"don't make it political!" .... what proportion of death and suffering must occur before politics are involved. if this isn't political, what is even the point of any politics, ever. of democracy. the words are "by the people for the people." if i am going to be left alone by my elected representatives to "figure it out" - to undergo damage, hardship, fear. what the fuck did i elect them for. what was their job. the entire point is that they handle this shit. this is why we were supposed to be electing leaders.

poverty is political. misogyny is political. gun control is political. climate change is political. how much aid a community gets is political. what the fuck are you talking about. it's been political this whole fucking time.

So, I'm one of those weirdos who finds heat more beneficial for relieving migraine pain than ice, and I've just realized I was in so much pain yesterday that I burned myself and didn't notice.

Thought I still had a migraine and that's why my forehead hurt. Nope. It's a burn from where I was grinding the heat pack into my skull to try and relieve the pain. My fingertips are burned, too.

But god forbid the pain clinic prescribe me anything stronger than Tylenol and Asprin because, apparently, this is a better scenario than giving me opioids, aka, the only pain relief that actually works for me.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ordered government scientists to withdraw or pause the publication of all papers set to appear in medical or scientific journals so the Trump administration can review the material for “forbidden terms” such as “gender,” “LGBT” or “pregnant person,” according to a shocking new report. Inside Medicine, a Substack published by Dr. Jeremy Faust, obtained an email the CDC’s chief science officer sent to researchers instructing them to stop the advancement of manuscripts that are currently being revised or those that have already been accepted for publication. Researchers were told to remove any mention or reference to a list of terms. That list includes “gender, transgender, pregnant person, pregnant people, LGBT, transsexual, non-binary, nonbinary, assigned male at birth, assigned female at birth, biologically male, biologically female,” Inside Medicine, citing the email, reported. The order applies to any paper authored or co-authored by a CDC scientist. Reuters added that if any scientists are co-authors on a paper with outside researchers, they must remove their names from the manuscripts.

The censorship at the CDC under 47 has begun.

One thing ive found as an outside observer is that when some people say "abortion should be illegal" they mean "the state should take action to prevent the death, suffering, and murder of children", but when other people say "abortion should be illegal" they mean "women should be subservient to men" or "a woman's only purpose is to make babies" or even "America should be a theocracy", and a lot of the time, people don't distinguish between the two.

Heartbreaking to think about how many women will miscarry or do at home abortions and then die in the following year because they didn't feel like they could tell their doctor about it, so their doctor didn't know to be looking out for the warning signs of impending maternal death
