I'm gonna say 2 things that are simultaneously true:
1. The Democratic party must change tactics in order to better reach and persuade the low-propensity, less informed voters that Trump ran the table with. Democratic leaders and operatives need to find a way to make these people feel more at home in the party.
2. I am not a democratic party leader, I am an internet rando, and am thusly at liberty to say FUCK THIS IDIOT COUNTRY. The United Dumbasses of America have truly done it again, putting their fee-fees above any hope of improving living conditions for the working people of this nation. 2/3rds of the country either didn't vote or voted for trump. What a damning indictment of our mouth-breathing republic.

i think in crucial times, devastating times like with the election and pivotal moments in history. Wars, Floods, Fires, etc. I think it’s important to take time to regulate your emotions before trying to help other people or before trying to address the public and speak about it.
I think the instantaneity of social media makes us feel like we hAve to pump out posts and tweets and talk on major events.
Either be inspirational, encouraging, positive about it or talk openly and passionately about it so people know you don’t stand for whatever is happening. And vice versa.
I think social media is a wonderful thing for so many good reasons because it connects us to everyone who has access to free internet, we get real time updates on important events, we find communities that make us feel seen, heard and valuable.
However, it isn’t perfect because those same communities we’re a part of can ridicule us, question us, and turn against us if we aren’t thinking before acting/speaking or quick enough to send in a response to something horrible going on in the world.
It’s what kept me off social media for so long. This pressure to be perfect and up to date on everything happening everywhere and make sure i have the right opinion on things and speak on it before the hour is up, because then it’ll be “old news” or you’ll be seen as “copying” someone else who’s said the same thing but 1.2seconds before you did.
It’s this action driven by fear of irrelevance.
If you’re too late to the news party, you’re irrelevant. If you’ve said the same thing as someone else— regardless of whether you knew they said it already— you’re irrelevant.
And in today’s day and age, relevancy is everything. That’s why we have “prime posting times” and trending hashtags. It’s this need to be relevant. It’s more important to us than having air to breathe because if I’m not relevant, “Why am I here?”
Yeah, it sounds silly when we say it aloud but I think it’s important to say it because it’s true and not everyone is aware that this is why social media does what it does to our mental health and self worth.
The internet is amazing and helpful in so many ways… but each of us are so much more than our tumblr blog or instagram page. I wish and I hope for a day when social media becomes less about the relevancy and popularity and more about the fun of sharing and finding communities.
You shouldn’t have to stress about saying the right things or being encouraging and posting enough especially during a crucial time in life where things look like shit. Take a pause, clear your mind, focus on your breath and just allow yourself to exist as a person outside of the internet. 🩷 We’ll still be here when you get back 🫂🩷

I wonder....
I wonder what upsets Liberals more? Someone who votes but votes third party for the president? Or someone who doesn't vote for the president at all? Granted, I am sure regardless votes third party or doesn't vote president, they would be more upset with said person if they live in a swing state.

Just to be clear, Kamala conceded with grace and dignity but it is still well within everyone’s right to demand an investigation and even a recount with due cause despite a winner being declared. U.S.Americans have the right to demand free and fair elections (we don’t have a right to, say, start an insurrection like certain people did after the 2020 election).
Many, including major swing states, (Nevada, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and more) have already admitted to data and ballots not being recognized or lost and are recounting or calling for a recount. It usually takes days to count and record votes, a day after a bunch of election tampering is not enough.
If you used a mail-in ballot and haven’t yet, check if it was actually counted and “recognized.” A lot of mail-in voters from swing states found out that their ballots were uncounted today.

A Pragmatic and surprisingly comforting perspective about the Trump 2nd Presidency from the ACLU
***Apologies if this is how you found out the 2024 election results***
Blacked out part is my name.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m not going to let this make me give up. It’s disheartening, and today I will wallow, probably tomorrow too
AND
I will continue to do my part in my community to spread the activism and promote change for the world I want to live in. I want to change the world AND help with the dishes.
And I won’t let an orange pit stain be what stops me from trying to be better.
A link to donate to the ACLU if able and inclined. I know I am

With Kamala/Walz going up DAILY, I've seen more people talking about voting third party/Jill Stein (EW) and I believe the above screencaps from @three--rings can explain WHY Third Party votes NEVER work NOR is this the election to screw around in.
Everyone....like she says above.....PLEASE LEARN FROM HISTORY!!!
(Because if Trump gets in, he's NEVER LEAVING).

"Riddle me this, Senator Vance: You can sit on it. You'd might like to ride it. But you wouldn't like to sleep on it. What is it?"
"A couch?"
"No, Senator Vance... a horse. The answer is a horse."
