I haven't felt very motivated to draw lately (what chronic fatigue does to a guy 😔) but I have cracked open my sketchbook a few times. Mostly to doodle TBC.

#I don't draw on paper much anymore tbh #bc now that i have the option to fully line and color things digitally if I'm gonna spend time on art I'd rather go all the way #but i probably should get back into the habit. it's relaxing sometimes to draw something without fussing over it #also i drew blackstar recently while bored during my break at work and tried to redraw him digitally later and it just doesn't look as good #it really is easier to get things the exact shape you want during the sketching phase #which is why i want to make my digital art a little more relaxed and lean into sketches for lineart #but it just never works? idk #I don't feel like I really have the mind or eye for art sometimes. idk how to explain it #I don't really know how to experiment with my style or make changes? how do people learn that #anyway I'm rambling #i really enjoy drawing but I'm pretty art blocked recently bc I'm so tired all the time and kinda feel like? idk how to draw? dunno #my art #shadowsight #bristlefrost #rootspring #snowtuft #lionblaze

#honkai impact #I'm really not a fan of the new design direction in honkai #its not because of the individual designs #most of them are fine in a vacuum #its just together they all just sorta blur together for me #and its especially noticeable given how fantastic most of the star rail designs have been #ive been watching witch from mercury recently and it really made me realize just how much i dont like mihoyos art style #for characters at least (big fan of their environments)#the characters in witch from mercury all wear pretty similar clothes (uniforms mostly)#but they all look SO distinct because they go so ham on the body shape and hair and eyes and face shape and everything else #every mihoyo lady just seems to be some pretty lady with long flowing hair and like-#its not objectively bad. continuing the trend of me drawing bea as i'm in the last few days of winter in my awl file, ( decided to include our pets, hanami and jiji, too. ) i did sneak a peak at year 4 and i'm really gonna miss seeing her at this stage of life a lot! 😭

It can definitely be different! The form reflects Bill, and he's a whimsical guy. No reason he'd stick with exactly the same shape every time.

I guess I've been thinking about how much you can glimpse about someone from their art, especially writing

I know it's not a 1:1 thing, it's not a "if you like writing whump you're a violent person IRL" situation lmao. But I've been thinking about how I'm afraid my writing is growing stale - maybe not in style, at least I hope not, but how I get obsessed over a few concepts and I keep recyclying them because I love thinking about them and elaborating them, even though that makes my writing even more niche

so it's like. why do i like it? does it say anything about me? or it's just not that deep and has the same value as liking chocolate ice cream?

Maybe it's just discourse that makes me a bit nervous about being judged. And I never even went full unhinged on main :^)

Decided to design matching diamond and netherite swords for my Minecraft skin

(did my best on the image description but if I’ve got any sword terminology wrong somebody please correct me)

Probably not (gestures at the cutout in the netherite one) I don’t want to think about practicality #god the netherite swords in the game are so… boring #diamond looks nicer just by being a pretty colour #Since the netherite armour gets special shapes the sword should too #I think it should have a fancy crossguard #but anyway for my version I just decided to toss some quartz and gold on there because. nether. and it needed some lighter colours #my art #Minecraft

Hey THG fans thanks to somone else on here (I'm so sorry but I can't remember the name of your blog) I've kind of become obsessed with making book accurate (or as close as I can get) picrews of Hunger Games characters & now that I'm done with Katniss & Peeta I wanted to show you all some other characters I've been working on. This is my interpretation of Delly Cartwright.

#the hunger games #thg #mockingjay #mj #delly cartwright #picrew #the hunger games picrew #thg picrew #mockingjay picrew #mj picrew #delly cartwright picrew #i know most people draw her with blue eyes because she dosn't come from the seam but tbh i think it's pretty unrealistic that every single #person in town would have blue eyes #like yeah they're white but the dna for blue eyes is still rare #also i personal find it makes the towns people kind of visually boring after a while as they start to look a bit clone like #i added freckles because for some reason she just gave me a freckled girl vibe #i originally created her with short hair & i actually think she looked even better like that but looking at the wiki it seems that #canonically her hair is long #and i know me giving her brown eyes & freckles was already pushing it wether people would recognise who she was supposed to be #i also made sure to make her bigger then madge because katniss dose describe her as “having weight to spare”#though in the context of the story she probably wouldn't actually seem all that big to us #i gave her curls because thats how katniss describes her usual hairstyle in mj #and as another way to differentiate between her & madge #which is also why i made sure that while both blonde their hair are different shades #i think she came out really cute #& i hope you like her #as much as i do #also i changed the shape of her face when she's in the d13 because katniss mentions how being orphand made her loose some weight #lastly i made sure she was smiling in almost every image because katniss describes that as one of her most defining traits
