The Cat’s Whiskers (and 1nm8)

first an introduction… i stumbled upon this challenge and it looked really fun !! i was gonna do it last month, but i was too late.. anyways !

so ! tcw !!

anyone who knows me knows i adore them !!

i think you can’t understate the sentiment of found families… i love their dynamic, and all of the characters are my favorites.

i think everyone can recognize my shiki obsession, but… also ! i’m a huge fan of xxxx. saimon, especially, is one of my favorite paralive characters, so ofc i like the remnants of xxxx as part of tcw… i don’t see enough people being insane about them, is it because people don’t read the novel..? anyways…

also, them being my favorite group might be a little bit of wish fulfillment… see, i really relate to shiki a ton!! like , a lot. so , i think it’s so sweet to see him being taken care of so enthusiastically by everyone else . as someone who shares a lot of the same struggles as him, it’s comforting to hear yohei and saimon offer him comfort in various scenes , and to see ryu give him physical affection .

i know a lot of fandoms have problems with certain groups being too strictly divided between “parents” and “children” dynamics to the point of diminishing each character’s original traits (cough… ryusetai discussions)…

but i don’t think that’s the case for tcw. i think saimon and yohei are meant to be seen as parents to ryu and shiki ;; it’s cute !

and also, not all people see this the same way, but ryushiki is like, my second favorite paralive ship, if not my favorite…

one thing i can’t stress enough to every person i end up talking to is how i have multiple conflicting but coexisting interpretations/hcs for my favorite characters .

like yes , i do hc shiki as aroace, but also, he’s part of some ships i really love, too, so i can see anything… i personally prefet bae as platonic soulmates, but it’s still cute seeing fanart for them and everything..

basically, what i’m trying to say is that just because i love ryushiki as a ship, doesn’t mean that i can’t also see them as brothers some days .

but like… they’re so cute omg… ryu always biting shiki… the scene in fate where ryu cries in his sleep and shiki wakes up and comforts him is so cute… the love voice drama part with ryu talking about shiki is so cute too… the beginning of the rooftop friends voice drama with ryu eating shiki’s food… the official short story which speaks for itself… i just love them…

so !!! i love tcw !!!

though… 1nm8… i love them just as much, i can’t pick a favorite…

I'm losing my fucking mind.

In the last years, my university has been tagged multiple times with racist and neo-nazi symbols. The local of our union against racism and pro lgbtq+ was destroyed multiple times. Nothing was done, but a bit of paint to cover it up. No investigation. No punishment. And when I vocalised my discomfort, I was told it was nothing, just "immature young people trying to get attention".

Last year, the prefect of Paris authorized a Neo-Nazis' protest. Neo-Nazis walked in Paris, freely, as if it's not illegal to express racism or nazi rhetoric in this country. People weren't happy, so the prefete said it would not happen again.

Well, for the 21st of April, multiple protests against racism were organized all around France, and, they were not authorized by the authorities. The same prefect that let, a year ago, Neo-Nazis in the street of Paris, refused to let a protest against racism walk those same streets. He said "It's antisemitic. They support Palestine, they are antisemitic.". Yeah, take us for idiots, the protest against racism is going to be too antisemitic but not the Neo-Nazis you let walk around (and we know he would do it again).

And now, we have Sciences Po, one of the most reputable universities in our country, joining the movement the USAmerican students have started. The Sorbonne, another reputable university, followed. The French gov and media cried about it, called them "terrorists", "uneducated", "revolutionaries" (this one is crazy and really shows the fascism behind it all. We are in France, being revolutionary is NOT a bad thing in our culture. Wtf would you use "revolutionary" negatively in France, unless you are an oppressor?!!!) Students who are calling for the end of Genocide and just sitting on the ground! The cops were sent and dragged them out. For information, the cops CANNOT intervene in an university in France without the authorization of the president of this university. Not even the gov can make the cops enter an university, it's illegal. When students protest inside an university, people don't like seeing the cops being send after them. Two reasons: 1- students have often protest and help for the quality of life of everyone in French history, 2- WWII's trauma, Nazis stormed French universities because they were hiding Jews and resistants. Like, they are straight up acting like the Nazis, again. And the city of Paris wants to cut the budget they give to those two universities to punish them for not keeping their students in line. So, freedom of speech? GONE.

Students are protesting against a massacre, and they are calling them antisemitic. People standing against racism is antisemitic. But not the people branding Neo-Nazi symbols and chanting Neo-Nazi slogans. They don't move if you are branding a swastika, which is illegal, but will if you are branding Palestine's flag, which is not (yet). They let a political party founded with a SS go around and act nice, but the ones asking for the end of a massacre are the Nazis. Make sense.

So, I'm fucking pissed. I'm fucking pissed because I was told to "calm down" when I couldn't stand the antisemitism paint on my university, when I couldn't stand being friendly with the students that did or support that (because I did meet one). I was told to ignore antisemitism and I refused, and now, they call me antisemitic for standing with Palestinians?! How dare they when they tried to gaslight me so I would ignore the antisemitism in front of me?!

They don't care about jewish people! It's not about jewish people or the jewish faith, it's about white supremacy!

The people have already planned to protest during the Olympic Games, because the French gov is going full fascism lately (everyday, we wake up to more bs), and I hope with all my heart that we ruin the event at least (which would harm them financially), and at best, we get rid of the government and this 5th republic.

Once you reached the location you slightly knocked on the border of the fat lady's frame, hoping she would not awaked. Luckily, the door opened right away.

- "Garreth!"

The boy did not answer and dragged you in before closing the door. Your spine was already resting on the back of it as Weasley's mouth was on yours, slightly sliding his hand on your hips. He finally let go of your lips to stare deeply in your eyes.

- "How did you manage to sneak through school?" he whispered.

- "I have my ways…" you smiled before pressing your lips back on his.

- "You really are mischievous." he huffed in your mouth, taking away a smile from your lips.

Weasley let his hands slide to your thighs before picking you up, reverse piggyback style. A delicate moan escaped your mouth as the ginger boy's ears turned red.

- "Sorry, I shall be more delicate." he muttered.

- "You are too cute, Garreth."

Weasley's kisses went to your neck as he went sitting on the sofa, you above him. The boy's hands were back to your hips, grabbing you firmly as he tried to remain calm. You on the other end, stood upright and placed your hands on his shoulders.

- "What do you have in mind, Darling?" he whispered, his freckled face completely red.

- "You will see…"

You pushed his back on the sofa, completely hovering him. Grabbing both his wrists with your hands.

- "You really are the worst…" he tried to hide his embarrassment.

- "Whatever you say little golden retriever !" you giggle before kissing him again.

i also hc that raj is a hard_pokemon_fan and he would spent DAYS for catching some shinys and wayne or bowie (or together) is always trying to get him to sleep

bowie and emma are animal crossing nerds, who's spending hours to build a perfect princess theme island and always messing around with their villagers

mk is moba player ( LoL and Dota 2) and playes valorant sometimes, but prefet CS:GO. and when she's saying that she will find someone's IP address she means it

ripper, chase and zee are Minecraft players, mostly bedwars but they have their own smp where they mostly doing stupid things and playing with others chases friends

julia just plays 2048. that's all.

I think spoilers for the new MW3 Zombies mode. Just gonna put spoilers just in case, since this ia juat me gonna ramble again cuase I had to much free time today. I'm gonna start off with the negatives and then positives, since I kinda have some things to say

Just saw the recent trailer for MW3 Zombies. Ngl, I'm not really excited for it. I won't lie, I'm not very happy or excited to see the MW characters being apart of the Dark Aether story(I assume, since there seems to be refrences to Eddie/Director). Mostly since they have their own story that had/is already overshadowing Zombies. Yea, it's cool I guess. But I don't want characters that already have their own story and cannon to just be thrown into a game mode that had nothing to do with the characters in the first place

It might be me, but I prefeted original charatets that were made FOR Zombies than having the obvious "Buy this becuase you're favorite guy is in this game mode" characters. The problem also rises, when you have to consider the MW world's lore and its characters as cannon to the story of Zombies. On top of that, having to know WHEN this takes place and what events already happened within that world

On the positive side of things, I think this may give Zombies another chance into the sunlight after what happened in Vangaurd. Yes, I don't like having the most obvious of reasons to add fan favorite MW charater's into the Dark Aether story, I would prefer to have Zombies be and , hopefully, have a good story to give people a chance to get into the game mode.

It's a very wacky experience to possibly see a certain german/american guy named Eddie interacting with the MW characters, but it does also generate a bridge for both the Zombies community and the MW community to interacte and possible get into one another's game and/or story.

The BIGGEST thing I hope they don't do is remake Shi No Numa for the 5th time

Uhmm I don't have a particular favorite thing to paint. Maybe lettering? It's just the thing I do most often. And I prefer painting. I'm a graffiti artist at heart. But sketching is helpful for honing my art and developing muscle memory and technical understanding.

Sketching was really helpful post-portal-incident where I had essentially fried my nerves and needed to basically relearn how to do art. I have sketchbooks and sketchbooks of just... Trying to do art again.
