When someone is turned into a vampire it has three stages to show that the transformation is taking effect. First, the skin of a person will turn clammy and ashy, this is the vitamins of the body being slowly killed over time. Secondly, seizures will be induced at irregular rates, ranging from seconds to hours. This is the sign of the body dying. Lastly, the person infected will turn to self-mutilation in order to cope with the debilitating pain of the body transforming.

In your case, your vampirism was a result of your mother being bitten in her last month of pregnancy. While she had died, you lived, transformed. The venom changing your dna forever. You could be kept at bay through normal human food, but it was blood that you primally craved. It made you strong, and it made you feel alive.

From what Alex was appearing, you could tell he was in stage two. He laid on the floor convulsing. Looking at his body, you noticed the bite marks on his collarbone.

“Shit. He is turning”

“Can’t you stop it?” Logan leaned down next to you, holding Alex as his seizure worsened.

“I have no idea” Your eyes met Logan. Blood was cascading down your mouth and chest. A reminder of the other night. “I have never tried”

“Do you have a better idea?” Logan prayed to who ever was listening for a better idea. He knew it was a necessary action in order to save Alex, but the idea of you drinking this assholes blood made him feel irrationally angry.

“I have too try, but… what if I can’t stop?” You were full of worry now. Soon you knew the sun would rise, people would flood the alley, and another blow to mutant-kind would be delt.

“y/n, if you don’t. Alex will die. You will stop. You have control. You don’t have a choice.” He knew he was being harsh, but the two of you couldn’t afford conversation. Alex’s life was on the line.

You nodded as Logan laid him flat on the asphalt. You moved to straddle his hips and stared at the bite marks. No doubt the venom was killing him, you lowered your mouth to the wound and sunk your fang in.

Alex’s blood tasted weird. You weren’t sure if it was the venom or just the taste of Alex. It was nothing like Logan’. He tasted perfect, like a virgin’s first orgasm. Slowly, you backed out of the room, before running to find your own. Logan trailing behind.

You threw the door open and rushed to the bathroom. Facing the mirror you stared in horror of who you were. Acceptance was the final form of grief, but you never knew exactly what you were grieving.

Turning on the facet, you aggressively started to scrub your face, hoping to erase the actions of the night. You felt a hand grab your wrist, stopping you from rubbing your face raw.

You met Logan’s eyes in the mirror. He looked at you the way he always had, only this time you could place the emotion. He yearned for you.

“Stop that darling. Let me give you a bath yeah?” You mindlessly nodded. He went through the actions of running you a bath, undressing you and easing you into the bath. You wordlessly accepted his help, staring at the faucet of your bathtub.

You felt as he washed your back. The water of the tub turning darker shades of red with every dip.

“I’m a monster”

“I created him. Alex is dying. I am covered in multiple people’s blood. Logan I-”

“Despite all of that I am here, aren’t I? After centuries I am still here” You turned to look up at him.

“Logan” you reached out to him. “You don’t love me. It’s been so long and…” Logan cut you off. Pressing his lips to your own. You leaned up, wrapping your arms around his neck. The kiss turned more passionate as you felt Logan lift you up out of the tub and brought you to the bed.

How did you come to draw and paint the way you do? What inspirations do you pull from? All of your art oozes with some strange, almost ethereal emotion I've not quite seen anywhere else, something similar to what I'd like to capture with my own works.

I’ve always had a bit of a hard time answering this bc like…I honestly think aesthetic/inspirational/taste stuff is a library you build up over your whole life, or maybe a closet that you try things on to see what does and doesn’t work for you. My biggest advice to this kinda stuff is to experiment a lot and take in a lot of media in a purposeful way, and try to actively apply things you like about said medias to your work. And don’t just consume stuff within your field, I take inspiration from a ton of stuff that isn’t art. I also recommend having somewhere to keep a kind of reserve of inspo, wether it be on tumblr or Pinterest or what have you.

So with that being said I’ll try to sum up what I can about myself.

I’m a horror lover, have been since I was (too) young. I’ve consumed a ton of horror movies, read a lot of books, and certainly have digested a lot of art about it. I am a bit of a haunted person haha, and I’ve always really attached myself to horror, and with some exception to just purely cute stuff I truly am always thinking about it with my work. I am not really aiming to make people feel comfortable with my stuff, in fact often the opposite, but many feel understood anyways which feels nice. I don’t think horror for horrors sake is always as fufilling to me, it always pulls from something internal that I’ve been wrestling with or are afraid of myself.

I am classically trained in fine art due to the kind of art program my highschool had (magnet program if that means anything to anyone), it was incredibly good and I always feel so lucky I got to go there. Bc of this I learned a lot of techniques in painting as well as the fundamental of art. I don’t think my art would be the way it is without this training, but I also think with how the internet is now you can probably do the same thing at your own pace, just have to be dedicating a decent amount of time and mental energy into it.

Bc of my highschool training I also learned about art history, which had a big impact on me, particularly renaissance, baroque, and rococo. Religious imagery as well had a huge impact on me, particularly catholic (probs cause we learned about it it the most). I would say doing master studies with these would be a huge help.

I would say it’s important to me that each “full” illustration tells a story of sorts, I can’t really help it, I’m a story teller at heart. I use a lot of symbolic imagery, I pull a lot from religious imagery but also within fruit, flowers, personal objects… I think “what am I trying to say with this work” and kind of go from there with what I choose. Make your own personal symbolism language.

There’s like this certainty digital painting aesthetic I really enjoy by niche furry artist lol, many of them really nsfw so I don’t feel comfortable linking to them. It’s like…highly detailed well rendered pieces that they make with literally one brush that is often without any kind of pen pressure, just layering things with opacity. It’s crazy and yeah idk they’re definitely up there in inspo for me.

I really really care about fashion. Lolita was my first love in terms of clothing, and I pull a ton of inspiration from it, but also a lot of other street styles and runways stuff. I like drama and frills.

I play with my art and stories in a way that I don’t know how to describe other than childlike. It’s important for me to do so in my process, but basically, I let my imagination run wild, I talk to my characters, I listen to music and think about them. A lot of my bigger pieces take a lot of time of me thinking about them ahead a time, I draw in my head a lot. Sketchbooks are a huge help in this.

I thiiiiiink that’s all I have to say for now…I could probably list a million things but this feels like a good core to start with. I hope it’s not too vague, but I’m always good to keep answering stuff like this if you wanna know about one part in depth.

So I've been following the 'devil's minion in show' speculations since the start and here's my take on it.

At first I was pissed the show seemed to have cut it and I stand by that.

The show did cut it.

They changed the dynamic by aging Daniel up and building the show on a 'recent' interview, putting the one chronologically closer to book canon in the past as a failed attempt.

And I still think nothing 'romantic' or whatever you want to call it in regards to the Daniel/Armand dynamic was intended.

They did the bottle episode with a different take on it and that was it.

The flashbacks were revealed to not have the context people expected, so I'm convinced the show did not plan for or hint at DM having happened in the past.

And Armand's 'fond' looks might as well be amused-condescending.

This also ties in with Eric referring to Armand as Daniel's 'nemesis'.

It started off with that cat and mouse play between them, which also makes for a great dynamic btw.

And Daniel being revealed to have been turned at the end is a classic horror story move and a nice extra. Especially when season 2 could have been the last.

So there's that.

Now we have a third season and an, albeit smallish, pretty dedicated fanbase.

DM content is all over social media and Rolin and the cast get asked frequently about it.

We also know Assad would be very open to that storyline, he read the books and dives deep into every aspect of Armand's personality.

Eric seems to also get on board, judging from recent interviews.

So I do think Rolin did not expect the fans to be that dedicated to an arguably pretty small part of a big book series and just planned on the bottle ep and Daniel's turning (which is left ambiguous enough for anything), but he might now actually reconsider.

So I do think there could be a switch in Daniel's and Armand's dynamic in the future.

Nobody probs expected people to thirst over 71 Eric Bogosian tbh and so they most likely thought an aged up Daniel would be 'safe' from shipping, well surprise, he's still hot and people have taste.

Just to be clear, I a) do not really believe in creatives changing their stories due to fan response and b) I do not support actors getting pestered about certain dynamics.

But in this special case DM already is part of book canon, so nothing that would have to be changed or added and it wouldn't take away from the next big plotline.

It can be squeezed in as a treat without affecting anything major.

And the fan support I've seen was mostly positive and respecting boundaries (nobody has yet told Assad to his face to 'fuck that old man already', and please let's keep it this way).

So it's mostly just enthusiastic DM shippers promoting the show in their own way.

Plus the actors have built great chemistry and are quite ship positive.

To conclude: I do have high hopes for DM to be part of a background story in season 3 and I would also be fine with a reversed chase/cat and mouse/resentment and fascination dynamic.

But I still don't think it was planned beforehand.

2nd/personal fave it's a close tie between nibbly and tinky for me but ill go nibbly. i really like tinkys true form/doll design but i wish the npmd costume incorporated more of that tealy blue contrasting eye/tongue color, it works so well. that wouldn't have translated super well on stage I guess? dunno slap some blue horns on him. or hey he already has goggles but theyre red?? make that shit blue.

first: wiggly. i like that wiggly is the eldest/leader and also has a design that most closely represents the 'classic' eldrich horror cthulu look! i think his design is just the most solid, there's really nothing id add or subtract from him. his palette of soft and dark greens look great and the yellow/red eyes are the perfect extra pop of color. not my personal fave but once again I think his design is objectively the most solid

nibblys doll design is eh but the stage version is just PERFECT truly could not envision him better. nibblys just a mouth so they were forced to get creative and god damn did it pay off. the visor and bangs drawing attention to the teeth is MWAH. also Kim was just the perfect person to cast for this.

pokey is also great. major props for how creepy he is, and the otho puppet in yellow jackets is just fucking ASTOUNDING. one of the reasons i view yellow jacket at the best nightmare time story ever. prob would win if it wasn't for just personal tastes here. stage design is pretty good too I just think those fur ruffs are kinda ugly. theyve all got a little fur on em somewhere and i think pokeys is the least well utilized idk

blinky is eh. I like the color palette and doll. I think blinky is even harder to conceptualize than nibbly but I feel like they could have done a reverse thing with blinky in some kind of mask that covers the mouth? Lauren slayed but the designs still the weakest

i guess it checks out that webby is the most normal since she likes humans/ she wants to look human for Hannah/lex, but eh I'm tired of the The Girl One Is Pretty trope, she deserves to be as eldritch and monstrous as the rest of them. i wish she was more spidery. maybe theyll drop a true form reveal at some point? i wish she had a doll. all in all she's just A Person. id like them to do a jane doe and give her some blackout lenses or somethin

☆ if u wanna avoid specific triggers I would HIGHLY recommend the website: doesthedogdie.com it tells you if a movie contains anything from needles to animal death, whatever you don't wanna see, it will tell you which movies to avoid! ☆

~ Spider Baby (1967) spooky vibes, a gothic black and white horror about two creepy sisters. this one definitely has a nicole vibe, and I don't remember it being too disturbing (also u don't see much bc it's b+w)

~ Flowers in the Attic (1987 and 2014) not particularly horror but a very spooky vibe, and of course Nicole got her stage name from this story! a gothic setting, family secrets and a horrifying conclusion, perfect autumnal watch (but be warned)

~ Carrie (1976) apart from one particularly bloody scene, the gore in this movie is minimal and not from wounds caused on screen, what happens when a bullied young girl with telekinesis is pushed to her limit? it's a classic for a reason and one of my faves, plus her prom look is gorgeous ♡ ~ ♡

~ Whispering Corridors: Memento Mori (1999) this movie is a classic Korean ghost story, and one of the first films in South Korean cinema to feature a kiss between two girls. the relationship between these two girls is complicated, but it has a true message of bullying in school and homophobia

~ House of Voices/Saint Ange (2004) creepy girls boarding school, and the two lead actresses are so pretty and I've posted screencaps of it before. ghost story with gorgeous visuals and Nicole would probs love this movie

~ Black Swan (2010) obsession, perfection, beauty, girl becomes woman (and it's terrifying). I LOVE this movie, there's a few body horror scenes however the psychological is what makes it an amazing film!! Classic, I could rewatch it forever and Nina's outfits are to DIE FOR. balletcore slay

~ Look Away (2018) and My Sweet Audrina (2016) both starring the lovely India Eisley and have a gloomy atmosphere and not very gory at all. both are some of my fave movies, look away is all about beauty and a shy girl becomes popular after discovering her darker side in her reflection. and my sweet audrina is about a girl who can't leave her gothic house after her sister (with the same name as her) died tragically in the woods.

you are very right with the length of the show with romance in mind (5 seasons w like 25 episodes each) bc you only get crumbs until season 5 or smtg, but the rest of it is just as fun. imo, the first three seasons peaked like that shit was so ridiculous and the characters were really dorky and cringe and the parts where they had to deal with mental health and stuff were like. pretty okay for a typical kids show that censors things. and then it went downhill at 4 in terms of certain characters' development but it was good in terms of other characters' developments (not my fav at all bc they began to villainize one of my favorite character), and then the romance finally picked up at 5 but then the lore got so bad that it was hilarious and yeah, the show is a mess but it's very near and dear to me (tbh i only probably enjoyed it sm bc i didn't take it seriously at all lol)

but yeah, best part about watching the show (other than the show itself) is the fan works, from the fics to the artworks they're all so good, especially the aus (i think you might like this one au artist in particular but i'll hold off in case i accidentally spoil smtg if you decide to watch it😭😭)

on the last season of atla now so!!! the ladybug show watching will start soon.

tbh that all sounds exactly like the sort of thing i'd enjoy. i tend to mostly watch horror so whenever i branch out into a different genre i really enjoy lighthearted, silly shows.

as for season four... will prob set that to play in the background while i do laundry or smth then jeje. i think we have similar taste in characters so if someone you liked took a turn for the worse it'll prob annoy me too.

May I just say what the hell is wrong with men? Like a genuine question. They have been testing my patience harddd for the last two months, and I’m just like— ✋🏼

This is prob a rant, but geez I need to get this shit out of my system. Today, a lovely day, intended to have a chill day, as yesterday I passed an exam in uni (which I’m very happy abt) for what I was having countless all-nighters; but my housemate was begging me to join her for some sort of party/friend gathering her co-worker invited her to.

Usually I decline. Not a fan of parties, even more so with people I don’t even know. But for the first time ever she was begging me to come, and I caved in when she said that people there are going to be on the older side and she feels uncomfortable going alone.

❗️First red flag, we arrive and we’re the only ones there. Def should’ve turned around at that point 🥲 That’s some serial killer move - saying there’s loads of people but turns out she’s the only one invited. In a small space. With a 40+ year old man. She’s in her early twenties.

Then he says some very rude and inappropriate remarks abt her ass, how she’s brainless for working where she works, her music taste and so on.

Then homie starts flexing his ‘open lifestyle’ - in other words how he has used every possible hard drug all his life. Which is fine, but a bit concerning especially after saying how his brain doesn’t work the same way it used to.

Then fairytales come in; suddenly he’s been in a relationship with a married billionaire woman, who’s husband tried to kill him and she basically paid for his whole life for months 🙇🏼‍♀️ ???? What

Suddenly he has been a professional basketball player with a big ass contract till he decided to move to another country?? What?? He literally works in a factory

Then he keeps spitting how awful are people who marry, as that shouldn’t define a relationship (which I agree to), but then some bs comes in as he first said he has never been married, then he has, then his ex-wife is a crazy bitch who blackmailed him. Then she’s suddenly with disabilities. Then she cheated on him and robbed him ?? What ?? (Later on the way back home my housemate said he completely bullshited everything as he said this story to her before with completely different details)

Had to listen to him bitch about his ex-wife for a good half an hour, which, dunno if anyone is still reading this, but trust me, if a man says his ex is a ‘crazy bitch’ - RUN. Trust me on this. One side is never the responsible one. And from my experience - later it turns out that the man was the crazy one.

Then homie gets pushy. Offers drinks one after the other (all refused), and then he pushes me like 6 times to smoke weed. My housemate was also like just smoke some, it’s fine. Took 2 puffs mainly for him to leave me alone, such small amount that it would do nothing. Then he started saying how much ‘I’m under it’ and what not - aha, no, all it did was make me sleepy and a bit fuzzy (still wondering whether he mixed something in it), like literally no effect.

At that point I’m sober, my housemate’s sober, but he’s having some major effects - he starts laughing like a maniac. Genuinely those laughs from horror movies. Needles to say I’m scared shitless.

He starts saying tomorrow he has to drive in town for some ‘serious business’, he mentions something about him needing to *drop it off* later somewhere. Instantly gather he’s talking about some criminal activities and try to end the conversation. He keeps pushing saying I want to know what he’ll do. I said around 10 times I don’t want to hear it. Sometimes the less you know, the better.

Start to make excuses saying I have to meet up with friends so we have to go. He insists we need to stay over, as he prepared his bedroom for us, even left some towels and he’ll stay on the couch. Yeah, not a shot. Fucking creep.

He very professionally sweetens his words and dubiously motions that I’m a bad person who manipulates him. What. Met him for the first (and last) time in my life. When I question him he does his maniacal laugh and says sarcasm. Kept going for good 10 minutes 🤨 continues saying the only bad person he has met is a dude who confessed on being a murderer and was prisoned for 11 years. What.

Aha, and this was only a fraction of those 3 awful hours. What the fuck. Ya know what’s sad - this genuinely wasn’t my worst interaction with men in the last two months alone. Don’t even want to think what could’ve happened if my housemate went alone.

That’s also the main reason why I wrote TDMOE; just wanted to feel some hope that not all men see women as mindless objects ready to follow their every command.

Yeah, this turned out to be a full-blown rant. Sorry abt this, but men have been eating my nerves alive for the past two months. Thank you if anyone actually read this.

Just a reminder to never-EVER lower your standards for any man. Trust me, it’s better to die unmarried but happy, than caged with an animal.

Resolution (peter-centric, 500, T). Since he was eleven, Peter’s New Year’s Resolution had always been the same: this year I will be braver.

It’d been an accident, really, the first time, he didn’t know Dorcas had been discharged from the hospital wing and Marlene had skipped Divination. And the second, third, well, that was being kind to yourself, wasn’t it? It must’ve been coincidence that Remus gave Lily a cat the following year, but, truly, how unkind of him.

4 (apr) —

the grace unasked for (remadora, 17k, T). my @remuslupinfest 2022 entry, DH AU-but-make-it-canon. What if… instead of going to Bill's after the Malfoy Manor, Harry and co. flee to Tonks' parents' house, where Remus and Tonks are hiding with Andromeda?

That point was driven home two days ago, when the peaceful silence of their morning lie-in was interrupted by the sound of things clattering to the ground and smashing. This wasn't exactly a rare occurrence in the house—just not when Dora was asleep beside him. They'd rushed to Andromeda's room to find her doubled over the dressing table, objects atop all swept to the floor, and the last vestiges of a Patronus dissipating. "Ted," she'd gasped, clutching at Dora. Remus had put his arms numbly around the mother-daughter huddle, feeling waves of horror cresting and breaking over him. Feeling for all the world like he was taking another man's place, living another's life.

music genres: i hesitate to say metal bc while the metal i do like is probably my Most favorite kind of music, im absurdly picky lmao, i do not as a whole like just anything in the genre. i also love new wave and what i call 'dad rock', stuff your hypothetical 50-60 yr old stoner dad would listen to. classics ranging like. fleetwood mac, tom petty, deep purple, grateful dead, led zeppelin, but also harder stuff like zz top, sammy hagar, black sabbath

childhood books: gonna be honest with you, my memory is real bad especially regarding my childhood and i read a LOT back then so i probably don't even remember my favorites. i did read watership down quite young, and that's a big fav. i really enjoyed the first two series of warrior cats, but i do not care for them now (but i can still get riled up about these ridiculous fictional cats lmao). a couple i remember reading and really liked that i don't remember well now was the dark portal series and the egypt game. i remember the dark portal books being pretty intense horror for a children's series, which i liked. i also enjoyed what i read of the redwall books, mossflower was my favorite and i have a lovely illustrated edition of it 😍

games:

i am. so so bad at video games, i am only good at 2 dimensional button masher type fighting games, but i kick ass at those lol. dead or alive was my series of choice. also a big fan of silent hill 2

but board games, oh man. i Love board games. extremely partial to clue bc it plays to my strengths, especially my IT (2017) special version. survive is one of my all time favs too. CAH is always a winner. i can usually be suckered into playing life or scrabble, and the 2001 or older editions of blokus are good too. recently tried a more basic version of the game evolution, and im really excited to get the full version and play it someday. just never monopoly, fuck that game.

Just ranting abt horror tropes and how I am picky

Love how that layout change kicked me more into spooky mood again but man I fucking hate how much ableism is in horror movies. I forgot why I don't watch horror movies at like all since forever but adore horror in gen until I searched for ones without any ableist shit in them. If it isn't physical seen as creepy it's the narcissist/sociopath/psychopath villain trope and I want to start strangling producers. The last one I watched was skinamarink and that was like my first one in forever next to an old japanese one like two three years ago w a friend. Will prob rewatch otgw and some classic horror movies. Maybe when focus watch some anime w horror elements. Since like. Getting me to be scared is anyways hard nowadays I consume horror games all year round (albeit only through let's plays). Also idk if it just seems like that or if I got bad luck there but a lot I did want to check out bc of people saying how oh so brutal they are always got rape scenes when I checked which is an immediate no and I just I'm tired man. Also yes I like survival horror I like resident evil silent hill ofc I like a lot of horror game classics but like. Those aren't creepy imo. Those don't evoke the same fear. I want psychological fucked up horror cmon. Gore is cool and I do enjoy it but less in a creepy more in a "yay! ♡" way like sometimes murder makes me feral like an animal. Which is anything but being scared. Like I want to be the one murdering them I want to sink my teeth in and violently shake my head! If you can understand german the youtuber corrupted got pretty much the same taste as me. Back to movies and shows I think the problems also is I just prefer games way more. It's so different just watching people being in a situation vs having to control them maybe even having choices to dif endings and all (even just watching a let's player evokes it enough). Fear and hunger is amazing! 1 and 2! I watched the vods by cdawgva and the game has a neat story characters designs etc. But like. In regs to scary is it not what I exactly want. I bet if I would play myself would I dislike it bc I hate fighting and all. I think bc it touches on the psyche n all is it one I def like more but ig it's more the worldbuilding than the game itself? And then it's for me a yknow horror game but not a scary game. Idk how to explain it maybe a scary game is also just not possible for me and if that is the case then I mean? Fear and hunger nailed it a lot I think. I think I start to analyze automatically more than just let myself be spooked without my brain constantly thinking abt the setting. I mean I like a lot of horror rpg maker games bc of the story setting n all. I think I just enjoy what I enjoy but man is it a shame to only be scared once in a full moon nowadays. I think the suspense is v important? Joey said on a trash taste ep I watched yesterday how a lot of japanese movies nail it w you think there will be smth but then there's nothing so you are constantly on your guard. Maybe that's why if I do I usually watch japanese horror movies. Ik I def don't like when the hard stuff like immediately drops. Def hard to pick my horror taste apart oof.

aight so uhh lil spontaneous positive rant about OFF rpg bc it’s 1AM and I’m having feelings

bro OFF has that magic that makes me fall for it all over again even if I have,, rewatched it gazillion of times. I religiously rewatch it every year (hush it’s my comfort game), yet it never fails to amaze me and punch me in the gut. Reading theories and fan interpretations of the story and the characters is always fun to read, they’re all absolutely valid and mind-blowing every time.

And every time I take a lil check back in the fandom, I find there’s ppl who still make animations abt it, who makes song remixes with other vgm (undertale x off ost is such a king-to-king crossover), and I learn new stuff like Papyrus was inspired by Dedan’s design? Batter is apparently a beast in battles when in Auto and the Player is probs just holding him back bc he lets you control him? the Bad Batter was confirmed ace?? Batterie is possible in “an alternate universe” confirmed like BRO??? (so does that mean Batterie in fanfics is canon and is validated by the creator bc fanfics are technically kinda like AUs if we treat the game as the canon verse and fanfics as alternate universe -)

Anyways, one thing that blew my small little child brain when I was younger and I just first discovered OFF was the idea of an “unreliable narrator.” I felt so betrayed then, and tbh rewatching it yearly, it still blows my freaking mind. Bad Batter reveal was PERFECT, and it wasn’t some random twist in the end, it was a long build up and the game was dropping hints - it gives the Player ample time to think for themselves. When you return to the purified zones, that’s when the Batter’s motives become questionable, but you still put faith in him bc while purification of the zones seems like a shady mission, he isn’t wrong about eradicating spectres (who ARE hostile) and the Guardians aren’t good either so whatever the Batter is doing still seems like the right decision. The game makes you think it’s a black-and-white “hero vs. villains” when really, everyone is in the grey area, and it becomes especially clear that it is when we found out about the whole Hugo situation. It’s like, every character, including the Guardians, had good intentions at some points but they’re also flawed, and I think the flawed characterization is so beautiful because it made the characters complex and it makes you understand why they’re acting this way or how did they become this way. Tbh there’s so so much to say about each character and their symbolisms but i dont have the brain capacity for deep thinking and analysis like other OFF fans (bless yall btw)

And bro,, the art? the music? Straight up FIRE. The spectre designs are so cool I based off my whole personality off of it at some point when I was younger. But no joke, I was super influenced by Mortis’ artstyle. My love for sketchy pencil art style and concept art; my preference of colorless drawings; my fascination for surreal/body horror, foreshortening and perspective all started with my little caveman brain discovering OFF. I straight up saw OFF art and said “wow. I wanna do something like that.” And lord, the music - someone hold me back. It just as influential to my music taste as the art did to my art style. I never really stopped listening to the soundtrack throughout the years, even if I never check back in the fandom, I still listen to it. My appreciation for percussion went really high after hearing the OFF ost. My habit of checking out video game ost after seeing a game also started with OFF ost, bc what if I miss out another bomb soundtrack like OFF, right? Pepper Steak was my first exposure to Electro Swing, and man I’m so glad bc now Electro Swing is one of my fav genres. Brain Plague ost is very brain (heh) stimulating, it’s literally addicting to listen to?? And the music also did very well in complementing the areas of the game, it added a whole new atmosphere and god don’t you just love it when music does that little magic. The game’s aesthetic is solid and coherent in both the art and music, like what a teamwork! I defo want to do something like that if I create my own game (possibly, I hope my future allows it)

Tbh there’s so much more I can say about this game, but I’m not very good at constructing a professional and coherent analysis or whatever. And this is all first draft so

TL;DR : OFF is very iconic and definitely one of the best rpg games ever bestowed upon Earth, and I love it forever no joke Im having feelings for it again
