I've been thinking again about Minkowski and Hera during the time when Eiffel was stranded on Lovelace's shuttle - about how Hera had gotten so used to monitoring Eiffel's wellbeing, and how Minkowski felt responsible for his safety, and how neither of them cope well with not knowing things they feel they ought to.
Perhaps one day Hera notices Minkowski reading the nutrition information on the back of the ration packs (the same kind as the ones that were on that shuttle). And Hera knows what Minkowski's doing, because she's been running the same calculations herself. Calories in one ration pack multiplied by number of ration packs on the shuttle, divide that by minimum calories required per day, add something on for the number of days survivable with no food at all...
Hera's got access to plenty of information about what the human body can survive, but there's too many variables here. How damaged is the shuttle? What's the temperature like? What's Eiffel's body weight? And there's too many horrible questions that Hera and Minkowski don't want to think about, and are unable to stop thinking about. How much will to live does Eiffel have? How long can a person hold onto hope in a situation like that?
Perhaps they each separately decide on an answer to their calculations, if only so they can pretend they know that he's currently still alive. But their mental countdowns tick down. And so maybe there comes a day when Hera glitches much more than usual. And maybe not long afterwards there comes a day when Minkowski can't seem to focus on anything at all. And maybe they talk about it, or maybe they don't. But either way, they both know that the other is thinking over the same question. And they are both hoping - more than anything - that the answer they've arrived at is incorrect. They are both hoping for an answer that seems impossible.

the nursery rhyme puzzles might be one of my favorite parts of game. They’re one of the aspects of Saga’s storyline that early on introduce the FBC and the theme of fiction with reality that would be an entire case for her, and later a major source of conflict. All the whimsical poems and dolls that are soon revealed to have direct correlation to Saga and her worries. Is it all a coincidence? Was the act of making this art already affected by Saga’s role and that’s why some of the rhymes are personal? It adds to the mystery that’ll likely never be fully answered, and makes Saga and the player uneasy.
Then, the final doll!—the father that looks like a certain talk show host in the dark place, holding his child. Specifically contained away from any other dolls and the witchfinder’s station, but never given a reason why. Of course, there’s a creepy poem repeated over the station paralleling Saga’s life, but I love that it speaks of the father, Door, keeping an eye on and trying to protect the hero, Saga.
Naturally, Campbell, the annoying FBC researcher, was listening in and wanted to see Saga face the consequences of opening a threshold and seeing what comes through the “doorway.” Only for him to die (?) instead. Such a classic mad scientist ending; It’s comically funny after the haunting mystery of the station. While it could simply be him being sent or consumed by the Dark Place, the chance that it could be Mr. Door watching Campbell try to sabotage his daughter and opening a door for Campbell to face whatever Horrors of the dark place is. so good. What a conclusion to what seemed like a fairly nonsensical puzzle side quest.

It’s possible to ruin a fictional man’s pussy AND do an intellectual deep dive into his character trauma. Words I tell myself as I struggle to write my smut before any character exploration.
Writing block is hell
-Githzerai anon
Why not just write the characters exploration before the smut? There are no rules man, it's your story.
If i struggle to write smut in a fic, then I just remove the smut. Even the most depraved of porns can have the most beautifully written character moments and exploration.
The drider Minthara fic that started out of an oviposition kink turned into one of my most emotionally invested and heavey world building fics. The smut scene was the least of my focus. I was more interested in describing the sussur tree and the documented history of the world.
It sounds silly but genuinely just write what's true to yourself and heart at the moment, even if it spirals off rails. I barel experience writing blocks now because I stopped applying the writing rules and structures to my work.
Kids never experience art block when they're happily colouring outside the lines, we are no different my dude.

This is my time to brainrot about something i made.
What if, by any chance, QSMP people became street racers. What if the eggs were like, their cars or some shit. What if Quackity formed a group of racers to try and win a cash prize of a really famous street race.
What if the Hermits were also in that race. What if the hermits are actually pretty good at this thing called racing. What if they think that the QSMP people were the ones who sabotaged them after their cars turn up completely destroyed.
What if my cubitos interact with my other cubitos and form an alliance to kick ass in the end.

Eyes on the Prize: America's Civil Rights Years/Bridge to Freedom 1965 (1987). A documentary about the American Civil Rights Movement from 1952 to 1965.
The amount of footage and access this compelling, nuanced and informative documentary has on the Civil Rights Movement in America makes it feel like essential viewing. Really, really good, and not afraid to explore the challenges and conflicts that arise in a group with the same ultimate goal but different contexts and ideas on how to get there. 8/10.

#my art#felix and nika bonding over having the worst organ in the human body(uterus)(i HATE that bitch)#sorry this is kinda dumb but. yeah..#REALISTICALLY i feel like net would be grossed out by a situation like this but i can draw what i want!!! heheheh#so hes cool and supportive. cause i think that would be neat#uhhhhh actually ive been thinkin about net recently..#okay so hear me out- transfem net.#like........ the casual misoginy and shit being a product of net's weird love-hate relationship with feminity???#they want and crave it but always saw being a girl as 'playing w/ barbie dolls' and 'not understanding technology' and they dont want THAT#but they want to be called pretty and wear a dress sometimes?#so he just kinda represses all those weird complicated feelings and tries his best to be manly and strong and#Not Like Those Stupid Girls who are beyond his comprehension#and then maybe felix comes out as a trans guy and net decides to do some research on trans ppl and#actually starts to realise they relate to these people??#and it takes a LOT of time and introspection but she figures it out. eventually.#and shes still Net! she still scoffs at romantic musicals and is terminally online and a teenage genius and a snarky bitch-#but she also doesnt have to prove her masculinity to anyone. she doesnt have to put girls down for being girls and she#starts to appriciate them as people and not prizes to be won by boys#i dont know if this makes any sense whatsoever but...... i like this idea! i like net realising casual sexism Is Not Funny Actually#i like nika helping her figure things out and try diffrent things and see feminity as something fun and exciting#like i dont think net would suddenly start wearing all pink or something! shes just. herself.#and that means watching horror movies and saving the world from an evil a.i. and movie nights at felixs and hating to admit when shes wrong#yeah. something to think about i guess.#fnin#felix net i nika#sorry this propably makes no sense lol

Today I learned about the Totally Kid Carousel in Harlem NY.
Artist Milo Mottola was inspired by the rush of winning an art contest as a child and wanted to give children in the community that feeling of pride and accomplishment in an even bigger way. Each child whose drawing was chosen for use in the carousel received a $50 savings bond (the Prize the artist won as a child) as well as free rides FOR LIFE!
