If you prefer the newer seasons of ninjago over the older seasons (pilot-s5/s7) we are fundamentally different people
#kind of a neutral statement#s8 and s9 get excused to an extend but i will not for forgive them for garma/don#s6 and s7 aren't that amazing to me but they get a pass bc at least they feel like they're about the same characters as the prev seasons#and similair with 8 and 9 except yeah..... this is where it starts......#s11+ means little to me in regards to characters. sure they have some cool stuff and the stories are neat (i love s12 SOO much for example)#but. yeah it's what i call the cardboard treatment because most characters especially when they're not the focus feel like -#- cardboard cutout versions of themselves#guys isn't zane so funny because he's a robot hahaha! what a source of comedy that is so in character! /s#and i'm not gonna say that i hate the new seasons cause that's not true#i bawled my fucking eyes out at s15#but it's. kind of a different show to me and the characters often feel off.#also some recurring things that i'm sooooo annoyed at sigh ugh ugh ugh#also they start this thing around s6 where for some reason the police is involved??#and the explorer's club pls fucking DIE#it's fine if you like the chicken also man but holy crap this is just NOT for me at all#the older seasons were many times more charming and if you disagree then - well we simply have differenzt tastes#which is fine#but my god it's something i do need to point out#i didn't actually mean to ramble so much but yeah.........#one of my favorite examples is the reduction of jay's and zane's characters to goofy guy and robot smart guy#the taking jay's inventing skills is the most insane thing they have done to date and they openly admit this this is literally a thing#they really only cared about tropes and archetypes at this point even though this is simply NOT where ninjago shines#i feel like someone might unfollow mr for this but you literally don't have to#it's all fine! just feel like saying this every now and then because ninjago is one of the shows that have been THE most special in my life#forgot the / for ninja/go oh wel l sorry#the reasons i like this show lie in the early seasons and not the later ones

“So you actually have the option of just giving out your vitality instead of absorbing someone else’s wound?”
Choi Han asked _____ as the healer examined the scratch on his palm.
“Yeah, that’s what the God of Death told me. But honestly, this is easier to do.”
At that moment the scratch transferred over to _____. Making Choi Han retreat his hand.
“_____-nim give that back. Give it back right now.”
“Why are you asking for it like it’s something you bought? Plus it’s just a scratch, look it’s barely visible on me.”
The healer looked at the swordmaster confusedly. They couldn’t understand why his so adamant about returning the wound.
“At least take some of my vitality.”
“What–? No way! I just healed you!”
“Then give it back _____-nim.”
“Give what back?”
Cale– no. Naru’s voice suddenly interjected in the conversation. He looked at the two, curious as to what they could have been arguing about.
“Human you’re back! _____ was practising their healing abilities on Choi Han but then got impatient and absorbed the wound instead. Now Choi Han is asking them to give his wound back!”
Raon answered Cale’s curiosity instead of the two. The now 12-year-old child could only frown and shake his head.
“_____ remember that we agreed that you’ll practice because I won’t let you absorb anyone else’s wounds.”
“I’m trying, I’m trying.”
_____ waved their hand off at Cale’s scolding.
And it's true. They have been working hard to adjust to the new change in how they use their power. It’s hard to not automatically absorb someone’s wound or sickness but the healer figured they’d master it soon enough.
It’s just that there’s a lot on their mind right now.
The blessing of the gods. White Star’s plans. Cale’s real identity. Their feelings.
It’s just a lot to take in all at once.
Others understand that the healer’s mind is complicated. That’s why they don’t put any pressure. Reassure _____ that they are mostly in the Endable Kingdom for Cale’s peace of mind. That they can relax because they’d only have to move if it’s an emergency.
“You also know about our human _____?”
Raon spoke vaguely one day. Despite that, the healer still understood what he meant and the reason for his vague words.
“I do. It’s a secret among the four of us right?”
_____ put their index finger on their face to emphasize the secrecy.
“Yes! I won't tell anyone!”
The dragon spun excitedly around the room. It makes _____smile, it had been so long since they’d talked with Raon and they were glad his as energetic as before.
However, the mention of Cale’s secret got them thinking about his real identity. _____ didn’t mind it. The current Cale is the one they knew. So they have no qualms about his identity.
But they did fear the chance of those who knew the original Cale finding out. Like his parents or Ron.
What would be the chance that they’d be sad? Upset that all this time it actually wasn’t their Cale but someone else.
_____’s heart ache at the thought of it.
Cale– no, Kim Rok Soo sounds like he already lost so much. It would be unfair if he lost his biological family here too.
Something like that happening would be cruel.
Not just to Cale, but to his family as well.
“You know… This kind of feels like I’m on babysitting duty.”
_____ suddenly said while eating dinner with Naru.
“...What the fuck?”
The disguised man almost choked on his food at the random statement.
“_____… No… Please…”
A sour look painted his face. As if the thought of _____ babysitting him was so vile.
“I understand. Stop looking at me like that, I’ll shut up about it.”
The healer laughed before continuing to eat their food. A few minutes of silence lingered as the two finished their food.
After eating, the two decided to hang out on Naru’s bed. With _____ sitting on it while Naru lay his head on the healer’s lap.
“Are you having a hard time?”
_____ stroked Naru’s white hair as they asked the question.
“Just a bit.”
He answered truthfully. The healer hummed, encouraging him to speak further.
“But it’s manageable. I’m doing it for our friends after all.”
“I’m glad. Once we solve this let’s get you that slacker life.”
Their conversation ended at that. Both decide to silently bask in each other’s presence. Lost in their train of thought.
Friends…
Cale’s response to _____’s question made the healer realise something. It made them realise just how loved they are right now.
How they have been so focused on other things that they didn’t notice it. Too busy chasing the ghost of the past. Getting validation from those who will never give it. When in fact they already have so much.
They have found their real family. They are so loved.
Just now are they realising such facts.
Regret and happiness rush through their body at the reflection.
Satisfaction comes along right behind them.
‘Yeah, things as they are right now are fine. I don’t need anything else, just my friends and their love. There’s no need to pursue romance. I’m sure it’ll go away someday.’
Was what _____ thought to themself.
However, some time later…
“Do you know just how much my heart longed for you while I was away?”
“Cale..? Excuse… me..?”

When Gojo Hana, Satoru’s first wife, had come up to him after going to the bathroom for only a short of three minutes with a baffled expression, he wasn’t sure what to expect.
Her lithe fingers curled themselves around his biceps as she found home between his thighs. Satoru’s mind was fuzzy, especially after three drinks and four shots, and that merely intensified the feel of her skin against his. It was her expression that he wasn’t sure if he was imagining to be tenfold more worried than it truly was, which pulled his lips into a straight line before he asked, “You okay?”
“Satoru,” she started, a small crack in her voice and Satoru leaned back against the chipped wood of the high table. “You know L/N Y/N, right?”
It was funny, and Satoru realized it was funny because he let out a small, nervous chuckle as his wife dropped your name, that all it took was a mention of your name to get his muscles to tighten like he was going to war. He had gone through every single opportunity for Hana to find out about you—not your existence, because there was hardly anybody within his circle that didn’t know of you—and come out of it unscathed (translation: Hana remained unaware). This couldn’t be any different, though she’d never outright mentioned you before.
He remembered when Hana sat across the quartz tabletop, writing down name after name in delicate cursive, and asked about the L/N family. He’d stiffened, but only momentarily, before he said something along the lines of of course, father would have it no other way. And that, for the time being, was true because there was no way his father wouldn’t want your family to be there after so many years of working together. Satoru wanted to ask Hana, at that moment, if she was sending out invitations addressed to family but he held off until later to make it not seem suspicious. She’d said, ‘Of course not! I want them to be personal and meaningful.’ Satoru felt as though he was ready to change her mind, but how could he argue with something as sweet-intentioned as that?
“My father worked with hers,” he replied, pushing away memories. “Why?” he asked hesitantly.
There was no suspicion on her face, just curiosity, and Satoru hated himself at that moment.
“I think I saw her in the bathroom?” It felt as if all his senses perked up and heightened at her words. Fuck. “She was with another girl. I don’t know her name—brown hair, brown eyes, and… about this tall?” Her hands raised up to demonstrate how tall Reina was. He knew exactly who his wife was talking about because if you were out, Reina was with you. He’d always joked how both of you came in a package, and even Suguru only informed one of you about a party and when the other asked him if they were invited, he always said you both always come together.
It had been ages since Satoru saw either of you, but it was hard to forget how Reina always fought for you when you were his girl. And he was glad you still had her because she wouldn’t leave you abruptly, figuratively packing up all the pieces she left in your life in an instant like he did.
“I wouldn’t know,” he coolly said.
Hana’s lips curled into a small frown. “Her friend said something about how all I know is Y/N’s dad and yours work together.”
“Well, not anymore but yeah.” He feigned indifference, though every nerve of his body felt as if it was on fire. He noticed how her frown only deepened, and he asked, “Were they mean to you or something?”
Hana, sweet, precious fucking Hana, instantly shook her head before she paused and looked down at his chest, as if cowering away from his gaze. “Kind of? I don’t know, maybe she was offended that I only knew her because of your dad?” When she realized she was implying you were being righteous, she took her hands from his arms and raised them in surrender. “I mean, I don’t think she’s, like… a bitch or anything! I might’ve heard them wrong.”
Satoru tried to stop himself, he truly did. But he had to ask. “They still here?”
When she nodded and subtly pointed to the table you sat at with Reina, he couldn’t stop his neck from immediately turning in your direction, a haze of confusion and animosity behind his eyes. Not because you were being rude to his wife, but because he had to be in your presence after months. With his wife. It was truly a miracle that Hana hadn’t noticed the entire emotional turmoil behind his eyes as soon as your name was brought up, which is why he turned to meet her eyes once again and said, “She won’t bother you again, love.”
“You look especially happy today,” Reina commented as her body slithered into the passenger seat of your car.
She was right, you did look happy and you felt it, too. After the conversation with your motherthe unmangling of a burden of emotions between mother and daughter—you felt as though a weight had finally been lifted off your shoulders. The small conversation with Satoru felt like a faraway memory, one which your mind didn’t feel the need to unpack and decode anytime soon because, as Reina had said, he was a taken man. He had a girl at home, and that scratched away any possibility of you and him ever being anything, even friends, because you were engaged to him at one point.
Did that fact hurt? To a whole different level, but you weren’t going to let it tear you down like it had over and over again in the past few months.
“I’m just happy to be invited to the biggest club opening of the year in Kawasaki,” you replied, giggling as you began driving to the location. This was a date you marked on your calendar months ago in big bold letters that said ‘PARTY CLUB LEVITATE.’ It was mere seconds after you opened the dark papered invitation with gold embossed lettering inviting you to a new club, Levitate’s opening. You had dressed yourself in leather pants that hugged your skin perfectly and a shimmering silver halterneck top that covered everything it needed to and just that.
You and Reina glossed over the fact that both of you would be drinking, which meant neither of you would be in condition to drive back. And, even though there were a few people from your circle who would be there, too, it was a hard guess to assume who wouldn’t be drinking.
That was a bridge to cross later because as you stepped through the large gates, flashing your pearly whites as you said your name to the security guards, you were overtaken by the instinct to let go completely loose. Within a blur of moments, you’d downed five shots and you were nursing a glass of—what the bartender said was—a fucking expensive glass of hennessy.
Once you deemed yourself buzzed enough to go onto the dance floor and find Reina, your hips began moving off their own accord. You loved letting go. The music reverberated off the newly-done walls, a sheen of excitement running through the air as everybody had large smiles plastered on their faces. You and Reina’s arms were on each other's shoulders as you both let the heavy thrumming take over.
At one point of the night, many drinks and dances later, you were sitting comfortably on the high chair in front of three bartenders who made small talk and recommended drinks. They recommended the ‘sinner’s delight’ to you which was a combination of fuck-knows-what, and you had to admit it was delicious. Reina was still on the dance floor, taken with a man that had been giving her googly-eyes all night, and you were merely trying to catch your breath.
“Hey, stranger.” You heard someone say as the bottom of the chair next to yours scraped against the floor, indicating they were sitting next to you. You, your mind hazy, turned to your side and were stunned to meet a pair of familiar dark eyes.
“Geto…” you trailed off, and he shook his head as a small smile overtook his lips.
“I’m out of here if you want, trust me. If you—y’know, don’t wanna talk.”
It was your turn to shake your head, and you did it with vigor. “No, no. Stay. I’ve actually been meaning to get in touch with you.” It wasn’t a lie, but it wasn’t the whole truth either. You were planning on getting in touch with Geto, you just weren’t thinking about it to the point you’d actually go through with it. “It’s just been crazy hectic recently.”
There was a sad smile on his lips, and you could imagine he was probably thinking that by recently, you had to mean just about a year which clearly meant you were lying. You were lying, but you also felt you had every right to since you and Geto became friends through Satoru, and Geto was always going to choose Satoru if he had to. In fact, he did choose Satoru because from all the posts you saw on Instagram, they were still as thick as thieves.
“What have you been up to?”
Your mind was blanking, it was a combination of the alcohol and reconnecting with your past, but you tried to go through your timeline since the last time you truly talked to Geto. “I’ve been looking to start a company—or something, I’m not really sure—and my father was helping until… Well, yeah. Right now, though, I’m just helping my mother out with papa’s company and getting stuff in order. Reina and I are actually doing this thing where we read twelve books a month, too, so—” You cut yourself off, realising you were rambling and you felt your cheeks warm up when you noticed Geto was hanging onto each of your words. “I don’t know. Anyways, how about you?”
“I’m sorry. About your dad. I know I wasn’t there for you but—”
You raised your palm, attempting to stop him because you didn’t wanna get too deep into the topic of your father. “No, I know. You called, texted, sent letters, Geto. You don’t have to apologize.” He looked forlorn, and your fingers instinctively reached up to place themselves on top of his own to reassure him. “Trust me.”
Geto took that with as much stride as he could, and attempted to make normal conversation with you. He told you about his art gallery which you knew was picking up since the last time you met him. He asked you for your opinion on some pieces he was looking at, and you tried to give him your best advice. And even though you knew he hadn’t meant to scroll through his camera roll of paintings and accidentally scroll past an image of Satoru and Hana, your lips still curled into a frown because it reminded you he was friends with not just him, but Hana, too. Hana was Geto’s friend the same way you were his, through Satoru. Geto masked his mistake by immediately giving you a backstory of one of the artists, and it did get you interested, but not too distracted from your new realization.
“Suguru! You made it.” Your head snapped up and you thanked every God above for the intrusion of the new voice. Geto locked his phone and looked up at the same time as you at the blond man whose eyes were crinkled up showing the tiniest hints of a smile. “And you.” His gaze shifted, landing on your figure that was leaning against the table. “Glad to see you made it too.”
You remained silent, unsure of how to respond to a stranger as charming as him.
“Of course, I did, Nanami,” Suguru said, rolling his eyes lightheartedly.
A lightbulb flickered in your mind and you were instantly on your feet. “Oh, god. I’m L/N Y/N, thank you so much for the invite. The opening is great.” You were standing across the owner of Levitate, and you couldn’t help but drink every feature of his in. He was tall, and if you got any closer to him, you were sure his figure would cast a shadow over you instantly.
He laughed. “I’m Nanami Kento.” He bowed slightly, and his hand reached out for yours and his fingers gently lifted it up before he grazed his lips over your skin. “The pleasure’s all mine, of course.”
Geto shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and you realized it was probably because neither you nor Nanami were pulling away from the other. You cleared your throat, mustering up an awkward smile as you slid back onto your seat. Your eyes still remained on him, and his remained on you and you found yourself slightly burning warm under his gaze.
“I gotta go, duty calls,” Geto said over the silence though the music was still going on. He flashed his phone screen that displayed an incoming call from his assistant before he wrapped an arm around your shoulder and pulled you into a side hug. It wasn’t much—not the bone-crushing huge the two of you used to share—but it bloomed a sense of familiarity within you, and you could sense Geto felt the same too because he smiled slightly. “Don’t be a stranger, okay?”
You nodded, overcome with a sense of joy that only occurs after you reunite with somebody that has done you no wrong.
Nanami bids him goodbye, too, before he slides into the seat Geto was occupying.
“Are you liking the place so far?” he asked, hands gesturing to the surroundings. “I wasn’t sure if I should invite the area’s biggest party animal because you’ve seen many of these kinds of places. But I can at least expect an honest review from you, right?”
You gulped at how he referred to you as a ‘party animal’ and you knew that people had begun seeing you that way over the past few months, too. You weren’t sure if it sat right with you, but you didn’t have anything particular against it.
“Hmm,” you hummed, trailing a finger over the wood of the table, feigning serious thinking. “I think you could change…” You paused, noticing how his brow went up at your words in curiosity. “Everything. It’s trash.”
He narrows his eyes before he lets out a laugh, and you follow along. His hand lightly covers your knee as the two of you laugh a little too obnoxiously over a joke that was hardly funny, but you blame the ‘sinner’s delight.’
“I thought I’d have to close this place down, no joke,” he said, still between bits of laughter.
You smiled. “Hey, don’t do that. This is my new weekend spot, I’d hate to have it taken away.”
His eyes turned warm and he tilted his head at your comment. “Yeah?”
You nodded, ignoring the feeling of his hand against your knee. “Yeah, to the point you’ll have a drink named after me.”
He blew out a breath as he called the bartender over and whispered something into his ear.
“What was that? You order drugs or somethin’?”
“Oh yeah, the code is strawberry and pickles if you want some.”
“I’m glad to know this place has options, then.”
“No, but I just ordered you a drink you’d like.” When you pointed at your half-full glass of ‘sinner’s delight,’ he shook his head and said, “This one’s not on the menu. Just for you.”
Gojo Satoru always hated meetings.
He hated having to prepare what he would say, and hated even more whenever the conversation didn’t go the way he’d prepared. It wasn’t good that he saw meeting his father as a meeting, but that was what it was. An extremely rage-filled meeting that he was never prepared for because he had no idea what his father would say.
“Listen, Satoru.” Oh, Satoru was listening, alright. “Mrs. L/N isn’t backing down. I fear she’s taking selling the company off the table.”
“Probably because you told her you didn’t want to buy it and just have it.” Satoru knew his words held bite to them, but that was the only way his father would realize that he can’t merely get whatever he wants. And also because he couldn’t stand talking about your family at all as the memory of the last time they had dinner was still fresh in his memory.
“I said I wasn’t paying the money she asked for, not that I wasn’t paying at all.”
“Father,” he said, letting out a strained breath. “You have to ask, not demand. And I’m not talking about this anymore—it’s not my problem and I’m not getting involved in it.
When Satoru walked out of the office, he realized that he was being harsher on his dad than he ever was. Hana seemed to realize the same, because she froze up when he opened the door and caught her standing a few feet away, probably having heard the entire short conversation.
He brushed past her, giving her a small smile, towards their shared bedroom but she followed while saying, “Satoru, darling, are you okay?” She followed him to the bed where he laid down, fingers rubbing at his eyes as he tried to alleviate some of the tension away. “Talk to me, Satoru. Are you upset with your father?”
Of course. Of course he was upset with his father because when was he not?
“Hana, please—”
“No, Satoru.” She cut him off and he could barely inhale at her tone. Rarely had she sounded so curt with him, and everytime she did, he wasn’t sure how to pull her out of it except for leaving her alone. He hadn’t been able to figure out the specifics, despite it being many months since they’ve been married. “You’ve been acting off for the past week, and it started after dinner at the L/N’s. Did something happen?” “No.”
“Then what is it?”You. It was you who he couldn’t get out of his mind. He couldn’t forget how you’d once and for all, completely solidified that you and him were over. He couldn’t forget that he could’ve tried harder. He couldn’t forget that he could’ve explained everything. He could see that you were still seeking closure, and he knew he should give it to you but he couldn’t have. Not unless he wanted you to fall down the path of having to heal all over again. Because of him.

Hehe ur response to my prev ask was soooo cute :3 but I was reading through your fics and I reread the one where u dress up in the frilly maid dress for satoru and he literally falls to his knees like the LOSER he is and. It made me think…. I feel like stsg in general think ur beautiful like. All the time. Staring at u 24/7 with heart eyes like 😍😍😍”damn my bae so gorgeous” (satoru in particular……. Like you’ll be out at a cafe or something and while you’re ordering drinks he stares at you from the table twirling his hair and winking like a highschool girl flirting with her crush >_< he’s sooo silly i adore him) but why is it my first instinct to say that they would both absolutely adore you most when you’ve just woken up like… messy hair, still half asleep, a little drowsy YKKKK???? it’s such a domestic thing, to be able to see someone you love when they’re just themselves,,, not attempting to be presentable or anything… I feel like they would both be soo soft for it :( satoru is just grinning and he wants to make fun of you for being sleepy soooo bad but he thinks you look so cute and he just wants to squish your cheeks 😞😞😞 and sugu does not have such restraint. Makes a teasing little quip in his deep morning voice abt his sweet baby being sleepy……… (don’t be fooled. He wants to squish your cheeks just as bad and coo at you like you’re some sort of newborn kitten 😞😞 Trust in me believe in me I know!!!! I see the truth.) is it just an equally shared need between sugu lovers to see this man in the kitchen in the morning making breakfast like the househusband he is while teasing u for being all tired n huffy… yeah…. Maybe….. oh ok…… —stsg anon !!
RAHHHHHHHHH HOW DO YOU KEEP HITTING ALL MY WEAK POINTS WHAT SORCERY IS THIS 😭😭 stsg anon …. our lord & savior …….
STSG AND THEIR EEPY LITTLE BABYYYYYY no bc i agree SO much i don’t think there’s anything more pure and domestic and loving and soft than seeing your lover all sleepy and disheveled…. and being like Wow I Am In Love With You . AND THAT’S SOOO STSG CODED THEY’RE BOTH LOVESICK LOSERS TRUST‼️‼️‼️
i was sleepy when reading this btw you rlly made my whole morning 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 SUGU W HIS DEEP GROGGY MORNING VOICE CALLING YOU HIS SLEEPY LITTLE BABY PSVDKDBFKBFKFBFJ (SOUND OF STATIC) you rlly want me to go insane huh….. HE WOULDDDD he would be so teasing but in such a sweet way T—T oh is his baby still sleepy? need a longer nap ?? it’s ok, you can just cling to his back and get comfy while he makes you breakfast :3 <- cue incessant cooing until you’re coherent enough to tell him to cut it out . he’s suchhh a sap.
AND TORU OUR LOVERBOYYYY he wants to squish your cheeks :cccc sniffle . wants to tease you soooo badly but gets cuteness aggression instead. the type to wake you up by biting your cheeks and you’re all confused ??? like whyyy are you drooling all over me 🤨🤨 and he can’t even explain himself bc you’re so cute you literally fried his brain. sugu has to pry him off you i fear …… but would you really want him to . when your toru is equally eepy and cute and just wants to coddle you... would you really do that to him ….. ☹️☹️☹️ cuties .
is it just an equally shared need between sugu lovers to see this man in the kitchen in the morning making breakfast like the househusband he is while teasing u for being all tired n huffy… yeah…. Maybe….. oh ok……
PAGSJPAHSH PLEASEE THIS MADE ME LAUGH…. SO TRUE !!!! all suguru stans want to see him in an apron :3 engulfed by the morning sunshine :33 he’s just sooooo househusband coded……… makes you breakfast every single day. he’s so serious abt it <3333

Speeches time was – if not – the one thing So Ah was worried about; and not in a bad way. She really didn’t want to test the limits of her mascara.
Chris, surprisingly, had a speech prepared but he didn’t write it down. He started out simple and lighthearted, ending it with a little inside joke. The guests laughed but those who knew shared looks whilst muffling their snickers.
“First, I’d like to congratulate my two dear friends – actually, only one. I don’t know about Leon, he smells weird. I’m only kidding. Congratulations you two. The venue is really beautiful and judging from the plants and the artistic themes, I think we all know who did most of the decor choices. Lastly, Leon, hope you’re ready for the chase of your life. Cheers.”
Then was ChoHee who actually brought a small piece of paper with her. Her speech was a bit longer but sweet to the newlyweds. Of course, a best friend wasn’t a best friend without some playful jokes.
“I’m surprised So Ah got to marry first – and now I owe her dinner at Congdu. I remember the first time she told me about Leon, and something in me knew that she was already head over heels for him. When I met him, I just thought to myself ‘it’s gotta be that goddamn hair’. I love you, So Ah. Sharing my bento with you was the best decision I’ve ever made. And Leon, take care of her or I’m getting the scissors. Cheers!”
Michael went third and Jaehyun instantly gave So Ah a good luck look, reminding her that their dad truly had not a single emotion in his bone. He was always the stoic kind and straight to business. Sugarcoating was not his forte.
“Thank you all for attending my daughter’s and my now son-in-law’s wedding. As some of you may know about the incident several years ago, he was the one who kept her safe throughout it all. My family’s safety was my top priority too, so it felt good to see that he thought the same. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t know what I would’ve done if something were to have happened to my dear So Ah. So, congratulations and welcome to the family, Leon Kennedy.”
Okay, Jaehyun looked surprised, earning a faint giggle from the bride at his face. Leon had nudged So Ah’s shoulder with his, grinning as he gently tapped his wine glass with hers.
Lastly was Sena. How So Ah felt after she was done didn’t need to be said.
“This might be a little long, so please, forgive me – but I’m not truly sorry. It seems like yesterday where So Ah was just a little girl drawing how she’d wish her wedding to be with her little Prince Charming. And now, it’s all come true because Leon’s here to treat her like the princess she is.”
“You have no idea how utterly proud I am of you for being so strong and so kind – and know that Minji would’ve been just as proud, if not more. I only wish I would’ve been there for you more when you were young as I feel I have missed watching you grow into the woman you are right now. To my eyes, you’ll always be my baby. My sweet little Soo. Here’s to Leon and So Ah, wishing nothing but the most beautiful days for you two.”
Leon comforted So Ah when she started crying a little, rubbing her back and tugging her close to kiss her temple.
And that concluded the speeches.
It was time for their first dance – So Ah was about to vomit as Leon was fixing his suit whilst the DJ started the next song.
“I don’t think I can dance, Leon.” She whispered to him, catching his attention, “It’s difficult with the heels on.”
Leon glanced down then at her, pushing his chair back “So, take them off.”
Her eyes widened a bit, clearly shocked, “What?”
“It’s not like anyone would notice with your dress being that long.” Leon pointed out with a chuckle.
Her blush was soft as she rubbed her arm, admitting, “I never really learned how to slow dance.”
A gentle smile reached his lips as he stood up, offering his hand, “Just follow my lead.”
She set her hand on his and Leon caught her legs shuffling a bit underneath her dress. When she stood up, she was noticeably shorter before she got on her tiptoes to make it seem she was still wearing them. God was she too endearing.
The lights had dimmed down, leaving the soft glow only on the dance floor when he led her to the centre of it. The floors felt cold beneath her toes but it slipped her mind when Leon stood in front of her.
With the hand he was leading her, he put it on his shoulder before grabbing her other. His free hand went to her waist, slowly moving her and himself to the melodic song. With his azures on her, hers were on the ground at his feet.
Faint gasps would escape through her parted lips when she’d accidentally misstep, earning a small laugh from her husband. Leon tugged her close, his hand sliding down to the small of her back whilst caressing her other hand to calm her down.
“What’s wrong?” He asked lowly, his lips brushing her forehead as he spoke.
“I don’t want to mess this up…” She answered, swallowing thickly when she let her eyes dart to the guests, “They’re all watching.”
“Let them watch. You?” Leon released her waist to tilt her chin up with his two fingers, gazing into her eyes, “Keep your eyes on me. Watch me.”
With the lights dimmed, it was only them in the room.
This all felt like one big dream. Leon never truly thought he’d find someone to settle down with. Chasing after a woman on the run for years was draining him. On any other day, he would’ve enjoyed the chase but with no end game, it bugged him. With the endless assignments from his division to the constant paranoia about any sudden outbreaks, he fully believed that was his whole life.
But then he saw her.
A certain sunny day in August was all it took to weaken his walls. It was still fresh in his memory, seeing her standing on her lawn with her potted plant and an anxious but excited smile on her face.
A couple of days later, he counted the constellation of stars adorning her cheeks and nose bridge ever so faintly. Under the pale lights of that neighbourhood, his heart was stolen before he could even realize it.
It took months to break his walls down but honestly, maybe they were already crumbling for her. Days and days later, she entered his bubble, soaked to the bone from the rain storm. It was unintentional, but since then, Leon was more than willing to pull her soso close till there was no space in between.
He was in denial for the longest time, filled with guilt of lost opportunities when she slipped through his fingers into the endless void. Seeing her again spread something hot throughout his chest. Kissing her for the first time was forever embedded into his core memory.
The girl he met on that day was finally his, and his only. He was never planning on letting that go.
The Han brother narrowed his eyes a little at the dancing couple before leaning towards his tearful mother, muttering, “Is it just me or did she get shorter?”
Sena blinked at him from behind her napkin, looking back at So Ah. She was clearly shorter than her previous height.
“That girl,” She groaned, shaking her head, “She must’ve taken off her heels again.”
Jaehyun snickered, taking a sip of his wine with a subtle shrug, “She never liked them anyway.”
“It’s fine, my dear.” Michael grasped Sena’s hand, patting it gently with a tender look, “She still looks like our pretty little angel.
Jaehyun tore his eyes away from his parents and to his side at the empty chair. Despite it being a long while since she was gone, the Hans couldn’t help but reserve an extra chair. It was where Minji was supposed to sit.
A sad smile reached his lips, his heart hurting at the realization that she wasn’t around to witness the wedding. Without his eldest sister around, who he was supposed to make jokes to about the event?
He could only pray and hope that she was in a much better place – but in his own selfish ways, he preferred her with the family.
Back to the main show, So Ah gazed up at Leon with such adoration that her pupils would’ve dilated into hearts and comical pink bubbly hearts popped above her head.
Leon grinned down at her, releasing her hand to set it on her waist. With both hands, he lifted her up, twirling them around. A gasp of surprise emitted from her when her feet were no longer touching the ground. Her hands shot to his shoulders, giggling childishly at being up in the air.
By the time he set her down, the song had ended and Leon pulled her close to kiss her deeply – distracting her from the applause from the guests.
Piers grumbled, giving Chris twenty dollars reluctantly, “I didn’t know he’d be that extra.”
Chris took the money with a tilted smile, “It’s his wedding, what did you expect?”
So Ah pulled away from the kiss with a soft smile, “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Leon returned the smile, brushing her strand of hair behind her ear.
“You surprised me.”
“With that spin at the end?”
“Yeah, but the music too,” She giggled, “I didn’t know you knew some slow songs. I fully assumed Backstreet Boys or something.”
Leon shrugged with a tick of his head, a cheeky grin coming to his lips as he nodded at the DJ, “Well…”
So Ah blinked at the new but familiar music playing, giving Leon an incredulous look, “You didn’t.”
Backstreet’s back, alright!
Leon tugged her close, winking at her as several guests got out of their seats to join the dance floor, “Oh, but I did.”
“Hey, Leon! So Ah!”
Leon looked away from his wife who was tugging and fixing the plants on their table where the eaten cake was. She followed suit, turning to find Chris approaching them with a gorgeous girl in hand.
“I’d like you to meet someone. This is Rose.” Chris introduced the girl who already had a gentle smile on her lips.
Her brown hair was neatly curled and pulled over to her shoulder. The dress she wore was a pretty lilac colour with low and sheer sleeves, ending on a sweetheart neckline. It was long, draping over her form just perfectly.
“Nice to meet you.” Leon shook her hand with a kind smile.
So Ah went second, a timid look on her face as she was always shy about meeting new people, “Hi, it’s nice to meet you.”
Her eyes snapped to the gorgeous silver ring around her finger with a beautiful green gem in the middle. It took her mind a couple of seconds when she connected the dots, finding a similar ring band on Chris’ finger.
“It’s nice to meet both of you too, finally.” Rose nudged Chris’ side playfully, “He rarely lets me meet his friends.”
So Ah and Leon shared a look, knowing the other have noticed the rings.
“I let you meet my friends,” Chris defended, “Just not these kinds of friends.”
Rose rolled her eyes, a faint smile on her face as she spoke, “He thinks it’ll keep me safe or whatnot – as if I don’t know what you do for a living.”
“The further away you are from this part of the world, the better.” Chris wrapped an arm around her waist with a tender look on his face.
“Say,” Leon cleared his throat, nodding his head at their hands, “Is there something you’re not telling us?”
The couple looked down at their rings in unison then at each other before Chris piped up, “We all gotta tie the knot in the end.”
“No way!” So Ah gasped, surprised, “When did you even do the wedding?!”
Chris barely shrugged, “Back in 2009. It was a small wedding within the family – we didn’t want it too big.”
His wife snorted, “Small wedding.”
He was never the kind to talk much about his personal life, so it didn’t come much of a shock to know that he was married. The fact he never showed it, even for just a second on any day, was what surprised her the most.
Rose showed her ring with a grin, “Goodbye, Rose Guidry and hello, Rose Redfield”
Another alarm rang in the Han girl’s head. She heard that name before; Guidry. It rang numerous bells at the memory. It was only one day when she was young – she had long forgotten about it.
“Wait… Guidry?” So Ah took a step forward, realization slowly washing over her, “We’ve met before, didn’t we?”
“Yeah, we did.” Rose answered, nodding as she laughed, “I was wondering when you were going to remember me.”
Leon furrowed his brows, “You two know each other?”
“Yeah!” So Ah beamed at the memory, “My parents initially wanted me to study in, uh… What was it called?” She turned to Rose for help.
“Georgetown University,” The girl added, “It’s in DC.”
“That’s it! My parents changed their mind and took me back to Seoul.” So Ah snapped her finger before letting out a happy sigh, “It’s been so long!”
“It’s a very beautiful university. It honestly made me a bit sad when you left.” Rose commented with a subtle pout, “What changed their mind? Should I have shown them around too?”
“Well…” So Ah trailed away with a nervous giggle, darting her eyes to Chris for a split second who only shook his head.
Okay, right.
“It was a family emergency, nothing serious.” She resorted to saying, hiding every single thing that had gone wrong.
Chris didn’t want Rose to be involved with the BOWs? Then he got it.
“Ah, well, it would’ve been fun.” Rose smiled, “I think you would’ve really liked it there – I could’ve shown you around town too!”
“Maybe next time,” So Ah laughed before leaning against Leon, earning a tilted grin and an arm around her waist, “We’ve got a trip planned in a few days and then it’s back to work.”
Rose blinked, “Oh? Where are you going?”
“Hawaii.” Leon answered, sighing as if exhausted, “Not by choice but she always wanted to visit it, so…”
“Hey! You came to me all excited first!”
“No, I didn’t.” Leon pinched her side playfully.
Chris gave Rose a knowing look, “Told you they’re like children.”
“I think it’s endearing!” Rose shot back and she faced So Ah, “We spent our honeymoon in this gorgeous cabin in Montana and he was in charge of chopping wood. Every day, I’d hear him whining about splinters. Every. Day.”
“I never whined. I was complaining.” Chris corrected.
“Should’ve worn gloves.”
“I did.”
“Fingerless ones don’t do crap.”
So Ah gasped faintly, “That’s what I always tell Leon!”
As the two girls laughed, Chris and Leon looked at each other, almost exasperatedly.
Chris sighed, his hand going to Rose’, “We’ll leave you two to your cake. I believe my wife owes me a dance.”
So Ah giggled, “It was nice to meet you again!”
“It was!” Rose exclaimed as Chris began pulling her away, “Congratulations on the beautiful wedding, by the way!”
Leon hummed as his wife waved at the woman, turning to So Ah, “I can’t decide whether I’ve met her before or maybe I’m a bit too tipsy.”
“Well, did you ever go to that uni?” So Ah asked, going back to pick up her drink from the table.
Leon thought about it, leaning one hand on the table with furrowed brows, “Maybe. I’ve been to a lot of places – but mostly for the DSO.”
So Ah blinked at him as she took a sip and he sighed, shaking his head and looking at the cake. With one finger, he scooped some of the whipped cream up and mindlessly stuck it into his mouth. All while she couldnt tear her eyes away from the gesture.
It was strangely enticing.
“Mmh, best dessert.” Leon smacked his lips with a smirk easing into his lips, having noticed her gaze, “Right after you.”
Her cheeks turned rosier, heat filling up her chest and lower stomach before she smacked his arm.
“Leon, behave!”
“Fine, I’ll save it till tonight.”
A blur of red went past her peripheral vision, freezing the bride in her spot. The words from one of her family members went deaf to her ears, eyes finding Leon looking at her. He too saw the colour. While many of the guests could be wearing red, something about that shade was raising suspicions.
“And then–”
“Excuse me,” So Ah interrupted with a polite smile, “Just for a moment.”
Picking up her dress, she basically skipped out of the venue – which was massive. She was vaguely aware of Leon following her as she stood out in the hallway, turning her head left and right. Again, she saw something red turn the corner and she followed it. The shining clean floors felt cold under her feet, having left her heels behind once again.
The breeze along with the calming scent of the garden surrounded her, grass tickling her skin once she stopped.
So Ah breathed softly, her eyes widening slightly at the woman in front of her, “Ada?”
There she stood; the infamous lady in the red dress. The dark wine maxi gown would’ve made her stand out had she mingled with the guests. It featured a halter neckline with the side and back exposed, held up by thin straps.
Of course, an Ada dress wasn’t an Ada dress without the long side split reaching her upper thighs.
A tilted smile appeared across her redred lips, “Beautiful dress, Han – or should I say, Mrs Kennedy?”
The Han girl giggled bashfully, “Well… Still a Han if we’re talking about this country’s laws.”
Similarly to her parents, Sena didn’t change her surname and kept it Kim when she married Han Michael. Besides, it saved a lot of time with changing documents.
Did So Ah have the choice to change her surname? Yeah.
But was she?
“Still,” Ada gave her a knowing look, “Feels freeing from Han, doesn’t it?”
She did think about it. Having spent most of her life in her home country, it was a little difficult to come to a decision.
Leon jogged to a stop beside So Ah, brows already knitting in the middle, confused, “Ada? What are you doing here?”
Ada pulled out an invitation card from the pouch she had hidden under her dress’ split with a subtle pout, “I got invited though I’m feeling a bit sad to have missed the main event.”
Her sultry eyes turned to Leon’s, “Nice spinning at the end there.”
Leon scoffed, opening his mouth to retort but So Ah butted in, “Can you say longer? I’d love it if you could.”
Ada hummed thoughtfully, eyeing the fancy card and flipping it with her two fingers. It was clear she had already made her choice.
“Hm, sorry, Han – I would but I’m on a tight schedule.”
“Nothing that involves BOWs I hope?” Leon raised a brow, folding his arms against his chest.
He earned a chuckle but she didn’t answer. A rumbling sound seemed to grow louder and nearer and So Ah gasped under her breath at the helicopter showing up. She brought up her arm to shield her face from the rushing wind, feeling a hand press against the small of her back when she stumbled.
A ladder dropped down, swinging next to Ada and she grabbed onto it, climbing the first step. Leon narrowed his eyes at her under the wind.
“I’ve left a little gift in your room! I think you’ll love it,” Ada called out over the sound of the propellers, a sly grin on her lips, “See you around, you two!”
The helicopter went higher and away, leaving them behind. So Ah lowered her arm, staring up at the distant helicopter with a subtle not surprised tick of her head.
“She never changes, does she?” Leon shook his head with a huff.
“It would’ve been weird if she actually stayed.” The girl added.
They laughed together at that. So Ah trailed her eyes up at Leon with a curious look and he returned it.
The door to her room burst wide open, revealing a panting married couple. Right on the vanity was a small gift box with royal red wrapping and next to it was a potted plant with a similar coloured bow wrapped around it.
So Ah walked up to her vanity first, gazing at the plant and picking it up gently to observe it up close. The smell of the fresh bunch of leaves eased her up. A certain memory made its way to her head, making her giggle at the small card attached to it; Leon.
“It’s for you.” She offered it to Leon who instantly recognized the plant, rolling his eyes.
“When is anyone gonna listen to me?” He grumbled, taking the potted Fittonia though his blues grew soft, “I’m not a plant person – especially for this dramatic kind.”
So Ah patted his shoulder with a giggle, “It’s the gesture that matters, Leon.”
She returned her attention to the box, carefully untying it as Leon stared at the plant with a suspicious look on his face. Once the wrapping fell off, she opened the lid and her eyes widened, freezing.
Leon noticed her tensing, looking at her then he darted his eyes down, “What is it?”
He set the plant aside when she reached inside to pull out the picture. It was taken at the Watergate Hotel gala; after six months of being apart.
Her heart melted at how young both of them looked, standing next to each other for the photo. Leon had his arm around her waist, settling his hand on her hip with his usual cheeky smirk. The girl was leaning towards him with a softer smile, her cheeks tinted red at the close proximity and her hands holding onto a single lilac anemone.
Back then, Leon not-so-sneakily took the flower out of the many assorted bouquets around and gave it to her.
A faint giggle emitted through her lips, truly thinking this photograph was long gone. Leon couldn’t help but smile, wrapping his arms around her torso from behind  His lips brushed the crown of her head. A gentle kiss.
“Maybe not all her gifts are strange.” Leon mumbled against her hair, his smile widening when he felt her lean against him and he moved his head so it was resting next to hers.
“Maybe.” She repeated as she reached for his arm to grasp onto him, flipping the picture around to see the writing on the back.
Transparency leads to intimacy in marriage, don’t you agree? X
In an instant, her whole body stilled and the picture almost slipped from her fingers. The tracker within her nape blinked at the indirect mention, sending her skin crawling with goosebumps.
Leon leaned down a bit to read the text, scoffing in disbelief, “Yep. Never changes. Always so vague.”
She chuckled at that, setting the picture down as a feeble attempt to calm her nerves. There was barely a thing that can be hidden from Ada. She had sources anywhere and from anyone – of course, she knew about the chip.
So Ah may not trust her that much because really, you can never trust a Wong, but she trusted her enough to not say a word. Judging from the little message she left behind, she was leaving it up to the Han girl to clean up her own mess.
She turned around to face Leon, hands reaching up to fix his tie, “Mhm, she’s as mysterious as one can get.”
Leon’s lips twitched, gazing down at her, “Penny for your thoughts?”
She blinked, looking up at him and smiled softly, “Just you, only you.”
Her hand felt delicate on his cheek and he found himself leaning against it, grasping her hand to keep it there. A lovelove glint was in his azures, making them seem bluer.
“Funny, I can tell you what’s on my mind, but it’s better if I show it.” His voice dropped a tone, nodding his head at the circular beige couch.
Heat rushed to her cheeks as she grew flustered, catching on. Instead, she tilted her head to the side, “Uhm, I think it’s better if I show you later at home.”
It was his turn to be intrigued, asking, “Show me what?”
“What’s under this dress,” She mumbled, dusting away invisible dirt off of his blazer whilst attempting to be seductive, "You know how Minx's Body is."
His eyes boggled open, already darting down to her gown as if he'd see what was underneath. With her dress being off-shoulder, the only thing he could assume was that whatever was under didn't have straps.
A low groan came from him, narrowing his eyes a bit at her teasing, "Jesus Christ, sweetheart."
She laughed shyly under his intense gaze, glancing over at the clock on her vanity, "Only two more hours left."
Leon let out an exasperated grumble, "Could just send them home now–"
"Leon!" So Ah gasped, interrupting him but he continued.
"So I could have my way with you."
Did he have to be so blunt about it?
He wasn't even trying to be seductive but it was just tempting at this point. Still, she stood her ground.
"We won't end the reception early just because you're too excited to go home." She practically scolded, making him shrug lazily with an equally lazy smirk.
"Can't help it," His hands went down to her waist, pulling her close with his lips barely brushing hers, "You look goddamn stunning, did I ever tell you that?"
Her blushing intensified, her heart rattling at his not-so-subtle enticing ministration. A loving and timid smile reached her lips.
"Maybe like ten times." She whispered, wrapping her arms around his neck.
He chuckled lowly, nose bumping against hers as he maintained eye contact, "I'll keep saying it ten more times then."
Okay, he knew what he was doing. So Ah reluctantly pulled herself away from his arms, holding his hand instead when he reached out to her with a surprised look on his face.
"Later, Leon." She reminded, leading him out of the room before she'd do something that would embarrass her forever.
Leon scoffed light-heartedly, firming up his grasp on her hand, "You're gonna drive me crazy."
"Well, better get used to it." She cheekily shot back, looking at him over her shoulder, "We're married now."
Leon smiled toothily at this, "Yeah, we are."
He sped up to be next to her, pulling her hand up to plant a kiss on the ring. Her whole soul melted at the intimacy and the love in his blueblue eyes when he finished.
"Best decision of my life."

If it weren’t for the fact that you were packing for ‘My High School Dream’, it would be a normal friday you still couldn’t believe it. they told you you’d lose your phone and that you’d be able to get a new one after debut. your last facetime with jay was probably the hardest. you knew you’d have opportunities to meet up with him after debut but, what would happen if you don’t debut? no, you will debut. that’s what you told yourself.
"don't worry kiddo. we'll see each other when you get famous, i'll get your number then!"
"yeah, but what if i don't debut, then what?"
'you will debut, don't worry. good luck! i love you and im so proud of you kiddo!"
"thanks jay. i love you too. bye, i have to catch the bus to make it to our dorms. i'll be staying there for like two months"

"bye y/n!! have fun! cant wait" all the boys shouted, they always hyped you up. except niki, of course
little did you know, the boys were teasing niki back at the dorms. why? let's just say you're really pretty and he agreed, without you knowing.
you plopped your phone on your bed and finished packing. you started to tear up at the fact that you wouldn't be able to talk to jay as much. Hyun came over and helped you for a bit.
"i'll miss you" he wiped your tears and kissed your forehead
"me too, Hyun"
when you left for the bus, some students from your school came to show support.
"bye mom, bye dad. i love you guys so much. see you around" you hugged your parents, Hyun, and the one friend you had left. the bus ride was a little hard, but you managed.
WELCOME TRAINEES! that's what the banner read.
"hello ladies! i am Yong-hee, i will be one of the judges on 'my high school dream'. you may take a seat in the lobby and talk amongst yourselves for about an hour. we will then introduce each other all together. have fun!" she seemed really nice and was really welcoming.
you girls began talking amongst each other and you found out there were only three members younger than you. 6 of you started to talk with each other, the other six did the same.
"hello i'm Eun-sa, im 18 years old" she was so pretty.
"i'm Soo-ah, i'm 16" she had really nice hair
"i'm Cho-gyung. i'm 17" she was tall
"i'm Ro-cha, just call me Rora. i'm 15" her skin was beautiful
"i'm y/n, i'm 14" you said and smiled warmly
"what about you, whats your name?" Cho-gyung asked the girl sitting next to you.
"i-im Se-un, i'm 13" she was about your height.
"wow, you all are making me feel old." Eun-sa said.
they all seemed really nice, Se-un seemed really shy, but maybe it was because she's 13.
"i look forward to working with you guys" Rora was so kind and genuinely seemed excited to work with you guys
you introduced yourselves and played some games, you and Se-un got really close and she thought you were like a big sister.
after that, you all went to the main lobby and got assigned your rooms. there were two big rooms for the trainees.
"ha, looks like we'll be living together for the next two months" Soo-ah mentioned and it was true. all six of you were assigned to one of the two big rooms. you had dinner and got settled into your rooms
you and Se-un chose beds next to each other. she felt really comfortable around you.
"well, lights out isn't for another hour so, how about we get real"- Eun-sa
"how?"- Rora
"are any of you in a relationship?" Eun-sa asked and you felt the tips of your ears get red
"i had a boyfriend but we broke up before i left. we decide it was best" Soo-ah's comment made you feel a bit better
"y/n-ah! your ears are red!" Cho-gyung
"well, i have a boyfriend yea, we've had to be apart for long periods of time before so we'll be fine" you admitted with a pink face.
"awww, how about you Seun-ah? if you're not comfortable, thats ok too though, ok?" rora
"well, i've had a crush on this guy for a while, and some celebrity crushes too" she said and started to blush a bit.
"ooh, like who? obviously if you don't want to, you don't have to answer" Eun-sa asked and she made Se-un feel like she could talk about anything with them.
"well, i think the members of BTS are cute, but even locals agree, uhm, also the new group that debuted, enhypen, they're cute too" she told you all about her crushes
"oh! i know enhypen. jay's my brother and i kind of sound like a pick me right now but yeah." you blurted out and almost regretted it until,
"no way! you like any of them?" Soo-ah asked you while lightly nudging you with her elbow.
"well, i kind of like niki but he doesn't even talk to me. all the others are really nice though." you remembered how niki reacted to you passing your audition
"girl, that is a classic enemies-to-lovers trope!" Rora has read way too many books to know how that ends
"no, no." you blushed a little but you had to admit, the sound of enemies-to-lovers made you smile a bit
"lights out, everyone report to your rooms and go to sleep, you have a big day ahead of you!" Yong-hee's voice was heard throughout the entire building.
"goodnight guys!" Cho-gyungs voice we heard in your room and everyone responded
"goodnight unnie, thanks for making me feel welcome" Se-un tired voice was so calming
"goodnight Seun-ah. you're welcome"
you patted her head goodnight to lay down. what waits for you the next day is big. until then, goodbye

Gravity Falls Beyond the Woods Chapter 15
Dipper and his children learn the truth.
<- prev next->
The clone paced around his prisoners. “Stan’s party,” Dipper said. “ The clones I made. But they all died.”
The clone wagged his finger. “Not all of us. We were the ones who stole Robbie's bike. Remember.”
Dipper’s eyes widened. “Quattro! You look good. You haven't changed.”
It was true. His face looked like Dipper’s did when he was twelve. Although, he looked far more faded. “No I haven't.”His suit started making willy noises as steam emerged from the breast plate. The chest of the suit opened, and the clone walked out. It was Dipper when he was twelve complete with shorts and vest. “I remember the first time you and Mabel came back. The second summer. It was barely a year, but you both were so…tall, Mabel lost her braces, and you had Wendy’s old trapper hat. You had it longer than this old thing.” He gave his hat a tug. He looked down at his tiny hand. He opened and closed it. “I…We didn’t age. You just grew and grew while I was stuck as the awkward twelve year old.” Without the helmet, he spoke in his young cracking voice of a twelve-year-old. But there was a cold bitterness to it.
Rose noticed something. “Two of you stole Mr. Valentino’s bike. Right?” She turned to her father for confirmation.
“Tracy, I think he called himself.”
Quattro was silent for a moment. “Do you know what it's like to look at your own face on someone else everyday,” he whispered. “To be reminded that you are not you. He was gonna kill me. I had to do it first. I had to. He made me.” His voice was pleading, despite. “But it's okay. I don’t need him. I never did.” From an unnoticed corner he pulled out several cardboard cutouts. Stan, Soos, Mabel and Wendy. Even Pacifica and Ford. Crudely drawn. He took the Mabel one and shook it around. “Hey Dipper, long time no see!” “Yeah dawg. Wanna see me test a ramp I made.” Rose and the others looked on in terror. He moved on to the Ford and Pacifica ones. “Yes, indubitably.” “Whatever.” “I was made before you met them. I don’t really know what they're like.” The clone admitted.
Dipper could feel the terror coming from the kids. At least his first encounter with the supernatural was with goofy gnomes who didn't even know what marriage really meant. But Rose, Tyrone, and the others tripped right into the deep end. Out of all the times Dipper had almost died, this was the scariest. So he thought it was best to get right to the point.
“What do you want?”
“I want my life back. I've been stirring the pot so to speak. Attacking the fairies, getting the government involved. All to get you back in here in good old Gravity Falls. Of course I had to promise the men in black something in return for delivering you to me.” Quattro threw back a pair of dusty curtains. There was the statue of Bill Cypher, hand extended.
“Cypher. Quattro, I don't know what you think you're doing but you can't trust him. He's using you.”
“Well, let's see what he has to say!” The clone grabbed Bill's extended hand. Everyone shouted in terror, but nothing happened. Quattro removed his hand. “He didn't say anything. He can't. He's just a statue. If the government wants to waste time on a hunk of rock, that's their prerogative. As long as I get you brother.”
Dipper gritted his teeth. “Well, you have me. Let the kids go.”
“Eh, I didn’t want them here. The faye got them involved. But they've seen too much at this point.”
“And whose fault is that?” Spat Tyrone.
Dipper sighed. “Why do you want me?”
Quattro ran his hand over the wall. “Do you know this place father? I have been told you’ve been here before.”
Dipper took a second look around. “It's the ship.” It was the place Ford was almost taken that first summer. Where they glued the riff containment.
Rose's eyes lit up. “The ufo!”
“UFO stands for unidentified flying object. A) it's not flying. And B) it's identified. It's a spacecraft.”
“Regardless. Stanford and McGucket mined this place for parts for their inventions. The carpet, the mind ease gun, the photocopier that made me. We found this place hiding from the rain. Just a drop of water could maim us, or even kill us if it hit the right spot. But that won't matter soon. With the right tools, I've been able to make this!” He pulled down a shagged carpet. “Once I get this baby working like the original. I'll get to be me again.”
“You’re stealing my body.”
“Steal it, dump you in the rain and watch you melt. Once I'm you I'll wipe the brats memory. Easy peasy.”
“Okay. Quattro, I can only imagine how hard everything's been for you. Listen, I can help you find a new life.”
“I DON'T WANT A NEW LIFE, I WANT MINE! You, you can't understand. You who got everything. You found the author, who was a relative, you're a respected paranormal researcher.”
“Respected is a strong word.”
The clone held Dipper’s arm. “Look, are these muscles? How did we get muscles?” Dipper thought about the variety of near death experiences that lead to his current physical state. “You even got Wendy! WENDY! You don’t get to pawn me off when you got everything you ever wanted. I, I miss Mabel. I miss my mom. And I will get them back!”
Wendy Was driving around the back roads when Puck appeared in her front seat. She nearly hit a tree as she came to a stop. Wendy reached for her ax when Puck raised her hands.
“Peace, peace. Why would you hurt your friend?”
“Friend? You took my daughter!”
“That was the Queen's orders. Couldn't disobey those. And it was your own people who took your husband. But I know where they are. They are both in the same place.”
Wendy narrowed her eyes. “Why should I believe you?”
“Well, I can't do anything to make you believe me. All I can do is tell you and the choice to believe will be yours.” Puck leaned close to her ear. “They are where the metal star hit the Earth.” And with that the imp was gone.
Wendy rubbed her eyes. If Dipper lived through this, she was gonna have time fairy proof the car. Metal star…Like a meteor? Or like a…Ship! She remembered Dipper excitedly explaining about how he and Stan 2 explored a crush space from like the paleozoic era or something. She backed up onto the road. ‘Don't worry’, she thought. ‘Mama's coming.’

Helios Rising Heroes - Sing in the Darkness 3
Chapter 13:
Tumblr media
Sage: (Aah~ That felt like a dream come true….)
Sage: (For Brad-san and Oscar-san to come visit me and encourage me like this, I almost can’t believe it.)
Sage: (More than anything…hearing those stories about Sensei made me really happy)
Sage: (To believe in Sensei….yes, I feel like they were encouraging that.)
Sage: (Yup...! You can’t let your feelings get too dark!)
Sage: (I wonder if Nico and the others have been able to progress?)
Sage: (I feel bad I’ve left it all to them, but I get the feeling I’ll hear from them soo–)
[phone rings]
Tumblr media
Sage: Woah, what timing!
Sage: Yes, hello?
Sage: ……
Sage: Yeah, yeah… that’s what I was thinking too!
Sage: I’m glad…. Yup, yup, please tell me the details?
Sage: Uhh, I think I can sneak out of the room now. As long as I come back quickly, it’ll probably be fine, surely.
Sage: Yeah, alright, I’ll head over now. Wait just a moment…!
Tumblr media
Nico: —Sage is gone?
Nova: [Yeah….]
Nova: [Apparently Brad-kun and Oscar-kun came to visit him after dinner, but it seems like he left soon after that….]
Nico: Did he leave on his own?
Nova: [Yup. The surveillance camera in the medical room showed him leaving the clinic premises while talking to someone on the phone…]
Nova: [Sorry to sound like I’m throwing suspicion, but Nico-kun, you wouldn’t happen to know anything about it, would you?]
Nico: I don’t. If anything, I’d like to hear more.
Nova: [Isn’t that right~, sorry about that~]
Nico: I’m going to go look for him now.
Nova: [That would be a huge help if you could! I’ll do what I can from here too!]
Tumblr media
Nico: (Sage…where have you gone?)
Nico: (For you to leave without saying anything….)
Nico: (Who on earth could have been on the other end of that phone–)
Nico: Jude?
Jude: ……
Nico: Good thing I found you here. There’s something we both need to do.
Nico: Is Bianchi in the work room?
Jude: Yeah
Nico: ………
Jude: They’re inside, but they won’t be seeing you.
Tumblr media
Nico: ….What? We’re not in training right now, so what’s gotten you so agitated?
Jude: Go home.
Nico (forceful): ……Bring out Bianchi.
Jude (angry): I already said they won’t be seeing you.
Nico: Sage is in trouble.
Jude: And so?
Nico: Aren’t you worried for Sage?
Jude: Me? Worried for Sage?
Jude: The only thing I worry for is Bianchi–
Tumblr media
Bianchi (misty-eyed): Stop it, Jude….
Bianchi: ….That’s enough.
Jude: Bianchi (。•́.︿•̀。)
Bianchi: …….
Nico: Bianchi, Sage is gone.
Nico: …Explain the meaning of all this
Bianchi: ….Alright. Come in–

Kim Rok Soo’s knowledge about the new world he is in was all from the novel titled ‘Birth of a Hero’. That and whatever he had read in his study at the Henituse castle.
So when those reddish-brown eyes of his landed on an unknown figure that looked important, he was confused. Good thing Eric Wheelsman has his back, aware that his dongsaeng is not up to date in whatever’s going on in the capital.
“I’m not sure if you’ve heard of them but that’s _____ Perduellio, known as Roan Kingdom's Medicus[1], and they are a northeasterner too. They have been adopted by the Perduellio family who is aligned with the Gyerre Duchy.”
The person in question was busy running around healing whoever they could. They were wearing a white robe that reminded Cale of Ancient Greece or Egypt[2]. However, this one looks more luxurious as unnecessary details have been added such as gold linings, sash, beads, and crystals.
Despite all those details what caught Cale Henituse's attention was not their clothing. Rather, the number of guards they have following them.
“It is said that they have a weak body so they have guards everywhere. The story was that the Perduellio couple encountered _____ on the streets when they were 4 years old and immediately felt a connection that’s why they were adopted. Then 5 years later, they manifested a healing ability that seems to be a blessing from the Sun God. Oh, they can also perform small light tricks. In fact, I think they were supposed to showcase some of it today.”
Midway through Eric’s words Cale had stopped paying attention. Instead, he observes the adopted Perduellio. Eric might say that the guards are there for _____’s safety, but to the redhead, it looks as though they are guarding a criminal.
‘Oh well it’s not like I’ll meet them anytime so not my problem’
…Cale spoke too soon.
After the plaza incident, Crown Prince Alberu requested for that very same person to be Cale’s healer. It was to strengthen that image of the crown providing the young master of the Henituse County with the best as he recovered.
While Cale understands and agrees with the intention, he has a hunch that this decision will smack him in the back later.
“Don’t worry young master, I know all information about young master _____ and have deemed them safe! Actually, the second child of the Perduellio family is said to be something akin to an unofficial maiden of the Sun God. The only reason it’s unofficial is because they are not officially affiliated with the Sun God Church as the Perduellio’s said their health would not be able to handle it.”
Cale, who is now relaxed and lying down on a bed meant for foreign officials, became a bit interested in this fact. Even though the Roan Kingdom has no official religion, families would still consider it a great honour if one of their relatives were deemed a saint or a holy maiden.
“The young master also doesn’t have to worry about political battles. Even though the Perduellios support the third prince, young master _____ is known for not taking any political sides. This is especially true when it comes to helping those in need. It is also why the young master is famous even with the common people.”
What Hans said brought some relief to Cale’s mind. He already has enough on his plate and he doesn’t want to add to it by joining a political strife. But even if he did he’s sure he could make the crown prince act as his shield.
Hans finishes his report by saying that Cale is to be healed 2 times before the King gathers everyone and makes a proclamation. Each session will last up to 30 minutes only. This was because the crown prince insisted that no guard shall enter Cale’s room while _____ is healing him. The limited time is the Perduellio County’s compromise as they reasoned they don’t want _____ to become sick.
“Humans are odd, why are they healing other people when they are sick? Well, you weak human also save people when you are weak yourself…”
Cale pays no attention to the black dragon’s ramblings in his head as he observes _____ who has come to heal him.
“That’s odd, I thought the guards were for that human’s safety. Why do they look more relaxed now that those guards are gone?”
He can’t hear anything. Cale can’t hear anything. Blah. Blah. Blah.
He doesn’t need to know any more unnecessary details that might potentially hinder his slacker life. He has already heard too much about the crown prince, no need to find out secrets about this healer that weren’t even mentioned in the book.
However, he can’t deny that the guards are acting odd. They are too strict with the time, and instead of it looking like they are worried. To Cale, it looks as if Roan's Medicus is a prisoner who’s granted limited visiting time.
During the two sessions everyone, Cale and the children averaging 7 years old, could tell that the healer knew that Cale was fine and didn’t need to be healed. This is more prominent by how the only thing they seem to be doing is removing Cale’s stomachache from eating while lying down and replenishing his energy.
Speaking of replenishing his energy.
The Vitality of the Heart works wonders when it comes to keeping Cale in tip-top condition 24/7. However, _____ makes him feel more refreshed. Every time the healer replenishes his energy he feels as though he has taken a particularly good bath. As if he was soaking in freshwater where the temperature was just right.
Weird considering that their power is supposed to be from the Sun God.
“Human this is weird! That human seems to be using a new power, but don’t worry this great and mighty being can tell that it isn’t dangerous!”
Maybe if Cale tries really hard enough then he will not hear unnecessary comments that can jeopardise his slacker life…
“This is our last session correct?”
“Yes, uhm as you already know young master Cale, this will be the last time I get to officially check on you. You seem to be fine now but try to rest if you can. I heard that you’re going sightseeing in the Ubarr territory, I hope the sea can help you relax.”
Their soft and gentle voice along with tempting words about resting, slacking off in Cale’s vocabulary, sounded like music to the young man’s ears. Unfortunately, his itinerary in the Ubarr territory doesn’t line up with the doctor’s prescription.
“Really weird… Now that I pay more attention to it, they kinda smell like you human…”
But first, Cale is going to pretend to be deaf for his sanity…
Also, smell? Again? Just what does he smell like? First, it was the crown prince, then it was this baby dragon. Why does everyone have questions regarding smell?
In any case, it’s not like they’ll meet again right?
Wrong again!
Cale was unfortunate enough to encounter the healer again while they were in the Dubori territory of the Caro Kingdom. Poor Cale was planning to pretend he didn’t see anything. But since his luck seemed negative, they made eye contact as soon as he thought of his great plan.
Well, it’s only right to properly greet his healer back in the capital right?
“I didn’t expect to see you here young master _____ much less without guards.”
“Ah no young master Cale, I still have them. They are just currently changing shifts so I have a few minutes to myself.”
A few minutes to themself… Perduellio’s adopted child said in their usual soft, gentle, and almost inaudible voice that Cale wouldn’t have caught it if they weren’t in close proximity. Cale had known since back at the capital how soft-spoken _____ was but didn’t expect that it would be this difficult to hear them.
However, he still caught and heard those words.
Words that again, sound as though there’s more to _____ than being the precious adopted child of the Perduellio’s family.
“However young master Cale, you look as though you are going beyond the territory walls. Please be careful as I’ve read about a phenomenon occasionally happening there.”
“What could that be?”
“I’ve read in an ancient text that dead mana rises there sometimes, but no one knows when it happens…”
_____ suddenly stopped speaking as they noticed a few things:
Their guards are coming over, and;
Tasha caught their eye
“Oh seems like my guards are here. Also, I would like to apologise as I didn’t realise…”
The usual prim and proper _____ is now rushing to get back to their guards making Cale unable to hear the last bit of their sentence.
Good thing the invisible black dragon did.
“Human! That weird human knows that Tasha is a Dark Elf! While they were bowing to you I heard them say ‘I would like to say sorry as I didn’t realize you have a Dark Elf with you’.”
What now? Cale couldn’t comprehend how _____, whose supposed power was only healing and light magic tricks could know. So he asked Tasha if any nobles knew about her.
“Me as a Dark Elf? No way young master, that’s like asking for a death sentence. However, I am a bit close to Perduellio’s blessed child. Even though they are blessed by the Sun God, their healing powers don't have any purification in them.”
Safe to assume that _____ has known about Tasha for quite a while now but hasn’t said anything.
Cale can feel an additional headache coming. He has a hunch that this would be far from the last time he deals with that healer.
And wouldn’t you know…
Not even a day later Cale encounters _____ again. This time it’s in the most unlikely place you’ll see a child of the Sun God would be.
The City of the Dark Elves.
Or the City of Life as they named it.
It was a peaceful morning, their stay in the City of Life was extended because of the dead mana rising. Despite that, Cale didn’t mind as he planned to take this chance to sightsee and talk to the necromancer.
“Young master Cale, young master _____ is now in our healing ward. I don’t know what happened to them but they seem to be in bad shape. I figured I’d let you know as they were your healer previously. I have also sent a message to the crown prince.”
…Who would have thought the first thing Cale gets to sightsee in this city of life is this world’s version of a hospital.
‘Ah damn it, why is my intuition always right?!’

It is Often that the Unexpected Happens
Chapter 7
Word Count: 2231
Summary: Ash the BeetleWing has died to what would later be called the Othermind. Unfortunately, by means outside his understanding, he has been brought back in 7426 as, far from his time, and far from the extinction of his tribe. He doesn't belong in this time, he misses his friends, and he knows that the friends he left behind aren't safe. With the help of Darner and Poseidra, Ash goes on a quest to return home.
< Prev
_________________________________
"Hey nerds, time to get going," Dewdrop joked.
Rainstorm and Ash looked up from the book Rainstorm was reading out loud.
Ash saw the dark sky, he had noticed it getting darker but he didn't want to interrupt Rainstorm. It was nice to see the sky was the same from his time, he appreciated the consistency. It was the only thing he was used to.
"Yep, we've gotta find that cave before sunrise," Poseidra said.
Ash got up and stretched, yawning, "yep, gotta find that cave of mirrors. Are you guys ready?"
"My wings are really sore but yeah," Darner said.
"Good, then let's go," Poseidra said, "I want to find that cave while we still have moonlight."
The group took to the sky, Darner grimacing in pain from his sore wings. Almost everyone looked tired, even Poseidra and Ray who had been relatively fine the whole time. · ·· · After a lot of flying and complaining Rainstorm stopped and flew in place for a moment, then spoke up, "uhh, guys, I think we found it."
The dragons looked down to see the lake that was described in Meishu's book. Crystals and cave entrance included. The dragons flew down to the cave. The lake was so clear that it perfectly reflected the night sky. It reflected the moons' light onto the large crystals in a way that they seemed to glow.
"Wow, this place is beautiful," Ray breathed, "if I had to live in or by a cave, this would be the perfect place."
"Damn right. So we just have to get some stones?" Darner asked, "how about we grab them from these pillars?"
Poseidra shook her head, "these would be too difficult to break, and we definitely can't carry them."
"It's not that bad, I want to see what's inside anyways," Ray said.
"Yeah, I'm excited to see inside this place," Rainstorm said, "I've read so much about this cave and now we're here."
Ash noticed Dewdrop looked nervous about something. Her tail was twitching and they were playing with their earring. Ash decided to help them.
Ash walked over to the RainWing, "hey Dewdrop, is something wrong?"
"Oh, err it's nothing of importance," Dewdrop said, straightening their posture, "don't worry about it Ash!"
"Alright, if everybody's ready let's go in," Ray said, stepping into the lake so she could enter the cave.
The rest of the group followed after into the cave. The cave was just as beautiful, walls covered in slick, highly reflective crystals which reflected the moonlight all throughout the cave system. Everyone looked around for crystals they could take, although Ash caught everyone looking into the crystals trying to see if the legend was true. Ash, too, looked but only saw himself.
As they walked deeper into the cave they came to a fork which forked to three paths. "Soo, I'm guessing we split up?" Darner asked the group.
"Yep," Poseidra said, "Dew, Rain, you go with each other, Darner, Ray, you two go with each other, me and Ash will go together."
"That sounds like a good idea to me," Ray said walking up to Darner.
The group split up, Ash and Poseidra taking the tunnel furthest to the left. They were quiet for a while, just looking at the stones. The only noise was the sound of water being walked in. As they got deeper into the tunnel things got darker and darker until it was hard to see anything.
Ash heard someone whisper to him, turned to Poseidra, and asked, "Poseidra? Did you say something?"
Ash waited a moment but got no response, so he repeated the question, louder, no response. He stopped and listened. He didn't hear the water moving unless he moved. He was alone.
Ash tried not to panic, maybe she was looking at something. Ash looked behind him, the tiny amount of light wasn't interrupted, she wasn't behind him. She was ahead then. So Ash continued forward.
Ash froze when he heard a whisper. He shivered, then spoke, "Poseidra, if this is you, please stop."
Still silent. No hint of life besides him. Ash jumped when he heard a voice right by his ear. What it said was indecipherable.
"This isn't funny Poseidra," Ash said, feigning anger, in reality he was becoming afraid. He should be seeing his true self, not feeling afraid. This couldn't be what he really was, right?
Ash heard another whisper and bolted further into the cave. He didn't think of where to go, he just wanted to get away from the whispers. He screeched to a halt when he saw a small light from in front of him illuminating a skinny face. A face that shouldn't be there. It was the face of a SeaWing from his time. His body immediately went defensive.
Ash backed up as fast as possible. The whisper was back but as a yell, this time Ash recognized the voice as Stag's, Ash turned to the voice and simply said, "Stag?"
Ash turned back to face the threat and it was gone. Ash tried to control his shaking, what was that? Why was it gone now? What was going on? "Poseidra? Are you nearby? Please…"
Ash felt one of his wings brush against something, he turned to that something and just sighed in relief when he saw nothing, just the cave wall. He looked at his reflection, he looked tired, very tired. He jumped when he saw something move in the reflection, whatever it was it was right behind him. It reached out and rested a talon on his shoulder.
He spun around to face it, and defend himself. Only to find a very disturbed looking Poseidra. She had a lot of visible concern on her face, "Ash. What happened?"
"What?" Ash asked, confused.
"Are you ok? You were muttering a lot, and you're shaking right now," Poseidra explained, "do you want to leave? I can go alone."
Ash paused for a moment, not sure, but he quickly decided he wanted to stay with her. He didn't want her to deal with this. Also he didn't want to be alone, "No. I'll stay"
"Alright then…" Posedra said before walking further into the cave, Ash followed her. The sound of Poseidra's talons moving through the water was both comforting and nerve wracking. On one talon, he knew he wasn't alone, on the other talon, he couldn't properly hear if someone else was there.
After some walking, the whispers started up again, just louder this time. He looked to Poseidra, she clearly heard them, her fur was puffed up and she was looking around like crazy. Ash looked into the mirrors again remembering the last time, and he saw himself again, he also saw… was that Poseidra? This reflection of her looked like a mix between the IceWings, BeetleWings, and the NightWings of his time.
Poseidra saw it too. She was staring at this reflection of herself with fear, repeatedly saying "no" he could see her panic growing. He wanted to help calm her down, but not only did he not know how, even if he could, his talons felt like they were rooted in place as he heard the voices of his dead friends whispering in his ears about how he failed, how he could have saved them. Honestly, Ash wasn't doing much better than Poseidra.
He needed to get out of here. Ash grabbed Poseidra's wrist and ran in a direction, he wasn't sure if he was getting closer or further from the entrance he just wanted to get away from this spot. Poseidra may have been saying something but Ash was tuning her out.
Ash stopped when he entered a large cavern with more tunnels. The tunnel had the same crystals he had seen everywhere, only smaller, easier to grab. Both dragons looked around, they didn't see any dragons. Just crystals and some glowworms on the ceiling.
"What. The FUCK was that?!" Poseidra yelled, "that was NOT my true self, if anything, that was my fears!"
"I don't know, let's just… get the stones, then get the others and leave," Ash said, walking up to one of the geodes.
"Gods, I hope they didn't go through that," Poseidra said, following after Ash, "also how was Rainstorm so wrong about this place?"
"I don't think Rainstorm has been here before, they probably got the info from someone else,” Ash stated simply.
“I know, just, hhh, so fucking done with this shit,” Poseidra said, “can’t wait to be done with this shit”
“What will you do once you’re done?” Ash asked the hybrid.
“Dunno. Probably get some therapy, might locate Nostalgia, live with them and their group like they said I could,” Poseidra said, “I just need the break from everything. What about you Ash?”
“Who knows, life in my time is pretty chaotic. Nothing like this, anything could happen,” Ash said.
“I hear that,” Poseidra said. She turned to the tunnels next to the one they came from as they heard familiar voices. This time it was a good familiar.
Poseidra and Ash watched as Ray and Darner exited one of the tunnels. Ray looked very disturbed (she had seen something for sure), while Darner just looked scared. He had a wing over Ray, which they seemed to appreciate right now.
“Hey guys, I see you didn’t have a better time than us,” Ash said.
“It was awful in there Poseidra,” Ray said, “and we have to walk back too. I am NOT excited.”
“I feel bad for Rainstorm and Dewdrop, from what I can see they’re like six years old, they shouldn’t have to deal with our shit,” Darner stated.
“Well, they should get here within the next minute, we’ll meet up with them, then we’ll all leave in the same tunnel,” Poseidra said, “I don’t want to stay in here, and I don’t want people entering the tunnels with only one other dragon.”
The dragons sat around quietly, occasionally breaking the silence with small talk. They had what they wanted from here, they just wanted to leave now. Ash, for one, couldn't wait. This cave was awful, and they just wanted to be home.
The dragons' heads turned towards the sound of more voices. Rainstorm and Dewdrop had finally arrived. They both looked relatively disturbed. Which, based on what Darner said, was understandable.
Dewdrop was the first of the two to speak, saying, "I see you guys beat us here."
"S-so did you g-get what you needed?" Rainstorm asked, very clearly wanting to be anywhere but here.
Ash felt bad for dragging his friends into all of this. They just wanted to help him and they were put through this bullshit. He wanted to have some reason to think otherwise, but he didn't. He brought other dragons into this, something he probably could have done himself, or if he hadn't brought his friends into his problem he could have had Calibri's help to do this shit instead of bringing five dragons into it.
"Ash. Ash! Ash!!" Ash jolted, hearing Ray's voice yelling at him. He turned towards her, he hadn't realized they were speaking, "Ash, are you alright?"
Ash looked up from the SeaWing, and saw the others looking concerned at him, he put up a weak smile, "yeah I'm fine, I just want to get out of this cave."
None of his friends looked convinced. It was understandable, he didn't think he could have constructed a worse lie. He was just glad none of his friends called him out on his lie.
"I agree, let's get out of here," Posidra said, "also, this time, let's not split up. That was an awful idea."
"You do not even have to request it, I'm pretty sure we all unanimously agree," Dewdrop said.
"Great, then let's get out of this cave and never return," Poseidra said, standing up and walking over to the cave Rainstorm and Dewdrop came from.
So the group walked through one singular tunnel. Ash prayed nothing scary would happen to such a large group of dragons, but he wasn't confident. Especially when the whispers started back up. On the plus side thanks mostly to Rainstorm and partially to Ray they had light, so the group could properly see.
Ash noticed the weird Poseidra reflection again. He also noticed Dewdrop looked different than they normally did. The dewdrop in the reflection was covered in scars, looking nothing like a dragonet. The Dewdrop in the reflection was avoiding actual Dewdrop's eyes. Ash got the feeling he wouldn't understand what he saw there, and he doubted Dewdrop would explain.
After a scare or two the dragons finally emerged from the cave into the light of dawn. Ash felt exhausted and he was sure everyone else felt the same. He was sure he could sleep for a thousand years.
"So, the Islands of Solitude are next right?" Ray asked.
"Yep, but we aren't going for a bit, I am exhausted and I just need a break," Ash said, "I'm sure we all need one."
"Agreed," Darner stated lying down out of the water.
Ash laid under the trees as the sun rose, drifting off. He fell asleep thinking about the Mirror Caves, but it wasn't like he didn't think about how close he was to home. After all, he was closer than he expected when he first woke up.

i think everyone saying we should go back to taking a screenshot or copying tags instead of saying prev is missing the entire point of prev. if i wanted to screenshot the tags and put them in a reblog i would do that! but not every tag needs to be preserved forever!! prev is me acknowledging that my jojo mutual who tagged a post with a jojo character was soo right and true and funny and smart without subjecting op and all my followers and everyone who will ever check the notes of the post to that jojo tag

A Special Favour
Part 9 of Memories of You
BOTW!Link x GN!Sheikah!Reader

AN: I got hit with writers block so this took me soo long to finish but i’ve finally got it. This is tha last chapter before the finale so enjoy the happy vibes while they last :’)
Summary:  The ceremony for a group of heroes unites the diverse group as the Champions of Hyrule and, later they unite in the best cure for the crushing weight of destiny. Laughter.
------
“Lead our Champions, Princess. And together, protect our kingdom from the threat of Calamity Ganon.”
Y/n stood with their fellow Champions in a small pavilion outside the castle. The ceremony had been the longest hours the Sheikah had ever spent standing around, and they had once spent 6 hours meditating over the sacred temple deep beneath the shrine of resurrection. It was to unify their spirit with the great elders that now resided in a secret shrine of the hero. Apparently it would only open when the time was right. Guess the impending doom of the rising calamity wasn’t enough to wake the monk from their sleep to oversee the trials.
Moving on from their painful memories of meditations, the Sheikah now stood watching Daruk stretch out his arms. He was moaning about how exhausting fancy events were- something Y/n could definitely agree with. They were more of an outdoors person. Nonetheless, the Sheikah Champion stood with their pinky linked through Links as they played with the new scarf they had received.
“Y’know, as boring as these uppity ceremonies are,” This drew the attention of the other Champions and the Princess to their white-haired friend. Revali scoffed at the dismissal of the ceremony, naturally being a fan of the boost such high praise gave his ego. “I do have to say I’m a fan of these tokens you made for us Princess.”
The mentioned princess bowed her head with a soft smile. “It was nothing, truly. I am merely showing my gratitude towards you as the Champions that will protect Hyrule from the calamity.”
Y/n grinned back, dragging Link over with them to the bashful princess. That poor girl needed to get used to praise and up her confidence. Good thing she had her loyal friends beside here- yes, even Revali. “Now now Princess, don’t forget that you’re one of those Champions that will protect Hyrule. Why I’d even say you and Mr. Hero over here have the biggest roles of us all. And before you get down on yourself for not unlocking that power of yours don’t forget that, with or without the sealing power, you are just as much a hero as us. We have the utmost faith that when the time is right, you’ll blast good ol’ bacon-breath away and free us all!”
“Y/n is right.” Urbosa stepped between the Hylian and Sheikah, lacing a warm hand on their heads. Y/n grinned as they received head pats from the tall woman, sticking their tongue out as the princess giggled at the sight. “You are just as valuable to us as we are to you. Don’t you ever forget that we have faith in your abilities whether that power shows itself or not.”
Zelda looked between her friends with a soft smile. Perhaps she could do even a fraction of what was expected of her as long as she had her Champions standing beside her. She allowed her eyes to fall upon the Sheikah who was now teasing Link with the same praise. Zelda giggled as she watched red paint the boys cheeks from Y/n holding his hand to their chest as they sung his praises. He was just as bad at taking the compliments as her. Especially when it was from Y/n. The Sheikah had a way of making people feel like they could do anything with their infectious energy and confidence.
Mipha was the one to change the topic, having been given the Sheikah slate from Revali. “Is it true that this device can create true-to-life images?”
“Yes!” Zelda made her way over to the Zora Princess to explain the use of the rune she spoke of. While they had not unlocked all the functions of the device yet, they had focused their efforts on mastering the ones available to them. As such, they were quite good at capturing these images for their compendium.
Mipha stared at the tablet in awed thought. “Princess… may I ask a special favour of you?”
------
And that was how the group of Champions stood on the grass in front of an excited Purah and Robbie who was waving his arms around as a form of direction. As per Mipha’s request, they were about to take a photo together to commemorate the day they were officially named the Champions of Hyrule.
“Daruk can you crouch down? You’re as big as death mountain.” With a hearty laugh, the Goron Champion leaned closer to the group. Y/n meanwhile, was too busy teasing their bird-friend after they had caught him changing his stance upon seeing it matched Urbosa. Revali was swatting away their hands as they poked at him, ignoring Purah directing the rest of the group to fit into the picture. “Y/n, you’re gonna need to leave him alone or we’ll never get this done!”
The mentioned Sheikah gave one last poke at the Rito, snorting at his huff when arms wrapped around their waist. Link had grabbed his partner, bringing them to his side instead of Revali’s then closing their hand in his grasp. Y/n looked at him with wide eyes as they felt heat crawl up their neck. They offered a sheepish grin at the boy, something he matched with his own flushed grin. The two seemed so lost in their moment that they missed the click of the camera. Purah cackled as she stared at the zoomed in picture she had taken of the pair locked in a love-sick stare.
“Stay just like that!” Y/n grabbed her friend and boyfriend by the hands grinning widely at the Sheikah Slate. They felt a squeeze from LInk, catching his soft gaze again. THey were drawn out of it by Purah calling for them again. “Now, Smiiile!”
Just as the shutter clicked the group was knocked forward by the giant Goron behind them. Revali let out a squawk as he was thrown into the Gerudo beside him. Urbosa smiled down at Mipha who was matching Revali in her shock. Y/n laughed as they were knocked into Link who was staring at them in surprise, an arm out to steady them.
As the group stumbled to regain their balance (and dignity for Revali) Purah and Robbie cackled at the image on the slate. Revali was the first to recover, spinning to face Daruk in indignation. His glare however, had the opposite result he had hoped for seeing as the Goron let out a booming guffaw. Y/n was the next to react, letting out a snort as they watched Revali’s feathers literally get ruffled by Urbosa and Daruk. Watching the chaos unfold amongst the diverse group, they became unified- not only in their roles- but in their bonds.
And together they laughed.
