving.
Larissa: Depends. Really likes rougher sex if she is bottoming.
Lucifer: Yes.
Phasma: Rough when giving (which is always). And whichever when receiving (which is never, unless she has a partner, then it’s once a year).
Miranda: Soft when giving. Depends when receiving.
Do they have any kinks/fetishes?
Brienne: Praise kink with light degradation.
Larissa: Loves relinquishing control. Praise kink with light degradation.
Lucifer: The Wing Thing™
Phasma: Degradation to the max! Heavy degradation, light praise, biting, edging, voyeurist & exhibitionist (in her quarters with her watching, or her having someone watch her, always willing partners. Power play, and such). BDSM (blindfolds, face slapping, flogging/whipping, gagging, handcuffs, physical restraints), anything that would give her extreme power and domination (discipline, forced orgasm, orgasm control, orgasm denial, having a sex slave (if she’s not in a relationship)), spit kink, sadism (adding this again to accentuate). Most of these are dialed down/removed if she has a romantic partner.
Miranda: Loves overstimulation and loads of foreplay. Praise kink.
Weirdest place they’ve had sex?
Brienne: Carriage in olden times. Car in modern times. However, because of her height, it gets uncomfortable quickly. And it only happened once because of an extreme sex emergency.
Larissa: School library in college. She and a friend were working on a school project and before she knew it, they were making out and they did ‘hand stuff’ in the educational theory section.
Lucifer: Hell’s gardens
Phasma: Control room.
Miranda: Supply closet at work after hours. A visiting detective seduced her and introduced her to the joys of lesbianism. She never slept with a man again after that.
Favorite sex position?
Brienne: Probably missionary. She really wants to see the face of the person she is pleasuring. (She’s lame like that /aff). Plus, missionary with the strap sometimes means bouncing boobies which we know Brienne loves.
Larissa: Bent over her desk or tied to her bed. For the most part, as long as she is being dominated, Larissa loves it.
Lucifer: Receiving/giving oral on their throne. They live the symbolism and power.
Phasma: Bending someone over something and pounding them from behind. Her helmet is off with the order ‘Don’t look behind you.’ Power play.
Miranda: Her partner between her legs with their back against her chest while she plays with their pussy
Do they like to be dominant or submissive?
Brienne: Sub.
Larissa: Sub.
Lucifer: Sub.
Phasma: Dom.
Miranda: Sub. (Will switch for her partner)
Sex on the bed, couch, or the floor?
Brienne: Bed. Sometimes the couch for over-the-clothes stuff, but no sex.
Larissa: Bed.
Lucifer: Bed.
Phasma: Doesn’t care.
Miranda: Couch. She is a fan of over-the-clothes grinding and groping and the couch is such a perfect place for that.
Have they ever had sex in a public place?
Brienne: It’s happened in the case of what she calls “sexual emergencies where it could not be postponed or held off.”
Larissa: Yes, when she was younger.
Lucifer: Yes, from time to time.
Phasma: Obviously. She is very careful about finding somewhere she is sure is rarely visited/can be locked/will be free. She has a reputation to uphold, after all.
Miranda: Yes, regardless of knowing about the ‘indecent exposure’ charges she could get.
Would they ever have sex in a public place?
Brienne: If she could avoid it, she would. She feels the most comfortable behind closed doors in a private place (her home, her partner’s home, or a hotel room). If public sex is to be accepted by her, it has to be somewhere where she can ensure privacy, like a door with a lock or a place that no one can look into.
Larissa: It’s not a preference as she ages.
Lucifer: If their partner would like, then of course.
Phasma: Of course.
Miranda: Duh. Yes.
Have they ever been caught masturbating?
Brienne: No. She learns about masturbating pretty late in her life (if ever) and only does it when she is sure no one is awake. She also trusts people to knock, and she’s good at staying quiet.
Larissa: Once during her time at Nevermore by her roommate. That night ended happily for both of them.
Lucifer: Not unless they want to be caught.
Phasma: No.
Miranda: No, but she wouldn’t be opposed to getting caught by her partner if it would lead to them joining her in bed.

TMAGP 26 Thoughts: Sam is awkward. Celia is hot.
Yet another guest writer episodes and this time it's Muna Hussen. She' co-creator and producer on The Silt Verses, and produced and acted in I Am In Eskew. The Silt Verses is a show I can wholeheartedly suggest giving a listen. It's great in just about every way a thing can be. I might leave a pitch for it as an addendum. I Am In Eskew is in the forever pile of things I may one day get to. It's a really well written episode too, I liked this one a lot. It is, unfortunately, another pretty explicit one so I don't expect to have a load to say, but that's not the same as it being bad.
Spoilers for episode 26 below the cut.
Celia and Sam's conversation doesn't have a load of note in it. Yes, they're going to meet Helen but that's for later. The important detail here is how Celia categorises her incidents. Which she does with the least effort imaginable. She's not had any misfiles yet which tells me that either those no longer happen or you just need to get it in the right Section. But more importantly than that it's also a good look at just how little she cares about the job. We've all known she's had ulterior motives from her introduction but it's nice to see ways that is reflected.
Much like the last incident there isn't too too much to rip into for what I talk about. I'm not sure the themes of this one speak to any greater connection and the characters are all new as far as I know. Which only really leaves one detail to talk about. The Archivist or, rather, *an *Archivist as that's the more interesting detail. The Archivist here didn't really do much we've not seen before. The forced running isn't to dissimilar to the forced drowning and Jarrod did seem to be mumbling in classic fashion. No statement to be heard as such but that might just be because of the framing. However, unlike previous run ins with an Archivist they're very much aware that they're not the only one. Whether this leads to something more grand or not is hard to say but it's an interesting detail.
Alice is finally up to episode 11 with the plot. More seriously it's nice to see her piecing things together now. I do wonder if that was Chester's point or not. Gwen was a little weird in this interaction IMO. Alice and Gwen shared a fairly major revelation together, that this ties into, but she seems to have distanced herself a lot from that emotionally already. Which isn't out of character but does come a little fast.
Helen is *very *Helen here. I think of all the returning characters she might have changed the least. At least from where she started. It's lovely to see her back, although I do wonder if maybe they're leaning on these characters a little too much at this stage. It's hard to know if this is one-off fanservice or the way of things going forward. I hope it's the latter because the less of the old cast we get the more of the new cast we'll see. There isn't a huge amount to say here but its good to see them getting more information about the Institute. Also, unfortunately Helen is still a tory. Categorically disproving the "these characters are now living their best life" theory. It's all still hell. I'd also include the transcripts note for the laugh but that's a TMA spoiler and probably one person hasn't seen that show. Besides if you know, you know.
Sam and Celia finally fucked. Good for them. Well, bad for them if TMA is anything to go off for couples in this setting. But, y'know.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Incident/CAT#R#DPHW Master Sheet and Terminology Sheet
DPHW Theory: 4463 is pretty normal for this, I think. No major surprises.
CAT# Theory: 1 is a 1. I'll maybe try to write an essay on this before the season ends. No prommies tho.
R# Theory: BC seems about right.
Header talk: Exhaustion (Athletic) -/- Compulsion (Tape). Also very very normal.
I guess I will write that addendum then.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Addendum: Go listen to The Silt Verses.
It's a horror audio drama that's more or less a world where the modern religious landscape is a polytheistic one, with fabricated corporate gods putting pressure on local ones, outlawed religions, and all sorts of fun stuff. But it's a world where religions, fabricated or otherwise, are also powerful and gods do exist and perform miracles. It follows two worshippers of the Trawler Man, and outlawed god, on their pilgrimage up its great black river. As you might expect things don't go smoothly and soon enough there's a man hunt, run ins with cults stranger than theirs, and all sorts of revelations.
The world building is a real high light too. It's just the right level of "this world is horrific yet treated as mundane". It's worth listening just to see how that's all built on.
I rate it a strong prisoners-buried-alive-in-the-foundations-of-new-construction-projects-to-bless-them/10.

More little things I noticed in my third rewatch of ATSV.
-SPOILERS AHEAD-
There was a moment that confused me where Spot was robbing the guy of the ATM and he was setting down some cans for (seemingly) no reason. He was actually placing the ATM on top of the cans so he can roll it out.
I can't confirm if this is what was actually there, but when Uncle Aaron was telling Miles they "gotta roll," there was an acrylic stand of Spider-Man there that looked like Miles Morales Spider-Man (color and all).
When Miles was swinging through 42 NYC, there was an advertisement for "Vulture" something, I'm assuming a company. Messed up.
When Miguel first introduces himself by ramming into Vulture, Gwen gets to the spot and does this really slick landing animation where she kinda just gracefully brushes against the bannister briefly before landing on the ground.
42 Rio being given more hours at the hospital shows just how bad 42 New York has gotten without a Spider-Man. Terrifying.
I think I may have pointed this out on a previous post, but 1610 Uncle Aaron had a lucky black cat while 42 Uncle Aaron had a lucky white cat instead. I also like the parallels of Peter being tied up against a punching bag by Miles in ITSV while Miles is tied up by Uncle Aaron in ATSV.
I find it hilarious that Miles STILL doesn't know about ComicCon and didn't bother to look it up since ITSV when 42 Rio brings up "ComicsCon."
When Hobie is blocking off Miles from walking through to Miguel and Miles bumps into him, there's a tiny skull that appears when they make contact. It might just be a punk thing, but I wonder if it's an omen for the bad thing that's ahead of Miles.
Lego Spider-Man's vocalized "boop boop"s killed me.
I love the reveal when Miles realizes he's in the wrong universe, the camera pulls into his face and twists slightly. Obvious but nonetheless cool film styling of "his world is spinning" aside, I love that it feels like a 40's/50's kind of thing. Like this is something that you would see in The Twilight Zone, it nails the old comic book-y vibes too.
42 Miles' facial posture has his head up high and his chin slightly jutting out and up, like he's this "in-charge," cold, dignified superior while our Miles has his chin straight, sometimes pointed down and his head straight, showing he's trying to appeal to his humanity and trying to be humble and unassuming. It's awesome details like this that I love.
Hearing Spot say that he couldn't get a job because of what happened to him at that deli really hurts, honestly. Even if, in a way, he himself is partially to blame, it sucks that he has to resort to this. And the way he says it, almost in a "well, I can't do anything else so this is the only thing I can do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" kind of way is really saddening, like he's trying to take it in stride and as a matter of fact. As awful as Spot becomes, I still feel bad for him.
Miles has a "#BLM" pin on his backpack. I'm sure people saw it already and it's probably a given, but in a world where media is trying to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible, it's nice to see the studio make a clear stance with a character that absolutely fits the bill.
That title drop for Earth 42 when Uncle Aaron tries to dab up Miles going into slow-mo with the music subdued was dope as fuck.
Miles throwing his arms up when asking when his dad dies ("When does it happen?!") is so on-point and well animated, it feels like something every New Yorker would do (I would personally know, since I am one).
When Gwen asks Jess if she ever made mistakes, Jess' reply, saying "yeah, but I got over it," is pretty toxic. It feeds into Gwen's need to avoid her problems rather than address them and face them, and I think that's why she probably chooses to avoid discussing things about Miles to him directly.
That look of disgust on Miles' face when he's being surrounded by Spider-People ("What is this? Some kind of intervention or something?") was so real.
The long silence between Miles choosing to go into the portal to follow Gwen is so good, I love when the movie speaks for itself rather than the dialogue. You can see the hesitation in Miles' eyes and face and then his determination as he jumps headfirst into the portal. A great character scene and fitting transition into the next act.
The album cover for the soundtrack is so good and comes from the scene where Miles goes into the portal. It feels like a mix of something from a Golden Age comic book cover, Miles' hand opened out towards the camera like he's being thrust into another world. And the colors of the portal and transition to Mumbattan are gorgeous. Fills the 40's/50's vibes I was talking about earlier, too.
Jeff's toast is really well done and I like how heartfelt and real it feels. Makes his anger, unfortunately, justified on Miles, even if Miles was trying to do the right thing for him and Rio in the end.
"I was just cool the whole time" is such a boss line, I love Hobie.
Miguel casually (almost lazily) swinging around rescuing civilians at the Guggenheim whilst talking to Gwen about a serious conversation is unironically cool. And it fits to his character, he's probably done it so many times that it becomes child's play in the end.
"I ain't got Scooby-Doo, mate."
How does Hobie know that Miles should use his palms for those powers? Curious.
"But now...I'm not afraid of anything." I love Miles so much, he's grown and become so strong not just for himself but for others. He's the best Spidey. Full stop.
I love the reversal of reflections for Gwen. At the beginning of the movie, she's in her casual wear but with the reflections always showing her in her Spider outfit. At the end, she comes home in her Spider outfit but with herself in her casual wear in the reflection instead. She started off alone in the world as Spider-Woman and ended feeling like Gwen. Her arc was completed and she's facing herself, the real Gwen Stacy and not Spider-Woman.
I felt bad that the deli clerk got bonked by the bat :( But, at least he's all right.
Miles saying "Don't do that" to the kid licking the subway window is real. That shit is nasty, the windows are the least clean parts of NYC's subway.
I love that both Gwen and Miles use comically deep voices around their respective dads. It's cute.
When the police officer was saying "I think we found our sign" when Gwen webbed them up, George's silent head turn with unamusement was awesome.
I will not have anymore George Stacy slander. Yeah, he made a bad call in seemingly arresting his daughter, but he QUIT his job for her. He loves her that much that he quit being, not just a police officer, but a CAPTAIN, for HER sake.
Speaking of which, when George had his gun pointed at her before she unmasked, he had his gun down the whole time after she unmasked, even while he was re-relaying her her rights. And when she tries to approach him, his gun flinches up a bit but stops.
"Can you go easy on the penguin?"
This is actually a follow-up post, since I said before that I might make another. This movie is too much for me and I love taking it apart.
Edit: I'm sorry for the constant updates and changes/revisions, but I can't stop thinking about this movie.

The Start of the Beginning… Again
Miguel O’hara x Filipina reader
Chapter 2
Previously
Earth-6301
Year 2099
Peter groans waking up with a throbbing headache, he tries to move but notices that he’s been hogtied up with his limbs in the air behind him.
‘Well isn’t this great’ he thought
Earth 1610
“Honestly if I had a nickel for every time I woke up bruised and tied up I would have 2 nickels which isn’t much but I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens again.” Peter says, shrugging it off while Miles laughs awkwardly remembering their first interaction together.
“Anyways” Peter continues
“I woke up in this office lab looking room. Couldn’t really tell where I was but I saw that the goblin I was supposed to bring back to HQ was in the same position as me but still passed out, then I saw (Y/n) hunched over on her desk.”
Earth-6301
Year 2099
“I guess now I have to deal with you too huh.” You say out loud getting up from her chair, turning around and leans back against her desk.
“Gabi, can you keep looking into that device while I deal with him.” You tell her, a purple hologram of what looks like a teenage girl pops up and salutes you then disappears again.
“Gabi?” Peter questions quietly to himself but sees the gizmo on your desk plugged with a bunch of wires, he panics.
“H-hey you shouldn’t be messing with tha-” Peter exclaims but was cut off from the excruciating pain of glitching.
“Just like the goblin huh?” You mutter to yourself as you watch Peter glitch and writhe in pain.
“Well I certainly don’t miss that” Peter groans. You drag your chair in front of Peter and sit back down and lean back against it. You bring out your foot to tilt Peter’s chin to look up at you. You look down at him, deactivating your mask then clicking your tongue.
“So you wanna explain why you’re messing with inter dimensional travel hm?” You question him. Peter looks up at you taking in your appearance, he feels like he’s seen you before and he also notices that it looks like you haven’t slept in days. You patiently wait for an answer as Peter continues to ponder who you look like, but sigh as you retract your foot back letting his chin hit the ground bringing Peter back to reality and scoot back away from him.
“I mean do you even know the dangers of entering another dimension where you don’t even belong? You could rip a fucking black hole into my universe just by interacting with it.” You groan pinching the temples of your forehead trying to soothe your oncoming headache.
“Look like I was trying to explain earlier but you decided to knock me out instead. I was just here trying to get this guy over here.” Peter motions his head at the passed out goblin beside him.
“And take him back to where he belongs, because long story short there was someone who was messing with multiverse stuff which caused a ripple effect onto every other universe causing people getting sucked into these vortexes and getting shot out into a different dimension.” Peter explains and pauses looking at you for a reaction but you just stare at him.
“Before you know it… the universe that they enter will collapse since they obviously don’t belong there.” Peter adds and chuckles awkwardly, inwardly cursing at Miguel for forcing him to pick up this mission.
“I see…” You say leaning back into your chair and slouching against it crossing your arms.
“I was afraid that his theories would be right.” You sigh solemnly, the hologram of a teenage girl pops up in front of you.
“Sooo I found out that the watch has the same coding as papa's temporal displacement machine but with a few changes, and it’s probably because they’re using it to travel between dimensions rather than time travel.” Gabi concludes, kicking her holographic soccer ball and keeping it up.
“Thank you Gabi, just keep looking into it if it’s unstable”
“You got it mom” Gabi fizzles out
Earth-1610
“Wait wait wait wait- hold on!” Gwen cuts Peter off from continuing his story.
“(Y/n) has an ai assistant?” Gwen questions Peter rolls his eyes.
“Kid, if you forgot she literally lives in the future” Peter reiterates.
“No, no I mean her AI assistant is…” Gwen pauses then whispers the next part “Miguel’s dead daughter?” She asks and Peter shrugs.
“Surprised you haven’t met her yet. She hangs out with Lyla a lot but yeah, as I was saying…”
Earth-6301
Year 2099
“Wait time travel?” Peter asks incredulously, you look at him weirdly as if that’s the first time anyone has ever heard of time travel.
Earth-1610
“She calls her mom?” Miles asks
“Just let me finish!”
Earth-6301
Year 2099
“What, you’ve never heard of time travel or something?” You question him
“No no no, I’ve heard of time travel… of course I’ve heard of time travel! It’s in the name.” Peter exclaims and you still look at him with a blank stare.
“So you guys never explored inter dimensional travelling?” Peter asks, breaking the silence only to be answered with a sigh, you pull out your watch and put up a display of your theories.
“A long time ago… I think maybe four years ago the idea of inter dimensional travelling was brought up by my boss. You see I work at alchemax, you probably have a version of a high tech science company or something in your world… Anyways our boss was grief stricken he wa-“
“Was your boss’s name kingpin by any chance?” Peter cuts you off and you look at him weirdly
“W-what? No, what kind of name is that? Anyways he was grief stricke-“ you were cut off once more by a loud crash, you turned your attention to the source of the noise and saw that the goblin was thrashing around trying to get out of his confinement. You sigh, getting up to activate your yantok and shock him again, he passes out once more.
“Ano ba?” You click your tongue in annoyance and return back to your chair. “At this point he’s just embarrassing himself. Like I was saying our boss… his name is Tyler Stone, was so grief stricken from the loss of his son and wife dying in a shootout that happened not too long after the alchemax here in Nueva York was established he proposed the idea of inter dimensional travelling. Of course he didn’t push through with it since it was brought to his attention that it would be too dangerous and risky to mess with anything beyond our current understanding so it was decided that time travel was the best option. You see with time travel, it’s quite much more simple and less complex than travelling through the multiverse or getting something else from somewhere else. With time travel you’re just travelling in your own dimension and the only thing you’d be disrupting is the certain events that people have experienced which in turn would alter their personalities which isn’t really an issue because our theory was that somewhere along our timeline it’ll split when an event that would have a major consequence which would be balanced either way, you win some you lose some. So for example, it’s simple really.”
You pull up a picture of what looks like to be a tree branch
“Let’s say this is you, the moment you were born. This could split into many different ways of what could happen.” You say and point at the start of the tree branch
“In one timeline, you could’ve died from SIDS, you’re done, this timeline of your story ends here. In this timeline you live with no freak accidents and whatever, and in this other timeline your mom could’ve dropped you or you had a life altering injury something like it that would leave you with lasting effects. That’s just the gist of it, at some points different versions of you in this universe can experience the same thing but because of how your past experiences shaped you, you could have different outcomes depending how alternate timeline versions of yourselves react to said cross point event. Anyways don’t take my word for it too seriously since theory is just theory unless you can prove that it’s absolute law.” You turn off your watch
“As I was saying, disrupting your own timeline or universe or whatever it’s called, as long as you're interacting within your own world, everything should be fine because there will always be that one time line that will split off with a different consequence which creates some sort of balance. But the catch when it comes to time travelling and fixing the past to create your desired result, you MUST follow every single path down to the very second to prevent any thing that you don’t want to deal with and want things to be almost exactly the way it is when you come back to the present. Yes, yes I know ‘but what about the other version of yous in the other timelines?’ Well you don’t have to think about them because they’re not your problem, just need to accept it even though it will leave you with an icky feeling but hey what would I know? This was how I got the explanation for this stuff. I might be missing some things but that’s most of it I believe… Who knows, I’m just a geneticist trying to find cures for up and coming diseases that don’t have any known antidote and help the betterment of man kind. But yeah I need to stop getting side tracked.” You yawn and look at your watch to check the time.
“Bwiset, it’s almost five am. Yeah we chose time travel since it’s the least dangerous option but long story short, Tyler was so desperate to get his family back that he rushed the whole process and fired up an interns shit job of a temporal displacement and that sucker exploded as expected since that stupid intern stole early drafts of the temporal displacement that still had a lot of setbacks and wasn’t deem stable by any of the actual professionals and rushed it in hopes to get a promotion right away. And yeah a lot of people died… yeah after that alchemax went back to “normal” and is now under strict guidelines if we want to start up another experiment like that to prevent shit like this happening again.”
You sigh leaning back.
“Diyos ko, bakit naman kailangan harahapin kong ito ng nag-iisa” you groan and spin in your chair to face your desk. Peter took notice of your silence and saw that you were staring at a picture frame, he couldn’t make out who was in the picture frame thanks to the sunrise’s reflection.
“I’ll deal with you later but right now I have more pressing matters to deal with right now.” You state and start working with chemicals and pull out a tray of Petri dishes.
“Uh so do you plan on letting me go or something? Did you forget about what I just told you?” Peter asks, staring at your back remembering that he was hogtied up in your blue digital webbing.
All of a sudden a bright orange vortex appears in your room.
“Ah shit I forgot about him.” Peter groans
An: sorry for a really late update, I was tryna make this scrumptious and had to revise a lot of plot lines. Like⁉️ I had three very different drafts of chapter 2😧

Response to 4206:
Tell me you weren't paying attention to Spiderverse without telling me you weren't paying attention to Spiderverse. Because did you miss the scene where Gwen was confessing to her father (which can be read as a "coming out" scene) about her powers whilst being bathed in the colors of the trans flag? Or the part where she felt like she had to hide her identity from her father? Bc if that doesn't have some type queer subtext I dunno what does.
"Just because someone has a trans flag doesn't mean they're trans!"
If Gwen had a flag that was tied to a certain religion or ethnic group you'd probably assume she was from that religion/ethnic group or at least has ties to them. So why is it so out there for people to assume that Gwen is trans because she has a trans flag?
"But Gwen always had those colors! She isn't trans in the comics!"
Newsflash, but this isn't the same Gwen from the comics. None of these characters are the same from the comics. There's canonically a giant multiverse with thousands of different Spiderman stories. If there can be a universe where Peter Parker isn't a Jewish guy from New York, I'm sure there can be a universe where Gwen is trans.
"You're taking other people's headcanons away by saying Gwen is trans!"
Says the person trying to take the "Trans Gwen" headcanon away from people who relate to it. If you can buy a Spiderman that's a literal talking pig, you can buy one that's trans. Fuck off.
Why is it whenever there is a character that LGBTQ people relate to, others are always quick to scream out "th-th-that character isn't LGBT! You're wrong because xyz!!!!" type arguments just short of "stop pushing your gay agenda onto our kids!"
If someone headcanons one character to like spicy food or soccer, you wouldn't go up that person and tell them "you're disrespecting people who don't like soccer or spicy food!" so why is it suddenly okay to do that with LGBT headcanons? People are allowed to identify with characters in ways that you don't.
Posting since this is a previous problem.

Life is Strange Double Exposure Review
(Spoiler warning)
I finished the game last night and my thoughts have been given time to proof- like making bread.
Characters
- I loved playing Max again! There was such a sweet nostalgia while playing her and hearing her repeat lines from the first game like, "Shaka brah", and it was awesome to see how 10 years had treated her- both the trauma of Arcadia Bay and how she is more confident, more assured of herself!
- I was instantly endeared to Safi from the beginning, her friendship with Max and their bantering was fun! You could tell they had a good close friendship- which only got deeper during the last 2 episodes. I think she is complicated and interesting. It just sucks that she kinda feels like a watered down Chloe. Which it had to be this way for the themes and plot. She is funny, daring, reckless, sometimes mean, vengeful, scared. I wish I knew more about her since she is going to be a bigger part of the universe going forward (if it continues).
- Moses is sweet but again I wish we knew more about him. We are only in his office once and there wasn't much to snoop around with. He gave such a weird expression when I picked the toilet mug in episode 1, I thought there was going to be more depth (which is going to be a reoccurring criticism of mine). I know he was more Safi's friend and it was only a few days since Safi's death, Max and him can't bond that fast and Alex and gang had weeks/months to bond but it still irks me.
- Amanda. She's nice. I played as a messy bisexual so Max and her are not together and I don't know if that's how it is for everyone's ending (which railroads the ending a bit and I'll go into that more later) but i think she was half developed? She is "a cool artsy music lover gay who falls in love quickly" doesn't that sound like Steph? Deck nine is playing the same fucking tune and I'm getting sick of it.
-Vihn. I didn't like him but then he won me over. What do you meannnn he is a well dressed, well groomed calendar of a bi man who seems like he only cares about the university and yasmin's schedule, but actually he has a prized hedgehog statue (where's that fucking story? Where is the depth? It is a fucking flat narrative object like when max was in that motel loop and everything was flat cardboard except the wall LIKE EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME THATS NOT TIED TO THE MAIN THEME OF THE GAME, sigh, I'll continue this later), and does tarot??? I like him alot more than Amanda actually because he is narratively tied to the plot and hence has more characterization and depth. I don't ship him with Max but hot people appreciate hot people. She smashes. I smash. Let them kiss.
- I like Gwen. She's fucking awesome. I loved snooping in her office. Icon. Firewalker mention! But again, I could use more info about her outside of relation to Safi and Yasmin.
- Lucas. [Crowd boos] shhhhh shhh you're right but shhhhh. This is less cruel Jefferson. Narcissistic scum of the earth. But still I feel like we needed more info on him. Think about how much info we have of actual Jefferson and even Nathan!
- Yasmin... let's hear it for overprotective parents who value their reputation more than their child's health and safety whoooooooo
- Diamond. Again i feel like i don't know much about her. And I'm trying to dig into what her power could be- probably something with past and future or prophecy shit. Idk I'm just thinking about her project in the fine arts building. Also who did she have a crush on? Moses? I liked having little undergrads around but she could have been developed more
- Reggie. Anxiety gay boy. Does photos. Could have been developed more.
- Reporter girl. I don't even remember her name, SHE could have been developed more. Could have been an actual element in the story, someone pressuring Max about inconsistencies and shit. Except she didn't. Not in my play through
Setting
- College was very cozy and so was the bar. I'm also a grad student so alot of the background talk of grading, finals, college traditions, thinking about dropping out, that x professor hasn't given feedback for your proposal- it was all so fucking relatable.
- but it was small. The world. The set pieces. There wasn't alot to examine or explore. I feel like if there was more of this we could know the characters more and a campus is one of those characters! I do think the split dimensions offered a slightly interesting view of the campus with and without tragedy but only in episode 2 and 3 bc then that aspect was forgotten about.
- episode 5's setting was great. I always loved the dreamscape "nothing feels real or is right" of the original's last episode AND true color's last episode bc those types of settings tell us about the characters. And that's what setting is supposed to do. I feel like double exposure didn't use the setting effectively enough
Plot
- the parallelism was good but if this was released an episode a month or two like the original- people would be calling the twist ending of episode 3. I wasn't fucking surprised. I was intrigued and wanted to see what they would do with a shape shifter but. I'll get into that in the ending section
- lis games are getting very predictable bc the creators have a mold they want to follow for better or worse "main character has superpower, aesthetic vibes, romantic interests, murder to solve, a twist!" And now. A fucking marvel ass universe. I'm intrigued but ugh. The media is so so over saturated with superpower teams of heroes and multiple dimensions- I'm over it. And so is alot of people.
Themes
- the one thing they did really really well was having Chloe and Arcadia Bay haunt Max. Everything that happened back then was paralleled in the present and Max faced the storm. She made up for her cowardice and mistakes.
Did it honor lis 1?
- yes. And no. Yes in the way that I think it was the best way to wrap up the hotly debated ending of the original. It really showed how Max grew as a character. Which is important if she's like one of the main characters in this universe they are trying to make. No in the way that it upset many people that Chloe and Max broke up. It really goes to show you can't have a decisions matter game as a series. You just can't. Because you railroad shit and take away choices and character insights. You take away the punch the bite the thing that makes the story talked about a decade later.
Gameplay
- I know there is a reason both intext and meta wise why the power is dimension hopping. But it could have been developed more. It left me wanting. (Common theme of this review)
Choices
- again. Your choices don't matter. Deck nine in making more installments trying to reuse characters or tie in events, make it so your choices don't matter. It becomes more and more aparrent every game that deck nine makes that they are railroading the game and your choices. I'm not even upset about Chloe and Max break up because I sacrificed her in my playthrough, I'm saying true colors ended with Alex either being in Colorado or not being in Colorado. This game ended with Max agreeing to stand with Safi or not when she comes back- and I'm willing to bet, deck nine will not make a game that has a big impact if they are friendly or not. That's not how deck nine makes their games. They railroad choices and make things go their way. They aren't going to do something intriguing like have one game be Max and Safi taking over the world together and another where Max is fighting Safi. That is two separate games. Whatever game they make in the future with these characters is going to be 1 game. 1 game where they decide your choices you made previously don't matter. They are going to make the story they want to make. Which is why you shouldn't make a choose your own adventure/examination on interpersonal relationships game a fucking series- and that's why so much of the set dressing and interactable objects were gone which in turn impacts the characters.... it's a fucking shit show.
- also some of the choices I made that said "this will have consequences" didn't fucking matter. Like, I didn't tell Safi about the restraining order. I really thought in episode 5 that would be important and the cops would be called at the bar. It. Wasn't. It just. This game railroads you hard.
Ending
- so as I said, your choices don't matter, they will just explain away Safi and Max's friendship in the next game like they always do
- the fucking cheesy ass marvel ending- i am both vaguely curious what will happen and sick to my stomach because. What. Why. Why are they doing this. I give them some benefit of the doubt because if they go the "we could be Gods" route... it could be interesting. But it makes me hesitant.
- People are souring over this series. I'm not even sure if they will be able to have enough support to make the series they want to make. They need to break the mold they put themselves in (see me saying the predictability in plot) but when dontnod made life is strange 2 with completely different characters and setting and a main character without power- people hated it (i loved it, it's my favorite lis game) but that's why deck nine has been leaning hard in the prequel and steph and Max and "max will return" but what they are doing in making this a series is betraying the original premise and fucking importance of the original game. That choices matter.
- Unless they suck it up and actually make a game that takes into account all the different endings we have (which max could she really could in the final game of the series, the last episode, hopping dimensions that have Chloe alive, Daniel in Mexico or not, etc.) this series is going to be a pale shadow in comparison to what it could've been.
Extension Game
- What the fuck was that. The cat extension seems fucking stupid to me, if someone actually got that and played it tell me- did it actually add something to the game or was it a way for us to give deck nine 10 more dollars?
And lastly, Ranking:
Here's the thing. Double exposure is a really good sequel/continuation of Max's story but it's a bad execution of a "choices matter" game and a game hinging off of interpersonal relationships and how superpowers can impact them. So,
Life is Strange 2
Life is Strange
Life is Strange: True Colors
Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Life is Strange: Before the Storm
Now with my mixed feelings I am going to play lis2 and wait for lost records bloom and rage comes out hoping that dontnod does their usual magic again.

so... spider-verse...
god it was so fucking good!!!!!!! i saw it again yesterday and super glad i did because i got to pick up some details i missed the first time (like how Hobie was stealing tech from Miguel's lab to build his own dimension-hopping watch that Gwen later gets). just !!!!!!!
and the risk of making the villain be a brand new character???????? and it fucking working????????????? The Spot is an incredible villain, what a seamless transition from "haha funny starter villain to establish how far Miles has come as being his dimension's Spider-Man" to "oh fuck this guy is legitimately terrifying and all-powerful", which is aided by his perfect voice acting. but what a gamble to not use an established villain from the comics. itsv needed commonly known Spider-Man villains because the general audience was learning about Miles, Gwen, and the others, though they did do the fun trick of making Doc Ock, one of the most recognizable of Spider-Man's rogues gallery, a woman which paid off spectacularly and probably helped prove they could take further risks with villains. but for the new one, with the core Spider-People being established now, having a complete canon foreigner be the villain was great, especially how it fits the common "Create Your Own Villain" trope from super heroes. and having Miles' arch nemesis be intrinsically tied to his origin story is perfect with the reveal that Miles of 1610 wasn't supposed to be Spider-Man. Miles being Spider-Man was't supposed to be "canon" in a multiverse where canon events have great power. so of course, Miles' greatest foe would be unique to him as well.
#Spider Verse#Spider Verse Spoilers#across the spider verse#across the spider verse spoilers#atsv#spiderman atsv#atsv spoilers#there's a lot of great stuff about this movie i could blab on about#Hobie Pavitr Gwen's arc#the animation#the whole twist with Dimension 42#but i haven't seen much on The Spot and it really hit after my second viewing what a risk that was#and how perfectly it worked#buckets of mail

I've got a story only Tumblr will appreciate. When I was a little girl and started to become a big girl there was something I feared more than anything: boobs. I was a very wild child and I loved that people struggled to tell if I was a girl or a boy. I largely dressed "like a boy" and being a child of the 90's having shaggy short hair was the norm for boys and it was a style I loved. Here is a sample of me circa probably 1999.
I was fugging adorable I know. Anyways, I distinctly remember watching Gwen Steffani in the Underneath it All video where her boobs were quite noticeable in her tank top and thinking to myself: Oh good, they can be very small. Please let me have very small. Even very small seems too much. Although at the time all women needed to be stick thin (love that heroin chic) they also did require big boobs so most women I saw had themselves some knockers. And I thought as a child that was the way all women's boobs got. So, fast forward a few years to when I DID hit puberty and fuck it all I started to get boobs and hips and I was not a happy camper. It also didn't help that I hit puberty FAST. I went from little child to adolescent over what felt like the course of weeks. I grew like 6 inches, got hips, and of course...boobs. It made me INCREDIBLY self conscious as I transitioned from "who knows" to "definitely girl". Although not everyone would see it that way, as I remained gangly. But I no longer fit very well into children's clothes, so I now had to shop in the ladies section, as the boys clothes were just too big even for me to feel comfortable in.
On top of all this, no one around me seemed to understand my feelings. I was living in a very small town and knew all 30 other kids in my grade and the 40 so above and below me and none of them seemed to care about this. I felt very isolated.
And then one day in the bargain book bins at Building 19 and 1/2 I found this book.
Within the first chapter or so of this book the girl talks about her fear of a changing figure, getting boobs, and not being able to hide that she is a girl. I felt SEEN. Nevermind that this book was the exact childhood game I used to play in the woods of my house (I, child of Robin Hood, and my imaginary band of similar children outlaws, roaming the woods and defeating foes. Mostly this was me with a bent stick with string tied to it pretending to shoot my siblings with my arrows which was me chucking sticks at them) I had never found a character in a book that I related to so much. Most of the books I read were about boys, as most fantasy books at the time were about boys. And in my head I would never pretend to be the boy, but rather to simply be a friend of the boy and have my own adventures beside them. I didn't want to be a BOY. I wanted there to be a GIRL like ME. Now, 20 some odd years later and it is easy with today's understanding of the world to look back and say "ah, the baby queer was struggling with their gender identity. There was no representation to help her understand." Obvious. I have taught students with the exact same thing. But at the this sort of behavior and therefore me was treated as a tomboy child who would eventually put these tomboy things away in favor of the girly expectations of her. ((another side note here: not by my own mother. I always say (and my siblings agree) that she raised us largely genderless before that was a purposeful action people took)). And when you saw tomboys in movies or books or tv shows that is what they always did, so I knew I must too. But I also knew that this would not be me. I did not feel like the tomboys in anything because I did not feel like I could ever have my makeover moment where I put on a dress and suddenly all the boys loved me. And to be honest I didn't really want to. I felt happiest, and still feel happiest, as an odd gremlin child. Which is why I loved this book so much. Rowan, the main character, felt no pressure to become a GIRL she simply wanted to exist as she was. As did I. It remains to me one of the best examples of someone like me. But, I read it over 20 years ago and while the character and the story stuck with me, a lot of the details like names and ages faded away. But the brave daughter of Robin Hood who did not want to be a GIRL stuck with. Considering all this it will come as no surprise to anyone that now, as an adult, I have a better understanding of my own complex relationship to gender, and though I am happy to be a girl I also like to feel like I am not a girl sometimes. And one of the things I figured out when figuring all that out is that my given name has always felt too feminine for me, and I have always preferred the nicknames people have used. I also secretly think most people have unconsciously also thought my given name was not fitting for me, as very few people in my life have called me by it. I have instead had a litany of nicknames that usually incorporate a piece of my name, but are rather genderless as they are generally not real names.
So, I decided to change my name. There is a lot more that went into this as well, lots of difficult family things and strong feelings about patriarchy, so I knew I would ultimately keep my given name, make it my middle name, change my last name, and choose a new first name. And I spent a whole year thinking of a new name. I kept a list of names I saw or liked, taken from books, gravestones, naming sites, celebrities, whatever. I talked in depth to my closest friend about it and took her ideas and feedback into deep consideration. I went through a few weeks here and there trying to imagine a life being called this or that. And in the end I settled on a name. I chose the Irish name Rúadán, which is usually anglicised as Roan or....Rowan. And that is the story, Tumblr, as to how this morning I gasped so loudly and sat up so quickly that my dog ran out the room when I realized that, unbeknownst to me, I had named myself after the first book character I had ever really felt represented by.
#lgbtqia+#pride#books#representation#personal#trust me I am still laughing in shock#lgbtq community#gender#all the rest of it

10, 16, 17, 18!
(from this)
again, you didn't specify! i'm going with spider-gwen again!
10. worst part of fanon
gwiles shippers. it's always gwiles! what can i say! i have an eight-year-long hatred of this ship and it's only gotten deeper with time.
... or like. the perception of gwiles is the problem. the ship has potential, but only in a very specific context. if the fandom didn't treat the ship like the second coming of christ and acknowledged that this is a fundamentally shallow romance that will rapidly turn toxic if they don't quickly break up, then we could be cooking. if they embraced it, i'd be slurping up that shit. let’s talk about how it makes perfect sense for gwen to start out dating a straight boy and miles to start dating a white girl at the start of their arcs and how they can only be together if they’re repressing their true selves for approval and they enable this quality in each other. let’s talk about how they can either be each others awkward first romance or the Worst relapse into their character flaws ever. i want to watch the car crash and sink into the quicksand with the wheels still spinning as the people inside slowly suffocate after refusing to get out because they keep dragging each other back into their seats, telling each other they're actually still on the road. do you see it? do you see what we could have? but apparently not i guess.
and it's like. so easy to hate them too. wanting something different out of a ship is fine. but on top of choosing the Dumb Option, the gwiles shippers went with harassment, bigotry, clownery, pseudoactivism, contempt for the story and gwen as an individual, a total lack of reading comprehension, smugness about how Their Movie gave them Their Ship and no one can criticize it or want something different, and the unexplainable persecution complex they have even though they're the juggernaut ship in either character's fandom, have a beautiful-looking critically-acclaimed successful movie considered the best canon has to offer endorsing it, and are probably getting an endgame in the third. it is the Fucking Worst. and time and canonization have only made them dumber and more annoying. i cannot escape these people because they have no boundaries and can’t read the room and they won't. shut. up. even comics spider-gwen spaces are just overrun with these bitches now. try and talk about any version of gwen in any context and in 0.5 seconds some movie-only fan will swoop in going '~buh-buh-but what about miles!~"
buh-buh-but what about miles. why is this conversation suddenly about him. why is the spiderverse the only thing you think exists or matters. okay. you want to talk about the spiderverse movies? i hope gwen finds miles tied to that punching bag in btsv, thinks about it for a sec, and then says "you know what, never mind" and just leaves him to glitch to death and goes home. i hope she tells him "i fucked hobie and it was great and i never thought about you once while i was doing it because it would have killed the mood" before she leaves. i hope she sees earth-8's little gwilesbabies, and gwen-8 drives her directly to the hospital to get sterilized, and they hold hands looking into the camera saying "thank god they'll never be born" as gwen-8 dissolves into paradox dust. i hope she kills jeff in front of miles. i hope she joins the spot and helps him nuke earth 1610 and does a little pirouette on the ashes knowing she'll never have to deal with this shit again. i hope she keeps his hoodie as a trophy. is that enough spiderverse for you?
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
surprisingly not gwiles for once. i get that beautiful animation, great performances, a pretty pink filter, a licensed soundtrack and a genuinely solid and efficiently-paced romance arc sucked people in, because atsv exists to make you ship gwiles and it succeeded at what it set out to do. i get the shallow meta reading of gwen being 'what if gwen falls for spider-man 2 instead of spider-man 1, and this time it ends well, and she can come be with him forever' is appealing to people who have no idea what gwen's arc actually is. i get that gwen and miles look cute together. i get that the concept of two straight spider-people being a couple is appealing. i get that they have that diet cloak and dagger / accessible nonthreatening swirl ship aesthetic that makes people feel all warm and fuzzy for not reacting like it's 1964. i hate it. but i get it. the reason it’s so popular is because it’s so sugary and easy to swallow.
and i get why people like gwenjay. generic white yuri is even more popular, the concept of gwen and mary jane becoming a couple in a world without peter is fun, and there's a decade of legitimate buildup to this ship that only the most delusional gwiles shippers can ignore. it's diet diet harlivy and diet harlivy is already immensely popular. and god knows it's not exactly unheard of for people to get rid of the black girl in the love triangle in favor of the white one. so yeah. i get it.
i do not fucking get why people ignore ghostgoblin. like. putting aside the incredible meta and emotional arc that they already have... harry is a handsome troubled rich straight white boy who's been pining after his best friend for years but never oversteps his boundaries, who has a dark and mysterious past, who went to war and has daddy issues, who gwen fixes with her love after playing out a childhood-friends-to-doomed-first-romance-to-enemies-to-lovers arc. he pays for everything, is a constant source of unconditional emotional support and would die for her. and it's canon. it actually happened. whats not clicking. is it the hairline?
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
fic and art of earth-65a and all its characters. not just gwen and the mary janes. everyone else: harry. the lannister twin storm siblings with sue being this worlds dr doom. the jackal. the evil kingpin matt murdock. bitter supervillain cindy moon and genderbent hitman jess drew. samurai logan and his kitty-pryde-x23 hybrid daughter. corrupt cop punisher. felicia hardy and the black cats. hobie brown and the yancy street gang. jean dewolffe and george stacy. the doc ock who's a schlubby little villain of the week and his hot and far more competent evil son. evil hulk working for black widow. genderbent sam wilson captain america and her ambiguously trans male teenage clone. mayor j jonah jameson and his werewolf drug dealer son. even peter-65-- the incel villain, not the whitewashed atsv version. earth-65a is absolutely incredible. so many fantastic reinterpretations of familiar characters. and it gets paid such dust.
18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...
alright other than ghostgoblin and earth-65 itself... ghostpunk. you guys want gwen to date a queer black boy? hobie's right there. you want her to date a goofy boy who makes her smile and helps her through her feelings? hobie. you want her to have an interdimensional connection with a boy who in most universes she has no relationship with, but in the few that she does, every time they interact they change each other for the better, and they've been slowly getting better together for decades? hobie. you want gwen to kiss the prowler? hobie.
this is the spider-man gwen has great chemistry, a sincere emotional bond, a deep meta connection, common interests, and no shitty power dynamic with. she even technically came out of the closet to him (and he's the first person she's done it to, since the mary janes and jess seem to already know) and his response was 'dope. gonna try to set her up with my friend.' that question of can gwen ever fall in love with a spider-man in a way that ends well has actually been answered, and hobie's the guy. on every possible level. the bar might be in hell but he flew over it everywhere. even in the movie designed to make you ship gwiles instead, he’s the one with the deepest connection to her, who she’s the most comfortable with, who does the most to help her. and nobody sees it. miles and peter are cosmically bad for gwen, hobie is the exact inverse. he's so good for her that just five minutes in the same room makes their stories better for the duration of that interaction. wake up people!!!

Do Zuko for the ask game, lol
How I feel about this character
Zuko's kind of a tough one for me, because I have Strong Feelings about him, but I also don't? Like, he's my favorite character of all time, he's my number two comfort character, he's half of my OTP. ...But, I hardly ever think about him??????
Like, I'm rotating Janus Sanders around in my mind like he's in a microwave, but Zuko? He's just kind of There™.
When I do give him time to be thought about, I want to squeeze him until he pops, I want to shake him for being dumb and because I love him. I want to kiss all over his face (in a platonic way) and cook him big home cooked meals. He's dumb and awkward and makes every bad decision he could ever make. He's inspired me to keep going despite all the bullshit, he's made me feel like I can do anything (can't fuck up as bad as Zuko/Zuko got through worse), he's Just Like Me Fr™. But, also? He's just kind of... sitting around my mind palace like this:
It's a weird dichotomy.🤷🏾♀️
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Katara, I'm warming up to Zukaang and Zukaangtara. Julie Yamamoto, Gwen Tennyson. I don't ship Zuko (or Karata) with many people, but all the other people I ship them with come from the Ben 10 series... Huh... weird. Probably because they were both my hyperfixations for the longest time.🤷🏾♀️
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Probably Sokka. I'm also really liking Aang and Zuko as best buddies.
Platonic Janus/Zuko. They are my favorite characters, I need them to hang out. Also, Zuko and Kevin definitely need to hang out too.
My unpopular opinion about this character
This one won't make me many friends...
I'm putting this under a cut.
Fellow Zutara shippers, look away.
🚨!!Last Chance!!🚨
Uh, ok, as much as I love Zutara, I hate when people make Zuko completely pussy-whipped to Katara. They are equal partners in battle, friendship, and pretty much everything, and yet, I see a lot of people ignore this. I love a man who Loves His Wife as much as the next guy, but it's annoying when his character is completely changed to make him Katara's #1 hype man and lapdog. It's annoying and makes me like Katara less, not more. It's actually a big reason why I don't read atla fanfic. (It's annoying with any Zuko ship, I've just seen it with Zutara the most, and I'm saying this AS a Zutara shipper.)
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
We find out what happened to Zuko's mom, and we see him get that closure. I get that the end with Zuko asking Ozai about Ursa was just meant to be symbolic of him not being under Ozai's control anymore, but it still would've been great to:
Know what happened to her. (I don't count the comic "explaining" it. Too convoluted.)
Have Zuko have all the loose ends of him family tree tied up, so he could move on from the trauma and heal along with his nation. Yeah, he technically did that in canon, but I think it would've been more powerful if he knew what happened to her. Not necessarily see her again, she was probably dead, but still. Just knowing what happened.
Anyway, though...
That's my boy.😌
Thanks for the ask!!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

My inspirations!
My biggest inspiration, by far, is Just Roll With It. It's a TTRPG podcast that is just so good at every aspect of story telling! Every single campaign they've done I've cried out of some kind of emotion that they make me feel. The characters are all incredible! Gillion Tidestrider is probably my favourite and everyone after that is just a close second and they're all tied with each other because they're all so amazing in their own ways.
Wildcard specifically was actually inspired most The Trickster from Prime Defenders. The story of exactly how that came to happen is a little silly and for another time. You'd think with the multiple forms and changing personality gimmick that I'd have been most inspired by Vyncent and yes there's a lot of similarities but I want to make the distinction here and now that every form Wildcard takes is still Charlie at heart. They do not become a completely different person, it just changes the way their emotions work. At their core it's still the same person.
Thank you Mutants and Masterminds for being the system I used to create Wildcard's character sheet back when I was in denial and thought I'd just play them as a character in a campaign despite having no friends available at the time to DM such a campaign. I also use those character sheets to get a good idea of building and balancing all the heroes and villains in the world (although there will be plenty of leniency based on what I think is cool and fits the story).
I've also, definitely taken a lot of inspiration from the Spiderverse films, which might come across more once the first part of the story is released. Those movies are perfection the characters are incredible the story they're telling is innovative and fresh while still falling into the feeling of a Spiderman story. I love Gwen I love Miles I love Pav I love Mayday I love Peter I love the Spot I love Miguel and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hobie! One of the characters in my story that I'm yet to speak about yet is very similar to Hobie and I'm so excited and I love the parallels and as I write them I'm definitely gonna be pulling so much from Spiderverse Hobie's personality. Spiderman in general (most versions of them) is my favourite superhero so there will probably be a lot in my head that I don't recognise I'm taking from Spider people stories but I'm just gonna make the sweeping statement now that there will likely be similarities. I will not, however, be going into multiverse or time travel stories, at least not in the main canon story, maybe I'll do a weird little "what if" after I finish telling my story where a "balanced" and fused Wildcard meets a "corrupted" and vibrant Wildcard.
Shout-out to Marvel in general, comics and movies, I've seen a lot of that stuff so again, it'll probably just leak in without me realising.
This helps me when I'm struggling to let myself write
Finally, a big thank you to all my friends who encourage/enable (in the bad way) me. I am on my shit and my shit is telling an intricate story that I am very passionate about with characters who I love and care for. Namely, all 3 of my friends on that one discord server where I first infodumped about Wildcard, Hazel, for helping me build the character sheet and helping me come up with names and also letting me info dump to you, and Mimi, for basically the same reasons as Hazel, as well as being the first person I made a superhero story for (we did an introductory session of DnD in a superhero setting. Her character will be making a cameo at some point most likely). Also everyone who's tried to help me learn how to draw because I'm not gonna lie, my only motivation there was drawing characters for this story.
