Cadybear's MC Wardrobes: Evie Ayana, OG HSS Book 1 (Part 1). Featuring some edits by me!

This is a new series that was inspired by @tveitertotwrites's Outfit Replacements Series.

How this series goes: With each book, for a MC I'm invested in, I'll assess each of their in-game outfits. How much do I like or dislike the outfit? Is this something that suits my MC's style, or does it make me go "My MC would NOT wear/own this"? And for the outfits that my MC would not wear or own, how would I alter or replace them? I'm not going to use screenshots from the actual game because I can't be arsed. Also I want to use the different sprite expressions to express how my MC would feel about each outfit.

I like to think this is a good opportunity to elaborate on my MCs' dress styles, and show off some edits :D

First up, we'll be assessing the wardrobe from OG HSS Book 1, for the one and only, my beloved Evie Ayana! However, I've had to make this into two parts because of Tumblr's 30 image limit.

Directory for the other parts will be included in the reblogs after I've completed the posts for all books!

Ch 1: "Sweet Dreams" Pajamas

The pants are nice and 100% in Evie's style. Evie LOVES soft fuzzy textures and loose cozy soft pants.

The camisole top, on the other hand, is... not really her taste. It's a bit too short, and the lace trim isn't quiiiite her thing.

Verdict: Only partly in Evie's wardrobe. Alter by replacing the top.

Here's what this outfit would look more like in Evie's style. As well as some alternate pajamas she'd have, because she would absolutely adore those mint-colored smiley-face ice cream pajamas.

Ch 1: "Cool for School" Starter Outfit

Perfect. All the yes. Very gender. Especially the smiley face button and the kitten button. 100%, Evie's fall casual outfit. (I kind of like also that both she and Emma wear tops with horizontal stripes for their fall casual outfits)

Verdict: Part of Evie's wardrobe, and is Evie's official fall casual outfit. Keep it as is.

Ch 1: "Morning Jog" Starter Outfit

Not bad, but the sweater top is definitely far too short for Evie. She doesn't cares much for leggings also, she far prefers slightly loose soft pants.

Verdict: Not quite part of Evie's wardrobe. Alter by lengthening the sweater and stretching the leggings.

Here's what this outfit would approximately look more like to suit Evie's tastes (yeah, unfortunately some of these outfits don't like it when I use the Liquify tool to stretch them). This one, she'd love as an outfit for pajamas, lounging around the house, or for a cool day workout.

Ch 1: "Cardi Cute" Starter Outfit

This outfit truly is super cute, I love the floral pattern and the heart necklace and so would Evie. This is one of the few more fem-leaning outfits Evie would be comfortable wearing– she is okay with skirts or dresses every now and then, so long as A) they're loose/flowy, B) mid-thigh length or lower, and C) absolutely no leg/thigh slits.

However, she'd far prefer this as a spring casual outfit. Something more flowery, light, and carefree like this outfit is far better for spring, both weather wise and aesthetic wise.

Verdict: Part of Evie's wardrobe. Keep it as is (but use it only in Book 3).

Ch 1: "The Bombshell" Premium Starter Outfit

I love this floral print, and so would Evie. But this length of top is not her style, and neither is the choker(?)-style necklace.

Evie doesn't really care for midriff/belly-revealing outfits unless they allow her to put her abs on display (and even then, she's still very picky about the style), and, well... obviously the in-game f!MC sprite does not have abs. PB give us muscular f!MC options challenge (failed).

Of course, even if the sprite did have abs, the top wouldn't really show them. So it's not worth the diamonds to me.

If it was longer? I absolutely would spend the diamonds (though probably for it to be a spring outfit).

Verdict: Only partly in Evie's wardrobe. Alter by lengthening the top and making the choker necklace into a regular necklace.

Here's what this outfit would approximately look more like to suit Evie's tastes.

Ch 1: "Dare to be Different" Premium Starter Outfit

Evie would love this shade of blue and definitely would own the necklaces. She might find the flower crown cute (but probably wouldn't wear it much).

However, both the dress on its own and the outfit as a whole are not her style at all. Especially not the yellow leggings. They do not look good with this color dress.

And it feels more like a semiformal/party outfit to me anyways, so yeah. Maybe some other MC I make would like this, but not Evie.

Verdict: Only partly in Evie's wardrobe. Keep the jewelry and the flower crown for other potential outfits, but ditch the rest.

Ch 2: "Summer Fling" Premium Outfit for Brian's Pool Party

NOPE! Absolutely not! The style of top combined with how short it is, is not for Evie at all. And you wouldn't catch her DEAD in short shorts.

She might like some of the jewelry, though. But that's about it.

I could edit or alter this one, by replacing the shorts with jeans and then making a longer version of the top... but even then, I don't think this kind of top is quite her style.

Verdict: Evie would NOT own this. Replace entirely. Keep the jewelry for other potential outfits, but ditch the rest.

The outfit that m!MC gets is much more her style. May not be as attention-grabbing, but it's her way of being the hottest girl at the pool party. Though she would also be the type to just show up to the party in her regular casual outfit. That works just as well too.

Also, here's that edit of Aiden in the outfit again because I like it better on him. <3 <3 <3

Ch 2: Swimsuit

I like this pattern print and so would Evie. And she'd definitely love to wear a bikini to show off her abs. Though... preferably with a pair of swim trunks. That style of bikini bottom is just a HUGE no-no for Evie. I mean, she probably would wear it for comfort, but just underneath her swim trunks

Also, the bracelets... they're cute, but they're a rather odd addition to this outfit. IDK.

Verdict: Technically part of Evie's wardrobe, but needs the addition of an extra piece. Keep the outfit itself as is, but alter by putting swim trunks over the bottoms.

Here's what this outfit would look more like to suit Evie's tastes. Plus an alternate swimsuit that I headcanon she'll wear in other events.

Ch 6: Football Uniform

My baby jock girl in her first uniform. The utter joy expressed in the slow-printing "My first uniform!" text in the scene is so absolutely deserved.

Look at her. So gender. I'm so proud of her.

Verdict: Technically not in Evie's wardrobe because you have to return uniforms at the end of the season, but the point is, Evie would love wearing it. Keep it as is.

The football uniform is, of course, determinant on activity choice. Even though Evie's canon is being a jock in all three books, I'll also review the band and cheer uniforms, because I can.

BONUS ROUND: Ch 6: Band Uniform

So snazzy! In the AU where Evie joins band, she would absolutely rock this outfit. Especially the top.But I don't think she'd like wearing it for the outdoors band practices on hotter days.

Verdict: Technically not in Evie's wardrobe because you have to return uniforms, but the point is, Evie would love wearing it (in the band!Evie AU). Keep it as is.

BONUS ROUND: Ch 6: Cheer Uniform

Evie's going to second Jade Ali on this one: "You won't catch me dead wearing one of those tiny skirts".

Verdict: Technically not in Evie's wardrobe because you have to return uniforms, but either way, Evie would NOT wear this. Alter by replacing the skirt with pants and lengthening the top.

If Evie did cheer (it's not quite her thing, but she isn't completly closed to the idea), she'd much rather wear pants like in the m!MC's cheerleader uniform. But would still want a sleeveless top, to better show off her biceps.

Ch 9: "Eye of the Tiger" and "Hear My Roar" Premium Tiger Mascot Suits for the pep rally

Both of these are pretty good, I think Evie would really dig that white one. But at the same time, I'm not fully sure she would be up to wearing a mascot outfit. She'd be worried about how hot and sweaty it'd get in there.

But at the same time, I also want that scene where she accidentally throws a school logo t-shirt into Aiden's face. Especially since it parallels with a later scene later on in the same chapter where he accidentally hits her with a crumpled up ball of paper.

Verdict: Keep both outfits as they are, but whether or not Evie would wear them is still being decided. Come back to this later.

Ch 11: "Garb of the Enemy" Premium Disguise for sneaking into Hearst

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Nah

Aside from the comfy-looking jacket and the cute bow, this just isn't Evie's style (though at least the skirt isn't as small, lmao).

I think she'd also question why no one else in the group can wear a disguise, and would doubt the ability of this outfit to truly disguise her.

So to her, it wouldn't be worth it to wear this. Have Julian be the fake Hearst cheerleader instead tbh. I mean, he did do that in Prime once. It'd be a pretty neat little bonus callback, especially considering the more mature Choices!Julian likely wouldn't be as embarrased about it as Prime!Julian was.

Verdict: Evie would NOT wear this, not even for the temporary questionable disguise. But she would only partly own it. Keep the jacket and bow and maybe alter it for a different outfit (Mia probably would let her), but ditch the rest. Let Mia burn it later lol. Well, after Julian wears it as a disguise.

Now, Max's letterman jacket for the m!MC on the other hand... Evie would still be unsure about being the only one in a disguise and its effectiveness as a disguise, but it suits her much better and she'd be more willing to wear it. I mean, just look at her!

Review: Sudowrite Story Bible

Before you get out the torches and pitchforks, I only went to check out Sudowrite, the AI writing platform, because of my credit card statement. My wife - who doesn't even write! - bought it to try it out for fanfics (disclaimer: she is dyslexic).

I haven't tried it before even though my stance on AI is pretty neutral (I don't hate it or love it, I think it's good for some applications but makes a lot of mistakes) because it's fairly expensive. The cheapest plan is $19.99/mo, and it bills in credits, which is actually a good thing, but it makes budgeting cost confusing.

The Tl;dr is it's actually pretty impressive, even before I looked at the community plugins. It depends if you can afford it, and how you plan to use it.

I've tried the writing feature and I still think AI isn't ready for prime time here, even with a premium model like ChatGPT 4o. As I've said before, people get big mad here that AI is going to be used to write novels as if a) they wouldn't be bad and repetitive without human intervention and b) like they wouldn't cost a fortune to make.

I maintain AI is good for shortcuts. People are fond of saying they want AI to do chores for them, not make art. But writers, are there not parts of writing that are chores? Instead of me reading about trees that grow in Massachusetts and how an antrhopologist would be an expert on demigods, why not just ask AI to give me some nuggets so I can move on with my life and you get some nice, enriching details?

So with that, I want to talk about (for me) the coolest feature of Sudowrite, which is the story bible set of tools.

There are a few components to the story bible: braindump, genre, style, synopsis, characters, worldbuilding, and outline. You work on them in that order, and after doing the first couple, some of the others can be generated.

I started with Braindump: you just put whatever the story is about, up to 2000 words. I whipped up this premise:

"In the vein of Stephen King's "The Dark Half" and the erotic stylings of Tabico, this is the story of Ted Stryker, a mild-mannered freelance journalist living in the Pacific Northwest with his wife Elaine and his college student son, Joshua. Ted is working on his magnum opus, a children's book about unicorns and soft-serve ice cream, when he hits writer's block. Ted's world starts to unravel as his past comes to haunt him in the form of Otto, the pen name alter ego he used when writing dark mind control and corruption stories on Tumblr years before."

Each section tells you which other sections they affect. For example, Braindump affects Synopsis and Beats. For genre, you can put up to 40 words, I put: "Psychological horror, suspense, erotica, hypnosis, mind control, corruption, dark humor, supernatural"

Style is interesting, you can prompt a style, but it also lets you upload a 2000 word sample of your own writing to match style. Here's what it said about Coven, Part V:

**Analysis of Writing Style** **Tone and Mood:** The tone is dark, intense, and foreboding, creating a sense of urgency and danger. The mood oscillates between tension and arousal, with an underlying feeling of betrayal and impending doom. The emotional atmosphere is charged with anger, lust, and a sense of loss of control. **POV:** The piece is written in the third-person limited point of view, primarily focusing on Lilith's internal thoughts and feelings. The narrative shifts to a more omniscient perspective at times, particularly when describing the actions and emotions of other characters, such as Helen and the coven. **Vocabulary and Word Choice:** The vocabulary is rich and evocative, with a mix of formal and informal language. The author employs strong, visceral imagery and figurative language, particularly in descriptions of power dynamics and physical sensations. Words like "sanguine," "impaled," and "exquisite" contribute to the dark and erotic tone. **Sentence Structure:** The sentence structure varies, with a mix of complex and compound sentences that build tension. Short, punchy sentences are used for emphasis during moments of high emotion, while longer, descriptive sentences create a more immersive experience. The use of fragments adds to the urgency and emotional weight of certain passages. **Pacing and Rhythm:** The pacing is dynamic, alternating between fast-paced dialogue and slower, more introspective moments. The rhythm builds during climactic scenes, with shorter sentences creating a sense of urgency, while longer passages allow for deeper exploration of characters' emotions and motivations. **Dialogue:** The dialogue is sharp and impactful, reflecting the characters' personalities and emotional states. Lilith's speech is filled with disdain and anger, while Helen's dialogue is manipulative and seductive. The use of direct address and confrontational language enhances the tension between characters. **Descriptive Style:** The author employs vivid sensory imagery to create a strong sense of place and emotion. Descriptions are detailed and often graphic, particularly in the portrayal of physical sensations and the supernatural elements. The use of metaphor and simile enhances the emotional depth of the narrative. **Themes and Motifs:** Recurring themes include power, betrayal, and the struggle between control and submission. The motif of darkness and the supernatural is prevalent, with references to demonic forces and the coven's rituals. The exploration of desire and the consequences of giving in to one's darker impulses is central to the narrative. **Cultural and Historical Context:** The piece appears to draw on contemporary themes of empowerment and the exploration of sexuality, set against a backdrop of witchcraft and the occult. You're allowed to edit this before the next step, which condenses it into 40 words. "The style is dark and immersive, using rich vocabulary and vivid imagery. It employs a third-person limited POV in present tense, with dynamic pacing and sharp dialogue, exploring themes of power, betrayal, and female empowerment within dark fantasy."

You have the choice to generate items for the remaining sections: Synopsis, Characters, Worldbuilding, and Outline. I generated the Synopsis and you get an expanded version of the braindump. At each step, you can edit the output to feed the next section:

Ted Stryker was a mild-mannered freelance journalist living a quiet life in the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest with his wife Elaine and teenage son Joshua. To the outside world, he was the picture of domestic bliss and creative inspiration, working tirelessly on his soon-to-be masterpiece - a whimsical children's book celebrating the joys of unicorns and soft-serve ice cream. But beneath the surface, darkness stirred. Ted was haunted by his past indiscretions, a dark secret that threatened to unravel the carefully constructed facade of his idyllic life. Years ago, under the anonymous pen name "Otto," Ted had indulged in writing lurid tales of mind control, corruption, and psychological horror on the underbelly of the internet. What had started as a harmless creative outlet soon became an obsession, a twisted desire to push the boundaries of decency and revel in the depravity of human nature. Joshua, now trapped in a waking nightmare as he witnessed his parents' descent into depravity, realized he needed to escape before it was too late. With his best friend Kenzie—who harbored an unrequited crush on him—he plotted their departure from the increasingly twisted town that had become a prison of madness. In a climactic showdown that blurred the boundaries of sanity, Ted was forced to confront the demons of his past and the monstrous entity that Otto had become. As he embraced the darkest recesses of his psyche, he found himself ensnared in a web of his own creation, a prisoner of his most depraved impulses. As Joshua and Kenzie made their desperate bid for freedom, they left behind a shattered family forever altered by the harrowing ordeal. Ted's children's book, once a symbol of innocence and whimsy, now stood as a twisted monument to the fragility of the human mind and the dangerous power of our darkest urges—an eerie reminder of what had been lost in their descent into darkness.

My favorite part of this is referring to Tumblr as the "underbelly of the Internet" like it's the darkest of the dark web. Perfect characterization. If you want you can provide input and hit Rewrite Synopsis and it will refine based on your feedback. Like I decided at this point it was wise to age up the son (I was thinking about The Shining but forgot King also wrote IT, in which kids do, uh, some adult activities) and give him a bestie/love interest.

I generated characters. Honestly, I could use the AI write now because I'm getting tired of typing this review. It will give each character Personality, Background, Physical Description, and Dialogue Style sections, in case you want your character to talk like Sling Blade. Additional traits can be added, and at this point it's likely the AI will make up some characters you didn't tell it to and possibly duplicate one, so give this section a critical eye.

I kind of rushed through Worldbuilding but in some cases it's the most useful section for me, as I find this type of legwork tedious when I write. There are items here for Setting, Organization, Lore, Key Event, Clue, Magic System, Item, Technology, Government, Economy, Culture, Religion, and Custom.

Finally, there is the outline. You can choose from a few generasted templates, depending on the type of story. I have read Story Circle is best for shorter works, since I don't know if there is enough here to write a novel(!). True to form, it gave me 4 acts with 2 chapters each.

Like with Synopsis, there is a textbox here to rewrite the outline. I gave it the following feedback:

Starting in Act 3, have Ted and Elaine attempt to corrupt Kenzie. Rewrite Chapter 8 so that Ted dies in the conflict, sacrificing himself to take Otto with him. The story ends with Josh and Kenzie leaving Bend, but Kenzie is reading Otto's stories on Tumblr, setting a downbeat ominous ending.

It did what I asked, having Ted and Elaine approach Kenzie as early as Chapter Five, and ending with Kenzie reading Otto's smut (at least someone is).

You can then start a document from each chapter, and it will link them back to the outline. You can write or generate story beats, and then generate prose from those beats. If you use the default model (which is GPT 4 Turbo) it's a fortune, I switched it to Mistral 7B Instruct because it can still do spicy and I'm cheap (it's like 3% of 4 Turbo cost).

The result is just okay, but this is the part where you should be actually writing something if you haven't already. From here you can use the common features: ask it to continue on from where you are, rewrite something you already wrote, describe with sensory details, or brainstorm through a plot hole.

As demonstrated above, the cost depends on how much data you send to the AI, and which model you use. That sucks if you just want to know how much it costs. But it is nice because you have access to all the models, and sometimes, you really want a more creative model to reword something for you. In other products that are tiered, that's not always an option - you get unmetered access but only to certain models.

Anyway, if you made it this far, you deserve a cookie. I haven't fully decided if I want to get this - I already did a lot of the legwork on my WIP - but it might help me with worldbuilding and dialogue, and help bump up my output. But there's definitely utility here, even if not value.

Hey Molly, it’s been a while since I messaged you about the Aussie chocolate ice spotted here in the U.K.. But I feel I have to today having seen a Cadbury’s Perky Nana??!!!? I mean…banana tasting chocolate sounds gross so I didn’t get one. I’m also assuming it’s pronounced like the end of the word ‘banana’ and not like a name for one’s granny...? We also had several more varieties of caramilk, this time including “caramilk slices hedgehog”, which, well, looked nice but the travel premium (I presume) meant it was a wee bit expensive. I did however buy a Cadbury’s ‘Boost Layers’ which was absolutely delicious.

So the Perky Nana (you’re right on the pronunciation) actually comes from New Zealand but we do have them here as well and they are 👌🏻👌🏻 Yhe banana bit is almost like taffy and they’re great. Though Pineapple lumps are way better.

Caramilk hedgehog I do recommend also. I should take a photo of all the caramilk varieties we have next time I’m in coles. We also have caramilk ice creams and cakes etc. it’s really expanded 👌🏻👌🏻

Marinette smiled into the sky as she breathed in the pre-school day air. After Penny's akumatization, she had managed to start compartimentalizing her life, and now she was up to date with all her schoolwork, her commissions were going perfectly (Jagged Stone had even made a request for a jacket, paid with a premium to apologize for what had happened), her friends were just fine...

“Hey, did Alya, um–” she heard Nino, and she turned to see him speaking with Kim and Max.

“Interrogate me? Yes,” Kim said with a chuckle, and Max gave Nino a look of pity.

“Oh, you too?”

Wondering what was happening with Alya, she decided to get the questions straight from the horse's mouth, and went over to where her friend was... along with a suspicious column of smoke.

“Alya! Good morning! What are you doing?”

Alya turned, and Marinette realized that she was writing so fast that the notepad was actually starting to smoke.

“I've been talking to anyone who's ever met Scarlet Lady ever, getting testimony after testimony after testimony, Marinette!” Alya replied in a manic tone, even as she was wondering if she should keep the emergencies number in hand in case the notepad caught fire. “There are so many inconsistencies! So MANY!”

“S-Sorry to hear that,” she replied. Yeah, the discovery of Scarlet Lady's real self had hit Alya hard.

Fortunately, Alya was able to calm down, and put a hand on her shoulder.

“And now, I'm about to do something I swore I'd never do again.”

“Oookay?”

Goodness, Alya was starting to scare her juuuuust a little bit.

And then Alya went over to speak with...

“Lila.”

“What?” the Italian girl asked. “Come to rube the new Fox Hero in my face?”

Alya pulled out her cellphone and aimed it at Lila.

“I need to interview you about why you hate Scarlet Lady for the Ladyblog.”

Marinette knew (with good reason) that Lila hated Scarlet... but she thought that her starry expression might have been a tad too much.

As a smiling Lila clang to a bemused Alya's arm, Nino decided to be a braver man and approached his girlfriend.

“Babe, can you cool Ladyblog Mode by this afternoon so we can hunt down André's ice cream?”

Alya sighed, but nodded.

“Yeah, sure.”

“Wanna join us, Marinette? Mylène and Ivan are coming.”

“Wouldn't that be awkward, me being single?” she asked, but then Adrien came by.

“Not at all! I'm going too,” he said, patting her shoulder. “It can be, uh, platonic! You know, if you want.”

“Oh, great!” She pulled out her cellphone. “Then let's invite Luka and Kagami! Since it's a friend outting!”

Adrien felt the tears drop as his attempt to subtly ask his crush out crashed and burned.

“Rose, Juleka, you're not coming?” Marinette asked the girls, who hadn't intervened in the conversation.

“Hm?” Rose hummed.

“Oh, no,” Juleka replied.

“André always thinks we're just 'girly friends'.”

“Friends doing friend things.”

“~Gals Being Pals~” the girls sang together.

“I guess André has some antiquated ideas about love,” Marinette commented.

“Tell me about it,” Alix pitched in. “My aro-ass gave him a full-on mental breakdown.”

Everyone turned to look at the athletic girl.

“Why do you look proud of that?” Marinette asked.

“Street ice cream? Adrien's taste has been downhill lately.”

Nowadays, Tikki only had one wish.

Not having to deal with Chloé.

She'd happily go back into the box as long as she didn't have to deal with Chloé nonsense.

But since she couldn't get that, she'd have to do what she could.

“Yeah, you're right, we should just have ice cream at the hotel–”

“Nice try,” Chloé interrupted. “I'm having that matchmaker ice cream with Adricheri!”

As always, reality had a hard time taking root in Chloé's brain. The facts that (a) Adrien disliked, possibly even hated, her, and (b) she hadn't been invited to join them, were just things to be ignored.

She needed holidays.

“Adrien, your father forbids you from going out,” Nathalie stated.

“Oh, nooo.”

“And he'll be eating in his office.”

“Bummer.”

As Nathalie left, closing his room's door behind herself, Plagg came out of his hideaway while Adrien walked up to the piano.

“Man, Plagg, it sucks that Adrien isn't allowed out,” he said.

“U-huh.” Could his kitten be more obvious about his intentions?

“And that Adrien has to practice piano,” Adrien continued, turning on the music to sound like a piano.

“Sure.” Seriously, the kid was milking it already.

“And that Adrien–”

Alright, time to cut this off.

“I get it already, just suit up!”

Fortunately, sneaking out of the mansion was easy, and he had quickly tracked down his friends thanks to the message they had sent him.

And the last person to arrive just did so a minute after him.

“Kagami! You made it!” Marinette happily exclaimed as he waved at her.

“Oh nooo~!” Kagami said in a faux-concerned tone. “Looks like the fencing team strategy meeting isn't here. Seems like I've given my mother the wrong information~”

“Ha!” he fired back, giving her a smug grin. “I snuck out behind Père's back! He thinks I'm back in my room playing piano!”

“Dammit!” Kagami cursed, shaking a fist at him. “You've bested me again, Agreste!”

“Why have you turned being a delinquent child into a competition?” Nino asked in shock.

While they waited at the queue for the ice cream, Luka checked on Marinette.

“Marinette, do you believe in 'lovers' ice cream'?”

“Hm? Well...” Marinette replied, clearly going back into memory lane. “It's how my dad proposed to my mom, so in my house it's special.”

“I see.” He didn't fully believe in the idea, but he had to agree that it was a nice one.

“But then, I think 'being in love forever' is more of a my parents thing than a magic ice cream thing.”

Luka laughed.

“Well, it'd be pretty weird not to believe in magic these days,” he replied, poking a smiling Marinette's cheek.

Business was booming for the day already! And here came some of his favorite clients: teenagers. While they were in a stormy part of life, many times their love was the purest, the easiest to craft an ice cream for, and the ones that became happier with their ice creams.

And the first here were two of his favorites, too!

“Mylène the soft and Ivan the strong!” he announced, quickly putting together their cone. “Chocolate, praliné, and white nougat! Perfect for a princess and her knight.”

The two thanked him and paid for the cone before moving away and letting the next in line to ask for a cone. He didn't know them, but already he knew what was meant for them.

“First timers?” he still asked, his hands moving on their own as he took in the happy duo, his arm over her shoulders, her arm behind his back.

“Yep!”

“Lemon! Banana! And passion fruit!” he said, giving them their cone. As they retreated to enjoy it, he went back to his cart.

“And who's next for André's matchmaker ice cream–”

And when he opened his eyes, he found four teenagers eagerly waiting for an ice cream.

“Huh?”

Great, now the magic wasn't working correctly.

“Um... uh...”

Alright, maybe if he could just go one by one...

“What's your name, pretty little miss?” he asked the Japanese girl he hadn't met yet.

“That is not your concern,” she bluntly replied.

“Huh?”

“What's my concern is your lack of gloves. It's incredibly inconsiderate of your clientele not to post your location yourself. And you decide the flavor? What about allergies? And what about–”

Abort, abort, abort!

“Might I interest you in a Marigold cone from the secret menu?!”

The girl happily took it and stepped away with a smile.

“I do believe in magic!”

“Heh!” he mumbled, wiping away his sweat, as the blue-haired boy stepped forward.

“Platonic ice cream please.”

“No need to be coy, kiddo!” he said, attempting to prevent another derailing from happening.

“No thanks. I don't believe in soulmates.”

“What?! Come, now, everyone's got someone!”

“Sure, but the best relationships are the ones we work on, which is why I'd like to share with my friends,” the boy passionately stated, much to his confussion.

“But my ice cream can unite you with your true love! Like your maman and papa!”

The boy's face turned thunderous, and he realized he may have stepped on a mine he hadn't seen.

“I don't have a papa.”

Alright, he had screwed up.

“Er, one friendship ice cream, coming right up.”

----

The two couples, meanwhile looked at the soon-to-be-chaos with worry.

“Uhhh, maybe next time we should just bring couples,” Alya suggested sotto voce at the others.

“I hope they don't break André,” Mylène begged.

----

He felt it a second too late.

Namely, the second it took for her to close the distance and tackle him like a rugby player.

But worse.

At least a rugby player didn't try to leave your face full of lipstick and slobber.

“Adridarling! I found you!”

“Again?!”

Why did she keep ruining every time he was out with Marinette and their friends?!

“You're having lovers' ice cream, right?” Chloé simpered. “Perfect for us!”

Oh. Oh, no. Oh, FUCK, no.

“NO!” he shouted as he attempted to shove her off, but somehow she had managed to grab his left arm, and his attempts to escape only served to drag her behind.

“Well? Hurry up, ice cream man, give it to us!” Chloé told André, once more showing off her skills at not reading the situation.

“Why are you so strong?!” he growled, shaking his only free arm as he tried to get the leverage to escape her death grip.

“Huh?! Uh–” André said, a bit confused. “You–!”

“Hm? Oh, you're stunned by my beauty.”

My god, how does Chloé keep getting more self-absorbed?!

Because André's face looked less stunned and more overwhelmed by something else entirely.

If he could take a bet, it would be that he was shocked at the level of her narcissism.

“I understand, it's a lot to take in.”

André was clearly struggling to understand what was meant to be the next, but he managed to put together a cone and presented it to him.

“H-Here! Strawberry lemonade with chocolate chips and blueberry!”

“Wait, isn't that–” Marinette pointed out, shocked.

“A Scarlet Lady cone?!”

Only Chloé would get so enthusiastic about that.

“NO!”

André looked absolutely crushed by the denial.

“N-No?”

“Sorry, André, but I absolutely cannot accept that ice cream.”

Either André's magic was on the fritz or he had aimed at the wrong person.

“B-But–”

He was about to explain the reasons behind his decision – seriously, who would want that cone (other than Scar herself, obviously) – but then the second catastrophe of the afternoon showed up.

“Adrien Agreste?! It's Adrien Agreste!”

He had seen this one a couple of times at events. He didn't know his name, but he did know that he was the closest to a loony fan he had. Seriously, he even wore the same clothes he did!

And, of course, he had to shout his name to all and sundry. He could already see people pulling out their phones.

“DANGIT!”

Meaning that his free time had run out way too soon.

“Sorry, gotta go!” he shouted, and (taking advantage of Chloé finally letting go) he ran as fast as he could for home.

“W-Wait! André's ice cream!” he heard Chloé yell behind him.

“NO!”

----

When she entered Adrien's room, Nathalie was mildly surprised to see Adrien at the piano, playing so hard and fast that he actually seemed to be... sweating?

“Adrien? I saw a post about you being outside at the Pont–”

“Hahaha, how could that be possible when I've been here the whole time?!” Adrien interrupted her, very quickly.

Suspiciously quickly.

“... right.”

----

Even though Adrien had had to leave rather abruptly – thank you very much Chloé – everyone decided to enjoy their ice cream as best as possible.

Well, Marinette was getting a bit of Luka's friendship ice cream, since André had left as well, heartbroken that his work had been rejected.

Of course, the one person they all wanted to leave was the one that stuck around.

“Mon Choukaaa~ share with me!” Chloé begged. Luka's disgusted face should have told her everything.

“Lord, no,” he replied, before Kagami interposed herself between Chloé and Luka.

“Back off, Bourgeois,” she told her off. “A person who comes uninvited shouldn't impose themselves onto others.”

“WHY, YOU–!” Chloé growled, stepping forward with the clear intention to claim some of that friendship ice cream.

Then she found herself at literal arm's length from Luka, who once more planted his hand on her face.

“Thanks for that,” he told Kagami, who he noticed had a bit of chocolate ice cream on the cheek.

“Not at all!” the Japanese girl replied. “That's what friends of friends do, yes?”

Luka smiled and, after pushing Chloé away, picked up his spoon and gave some of his ice cream to her.

“That's what friends do,” he told her, as she savored the ice cream.

“Share with meeee!” Chloé pathetically begged.

----

Eventually, everyone walked off, leaving Chloé on her lonesome, and Tikki came out. It was just routine by now, telling her off even though she never paid attention.

“I can't believe they all ditched me! Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!”

“Well, you did show up uninvited, again!” Was it the third, the fourth time? “You really should stop doing that unless you want Adrien to hate you even more!”

“'Hate' me?” Chloé asked, as if unable to comprehend the concept. “Are you stupid? Did you not see that we're soulmates?”

“Ice cream does not make you–”

“In fact, I should go see my soulmate right now!”

Tikki sighed. Chloé's blindness to reality was... so... tiring.

“For his sake, please don't.”

Of course, she didn't care.

“Glaciator, I am Hawkmoth. Revenge is a dish best served cold since they refuse to let you melt their hearts,” he told his new Akuma. He didn't have much of a hope for it, but rarer things had happened.

“I'll give Adrien Agreste a double scoop and freeze him where he stands!”

“Haha, wait, who–”

Welp, time to get the security system ready.

Night had fallen over Paris, and Marinette was standing at her terrace, looking into the distance, accompanied by her Kwami.

“Pollen, I can't stop thinking about Adrien's ice cream,” she said.

“Hm?” Pollen was curious, clearly.

“Was it really a Scarlet Lady cone? It's just too sad,” Marinette replied. “Everyone deserves love, even Scarlet, but Adrien hates her. To be tied to someone you hate...”

“Maybe it's not Scarlet Lady,” Pollen suggested.

“True,” she agreed, “it was pretty vague–”

“ADRIEN!”

“WAH!”

And her train of thought was suddenly derailed by the giant snow-man stomping his way through Paris' streets, towards the Agreste mansion.

“A–ANDRÉ?!”she said, shocked.

“Looks like he's not melting hearts anymore,” Pollen added.

“Mon Prince~”

“Oh, no.”

Seriously, not even at home was he free of her.

And still with that perversion of his nickname for Marinette!

“I heart you and I are soulmates~” Scar sing-sang, hanging outside his window.

“Dammit, Chloé! Why'd you tell her?!” he growled.

“ADRIEN! I'M GLACIATOR, THE ICE CREAM MAN! ESCAPE MY FURY, IF YOU CAN!”

“An Akuma?” Scar asked out loud, giving him the opening to get rid of her (even if he would have to deal with her again as Chat Noir).

“Oh noooo, duty calls Scarlet Lady,” he said, his voice dripping with all the sarcasm he was capable of pouring as pressed the button.

“Ah, wait–!” he heard her scream, but the security curtain blissfully cut her off before he had to hear her anymore.

Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir were waiting in silence at the Agreste mansion roof, when Marigold swung her way and landed next to them.

“Hey!” the former said.

“Got any intel?” Chat Noir asked.

“His hits turn you into ice cream, but...” Marigold said, trying to make sense of what she had seen, “it looks like he's ignoring couples.”

At the sound of that, Scarlet Lady turned around and pulled out her tongue.

“Ugh, blegh, ew! As if I'd pretend to be a couple with either of you! You'd have to beg me, even if it's fake, gross!”

Silence fell on the roof – apart from the Akuma's stomping, and Scarlet Lady began to look around.

“Um, why aren't you losers begging me to be your fake girlfriend?”

The answer to the question came fast, as she realized she had been left alone by the others.

“HEY!” she said, annoyed.

“There you – hm? What is this?” Glaciator asked as he saw who was standing in front of him.

“Alright, let's sell this, Honey Bee!” Chat Noir said, extending a hand at Marigold, who gave a wiiiiiiide smile.

“Huh? Ooh, well, if we gotta! Heehee!” she giggled. Because, seriously, when would she have the chance to do this again?

So she just walked up to her partner and kissed his soft cheek.

“Oh!” Chat Noir exclaimed, surprised.

“Ahhh, they're so in love!” Glaciator exclaimed.

“Wow, you're a really good actress!” the Cat Hero told the Bee Heroine, who looked away with a bit of shame.

“Hahaha, yeah, acting.” But still she gently hugged Chat Noir's arm, reveling in the feeling.

Fortunately, the Akuma hadn't noticed the last exchange, as he was fidgeting. It was obvious that he was split between the standing orders to steal the Miraculouses and his love for seeing couples together.

“Ahh, what do I do, what do I do?!”

“Just...” Marigold said, before she quickly jumped forward. “Stay still! Venom!”

“GAH!” Glaciator exclaimed as the magic of the Bee Miraculous paralyzed him.

That was when Chat Noir realized the problem.

“Uhh, where's the Akuma object?”

“Guess we better get out the spoons,” Marigold replied.

“Are you done yet?” Scarlet said, throwing her yo-yo up and down.

“Thanks for the help, Scar,” Chat Noir complained.

At least, Scarlet was able to do the minimum needed of her and sent the Miraculous Cure, restoring all the damage Glaciator had caused and bringing André back from the Akumatization.

“Bien Joué!” Chat Noir and Marigold celebrated with a fist bump.

“Sacré Bleu!” André exclaimed, before walking up to them and hugging them. “How wonderful!”

“Whoa!”

“Hng!”

André clearly had a lot of muscle, judging by the strength of the hug.

“Saved by a couple of superlovers!”

As soon as they were let go, they realized they had to correct this misapprehension.

“Oh, uh, heehee, we're not–” Marigold said, still blushing.

“Sorry, we're not a couple,” Chat Noir interrupted. “She's just a good friend.”

“Hah?”

Marigold felt like she had been turned into an ice statue.

The next afternoon, Marinette saw something that had come in the mail, and decided to deliver it to its intended destinee. Which was nice, since she wanted to check on him.

“Bonjour, André! I have a postcard from Mémé,” she said, offering the postcard to the ice cream man, who smiled at her.

“The pretty Marinette! Let me get you an ice cream! You never got one!”

Gently picking the postcard and storing it safely in a pocket, he walked behind his cart and started to pile the scoops.

“Dark chocolate for his disguise, mint like his eyes, and peach for his lips! And two cookies!” he announced, letting Marinette pick it up...

… and, as she looked at it, she felt her face burning up and her heart beat faster.

“Is... does this represent who I think it does?” she asked. Because, if it was... she felt her heart would just burst from joy.

“No idea! The magic chooses the ice cream,” André insisted.

“Oh,” Marinette replied, slightly disappointed.

----

Adrien arrived just a bit later – sadly missing Marinette as she left with her Chat Noir cone – and André welcomed him as happily as he had her.

“Ah, handsome Adrien!”

“Hey, André, sorry about yesterday,” he apologized, wanting to explain himself better. “The ice cream reminded me of someone I... strongly dislike.”

André nodded and moved to his cart.

“Let's look with fresh eyes: blueberry for her eyes, lemonade for her refreshing influence mixed with strawberry for her hidden potential! And a bonus scoop of blackberry for her hair!”

“Wow...” Adrien whispered as he took in the cone – and realized that this was the same as the previous day, only it had been incomplete!

“Now, does that remind you of someone?”

“Two people, actually,” he replied, blushing at the thought of the girl he liked and the partner he was growing to like as well.

“Wait, what?”
