Captain Gill

With how much OG Chip’s design changes over the course of Riptide I thought it would be cool to do a more mid-campaign design of Gill. The scribbles on his arm are supposed to be lightning tattoos that would parallel chips water ones, they seem like a cool way that gill could show his oath to the open sea, inspired by Finn. Unsure if he would have a prosthetic pinkie but i added it for now until the details of what happens at each island is figured out. I hc that the ship they were on before the albatross would go from the Big Chipper to like Destiny’s Tide or smth like that.

I’m not the best at designing but wanted to have fun drawing a sinister little Caspian. Notable things are the feathers that Price had in his design is flowing water, which is actually also his water whip that he can magically summon the handle for. Also had him and Gill have matching scars across the nose because its fun 💥

Captain Ruben of the Navy

Kept his missing eye and thought the backstory behind it could change so that he lost it in some sort of fight, so the navy replaced it with a magical one and now he uses it as the main weapon in combat (it shoots beams n shit). Initially just drew him in a looser brain but maybe a bun would be more fitting since its more practical. (Far left image is him as a kid)

Origins headcanons

So obviously, in this swapped au Gill and Chip/Bellamy would meet first. Here, Bellamy works as a bartender and is curious about this trion that claims to have been on the same crew as Arlin, but not enough to answer honestly to any of Gill’s questions. So Gill tries to prove his worth by making Bellamy a drink that he hasn’t had before: a squirty! Thats what I thought of last night at least there could def be a cooler things for them to do,,

Jay having been brought up very isolated on Fetherbrook, she is not used to seeing people like Gill, so upon her first instinct she assumes he’s some sort of monster and shoots at him (to Chip’s amusement.)

I will surely draw more of this AU as it gets fleshed out but these are all my insane ramblings as of right now

Absolutely no shade to whoever’s said something like this because, like, speak your truth. But why do ppl say that the riptide men don’t dress slutty?????? Here’s a non-comprehensive list of riptide men with their tits out in official art: chip, la alma, price, earl, gryffon, jayson, marshal john. And niklaus and caspian got a lot of cleavage too. And then ichabod and jasmine both wear crop top sort of things. Where is the notion that the men aren’t dressed ridiculously too coming from?????? Everyone in mana who is of age is a slut (except for Gillion) and that’s beautiful.

The important follow up I do NOT have the energy to draw but would still like to elaborate:

Atticus (above) has his cell phone on call with Caspian who is vibing inside the restaurant and listening as this conversation happens. So Caspian goes outside and is like "I can't believe I'm not your favorite because of twenty dollars" to which Brent takes the offered money from Atticus and then promptly holds it out for Caspian. So he says "Would you make me dinner for $20 even though you're closed?"

And Caspian just looks at it with raised eyebrows and takes it saying "yeah, sure. Follow me, my favorite customer" and Atticus just O:< ???

So Brent follows Caspian inside saying a "thanks for dinner, Atticus. It's why you're my favorite cousin."

Poor Atticus just "You're abusing my desire to win you over and I hope you know this is an absolute betrayal by BOTH OF YOU" but neither Brent or Caspian acknowledge the comment.

Brent is just really good at managing his cousins and if that means playing dirty and taking one twin's money to give to the other twin, he'll do it.

Brent doesn't have a huge family. He in fact only has two cousins. Who are twins. And they're invested in making sure they're the favorite cousin since Brent's their favorite cousin (by default since he's their only cousin).

resources are limited and yet for some reason robin hood keeps around a man with 0 backstory, no fighting skills, who wears bright red when they're trying to sneak up on people and reacts to robin actually trying to save lives by looking like this:

all around him was the state of his troops being massacred, the same troops who swore to follow him to the very end and were now paying the price of his foolishness with their lives. they were heavily outnumbered and deep in enemy territory while more and more telmarines joined the battle from seemingly nowhere. the call to retreat has been made several times, but some narnians were dealing with as many as three soldiers at once and the wave of archers from above raining arrows on them all certainly wasn’t helping. they were being held back, and as much as peter wanted to stay and help as many escape as possible, there were too many and the brave minotaur giving his life to hold the gate open wasn’t going to be standing forever.

he could feel his heart beating up to his ears and the wind rushing past him as he rode his horse past the archway with several others, but it wasn’t loud enough for him to ignore the battle cries and the howls of pain of those who didn’t make it behind him slowly becoming distant. as soon as he managed to flee, the minotaur collapsed on the spot and the heavy iron gate crashed atop his body. there were so many who were still trapped, trying to climb the metal bars in a futile attempt while getting stabbed in the back while some others decided to kill as many of the enemy forces as possible until their dying breath. whatever they were doing, they were all yelling at their noble king to turn back around and get away before miraz could chase after him.

it was difficult to listen to them and tear his eyes away from the entrance of the castle, but it was even more difficult to resist the urge to cry as he got to a safer distance. he failed them, he failed them all. he didn’t dare to look at the survivors, keeping his head down in shame and disbelief. he was supposed to be a king, the fabled magnificent high king of old who once saved the land from the white witch, but it was time for him to look the truth in the face and admit that he was still the troublesome schoolboy from finchley who wasn’t fit to rule anymore, much less mythical beings who were threatened to being driven to extinction.

when he finally lifted his head to address the remaining few, he felt his heart now drop. “w-where is…?!” panic was setting in as his world started spinning. lucy was back at base, susan was right in front of him, edmund just flew in with the help of a griffin, but you weren’t anywhere to be found. he thought he was going to be sick, tightening his hands on the reins and ready to go speeding back, “they must still be in there…! i-i need to go back!”

“you can’t!” susan exclaimed, the centaur whose back she hopped earlier on was now blocking his way.

“i have to! they’ll die in there!” despite being one of the most proficient with swords (even more so than him) and one of the best fighters at his disposal, he never wanted you to endanger yourself in battle and now regrets not trying harder to convince you not to join them.

“peter, you need to stop and think! you don’t have any way to get back in there— even sneaking in wouldn’t work now that they are high-alert! you’ll just get yourself killed while we need you to lead us. besides, you know that if anyone can make it out alive, it’s them, and if they can’t, then you need to stay alive to avenge them!”

she was right, and he knew that he should be listening to her since he still has the narnians and his younger siblings to protect, but his mind was racing even faster than his heart was earlier. he doesn’t know how he’ll handle the grief if you don’t make it, not after the massive scare of assuming you were already gone while he was away from narnia just to find you frozen in time thanks to aslan’s magic. ever since then, he’s kept you as close to him as he could, but now he’s afraid that fate is continuously trying to rip you away from him.

he took a deep breath, trying to collect his thoughts and swallowing his fear to put on a brave facade in an effort to lift the spirits of his troops, telling everyone to head back to aslan’s how before they will figure out how to recover and their next plan of action. he didn’t follow them immediately, not wanting to see the likely spiteful look in their eyes and hear the possible gossip about how incompetent he is, and instead looked back at the telmarine castle. it was much quieter now and darker with the looming knowledge of death indirectly by his hand, but the faint sound of metal clashing against metal was enough to give him a glimmer of hope you were still alive.

and alive you were, swinging your sword like the battle just started! they just couldn’t seem to pin you down, tripping over each other as they tried to swarm you and arrows hitting their own men instead of you. there might have been even more deaths by friendly fire than there was from you, but you were only here to raise hell for them to avenge your fallen friends. if you were going to die behind these walls, then you were going to take down as many of them as possible with you! you didn’t really know if there were other narnians still alive or if it was only you, but it didn’t matter right now when you were putting all of your strength to defending yourself.

the general leaned over to catch the attention of his king who was focused on you, “that one might single-handedly wipe out everyone in the palace if we don’t intervene right now…”

miraz couldn’t help but smirk, what was a warrior like you doing serving the boy king of a lost cause? you would be much better suited in his own army, maybe as a captain or as a lieutenant. “indeed… capture them and bring them to me after a night in the dungeon, perhaps they would make a good ally with a bit of convincing…” too bad for him, your loyalties are to the high king peter pevensie the magnificent and none other. that single night that he foolishly allows you to spend in his prison will be more than enough time to break out and make your way back to camp.

Sharing my Fable Coffee Shop AU plot lines I had cause - let's be real - it's not getting written any time soon, partially due to time and motivation, but also I like to do my homework before I write something like this, so it was tricky to determine if some of the things that happen... were even a thing that *can* happen like this...

It wasn't all finished, some parts/arcs/characters obviously missing or not done but...

I believe I called it something like: "The Longer You Brew, The Bitter It Tastes"

• Fable owned a coffee shop (Gilded Cafe), but one of those super fancy, high priced ones, with over the top looking desserts and high name fancy brand ingredients.

• Rae and Icarus grew up together and grew to live the cafe. Icarus was meant to inherit it, but they wanted to pursue their own career in hospitality.

• Since Fable frequently left on buisness and was never really around, Rae stepped in to run the Gilded.

• Ven is one of the oldest working members there and sometimes went with Fable on his buisness trips, however it seems he hasn't been doing that recently and actually, not a lot of people have been in contact/heard from Fable.

• When Ominous Bane - I don't think I worked out a good coffee shop au equivalent of OB, but it was illegal either way - got caught, Icarus made bale though no one really knows who got them out/it was left anonymous almost instantly. Momboo had to call Kai with help to bail Easton out. Centross was left in holding the longest and Rae managed to get the money to get him out.

• Kai had moved into the area recently not only to help but to start her new business, The Sea Dragon.

• Centross ended up getting a job at The Sea Dragon, though when he applied he didn't know Kai was the owner and after an ear full of criticism and cursing out, she gave him a chance

• Athena and Jamie were saving up to open their own bakery (Flour Garden) and would leave sample sweets at other Cafes (Raes', Momboos', Icarus' etc) to see how they would do and promote their future buisness

• The Aax and Ulysses story was tricky to work into the AU, but I did have the idea of Aax coming to work for Rae at The Gilded.

• Ulysses tried to adopt Aax, but something went wrong and they were separated, only to be reunited years later.

• Caspian was The Pink Tulips (Momboos lil coffee shop) no. 1 customer until he started going to The Gilded to see Rae for their coffee

• I also didn't get around to developing Wolf much in the AU, but yes, he was a Starbucks manager

• Midas owned a nightclub (The World Port) near Icarus' Cafe and you bet they were petty rivals, even though their businesses were completely different and Icarus had oddly never even met the guy.

• When they finally met and spoke, it was odd. Midas liked them and would even talk about how good they were at what they did, but thought their talents were wasted on a, "little rented out shoebox, that seemed to hit one too many dead ends on occasions" Icarus did feel like they wanted to do something more, but they wouldn't admit it to them.

• Rae really wanted to start a Cafe in his own name and do his ideas with it. His boyfriends were obviously super supportive.

• One night, for giggles, Ghaae were spit-balling names for Raes potential new business and looking them up to make sure they weren't already taken. They tried "Morningstar Castle" and ot was taken. The owner was Isla.

- After heavy, long days and nights of consideration, Rae decided, yes, he wanted to meet her.

- When they get there though, they meet Enderien. After some heated discussions, Enderien explains that

(TW: for postpartum depression, and ideas of miscarriage)

- Isla had a terrible birth experience with Rae, she was stressed, overwhelmed and dealing with all of Fables shady bullshit. When she finally gave birth, something came over her and she was convinced she had lost the child.

- Not wanting to strain Isla anymore and not knowing if she (Enderien) was actually ready to raise these two kids, she sent Rae with his brother and they were raised by Fable.

- Eventually, Rae did get to introduce himself to Isla and they slowly explained what had happened.

• Icarus learns that Midas' buisness actually started with Fable. They were young and needed just a *little bit more help* and got a loan form Fable. Midas was now indebted to Fable and he never let them forget that. And with everything seeming to get mysteriously worse at every turn for The World Port, Midas was hanging by a thread.

• Fable managed to contact Icarus, saying he needed help with a "small favour". The favours were questionable, but Icarus wanted to help their dad.

• After finding out Icarus was in contact with Fable again, they got very upset. They broke out into a fight and in a flash moment, Midas ended shoving Icarus but they tripped back and landed on their back wrong.

• Enderien was able to shed light on the mysterious Fable situation. He was actually involved with several illegal schemes (including but not limited to: Money laundering and fraud) and had been gone for so long cause he had a sense someone was close on his trail to finding out what he had done.

• That person was Ven. Ven had realised what Fable was doing and ended up going to Enderien for help. Ultimately - with some gentle nudges in the right direction - Centross was also in on what was happening and they helped take Fable down.

• In the end, Isla and Enderien would go back to their cozy life - with of course, visits from her sons.

- Rae would refurbish the Gilded into "Wonder Cafe" and it would be a hit. Raes step-grandparents actually helped him get the buisness started

- The Flour Garden would be starting their first weeks of business

- With Fable gone, Icarus inherited/got access to *a lot* of money. They used it to buy The World Port.

- Midas was free from Fables terror and the stress of being a buisness owner. They still work at TWP and loves it. Icarus feels they found their place here. (Side note: I came up with this before the final, how tf is this more accurate than any theory I came up with!?)

So yeah, that's some plot I had! Hope you like it?

For some reason a weird dream has now cause me to think about delmont brothers owning a superstore. Probably because i work at the coop and im obsessed with Caspian, but anyhoo....

Caspian is in the bakery, fresh cinnamon swirls, pecan maple plaits, apple crowns, doughnuts, bread... You name it, daily. You'll see him early doors carefully putting it all out in the stand. Making sure there are no pesky fruit flies around to keep everything nice and tidy, the bakery is always spotless, any extras left in the freezers for the next day, all dates carefully placed on too, will help with customers sometimes too, old ladies actually love him, some come in more than once a day if they see he's on a checkout. Pros of this for him is he finishes work at 2pm, meaning he has all afternoon and night to lavish his darling with love.

Gabe is pro shelve stocker, he's always on the store floor. Date checking stock, restocking, takes in the deliveries for later at night as Caspian does the early morning ones, reduces everything that's close to going out of date, he's often found helping the older ladies get things from the top shelves, will happily work late into the night, as waking up early is not his thing at all, plus, lazy morning cuddles with his darling? Sign him the fuck up.

Ricky deals with the managment side, plus he's go to person if a customer gets rude and Manny can't handle it, will happily tell people to get to fuck, you want to speak to a manager huh? Bitch he is the manager. He's the one to call for what stock needs to be delivered, takes inventory, deals with the cash office to make sure the tills have plenty of change, though if he's not in Caspian will make sure the tills have change, just general deals with the boring bit, but he's really good at it, and looks good doing it too

Marcos will happily sit on a till most days, as with his twin, especially watching self checkout zone. The chaos of customer stupidity is just chef kiss, watching the machine constantly scream because the customer is leaning on it, and then watching said customer blame the machine, funny stuff. If there is one thing he loves most though. Its getting to put the little stickers on the reductions so Gabe can put them on the appropriate shelf. Sets himself little personal goals to see how quickly he can reduce it all in price. More of a morning person as he loves spending the night with his darling, also means he can go party at night

Manny is also tills guy, also loves watching the chaos of self checkouts. Absolutely adores arrogant customers, theres nothing he loves more than putting them in their place, its only when he really can't handle it that Ricky will be called down. Will happily chase down theiving customers without a shadow of a doubt, they won't escape without paying what is due, the man works night though, not a morning person by any means, you every worked on a hangover? Its a no go for manny.

The brothers all wear headsets for both convenience sake, and also, if a rat turns up... Well i suppose they'll need to make a bit of space in the warehouse, no other customers will hear them there. Plus, manny and Marcos will gossip about customers while on shift together over the headsets too, both a distaction and entertainment for the other brothers as they work.

Basira Hussein - I don’t have a specific actress in mind for her but she has a gorgeous round face dark pools for eyes and full lips. Idk if Basira wears a hijab all the time, I don’t think I have the right to headcanon one way or another, but if she isn’t wearing it she has curly black hair.

Elias Bouchard - Hear me out, I imagined him before I knew he was evil and hot. By the time I realized, it was too late for my brain to reliably change him. He’s a remolded memory of Uncle Jack in It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia only a little younger and with a Vincent Price pencil mustache and a very nice suit. I won’t add a picture of the actor because it’s not exactly him.

Michael - Bill Skarsgard

It’s probably a gimme since he plays so many weird little guys but he’s beautiful and creepy at the same time and I like to imagine him with the long ringlets.

caspian: ough he is SOO gender to begin with. i like to think of him as like a big clusterfuck of gender sillies,, specifically like. non-binary/gender-fluid/transfem/demiboy. they use he/they/ae pronouns to me

i think a silly thing about them is that he is a traitor is very throwable. like ae just kinda rag dolls, wiwi style, but in a much more agile way. during the paramount championship, he and john actually attacked via john straight up throwing them and him using that momentum for an attack.

jay ferin: YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOING ASKING ME ABOUT HER FAMILY AND HER ANGER RAGHHH

the ferin family’s known for their iconic orange hair. jayson ferin has very straight, vibrant hair. mae ferin, who married into the family, has brown hair, but it’s very curly.

so, building off this hc, i like to think ava ferin had the same fiery hair as her father, and that it was also straight. jay still has the iconic hair color of the ferins, but her hair is very curly, representing the remaining love she still has for her family/legacy, but also showing how she does not exactly fit the mold of the ferin name.

i think jay has a lot of pent up anger she doesn’t let go of, and so oftentimes there’s nowhere else for it to go but inward. of course, she’s found healthier ways of managing it but it’s still there. i think she’s always been angry at herself, most of all. i think grief manifests in anger for her,, like anger is the strongest stage of grief she goes through (where for chip it’s bargaining and for gillion it’s denial)

-chip has very dark eyes, the kind that always reflects a lot of starlight (coming from a guy who always compares fnc to the sky and the sea)

-gill’s hair is veeeeery long. i hc that in the undersea, one only cuts their hair as a sign of failure/after they have lost a battle. he nearly cut it after ep 53 but jay convinced him not to. he’s stopped cutting it since then

worst thing that happened to them:

-chip: i mean you could obviously go straight ahead and say it was the events of the hole in the sea/sinking of the black rose, but honestly i think it was the aftermath. i think it was about having grown up as nothing, then finding stability for only a couple years just to be tossed back into a turbulent life of bared teeth and stealing and violence. i think that his relationship with price is a really good instrument for showing that.

-jay: similar thing here— i don’t think it was just the fact that ava died that hurt her, but the fact that nobody seemed to fucking care, not in any way that mattered. of course they all grieved ava, but her father was never around for jay when she needed him most. i think it was growing up without ava and with a shattered family that hurt her the most.

-gill: changing tempo here. i think that when he was banished (one of if not the worst thing to happen to him) his hair was cut very short— like up to his ears. the first time chip and jay ever saw him was with such short hair, and he probably felt somewhat ashamed being seen like that.
