Ghost and Soap who only manage to get one clear station on their near-busted radio, and thank the powers that be for that because the station in question has a host with a voice that lands near the top of their list titled favourite sounds- you quickly become part of their routine.

Helps that you queue music they can't complain about and talk to them late into the night- one sided and all, but still, they hem and haw over your prompts and talking points.

They preen over the way you put the occasional brutish late night listener in their place whenever one becomes confident enough to inundate you with expicit and vile on-air call in slop to see how you'd react, pawing at eachother and whispering about what they'd do to those types of callers if given the chance- never a painting a pretty picture. It's enrichment for the two to imagine how you'd react to them- if you'd even react at all.

Can't help the way their hands gravitate towards each other when they hear your voice. It's nothing out of the ordinary for them sans your company sight-unseen, but its ramped up to one hundered when your voice fills the all-too stale air that accompanies their current location in the dead of night.

forgive the random idea, but I was thinking about how much I love stories about people with power and in power, able to destroy lives and countries without a thought, being immeasurably strong and deadly... Being so soft and gentle towards their child.

Ingo being a god, a god who's been around for millenia. He's seen nations rise and fall, people come into and out of power. He's been revered and feared and forgotten and renamed. He's lived inthe heavens and on the earth. He's been mortal as an immortal, living a human life before dying and returning to godhood. He is old and tired and powerful. He has caused forest fires and destroyed mountains. He has provided bountiful harvests and life saving rains.

And then one day a child is left on the floor of his temple. A pair of wanderers stayed the night, and with nothing else to their names they left their infant behind. Ingo has no idea who they were, barely noticed that they had lingered, but the disturbance of the child left behind - a taste of innocence that lingers on his tongue, like the breeze over a wheat field and the cleanliness of a newborn - has him going to see what was left.

He's never had a child left as an offering, as payment. Sacrifices? Yes. But this one is still alive. She is so small, her eyes so big, and she looks at him without fear. He can't remember the last time he was looked at without fear, without blind devotion. He hesitates to touch her, not sure how to be gentle, and she reaches out first. She grabs his finger and begins to chew on it.

And Ingo is lost.

hoodie update,

first i cut the lining to fit and added basting stitches to keep it together

so most of the hood is done, like i saud i started this last summer so the sleves are already done, so next ill be working on the main body of the hoodie,

thinking about if shri'iia were to have her own tent i kinda like the idea of her having a little canopy similar to karlach bc she's taken a liking to the surface night sky and she wants to see the stars at night..! otherwise it's those medieval pavilion/knight tents but a section of the roof has been cut open so it's a makeshift sun roof (to see the stars). and inside she has her bed roll, some books and a bunch of weapons that she's polishing. also i like the idea that she has her little underdark plants and a little poison brewing station hehe... maybe some paints too and a small canvas/notebook that she's painting on. would be so cute if she has a painting on display but her paintings are like monochromatic/looks like heat vision bc that's what she sees with her darkvision lol

Hey, I just saw your most recent post and am curious about the irrelevant part - what do you mean by the ''religions abstaining from pork because it was unsafe to eat at the time'' thing? I've never heard that before and I am genuinely intrigued to know about it.

Hi !! There's a lot of religious rituals and rules that people continue today out of tradition and respect that were started (or thought to have been started) for safety/health reasons, with one big one being how meat can be handled and what meat is safe to consume! Pork is the main one that I know of since I have some friends that keep kosher or only eat halal meats

Essentially, pigs are honestly pretty gross animals if you let them be. They're opportunistic omnivores, so they'll essentially eat whatever they can get their teeth on. That includes rotting/spoiled food, fecal matter, and even people if they sit still long enough. Pigs can also carry some gnarly diseases that can easily be passed on to people. It's why you'll often hear people refer to them as "unclean" in both a religious and hygienic sense, despite their cleanliness on the outside. You might not know what Trichinella parasites are, but if your cousin shits himself to death after eating porkchops, you're gonna assume that's a sign from someone above not to eat anymore pigs

We now have modern medicine, biologists, food scientists, meat storage/serving regulations, etc. etc. that have made the risk of catching anything from pork less than minimal as long as you store and cook it properly and there hasn't been a new outbreak of something. A lot of people keep the tradition out of respect for their ancestors/culture. A lot of people also keep it because they know that pigs are still kinda gross, even with modern interventions. I've met people that no longer follow pig-based rules at all, while others adjust it so they're only eating pork if they know where it came from and what that pig ate from birth to bacon

Basically, eating a pig before the creation of antibiotics and vaccines was the peak form of fucking around and finding out. Whether you found out because of salmonella or the wrath of every deity out there (or both!) is up to you

I don't really know how many people are going to be effected by it, but from what I understand there's going to be a pretty serious snowstorm around the Midwestern area in America. Please keep everyone in its path in your prayers, especially the homeless with no place to take shelter. If you're in an area that'll be effected and are able to help, any food, water, extra clothes or blankets, or possibly even shelter could help someone so so much. Stay safe out there, I'm praying for you all 🖤
