Arcane X Beach Date with Reader!

Characters: Powder/Jinx, Violet "Vi", Caitlyn Kiramman, Ekko, Viktor, Jayce Talis, Mel Medarda, Sevika, Ran and Vander

Warning: Some slight suggestive themes and mild cursing. But pretty much SFW.

A/N: Aww, summer is practically over! I hope you guys had fun this summer and stayed safe! Whatever is next in the future, I hope we all have a great time and look forward to the rest of 2024! We only got three more months until Season Two guys, I know we can do it even if it feels so far. So let's hang in there!

Powder/Jinx

“Hey, hurry up and look over here, toots! I’m about to pull off the biggest cannonball!... Yeah, yeah, I’ll be fine- Now watch me!”

At the beach, Jinx is absolutely going to do everything under the sun, whether it be legal or illegal! She might not be the best swimmer, but she loves getting in the water, especially jumping in and getting her adrenaline going. And you better expect her to get you involved in a water fight! Just don’t expect her to play fair, girlie has a bunch of mechanisms she can make into weapons for your game and she’s not afraid to use them!

Sand castles are requested and being buried in sand is a must. A date at the beach with the Loose Cannon feels more like a hangout than a lovely day together in the sand, but don’t get it wrong. Jinx loves spending time with you at the beach and will sneak some kisses to your cheek or slam her lips on yours. She’s pretty sure your beach date is probably one of the best days of her life and it’s all thanks to you.

Violet “Vi”

“This is the perfect weather for a nice swim, babe. Hey- Race you to the other side. Last one there is buying ice cream!”

When you invited Violet to a date on the beach, she was more than ready, she was beyond excited! She is a perfect balance between playful and romantic, always flirting with you in regards to your swimsuit and even sneaking some seductive touches along your body. And right when she’s done or is about to kiss you, she’s quick to trick you by running away gleefully waiting for you to catch her or messing with you.

She’s not exactly the best of swimmers, but is willing to learn and get her feet wet just for you. If you both aren’t having fun talking to each other and exploring the beach side by side, then guests of the beach better expect to see a happy couple making out in the sand or getting affectionate. Peering eyes or none, a beach date with Violet is all you could ever ask for and more.

Caitlyn Kiramman

“Ahh, isn’t this absolute bliss, my love-... Did. Did you just splash me? Oh, you’re gonna pay royally for that.”

Caitlyn has been to the beach quite a lot in the summer with her family and always loved spending time on the coast. So when you asked her on a getaway there, she was immediately on board. During your date, she makes sure you are all okay, rubbing sunscreen on you and checking if all your equipment is accounted for. Caitlyn is more on the quieter side, having a picnic in the sand with you or laying in the shade and just catching the breeze.

But do not let this fool you; She can be playful and accept your requests to swim, especially since she’s a pro at it, or just play in general! She’ll always be open to exploring underwater with you or even making some sand castles together! When it’s time to go, Caitlyn almost doesn’t want to leave, but at least she has a sweet memory and new tradition to share with you.

Ekko

“You’re right, we all needed this vacation. Everyone’s happy and you’re happy, so I’m fine. Wanna take a swim with the others?”

Ekko has never been to the beach before. He’s only heard stories from Pilties that passed by the undercity and seen pictures of it, but has never set foot on one, and neither has the Firelights. Whenever he needed a swim or a getaway, he would just find a local lake or river to satisfy him and everyone else’s needs. So you can imagine his surprise when you set up a little vacation for him and his allies on the coast!

The leader of the firelights is beyond happy the entire time you’re by his side and showing off the beach to the firelights, engaging in small games of volleyball or tag with the young ones. Of course it’s still a date for you two, so he’s sure to give you all the love and care you could ask for when the kids or Scar aren’t taking up you two’s time. But even then, it is all in all a fun experience to share, whether alone or with the freedom fighters.

Viktor

“Aye! How is the water so cold? Maybe you should swim on without me… Don’t worry, I’ll keep watch-. H-Hey! Fine, I’ll join you, let’s just take it slow.”

It had been years since Viktor had stepped on a beach before you asked him on a date there. The once feeling of sand in his feet made him raise an eyebrow and the wind touching his skin had him a bit nervous with his body out. From the looks of it, you were sure at first that this would be a hard time to enjoy together…

But after a while and a bit of convincing to let loose with some encouragement, the scientist finally let loose a little and enjoyed all of the beach with you. He may not be able to swim, but walking in the water, holding your hand and feeling the small waves crash into his ankles? Now that was a piece of absolute heaven. And exploring uncharted territories with you to find the most beautiful of caves was beyond delightful. He would have to remind himself to come to the beach with you more often.

Jayce Talis

“What’s up? Are you admiring my muscles?... If you’re looking at them dry, I can’t wait to see how you’ll look at them wet. Now come on in!”

All it took was one date to find out that Jayce practically belonged on the beach with you! There he acted like such an excited child in his trunks running immediately into the water with your hand in his to feel the waves wash over you two. Don’t expect to do much outside of swimming unless you need something from your personal belongings, and even then Jayce will go grab it for you and head straight back in!

He isn’t much of a goofball swimming with you outside of small moments of teasing, but he does get quite handsy and flirtatious, holding your waist and pulling you close to kiss you. Everyone can practically put together that you are his with how affectionate he is around you. And he doesn’t care either because he doesn’t mind putting you on the pedestal where you belong. It’s a chill date, but a nice date regardless.

Mel Medarda

“Mmm, we needed this, sweetheart. A day away from the nagging, pointless fighting and having to meet expectations? It’s absolutely worth it.”

A beach date with Mel has got to be one of the calmest dates you’ll ever have in your life. Mel isn’t much of a swimmer, preferring to just walk down the coast with you. But even then, she spends most of her time sunbathing and simply taking in the ambiance around the both of you in relaxation. For some it may be boring, but for her just being near you and practically doing nothing is heavenly.

Of course she won’t be a prude though. Sometimes she’ll take a minute and collect seashells to take home with her as souvenirs. And if you do want to swim around or really utilize the beach, she will let you and simply watch you having fun lovingly from the sidelines. That is unless you want her to join you, then just ask and she’ll be right by your side enjoying every second with you.

Sevika

“Ran is challenging me to volleyball and I was wondering if you’d want to be my partner?... Thanks babydoll- Hey, Ran! Get ready to get your ass kicked!”

Sevika doesn’t go to the beach unless it’s with a group of friends. Only then with them and you as company is she gonna have the time of her life! Outside of work and in the sand, the muscular woman is a lot more relaxed and a bit playful with everyone, including yourself. She’ll do whatever you’d like as long as it means you both are enjoying yourself.

Want to play a few games? She’s all for it. Want to just kick back and take in the sun and the waves? She’s cool with that too! Nothing is off limits for the Right Hand of Zaun, and I mean nothing. Because if you feel it’s not exactly a date, then Sevika has no problem taking you somewhere a bit more secluded and showing you a great time~. At the end of the day, you’re sure to look back on your time with your girlfriend at the beach fondly and can’t wait for the next one!

Vander

“We should try and make this a tradition. You, me and the kids, come down to the beach every summer. They’d look forward to it every year. And so will I…”

Everytime you and Vander go to the beach, it is usually with the kids as an annual family outing. Yeah, the both of you have to babysit a bit and deal with the mindless teasing of the sumprats when you both get intimate, but you enjoy yourselves regardless. You love when the Hound of the Undercity plays tag with his adopted children, even dragging you in for the ride and getting a good adrenaline kick from it all.

You two always leave the beach excited for the next time around the following year with tired kids needing to be laid down. He makes sure to let you know how grateful he was to spend time with you and everyone else, nuzzling into you and whispering how much he loves you. Though you miss those days, you never broke that tradition, even when the world fell apart. No matter what, you always come back every summer to the beach to keep the memory alive…

I've never believed that Jinx's real name was powder. To me that does not make much sense. Every other character in the show no matter their importance, has had a name. A REAL name. Powder is not a name. Powder is not even a noun name. It's just a noun. It doesn't make sense to have this character who has this extremely weird name among characters that all have proper/"normal" names. As I thought about this I realized a secret that Arcane uses when it comes to names.

In arcane, names giveaway allegiances. Our main cast from Piltover have proper names. Jayce, Caitlyn. Ambessa, Mel, Marcus, Grayson, etc. Our Zaun cast all have interesting/weird/uncommon names. Silco, sevika, Vander, Ekko, singed, huck, claggor, Mylo, etc. if her name truly is powder then this fits the theme, it's just on the extreme side of weird zaun naming conventions. The name jinx however still fits with the Zaun theme AND makes much more sense.

It's very important to note that these names are not by origin, they are by allegiance. Our two main examples are vi and Viktor.

Viktor is considered to be a normal name hence why he is a part of the pilltover plot line. However his spelling is odd. His name is most commonly spelled as Victor, but his name has a k, adding in that Zaun weirdness factor. Viktor lives in Piltover and has assimilated into their society. Throughout season 1 we see Viktor, we hear him reiterate how he's a Zaunite and how he made hextech to help his city. With each episode we see him stray farther away from Piltover and those ideals. Furball says don't mess with the arcane, kill the hex core, do things safely, and Viktor says no to all of these. He works on the hex core in secret, it ends up killing his friend, and he makes Himself one with the magic. We see him go to singed for help, we see him use shimmer, and this is how he's making distance from Piltover. We don't know his involvement in S2 but we can theorize that he's going to keep making this push back to his roots, back to his true allegiance.

Vi is from the undercity and she has a noun name like jinx (or "powder"), but unlike her sister Vi's name is proper. This hints at Vi's allegiances being with piltover, which checks out with what we see in the show. Vi partners up with Caitlyn, a piltie enforcer. Vi urges Ekko to return the crystal back to Piltover. Vi tells the council about Jinx. Vi works with Jayce to stop shimmer production and silco. Vi ends up becoming an enforcer in season 2. So even though she's historically been pro Zaun and anti Piltover, her name tells us that at the end of the day (season 2) she's actually going to side with Piltover.

Arcane Episode 3 Immediate Thoughts

Oh hey, my prediction from Episode 1 about Ambessa was right!

To be honest I'm pretty sleep deprived at this point so my thoughts about this episode aren't very coherent.

-The black rose from League lore!

-Diversity Win! The corrupt police officer lesbians go to kiss an hour before they broke up!

-Jinx is pro-Cait/Vi Sex scene

-It is heartbreaking knowing from the leaked french trailer that Jayce will likely spend the entirety of the coming time skip in the hexgates wild rune chamber. Poor guy.

-No Viktor update this ep :(

-Jayce is probably my favorite character so far, which is crazy cause he was my least favorite last season. I was too harsh on him, this boy's alright.

-That Cat lady who gave Mel information was so cunty, she slayed so hard. I want to listen to her dialogue on repeat like ASMR.

-The Music video at the beginning was gorgeous. So was all the animation. As always Studio Fortiche slays the house down.

-All the Jana references are great. I like that. Also, she looks so much better than she does in actual League. I can't tell if they are using the Legends of Runeterra redesign, if not they should.

-Vi looks more like her League self in this episode than every before. Cool.

-How TF did Jinx effectively fight Vi without a weapon for a while when Vi has the gloves? I know Jinx was pissed and has shimmer running through her veins, but still. She's built like a twig.

-Considering what we saw last time in terms of Ambessa's taste in men, I wouldn't be surprised if Salo is her sugar baby.

-I'm still so glad Mel is ok. I was so sure they would kill her off, it was giving me so much dread for this season. But she's alive :)

-All the Heimerdinger, Ekko, and Jayce stuff is fun.

-How was Viktor ok with the hexgates having the most dangerous part in the undercity? His entire motivation last season was building stuff to help the undercity. Granted he says he only did the hexgates to get hextech off the ground, and is often blinded by ambition, but it feels like the kind of thing he would object to.

-Overall: It's good. Not perfect, but very very good. If S1 was a 9.5/10, so far S2 is an 8/10. Not AS amazing, but it would be insane to call it bad. I am loving it so far and super hype.

Something I wish had been addressed in My Hero Academia...

Pros and Villains alike underestimating the sheer determination of a Quirkless person with a weapon.

You have Geten monologuing on how only people with a strong Quirk have a place in the world. My dude...I can think of a few people who can absolutely challenge that philosophy.

Crossover insight.

Castlevania: In a world with magic, monsters and spellcasters, Trevor Belmont had no magical abilities, but he didn't let that stop him. Oh, the whips were magic? Support item!

Besides, he didn't use their magic elements most of the time. He puts out someone's eye in Season One and he straight up strangles a guy in Season Four.

Arcane: Ekko. No magic. Just a gravity-defying board, a metal pipe, and a well-time strike. Granted, he wasn't up against a magic user in this scene, but she did have a gun and explosives.

Avatar: And then we have Ty Lee not even hesitating to annihilate an entire group of Earthbenders with nothing more than her chi blocking fists. ATLA had a whole cast of non-benders who were holding their own against the ones with 'powers.'

Moral of the story: Do not mess with the 'Quirkless' people.

It really goes to show how heavily the world in My Hero began to rely on powers to the point that anyone born without a Quirk (or a Quirk that was useless) was someone to be pitied.

Honestly, when I first started watching the anime, I was with my sister and she'd already seen it. So by the time we got the part with the Slime Villain and all the Pros not knowing what to do, I just turned to her and asked, "So wait, since Deku has all the knowledge about these Pros, is he just gonna become a master strategist and coordinate an effective attack and save the day?"

And she just looked at me with this sad expression and said, "No, but that would have been really cool."

Even though I enjoy My Hero Academia, faults and all, I will admit that is a small disappointment I'm still not over. And that might be why the Villain Deku AU appeals to me so much personally. It would have been awesome to have a Pro-Hero or a villain who was 100% Quirkless and making it work the best they could.

I mean, imagine anyone of the My Hero cast humbled like that. "Got our asses whooped by a Quirkless fella."

Aizawa's Quirk is virtually useless on its own. That's why he also uses a scarf, a knife, and martial arts combat to fight. Even if he lost his Quirk, he still has a scarf, a knife, and martial arts combat. Not much changes except he now has to adapt his fighting style to finding a different kind of opening to strike.

Touya might've been fine if someone suggested he use a highly-flammable accelerant as support gear. It was only prolonged usage of his fire that seemed to be hurting him.

Deku losing One For All? He was a brain over brawn character-type to begin with, so I genuinely don't see this as a major issue. An issue because losing any abilities sucks, but he's got a legitimate workaround as the strategist.

And if Midnight was going to use a whip...

...why couldn't she have used it like a fucking boss? Alas, we were robbed.

okay these are all very very rough ideas and even if a character is in the role of another, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll act the same. most of these are subject to change too! still ironing out the details

jinx/powder - tomura/tenko. self-explanatory i feel like

vi - hana. she lives in this au!! and since she was a child in canon, i'm going to avoid pairing her with anyone romantically.

caitlyn - keigo. here's where the differences in this au really start to shine. keigo is originally from the undercity, after the bridge was stormed the council wanted to show they "cared" about the undercity. they got in contact with a family and paid them off in exchange for their son. keigo was then raised by the todoroki family (enji is a councilor). enji and rei are a bit iffy on keigo's decision to join the enforcers, but he's made up his mind. he starts investigating the undercity to find the root of the problem so he can reconnect with the people there and help improve lives.

ekko - shuichi? i need to inject spinaraki into everything i make, but it's also tricky since ekko is a leader and shuichi is more of a follower. i'm thinking he does some big things to try and save tenko from afo (like the deleted scene of ekko trying to save powder from silco) and along the way gains a reputation and a following. he's very hesitant about it, but he has nothing else left

vander - toshinori. unlike in canon, there's no lost friendship with silco (afo). toshinori, the hound of the underground, took up leadership of the lanes after the death of nana shimura when they tried storming the bridge. that's also where he adopted hana and tenko. after their failure to make it to piltover, he became the symbol of peace for the lanes. he kept things running smoothly and everyone looked up to him. his death shook the whole undercity

silco - afo. while silco wanted zaun to be an independent nation, afo's goals stretch further than that. once zaun has secured its place in the world, he wants to build an empire. he wants the respect and fear of everyone and manipulates anyone to get his way. he's aware of toshinori's group and has been looking for ways to topple him. the stunt his children pulled of blowing up a building topside was the perfect opportunity

sevika - really not sure. kurogiri??? I don’t know if the roles exactly fit

grayson/marcus - combining them into one character for naomasa! originally he WAS on toshinori's side, working with him to try and keep that peace. but after the explosion topside, things got rocky. afo approached him, promising he would get him results, but things got messier than naomasa ever intended. it ended with toshinori's death and the undercity get turned upside down. ever since then, he's been in afo's pocket, who threatens the lives of his family should he step out of line. took inspo from horikoshi’s original idea for naomasa where he’d be a spy for all for one

heimerdinger- nezu. i mean come on. small furry genius guys? i don't think i have to say anything else about that one

the council - made up of top pros. (enji, jeanist, ryukyu, etc.) i still need to work out if the role of mel (and by extension, ambessa) will still exist in this

there's still plenty i need to work out. i still have no idea who jayce, viktor, or milo and claggor could be. would appreciate feedback!!

Arcane characters as gamer types (pt.1?)

Vi: Fighting game enthusiast. Can land flashy combos. Tekken addict and pro. Hates spammers. She also enjoys Skullgirls, Street Fighter and Guilty Gear. Smash is not to her taste.

Powder: Nintendo gamer. Only plays cute games, especially Animal Crossing.

Mylo: Counter Strike degenerate. Has over 6000 hours on the game, over 116 VAC bans, is global elite and earns living through selling skins. Screams the vilest slurs known to man into the mic and flames other players. But he always carries every single match

Claggor: Indie game lover. Has over thousand icons of them on the desktop. He loves relaxing and chill games.

Vander: Refuses to play anything but PS1 and PS2 games. Metal Gear is his favorite.

Ekko: Screams into the mic like a dumbass when the match is thrown. Makes stupid jokes on the mic. Has awful aim but never gives up.

Long ago, Humans played Gods and decided to create a new race: Hybrids. They combined human and animals genes, depending on what they needed. Strong slaves? Fast? Agile? But the more they created, the more Hybrids started to understand that they were living creatures, even they were from laboratory. And feelings coming in the way, their lives had a story. Learning, loving, hating, dreaming... They understood they were able to live as their "masters" and demanded a real life. Insurrection happened. They obtained rights.

Vi Lane is a Hybrid Wolf, a gang leader. Yet, as a Hybrid, knowing her race's History, she despises Humans. Her father wants her to have a chance to have a good life, getting her dream job, being a pro hockey player, so he signs her up for Piltover's University, a pro-Hybrid school, where everybody's rights are respected. But her grades are pretty low, too much for her to enroll the hockey club. But the headmaster thinks she deserves her chance, and decides that Vi has to be tutored, by no one else that the top student: Caitlyn Kiramman.

What awaits the two women? Will Vi be ok to let Caitlyn, a Human, a rich and popular one, be close to her? Will the Beast bite... or be tamed by the Beauty?
