Okay, just gonna give my two cents on this real quick. Sharing a comment of "This looks good," or, "I like these regulations," while most likely appreciated, is probably not gonna be super helpful for a public comment period on proposed regulations.
If you want to express support the new regulations that's great, but during this period the agency is typically looking for changes or omissions that need to be made before the regulation goes into effect. For this reason comments like "I don't like the like the rule grrr I like my truck the way it is," also probably aren't gonna concern the agency. Their response would basically be, okay boohoo go cry me a river it goes into effect on X date.
What they're really looking for are arguments for or against specific lines in the new regulations. If I'm not mistaken, by law the agency needs to collect and collate these comments into specific concerns which will then need to be addressed and either accepted or refuted, and if accepted reflect changes on the final version of these regulations.
So ideally, the best thing to do would be to find specific arguments people are making against the regulations, cite those arguments in your own comment, and refute them, and if you have data to back it up then you've already done most of the work refuting the point.
If not that then the next best thing would be to cite a specific line of the regulation that you appreciate the inclusion of. If you have a friend or a loved one who would have avoided death of serious injury if one of these rules was already in effect that's the sort of thing the agency wants to hear about, or if you have data to back it up even better.
And as stated previously a big thing they are looking for is omissions. If you believe there is a bit of wording or a line of text that fits under these new regulations and should be added that's exactly the sort of thing they're looking for, and if you have a personal story or data connected to it that'll be exactly what they're looking for.
I apologize if I came off scolding and for not having specific arguments you can use when commenting on this specific regulation, but seeing this post make the rounds I just wanted to give some advice from my perspective on how to best influence your government agencies and regulators.
Also, as an additional note, big influences like automakers or lobbying groups may have submitted there comments by mail or even published them in an article somewhere to show they're "fighting the good fight," to their customers/supporters. Those would be the most important comments to refute.
Think of this comment section less like a normal one, and more as part of one of those reply chains you see when a bunch of pretentious people start arguing about something unrelated. It's basically a debate floor.
IF YOU LIVE IN THE US AND WOULD RATHER NOT DIE FROM BEING HIT BY A CAR
please submit a comment on the NHTSA proposal to implement pedestrian safety test requirements for cars and trucks!!
It would finally make manufacturers design vehicles that are safer for pedestrians and cyclists, instead of the massive wall-of-steel front ends that are excessively deadly for no reason. Europe already has rules like this, but unless we comment in approval, they're not going to do anything to halt the increasing pedestrian deaths in our country.
And please share, even if you don't live in the US!

âSilenceâ chapter one
Several part slow burn with eventual copious amounts of smut. Mentions of sexual assault and gore in this chapter.
Will be posted shortly on a03 under same username đŤś
The wind nipped at your knees, its icy breath making you shiver as you instinctively tugged at the fabric of your Halloween costume, only to find it stubbornly uncooperative. The chill in the air felt like a mockery of your choice, a playful reminder that perhaps dressing as a slutty cat might not have been the best idea for October.
âAren't you the most seductive cat I've ever seen,â she cooed, walking backward as she mocked you. âOh my god, I can't wait to meet the man that steals your morbid dark heart,â she laughed breathlessly, arms jutting out above her head as she spun back around, making dramatic flair to sway her hips back and forth. âYou need to get laid tonight, seriously,â she called over her shoulder. She was right, but you couldnât shake the growing frustration of navigating the dating scene. In Miles County, it seemed like every man you encountered was nothing more than a superficial himbo, charming yet vacuous, leaving you yearning for a deeper connection. The few who seemed promising were often more interested in games than genuine relationships, making it feel nearly impossible to find someone who truly understood you.
âRight, but I don't want to fuck random guys like you do, Jen,â you murmured, remembering in high school when she would bring a new boy home every week.
âMaybe you'll meet your Romeo tonight, and fuck you; I'm a dick connoisseur, not a whore,â A light-hearted giggle escaped her lips, bubbling up with a sound that danced through the air.
As she pushed open the heavy metal door, an overwhelming rush of pungent odors assaulted her senses. The sharp, unmistakable scent of marijuana mingled with the acrid tang of spilled alcohol, creating a thick atmosphere that hung in the air. Inside, the room pulsed with the vibrant energy of dozens of voices, laughter and conversation intertwining in a chaotic symphony of sound. Dark indie grunge music thumped from hidden speakers, its deep bass resonating through the space and merging seamlessly with the animated chatter. Jen gestured to the bar, words useless in such a noisy room, and held her fingers up, making a Square, letting you know to grab your ID. At some point, someone had taken this worn-down warehouse and turned it into a bar, having to know someone who knew someone to get it. After showing the masked bartender, you ordered straight whiskey, earning a nod of appreciation. Jen noticed the subtle interaction, nudging your ribs, and leaned over, shouting over the music
âHe's hot; you should fuck him.â
âHes not really my type,â you shouted, your voice barely cutting through the pulsing beat of the music. She turned her head slightly, rolling her baby blue eyes in a dramatic fashion. While you didnât despise overly muscular men, there was something about their chiseled physiques that struck you as off-putting. You'd noticed that many of them tended to carry an air of arrogance, their confidence spilling over into egotism, making it hard for you to feel attracted to them.
â"Youâd probably find yourself drawn to a serial killer or something equally twisted, you freak,â she teased, laughter dancing in her eyes as she tugged you toward the crowded dance floor. The music thumped wildly around you, each beat pulsating with energy. Her gaze quickly shifted, locking onto her next targetâa man clad in a striking Ghostface costume, the mask gleaming under the neon lights.
âThey probably fuck good,â You shrugged off the dark thought that had briefly crossed your mind, letting it dissipate as you took a long swig of the amber liquid in your glass. The high-quality liquor burned delightfully as it slid down your throat, leaving a warm trail in its wake. Your gaze flickered over to Jen, who was ensconced in the man's embrace. She smiled up at him playfully, her thick lashes framing her eyes like the delicate petals of a flower. You scoffed, honestly, it was impressive how fast she moved, like some otherworldly sex fiend. You were jealous of her ability to Flirt, something you were never good at.
You called out her name uselessly and pointed toward the bar regardless of whether she saw you and began weaving through the sweaty crowd, occasionally bumping into inebriated, faceless bodies. You inhaled deeply, allowing the cool air of the dimly lit bar to fill your lungs. Leaning forward, you rested your elbows on the slick, damp wooden surface, feeling the chill of the bar top against your skin. You signaled to the bartender and ordered three more shots of house whiskey, the amber liquid gleaming enticingly in the low light. You figured if you weren't getting fucked tonight, you could at least get shit-faced. You downed the first two, watching a couple of people start fistfights before you began to feel the effects, becoming more carefree as you nursed your third. As the warm glow of the whiskey coursed through your veins, it enveloped your body like a comforting blanket, dulling the edges of reality. The room around you now felt stifling, the air thick with the mingled scents of smoke and spilled drinks. You needed to escape, to find a breath of coolness to soothe the rising heat.
With a sense of urgency propelling you forward, you weaved back through the crowd, brushing past oblivious patrons lost in their own revelries. Finally, you reached the back of the room and flung open the nearest door, hardly registering its appearance or what lay beyond.
The moment you stumbled outside, a rush of crisp, cold air washed over you, a stark contrast to the sweltering atmosphere indoors. It kissed your skin like a refreshing embrace, instantly easing the sweat that had begun to bead at your neck and exposed breasts. You stood there for a moment, eyes closed, relishing the sensation. You finished your third and looked up to the sky, the large air plume from your lungs materializing like a cloud, swirling hypnotically. Lost in a fog of thoughts, your mind drifted through a haze, blurring the sounds around you. Suddenly, the deep blare of a horn shattered the stillness, piercing through your reverie. The jarring noise felt like a cruel wake-up call, catching you off guard and eliciting a startled scream that echoed in the air.
âFuckâ You gasped sharply, feeling the adrenaline surge through your body as you stumbled backward, the cool, unforgiving wall pressing against your back. Your heart raced as you turned your gaze to the source.
Standing before you was a tall man, cloaked in a striking black and white clown costume that hung off his lean frame. The silk fabric shimmered slightly under the dim light, contrasting sharply against the shadows that danced around him. His face, disturbingly painted in a ghostly white, was adorned with intricate black accents that framed his large, expressive eyes, giving him an unsettling yet captivating appearance. Atop his head rested a small, perfectly arranged hat that added a touch of bizarre elegance to his ensemble, making him look both regal and menacing.
âYou scared me,â you laughed breathlessly, taking in the fake blood that saturated his fingerless gloves and the top portion of his costume. He tilted his head to the side and grinned, showcasing black teeth, seemingly stained with old blood.
âNice costume, I like the,â you circled him with your finger. âBlood,â you finished with a hiccup, cursing yourself for being a lightweight. He pointed to you and then held up his hands behind his head, making ears. Then he bent at the waist, clutching his stomach, his body shaking in strange silent laughter.
âOh, yeah, I'm a cat,â you trailed off when he stood back up, towering over you by at least a full head or more. You suddenly felt uneasy under his unwavering stare. His black grin was plastered in place, and his eyes had an unsettling glimmer that your foggy mind couldn't place.
âAre you aâŚmime?â you asked, the silence uncomfortable. He shook his head, no, a frown marring his sharp features, and pointed to his unusually growing smile. âA clown then? Are you mute or something?â
he nodded excitedly.
âThat's pretty cool, actually; I mean, I don't know why you're mute; maybe there's a reason, like traumaâŚor,â you shut your mouth and looked up to the sky again, sighing loudly. Why would you say that? The drinks were clearly sinking into your nearly empty stomach. âDo you want to come inside with me? Get a drink?â you couldn't believe the words as they left your mouth; he was creepy and didn't seem to reciprocate your flirting if you could even call it that. He bent over again in silent laughter, wiping an unseen tear from under his eye. Even scary men didn't want you, great. He saw your face contort and mocked your micro expression, pouting his lips and crossing his arms dramatically.
âRight,â you smiled weakly, âwell, it was nice to meet you,â you said, breaking him out of his mock impression of you. He reached down and picked up a large black
Trash bag and threw it over his shoulder, making it seem weightless despite its bulging appearance. You hadn't even noticed it before and became curious about its contents but decided not to ask after embarrassing yourself enough for one night. He held his hand and waved his fingers under his chin, making you giggle. You threw up your hand in a wave and turned around, opening the door, the sound of chaos filling your ears again.
âWhere the fuck have you been,â Jen shouted over the music, barging right into you, making you sway on unsteady feet.
âJesus, Jen. I got some fresh air,â you said defensively.
âWell, tell me next time, I got worried. My
Pal here,â she gestured behind her to the man in the ghost face costume, âhas a friend who wants to meet you,â she gave you a look as if to say, âI'm helping you get laidâ. You cast a fleeting glance at the man standing behind her, offering a feeble smile that lacked any true warmth or sincerity. Then, you turned your attention back to her.
âWhatever. I'll need at least two more drinks,â you finished, irritation clear on your face, but Jen was oblivious, squealing loudly. She linked her arms with yours, pulling you along like a lost puppy.
âSo, he's charming, and I think your type. I don't know, though; your taste in men is questionable,â her lips pulled up in disgust.
At the bar, she ordered you two more drinks, this time fruity, overly sweet ones with little colorful umbrellas in them.
âCute,â you rolled your eyes, plucking one from the drink and tossing it onto the ground.
âSo, this is Maverick, Maverick, this is my super hot friend,â you heard her say. Turning slowly to face them, you eyed him from the floor up. He possessed a certain rugged charm that could easily be considered attractive, with strong features and a confident posture. However, the moment he flashed his self-satisfied grin, an air of smugness enveloped him, casting a shadow over his appearance.
âA cat, huh? Cool,â he smirked, sipping his drink. You glared at Jen before looking back at him. âWanna walk around and chat?â he asked. He seemed nice enough, and you can't remember the last time you didn't have a hollow orgasm, your fingers only doing so much.
âYou know what, sure,â you smiled tightly and began walking away with him before Jen grabbed your wrist, âHey, me and ghostly are gonna head to my place. Will you be okay for the rest of the night with maverick? Just make sure to call an uber. Don't. Drive.â her mothering tone back in place. You had a flare of anger for her ditching you, but it was nothing new. It created a rift in your friendship, nonetheless. âI'm fine,â your voice took on a harsher tone as you ripped your wrist out of her hand. You heard her mumbled something to her boy toy of the week about you being an insufferable bitch, making you wish you never met her, the state of drunkenness in you both drawing real feelings to the surface. You turned back to Maverick, letting him lead you.
âA little quieter back here,â he hummed, downing the rest of his drink. You smiled as way of answering and looked around, taking in your surroundings. You were in an unfinished area of the building, the music faint but still seeping through to where you were. You awkwardly sipped your drink while holding the other, the condensation threatening to take it from your hand. You were too drunk.
âSo,â he stepped toward you, your feet clumsily shifting back, stirring up dust. âYou look real slutty. I love Halloween.â he chuckled, proud of himself. You couldn't believe what he said at first. It was all too much, and you regretted following him immediately. He stepped forward again, your back bumping into a cool steel beam.
âWhat are you doing?â you questioned some ire in your tone.
âI mean, you're asking for it wearing that, right?â he scoffed, taking a drink from your hand and sipping it.
âHey asshole-â you protested before being cut off as a sharp slap across your cheek stung your face, stunning you into silence.
âShut the fuck up,â he hissed, slapping you again, this time much harder. Making your face feel like pins and needles.
âFuck you,â you yelled, voice taught with pain but cut off; again, as he put his hand over your mouth, you struggled against him, but he was too strong, and you were too intoxicated. He began pulling your costume up, exposing your thighs, stomach, and ass.
âFuck yes,â he growled, tearing your underwear off with one hand and discarding it to the ground, his other hand moving to your throat, gripping firmly.
âGirls are so easy,â he said darkly, and it hit you that this wasn't the first time he's done this. He dipped his fingers in between your legs , only to be met with resistance and no lubrication, which seemed to anger him, another firm slap across your face, so hard it would bruise. Fat tears fell from your eyes dripping onto his hand as you shook your head no. You watched in fear as he pulled out his erection, stroking himself a few times before he let a despicable glob of saliva fall from his mouth onto his waiting erection. You struggled under him, but were held in place, your muffled screams reaching no one. He removed the hand around your neck and wet his fingertips, inserting them Into you, making you scream at the intrusion, your legs kicking out to land a blow, but it was useless.
âFuck, yes,â he barked, flipping you around, your face slamming into the beam, nearly knocking you unconscious, a cruel, sinister thought crossing your mind that it would be better than being awake for the rape if you were just dead. He hiked up your dress again, pulling your waist so that your ass was presented to him, the head of his dick probing your entrance as another wracked sob left you, this time unhindered, as his hands were busy on your hips. You took it as an opportunity to yell for help and attempt to pull yourself free, hoarse screams leaving you.
âHELPâŚ. Please, someone, HELP,â you begged to anyone who would hear.
Warm liquid spilled onto your back, making you flinch. You cried out, hoping he had finished already, meaning the worst would be over until you felt the warm fluid again and again. You turned your head, a guttural scream leaving you as you saw an old, rusted axe brought down onto his head repeatedly, the exposed bone of his skull and brain matter making you spill the contents of your stomach on the ground. You tripped over your feet and fell to the floor onto your knees, crawling on the dirty, unforgiving concrete. You turned in time and watched in horror as his body fell with a thud, splattering blood all over your face. Behind him, the monochromatic clown from earlier stood, chest rising and falling rapidly, a chaotic gleam to his black eyes, and wearing more blood than he was earlier. He looked at you then, sending adrenaline to your limbs, but you were frozen in place. He tilted his head, then smiled, his bloodied hand that was holding the axe raising in a seemingly harmless wave.
âHi,â you said, your voice no more than a whisper. He seemed pleased you acknowledged him and turned back to the body. He pointed at the man's exposed genitals and raised his bloody pointer finger and thumb together, leaving little to no space between them, as if to say, âlook how tinyâ, throwing his head back in silent laughter, bloodied hand clutching his stomach.
âPlease. Please don't kill me,â you began to cry again. He seemed annoyed at the sound and grimly looked at you with his chin pointed to the floor. Not seeing a smile on his face was most unsettling, making him look like a demon straight from the depths of hell. You scooted across the floor further away from him, watching as he took dramatic over, exaggerated steps toward you, smile back in place.
âNononono,â you whimpered, looking up at him, shaking your head vehemently at his outstretched bloody hand. He offered it again, more persistent this time. You took
It but mostly out of fear of what would
happen if you didn't and allowed him to pull you up from the floor easily, quietly admiring his strength for only a moment. He motioned to your dress that was still hiked up around your waist, making you gasp at being so exposed in front of him. He laughed again, pointing at your face before mocking your expression like earlier.
âStop, you're scaring me,â you told him, voice hoarse. He pouted and waved a hand at you dismissively as if to say, âno, I'm not.â You watched as he crouched down and shuffled around the body, finger tapping his chin as if thinking what else to add. He dragged his black trash bag over and began to dig through it, ultimately settling on a dull, rusty butter knife, his mouth forming Into a perfect âOâ as he examined the dullness with his fingers. He smiled at you from the ground and began to hack away at the body's genitals. You gagged and turned just in time to spew the rest of your undigested drinks from your stomach. He stared at you, rolling his eyes before continuing. You began to feel dizzy, your brain spinning around in your head until you started to slump over. The last thing you saw was him waving to you, his dark smile lulling you away.
**********
The constant drip of water by your head startled you awake, your bare legs thrashing around on the ground until you sat up, your body buzzing. Your memories from last night came back at a neauseating speed. You were drunk, raped, and almost murdered in the span of several hours. You held your hand in front of you, willing it to stop shaking, although you weren't sure if it was from unanswered emotions bubbling over or the frigid temperatures you were currently exposed to. You stood, straining on your legs, remembering your badly scrapped knees. A clumsy hand reached out to support yourself on a nearby shelf. This wasn't the same warehouse from last night; you were moved. The room started to spin; next, muted browns and black from the room mixing together, disorienting you further. You reached a hand to your forehead and felt around until your fingers trembled over a large cut. That fucking clown, he saved you, but for how long you'd be spared, you didn't know, spurring you into action. You turned to leave the room but met a chest first, strong hands gripping your shoulders to keep you from falling. You opened your mouth to scream, but he clapped a hand over your mouth and turned you around so that your back was flush to his front. His body radiated cold, unmovable firmness that made you shiver. He stared down at you sternly, expression communicating, âAre you done.â You nodded, eyes never leaving his. He released you and stepped back, his stare intense, making you shrink into yourself. He pointed to your head and held both hands, palm up. In your concussed mind, it took some time to realize he was asking about your head.
âOh, um, it hurts still,â you spoke softly,
Your throat was sore. âI need to go home,â you were afraid to speak, but it seemed as though, for whatever reason, you were being left unharmed.
He shook his head no, pointed outside, then made his fingers walk on his palm, then put both of his hands together and held them to his cheek, his eyes closing before opening them again, nodding excitedly while pointing at himself.
âI don't understand,â you clutched your arms, a cold breeze ripping through the open window littering your skin with goosebumps. He stared at you exasperated and shook his head, jabbing a finger at his chest then pointed to you again, making walking fingers.
âYou want toâŚwalk me home?â the implication of that unsettling. âNo, I, I'm cold and sore. I can just go,â you stumbled over your words, backing away without realizing it. He held up a finger telling you to wait and left the room. You shifted uncomfortably, looking for any potential exit if you needed to flee, jumping out of your skin when he returned with an old tattered blanket. He smiled, flashing black teeth, holding it out to you.
âUm, thanks,â you grabbed it from his hands, surprised at the cleanliness of the fabric. âAre you going to kill me? Why did you save me?â you asked, more urgently than you intended. You had to know; the feeling of the unknown was unsettling.
He shrugged, a playful glint in his eyes. Your eyes widened, and you shuffled back, his nonchalant response making you tremble.
âI-I don't understand, you're just toying with me?â frustration evident in your tone; you wished he would just let you go; your body was overwhelmed with pain and fear, the muscles in your neck stiff from shaking. He walked over to you, his sadistic smile growing wide as he watched your back bump into the wall. Once he was in front of you his hand reached out and patted the top of your head; silent laughter ensued when you flinched violently. He pointed to you, then the floor, waiting.
âYou want me to sit?â you asked, having difficulties communicating with his silent movements. He nodded eagerly, head lowering with your body as you squatted onto the floor, watching you cross your legs and pull the blanket around you in a cacoon. You relished in the small comfort of warmth.
He towered over you, eyes narrowed as he took you in. You wish you knew what he was thinking; if he could talk, maybe you could manipulate him into freeing you. He turned to leave the room but paused in the doorway when you shouted for him, âPLEASE,â you begged, his head turning slightly to let you know he heard you.
âI'm scared,â you said, voice coming out broken, mouth dry. You weren't sure he heard you, and you couldn't compartmentalize why you told him that; your thoughts scattered like marbles across the floor, slipping from your hands when you tried to pick them up.
That was hours ago, and the sun was starting to set, your breath making condensation in the air again. You heard him in the room adjacent to you, metal clinking and hammering. You stood on your feet, wincing when you took a step, your body sore and weak. You don't know why you didn't run or why you went to him, but you did, quietly following the noise and stepping into the room he was in. His back was to you as he sat bent over a decrepit desk, various pieces of metal strewn about, his hands stilling on a rusty pair of scissors.
His body turned in his chair until he faced you, legs spread open. You watched as he set the siccors down and placed both hands on his knees.
âWhat's your name?â you asked, taking another tentative step into the room.
He cocked his head, chin pointed down so he was staring at you through his brows, the black paint around his eyes casting his them in darkness. He waved his hand through the air as if to say, âcome hereâ. You shuffled over, watching as his smile grew the closer you got. You stopped a few feet away, which seemed to annoy him, an overdramatic pout pulling his lips down. You smiled softly to appear submissive and stepped closer, eyeing the tools he no doubt has used on other poor souls. His eyes caught yours, and he turned to look at the table and looked back at you, shaking his head no.
âYou won't hurt me. Is that what you're saying?â
He nodded excitedly, clapping his hands together, proud you understood him. Ironically the only sound you've ever heard him make. He stilled making an âOâ with his mouth, holding one finger in the air. You watched as he disappeared Into what appeared to be a bathroom conjoined to the room, returning a moment later with a tin can filled with strange liquid. He approached you, grabbing your shoulders and turning you to face a blank wall, parts of wallpaper peeling off, exposing mildew-soaked wood. You wrapped the blanket around yourself tighter and watched as he dipped a long finger into the can and began to draw on the wall, quickly realizing the liquid was old, coagulated blood. He stepped back, holding both arms out, clearly proud of his work.
âArt?â you asked, confused.
He nodded vigorously while jabbing a finger at his chest, saying, âThat's me.â
âYour name is art? I like that,â you said, mulling it over, your lips pulling up in the corners. You looked up to see him already watching you, an unreadable expression on his face.
âArt,â you said again, his face becoming dark at hearing you use his name, his lips pulled down slightly. âThank you for saving me last night,â you clutched your arms under the blanket, becoming uncomfortable. His face was terrifying when a smile wasn't on it.
âUm, id really like to go home, art,â your voice coming out weak at the potential rejection. He spurred into action, grin back in place as he strode past you, patting your head several times.
You couldn't be sure of the time when you left, but it was late, the cold cutting through the thin fabric of the blanket, short Halloween dress underneath doing nothing to keep you warm. The warehouse he had set up in had been here for years; parts of the building had fallen apart, leaving gaping holes, allowing some nature to make itself home. You remember passing by it as a child on your way home from school; oddly enough, it only sat a few blocks from your house, the one you inherited when both of your parents died the year after you turned 18. You looked up at art; his stride had a playful, mischievous bounce, eyes scanning the darkness for his next victim if you had to guess.
You rounded the corner of your street, your pace picking up upon seeing your home.
âThis is it,â you breathed, shuffling up the steps and turning over a potted plant, the house key cold in your hands as you unlocked the door, warm air greeting you when the door swung open. You turned to face him, offering a smile. You weren't really sure how you felt knowing a crazy clown knew where you lived, but it was a little late for late, so you did the unthinkable.
âDo youâŚwant to come in?â
He sat there momentarily, staring before playfully shoving past you into your house.
It was small but suited you. The living room was to the right as soon as you walked in, soft throws and pillows scattered about your couch. The kitchen was straight back, and to the left, a small island littered with bills in the center. He picked up a few before tossing them down, opening a few drawers, and rummaging around. You disappeared into your bedroom a few feet to the right and slipped into the bathroom. You stared at your face for a few moments, blood, dirt, and mascara smudged across it, a
A reminder of what happened. You let out a frustrated whine and grabbed a rag, letting the water get to an unbearable temperature before you started to scrub, your face clean but numb when you were done. You stripped from your clothes and pulled on an oversized sweater and sleep shorts, not able to bear being in the clothes you were raped in any longer.
When you entered the kitchen, a frantic voicemail from Jen was filling the room; you didn't have the heart to get rid of the outdated home phone and machine after your parents died.
âLook, I know I was a bitch and ditched you, but some guy was murdered there last night, they couldn't even identify him. It's all over the news. Some crazy guy they're calling the Miles County clown. Anyways, I just want to make sure you're alive. CALL ME BACKâ
You stared up at him, your head having to crane back, your shoulder brushing his arm. He flipped off the machine as if to say, âfuck herâ
âYeah,â you said, finding it funny you were silently communicating with him. Your eyes fluttered closed momentarily, your body leaning onto his arm, admiring briefly how unmovable he was. He tapped your nose a couple of times, making you gasp, your bloodshot eyes shooting open. You were beyond tired with a killer standing in your kitchen, but you weren't scared; you almost felt safe near him. Something you weren't sure how to feel about. You wanted to ask him why he was sparing you, but you didn't want to remind him that he could or should.
He looked down at you, making the sleeping motion with his hands again like earlier. You nodded the affirmative and watched as he walked into your bedroom, turning in a comical circle and taking in your quaint space. He caught your eye, wagging his eyebrows at you, his eyes trailing leisurely up your bare legs to your face. Your cheeks heated, no doubt a deep red blush spreading across them. He bent over
In laughter, slapping his knee and pointing at you. You scoffed and shoved past him, pulling the blankets back on your bed, too tired to know what to do with him. He shuffled around, facing you, with dark eyes watching your movements, making you feel like prey.
âIt was very nice to meet you, art, but I need sleep. I have work in the morningâ
He nodded and turned to leave, making hardly any sound on the worn-out wood floors.
âArt?â you called, watching as he turned back to face you, eyebrows raised expectantly.
âWill I see you ever again?" your mind swirled, the comfort of your bed seeping into your bones making you say things you didn't mean. You watched him shrug and disappear, not even hearing him when he left and closed your door.
You jumped out of bed and peered through your front window, but no black and white clown was in sight. You threw the deadbolt, the loud metallic thunk reverberating in the room. Although you were sure if art wanted to get in he could.

I know everyone is mostly joking with the whole âoh the GPDA should strikeâ thing after their statement in instagram, but I really think we should be having a conversation about how actually, they canât strike, and that lack of ability to use collective bargaining can be and may be incredibly dangerous.
The issue with the GPDA as a union is that it only covers the twenty current Formula 1 drivers. Now, many people see no issue with this - why would anyone else need coverage? - but this is what sort of hamstrings the GPDA as a union. Should the members go on strike, there would be backlash in the press, pressure on the FIA, FOM, Liberty and the teams - but there are other drivers, who have the super licences needed to drive an F1 car. And could you even blame them? Weâve seen how hard it can be for rookies to get a seat - Colapinto looks a lot like he may be able to get on the grid, either for next year or the year after, and that is a swansong MIRACLE that came out of nowhere for him. Lawson and Piastri had to wait on the sidelines, as did Doohan. The only Driverâs Academies that seem to be working are Ferrariâs (A Leclerc off to WEC, Bearman in Haas), Mercedesâ to an extent (They tossed Aron aside when heâs been doing fantastically, but Antonelli has a seat) and sort of Mclarenâs (Bortoleto was under them in F2, but he has now severed ties to sign for Audi.). And even then they CLEARLY have their failures. Can you truly blame young drivers for taking any and every opportunity handed to them when so few succeed at all?
A strike would be very easily defeated by the FIA and Co - and there would be no guarantee of contracts post strike, and although the WDCs and highest level drivers could probably weather the storm, there is no way the rookies and those from smaller teams would be able to, and they could likely lose their seats over it. Quite frankly, the only way for a strike to work in the drivers favour in this day and age would be for them to vote to include all drivers who have superlicences in the union, and then for all of them to strike together.
A reminder: every driver who has an official contract with a team entered into the F1 championship can apply for a superlicence, if they hold the other requirements (usually a certain number of points plus a driverâs licence pluse a competition licence plus a theory test on first sitting), which means drivers from IndyCar, WEC, lower formulas, Formula E and test drivers are all usually eligible, or can be. I think the official number is around 70ish drivers are eligible, plus any retired F1 drivers who keep up the fitness standard and 100km of practise across a year - so drivers such as Jacques Villneauve could potentially still have a valid superlicence, so long as he proved he did enough practise.
Aside from the sheer unlikelihood of the GPDA being allowed to vote to include all holders of valid superlicences - which could possibly lead to the core members facing severe consequences, possibly the same as striking on their own - there are a lot of drivers who would not strike for safety precautions, purely they donât think they are necessary (Brundle on the halo) or because they know if they broke the line they could get a drive, and because the GPDA has so little political power it very rarely is able to intercede to set minimum wages etc the way other unions are able to, any drivers breaking the line would know they werenât losing out on anything but a moral argument, and potential safety issues. Some people donât think about safety until they need it.
The current state of affairs is just incredibly concerning, and I think that although itâs fun and fine to make jokes about it, we should definitely remember both the driverâs own lack of agency, and that even though some arenât satisfied with the statement they put out, it is perhaps one of the only things they can do.

Ok so obv it's not ok to sacrifice a blemished calf but the blemish is just on the eyelid? So maybe it's ok? But also and i don't want people to start going around thinking that it's ok to sacrifice blemished animals. But the thing is that if i don't bar Kamtza will tell the Romans we insulted them and that will be bad probably. And like no one likes bar Kamtza anyway will people really miss him..... but ugh neither of these seem like good things to do i don't feel like it's my place to make a decision about this :/

Hey, I'm trying to ask this in good faith, and I hope you can take it that way. how can you possibly defend burning our grain stores. I understand that you want to radicalize more people but you're taking things too far. Jerusalem's blood is on your hands.
anon, what you need to understand is that the blame for the carnage in jerusalem lies primarily in the hands of the roman invaders and secondarily in the hands of the rabbis for refusing to resist. would you have told the hashmonaim not to resist their oppressors by any means necessary? just because this is getting inconvenient for you doesn't mean we shouldn't be doing it. it's frankly offensive that you'd imply that we, the defenders of jerusalem, should incur any blame for her current state.

OMG YAY SOMEONE DOING ACTUAL DISCUSSION :D
anyways i agree that transids can most definitely be used in harmful ways!!
in fact, i am quite conscious of the possibility for transids to be harmful, and despite being quite a self destructive person i feel this strange sense of responsibility for my transids to not be detrimental to my wellbeing XD, so i put thought into what transids i identify as and how i go about it
i would love love more discussion of this within the community though!!! (probably need to get off my ass and start it myself ;-;)
ELABORATING, in general, i think there's two main ways of dealing with thought/feeling based problems. there's getting rid of the problem, or working with it and turning it into something positive. (both of those can be the better one, depending on the situation.) transids are GREAT for the second option! if there's thoughts/feelings that you're realistically not gonna get rid of, i find transids to be an excellent coping mechanism. the perspective change you mentioned can be very, very helpful! however, like you said, they can sometimes reinforce negative thoughts/feelings that could have instead been stopped, preventing people from healing.
so yeah, that should be something to take under account before identifying with certain transids. ask oneself it'll be healthy or unhealthy before committing, ya know? and keep in mind that one can always stop identifying as it at any point
also regarding your last paragraph, that's kind of what i find so interesting about transids!! they're so broad and while some transids are very transid specific experiences, there's also ones that cover a wide range of 'normal' experiences. They're basically a framework for viewing yourself through if you get deep enough into them- they're a fascinating method of interpreting one's experiences. (i need to make a post abt this + my three tier model of identity lol)
people identifying as transID aren't doing this to mock your experiences. they're doing this BECAUSE THEY FEEL THAT WAY, and they have the right to talk about their experiences
#damn i need to get off my ass and write some essays this made some ideas form in my head#also this took foreverrrr to write bc my phone is kinda broken and when it overheats it starts ghost touching everything TwT#discourse#silly's musings#<- fuck it this also gets the musings tag

I love to check you blog every day when I get up and when I go to bed and it's funny that you posted the shockwave fic literally before I got into bed, just after I was thinking of whirl and shockwave while getting ready to sleep. 𼺠Can't wait to see more tfp shockwave around here
A bit of serendipity đ
This oneâs 18+ đ but not for fun reasons, rather dubious, horrific science on Shockwaveâs part
Point of Extinction Pt 4
TFP Shockwave x Reader
⢠Even if you canât see whatâs going on in the lab from your opaque box, you canât shut out the sound. A high pitched bleating that just gets sharper, more awful until youâre pressed into a corner of your box, knees drawn tight to your body and your palms pressed against your ears in an attempt to shut it out. When that soul wrenching sound abruptly ends after what feels like forever, youâre shaking uncontrollably and sick to your stomach.
⢠âExperiment fourteen. Failure,â Shockwave growls at the drone placidly hovering and recording. Every failure brings him closer, though. Step by step to creating a new home. A fail safe in case Cybertron canât be revived, but progress is almost painfully slow. Terraforming organic life much more erratic than heâd like. Flicking the end of his cannon at the drone to end the recording and go charge, he turns back to his other experiment. âCome, Thirteen.â Leaning closer to find you huddled in a corner, trembling.
⢠Your head comes up at the sound of Shockwaveâs voice, panic seizing you as he reaches into your cage, his servos wet with blood. âDonât.â Shoving back tighter into your corner when he makes to pick you up. Terrified youâre next. That youâre about to suffer whatever it was he just did to some poor animal. Hoping it was an animal not a person making that sound. Freezing, Shockwave stares at you, that unreadable face dipping to look at his hand like heâd forgotten. Servos trembling slightly as he pulls away, disappearing from sight.
⢠Donât. You canât do this. Moving to cleanse his hand, for a moment his processor is tangled in the chaos of a memory that isnât truly his. Hands on his arms, seizing him against his will. Dragging him⌠somewhere. The memory shreds when he tries to pull it close. Screaming. He remembers screaming when they took his optics. No, he only has one. Heâs only ever had one. Heâs not sure, though. Servos of his one hand shaking, he turns his attention to the cannon his other arm ends in. Sometimes he swears he can feel those nonexistent servos. Theyâre like the memories that arenât his, but are. Wrong, hurtful things that snare him. Turning back to your cage, he leans closer bothered by the way you shake. âThirteen.â
⢠Heâs back and you shudder as he reaches for you again. His big hand is clean now, still wet, but you canât make yourself go to him willingly. But you canât make him angry either if your survival depends on being good. Being cooperative. âYouâre not going to hurt me, right?â You ask, eyes burning as you stand and walk over to him. Putting yourself in his servos.
⢠Carefully curling his servos around you, he lifts you free. Something about how insubstantial and warm you feel in his grip skitters through him. Trusting him when you probably shouldnât. He canât even trust his own memories, how can you trust him? âNo,â he says. Comforting your fear even though itâs illogical. It doesnât, shouldnât, matter, but it somehow does. You make a sharp sound, staring at fourteen and you start shaking harder.
⢠It was a deer. At least you think it was. Why heâd thought a deer should have that many, spidery legs or a skull that split open to house awkward looking mandibles is beyond you. Itâs a half formed mess of flesh, fur, and metal. The bones partially warped with liquid metal and twisting out of its rib cage, viscera shiny and wet spilling out. Dry heaving, you press your face against his servos. Donât want to see what heâs done. What he might do to you. âWhy?â He hasnât hurt you, so youâd convinced yourself that you were safe. But this? Heâs not safe and definitely doesnât actually care for you. Heâs a monster.
⢠Rooted to the ground, he stares at the failed experiment. Something uneasy in the back of his processor whispering that he should have cleaned it up before retrieving you, but it hadnât occurred to him that the sight would bother you. The way youâre shaking in his hand is clawing at him, twisting in his spark. A feeling he can almost remember, an emotion that he doesnât have anything more than a dull echo of and canât understand. Illogical even as he brings you closer to his chassis, turning so you canât see the mess anymore and running a trembling servo along your arm. Needing to understand. To remember.

How to Create a MEMORABLE Character
A while back, I released a post about how to write "that" character, which basically highlights a few key aspects found in some of the most popular characters to date. However, a popular character and a memorable one is actually quite different, and in this post, I'll briefly explain how to create a character that people will remember.
For starters, a memorable character doesn't actually have to be well-liked. Yes, popular characters tend to be memorable, but it's not always the same other way around. I'll simply explain how to form a character that really sticks with your audience, regardless of their actual opinion about them! And even better, these following ideas work on any type of character! So, if you're interested, let's dive right in!
~ FIRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER ~
I sometimes talk about the importance of a character's reputation because it shows how others view them and the truths and inaccuracies of their character!
But your character's image isn't bound to your cast's eyes--it actually matters a lot to your readers.
When you first introduce your character, do not immediately reveal everything about them. Instead, focus on establishing one or two core traits of your character instead. This will allow your readers to form their own opinions of your character first, and although they might be inaccurate, when the readers realize their misjudgment, the character will get stuck in their head!
For example, there's Tsukishima Kei from Haikyuu!!. Initially, the viewers may think about him negatively because of his introduction. He first appears as a blunt, mocking, and disrespectful person, but as the story continues and the audience slowly warms up to him, we start to see his real character, resulting in Tsukishima becoming one of the most beloved characters in Haikyuu!!.
Why does this matter? The thing is, when we meet new people, we all make assumptions about their personality, goodwill, and whatnot. As we get to know them further, we realize that some of our initial judgements may have been wrong; it's simply an unavoidable part of life. By incorporating that aspect into your writing, you're forcing your readers to think deeper about your characters!
~ GIVE THEM THEIR TIME ~
This will seem obvious but it's precisely because of how obvious it is that it'll often slip people's minds. Give your character the time they deserve. You can do this by exploring their backstory, defining their motivations, giving them some important action, or simply establishing some kind of critical or eye-catching moment regarding them!
If you can't afford to give them a huge role in your story, then give your readers an event focusing on your character that will come to their mind when they think of said character! Like a defining moment!
It can be dramatic, sad, short, anything works! As a matter of fact, you've probably done this unconsciously before, too!
~ MAKE THEM DIMENSIONAL ~
If you can't tell already, it's incredibly important to be aware of your characters' distinctive traits and how they shape your character. However, there are times that a character will and should break their character.
A happy person can't be happy all the time. A carefree person can't be carefree all the time. Even a cold person will have some shifts in character.
This can help will character development, especially if you're not planning to give them a lot of development, but also really humanizes your character! Everyone will eventually get bored of the same personality; people may change in different situations!
See? In the end, this is really just a simple guide--everything is perfectly achievable no matter what character you're writing! These are some good points to keep in mind if you're looking for a character that resonates with the audience!
Happy writing~
3hks ^^

â¤ď¸ a good time!
tat!buckyâs favorite (or least favorite) thing about twelve
⌠why not both?
cause and effect
chapter summary: How Bucky fell in love with Twelve: Slowly, and then all at once.
pairing: bucky barnes x time witch!reader
word count: 1.8k
warnings: light angst and negative self talk (this is bucky y'all); some light pining đ¤please note that my blog is rated 18+. minors dni. ageless/empty blogs will be blocked without warning.
a/n: i've literally had this one in my drafts for about two years and i hadn't actually planned on posting it for a while yet but i did promise distractions. and i missed him. i always do.
this is part of the time after time universe but can be read as a teaser and/or a standalone đ
Buckyâs relationship with time has been fractured ever since a cold day in January that stole away the life he was headed towards and turned him into the monster underneath a childâs bed.
Itâs hard to feel good about the concept of time travel once a lot of your own time has been taken away from you. Even now, thereâs only so many things in his life he has control over; like the fact that heâs actively choosing to go back to therapy now, or that heâs able to keep a pet for the first time since he was thirteen years old. Stupid little things, like what kind of food he wants for lunch or whether he should take the stairs or the elevator.
Every single one of these things heâs fought for tooth and nail, clawing his way out of the past and carving out his own space in reality again, struggling, trying, hanging on like he wasnât able to all those decades ago.
Heâs probably still failing.
Some days, clinging to the present is tense and brings him nothing but grief. Sometimes, it feels like heâs going to have to mourn the past forever, whatever might have been; and maybe thatâs his sentence.
He wouldnât have wished it on anyone. He deserves worse.
And then thereâs you.
Flickering in and out of time, constantly moving, changing in the time it takes him to blink.
Itâs infuriating to him, the way you get to use your powers. The way you donât need to think about consequences, because they donât have to be permanent, donât have to be something you need to live with for the rest of your life. To you, time has always been something that can be changed with a single snap of your fingers. Whatever you do can just as easily be undone.
Once you decide youâve seen enough, you can just take the scene from the top.
And youâre so stubborn.
Youâve already seen how this goes on if you let it, and so youâre always right, end of story. Thereâs an ease to your steps because of it, a nonchalance in every movement, and it makes Buckyâs blood boil to see it so plainly.
With all the good that you could do, you choose to do nothing instead; to stay out of the picture entirely and burn through your powers just because you can, wasting them all on things that donât mean anything.
How many lives could you potentially save?
Instead, you consume disturbing amounts of caffeine and then continue to provide running commentary to the world around you based on things that, to him, never happen at all. "Do this", "donât do that", "take the other one", or, his absolute favorite, "donât make me fix that".
Why not? he wants to ask, say, demand. Why not fix all of it?
It takes a while for him to realize that all of your fire means youâre burning from both ends. In fact, it takes Becca.
"You should bring her by sometime," she tells him on a rainy afternoon. "While Iâm still alive and kicking."
His little sister just turned ninety-eight. Her kitchen sideboard is filled with black-and-white pictures reminding him of all the things in her life that he missed, arranged in perfect little wooden frames.
"And why would I do that?" Bucky asks, scowling at his cards.
"Because you keep mentioning her," Rebecca says dryly and whisks the cards onto her pile with quick fingers.
"You gotta be kidding me," he groans, noting down her points. "And I donât."
"Do, too. I donât remember you being this terrible at this game."
"Because I havenât caught you when youâre cheating."
"Exactly. Itâs embarrassing." She wins the next trick, too. "Howâs Tuesday?"
"Am I clairvoyant now?"
"I was thinking lunch."
"No." Finally, he gets a couple of points down. When he glances up at his sister again, sheâs looking at him expectantly and he sighs. "What?"
"You canât fault me for being curious," she says. She has just as many opinions as she did when she was sixteen. Her eyes are still the same, too, the same shade of blue as his and the same glimmer of archness as their mother.
"Donât you think itâs weird?" Bucky says, finally giving in. "The whole ⌠time thing?"
"I think itâs very weird, but soâs you returning from the dead and kvetching about it." Her eyes narrow when he starts to protest. His mouth closes again. "Besides," she continues, shuffling her hand around, "it doesnât sound all that fun."
"To have the power to never make mistakes?"
"To have to live through every mistake twice without anyone knowing."
Something about her words strikes him like a match, and so he tilts his head and squints at her and thinks that maybe, just maybe, heâs got it wrong.
That you carry not only your past, but all the futures youâve seen that never came to be; all the what ifs having turned into answers.
And he thinks, how nice. And then he thinks, how horrifying.
Itâs a thought that follows him over the next couple of weeks, and it starts reframing your interactions for him, in a way.
"Will you stop staring at me," you say without looking up from your book.
Honestly, he canât. Heâs still trying to pick up on it, the split second between before and after, that little change of your posture, your hair, your face, that tells him more time has passed for you than it has for him.
Itâs more of a feeling than anything else, something right at the back of his mind telling him that something is different if he concentrates on it enough, but heâs never sure what it is. And he doesnât like that; not one bit.
So Bucky crosses his arms and leans back. "Why?"
A flash of irritation makes your nose twitch, even though you still refuse to meet his eye.
"Itâs rude, for one."
"Noted." He waits for the two that never comes. "Anything else?"
And there it is. A blink-and-you-miss-it kind of moment, like the air shifting around you ever so slightly, a certain knowing glint in your eyes when you roll them and get up.
"Annoying!"
He canât help it. He wonders what your original answer was.
***
Buckyâs relationship with time changes slowly, the deepest cuts carefully mending themselves until looking back doesnât feel like getting his bones ripped apart anymore, until he looks at you on a cold day in January and realizes heâs fucked.
At first, he hopes that it might be a fluke. A trick of the light, maybe, or seasonal allergies. Thatâs the reason why his eyes are drawn to your face as soon as he enters a room; the closest source of discomfort always the thing he seeks out first. Thatâs the reason why his chest constricts like that.
But the truth is, he knows this feeling has been building slowly; heâs just been unwilling to admit it.
Something soft and delicate has started to nestle in that gaping hole inside his chest, unbothered by the walls heâs so carefully built up.
Heâd never planned on you.
Fuck, if heâd known in the beginning, he mightâve âŚ
No, he thinks. He wouldnât have changed anything.
Because youâre too good for him, anyway, and he knows it. Smart and strong and funny and gorgeous and capable of things heâs not sure heâll ever fully comprehend; and itâs worse than that, because he knows you now.
Youâre grouchy in the mornings and you make terrible jokes when youâre nervous and you have a strange feud with his cat and your smile makes him want to put his fist through the wall because what is he supposed to do with any of this?
Heâs not made for this dance anymore. That part was taken from him so long ago, and heâs delusional to think that anything or anyone could return it to him after all the bridges heâd been made to cross and burn. Why would someone like him deserve to be given tenderness anymore in this life? Why would anyone want to try?
But that foolish thing blooming inside him feels a lot like hope, despite of what he keeps telling himself.
Thereâs just something about you that keeps pulling him in, and honestly, heâs tired of fighting it. Then again, the thought of you feeling the same is nothing short of ridiculous.
Heâs not the same guy as he used to be. Hell, sometimes heâll look at old photographs and barely recognize himself.
He remembers life before, and maybe thatâs what makes this so hard. He remembers talking to pretty girls, their bright smiles, their soft skin underneath his hands. Good times were easy to come by, even though life was hard in a different way, then. But he was good at it; acting on his feelings alone used to be simple, fun, second-nature almost.
Itâs different now.
It used to be different only once before, and look where thatâs gotten him.
No, he canât say anything. Not ever; or not yet, at any rate.
Sometimes, though, Bucky lies awake at night and listens to the rain knocking against his window, and he remembers how much easier falling asleep used to be when he had someone next to him and his mattress didnât swallow him alive.
Heâll remember the dark circles under your eyes and wish it could be as easy as asking, too. He wonders if thereâs a universe you remember where he tries, but he doubts it.
These days, he knows his mind again. And itâs not a burden he wants to share.
You have enough to carry on your own.
Maybe, he thinks as he stares up at the ceiling at three in the morning, maybe thereâs still a certain comfort in your powers, in knowing all the possibilities, but it also means constantly losing something thatâs real; always mourning the life that isnât.
He can relate to that.
And maybe that means you can relate to him, too, at least a little bit.
Itâs odd, how comforting that last little thought is to him.
When he does eventually fall asleep, you make your way into his dreams, too, sometimes. Those times are the worst.
Youâre you, and heâs him, and thereâs a sort of "us" in the both of you that doesnât exist in real life. So when you let him lace his fingers with yours and press your lips to his forehead and it feels easy, thatâs usually the point when he wakes up, heart tumbling over itself, right hand tracing the ghost of your touch, always too much, never enough.
He knows itâs not real.
He knows itâs just an indulgence; selfish, really.
The problem is that whatever small hope has decided to settle in his very core is impossible to kill, no matter how much he pushes it down; and heâs not sure he wants to lose it again.
Secretly, silently, serendipitously, you make him have faith in the future again.
But itâs not time for it yet.

break time
i'm going to take a rest from working on the game. it has a lot of progress already (i'm happy about that and proud), and I feel like i need to have some separate time from working on it ^^ I will still post some lore stuff, maybe do something for the game from time to time, but I just wanted to make it official so i wouldn't be guilty about doing "nothing" during this rest period. I was forbidding myself to work on other projects, being guilty for not doing the project that people are waiting for :D it doesn't mean that I'm going to forget about the game for ages, no way, but YEAHHH, I NEED to work on something else :_DDD before that, I'll write something about the game progress at this point: the plot plan is fully finished. not mentioning some big additional content (some sort of "True Ending", I'm still doubting if I should add it in the game or just post it as a free small DLC some time after the main release, probably the second option), the dialogue-lines-part is almost finished. from the three main branches of the plot/endings: the first: finished, will need some checking and fixes when the others are finished too the second: almost finished, will need some fixes as well the third: ready for 40% or around that the pre-branches part: finished, but needs some polishing after that, I'll take some time working with audio, then ui stuff; then me and my friend will check through the game and fix and change etc etc. I'm proud of the progress I made, even if I wasn't able to work for some months due to some heavy reality stuff. thank you everyone for your support, for donation (it helped me so much THANK YOU THE PERSONS I DON'T KNOW YOUR NAME!!!!! BUT THANKYOU,), I'm so happy to read any comment/rating you make, I love you all and I can't wait for releasing the game!!! be happy, be joyful, be amazing! you can always text me if you have any questions <3

I FINISHED THE PARROT UU VIDEO CHEERING CLAPPING I LOVE STRIFE AND TENSION AND WHEN IT'S NOBODY'S FAULT AND EVERYBODY'S FAULY (said while opening window to jump /j)
anyways some thoughts expanded upon notes I took while watching the video below:
SPOILERS BELOW CLICK KEEP READING TO SEE NOTES THERE ARE SPOILERS FOR THE VIDEO
wifies burnt the compass and wanted to go settle down with parrot somewhere else safe, but I agree with parrot that nowhere is safe. and also I agree that wifies actually did stray from his own values, because he was the one who told parrot to live and not just survive hiding somewhere and clearly parrot now takes that to heart while wifies wants to run from their problems. He said it was different this time because they'd be running into death and not just into a problem but functionally there's no difference. running back to confront clown was also running a risk to die.
I also feel like this whole video had a thread of parrot never breaking promises (it kept getting brought up that he was doing all this because of a promise, and that he wouldn't leave dean because he promised to protect him) and it was fascinating to watch wifies Not Get that. fascinating because wifies is only here because of a promise that parrot made, because of parrot never breaking promises, and yet he still doesn't understand why parrot is so insistent on carrying out what he said to luigi. it doesn't matter if luigi is dead, just like it didn't matter that wifies was chunkbanned and didn't hear him. parrot will follow through even if it kills him to try.
and I know that's what wifies doesn't want. it's very sensible of him to not want parrot to do that. but at this point he should know parrot has a stress grip on his promises and burning the compass and basically telling him to break that promise is equivalent to telling him to stop being everything he is. "the righteousness that you get from fighting isn't going to bring anyone back, it's going to get you killed, and where does that leave me and dean?" [3:04:18] everything wifies says is true. it's what he doesn't say that leads to him completely missing being able to reach parrot. If parrot doesn't fight he will lose himself, and that to him is probably a worse death than physically dying. that and because he believes, once again, that there is no safety, so he might as well try his damn hardest to make it safe.
odyssey are both trying to protect each other but they aren't able to understand each others' way of protection. maybe something in wifies snapped after he saw luigi die, right in front of him and parrot, and over and over he saw just how far the mafia reached. maybe he's now changed his mind and decided it's better to survive without living than to live without surviving. just seemed like he got a lot more possessive and protective this episode. how fun. I hope he reunites with parrot eventually. He realized that he completely fucking missed the moment Parrot threw that telescope and ran off. that telescope was a promise to trust each other and what wifies just did was break that promise. o7 uu!wifies I know you wanted the best for parrot but I have to agree with your post-yelling clarity messages: you weren't being fair. you were asking parrot to go against everything he is and trying to force him to, suddenly, after not saying anything for 9 million blocks, after someone else was JUST revealed to have betrayed his trust. it's not that what wifies said was wrong it was just never going to get across to parrot because parrot has a bleeding heart and this was the one thing he was hanging onto
#bluejackals speaks#unstable universe#parrotx2#wifies#unstable smp#enjoy the longass ramble LOL there might be more later

My fears and things I do NOT want to see in BJ3:
These are some elements and ideas I do not want to see in BJ3. Some ideas in here I simply want to disappear entirely from the ether of possibility đ
.
Here's the link to my previous post, about the things I DO want to get in BJ3.
Let's see here:
I'll start with Charles Deetz. I do NOT want to be subjected to the gurgling, sputtering noises he makes when he talks with no head again đ
, plus his character's story is super over now. So... Let's keep him off my screen. He took the Soul Train. Bye... Delia could have told him it was okay to leave before her; we only need to see Delia in BJ3.
Astrid still hating Lydia. They can still have friction, but Astrid being all moody teenager again maybe would get tiresome. (It'd be cool if there's a time skip and Astrid is a little older now. I've mentioned before how I think starting BJ3 with a time skip would be beneficial to set up endgame Beetlebabes.)
One of the biggest things I do NOT want at ALL is Lydia getting rid of Betelgeuse forever... Or getting him out of her life or something like that. She can start the movie seeking to do just that (and I think that'd be a very realistic way to start the film, with Lydia trying to find a way to get him out of her life for good), but then her character can and should evolve to want the contrary through the film.
Lydia marrying some random new character at the end. Literally nightmare material right there. And "ew" factor that'd make me hate the movie lol. She could start the film with some random new character as a love interest, but... that guy better be gone by the end. Actually, it'd be interesting if she did have a rando love interest at some point and rejected him, realizing she doesn't want him, because he is everything Betelgeuse is not. ;)
Betelgeuse sacrificing himself for Lydia, ending up permanently gone or dead-dead, resulting in Lydia marrying some random new character at the end and that being a "happy ending". (Nooo get away from here with that energy đ).
Lydia's happy ending being getting rid of Betelgeuse and marrying a rando new character. Triple ew. Can you tell I really hate any version of this idea?
Astrid hating Betelgeuse. lol She can start the film hating him, and then evolve to love and accept him as her stepfather and her mom's new love.
While we're at it, Betelgeuse hating Astrid. He could start the film frustrated with her or whatever, but he better adore his new stepdaughter by the end. Or else. đ¤ Tbh I think he already loves her just because she's Lydia's child, but she did point out the contract being null and void. Will he have some resentment or sadness? We'll have to see. I think Beej is easy going though; he may not give a shit and still adore her anyway lol.
Betelgeuse returning with Delores or having another random new love interest. EW no no no no. Please take that energy away from me and hide this evil thought bubble from Tim Burton's head. *Burns a bundle of white sage to purify the air around this one*.
Betelgeuse giving up on Lydia and letting her go so she can go "be happy" with some random new love interest... NO no no no... Please nope.
Lydia being endgame with Richard in the afterlife. This would be so random, considering Lydia said their relationship was over way before his accident, so I don't know why this one even crossed my mind, but it did because maybe I'm a little paranoid with my ships, I guess. lol
And finally, my BIGGEST FEAR right here: Betelgeuse being revealed as a true trickster demon that never cared about Lydia at all đ¨. Like, Betelgeuse having just played Lydia to get his way in the end. I would probably ignore Tim Burton exists if they go that route, which lucky for us all will NEVER ever happen. Tim clearly loves Beetlejuice and Lydia, not just as individual characters, but also as a couple (just listen to him talking about them in this clip, about choosing the McArthur Park song; you can feel his fondness for these characters in his voice), and so does Michael and Winona; they would never allow a script with that outcome.
Oh! Added after I thought I was finished with this post... This nightmarish idea đ¨đ¨: Betelgeuse having had a son in the past and his descendant(s) being a part of the plot. AAHH! Get that hellish thought away from meeee. Why was I haunted by this one out of nowhere?! Get that horrible thought away from me (sorry to anyone who thinks this one is cool. This is the stuff of NIGHTMARES to me đ. Like, franchise-ruining stuff right here, tbh).
So this is it! You can read my previous post here. Hopefully these are just irrational fears. lol Some of these I can forgive (like Charles being in the movie, and maybe even Lydia having a different love interest for part of the movie, as long as it's not the endgame). But there are some of these that would honestly ruin the movie for me (like Betelgeuse having a son in the past, or Betelgeuse being truly evil and having never truly cared about Lydia, or Lydia's happy ending being getting rid of Betelgeuse forever. Those three are just my worst fears, tbh. Also wouldn't forgive Betelgeuse ending up with Delores, but that one is a pretty ridiculous idea, tbh).
*Grabs that bundle of white sage again for good measure. May none of these happen.*

This is hilarious, because most of the leftists on this site hate me and would be outraged that @takashi0 labelled me one.
But you're the real charmer here. OP took a screen shot of my vent post, probably because I turned reblogs off, but you had to tag me in.
This was a vent post that I made because I was stunned by the audacity of the post I was referencing to imply that white men being hated by the left for their "immutable traits" have some kind of unique experience and other people just don't understand.
And I'm not talking about being hated by society in general I am talking about being hated by the left for immutable traits.
Do any of you have any idea how much the left hates women? I've received fairly graphic hate and suicide baiting from the left. I can't tell you the number of women I've talked to who've gotten that and worse. And all of us are women who have had contact with the left because we share some beliefs and values.
I'm also Jewish. Do you really want to talk about how the left feels about Jews? I'm also a lesbian and I've been made to feel unwelcome as a result so many times. I was hated for being a lesbian in a queer, leftist fandom space. I don't know a day without being hated for immutable traits. So excuse me if I struggle to feel sympathy for a white man complaining about it. That's what I meant by world's smallest violin.
The reason I made my own post to vent my frustration with that specific idea and didn't confront the poster is I do believe there was value in his overall point. I was actually incredibly disappointed to find this part in the post, because I think "people who feel alienated sometimes find community on the right" is a pattern worth talking about and trying to address. But this last week men have just been completely unable to read the room.
Within days of the second election in eight years that showed women just how much our country hates us, men were posting about how we need to reach out to men, to men support or have supported right wing ideas, and be nicer to them or else they'll do worse. I guarantee you there are a lot of women who share this goal and are even willing to help (although it's my belief that it's largely men who need to be doing this work, because the men they're trying to reach don't listen to women and women don't need to put themselves in danger) but we couldn't even have a few days to grieve. Women are expected to be 24/7 empathy machines, even at our lowest point.
And you know what the real kicker is? I never said I hated this man. Nothing in this post suggests I hate men. A woman venting about struggling to feel sympathy for a white man who feels hated for things he can't control is what you consider hateful.
You don't know me, and you have no idea how much time and energy I've spent practicing empathy, engaging with people in good faith even when they expressed views I didn't agree with, trying to inform people I felt were well-intentioned but simply misinformed... and Donald Trump won anyway. So why should I care if complaining about men will supposedly make him win? I've mostly gotten the nihilism out of my system at this point, but come on.
I turned off reblogs on my post for a reason, I would like this to be the last time I address this publicly.
Lefists: "How could we have possibly lost to Trump?!" Leftists, every single waking second since 2015:

doozi's undertale fic recs round THREE
As requested, here are EVEN MORE FIC RECS. This round is mostly reader inserts, with a dash of platonic and non-reader fics at the end.
As usual, this is really really long, so take your time and enjoy! Some of them are uhhhh, pretty spicy, so please make sure to check the warnings and tags and act accordingly.
Please tread carefully while reading, check tags, take breaks, drink water and HAVE FUN <3
The STATUS of each fic is labelled as such: Finished, Ongoing/Unfinished, Discontinued. (Unless the author specified that the fic is Discontinued, on Indefinite Hiatus, or otherwise abandoned the work, I will mark it as Ongoing/Unfinished. Oneshots are also marked as such.)
Spicy (Explicit) and/or Dark fics have also been labelled if relevant. (I wonât mark ones with just suggestive themes/moments, since I cant guarantee Iâll catch all of them. Similarly, unless there is consistent graphic death, gore, or otherwise prevalent upsetting topics, I [probably] wonât mark it as dark.)
MULTICHAPTERS
Ghost Hunting With Skeletons - Various/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
ONE OF THE FICS OF ALL TIME!!!
Go "ghost hunting" with Cash while looking for machine parts! Become Sans' weird coworker! Lie and keep secrets with Red! Get tangled up with a mysterious shadowy figure who spontaneously spawns in your house- wait, what was that last one?
Tilikum - Various Sanses/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
I'm sure everyone and their dog knows of this fic by now but listen. If you haven't read this, somehow, please do yourself a favour and read this immediately.
I love mer fics and I especially love CEPHALOPOD SIRENS. (Blue and Red are very good in this fic but SKULL!!!! MY PRECIOUS BOY!!)
The Mirror Bay Depths - Various Sanses/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
And speaking of MER FIC- if you like merskeletons, mysteries, manipulation and mmmmmmmmmm...magical workarounds for linguistic difficulties (i made the alliteration work, see?) Then you'll LOVE this fic!
Dive into The Mirror Bay Depths and get charmed by a buncha mers! It's super cute and also has a serious undertone of "UH OH" once the mystery begins to come to light.
Got Crabs? - Underfell!Sans/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Got crabs????? Hilarious soulmate AU where you and have some of the stupidest words written on each other's bodies and it all goes GREAT.
You do in fact, got crabs.
It's Just A Game - Sans/Reader - Finished
CYOAs my beloved. This was recced to me recently and I got caught up with all the new updates and it's sooooo good auugugjhfkgh,, I love existential crises and weird metafiction.
cat ~/.zsh_history - Sans/Reader - Finished
If you enjoyed It's Just A Game, or other fics like it, you'll probably like this too!!!! Player-character reality simulation existential angst all wrapped up into a neat little fic <3333 It feels like a weight on my heart.
The Understudy - Sans/Reader - Finished
THE anti-harem fic. As in, THE anti-harem fic that inspired the structure of every other anti-harem fic. It's a piece of fantastic storytelling and is a literal pioneer of a genre.
It was a fic that was intended to flip a genre on it's head, and it's fascinating to me that it became a genre of its own. Splendidly written and is the cause of 99% of my confusion during my return to the fandom because all of a sudden there were a buncha anti-harems and I was like WTF ARE THESE jkdhfgkjdfk,,
I went into it intending to find out the history behind anti-harems, and then got sucked in completely. You can guess the general premise, but MAN does plot hit hard!!!!!!
And speaking of anti-harems...
The Eye of a Judge - Various, Swapfell!Papyrus/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
[Warning: Contains Dark/Heavy Themes]
What if anti-harem fic, except the terrible GF was EVEN MORE terrible. Really really fun concept with what happens to the reader, and oh so fucked up just in general. Make sure to check the tags on this one.
The Faults in Our Souls - W.D. Gaster/Reader - Finished
This fic is super sweet, the reader falls into the Underground and gets taken in by Gaster and his two boys, eventually falling in love and becoming a parental figure for the skelebros. But then the incident with the core happens...
Pros & Cons - Sans/Reader - Finished/Series
[Warning: Contains Explicit Content.]
I try not to put too much NSFW in the lists on this blog but uhhhh *looks at the rest of the list* it's fine. I like these fics too much not to add them.
This one in particular is AMAZING and really funny to boot. The reader wakes up after a one night stand with very few memories of the night before and debates the pros and cons of checking who they slept with thsjfbbfkfbk
The fic right after is ALSO hilarious because it gives so much more context and life to the world I love it dearly. Also the smut is great but yknow gbflgbkf I'm TRYING to keep this relatively SFW
Eau de rĂŠsistance - Underfell!Sans/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
[Warning: Contains Dark/Heavy Themes]
Underfell flavoured slave AU which gets really, really complicated emotions-wise. It's one of the few UT fics I still keep up with pretty actively atm, and it's because the mystery has me hooked. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.
Other than the obvious premise, it gets into some darker topics, so if you're sensitive to that sorta stuff, please read the tags and tread carefully if you decide to read! Otherwise, enjoy!
The Party Incident and Other Embarrassing Anecdotes - Sans/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
[Warning: Contains Explicit Content.]
Takes a deep breath. Ok so, I debated adding this fic. Not because I don't like it, but because I haven't actual read this in years, so I don't know how it stands up to the test of time.
I don't usually like adding fics that I can't certifiably recommend, but I also feel like if you haven't read this, you haven't Really experienced Undertale reader inserts. It's like. a classic.
I still remember vividly cringing from secondhand embarrassment SO many times while reading BUT I wouldn't trade in that experience for anything- I fucking loved this fic. It was wonderful and terrible and so incredibly fun, and honestly I kinda don't want to reread it so I can keep it in the shiny veneer of nostalgia forever.
Smells Like Chalk and a Cockatoo - Sans/Reader - Finished
[Warning: Contains Explicit Content.]
Uhhhh, I don't actually have a good segue for this, but this one also has really complicated relationships. There is a happy ending! It's a fucking rollercoaster to get there though.
It's kinda in the same vein as The Party Incident for me, I consider it a classic, and it's also... very 2016/17. Take that how you will. I don't know if I'd recommend this fic, but I definitely think you should read it, if you know what I mean. I'm VERY fond of it despite my extremely conflicted emotions. It's definitely not for everyone though.
Oh, also it has the most fucked up form of skeleton reproduction ever <3 That's okay though, because it results in one of my favourite fankids ever. I'm love my boyyy Impact ;w;!!!!
Bonetrast - Papyrus/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
The reader in this is terrible and I'm fascinated. I like reading about characters being antagonistic towards each other sometimes, so I really enjoyed this and I wanna see where the author takes this. Make sure to read the tags.
A Drink That Hits Right In the Bones - Various/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
This one... the reader in this kinda sucks too jhsfjkdf but in a different way. Once again fascinating as hell!!! Drunk, gay, in denial and homophobic, this reader is NOT having a great time.
I, however, reading it, am having a fantastic time!
breakfast combo - Sans/Reader - Finished
Veryyyyyy cute! The reader gets bothered about their crush on Sans by UF!Sans. Love the banter. Oneshot turned twoshot, it's a nice little read :D
Penned to you - Horrortale!Sans/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Penpals!!! I'm loving this so far <3 Horrortale Pap and the reader become penpals and subsequently friends. Sans is... around, probably not being spooky and weird. I'm excited to see where this one goes >:00
Grounding Your Ego - Underfell!Papyrus/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Soulmate AU again!!! The reader has a set of REALLY terrible words written around their neck, and... they're mute. :]
ALSO the little snippets of world building are so delicious and have stuck in my mind like the- wait fuck I just realised the title is a pun what the fuck how'd I miss that before- LIKE THE GROUNDS IN PAPYRUS' COFFEE.
The Sacrificial Skeleton and the Labyrinth of Gods - Various/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
[Warning: Contains Explicit Content.]
:] *points vigourously at the warning* The smut is a pretty ingrained part once it gets to it, but I couldn't NOT add this fic.
Anyway I'm a little obsessed with this fic. There's a skeleton reader, who's a necromancer! The skeletons are thought to be gods, but actually they got isekai'd! It's a WILD RIDE and it's surprisingly good??? It feels like one of those webtoons or manga that you look at the cover/summary for and go *??????* at, but then you start reading it and go "OH, THIS IS REALLY FUN ACTUALLY."
There's pretty intense language barriers between the skeletons and the reader for a lot of the fic, but I love that sorta stuff, so that just makes it better for me lol. I adore the dynamics between the characters, they feel so diametrically opposed sometimes it's great.
Nothing to see here. - Various/Reader, Various Sanscest - Ongoing/Unfinished
Oh this one!!! Should probably actually go under misc but it's okay. This fic asks the question of: What if there was a MASSIVE multiversal mashup and some of the residents shared an apartment building where they now live completely normal domestic lives?
It's got /Reader stuff as well as a fun selection of Sanscest and platonic roommate content, and each chapter is semi-self contained and really fun.
Magic Bitty Bits⢠- Various/Reader, Various Sanscest - Ongoing/Unfinished
Another one that should technically be under misc. I love bitty fics... and I love really fucked up shit happening to characters <3 Take are to note the warnings at the beginning of chapters, but hhrhghh I'm on the edge of my seat every time something happens/is revealed. LIKE WHAT!! WHAT!!!!!!! AHH-
The Monster Who Will Always Wait - Nightmare!Sans - Finished
Small kraken mer becomes BIG KRAKEN MER!!!!!! Leviathan sized drama, with some sweet romance. I followed this one from the day it was posted to the day it finished and I loved every second.
Dire Wolf - Horror!Swapfell!Skelebros/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
You get two new coworkers, who have some unusual habits surrounding food, leading you to make them lunch!! As you grow closer, their histories and rivalries come to light. It's hella good and I love the character dynamics.
Uncomfortably Similar Situations - Horrortale!Sans/Reader - Finished
Horrortale!Sans brings you home like one would a starving stray cat. There are ups and downs but everything turns out alright :]!!
The Sound of the Sea - Underfell!Sans/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
More mer content!!! But Underfell Sans this time ! There are only 3 chapters so far and it has me wanting more!! I love this so much...
Sweet Deceptions - Swapfell!Papyrus/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Fake dating!!!!! What more can I say ;D Well, I can say a lot more, like how fantastic this fic is with the escalation of the fake relationship, but I'll leave yall to find that out for yourselves :]
Dream Catcher, Nightmare Snatcher - Nightmare!Sans - Ongoing/Unfinished
HRHHGH Nightmare gets stuck in a Venom-esque situation with you, and you both suffer the consequences. You're both menaces to each other in this, it's great.
Coffee and Chaos - Underfell!Skelebros/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Reader ends up inheriting their mom's tenants, a pair of skeleton brothers. It's a nice slice of life!! Also, he/they reader ftw \o/!!
Canids love bones - Bad Sanses/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
In this, the reader is a monster with a really fluffy tail and a tragic past. They just keep getting bothered by these skeleton dudes and eventually end up joining them. Fun read! I like monster readers.
Train Station Blues - Mafiafell!Sans/Reader - Discontinued
Sadly discontinued :( Still a really solid fic and an enjoyable read!!! I adore the 1920s as a setting...
What is This, A Hallmark Movie? - Underswap!Papyrus/Reader - Finished
Christmas fic!! The reader does not like Christmas, and Stretch tries his best to get them to enjoy it regardless. It doesn't work out too well... but everything is alright in the end. I loved Stretch's determination jkfdhgkjdfg hes trying so hard...
Story of the perfect vessel - Various Sanses/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Really interesting premise!!! You're a parasite that took over this dying human's body and are now puppeteering it around. Then you meet a buncha skeletons, but you're still a parasite with no sense of what being human is like!! Love me some weird concepts.
America's Unluckiest (Luckiest) Almost-Astronomer - Various/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Yaayyyy! You get isekai'd into a hot mess of a universe, brimming with skeletons, skeletons and more skeletons! There's some weird stuff going on, but surely it'll be fine.
All is Fair in Love and Prank Wars - Sans/Reader - Finished
Hey! Another 2016 fic! The reader starts a prank war with Sans. Gets angsty but everything gets better in the end. I really enjoyed it :> Reader is named in this, but for some reason that didn't bother me like it usually does lol
Mr. Fear - Underfell!Papyrus/Reader - Finished
This is an interesting one. It's set in a mashup of various AUs (e.g. Swapfell Alphys and Underfell Papyrus) but not in like. a multiversal machine malfunction sorta deal. Anyway, it's got a fun plot and I really enjoyed it :]
Cheshire Kitten - Underswap!Skelebros/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
The reader is a shapeshifter who prefers to be a cat! (Mood) And they use that to deal with problems large and small. It's real sweet and makes me also want to be able to turn into a shapeshifting cat.
it's just me and an overly enthusiastic skeleton; trying to solve a murder. - Underswap!Sans/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
Ah, I love ridiculously long titles. Saves me time. The title also acts as a summary, and it's really fun!! Monster murders must be horrible to make a case for, since you can't inspect the body for evidence...
Ship of bones - Various/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
PIRATES!!!!! I love the action and drama in this one, it's so fun! Also features a lot of scary skeletons. I loved reading about the reader giving them the slip >:3c!!
A Sea of Hope - Various/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
MORE pirates!! This one features a skeleton reader <33 I love the backstory and lore... also the reader is so teeny compared to Axe :DDD
You Know Where To Find Me - Papyrus/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
I am so invested in this premise (Papyrus is the mascot of monsterkind and you are his assistant) and both of you are tired after having a string of terrible employers/employees kjhkjdfg,, I'm so excited to see where this goes, it's been fun so far.
=========================
ONESHOTS
Seeing Double - Swapfell!Papyrus/Reader - Oneshot
Twin shenanigans. TWIN SHENANIGANS AT COFFEE SHOPS! I can't say more without spoiling things so just go read it!!! Reader(s) are named but moreso for Twin purposes.
Somethin' Special - Underswap!Papyrus/Reader - Oneshot
More coffee shop AU! Very cute. SO cute. They're both awkward and silly and its SO sweet.
Daguerreologue - Sans/Reader, Papyrus/Reader - Oneshot/Series
Actually a oneshot that's part of a series, but I just liked this one the most (you should also go read the rest of the series, it's really good too!!!)
Feels like a little snapshot of a soft, warm life, worn by time. It's just a really nice fic! Good for feelin fuzzy inside.
Looking for Something - Sans/Reader - Oneshot
The reader loves to people watch, and draw the people they see. Some of which, are monsters ;)! Superrrrrrrrrr cute. Suuuuuuuuuper super cute.
FIGHT ME!! - Sans/Reader - Oneshot
Not to be mistaken for Fight Me! by MsMK or Fight Me! by Little_old_lady (both of which are very good!!!!!!!) This fic DOES however use the same basic premise/prompt except with Sans as the nurse and it's SIMILARLY fantastic. I love nurse Sans in this.
If yall know of more UT fics with this title/concept please tell me so I can make this stupid joke a third time.
Dates are dumb - Sans/Reader - Oneshot
Sans has a really bad blind date, but his server comes to the rescue!! Really cute!
This was supposed to be smut, idk what happened. - Swapfell!Papyrus/Reader - Oneshot
As the title says, notably not smut. Sexy and very charged? Absolutely.
It's a soulmate AU where the reader is a mob boss making a trade of sorts with their rival, Sans. He shows off the goods before the trade is accepted.
Light of My Life - Papyrus/Reader - Oneshot
Very sweet!! The reader has magic that allows them to hear magic, and they let Papyrus listen in.
and i will love you on purpose - Horrortale!Sans/Reader - Oneshot
As you've probably noticed, 99% of the oneshots I rec here are super cute, and this is no exception djkfgkjgfh 5+1 of kissing Horror, it's bitesized and adorable.
Stargazing - Sans/Reader - Oneshot
A little slice of happiness set before the barrier went up. Sans and the reader are kids and it's very very sweet.
It's Raining Right Here (They/Them Edition) - Papyrus/Reader - Oneshot
Veryyyy cute snapshot of romance with Papyrus <3!!!!
General Misconception - Megalosomnia!Papyrus/Reader - Oneshot
I love the Megalosomnia AU and I also love Papyrus. This has both :] I won't spoil things, but General just wants to be helpful :))
And speaking of Megalosomnia...
Delirious - Megalosomnia - Dr. Baggs/Reader - Oneshot
[Warning: Contains Explicit Content.]
>:3c I usually try avoid too much explicit content for these lists but listennnnnnnn I love good and fun characterisation MORE than any conviction I have to that, plus I've broken that rule already.
Anyway senseless justification aside, I freakin loveeeee how much characterisation gets packed in here, it's delicious!! You get to know so much about the dynamics and workings of the relationships in this universe it's great.
Relearning - Ink!Sans/Reader - Oneshot
The reader breaks her arm and has to relearn how to draw. Cue Ink! It's really sweet!!
Turn The Page - Swapfell!Skelebros/Reader - Oneshot

Meet Cute Oneshots - Various - Oneshot/Series
Cheating again by linking a series. As the title implies, it's a bunch of meet cutes!! My favorites (as of writing) are the second, fourth and fifth in the series ^^!!
the thing about axe - Horrortale!Sans/Reader - Oneshot
You go for a nice walk in the woods with Axe :) I love how it this one plays with emotions and atmosphere for the audience, because the reader (character) is mostly oblivious to Axe's history.

MISC. / OTHER
Full Deck - ? - Ongoing/Unfinished
Hysterical flip of every reader insert ever written. Can be simply summed up as "skeletons desperately dodging various reader's advances", but that is nowhere near close to describing this fic. It's really funny, and if you haven't read it, you should.
Not quite a /reader, so it goes here lolol. The reader is more something that happens to the skeletons.
No fin new about it - Bad Sanses||Nightmare's Gang&Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
SUBNAUTICA AU!! With timeline fuckery! I just like big mer skeletons. And Subnautica. It's a real fun time.
Bits Of Spaghetti - Various&Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
This fic treats bitties in a really interesting way!! Veryyy cool origins, and very interesting dynamics between characters. Reader is an old man, and he just kinda wants to make puppets and dolls and have a nice quiet life. Unfortunately, skeletons.
Don't give up, Y/n! - Various&Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished
[Warning: Contains Dark/Heavy Themes]
I do not have any kids but this fic makes me feel like a worried parent. It also makes me feel like I need to smoke an entire pack of cigarettes. It's great, really. Just makes me so stressed. They're just a kid... definitely heed the tags for this one.
Down The Mountain, Under The Door - Underswap!Papyrus&Reader - Oneshot
Monsters are giant sized !! Or humans are tiny. Either way, Underswap Papyrus comforts the reader after accidentally spooking them pretty badly. I love myself some good ol' unintentional fearplay and intentional comfort.
The Bucket List - Various&Reader - Finished
[Warning: Contains Dark/Heavy Themes]
Hoo boy. The reader creates a bucket list, intending to die at the end. It's story about depression and recovery and it's really really good.
Heart on the Table - Ongoing/Unfinished
MADE ME CRYYY,,, Sans and Pap end up taking care of Frisk and honestly just go read it it's very sweet and sad and good. Frisk is just a kid!!!!!! AHHH
Broken Bones (and Sticks and Stones) - Finished
CRIES!!!!!! You know Handplates AU. I know Handplates AU. Featuring: extremely complex familial feelings!!!! Papyrus has a kid, and she is the SWEETEST. Another of my favorite fankids!! FLORAAAAAA <33
This of course, with Gaster being Gaster in this AU, makes everything even more complicated. It's really good and made me cry. Please read it. Papyrus is the best mom.
Jamais Vu - Oneshot
HGH... this one is like a punch to the gut but in a really good way. Both because of the absolutely incredible writing and also because it was the first Undertale fic that this author has posted since 2017, and gave me a scare when I opened my email.
Letters to a Friend - Oneshot
Another by the same author, but from 2016. My HEART?????? The King Papyrus ending always hurts me so... hhhrhhhhghjkdf,,
OH, I WAS BEING SARCASTIC - Finished
[Warning: Contains Dark/Heavy Themes]
It's more Papyrus Angst! This is just going to happen every time I do one of these, probably.
He would never take a vacation for any reason...
Sonata - Finished
[Warning: Contains Dark/Heavy Themes]
More Papyrus Angst. Sometimes a melody can say more than words.
Broken Trust (Re-upload) - Finished
What's this!! Even more angst?! You bet! It's Swap flavoured this time though.
Sans is not actually a monster, and Papyrus is horrified when he finds out. Very very good and sad, with a happy ending. Paps is not great in this, but he comes around :( I really really love the concept of this fic, and I think it was executed really well.
I'm Feeling Fine, Kid - Finished
[Warning: Contains Dark/Heavy Themes]
Soooooooooooo fucked up but it's also like. one of the formative fics of my existence. I could've sworn this was in one of my other lists, but apparently not. Fucked me up big time back when I first read it sdjkhjhf, read this if you wanna hurt and then get tentatively put back together.
If you've read Flowey Is Not A Good Life Coach and you liked that, you might like this too. Lots of Papyrus Angst, but this one has even more Sans Angst!
Stones and a Glass House - Oneshot
[Warning: Contains Discussions of Explicit Content.]
Want a break from the sudden deluge of angst??? Try this, it's kinda a crackfic, and very funny.
Love when brothers get to tease each other mercilessly. They talk pretty candidly about explicit content, so heed the warning LMAO. Very very funny though.
=========================
SANSCEST/PAPCEST
AH SURPRISE! I didn't want to make a whole new list since I have way less of these on hand, but I also really wanted to recommend them lol. If this ain't your thing, then this list ends here -u-)b
fox in the coop - Sanscest (Dust/Horror/Crop) - Ongoing/Unfinished
Ouuuhhhhh I am so unwell over this fic. It hurts so good. Hidden identity bullshit to the max!! I don't even know where to begin with this one, but it's fantastic, go read the summary at least. Dust is so normal about everything. Totally.
Also, Dust gets chickens!!
Colors - Papcest (Spicyhoney || Underfell!Papyrus/Underswap!Papyrus) - Ongoing/Unfinished
Ahhhhh language barriers my beloved. Falling in love despite language barriers my beloved!!!
It's got some real good drama and lovely lovely writing. I love it a whole lot :]]
VILLAIN HOTLINE - Sanscest (Bad Sans Poly) - Ongoing/Unfinished
Bad Sans Chatfic. Wait wait wait hear me out!!! COME BACK. THERES AN ACTUAL STORY.
The chatfic parts are pretty fun, and the developing horror plot even more so! Universes and people are glitching, which spells a bad time for everyone!!!
You Have One (1) Unread Message - Sanscest (Bad Sans Poly) - Ongoing/Unfinished
Similar to the one above, this fic has a similar concept (crack chatfic that devolves into plot and horror)
Genuinely quite terrifying, even when viewed through Killer's strange apathetic POV (which is ALSO fascinating in it's own right).
Little (NOT LITTLE) Red Riding Hood - Papcest (Spicyhoney) - Finished
Really fun twist on Little Red Riding Hood!! Red also gets to wear a frilly nightcap and nightgown in this, which is a fun image.
So You Didn't Want to Marry a Mage - Papcest (Spicyhoney + BG. Mapleblossom) - Ongoing/Unfinished
Ahhh I love fics where a character gets to learn magic from another character... this one is hella cute!!! I love a lot of this author's works but this one in particular is one of my favourites :>
=========================
Did you have fun scrolling forever? I had fun putting this together.
There are a total of 90 fics here! I wanted to do 99 since it's the 999999999th anniversary of Undertale this year, but I'm tired so 90 will do. That's already so many. 90 in fact. Also my phone started to lag while scrolling so perhaps it's for the best.
If yall have any recs for ME, please drop them by my askbox, I (obviously) love reading jkshdgjkfh,,, I'm generally up for rereading stuff, so dw if you reckon I've read something before :]!!
Also, if you haven't already, you should check out my FIC REC MASTERLIST for previous (and future) fic rec lists (from me, specifically).
#velwy.txt#fic recs#doozis fic recs#undertale fic recs#the sheer amount of times ive almost posted this while drafting it is so scary agfjfbdj#at some point i should just learn how to make a program that does the formatting for me#i. can probably do that actually#ill try it for the next one :]#i love spreadsheets im sure theres a way to do it with spreadsheets#or like an actual Program Program but its been a while since i did any proper coding so spreadsheets are easier fhgjgbkr#also idk why all the papcest ones ended up being spicyhoney shfjfhdkd I LIKE. We ARE going to bring up Captain Amelia. You have good taste! GOOD TASTE I SAY! *aka I just rewatched Treasure Planet and got hit with, "Oh yeahhhhh... that explains a lot!"*
honestly, the Meg/Jasmine/Amelia trifecta tells you 90% about me as a person. (the rest is covered by Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Uranus and, uhhh, I'll stop baring my soul to the world now)
and speaking of Amelia, this is tangential, but like -- there's one Twst comic I have been kicking at for a while where I needed an RSA sports/flight teacher and, uh, well
someday I will wrangle this stupid comic into coherency and she'll get to make an appearance (in the background of a single panel, half-obscured by a tall hat) (but I will know she's there and that's the important thing)
#art#twisted wonderland#twst oc#my plan worked i've tricked you all into looking at my anime catgirl oc#she exists to yell at some rsa boys so she doesn't really have like. a character or story or anything. sorry!#(her name is alexandria north and that is what she considers a sporty outfit. that's as far as i got)#this is the one that is mainly about silver and neige having a mutual bluebird friend and i am having terrible trouble making it not suck#which given some of the stuff i post should tell you something about how it's going so far#(it's just kind of an incoherent mess of ideas at this point. nothing specific just ~the creative process~)#maybe the rest of episode 7 will give my brain the kickstart it needs. depends on how that goes i guess#god. the next episode 7 bit drops in (probably) just a few days.#I'M NOT READY#i have simultaneously never been ready and always been ready#i exist in a perpetual state of impatience

Thank you for getting back to me about it! You make some really good points I probably should have phrased differently in the original post.
I guess I was trying to characterise the figures in Jasonâs life as he perceived them at the time he chose to become Redhood. I based it mostly (rightly or wrongly) on RHATO: 1&2 and how they describe Catherine and Willis.
I think prior to receiving the letters his father wrote him from prison (where he begins to develop more empathy for Willisâ struggles), Jason did âhateâ his dad for all that had happened because he didnât know otherwise, until that point he saw the situation through the eyes of a child who didnât know better.
When Jason initially made the decision to become Redhood (in RHATO anyway) he did it with his criticism of his fatherâs actions and the belief that he should have stopped to care âbetterâ for him and his mother.
As for Catherine, I understand there have been quite a few different versions of her character/her and Jasonâs relationship over the years, and I guess it depends on which one you choose to take âcanonâ for everyone.
In this case I believe when Jason as a child, the main factor in his relationship with Catherine was the drugs, him potentially not even fully comprehending any other elements that were involved. That was when he had to care for her most, supplied for her when he could.
I think Jason was smart enough and had enough empathy to know that his mother was a victim too, he didnât blame her for her own actions and clearly loved her deeply. But in spite of this he still wishes that she had never done drugs in the first place; he doesnât blame her for not choosing him, but he still bares the scars as a result.
I believe this is the attitude he takes forward when taking on the role of Redhood - he wanted to spare the vulnerable, like his mother, from being so victimised by dealers etc. to prevent anyone else from starting, like he wished his mother hadnât.
This wasnât intended to be a clap back or anything (do people even still say that??), like I said I think you made really good points and I do think what I said about Catherine and Willis needed clarification (and I donât disagree). Iâm not saying that these panels/RHATO is the most âbiblically correctâ version of Jasonâs history/character (spoiler: its definitely not) - but I hope it helped you see where I was coming from with my interpretation! x
Just some thoughts I've been having about Jason and his ethics/motivations recently, because I'm back on that Jason Todd grind.
Jason's view on killing is one of 'calculated sacrifice', he believes that Bruce's methods are more than capable of stopping crime as it happens, but Jason wants to prevent it.
If killing five criminals means that Jason can spare a hundred lives and scare all of the others out of hurting innocents, that is a worthy sacrifice. He doesn't kill aimlessly or for pleasure, it is a measured act against the few to save the masses. Jason is judge, jury and executioner, Bruce's morals prevent him from acting beyond the first two - this is where him and Jason disagree.
If crime is a wheel that keeps on spinning, Bruce believes that the wheel is inherently wrong and should be stopped. Jason knows that the wheel is never going to stop spinning, and that it is better to control it than waste time trying to stop it all together. Where Bruce sees Jason's forcefulness as an unnecessary evil, Jason understands that the Batman symbol is needed - the world relies on people who can draw their moral lines in the sand and stick to them - but it also needs people like him.
It's easy to see how Jason's views have manifested. He spent his entire life being a victim of those trying to stop rather than prevent.
Catherine Todd dealt with drug addiction which ultimately rendered her dead and unable to care for her son - she may have tried to stop her addiction, but never managed to prevent it in the first place.
Willis Todd chose his criminal lifestyle over raising his son no matter how much Jason wanted him to stop - he didn't do what it took to prevent his son being left alone to fend for himself.
Bruce saw Jason's rage and fury as Robin and chose to try and stop it through arguments and discipline - at the time, he couldn't understand Jason's anger and as a result could not prevent it.
Bruce knew how dangerous the Joker was and dedicated an entire lifetime to stopping him - had he taken action to prevent the Joker's crimes, Jason wouldn't have had to die.
Bruce watches as his son comes back to life, a broken, angry shell and tries to stop him - he could never bring himself to prevent what happened from happening again, no matter how much he wanted to.
This is why the Redhood kills. Jason understands that it is not enough to simply stop crime. Something has to be moving to stop - as soon as Batman steps in there are already victims. Jason has been a victim - it's not a fate he intends to suffer again, and he would fight tooth and nail to protect those too vulnerable to prevent their own suffering.
