TS4: Backyard Stuff - Food Items Override

I hope everyone's doing well ^^

I was creating an override for the kitchen bottles, and some time ago I was asked to replace this drinks tray from "Backyard Stuff". So I decided to create a separate override for this pack :)

*It overrides: the drinks tray, the juice jar, the three drink glasses, and the powdered drinks can.

*The sim use the wooden spoon to mix the juice. So I created a golden spoon for them to use instead (it's golden to match the tray handle).

NOTE: This golden spoon does not override the wooden spoon. It's a new item that they'll use only to mix the juice. The overrides for the kitchen spoon will be posted soon, just like the spatula overrides :)

*I also added a mod to change the drinks prices to be §15 simoleons. It makes more sense, at leats in my opinion (I wouldn't pay §144 for a jar of powdered juice I made in my own house, would you? 😅).

ABOUT THE JAR: At first I had made another juice jar, in a more rounded/realistic style. But that animation of the ice cubes and lemons inside it, and also the juice the sim pours, are all premade meshes that can't be edited.

I tried removing them, but then it looked empty and boring. So I decided to just remake EA's jar design, so the effects could stay there :)

a note on items with added channels and horse eyes -

premade sims and others already wearing items that have been given additional channels will initially display incorrectly. you can fix this by taking them to CAS, selecting one of the new presets, and then using CAst to change the colours/patterns back. you will also need to do this if you are using NRAAS's compact CAS.

because EA's horse eyes were initially bugged, I've included a fix for that. however, there is a small issue with one eye appearing darker than the other, depending on certain lighting. i've been unable to figure out this issue, and eye fixes by other modders have the same issue. other fixes also do not correct the foal eyes being mapped upside down.

without the fix, horse eyes will have black spots instead of proper catchlights, and one of the foal's eyes is mapped upside down making it appear... rather funky.

if the lighting issue bothers you and you wish to stick to EA eyes, but keep the cat & dog eye fixes, you can delete my eye fix and download the DOGS & CATS separately.

Johnny Zest

I've long since had a bc idea involving a multi verse of Johnny Zest(Landgrabb). The bachelor is a spellcaster who pulls six different variants of Johnny into his realm for his bachelor challenge. Each contestant would be a Johnny from another simmers game. The simmers would be allowed to change his style and such and do only slight slight edits to his looks if they wanted. Maybe the Johnny from a universe is a punk? Maybe he did what his parents wanted and let his dreams die?

Fun fact. I've had the bachelor sitting in my bin for a year? Year and a halfsih? He's not a spellcaster because I don't own said pack, but story purposes he would.

I've never done it for a few reasons. I feel people would think it is too stupid. I think it's a bit out there and silly. I have a hard time connecting to EA premades even though Johnny is one of my top favorites.

How to build your first fursuit head for ~$100 USD (2023)

What’s good furries? I’m sure a lot of you have a fursona and want to make your first fursuit. I recommend starting with a partial just in case you mess up or fall out of the hobby. It’s also less expensive!

This tutorial will only cover the head. I haven’t made any of the other stuff and I’m probably going to buy it online premade because I’m lazy.

1.) Have a reference sheet for your fursona.

If you are an artist, draw (the best you can) a reference sheet of your fursona from the front, side, and back. I made a little turnaround animation for mine, but this is not necessary.

Not an artist? Don’t want to draw? Commission someone to do it for you. I recommend Etsy, but you can find furry artists with open commissions all over the internet.

No money for commissions? You might be out of luck. Ask a friend or draw it the best you can. Alternatively, you can edit someone else’s fursona reference sheet to make it look like your fursona. Yeah, it’s stealing. Just don’t post it and act like it’s yours 👍

You can also go into the Roblox game, Catalogue Avatar Creator, and assemble something that looks kind of like your fursona. Take a screenshot of it from the front, side, and back, then go into a photo editor (I recommend IbisPaint or MediBang Paint, they are both free) and add in your special details.

I recommend not making your first fursuit super complicated or some kind of rare species. But you do you. It will just be really hard.

Also determine what style of fursuit you want. Toony? Kemono? Realistic? (I don’t recommend realistic for your first fursuit but you do you). This will be important later.

2.) Find Shit to Build It With

Once again, I recommend Etsy. You’ll need:

+ all the fur colors you need (try 2-3)

+ eye mesh

+ 3D printed mask

+ hot glue gun and hot glue sticks (dollar store)

+ needle and thread (dollar store or Walmart)

+ balaclava

+ styrofoam head

+ fabric scissors

+ extra foam pieces for ears or horns

Assemble all of that. It should be around $80-120 USD.

Your 3D printed mask is the most important thing. Another reason to get a relatively common species. Mine was a dragon. Remember the fursuit style you picked earlier? Search on etsy “3d printed [style] [species] furry mask” and you should be able to find one. You can also get pre-made foam heads. I don’t recommend trying to make your own head base, because A) it’s hard and B) those materials cost more money.

This shit will take a while to come in so don’t get too excited about it. My mask took like a month because it came from Germany.

3.) Mark the Color Spots on your Head Base

Basically just take a sharpie and outline the different color regions on your headbase. You can also use a pencil if you’re a pussy /j

4.) Uhhhh Eyeball That Fabric Pattern and Hot Glue the Pieces to Your Headbase

Some people use duct tape to make a pattern. That did not work for me! So I eyeballed it. Made some mistakes. That’s okay.

5.) Trim Down the Fur Length

Most people use clippers for this but I didn’t want to buy any and I didn’t know how to use them so I did it VERY CAREFULLY with scissors.

6.) Fill in the Cracks Between Your Hot Glue Seams With Loose Fur

Look at all this damn fur on the floor! If only there was something to do with it!

Put hot glue between the super visible seams where you hotglued different pieces of fabric next to each other, then pack in some of that loose fur. Cut it down if it’s too long. The seams will be less visible.

7.) Hot Glue the Eye Mesh Behind the Eye Holes

VERY CAREFULLY hot glue this so your character isn’t cross-eyed. You can try follow-me eyes but I didn’t do that with mine.

8.) Add Your Extra Details

You know like whiskers or plastic teeth or a tongue or anything else you want to put on there.

Now you’re done with the mask part.

9.) CAREFULLY Hot Glue Your Balaclava to the Inside of the Mask

The eye hole should be where your eye mesh is so that you can see out. Also make sure some of the balaclava is glued to the top of the mask.

10.) Weigh Down Your Styrofoam Head With a Heavy Rock

Or put it on a stand. Or hot glue it to the table. Whatever works.

11.) Put the Balaclava that you Glued to the Mask on the Styrofoam Head

Pretty simple. The reason we weighed down the styrofoam head is because the front of your mask will be heavy and make it fall over while you’re trying to work.

12.) ????? Put Fur On the Balaclava

You’ll also need to like add some fur connecting the sides of the mask to the balaclava. Hard to explain. You’ll probably figure it out?

13.) Trim that Fur and Put the Trimmings in the Seams Like Before

14.) Take it off of the Styrofoam Head

You may need to cut a slit in the back of the neck of your fursuit head. Not only will it help get the styrofoam head out, now your head can get in and out too!

15.) Put it on

Edit it if something is wrong. It might feel crooked but it’s probably not.

16.) Enjoy!

sims 4 worlds i edited for my personal save file. pretty much all of them are gallery builds which i slightly edited to make up for any missing packs.

willow creek is already meant to be new orleans, but i wanted it to be more strongly new orleans, so i picked builds of that nature. i used a lot of paranormal stuff pack in both the furniture and the CAS of the premades. speaking of premades, i deleted and replaced all of them. might show that in another post.

oasis springs got a much more drastic change. it's now morocco. i love the courtyard oasis kit and i do not love the aesthetic of vanilla oasis springs. so, it's morocco now. i also deleted and replaced the premades here.

san myshuno, canonically, is based on a myriad of different cities, from nyc to shanghai. but i wanted it to be tokyo, so it's tokyo for me. i tried to place down japanese lots that would also fit the urban setting. i would say about half the families were deleted and replaced, but many were kept.

forgotten hollow. most people seem to think it's in the pacfic northwest of the united states, but for me it's in germany, because of the gothic architecture. the vatores were deleted because i prefer playing them in the sims 3. vlad stayed though because he's too iconic. and the world was filled up with vampires. i need to add some more humans to be food for the vamps, but that's a problem for another day. the cemetary actually has underground crypts as residential rentals, it's fun.

and mt komorebi, the most important world in this save, remains hokkaido. i made sure it had a spa, gym, and karaoke bar, and i built the park with cc. the white cottage is a ghibli store, which is awesome, and a good place for the kids, i think. there's also a grocery store, even though cottage living is not installed, and i hope that i'll still be able to force the family to go shopping before they can eat. i kept all the premades in this world.

the other worlds in this save are newcrest, magnolia promenade, strangerville, san sequoia, and tomarang. i didn't touch any of them yet, except for one house in newcrest.

for newcrest, i heard you can do scenarios in your preexisting saves, so i think i want to do that and fill up newcrest that way. it sounds fun and like a nice way to have a break from my main family whenever i want one.

magnolia promenade, maybe the family ever goes to willow creek i'll fix it up, but for now, i don't care. same with strangerville, san sequoia, and tomarang.

i'm playing with the home regions mod, so these worlds will not overlap. willow creek, newcrest and magnolia promenade are connected (NOLA). san myshuno and mt komorebi are connected (japan). but that's it, the rest of the worlds are all far away from each other (in my headcanon).

I wish there were more people who like actively liked the warriors enough to edit them because itd be amazing if there were premade scene packs so i didnt have to go get my own scenes.

Piqiwi’s Parenthood Patch for Parentless Pixel People

I’ve just discovered a bug in piqiwi’s Parenthood mod over at MTS. If a sim who gets one of the chance cards has no parents whatsoever, such as the premade Newsons, and they get personality changes from the chance cards... it causes a glitch where everyone who was at school resets back onto the lot. Once an error log had ben generated I was able to fix it by adding a couple of lines into the BHAV, and since piqiwi hasn’t been active on MTS in ages, I’m sharing it here. If they return and object to my sharing it, I’ll remove it.

What has changed: The filename, so downloaders know it’s an edit (and so I don’t forget it myself!) and the BHAV 'Sub - Parenthood - reward personality' which has had a false target added to node 0x6, the Get Parents line, so if no parents are found it will set the next two temp values to 0 instead of returning error. Everything else is untouched.

Download (SFS) - full credit goes to piqiwi at MTS for making the mod, which was inspired by the TS4 character values system in the Parenthood game pack. Warning though: do not attempt to combine this mod or their mood swing mod with any version of Chris Hatch’s religion mod. I found out the hard way that they edit the same unused data in different ways that will destroy your save if combined. Have fun and enjoy your day :)
