Men are not equal to women. Men are expendable. That’s why they’re the ones sent to die in war. Millions of them could die without it having a severe impact on society. In fact, if all males died tomorrow, the human population would still be able to recover (thanks to frozen sperm).
Women’s ability to create life is what make us inherently more valuable than men. That’s why they fight so hard to control our reproductive capabilities. It gives them a sense of power and importance.
They are not important. They know when they look down at their useless nipples that female is the default. That this is a female world. Their sole purpose - to provide sperm - is only meant to complement the female.

Ladies, if you were given free reign to form your own country that, while not considered "women's land," per se (in the sense that women aren't the only ones allowed to live there), but that would be considered matriarchal by law, what laws would you create to govern it? I'll start: sex crimes are to be considered punishable by death. They are also only to be investigated by women, the judges in all such cases must be women, and juries in such cases must be at least 50% women. Males must never be given positions of authority over women or children. Universal healthcare is a must, including (and especially) maternal healthcare and pediatric healthcare. Early childcare is also to be considered free on demand. Abortions are 100% legal on demand and covered in the universal healthcare plan by the state. Child marriage is legally banned. Also, two words: Nordic Model. Whilst any *legal adult*, whether male or female, is welcome to dress in whatever way they please, identity markers are to be based on sex, not gender identity, and women's spaces are to be regarded as sacrosanct. Finally, some equivalent to the Equal Rights Amendment is to be considered a part of the country's basic constitution, and is also to be regarded as sacrosanct.
Okay, ladies. Your turn. What would you add to that list? What legislation would you enact with regard to property laws? Gun laws? What types of social programs would you enact, and who would benefit from them? Let me know; I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Feminists will say stuff like "the government should not be involved in the decisions people make about their own body" and in most contexts I would agree.
But at the end of the day I am a federalist, and I think "staying out of it" isn't going far enough with reproductive rights. Not criminalizing the life-saving procedures we already have is a good start. But ideally a strong centralized government would be actively helping support the citizenry in their family planning.
Ever since the witch burnings and other missteps, the science of gynecology has lagged a century behind the rest of medicine. And as part of my hundred year reign of terror, I promise to reallocate all the funding we were wasting on our defense budget into the burgeoning field of uterine transplant research.
Because when every rich person in the world is trying to immigrate into your country for your healthcare, that's how you get back on top as a global superpower.
I'm just saying, unless you're an anarchist, we should be talking about how a hands-off approach really is the bare minimum. It's not a huge problem that the first-time-maternity age is rising, but the privatized IVF networks still take a very "robbing Peter to pay Paul" approach, and it would be nice if someone put forward an actual solution besides "let's just force women out of the workforce again". It would be nice if "Have your career and adventures first, then settle down" was celebrated as the foundation of a healthy and educated nuclear family, and empowered women were not treated as a boogeyman in Great Replacement talking points. It would be nice if we lived in an era of Science, where biology was forced to conform to human happiness, and we didn't have a bunch of religious nutjobs trying to argue that it should be the other way around.

FEMALE MOVIE/TV RECS (PART 9 / ADULT & FAMILY ANIMATION)
got inspired from a recommendation post so decided to make a list of movies and shows with female-centric stories/female protagonists. since i can't post all of the genres in one post, i'll split it into multiple posts and y'all can save or add to the list as you wish. (disclaimer: i have watched most of these, but i only know about the existence of others. not every movie/show on these lists will be my recommendation. my recommendations will be beneath the list with reasons. also some of these are way better than others in terms of storytelling/performance--which is why i'll list my faves separately):
Common Themes/Tropes:
-Woman/girl is OP and gets bullshit from other people for it
-Heroine tries desperately to fix the world
-Leaving home to go on adventures for the sake of a dream or doing the right thing
-Sisters are a lifeline
-Women/girls can literally do or be anything
-Violence is the only answer men will understand
-The world is so big, grand and beautiful and she wants to see more of it
-Girls being the conscience of an entire society
-Things going ham when she reaches Boss Level
-Magic (and violence) are good things, especially paired together
-A man (usually a father or guy friend) is the only conscience she has left
-F*ck marriage there's bigger problems TM
-I must save my father/sister
-Serious mommy issues
-Has an animal companion or IS the animal companion (robots also count as animal companions in terms of function imo)
-Making friends with the monster
OF WHICH ARE FOR ADULT AUDIENCES:
Pantheon
Scavenger's Reign
Blue Eye Samurai
Arcane: League of Legends
Trese
HAVEN'T WATCHED:
Pantheon
Lilo & Stitch
Fiona & Cake
Star Vs. The Forces of Evil
Trese
Princess Mononoke
Green Snake
The Breadwinner
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Violet Evergarden
Barbie in The Diamond Castle
Monsters Vs Aliens
Epic
Finding Dory
Encanto
The Incredibles II
Tinkerbell: Legend of The Neverbeast
Brave
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
Blue Eye Samurai (10/10) (super gritty, but the perfect revenge story, puts John Wick to shame)
Scavenger's Reign (8/10) (split story, but two of the main characters are women, and one is a black lesbian! fantastic animation, though don't watch if you're intensely trypophobic, it can be sci-fi horror)
Mulan (9/10) (one of the most perfect animated Disney classics)
Turning Red (8/10) (this movie remembered the tween era)
Tinkerbell (if you crave matriarchy, sisterhood, magic and female centric society and story, then you need to watch the Tinkerbell movies)
Wolfwalkers (7.5/10) (an anti-colonial, anti patriarchal, pro-pagan fantasy movie with beautiful animation and a very touching, female-centric story)
Arcane: League of Legends (10/10) (gorgeous animation, amazing writing, incredible performances, and don't get me started on the sisters that take centre stage--also, lesbianism and gender nonconformity!)
The Legend of Korra (8/10) (good writing, a badass protagonist, a fantastic cast of characters, beautiful scoring, beautiful animation, amazing action sequences)
PERSONAL NOTES
The Mitchells Vs The Machines is basically a drama between a lesbian girl and her dad who have to figure their relationship out while they're running from robots. It was full of heart and fun and had some good jokes in there. I'd definitely recommend it.
Raya & The Last Dragon is the first Disney movie with a gender non-conforming princess! It also has some of the best action sequences in any Disney animated movie, however it doesn't hold a candle to The Incredibles II, which stars Helen Parr as the main character of the film. It's one of my favourite films of all time because of how they depict Helen and the main villain of the story (a badass genius of a woman). Really pro-female films, even for all their flaws.
Abominable has some of the most gorgeous visuals I've seen outside of a Disney animation. The texturing and coloring is so vivid it makes my mouth water. It's far better than Over The Moon, but both have their own charm. Abominable and Home have very similar plots. Also, the girl in Home is voiced by Rihanna while Beyonce voices the queen of the faeries in Epic.
One movie that shares a similar theme (kindness to animals even if we don't understand them or they scare us) with Abominable is The Sea Beast. The Sea Beast is one of the best animations with a black female girl as a lead I've ever seen. There's also a badass black woman pirate. There are some scenes that could have been written (or colored) better, but I loved it either way. I think it was the first animated film to depict shrinkage for black hair! And it didn't lighten the skin or whiten the features of the black characters!
Many people view Frozen II and Brave as "almost" masterpieces whose writers ultimately failed them, and I can say that I agree to some extent. There are many things technically wrong with the movies. Minor details that set the pacing off or take away from the immersion. However, I still love both of them. I really love daughter vs mother and sister vs sister stories (that includes Tinkerbell: The Secret of The Wings) because there's so much to explore in such relationships. They also both have some killer soundtracks, some amazing visuals and well-executed action sequences. I've truly seen way worse than these two films, and the characters are mostly loveable.
The Breadwinner is an animated film about a girl dressing up like a boy under the rule of the Taliban so she can earn some money to help feed her family. It's scored very high by critics.
I'd also recommend The Owl House (even though there's some appeal to genderism in later seasons). It's the first time I've seen a bisexual animated character and the enemies to lovers arc with Luz and Amity is unmatched in cannon magic school stories. I also really love the depiction of The Owl Lady who is treated like a male character in that she is allowed to be non-maternal, single and old (and wrinkled), arrogant and boastful, all without the show trying to punish her for it. The Boiling Isles are also fascinating as a setting.
If you like The Owl House, there's a chance you'll love She-Ra. There were many things I found annoying about She-Ra, but my experience was mostly positive. I'm not the biggest fan of Catradora, but I do appreciate the drama. I loved the world-building and magic system mainly, so the character quirks didn't get to me as much as they have others. Also, amazing antagonists in this series. It could have been more mature, but it's still entertaining.
I also definitely recommend Home on The Range. It's a whole movie with talking animals, but there's no tomboy like the main female protagonist in a Disney movie. She is one of the most tomboy characters Disney ever made. Also, I love 2D animation and this film reminds me why. Also, the idea of a feminine, micromanaging old heifer, a bull-headed, roughhouse new girl cow, and a young airhead cow that can't sing going on an adventure across the wild west to save their human's (a sweet old lady with some bark and bite) farm? And they have to compete with a hotshot, asshole male horse who is young and fast? It's like the perfect western comedy but with cows!
Anyways, if you can't tell, I love animated stuff and a lot of these are my comfort movies.

FYI if you follow me
I post a lot of hypno, conditioning, and soft cnc stuff, a lot of it comes from sissy blogs, bimbo blogs, and pro-patriarchy blogs.
I am not a sissy and this is not a sissy blog.
I support trans supremacy or the matriarchy, not the patriarchy
OK, I am a bimbo, that's why I post this stuff
I do want to dumb down. I have anxiety & don't like to think.
btw, just because i am not team patriarchy doesn't mean I don't like guys. I also doesn't mean that I don't like dominant guys, I do on both accounts. I just don't like the bullshit toxic alpha male frat-bro attitude that thinks abusing women is what being a dominant means.
Sorry for the rant, I just had a bad experience at the store.

Does anyone else think that the criticism against the Barbie movie comes off as extremely tone deaf? The movie has an extremely animated, almost cartoonish tone and despite having a precise message regarding women empowerment, it was also clear to me that you aren't supposed to take everything in the film literally. Lots of people have been calling the film anti-male but I don't think that's true. It's just very pro-female. I didn't come out of the film feeling as though the film was suggesting that the world should be a matriarchy. To me it was clear that the patriarchy vs matriarchy thing was done in pure jest. To me the main message of the film was to tell girls not to be embarrassed of their femininity and that being girly, fun, and barbie-like doesn't have to prevent you from being someone who is ambitious and powerful. What makes barbie land magical isn't that it's a matriarchy, it's the fact that women can be goofy and fun and feminine yet still be taken seriously. A lot of people have been calling America Ferrera's monologue cringe and woke but it fit the tone of the film perfectly. Her monologue isn't supposed to address the nuances and complexities of all the problems modern women face, it's supposed to be uplifting, heartfelt yet easy to understand. I think the main problem here was that people won't allow this film to be what it is- a fun movie targeted towards women who grew up loving Barbie. This movie isn't trying to change the world. It exists so that people who love Barbie can sit back for two hours and laugh as Barbie experiences the same things the rest of us do. I get that there are some jokes made about the patriarchy but how is that really any different from men cracking jokes about their wives and girlfriends being crazy. Men have been calling feminists butthurt snowflakes who can't take a joke for years but look what happens when the tables are turned. I personally really enjoyed the movie and I'm tired of people looking for excuses to tear it apart. I understand that people are allowed to criticize movies but I wish the criticisms were within reason and not made simply with the intention of having to hate on something targeted towards women.

The Matriarchy
A matriarchy is any social system where women are dominant and tend to hold positions of power.
For the last 2 years I’ve dreamed about living in a world where women were in charge. It began during the pandemic when I started reading about pre-colonial Philippines and consumed heavy amounts of cannabis daily alongside weekly doses of magic mushrooms. I often had vivid visions of what a modern matriarchy looked like after reading about how many societies in the Philippines were matriarchal or matrilineal in nature on top of being pro-lgbtq and doing world building exercises.
What Do I Hope To Gain From A Matriarchal World?
I find gender limiting, especially masculinity. In a matriarchal world, gender wouldn’t be so rigid and people would be free to explore their identities more. The world would be somewhat more compassionate, equal and kinder in some ways. I’d want the world to be filled with more femboys, muscle bottoms, muscle mommies and submissive alpha male types.
I’m not under any impression that my life would change drastically under this ideal world but I know things would be marginally better for everyone. I know what it’s like to be surrounded by abusive women so I’m not delusional enough to think femmes can do no wrong. Most of the people in my family were abusive regardless of gender and everyone enabled all the predators. I’m queer, have ADHD, manage multiple chronic illnesses, spent the first few years of my life living in a 3rd world slum and I’ve been homeless for the last couple of years. Even in a matriarchal world, things wouldn’t be in my favor and inequality will exist in some capacity.
If I was the exact same person in this utopian society, then I know that the world would still discriminate against me because it would be rife with ableists, classists, racists and people would find newer ways to hate others because prejudices are bred out of ego and they are the most common way people manifest that. People would still have a need to gain power and control over others which will result in awful behaviors.
How Would People Benefit From This World?
In this ideal world people would be free to pursue things outside of the current gender norms. Although inequality would still exist, the world would be more of a meritocracy and there would be less systemic issues oppressing people. Men would still be free to be strong warrior types or to be meek house husbands with little to no judgment. Women and queer people can be whatever they want to be rather than being forced into fixed roles.
How Are You Building This World and How Can Others Work Towards This Goal?
There’s nothing special about me. For all intents and purposes, I’m just a mentally ill and highly traumatized person dealing with a slew of chronic health conditions. Most of the worst things you could imagine happening to a person already happened to me. I’m on the verge of being homeless. I have no real power or social status. I’ve been struggling with gender dysphoria for over 5 years and I’m not in a healthy place to start gender affirming care anytime soon. I envision myself acting the way I would if the world was already a matriarchy. I do my best to not be a misogynistic asshole. I try to uplift women and queer people in small ways. I give what little I can to people and especially women or queer people in need.
I have a tough time taking care of myself due to struggling with depression for most of my life, dealing with extreme poverty, severe gender dysphoria and I have severe executive dysfunction due to me being unmedicated while having ADHD.
I’m an average person who’s down on their luck. I have a personality that isn’t palpable to the average person. I view everything as a comedic bit. I have a laundry list of goals I want to accomplish before starting HRT which most people would consider stupid like making millions off a crypto shit coin scheme, blasting steroids then entering a bodybuilding competition, becoming a professional Muay Thai fighter, making millions off internet marketing by creating an online course, starting a penis enlargement company in Asia, becoming a top 10 “male” pornstar on the hub, becoming a NYT bestselling author, creating my own religion, making social media content for millions of so-called normal people, and a slew of other nonsensical objectives. I don’t believe I’ll accomplish even a fraction of these things given my life trajectory but that won’t stop me from trying.
I don’t expect other people to join me or share my vision. For things to work, there can be no organization, movement or anything resembling that and giving it any other name won’t work because it will get co-opted or commercialized. It’s a feeling and way of life that’s as natural as breathing the same way most people don’t even think about the patriarchy or any of the systemic issues they face.
Every thought and belief is harmful because somebody on the planet will be hurt by anything and it will always create an opposing viewpoint. People will always try to pick it apart no matter how well intentioned or sound the logic behind it is and everything can be used to abuse someone.
The matriarchy is spiritual in nature. A state where one exists as they are free from thoughts, beliefs and ideals. It’s a feeling of oneness with the universe itself where people act in line with their values without any thoughts and act without any expectations. It’s similar to enlightenment or “samadhi” but most of the spiritual practices to get there are biased towards men, and cisgendered neurotypical people so it differs from those two concepts in that it erases gender while acknowledging the way the world is.
There are multiple ways to achieve this state and that’s through yoga, meditation, austerity, service to others, taking care of the planet, mastery of a craft, devotion to a deity or oneself, discipline and complete renunciation of everything. There’s no one true path to get there and somebody can choose more than one method. Ultimately people have to figure this out for themselves.
I am not the spokesperson, leader or creator of the matriarchy. I’m just a person living it out. If you project any sort of expectations onto me whether they’re positive or negative then you’ll be disappointed. I’ve devoted myself to the left hand path and my way of dealing with my problems are unconventional and disagreeable with the average person.
I’m fortunate to live in a woke country like Canada where something like this is easier to live out but I realize there’s still so much work that needs to be done, both within myself and to the world around me. The work never ends and it would take a plethora of lifetimes before something like this materializes in any meaningful capacity. Believers of the matriarchy exist in all walks of life. It’s not something that ever needs to be discussed, debated or turned into an organization. I hope to live these beliefs through publishing content online, writing books, creating yoga or meditation programs and overall just living out these beliefs without any expectations of receiving anything back.
Conclusion
There is no matriarchy. It’s not a thought, belief, movement, organization, social media trend, or idea. It’s action without expectation where one lives their values without expectations, thought, or hesitation. This matriarchal world may not exist worldwide but you can create it in your friend circles, workplaces, families, relationships, and local communities.

I finally watched Barbie yesterday and I feel like the message was kind of? odd? As in, I felt like it was giving off an idea that gender struggle only really involves flip-flopping between patriarchy and matriarchy (well not even that, exactly; there are no depictions of fathers/mothers/parenting/family within Barbieland/the Kendom, so more like just an adult-centering extracted version of male supremacy/female supremacy). Which is already common antifeminist propaganda—the idea that struggle against patriarchy’s power over women equals struggle for women to have power over men, that if patriarchy is overthrown then it will necessarily mean matriarchy, and truly egalitarian relations are impossible. (And, especially, the idea that being oppressed (generally) motivates the oppressed to want to oppress their oppressor in return, rather than just to liberate themselves—see: Ken’s motivation for instituting patriarchy over the Barbies being his neglect by Barbie/the exclusion of Kens, for example.) So like, it was kind of both an apologia for (hypothetical) matriarchy as well as for patriarchy?
But also the matriarchy concept wasn’t very well done IMO; it kind of ignored the context of how matriarchy (as in, women structurally oppressing men on the basis of gender in a way analogous to how men in patriarchy oppress women) has not yet come to existence in any part of human history. That isn’t to say that human matriarchy functionally cannot exist, for some biological or ontological reason—that’s not true, it could (and even possibly after current patriarchy, from the same world, if patriarchy has been completely defeated and a new war has been waged for rulership), but how it might possibly come to exist isn’t portrayed very realistically, so it fell flat to me.
The ending is confusing; while both gesturing that they’re going for compassion/equality now, with Kens no longer excluded like before, they also compare the position of the Kens to girlboss-types of today (under our patriarchy) and imply the Kens don’t even have this much rights yet? (And women still control the presidency, the Supreme Court…—there still is a presidency and Supreme Court. And a Barbie version of Mount Rushmore.) Is it pro or against girlboss “feminism”? It seems to attempt some critiques some of the time, but also upholds it.
Ultimately a key failing point of the narrative is that it attempts to preserve a structure of binary and oppositional gender/the idea of gender roles and gendered division, instead of challenging the idea that there should be any basis for political systems to be set along gendered lines. And until that’s properly tackled, these types of movies will be good—but not particularly radical.

I did not finish the dress, I only wore it as skirt.
I saw barbie movie finally! Therefore, belated review:
Comedy good (like so good, like- truly, I don't say this lightly).
Prop/set & costume departments seemingly had a lot of fun, love that for them
I have my usual broken record thoughts I have abt any woman/patriarchy-centred feminism & transmasc-excluding/-omitting trans inclusion (pls watch my matriarchy & other gender roles videos) (also not to nitpick, obv, cause they sure left themselves a lot of leway in terms of like lore lol but if feet shapes are different by gender/doll type.. and we have a trans barbie.. who seemingly has standard barbie feet shape too (and seemed just as unphasedly grossed out by another barbie having flat feet as the rest of them).......... I'm the teacher standing over you, dear cis ppl, where's your homework? You didn't think that hard about how trans ppl work, did you? Not that that wasn't clear from trans woman rep and neither nb nor transmasc rep as usual)
I appreciate the "men are just silly little guys at the end of the day" conclusion (not the worst of the above category for this, I will forgive the mostly reinforcing the matriarchal status quo of feminism for not demonising them as people) (edit: oh also! As someone who has looked through the men's lib section of my uni's academic library back in the day (one tiny shelf next to the several aisles of feminist lit btw) I call bs on the books Ken found in that school library, there is literally no way you'd find anything pro-patriarchy before you find smth criticising it/the male gender role from either side. But then again, maybe he doesn't even know how to read so----)
They sure had to tack on that vagina = ultimate sign of real adult human female bit at the literal last second there huh
Other nonbinaries: Alan tho, love Alan, relate to Alan. meanwhile me over here: *pushes Alan outta the way, fuck that guy* Ken men's lib yes. Fur. Tassles. Homosocial dance numbers instead of fighting. Also dress barbiecore to go see movie. I be Transmasc Barbie if they don't give me Transmasc Barbie. "Barbie can be anything", as long as that anything is woman smh story of my life, some girls grow up to not be women, where's our empowerment to be anything we set our mind to, feminists??? You promised me! Barbie promised me!
#barbie#barbie movie#barbie movie spoilers#I feel like I've had a lot of rambly posts recently#I swear I am not actually all that grumpy about most media I post about#like it was a decent movie#it was not disappointing#the last movie I got this invested in was in 2017 and we know how that ended#so this is a definitive upgrade!#no divorce from character or franchise in question this time!

I saw Barbie last Friday and here are my honest thoughts about it:
Pros
Visually STUNNING
Hilarious
Heartfelt at times
Good acting
The basic premise of Barbie Land and Real World existing together was cool
Cons
The plot is completely incoherent after a certain point in the movie. Barbie needs to go to the real world to save the girl playing with her. No wait, she needs to bring that girl to Barbieland to escape the evil executives! The executives want to put her "back in the box" for reasons unexplained. Oh wait, now Barbie needs to save Barbieland from the Kens! Now Barbie suddenly wants to become human even though that desire is NEVER brought up at any point in the film before the last 10 minutes. And then the movie just sort of... ends. Every plotline besides the Kens (the rift between worlds, the plans of the Mattel executives, Gloria's emotional state, etc.) is dropped with no resolution.
The subplot with America Ferrera and her daughter is severely underdeveloped. If you want to make a point about mothers and daughters (like the line from Handler to Barbie), maybe you should actually develop the mother-daughter relationship we see in the film? Both characters needed more development as individuals as well, particularly as America Ferrera's emotional/mental state is supposed to be the driving factor that forces Barbie into the human world. I will also say that as well-written and well-acted as Gloria and her daughter's big speeches about feminism were, they didn't feel like natural human dialogue at all.
The film's feminist politics are similarly muddy. America Ferrera's speech was well-acted and well-delivered, but it doesn't make sense HOW any of the Barbies would emotionally connect with it (besides our main Barbie, who has seen and experienced the human world). "Having it all" and looking hot while doing it is not and will never be a problem for Barbie dolls, so why would speeches about it snap them out of the brainwashing? Similarly, why would they have such a fear and disgust of cellulite, something they don't even experience, at the beginning of the movie if they don't know about patriarchy yet? Is the director trying to say that an inherently female trait is caring about this, doll or human?
Similarly, how did the brainwashing work? Because Ken said that the Barbies became docile, vapid servants for the Kens as soon as they learned about patriarchy which is... not a great message to send if you're writing female characters we should root for. Yes, real human women can behave in ways that contribute to our oppression (I am not exempt from this at all). However, we have thousands of years of patriarchy influencing that behavior. I'm sorry, but if matriarchy is all they know, the smart, competent Barbies are not going to suddenly buy into patriarchy just because Ken gave a presentation on it. Why would they suddenly start acting stupid to win the Kens' favor when prior to that, nobody cared about their boytoys' opinions?
What is Barbie's motivation to become human at the end? "Well, she feels like she has no place in Barbie Land as she doesn't have a role outside of being pretty" that's literally not a good enough explanation when "you can be who you want to be! Ken or Barbie, you can find yourself!" is the main message of the film before the ending. I felt like Ken and Barbie were given directly contradictory messages. Ken's was "you don't have to just be Barbie's boyfriend or a macho asshole! You can do anything!" and Barbie's was "Ah geez, you really CAN'T do anything since you don't have a pre-determined career role in Barbie Land. Yes, this directly contradicts America Ferrera's speech from earlier about the pressure on women to 'have it all.' Uhhhhhhhh become human I guess?" If Ken could find himself without having to leave his home in Barbie Land, why couldn't Barbie? I wish there had been more and clearer scenes of Barbie falling in love with being human to really connect the ending to the rest of the film.
Overall, I'd give it a B-. The film's visuals, humor, and acting have to work hard, but manage to balance a mediocre and confusing plot. I'd see it again as I quite enjoyed it and had fun watching it, but I definitely wouldn't count it as the greatest film of all time or a feminist masterpiece.
Before the "omg you're so mean!!! just turn off your brain!!! let people enjoy things!!!" comments, let me just say that any film which hypes itself up as a social commentary is not exempt from having its quality examined just because the director is female and it's marketed towards women.

Liberty Con Book Haul Review
This is the third book i have read that i got at Liberty Con.
Cap Kennady no 12: The Genetic Buccaneer (4/5 stars)
Pros:
A well written bit of Scifi.
A decent, straightforward plot.
A good balance between action and talking.
Well-rounded and interesting characters.
Stands well on it’s own despite being part of a series.
Very intense.
Good world-building
Cons:
Hoo boy, this book aged poorly!
I’m pretty sure the main villain is a racist Asian caricature.
The majority of the book takes place in on of those ‘Oppressive Matriarchies’ that used to be quite common in scifi/fantasy at one point where all the men are basically sex slaves.
Unsurprisingly in light of that, the sexism is . . . well, it’s certainly there. Ya can’t miss it.
I give this book 4 stars because while it is a badly aged product of its time (It was written in 1974) it wasn’t badly written. If i do read more in this series, i will do research to try and find some with a less . . .
plotline.
