4 years ago when the dumbfuck (biden) won, i was a first year university student, nodding along solemnly when my family briefly discussed foreign and internal politics over our tea, pleased to be finally old enough to somewhat contribute to adult conversations.
i still clearly remember my aunt saying "well, he isnt any better [than his predecessor] but at least he cant be worse". the conversation moved on from there, but my thoughts lingered. i didnt know if i wanted to be a cynic or an optimist, so i drank my tea in silence.
--
this past year has been one of the darkest in our human history, the scale of death and destruction and pure unadulterated depravity is unmatched. it will truly be long before the world can hope to recover from the atrocious damage that has been dealt, if it ever does.
i wont go into details mainly because i havent the time nor interest in doing so, but the world to no ones surprise is changing, fast and taking a turn for the worse. it has been for years perhaps even decades now. in the grand scheme of things i mean.
for many of us this is nothing new per se, merely a tangible extension of our worst nightmares and fears, but for many others its a reign of terror of the most potent kind. one that will herald further losses, but this time around very few will be spared.
--
despite myself i did think that common sense would prevail and wed see the the fucker (trump) behind bars and hopefully dead and not- as of writing- about to win another 4 wretched years in office.
theres a sort of grim satisfaction seeing the bitch (harris) getting a big fuck you to the face, but its devastating to think that she is losing has already lost? to the biggest fuck you to the planet. i truly dont want to imagine what the world is going to look like 4 years from now. if there is anything left of the world to look at.
--
there isnt much to say or add i think. nothing i can contribute at least for the time being. i would however like to point to what jon stewart bless his soul has to say about the matter
youtube
esp at 02:15
sounds hypocritical to say after having said nothing but the worst, but i mean it when i believe that this isnt the end. to give up now is to doom ourselves and the rest of the world (and perhaps the trajectory of humanity itself, whos to say) into eternal darkness.
ive said it many a time on this blog before and ill continue to say it for as long as there is life in me; power will always be with the people. weve seen it time and time again throught history and before our eyes. we are a force to be reckoned with.
we do hold the power to change the tides, look how many countries fought with everything they had for their freedom, how many times we arose from the ruins and started building anew and with just as much fervour, how much damage we can do to the institutions that dare to transgress.
war brings out the worst in some but the best in others. this is a war, one the corrupt wage on the sanctity of our lives and human rights, one were all on the front lines of, for ourselves and those around us.
--
as cliche as it is, and i admit to it being so, our chances honestly are better when we move and act as one. dont be fooled into thinking our differences will seperate us; those in power follow the age old rule of divide and conquer & thrive when we are scattered and lost.
show them that our spirit is one and whole, prove to them that we wont give into their unjust demands. look out for one another and dont hesitate to come to each others aid. be kind to yourselves.
humanity as a whole literally and metaphorically depends on it.
Godbless & Godspeed

k you asked for unpopular f1 opinions and idk if this even counts but i Do Not Like lando norris. i actively dislike him, actually. couldn't really tell you why, he's just really annoying. and that move with the fist pump during max's anthem at the canadian gp? not fucking cool. i also hate when people say shit like "omg he's so public school core" or "idk he just feels more authentic than the rest of them (drivers)" because most people didn't know he had money growing up. his dad is like a fucking billionaire (millionaire?) CEO like shut up. i just feel like he can't possibly be as nice as people think. also his win in miami had distinctly Weird Vibes. not necessarily bad, just Wrong. should not have happened. also that thing where he said "trump is someone you gotta have a lot of respect for" like no??? he's not??? he's a conservative right wing politician who was found guilty on all 34 counts in his hush money case. he's a white-collar criminal (the worst kind). he deserves no respect. shut up. it would be better to just not say anything at all. yeah.
I have had SO MANY asks on lando, but i shall keep responding😤.
No1. All the shit Lando has done. Ugh, dont even get me started on it, im just gonna link my old post bc im so done talking abt it.
No2. I don't hate lando, I'm not a lando 'hater', bc I feel like you can't really hate a person you have never met and don't know on a personal level. However, I do feel very strongly abt some of his actions, and I do think he should take accountability for shit he's done. Personally, I just don't like him that much, and so I stay away from his content and fans. If I see smthng funny he's done or see content abt him that I enjoy then I laugh and appreciate it, but recently he's just been irritating towards my beliefs and values, so I'm keeping my distance.
No3. I just wanna say, very gently, even if you dislike a driver, you shouldn't discredit their wins/ accomplishments bc in the end thats smthng they've earned, and it's literally their job, like for me, when I saw miami, I thought "good for him" and moved on. I did get really pissed abt his comments on trump tho, man really went and stained his first race win with all that shit.
No4. Ur point on the way ppl say, 'he's more authentic than the rest of the drivers'. Honestly, I've seen so many ppl have this opinion, and all I'm gonna say is: Every driver has a different pr strategy. Lando's whole strategy is being perceived as 'relateable' and 'quirky', and, by the looks of it, it's working really well. Obv we – as fans – will never know if he's genuinely like this in person or if it is just fully pr (same with all the other drivers), but from what's provided to us we're all free to make our own assumptions :]
I just feel like he can't possibly as nice as people think
I think, nonnie (and this is meant in the kindest way possible), assumptions like these are smthng we should avoid making. You don't know lando, and I don't know lando, so really we'll never know if he's truly as nice or not, and we shouldn't say stuff like this about ppl who've never actually done anything to be precieved that way. Like yes, we can talk abt how lando is ignorant and the type to either: 1. Not think bfr he speaks/ does smthng or 2. Has really bad political views and questionable morals (and if this option is fully confirmed, i will become a full hater, doesn't matter if hes nice or not). But what has he ever done that shows us he's not kind/ nice to his fans?

Im really pissed about all those “‘We can still be friends-‘ no the fuck we can’t” posts because on the very clear and obvious hand, Trump is a fascist and anyone who understands economics, checks and balances and international relationships know that he’ll be a disaster.
But, at the same time, the past few months of honestly celebrating that the Harris campaign did after the first few weeks and especially after the debate (Im just as guilty of it - i was predicting a clear Harris landslide, i had her winning fucking Texas) but we need to do an autopsy of the Harris campaign. I want to preface this by saying it isnt a dealbreaker for me - in spite of the many deficits I think the Harris-Walz ticket - because I voted for her. I knocked on doors for her. But clearly, for a lot of people, dealbreakers that shouldn’t and easily couldn’t have been there were, and if we don’t acknowledge that, we’re never going to win.
So here is my critique of Kamala’s campaign, from the left.
The biggest complaint would be the lack of drilling in on hard issues. We are having a crisis of living in this country, and the primary message of the Harris campaign was “Hey, we’re on the road to recovery and it’s just gonna get better!” So make it a major part of your campaign you want to control prices, rent, etc. As terrible and blatantly obvious as his pr moves were, Trump at McDonalds and in front of a Grocery story was compelling to a lot of americans who are struggling to put food on their plate. A guy who’s saying, in the most fascist strong man way he can, “Only I can fix it.” And when the other guy is saying “Dont worry im working on it,” to the scared and uninformed Trump looks better - obviously any substantive reading of policy makes it clear who’s policies will be better. I Know that - but were there sound bites that could be played ad nausem of Kamala’s policies? As poor of a Businessman he is, Trump is a Salesmen, and Salesmen manipulate, lie and hoodwink people.
What was Kamala’s actual solution to the Border? I know even needing a ‘solution’ is couched in liberalism legalese but instead of a concrete campaign promise, she would rightfully say “Hey, Trump’s plan is insane and he sabotaged mine.” I know that’s true, but why not make that part of your campaign instead of allowing him to manipulate control of the situation. Did any democrat in congress try to reintroduce that bill? If so; why the hell wasn’t that blasting on Fox News and NPR? Don’t make Trump defend his past killing of the hill, make him say “are you going to support this democratic bill that your people like?” Did she say “we’re going to crackdown on losses of jobs to low-wage migrants (by giving them the same protections as American citizen workers because then it isnt just cheaper to nickel and dime the undocumented workers)” or did she just keep playing that former hit? Because while I heard “Ethnic cleansing” a lot of working class people who have lost their jobs to this labor (and dont blame the people responsible, their corporate overlords) heard “More open jobs” and that was enough for them.
Hands down, across the boars, the Democratic messaging on economics was either spotty or non existent and no matter how short sided or bigotted their choice was - Trump got more voters then Kamala in pretty much all demographics. This is not a thing where we can narrow it down to different socieo-ecconomic groups and ask why they didn’t come to the polls for Harris - we need to look at the messaging that, in some diabolical miracle, lead to a Trump victory.
Look; I’m not going to pretend to have all the answers. Honestly, we should’ve had a primary and Joe should’ve dropped out in 2023. But he didn’t, and instead with have yet another example about the Democrats schoochimg towards the middle, ignoring so many problems and allowing the dumbass to Scapegoat his enemies for a victory instead of delving to the root of our political issues - the absolute financial stranglehold the top 1%, made mostly of old white men but this is a war of Capital. And its one that most Americans have no idea they’ve been drafted into, most often on the side of Capital
Oh - and Gaza. The lack of firm answer there is immoral even if openly opposing Israel is political suicide in our current climate. Doesn’t matter, her silence is a condemnation on her - infinitely better then Trump
#politics#drunk ramblings#drowning my rage#legit tho dont stop fighting#im taking a semester off of college - ostensibly for more phd research - actually to get involved in politics#Sign up for political action groups#pacs#fucking whatever you have to#but if you just fucking doomscroll then so help me god…

No one really wants to talk about election stuff much I'm sure but I do think if you're going to claim voting for one candidate over another you do you diligence and actually look at what someone's done while in office. If you're serious about your political action, feel free to read further. Keep in mind I am not American, but unfortunately the entire world is affected by American politics.
I saw a post recently saying "hey I know everyone's saying theres no difference between parties at this point but its so important you vote for the lesser evil because of workers rights and environmentalism and gaza(because the other guy is worse!)" when if they had actually looked at what the person they insist is a champion of those things has done on those fronts I think they wouldn't be saying so (though for gaza they at least dont say he is doing well on that front, thank you for that at least , bad liberal politics post).
I don't like being a downer, and I don't like the idea of spreading nihilistic hopelessness, but if you shout from the rooftops a candidate or a party is doing wonders in these areas and they actually are not, that's misinformation. That helps no one.
Honestly the way certain people get complacent when they vote in the "good" party worries me greatly. "As long as I vote in these guys, everything will be done right! I can stop worrying and stop paying attention." And then those guys are doing the exact same stuff, but with polite language on top to hide the crime of it.
"I believe in workers' rights" as you quash a rail strike that is the difference between rail safety both for employees and communities near the tracks kind of thing.
Not like there was an environmental crisis over that recently? Oh but they paid a 15 million dollar fine (a company worth 48.87 billion, so a tiny fee to continue to criminally understaff trains overwork operators, and pay them nothing).
"Its a great tragedy what is happened in Gaza" as you bypass congress to send more weapons to Isreal. And to say Trump wants to nuke Gaza? He probably has said so, he won't because Isreal wants to keep the land habitable so they can have all of it. There is no "worse" here. The guy in power already signed carte blanche for Isreal to kill every Palestinian. If we can't reach Biden on this issue, it doesn't matter we can't reach Trump. In this instance specifically, there is no difference, If you're pretending Nukes are an actual option you clearly do not understand what is happening in this situation at all. This is fucking horrible and I feel like throwing myself out a window over the fact nearly every western superpower is supporting this genocide, but to state "oh, the other guy would do genocide HARDER" there isn't harder here. The most you can argue is "he will also do the same shit". Thanks, we know (also I will continue to do all I can to help Palestinians be it protest, mutual aid funds, donation drives, and vocal unerring support because I'm sure the people perpetuating this genocide would love if people against them did throw themselves out windows).
I wish people were more honest about their motivations here. And especially more honest about the fact they have zero idea on things the party they decided are the "good ones" are actually doing. It makes me feel like someone could tell you "I'm a good person" while spitting in your face and you'd look up wondering why it's raining.
Do I want Trump to win the election? Not at all. All he does is lie and self aggrandize and do whatever the fuck makes him the most money.
The thing is Biden and his party /also/ do all they can to protect the financial interests of their lobbyist backers, often backed by billion dollar corporate interests, this has been made even more legal by SCOTUS recently.
and of course whenever SCOTUS comes up people point to how trump elected these justices doing all this, while also ignoring: Obama had a supermajority while first in office and promised to codify Roe vs Wade into law to enshrine abortion rights and did not.
Why? Well. The only way that really seems to make sense seems to be 1) they didn't really want to enshrine abortion rights or 2) they wanted to keep dangling it just out of reach so you keep voting for them. after all, if they permanently protect women's rights, how can they send you fundraising emails about how women's rights are in question?
The Supreme Court should honestly have been reformed by now anyway, but neither of the parties that rule the United States will ever address it's issues. You basically have a council of sages who take gifts from billionaires running your ultimate law deciding station of government, and no matter what you do you can't fire them. And they are now making policy decisions that say specifically "you can't do anything about us being bribed" and "The president has total immunity while in office". Yet the party in power does nothing about it,
as for that second one you could argue not taking action on rulings they think are wrong proves they are better than the opposition, but saying something is wrong while doing nothing to rectify it says something else to me. It tells me they now have a great new way to fundraise and encourage you to vote.
"Vote for us, or Trump will literally assassinate you! Don't worry I won't though! But I'm not going to do a single thing to repeal it, my hands are tied haha. You wouldn't want the other guy to have this power though? Right? Again, no, I won't do anything to stop this."
>In before a liberal democrat tells me pointing this out is as bad as a vote for trump and asking for anything from a government is treason(I'm not American so good luck bud). Because we all need to sit around and nod politely as the world collapses, after all if people saw the corruption they might (gasp!) not vote! and then the same shit would happen faster.
Though, tbh, and I feel like shit saying this, at least if it was happening under the Republicans you would actually be paying attention and maybe the Democrats would actually be pushing back to at least look like they give a fuck (ineffectually, but it would be cool if you could point to a thing they've done in office effectually to contrast any of this other than say the right words. Actions actually matter).
I don't want things to come to that but as the public stands around doing nothing in the face of these abuses of power, war crimes, and dissolution of worker' rights and the party in power only campaigns off fear and does no positive things to gain votes... what other outcome will there be?
... and even if they did say they were going to do something good now... how could we believe it would actually happen?
#personal thoughts about politics#if you're prone to going off half cocked of you read negative press about liberal politicians you should maybe skip this but also#it might be good for you to read?#in any case everyone knows shits fucked#I tried to be short here btw#theres a whole lot of other stuff too#oops im a leftist and I think no politician is above reproach

honestly i dont see another way around it, trump is going to win in 2024 and america will become even more of a fascist state than it already is. this isn't a post yammering at people to vote for biden, not at all, just an observation. i don't think biden will have enough support to win anyway because of how much other shit he's done the past two years. and i don't want him to succeed either. but i'm absolutely sure that we all need to be preparing ourselves for the inevitable come 2024, because i don't see a socialist revolution happening in the meantime. the far right has been mobilizing, they know what they're doing. biden is a horrible person who has committed atrocious war crimes, but i hate to say it, he's just another in the long line of us presidents that has wreaked havoc and killed thousands in the global south, a line of presidents who at least pretend they have respect for democracy. trump doesn't, and his lack of playing the game will take him and his ilk farther into unmasked fascism. i think people who are feeling fatigue over the "go vote" thing (rightfully so) need to be aware of that. if you're not gonna vote, that's fine, this post isn't about that, but you do need to be ready for what the trump administration will do because it's not just gonna be the same shit as the past six years, jan 6 was only a precursor

Anon providing context with state ballots again. Frankly, I do not consider voting to be a “moral” thing so much as I consider it to be a pragmatic thing. Biden is absolutely horrific on Palestine and I wrote in “uncommitted” during the primary as a protest myself because of it. However, I am someone who both believes that the tiny degrees of less bad do definitely matter and based on Trump’s comments (including comments he made where he advocated for nuking Gaza) I am confident that he would be significantly worse if you can imagine it. Biden is also markedly better on labor, social policies, and the environment and as a working class millennial lesbian who will have to live on this planet for several more decades that is very significant to me. However, I think the most important thing I can say regarding this election is that I can not in good conscience drop out of the political system entirely because one of those guys is going to be in office come January unless the revolution comes before then and… honestly all of the people who are big talk about that are huge larpers so I absolutely have my doubts here. May as well be the marginally less bad one who doesn’t have explicit dictatorial aspirations.
hmm yeah i just dont know if i think theyre any different. theres some areas where i do think there may be a difference like perhaps if trump came back into power then he might outlaw gay marriage for example but i havent seen evidence of biden being better with social policies or on labour or women's rights or most things rly and i find trump's talk and biden's actions irt israel/palestine to be equally disturbing & therefore i find it hard to argue one would be significantly worse in that regard. ill repeat again bc i dont want this to be misconstrued that ultimately i am powerless to who americans vote for and what they choose to do about their country's corrupt system but i do find the american mindset around it to be disturbing especially how every election theres this pressuring of people to choose between two awful choices bc otherwise theyre ~throwing away their vote~ or ~helping [presumed worse choice] win~ and thus discouraging anything that does not further enable this system. like when people were writing in the "uncommitted" thing during the primaries there were already people arguing that u have to choose biden there bc otherwise ur giving ur vote to trump. and after seeing this cycle repeat over and over again for as long as ive been old enough to understand US politics at least to a decent enough degree (which isnt that long), it just feels exhausting as an onlooker seeing the only people who actually CAN do sth about their govt throw their hands up and say they cant do anything.
#i do think ultimately the longer americans accept 'well we just have to vote for the less bad one' the more both these parties will#go further and further right and fail to represent a huge portion of the voting population#bc they know that voting population can be kept as long as they get threats of 'the other party will harm u more!!!!!!'#i disagree who u vote for has no morality to it tho but maybe thats just me#maybe im just an idealist ultimately but i think nothing will change unless americans at least first discard this helpless mindset

jesus god lordt help me
istg …. i was recently at a small party for one of my elders who just turned 82! and it was a nice time and everything (yes, we were all masked up & vaxxed up), and somehow - pls don’t ask me how - the subject of cleaning your ears came up (im almost 40 and i was one of the youngest people there, so the conversations are what they were)
anyway, all of my elders strongly believe in cleaning your ears by inserting a q-tip and violently digging around
WHICH IS FUCKING NUTS TO ME
and inevitably my elders end up spouting some old debunked advertising campaign made specifically to sell q-tips, and whenever i point this out, they fall back on “old skool” remedies that us young folk dont know nothing about
and internally im fucking screaming, “do you think maybe the fact that your hearing is falling off so precipitously has ANYTHING to do with the fact that youve spent decades digging around in your eardrum like its a fucking goldmine?? maybe? perhaps???”
sn: i honestly believe its mostly a black thing
but yeah, silly me
one thing i learned a while back is, 1) emotions and nostalgia will almost always trump being right, and 2) it is not your job to embarrass or beat someone down by smugly telling them theyre dumb and stupid
in the grand scheme of things, this is small. its maybe a 2 on a scale of 10. inconsequential
but my constant lesson im learning and re-learning is that sometimes its more important to let others come to their own decisions about things, and always always always be willing to accept that they might never come around
if they are someone you love, you wont belittle them. not even when youre right and theyre wrong. no matter how annoyed you might be. being “right” isnt always the most important thing. it just isnt. not always
and being right doesnt always win arguments and it doesnt always change peoples minds and opinions
if the person is someone you care about, what might change their mind is not mocking or belittling them, and just being there for them even when theyre not quite correct on the little things in life

Hi, i hope you dont mind me asking but..
What exactly is going on in America? A few of the blogs i follow (including you) has mentioned about it and im honestly curious. From what i got from a quick google, that man has been elected again (which honestly makes me bitter, doesnt help that my IRL friend is a supporter of him) but i dont think that’s the whole reason for everyone being upset. So again, if you dont mind me asking, what’s the whole story?
If you dont feel comfortable replying, that’s fine. This is your blog and i never want to do anything to ruin it. Just delete this ask and we can forget about it. I’ll probably try to find out more through more googling but.. idk which will be true or fake. We’ll see tbh (this is also why im making this ask, i trust you and i know you wont lie about stuff like this)
I normally dont care about polictics. They make me feel uncomfortable with the blatant corruption that exists. I live in Asia where people more or less trust the goverment, so with that man being elected, i feel this might bring a huge change and not a good one. So i feel this is something i should brace myself for whatever is gonna happened
Again, if you dont feel comfortable, delete this ask. Do not feel pressured to answer this if you do not feel comfortable. I hope you have a good day/night and take care

Hello there Flower Anon!!
Don't worry, I don't mind your ask, as this is an important topic for everyone, not only Americans. But the main issue is definitely trumps reelection, which comes with a ton of problems. I'd definitely go through the US election tag on tumblr for more info, but the main issue is women losing many of their rights, including a ton of economic issues that Trump is clearly going to make worse.
It's very complicated, and I definitely understand the fear of fake news, but in general, America's problem definitely is currently Trump being back. This will, however, also affect us all one way or another due to America's strong influence globally and in the NATO, so only time will tell how bad it's going to be...
The rise of right-wing media and, in general, people is also highly concerning. Trump's win will be a spark of motivation for them, and so the terror is very much justified. With that said, if I may give my opinion on this, I'd suggest dropping your friend if they acknowledge all of these issues yet don't care.
I'm glad you're interested in the topic, though, and as said before, I'd suggest looking at what Americans have to say on this topic, especially regarding abortion and LGBTQ+ rights in the nation that are at threat.
As mentioned before, I strongly avoid politics on this blog, as my blog is for my writing only, nothing else. But since this is extremely concerning in general for all of us, I don't mind your ask at all!
Thank you for your ask, and I hope I could somewhat help you understand the ongoing issue!<3

So I just wanna say orange man is falling out of the news despite surely hogging the limelight at the RNC as a Van Gogh cosplayer, and Im actually kinda terrified to see what hes gonna do next. Dont get me wrong, Biden dropping out is only good for dems since basically everyone knows he's a limp noodle, and honestly this decision makes me respect him at least a little bit, but what is Trump gonna do to get attention now? We had literally Y2K one-up his entire week, and he's known to incite insurrections for attention.
My money's on making every sexist comment he can to disparage his new rival, getting Musk to announce something stupid like "if Trump wins I'll do the fortnite dance on the moon", and probably a SCOTUS judge randomly vacating or dying.

honestly i wanna give a big fuck you to all the queer people i know htat keep making jokes htat "trump is gonna win in 2024" and whatnot. I am TIRED of hearing it. I know it's looking that way and y'all can feel some comfort (??? what the fuck do y'all even get out of it) in making those jokes but as a trans person with basically nothing to their name i am fucking horrified. if he comes to power, it's fucking over for me. the pipeline to losing hormones and literally everything is very real and on the horizon. y'all can still go the fuck home and live your life and have your familial support and be fucking fine. you and your fucking money and relatively loving family. but i dont have anywhere to fucking go.
keep talking like that and he'll actually win. And you can sit on your ass and be sad but i'mma be mad as hell. go vote (OR DO LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE THAT'S USEFUL) and/or shut the fuck up.

hey, just read your bio in full and im confused and was wondering if i could ask you something
what exactly do you mean by "monarchist sympathizer"? i gathered that you support the monarchy but i just have a hard time wrapping my head around it, could you elaborate on why you believe in the autocracy?
im swedish, my countrys king is a figure head so he does nothing and has zero say in how the country is run and i honestly find his continued tenure as monarch to be unnecessary seeing as he doesn't actually serve as ruler. but i dont know much about it though and i'd like to hear your perspective if you're willing to share
In short, I believe it is the most effective form of government. One person at the top says, “hey, we’re going to do this like this and we’re going to do it now.” And it gets done. Now, obviously like with any government body, there can be issues like corruption, incompetency, and other rather not helpful behaviors… which sounds just like how the American government is ran right now and we’re a so called “democratic republic”.
Much like… I believe it was Plato? Or it was perhaps Aristotle, that said, essentially, the common person does not have time to be educated on the issues because we’re busy working, keeping the economy going, and do not have enough free time to devote and spend to learning about the issues and how best to solve them. So, if we aren’t educated enough on the issues at hand why are we voting on issues we haven’t really had the time to dedicate to become educated about? So, we elect people we think do have that ability and competency to be educated… but we aren’t educated… and so we get people like Marjorie Taylor Green in our congress who, honest to God, believed GIANT JEWISH SPACE LASERS caused wildfires in California. I wish I could have made that sentence up.
He also said that the qualities needed to win a popularity contest, what an election is essentially, are not the same qualities that make a good leader. So, why vote when we are really just voting based on that? It’s why people like Trump get in… somehow.
I’ve read about the Swedish monarchy a little bit, I believe it was Gustav VI Adolf that signed away the last of the monarchy’s powers right before he died… which was an unfortunate and interesting choice to say the least. His maternal grandmother was Princess Louise of Prussia, she was the daughter of the first German emperor Wilhelm I, whose own mother was Princess Louise of Mecklenberg-Strelitz, and was a woman that Napoleon himself called “the only real man in Prussia.” Due to her help trying to defend her country during the Napoleonic Wars that her husband proved vastly ineffective at doing himself. Sorry, I got sidetracked, but I don’t know much about the Swedish monarchy as much as I know whom they’re related to, in other monarchies, but I do love royal history and genealogy.
So, yes, I am a monarchist sympathizer because I believe it is the most effective form of government, and I love the pomp and ceremony of it all. I’m a bigger fan of autocracy, but I will take a constitutional form over a figurehead like Sweden’s “monarchy”.
I hope that helps explain it a little bit better for you. Thanks for the ask!

Stupid rant no one will see but... honestly i feel like 2016 is happening all over again.
All i hear about is how left leaning people are refusing to vote for biden bc of his stance on the israle-palistine genocide. And like... dont get me wrong, i am pro free palistine. I think the atrocities going on are horrible and ethnic clensing. I too am boycotting starbucks, McDonald's, disney and all the others on the list. But if you dont vote in this election you are basically voting for trump.
Trump will win. And if you think he wont support israle your crazy. He will support israle and he will lead a genocide here on american soil as well. Trans lives, womens lives, pocs lives. Those are the lives at risk if he wins. American people will die. Project 2025 will come to be and we might actually have a dictatorship on our hands.
I know it feels horrible, I know the atrocities in palistine are amoral and disgusting. But we cant do anything to change what is happening. Anyone we put in power will support israle.
All we can do right now is vote to stay alive.

Okay, I have to say something about this Chris Pratt thing...
First, I’m not defending Chris Pratt. I know the church he attends is an offshoot of another church that has expressed anti-LGBTQ+ views and I DO NOT support that. Here’s a well-research Vanity Fair article on the matter: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2020/10/marvel-stars-defend-chris-pratt
Okay, now to RDJ’s IG post. At first, I thought the post was weird because of the Christian bent to it which threw me off because I’ve never heard RDJ express himself like that. I sat on it until I read the comments reminding people that people like Brie Larson were attacked in the past and only Don Cheadle came to her defense. While I think RDJ shouldn’t have written such a strange post suggesting that Chris Pratt is a good person because he’s Christian even though people are offended by his church’s connections, RDJ is friends with Chris. And, I think the IG post should be read in the context of someone defending a friend, as for all the other people who also jumped to Chris’s defense. I honestly believe either RDJ doesn’t know Brie Larson as well as Chris and/or when the Brie Larson/Captain Marvel thing happened RDJ was still under his MCU contract and probably didn’t feel comfortable saying anything.
But, guess what? I don’t know, because I don’t know ANYONE involved in this. AT ALL. NONE OF THEM. We need to stop dying on these hills. We need to stop attacking celebrities for their views, because guess what? This isn’t going to affect them. This is why we have the choices we have for president and not a more progressive candidate (who also isn’t white or male) as a choice, because we’re all too worried about what RDJ is talking about on IG?? What if we transferred this energy into votes at the national and the local level? What if we fought this passionately for poorer black and brown people living in Flint, Michigan with poisoned water? What if we cared more about the Supreme Court and stopped someone like Trump from appointing THREE judges with terrible/ignorant/sexist/racist/bigoted, etc. views????
This is why the wealthy can stick together and the rest of us are floundering. THIS IS A DISTRACTION. DO NOT let it keep you from seeing the institutional/structural issues inherent in the US (and all over the world). We should not rely on celebrities/the rich to speak for us. We shouldn’t. Period.
I love RDJ, and he’s still going to be my favorite actor until the day I die. He’s made mistakes, I’ve made mistakes, you all have made mistakes, but people trying to cancel him and Mark Ruffalo and others is a mess. A complete mess. This is why the right keeps winning because we’re fighting each other instead of the real enemy. You know who that is. You know what pure evil/bigotry looks like.
*sighs loudly as anxiety dissipates* Thank you for reading my rant and please stay safe out there, friends.
EDIT: I found out after I wrote this that RDJ did in fact support Brie Larson. https://youngbugandtonystank.tumblr.com/post/632617401446547456/im-upset-i-dont-understand-why-twitter-was
Please don’t attack someone without knowing all the details first. The IG post was weird and excessive but RDJ is not a homophobe, mysoginist, racist, etc. He posts all the time about how much he appreciates his costars and his wife Susan who he basically credits for saving his life. I know he doesn’t need me to defend him because a very small outspoken group of people caused a slew of articles to be written about the men of the MCU protecting another man (forgetting about Zoe Saldana because she doesn’t fit the narrative), but honestly this was all uncalled for and emblematic of why the right constantly owns us. We’re too worried about who’s a Trump supporter in our ranks instead of focusing on historical injustices.

Do you think he will win again? I’ve voted already in my state and I’m hoping it helps.
i honestly dont know. i got ptsd from 2016. i dont trust the polls. eventho part of me thinks yea sure bidens 10 pts ahead, hell win def. people have seen trump for who he is and theyll realize they dont want another 4 years of his chaos.
but if he just convinces just a few thousand people in a few key states, in a few key counties, to vote for him instead of biden, he will absolutely fuckin win. he can win! even if he loses the popular vote, which im pretty sure he will lose again. like im going to make a pretty firm prediction that no matter what, trump will absolutely lose the popular vote. he doesnt need it. he can still win the presidency without it. which is a fucked up thing, but a reality of the electoral college.
he is the incumbent and they always have a lot of support and they are particularly hard to shake out of office, no matter what party. so he can and by all odds will win.
im just so tired. so fucking tired.
