A follower sent me this pic earlier and it's been bugging the crap out of me so I had to post about it. We are all different shapes and sizes. You can be large or small and be healthy. But you can also be large or small and be unhealthy To make a reference of a pig is a bit bad taste in my opinion. Who are you to say also what way someone should look Its hard enough for people who are overweight to make a decision to make a lifestyle change. All you hear is people say O EAT LESS AND MOVE MORE . I'm afraid trainers who say this have lost touch with human psychology. Its like putting someone into deep water and say  IT'S EASY TO STAY ALIVE JUST BREATH MORE. But they have forgotten how to thread water. Not so simple. Coaches forget there is two parts to fat loss. Physical and mental. The mental is the most important. The mind is the most powerful part of the body. One thing that's sticks with me from secondary school is something my PE teacher said to me, MEN'S SANA IN CORPORE SANO Its Latin for a healthy mind in a healthy body. It has always stuck with me and I'm a firm believer that the mind is key to someone's fatloss journey. Its easy to get lost in life and gaining weight you can fall into a rut.. To many bad habits allong the way you can get lost. Like stuck in your car with no sat nav. Sometimes all they need is A sat nav. Some direction, encouragement and accountabilie, new habits and education. Not to be made feel like a pig or branded as something undesirable like what has been shown in that pic. Trying to make someone feel bad or fat shaming someone into losing weight is not right, it will not help the mind and in turn will not help the body. Can you Lose Fat And Gain Muscle at the same time. 1-In order to build muscle, you need to consume excess calories. 2-in order to lose fat there must be a calorie deficit. The logic is that some may think is since you can't do both of the above at the same time, you can't build muscle and lose fat at the same time. Wrong, yes you can! HOW? Here's what they don't understand. Yes, you need sufficient calories to build muscle and you need a deficit to burn fat. However, body fat is actually the solution. Body fat is stored calories. If you don't meet your caloric needs through food, you tap into your 'stored calories' to do the job. Since those stored calories are in the form of body fat, you therefore have to lose fat in order to build that muscle. So let’s say for arguments sake your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) including your hypertrophy training (building muscle training) is about 2800 calories. That means your body is outputting 2800 calories a day. You have cut your food calories by 500 calories a day to be in a calorie deficit to lose fat so now you are consuming 2300 calories. Your body still needs to output 2800 calories so where is it going to get its extra 500 calories from to keep you going. Answer: by burning his body fat. There are about 3500 calories in a pound of fat. 500 calories times 7 days equals 3500 calories, i.e you are still fuelling protein synthesis and losing about a pound of fat per week in the process. It's not impossible to build muscle and lose fat at the same time. It's actually a very do-able, predictable process when you know what you're doing. Your macro nutrients need to be correct as you need enough carbs to replenish muscle glycogen and enough protein but that’s a different post . Sweat is only water released by the body to controle body temperature Fat can not just melt or leave the body through the skin. It must go through a process of the body breaking it down. The body breaks down the fat cell and uses its energy, what's left over is about 80% gas and about 20% water. Gas leaves the body through the lungs and the water is kept in the body to be used or excreted. So 80% of your fat leaves through your lungs.. The body is a biomechanical machine.
