“Adorably Okay” Bridge Carson x Reader
(A/N: Based on my Imagine: Bridge hearing your thoughts about him. I did not expect to do multiple revisions during and after typing it all up. Warnings: Reference to beginnings of a slight panic attack. Use of (Y/N). Word Count: 1,093 words)
Days could mostly be weird. It wasn’t their fault and it was mainly one’s perspective. Such was how people viewed each day in life.
Your day had been pretty average. Keeping a schedule. No big surprises. People, fellow cadets, around you were overall in pleasant spirits.
No big tests today apparently, you thought.
Sure, you weren’t on a path to become a Power Ranger, but that suited you just fine. There were plenty of other responsibilities. Ones you gladly shared with others throughout your time at Headquarters.
You saw enough of your crush, an actual Power Ranger, regardless of your job position. Lucky you. Your crush, Bridge Carson, was as nice as a dream. The two of you had talked before loads of times, but you hadn’t pursued anything beyond friendship.
Honestly, you weren’t sure how. But you were happy. Fully content to have a friendship with the most cute and intelligent person you knew.
And so darn adorable.
Walking from your room with a book of choice, you made your way through the halls, intent on returning the book to a friend. A cadet, busy as others.
Thankfully, the walk wasn’t far, even if S.P.D. Headquarters was enormous.
It was a wonder then, when a familiar pairing of grey and green caught your attention.
“Hey, Bridge,” you greeted as he started walking up to you with a smile.
That smile could brighten any day.
“Hi.” Bridge gave a short wave and quickly begun talking once he stood in front of you. “I heard your thoughts again. You think I’m adorable. How come—.”
A large book slipped from your fingers and dropped to the floor.
Everything in you seemed to go into a static mode, like you were somewhere between panic and complete shutdown. Worried thoughts trying to consume you.
He knows I like him? No. He can’t. What do I do? Why’s he here to tell me? Does he want me to stop?
“(Y/N)?” Bridge tilted his head. “(Y/N)?” His dark eyebrows pinched together in concern.
Upon Bridge’s announcement, it became impossible to function outside of your own mind. You were incredibly ill prepared.
He knows? Your vision hardly picked up details of the flooring. Worry started overtaking you. Pulling you away from your more rational thoughts.
Black-gloved hands grabbed a hold of your arms.
“Hey.” Bridge’s voice was gentle. “Can you hear me?” Thumbs rubbed small circles along your uniform.
He can’t just talk about my thoughts. Gah! Just…you can hear him. Answer him. Something. He’s worried.
Taking a moment or two, you were finally able to nod.
“Okay. Good. Uh.”
Just breathe, you thought. It’s okay. It’s okay. Don’t freak him out. He just wanted to talk. It’s Bridge not…something bad.
He took a step closer. “Here.” Bridge placed one your hands on the center of his chest. “Follow my breathing.”
Heat whipped through you in a confusing mixture of surprised panic and nervous excitement.
Okay?
“Breathe in.” His chest rose underneath your palm.
Staring where he held your hand to him, you copied his breathing. It went a little shaky. Yet you made progress.
“Breathe out.”
Exhaling, you felt the beating of your friend’s heart. Your crush’s heartbeat. Strong and uncharacteristically quick.
It’s okay. There’s nothing wrong. You closed your eyes and centered yourself. With Bridge as your anchor, you knew you were safe. No matter what surprising or intrusive thoughts made themselves known, you would be okay. Truly and honestly.
Out of all words to react to. He can’t know specifically how I feel from just that word. Goodness. And he wouldn’t be mean about it.
You swallowed.
“Please don’t surprise me like that.” You muttered, feeling calmer.
“I’m sorry.” His voice was soft. “Are you all right, now?”
“Yeah… My mind took a turn.”
“I didn’t mean to upset you. I was just thinking about you again.”
Your eyes snapped open. “Again?”
“Yeah. Thinking about what we ate yesterday, about what we were reading and which of your thoughts I’ve heard. You know.” His bright brown eyes could hardly keep steady eye contact with you while he spoke.
Glancing down to his chest, you focused on how the rate of his heart beat sped up. Neither of you made a move closer nor away.
“So, it’s okay that I think you’re adorable?” You asked, boldly keeping your hand on him.
Just breathe. This is new. Asking him is fine.
His other hand slipped down to hold your free hand. “Yes.”
Oh. Oh, he likes it?
“When I found you, I wanted to ask: how come you haven’t told me? Out loud. I wanted to know.”
The vulnerable conversation had opened. Both of you equally giving.
“I don’t know.” You answered truthfully. Sort of.
It’s not weird to call someone ‘adorable’, in general. If you know them. And he wanted to know why. Wants to.
“Do you want me to?” You asked quietly.
However empty the hallway appeared, sound carried. There was no telling who could walk by. Who might overhear or see.
The conversation curved closer to the heart.
Goodness and the universe knew how much Bridge meant to you. How much you liked him. Adored him. Even more so after he calmed you.
“Yes and I do like when I hear your thoughts too.” Bridge answered, his hand pressing yours more firmly on his chest. “And I really like you. I hope it’s alright to tell you now.”
Your mouth fell open slightly.
Was he truly telling you? Confessing to you?
Your feelings for him were reciprocated?
“Do you like me?” He asked timidly from your silence.
Those warm brown eyes pulled at your heartstrings. Tender and caring. Always attentive when you were near.
“I do. I really like you too.” You whispered.
Releasing both of your hands, Bridge held your face gently. His gaze and smile were just as soft. The speed of his heart was the only contrast.
He likes me. You thought happily, he’s adorable.
“So adorable.” You murmured.
Breathing out a small, delighted laugh, Bridge leaned forward and kissed you tenderly.
Your day had not gone weirdly nor had it been predictable. The day held warmth and good intentions.
A forgotten book.
Two friends standing in a hallway.
Tasks were on standby.
What was a few more kisses shared between two people?
“You’re so adorable and—”
He kissed you.
“—incredibly smart.” You continued and kissed him back.
Bridge smiled against your lips again as you played with his hair.
He was your adorable Power Ranger.

'GIVE AND TAKE'
gif belongs to me
You had listened to Sky's declarations that he would be a great Red Ranger and endured many, many, speeches where he ranted about his day with his new team leader and you had nodded along, knowing he needed a place to vent his frustrations to avoid taking it out on the other Rangers.
And while Sky had warmed up to Jack in the few months they had been working together, the two still had their disagreements and you would let him pace a hole in the floor as he told you about it.
One day, however, you couldn't endure it, dealing with your own problems and wishing Sky paid enough attention to see that you needed someone to talk to. But every time you tried he would keep talking and your frustration finally boiled over.
"He is the Red Ranger! Accept that you didn't make the cut because of how arrogant and oblivious you are to other people's feelings!"
Sky was surprised by your outburst, but quickly recovered, the silver on his tongue cutting deeper that day, and you left the room he shared with Bridge, hiding your tears.
The Blue Ranger was smart enough to know that approaching you would only lead to another argument and waiting for you to cool down, but as time ticked away and he hadn't heard or seen you in three days, Sky began to worry that maybe he had missed something.
His solemn mood began to affect his ability in the field and Jack knew that he had to step in before someone got injured. He knew you were actively avoiding Sky after Syd told him about the fight you had and decided to catch you off guard.
You walked out of the training simulator and Jack stepped off the wall, causing you to spin on your heels, raising an eyebrow at the Red Ranger. Your expression shifted when you saw the look in his eyes.
"What is it? What happened?"
"It's Sky." He sighed. Jack had an hour to think of a lie that sounded remotely believable and when you asked where your boyfriend was, he knew you did.
When Jack told you where to find Sky, you immediately set off to find your boyfriend, expecting to find him resting but instead found him doing push-ups on the ground. Sky got to his feet when the door opened, surprised to find you standing in the doorway.
"Is this some kind of joke? Because it isn't funny."
"What?" His brow furrowed when he saw the tears in your eyes.
"You -" You turned away and Sky quickly placed himself in front of the door and you glared at the Blue Ranger who held his hands up.
"You need to fill in the blanks for me." He said, lowering his hands. "You burst in here after dodging me for three days and I can't tell if you are going to kick my ass or smother me with hugs."
You stepped back and a sigh left his lips as he watched you walk to sit on the edge of his bed. "Jack told me you were wounded in the field. Confined to a bed."
You looked at your boyfriend when he didn't speak and when you raised an eyebrow he blinked out of his thoughts. "I didn't know you cared."
"Of course, I care." You crossed your arms, lowering them with a sigh when you knew how defensive it appeared. "I didn't mean to bite your head off. It's just..." You looked at your hands and Sky frowned as he moved to sit beside you. "I'm sick and tired of being a cadet. You're out there where the action is and hearing you complain, just made me explode. It had less to do with you, and more to do with how I was feeling."
Sky nodded slowly, "So...you don't think I'm arrogant?"
Sky shook his head as he reached out to hold your hand on your lap, squeezing gently. "I'm sorry for always talking about my problems. I want you to know that I will listen more."
You turned your head to meet his gaze, feeling your lips twitch upwards when you saw the slight smile on his lips. "No, you are. But you are a great S.P.D Ranger. And I know how important it is for you to be Red Ranger. I'm sorry for sounding callous before."
You smiled softly, "Can I pace the floor, complaining about Jack like you do?"
He chuckled, nodding, "Sure."
You placed a hand on his cheek, closing your eyes as your lips met. Sky lifted a hand to the nape of your neck, drawing you closer for a few moments before pulling away to meet your gaze.
"I thought you want to complain about Jack?"
You shrugged, "I can do it later. I missed you."
"I missed you too." He smiled as he reignited your kiss and you leaned into his chest as he deepened it.
He understood relationships required a certain amount of give and take and would talk less and listen more. You felt as if your training was slipping? He would train with you. He felt like he needed to decompress after a stressful day? You would help take his mind off of it. While he never said it aloud, Sky was grateful that Jack stepped in and lied to get you in a room together to work it out.
He hated arguing with you, but he loved making up afterward.

Desiderium (1)
MCU!Spider-Man x Cop!Reader | Peter Parker x Cop!Reader
Desiderium: an ardent desire or longing. especially : a feeling of loss or grief for something lost.
genre: angst, light-hearted comedy
description: In which Peter accidentally travels to your Earth, where he’s a wanted criminal and you’re supposed to arrest him.
word count: 2.4k
warnings: bit of angst, attempts at comedy, NWH spoilers, Across the Spiderverse movie references, Power Ranger SPD references lmfao (OC is a power ranger cop), Peter being an absolute dork and geeking out at OC’s powers, I just want him happy :(((
a/n: This is my attempt at a love story that I couldn’t get out of my head. I was heavily inspired by the character Yuri Watanabe in the Spider-Man game, wondering what would happen if Yuri and Spider-Man were a thing. But you don't have to know the game because OC isn’t exactly like Yuri except for the cop part. I made her a Power Ranger instead because I can and it’d be hilarious if Spider-Man met a Power Ranger (plus Japanese Spider-Man ran so other Spider-Men could walk. Okay enough of me geeking out now).
extra a/n: The Japanese Power Rangers were actually what inspired me because they were the original before America adapted it. OC is basically Jasmine from Dekaranger if anyone’s curious.
Things were uneventful after everyone forgot who Peter Parker was. Crime was reduced to typical bank robberies and short-lived car chases. Nothing that Spider-Man had to get himself involved in. It was dangerously boring, which wasn’t good. Boring meant free time. And free time meant he was trapped with his thoughts.
He wanted to forget it all. Forget that he was all alone. Forget that he didn’t get into MIT. Forget he was stuck working a minimum wage paying job that barely got him to pay his rent. Trust that he was spiraling into waves of depression, blaming himself for what happened and that it was all for the best.
But was it really?
The fact he couldn’t go to Aunt May’s grave without coincidentally running into Happy and lying about his relationship with her. The fact that Mr. Stark wasn’t there to mentor him, scold him, or comfort him anymore. The fact that he had to let go of the love of his life and best friend crushed him to the point where he thought he would go mad.
He had to find a hobby and so he did what he did best—build things, specifically new gadgets. Why not with all this free time?
About four months in, Peter had been invested in working on an experimental device in his makeshift lab. The goal was to be able to travel across the multiverse and find a world where he wasn’t suffering. For once, he had hope that he could have a happy ending. Yes, it was dangerous and stupid, but he had to try. This wasn’t magic; it was science. And experimenting was the only thing keeping him sane.
Once he put on the finishing touches, he suited up and swung himself onto his apartment’s rooftop.
He overlooked the city he once protected and loved, bidding it farewell. This world didn’t need him anymore. Not as Peter Parker. Not as Spider-Man. He pressed the button on the gadget wrapped around his wrist, resulting in an electric shock from the device.
“Ow!”
By some miracle, he caused an electromagnetic surge that opened up a temporary rift in the fabric of reality, causing a brief glimpse into an alternate Earth. He couldn’t believe his eyes, jumping into the portal without hesitation.
“Ahhh!!!”
To say he dropped out of the sky wouldn’t be an exaggeration. The superhero fell face flat onto the roof of an apartment building, groaning from the impact. Getting up and perching on the ledge, he overlooked the city he was in to quickly realize it was Queens, New York. But… something seemed off. The people looked human, but then there were others that appeared… extraterrestrial.
“Damn it,” Peter muttered, smacking the device on his wrist. It wasn’t working anymore, completely fried to a crisp. Panic settled into his features because he didn’t know where the hell he was. “What do I do…?”
He peered down on the streets to see some cops walking back to their station and figured maybe someone could help him there.
It’s almost laughable how easy your job could be sometimes. You were at Delta Base circulating wanted posters around the police station, paying no mind to those who came and went. It wasn’t until you heard a soft, gentle voice ask an officer at the front desk a question.
“Hi, my name is Spider-Man and uh, I think I’m on the wrong Earth… or maybe the wrong planet? I saw so many aliens out there, are y’all being invaded? I’ll help you if you help me?
The police officer saw the poster on his desk with the word “WANTED” in big bold letters, trembling at the resemblance. “O-Oh my god! It’s the same person! Um?!”
He held up the poster and looked over to you, who was at the other end of the information counter, eyes screaming, “HELP ME, CAPTAIN.”
You looked up and placed your posters down, walking over to the wanted man in question. “Pardon me, on our Earth when you first walk into a police station, it’s custom to pose like this.”
You placed your wrists in line with each other, palms facing inward towards the body and the man in red and blue copied you.
“Like this?”
“Thanks,” you immediately placed handcuffs on him, “you made my job so much easier.”
Spider-Man lifted his hands up to his face, the white part on his mask where his eyes were widened in disbelief. “Wait, I’m not a criminal!”
Grabbing the poster from the officer’s hands to exhibit it to the lawbreaker, you explained, “Spider-Man, you’re wanted for illegal use of teleportation across the multiverse.”
Spider-Man squinted at the poster to examine it closer. “I’m only worth a bounty of 2 million dollars? Ouch.”
“You’re under arrest.”
As a group of officers surrounded Spider-Man, tension filled the air. They were on high alert, weapons drawn, ready to make an arrest. Peter shook his head in denial. How could this be happening again? Even on a different Earth people were after him because he was Spider-Man. He had to get out of here.
Just as the officers were about to move in, a loud, piercing alarm began blaring from a nearby building. The sound echoed through the streets, capturing the attention of everyone in the vicinity.
The officers, trained to prioritized public safety, immediately shifted their attention to the source of the alarm. Spider-Man used this to his advantage. In a swift motion, he launched into a flurry of kicks, each one executed with remarkable speed and accuracy.
His first kick was a spinning hook kick, his leg extended in a graceful arc. His foot connected with an officer’s forearm, knocking the weapon out of their grasp. Without missing a beat, Spider-Man transitioned into a rapid succession of roundhouse kicks. His legs became a blur of motion as he unleashed a whirlwind of strikes, sending his opponents stumbling backwards.
"Will," he exclaimed with a forceful kick, "this," he followed up with another powerful kick, "make my bounty higher?!"
All the officers were down now, groaning from the pain inflicted by Spider-Man. He met your eyes and let out a nervous laugh. “I’d say I’m worth 3 million now.”
You charged towards him, but he shot a web that glued you to the information desk.
“What the hell?” That shouldn’t have been possible. The cuffs were designed to stop Spider-Man’s webs from coming out from his body.
“Sorry, pretty police lady!”
Peter tried to break the handcuffs using brute force, widening the whites of his mask when he failed. He tried again, cursing to himself as to why it wasn’t working. You took that chance to reach into your pocket, pulling out your SP License. Pressing the button that activated your transformation, your shiny red uniform gave you enough strength to break free of the webs.
You charged towards him to gain enough speed, launching a flying kick to his face. Peter’s body was flung backwards into the wall and he fell flat on his face, moaning in pain. Before he could fully get up, you pulled out your magnum firearms.
“Stay down.”
Not like you gave him a choice. His entire whole body jolted from the sudden shock of your taser.
Peter stood in his cell bored out of his mind. How could things go so wrong so fast?
“Excuse me?” he called out, grabbing onto the bars. “I think there’s been a misunderstanding. I’m also hungry… I got homework.”
He heard the sound of footsteps approaching and he saw you, clad in your bright red uniform. On the left side of your body was a large number 1 in the color black. He gasped in admiration while you crossed your arms.
“You’re a Power Ranger? Dude, that is so cool! I thought it was just a TV show!”
You put your hands on your hips. “What’s a Power Ranger?”
“You guys don’t have Power Rangers here?” You de-tranformed back to your normal self and he shrieked in excitement. “Oh my god, your uniform just disappears?! How is that possible? That’s so convenient!”
“[Y/N].” You and Spider-Man shifted your attention to the deep voice, meeting face to face with your boss. First thing Peter noticed was the blue fur and snout that resembled that of a dog. The dog had a distinctive police officer uniform in black and silver with the SPD logo prominently displayed on and was very tall.
“Is that your boss?! He’s a talking DOG?!”
You facepalmed yourself, feeling like you were dealing with a child. “That’s Chief Kruger. Don’t be rude.”
Spider-Man straightened his posture and saluted Kruger. “Hello. Sir.”
“Good job, [Y/N]. You indeed caught Spider-Man,” Kruger narrowed his eyes on Peter, the piercing gaze sending chills through his spine. It was almost like he could see him through his mask. “Is this really Spider-Man?”
“I’m not Spider-Man,” Peter said quickly, grabbing the bars once again in desperation. You side-eyed him so hard. “I mean, I am. But I think you’ve got the wrong guy. I came here by accident.”
“And how did you do that?” you interrogated.
“I… I made myself a gadget to travel across universes.”
“See Boss? Illegal use of teleportation.”
“But he seems rather… harmless?”
Peter nodded his head rapidly. “That’s me, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, who is absolutely harmless.”
“He knocked out ten officers,” you informed Kruger.
“Purely out of self-defense. I just wanna go home.”
He watched the way you and your boss looked at each other. You took a deep sigh, slowly removing one of the black gloves off your hands.
“Excuse me,” you said, placing your bare hand onto Peter’s. He tensed up at the sudden contact while you closed your eyes.
See, you were born with psychic abilities and could pick up sensory impressions of others through touch. Memories of Peter’s life rapidly flashed through your mind, causing you to furrow your eyebrows in distress. You finally opened your eyes.
“He’s not our Spider-Man,” you said, removing your hand off him. “His name is Peter Parker. He’s part of a superhero team called The Avengers. Fought a nasty purple alien named Thanos.”
Peter stepped away from the bars pointing at you and Kruger in a quick back and forth motion. “H-How, how does she—how do you know that?!”
“[Y/N] is psychic,” Kruger explained.
“She read my mind, you read my mind?” Peter asked, shooting you an incredulous look.
“It’s protocol.”
“That’s an invasion of my privacy. And rights. The constitution says—,” you shot him a death glare, “I’ll be quiet now.”
“Our apologies. The Spider-Man we’ve been trying to catch escaped from prison recently. He somehow got his hands on one of our teleportation devices,” Kruger explained. “It’s a shame how he’s turned against us.”
Peter saw how you instinctively reached for your opposite arm, gently grasping it just above the elbow.
“Was he your friend?” You snapped your head up to look at him.
“No.” You punched the numbers into the keypad of his cell and opened it, grabbing Peter’s handcuffs forcefully to bring him closer. He gulped, worried he had hit a nerve but was relieved when you unlocked the cuffs. “I’ll send you home.”
Kruger stopped Peter from following you into the main headquarters by placing an arm out in front.
“Spider-Man was [Y/N]’s best partner. The two of them were inseparable, putting away criminals day by day. Until one day Spider-Man simply snapped, saying the world wasn’t fair. He became an unstoppable vigilante, breaking rules to deliver justice or just to release anger. She had to put him away.”
Peter watched as your frame grew smaller and smaller, wondering how much it hurt you to step up and do what needed to be done. He could relate.
“Let’s go send you home, Peter.”
Kruger placed a hand on his shoulder and guided him to the main headquarters. The hexagonal doors opened automatically upon their arrival and you just had finished strapping the gadget on your wrist.
“Okay. This device will scan your DNA and open a portal back to your Earth.”
You pointed your fist at Peter as random thoughts raced through his mind.
What if I just stay here?
There’s nothing for me back in Queens.
I should help her.
There’s a purpose for me here.
“Wait!” he shouted, waving his hands back and forth.
“What?”
“I can help you catch him. Let me stay here.”
You let out a chuckle. “No, there’s a whole team of people who are looking for him across the multiverse. Trust me. I’ll deal with him myself if he comes back here.”
“Then let me stay and help you with the other crimes in the meantime.”
“Why? You have to go back to your Earth. They can’t survive without Spider-Man.”
Peter thought about how low crime was and how he’d rather be anywhere than back home, where no one knew him. Where there was nothing there for him right now. He’d rather be anywhere but there. If he was sent back now, he’d be faced with his failures again.
“A lot has happened and there’s really not much crime that the police can’t handle there. I want to help you.” You lowered your arm, trying to figure out what his deal was. “Please? Come on, you guys have such cool technology! I have to figure out how you transform like that. Do you have a mecha? Oh my god, you fight in giant robots, don’t you? And it’s so badass that you’re the red ranger.”
“Why are you saying that like I’m not supposed to be one?”
“Well… because…” the atmosphere turned awkward real quick, “On TV it’s always a guy. So you’re incredible. Breaking standards. Girl power!” He fist-bumped the air like a total dork.
“Yeah, I don’t think I can send you home until after we delve into why that’s problematic.”
“I couldn’t agree more.” He took off his mask and you saw his face for the first time. He was young, probably in his twenties like you. His brown curls looked soft and perfect, his smile radiant. He reached his hand out to you. “Partners?”
You shook his hand. “Partners.”
He held your hand for a bit too long and you had to shake him off. “Heh. Sorry. Wait, does your SPD badge stand for Space Police Detective? You’re a space cop?”
“Uh… yes?”
“I could be Spider-Cop.”
“No, that’s a horrible name.”
“Oh, come on!” He deepened his voice to a comical level similar to that of Batman. “I’m Spider-Cop.”
“No, no Spider-Cop.”
“But I got a great theme song. Let me sing it for you.”
“Oh dear lord…”
Thank you for reading!!!

The Hardest Words
Anon asks: Can I please have a imagine where Bridge tries to ask out the reader but is a nervous wreck?
Here you go! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was relatively quiet in the common room. A few cadets hovered around the arcade machines but you were left on your own at a table by the window, reading a book. It wasn’t really grabbing your attention; Sky had suggested it but you began to wonder why you picked it up based on the suggestion of someone who thought reading through the SPD handbook weekly was ‘fun’.
Your attention diverted from said book to the main door, hearing the hiss from the doors opening. You saw Bridge being manoeuvred by Syd to get him into the room. He seemed to have been putting up a fight as he and Syd bickered as she pushed him. You couldn’t help but smile. They were your closest friends here, all of you including Sky had started at the academy at the same time so you were always paired up together.Syd spotted you looking over to her and Bridge, offering a wide smile and wave.
“Hi Y/N!” she basically shouted, confusing you slightly.
Bridge stopped his protest against Syd and looked over to you, looking like a deer in headlights. You offered a small wave back. Bridge stood straight and raised his hand in greeting. He began to turn away but Syd pushed him forward, practically into the table.
“We’ve been looking for you,” Syd explained, patting Bridge on the shoulder. He gave her a side glance before putting his attention to you.
“What did I do this time?” you asked.
“Nothing, silly. We just wanted to hang out.”
“Well pull up a chair,” you offered, closing the book over and pushing it to the side as Bridge took a seat. Syd was about to join him before she clapped her hands together.
“Oh no! I forgot I was meant to meet Sky in the simulator! I’ll join you guys later. Bye!” Syd skipped off, leaving just you and Bridge.
“She’s chipper than usual,” you mentioned, looking over to Bridge and seeing the colour drain from his face as he looked to the fleeing Syd.
“You okay, Bridge?”Bridge quickly turned to you, colour quickly returning to his face, even reaching his ears.
“Yeah! Yeah, I’m okay. Well, okay enough to be sitting here with you. I’m mean not that I need to be okay to sit with you because I know you wouldn’t mind if I wasn’t okay cause you would still let me sit with you and…”
“Good,” you said with a smile. Bridge returned it.
Out of all your SPD friends, Bridge was your favourite. He was goofy but incredibly smart and kind. He was actually the first one to talk to you on your first day, spinning into one of his long questions which you couldn’t help grin at. You and Bridge had gotten closer as time went on but you noticed he would get really shy around you sometimes. You didn’t know why. It mostly happened when you and he were alone, sitting close to each other. He would ramble more than usual and he would go red.
You hoped he wasn’t getting sick of you. It didn’t help you were developing a crush on him.
“What’s the book?” Bridge asked. You glanced over to it before returning your gaze to him.
“Some book Sky recommended. It’s dull,” you admitted.
“Too bad. The cover looks awesome. Guess you can’t judge a book by its cover,” Bridge said. You shrugged.
“Never have.”
“I know. I mean I know you aren’t one to judge a book by its cover. I mean look at me. You didn’t judge me with my powers. Or Syd. Or Sky! Or…”
“Why would I judge you because you have powers?” You asked. Bridge looked down at his gloved hands.
“A lot of people don’t accept someone that can read their auras or hear thoughts,” he said, his cheerful voice being downgraded to a melancholy one. Hating to see him upset, you reach across and placed one of your hands on top of his. Bridge looked at you, his eyes shining slightly. You gave him a soft smile.
“Well, you never have to worry about me judging you for your powers. As long as you don’t judge me if you hear the odd thought of eating my body weight in ice cream from me.”
That managed to get a laugh out of Bridge. He pulled his hands from under yours and took your hand into one of his. You felt your face get warm at the gesture.
“Y/N…there is something I want to say but…I can’t seem to get it out,” Bridge told you. You raised an eyebrow. Bridge couldn’t get the words out?
"Why's that?" Bridge shrugged.
"I dunno. Any time I think I can say it, something else comes out in its place. Like, it just replaces what I really want to say and I say something that has nothing to do with what I want to say and…”
“Bridge,” you said firmly. He stopped his rambling and looked down again.
“Sorry,” he mumbled. You sighed.
“No, don’t apologise. You’re just nervous about what you want to say. Why don’t we try going about it another way?” Bridge looked up again, sitting up straight while keeping a hold of your hand.
“What do you have in mind?” he asked.
“Well, you can’t get the words out so why don’t you tell me what the subject is? Like what is it about per say?” Bridge seemed to be in thought for a moment, seeming to think about what he was about to say.
“It’s…telling someone something. After that, I would like to…ask them something,” he managed to say. You smiled at him.
“Okay, that’s a good start! Next, who is the person you want to ask?”
Bridge began to fumble over his words again. You squeezed his hand in comfort, making him sigh before pointing to you. That caught you off guard. Why was he struggling to talk to you? Maybe your previous fear was right and Bridge was trying to tell you he didn’t want to be friends anymore…
“Me? You know you can tell me anything.”
“I know but…it’s hard to say this,” he explained. You swallowed the lump in throat, not sure if you wanted him to say it.
“Bridge, you don’t have to say it if-“
“No, I want to say it! It’s just hard for the words to come out I mean how do I say I like you without sounding…” Bridge’s face was practically radiating red as he realised what he had just said. You were just as startled.
“You like me?” you sounded it out like it was foreign to you. Bridge sighed heavily and hung his head.
“Not like but like like. Like a lot like like. Like really like. Like-“
“I get the idea Bridge,” you said, you smile getting ever so wider. You felt a blush creep up onto your cheeks; happy that it turned out Bridge liked you and feeling a bit silly you believed he didn’t. He smiled with you, his grip on your hand tightening.
“Well not exactly how I pictured telling you.”
“Since we are on a roll; what is it you wanted to ask me after telling me that?”
“Um…I know we both have a day off tomorrow. Our whole squad does! But I was wondering…only if you want to…I mean you might be…”
“Bridge.”
“Would you like to do something tomorrow? With me, I mean. We could go see a movie or go for a walk or go out to eat…we could do all those things or- “
“I’d love to.”
Bridge’s eyes widened at you answer, mouth slightly agape in shock. Your smile evolving into a grin. He was cute being all nervous and being actually shocked that you agreed to his invitation. His shock was quickly replaced with glee it seemed as he gave his own grin. You removed your hand from his, stood up and walked over to his side of the table. You took the seat beside him, turning to face him
.“So what you wanted to say was; I like you Y/N and would you like to go out with me tomorrow?” you said. Bridge nodded.
“Yeah. Kinda pathetic that I couldn’t get that out huh?” You shook your head.
“Not at all. I’m happy you managed to say it.”
“Really?”
You managed to muster up some courage and moved closer to Bridge, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. You were never aware of just how red a person could go until this point.
“Really,” you assured him.
“Uh…great! I’ve wanted to tell you for a while now but I could never find the right moment or even get it out. Syd heard me going over what to say then began dragging me here but I didn’t want to but I’m glad she did cause now you know and we will be together tomorrow…I mean not together together! Unless you want to, I mean…”
You let Bridge ramble on, just smiling at him as he went on.
You would have to thank Syd for the assistance.

Sooo about your prompts list, I was about to send you one for BBRae but then I wondered, do you have any other fandoms you'd like to take a stab at writing for? Other than teen titans/DC? I'd love to give you a more diverse request if that's the case! If that's not the case I'd love to give you a teen titans request too!!
thank you for asking 🥺🫂
honestly, i'm not in a lot of fandoms because i don't have the attention span to indulge in a new fandom 💀 but i think i do have a few fandoms up my sleeve? i can't think of a lot atm but let's see:
hsmtmts (high school musical the musical the series)
one of is is lying (the book series by karen m. mcmannus; not really a fan of the series)
(okay wait you know what,, i'm willing to write about any of karen mcmannus's frictional relationships if someone asks me too)
truly devious(????)
okay for this i dont wanna write the entire fandom's name buut i did write three personalized Todoroki x y/n fic for my friend,, so ig bnha???? (like, im only familiar w/ a few mainstream characters and i feel i'm more comfortable writing xreader fics for this fandom)
miraculous ladybug because why not???
the batbros x anyone (including reader) (i feel like i should just add this–)
power rangers spd (i think we all know who's fault this is) and
teen titans i'm sorry this is so messy and disorganized but i'm all over the place but i hope you could at least get something out of this and i just know i'm missing out on one of my most indulging fandoms but i'll worry about it in the morning 💀
here's the prompt list for anyone wondering :>
#i think i should reschedule my night schedule#11pm feels too late for my exam-stressing ass— 😭#ask#the-lighthouse-lit#i'll tag the fandoms in the morning 🤞#also thank you so much for the good vibes for my finals 😭😭❤❤❤❤

“Believably Shy” Bridge Carson x Fem!Reader
(A/N: Requested by Anon. Hi again and thank you for your request for my favorite Power Ranger! Where Bridge has a shy girlfriend and the team doesn’t believe him even though he’s talked about them a ton!
Warnings: Fluff. Mild language. Use of (Y/N) and (Y/L/N).
Word Count: 1,556 words)
It was happening again, an opportunity to prove Bridge’s words were not repetitious ramblings. One of Bridge’s days off.
A day you and him cherished for time together. The rare occasions where your boyfriend was away from his Power Ranger duties.
You would think his team would believe him when he spoke about you being his partner.
Where did they think he went most of his days off?
Then again, they had never met you. In that regard, you took the blame. The other half was Bridge not admitting to the others that you weren’t ready to be introduced to them yet.
The team who were so close and important to Bridge. There was a weight of pressure at the thought. At least Sky knew of you and Bridge’s relationship. It would had been odd if he didn’t.
Yet your nerves and anxiety pushed you away from even visiting S.P.D. Headquarters.
You shook your head.
Bridge really wants to share and show a huge part of his life. You sighed deeply. I’ll do it.
In an instant, it was decided. You were going to be brave. You were going to both visit the Headquarters and meet the team. It wasn’t as if you would be doing it on your own.
You sat down next to Bridge on your couch.
“You’ll be with me the whole time? At S.P.D.?” You questioned tentatively. “Right? The place looks huge.”
His face brightened at your words. The realization setting in. Bridge scooted closer to you, eager and happy.
“It is huge. All cadets live there and train. I don’t think I can show you the training rooms or the lab.”
“But you’ll be with me?”
“Yes.” Bridge beamed, a grin wide enough to leave him sore later. “I can’ wait to show you around and I could show you my room. Well, it’s Sky’s room too. I have the left side.”
You exhaled slowly.
“It’ll be fun.” He wrapped an arm over your shoulders to bring you closer. “I really want you to meet my friends.”
“I know. I just….I don’t want to mess up or anything. It’s not crowded or anything…I hope.”
“We’re not going to a lecture. Then it would be crowded, but quiet. During a lecture not after.”
Leaning into Bridge’s side, you smiled, “Good.”
As long as we’re together, we’re fine.
. . .
Later in the day, once you were fully prepared, you followed Bridge into Space Patrol Delta Headquarters. All of the large windows, sleek metal, and many hallways greeted your senses. It was enormous.
“No wonder you always get your steps in,” you commented.
Bridge squeezed your hand that held one of his gloved ones. A smile still lingering on his lips from earlier.
Turning another corner led you closer to the residential areas. More shades of blue mingling with the grays. A serious atmosphere nonetheless.
“Cadet Carson.” A gruff voice cut through the quiet of the hall.
Bridge turned to a stop, facing a tall blue canine humanoid in an impressively pressed uniform.
“Commander,” Bridge stood at attention. A gloved hand firmly clasping your suddenly clammy one.
“At ease.”
Keeping your gaze low, you felt a wave of uneasiness erupt from within you.
Are visitors not allowed right now? I don’t want Bridge in trouble. He’s so good. You swallowed. What do I do?
“Cadet Carson, is this your friend who you have been talking about?”
“Yes, Commander.” Bridge looked to you happily. “This is my girlfriend (Y/N) (Y/L/N). And (Y/N), this is Commander Cruger.”
With hands that were seconds from shaking, you glanced up and waved meekly.
“Hello, sir.”
“Hello (Y/N). Welcome to the S.P.D. Headquarters. I am certain that Cadet Carson had been giving you a well-informed tour.”
“Yes, sir.” You nodded.
“Well,” Commander Cruger glanced down at yours and Bridge’s intertwined hands, “I’ll let you continue.” He nodded. “Cadet.” Then went on his way.
In moments, you found yourself able to breathe steadier. You wiped your free hand on your clothes.
“Are you alright?”
You looked to Bridge seriously and stated, “He was intimidating.”
“I guess he can be.” He tilted his head in thought. “He seemed to like you.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.” A voice answered behind you. “He didn’t growl.”
Growl? You peered over your shoulder. Oh crap. Them. Separate colors caught your attention. Breathe. Crap. They’re all looking.
“Hi.” Bridge greeted the small group approaching the two of you.
“Are you going to introduce us to your friend?” A young woman with dark hair asked with a smirk.
Yellow…wait… Elizabeth? No…uh.
Out of the four of them, a calm young man stepped forward. Politely, he introduced himself, “Hi, I’m Sky. It’s nice to finally meet you, (Y/N).”
“That’s (Y/N)?” A young woman wearing pink exclaimed.
“Hi.” You waved and earned a grin from your boyfriend.
“Hey, I’m Jack and you’re real?”
“Hi, uh…pretty sure.”
“Well with all the times Bridge has talked about you, we thought you were only a story.”
“Not all of us,” Sky crossed his arms over his chest.
“But we know now.” The one in yellow said. “And we’re happy to meet you. I’m Z.”
“Sydney,” the blonde smiled.
“If it makes a difference, I’ve heard a lot about all of you. Good things.” You offered a smile.
Bridge gave your hand a light squeeze encouragingly.
Gesturing with his hands, Jack questioned, “So, let me get this straight. All of those weeks of you,” he pointed to Bridge, “describing a person and dates and random stories…was all true?”
Huh?
“Why would he make me up?” You countered. “I don’t think Bridge is physically capable of lying. At all. And…,” you glanced to your boyfriend. “Didn’t you tell them about the Hanukkah present I got you?”
He nodded quickly.
The two of you holding hands, gave equally curious gazes to the others.
Why haven’t they believed Bridge?
In a second, it was as if all of you were in a classroom. No one made eye contact. Not one made a move.
At least you weren’t feeling awkward or nervous any more. Yet you were left slightly confused.
“Okay.” Bridge exhaled and suggested, “Why don’t I show you where we hang out?”
“Sure.”
Your boyfriend led you passed his friends. The sounds of their footfalls following.
“You know,” Sydney spoke up, “I didn’t entirely disbelieve Bridge.”
Sky breathed out a laugh.
“What?”
“You thought he was playing a video game.”
Grinning, you looked over your shoulder. “You thought I was a video game character?”
“Sort of.” The pink Ranger admitted.
“That’s kinda cool.” You nudged Bridge. “Like a dating story app game.”
He clasped his other hand over yours he already held. An amused pull of his lips softened his features.
“Would you pick me if I was a character?” You inquired with a teasing smile.
The question lead to Bridge’s signature thinking face. Cute and serious. Always a temptation to press a kiss to his face no matter how scrunched up he made it.
“I would pay for the in-game extras that give extra scenes. Try to encourage the creators that your character was too underrated. You’d be my favorite.”
“Underrated favorite?”
A door slid open and the both of your walked into a lounge-like area.
“Because someone has to get to know you first to know how wonderful you are.” Bridge explained quickly. “Underrated and arguably the best character option. The story would probably be a lot of fun. Kind of like a comic, but not.”
“You’re adorable, you know that?”
Slowing your pace, you and Bridge gazed at one another warmly. Sounds and activities of cadets not interrupting the moment.
“Wow. They really are dating.” Jack stated alongside the other Power Rangers.
“And really cute.” Sydney sighed.
Walking around them, Sky added in, “They’ve been dating longer than you think.”
“How long?”
“Ask them.”
It was then that the Power Rangers realized you and Bridge were no longer in front of them.
“You’re going to question them, aren’t you?” Z asked.
“Yes.” Both Sydney and Jack nodded.
“Go easy on her,” Sky urged. “She’s shy.”
. . .
Quiet of a shared bedroom eased your muscle tension. A much needed break from so much newness.
“Do you want me to check your aura for you?”
“Nah. I’m alright.” You reached for his hands. “Thank you.”
He passed your hands, grabbed your sides, and lifted you onto his bed. With a smile, warm and loving, Bridge kissed your nose.
“Thank you for coming here with me.”
“I couldn’t tell you ‘no’ again. This is a huge part of your life.” You gestured towards the door. “They’re a huge part of your life. I really want to get to know them.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. They seem really nice.”
“They are.” He leaned onto your lap. “I hope all of you can be friends.”
“Me too.” You ran your fingers through his chestnut brown hair.
He pecked your nose with his lips again.
“But I have a question first.” You announced casually and poked his ear.
“What?”
“What’s with the toaster by your computer?”
“It has a countdown timer.”
“For perfect buttery toast?”
“Exactly.” Bridge grinned.
“You’re so cute.”
Oh, what a day with the best guy I have ever met.
~~~
Best wishes and happy reading.)
lucky charms- h.rj
characters; ravenclaw! renjun x hufflepuff! reader ft. gryffindor! mark and gryffindor! jeno (sigh)
summary; with the exams coming up, you need a little help with your charms. well you dont, you just needed an excuse to talk to your long time crush, huang renjun
an; i literally changed this on the spot 🤡 plot holes here i come- (also id like to think jeno is more of a hufflepuff but idk man)
sigh okay this is a long boi
end of year exams were in just a few weeks
yay, your absolute favourite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sarcasm
now, charms
in room 99, classroom 2E in the south tower
i did my research
you were pretty good at charms, not nearly as good as you were in the care of magical creatures and herbology though
still above averagely good
you know who else was good at charms?
huang renjun
the star ravenclaw prince boy, the pride of the house and a very beautiful boy
best boi renjun
if jeno was being quite honest he was SICK AND TIRED of hearing you two pine over eachother
jeno met you in first year, and you quickly became best friends and even ended up in the same house as eachother
despite having different friend groups (your friend group consisted of you and eunji), you stayed best friends until now aka 5th year
just go with it okay
so as he was saying before i digressed, jeno physically is pained as he watched the longing glances both you and renjun throw when the other isnt looking
but it isnt his business to meddle with your lack of relationship problems
best boi part 2
BUT! but! he will give you both a tiny! eensy! little! minuscule! nudge
that nudge being forming a plan with you
you were slightly reluctant when jenos very enthusiastic face greeted you at the table saying he had ‘a totally brilliant, spectacular, show stopping, wonderful, flawless plan’
this was jeno we were talking about
the same boy who planned the failed midnight snack run a few weeks before
and as soon as he mentioned renjun your eyes narrowed
"proceed."
the plan was for jeno to ask renjun to tutor his friend who was falling behind in charms
said friend was you
and you were ahead of the class
bUT!! you agreed because he wasnt in your class, so there was no way he could know that right?
wrong.
who was in your class?
mark lee. one of renjuns best friends.
also the boyfriend of eunji and the reason you wanted to gauge your eyeballs out everytime you turned around to talk to them
thats right eunji ditched you to sit next to her little markie. bitch.
nonetheless, you agreed because your dumb, spontaneous ass forgot that renjun even knew mark, because if someone said ‘whos mark?’ you would go ‘eunjis boyfriend’
so of course, when all the students were making their way to their class, jeno caught up with renjun seeing as they both had muggle studdies
"hey man, i have a favour to ask"
stage one of operation: stop the oblivious fuckers from pining over eachother (that name may need some revamping) was a-go
"depends what said favour is"
smart boi™️
"is it possible to tutor one of my friends in charms for the upcoming OWLs?"
oh? this piqued china pretty boys interest
"i mean, sure, i could do with some revision too. tell them to meet me at the library after school"
and so jeno walked away with a smug smirk, victorious
and when jeno told you he had agreed later in potions, you were yet you werent surprised
so of you trotted after last period, kinda nervous because youre about to be in the literal breathing proximity of renjun
like obviously youve talked to him before but this time it was just you and him
alone
no get those thoughts out of your head
n e ways u perv
renjun sat at the back table, textbooks and notebooks with his neat writing in both chinese and korean all over the pages
smart boi part 2
so seeing him not looking at you
attention whore
wow why am i so mean today
you sat down and cleared your throat, placing your blank notebooks on the table so the boy wouldnt get suspicious
you had to pray to whatever gods were listening for your cheeks not to flare up the colour of the strawberries you had for breakfast
healthy girl™️
and the gods apparently answered your prayers
because as soon as renjun looked up and into your eyes you swore you were too distracted for your blood cells to even think about moving towards your face
and renjun nearly had a heart attack (by aoa)
poor boy
jeno had NOT told him that he would be tutoring you
he was going to be choked later
"sorry im late"
renjun was nearly offended that you would even apologise to him for being late by
2 minutes and 48 seconds
"no no its okay i havent been here long"
that was a lie he had study period last and has been sat in the same goddamn chair for an hour already but your presence made his ass cheeks ache less
so he started teaching you, but ???
you seemed to fully grasp the concepts
confused boi
excuse me ma’am/sir/señor/señorita whatever you prefer to go by-
you need to brush up on your acting skills dude
appalling smh your drama teacher back from your muggle school would be completely distraught
so for the next hour renjun ‘tutored’ you
things you already knew but this was a dream-
and actually he was a funny guy
he was also muggle born, so you could both relate over things you experienced as a kid
this lead to a raging debate over dora the explorer
that bitch was shaded in said debate, fully annihilated
hola soy dora your asshole
but,, it was fun. because jeno was pureblood and grew up knowing about all his magicky stuff so he was kinda boring sometimes
no tea no shade
but you ended the session with smiles on both your faces, cheeks literally aching with how hard youd been laughing and smiling
so lads
the next day at breakfast renjun was all happy, plonking himself next to mark at the gryffindor table because
man does not give a SHIT about the looks he was getting. he is huang renjun.
"why are you so smiley this morning? and why didn’t you come to my common room last night"
the gryffindor common room was the dreamie hang out
no one dared tell THE mark lee to go somewhere else with his friends
"sorry, last night i was tutoring y/n in charms" smiley boy still
mark seagull eyebrows: activated
excuse him?? charms?? you?? the one who got an outstanding in your report card??
something smells fishy here
"renjun... y/n got an outstanding on her charms"
eunji who had magically appeared next to mark basically said what he was just thinking
confused boi part ??
"wait what?"
but later on he didnt question you about it
he silently observed you
he told himself that anyway
quite honestly if you were spending time with him he was not about to complain
he was staring at you, simply put
my leng bby (thats you, youre my leng bby)
so for the next 2 weeks every day after school you would meet up to ‘catch up’ on your charms
that being said it literally always, every time, ended up with you two talking about something unrelated
like the 5th day you had a conversation about which series of power rangers was better
"SPD, obviously"
AM I THAT OLD?? on god i hate it here
"no, y/n, we all know that dino force is better"
i agree with y/n on this one pal
on the 7th day you talked about muggle sports that you both enjoyed
"i played a lot of cricket"
"cricket? okay tory"
"i am NOT a tory"
on the last day when you should have been, you know, LEARNING
you were having a lovely old chinwag about the x factor
"simon cowell is a king"
"i agree"
legend behaviour if you ask me
wait does chinwag exist in other countries??? translation: chat
so of course the exams came up
but you were dreading them for a different reason
this meant the end of tutoring with renjun
this was super bittersweet, you wanted to spend more time with eachother
you literally could it wasn’t that deep both of you are so dumb smh aint nothing stopping you
jeno agrees with me too, mans pulling out his hair still as you had somehow not gotten together yet
it was like watching snails race, incredibly frustrating but you know that there is the finish line somwhere over the horizon
so you took your exams and both of you passed with flying colours, obviously
smart kids
and you ran right to renjun to celebrate
seeing as he had
not really helped you but you thought that he thought he helped you
oh no honey he knew that you didnt need help
but he didnt know whether to confront you about it?
rip your guilty conscience
so after a long discussion with mark, our china boy decided to ask why the heck you wanted his help when you were absolutely fully capable
unlike mark
and when you saw him approach you first in the halls your heart went
NYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
that was the sound of a fast motorbike
"hi y/n"
‘damn renjun, couldnt have thought of anything better than that?’
"uhh hi renjun"
awkward silence by stray kids
"i just wanted to know why you asked for my help"
okay where is the nearest shovel and what is the most efficient way to dig a large hole-
as if renjun sensed your panic radiating off you in waves
which he did
"not that it was an issue! i enjoyed spending time with you, it was just, you didnt really need help"
he was a pure boy
so you puffed your cheeks and decided to just come clean
somewhere, jeno felt his senses tingling
"genuinely i just wanted to spend some time with you because i really like you"
renjun froze and wanted to smack his head into a wall
bruh
you noticed his expression and panicked yet again
stop panicking man its okay i gotchu
"it was jenos idea"
blame jeno is always a fool-proof plan b
unless you get pregnant, that would not be a good idea
so i guess its not fool proof
BUT I DIGRESS
renjun face palms and groans
"youre kidding me! all this time we wasted doing boringass charms work when we couldve gone on dates"
confusion™️
but?? you felt hopeful??
"i dont think im on the same wavelength"
"i like you too dumbass"
oH so YOURE the dumbass??
yes, yes you are renjun is best boi, accept the L which is really a W bc renjun likes you back
jeno who had found his way to you, listening from around the corner sighed in happiness
"fucking finally!!"
'TRAINING RED'
It wasn't uncommon for you to be outside training in the middle of the night. The training course was the perfect way to clear your head and burn off leftover adrenaline after an exciting day.
After the team voted him unfit to be Red Ranger, Cruger stripped him off his Red Ranger status, and Jack realized that he had become power hungry, using cadets to get him food and do his laundry. When the team fought on their own, unable to form a Megazord, Jack knew he had to become the leader they needed and was relieved when Cruger gave him a second chance.
He asked around the base and knew where to find you - the best person to help him become the Ranger he needed to be. You were known for being one of the greatest cadets to ever come from the academy. You could recite every rule and every law word for word and hold the record times for simulation training and completing the obstacle course.
If there was anyone who could help him, it was you.
"Uh, hi."
You turned, surprised to see Jack scratching the back of his neck. "Hi."
"The word around here is that you are the best."
You sent him a small smile, "I heard what happened today. Congratulations."
"Thanks. It was a team effort. I'm just grateful that they let me back on the team. I don't know if you heard, but I got a little power crazy."
"I heard."
"I was hoping I could train with you? Maybe you could give me a few pointers? I want to be worthy of being the Red Ranger."
You smiled, nodding, "Sure."
"Thanks." He smiled, following you to the beginning of the obstacle course. "Do you often train this late?"
You turned, "We can wait until morning."
Jack shook his head, "No, I was just wondering why you're out here."
"Oh, I train to keep my mind off things. It gives me some distance to see things more clearly. Plus, it isn't as crowded."
That night, he asked you dozens of questions about Space Patrol Delta, and you told him things you had learned during cadet training. You learned about his past with Z before they became Rangers while you both stretched and warmed up.
Jack held his ribs as he laid on his back, looking over at you with a smile when he heard your laughter for the first time. You placed your hands on your hips as he sat up, resting his arms on his bended knees.
"Thanks for doing this."
"Well, it's not everyday that the Red Ranger asks for my help."
Jack chuckled.
"Ready to tackle the course?"
"Let's do it."
His enthusiasm wore off during his third attempt around the course, and when he slipped into the mud, you tried to help, falling beside him. Jack lost a few minutes due to laughing at the sight of you covered in mud from head to toe as he was.
Jack offered you his hand as you climbed out of the mud, and when he pulled you free, you collided with his chest. He placed his hands on your arms to steady you, planting his feet to avoid falling over. As he looked down at you, he felt something shift between you and not for the first time that night. Even when caked in mud, you looked beautiful.
"Thank you." You smiled bashfully, glancing at his dirty red S.P.D shirt before meeting his gaze.
Jack blinked out of his daze, "No problem."
"Although it was kind of your fault."
"Hey!" He chuckled as you stepped away, slowly removing his hands from your arms.
You cleaned your stopwatch with your finger and grinned when you saw it was still working. "Okay, this was worse than your first attempt."
"Back to the beginning?"
"Let's do it." You mimicked his earlier enthusiasm, making him chuckle.
On the fourth lap of the course, the sun was starting to rise, and you saw a great improvement and how quickly he learned from his previous mistakes. You watched as Jack climbed the final log staircase and stopped the timer. He shook the dirt off his hands and turned to find you grinning.
"New record!"
Jack grinned, catching you both by surprise when he picked you up and spun you around. You met his gaze as your feet touched the ground and placed your hands on his arms, congratulating him with a smile.
"Thank you. I couldn't have done it without you."
You opened your mouth to argue that he could, but Jack shook his head.
"Seriously. I would've given up after the first lap."
After spending nearly five hours outside training with you, one of the first things he noticed was that you were quick to dismiss any compliments with a bashful smile.
"For someone who didn't go through the academy, you'll make a fine Red Ranger."
It was his turn to be bashful. "You think so?"
"I know so." You sent him a warm smile.
Jack mirrored it, wetting his lips as he glanced away briefly. "Mind if we make this a regular thing?"
You shook your head, "Same time tonight?"
"I'll be here."
You smiled softly as you walked away together, and you gasped when he took off running.
"Last one there has to do a hundred push-ups!" He called over his shoulder. You shook your head, a giggle leaving your lips as you chased after him.
You caught up to the Red Ranger, and he chuckled when you overtook him, calling over your shoulder, "Sorry, Red!"
Jack caught up to you by the doors, and you smiled as you headed inside, navigating the hallways to the dorm rooms. Your room was on the opposite hall from his, and despite the ache in his muscles, Jack was looking forward to doing it all over again tonight.
"Goodnight, Red."
"Night."
You sent him one last smile before walking away, and Jack watched you go for a moment before putting his hands in the pockets of his black sweatpants, turning around to go in the opposite direction to his room.
Yellow and Purple - Power Rangers SPD - Z Delgato x Tate!Sister!Reader
Summary: I got a request for a Sky Tate x reader fic but I don't write male characters x reader but I've decided to edit it up and do a Sky Tate's sister!reader x Z fic instead to have some sibling interaction with Sky and fluff with Z
Growing up with a brother like Sky meant you were used to the cold, disciplined front he put on. He envied the Red Ranger title that your father had had before he was killed in action.
Sky’s powers allowed him to create forcefields, or shields. Your power was the opposite. You could create an energy based sword instead.
You were the sword to Sky’s shield.
You shared a room with Syd whilst Sky was with Bridge.
You’d trained alongside them as another B-Squad Cadet but you were also wondering when you’d get to be Power Rangers, like Bridge had asked Dr Manx.
“That’s up to Commander Cruger, not me. Dismissed.”
///
“Commander Cruger wants to see us. Now.” Sky stated, leaving you, Syd and Bridge to leave the couch, stepping over the mess Boom had left on the floor and follow him.
“That is who I wanna be. I’m gonna be the Red Ranger.” Sky admitted, leaving you to roll your eyes as A-Squad had managed to shoulder-check both you and Bridge.
“Jeez, did you see the size of them? Even the girls are massive.” Syd remarked, making you snicker.
“Clearly we need to hit the gym more, Syd. Bridge, what’s up?”
“What’s wrong Bridge?” Syd enquired as Bridge looked between the three of you and where A-Squad were heading.
“I don’t know. Their energy. Their colours. Something’s off.” Bridge concluded before the four of you had to head in to talk to Commander Cruger.
“Cadets. I trust you have enjoyed your training here at the SPD academy. It is not that your training has ended or that it will ever end while you are here, but as your commander, I must now call upon B-Squad to step and take on new responsibilities.”
Bridge and Syd fist-bumped as you and Sky exchanged glances, Sky’s proud smile making you withhold your giggles.
///
You met Z when the four of you were assigned to bring in some market thieves.
You saw Syd try to kick through one of Z’s clones, her leg going straight through Z’s clone’s torso before the clone managed to kick Syd to the ground.
“Structural manipulation of identical copies. Probably using a hive mind system for communication...” You realised, leaving Bridge to grin whilst Sky gave you a disapproving look as the boys helped Syd up.
“Let’s get ‘em!” Syd declared as the two market thieves ran.
Bridge and Sky went after Jack whilst you and Syd caught up to Z.
Your eyes widened at the clone standing in front of you, watching cautiously as Syd fought the original.
Your hand went up to touch the clone’s cheek, eyes widening when you realised your hand didn’t go through and you could feel the warmth radiating from her skin.
A yelp left your lips as another clone clipped your ankles, sending you towards the floor.
“This is so strange!” You grumbled as you dodged a kick, almost stumbling into Syd before she used that to her advantage.
You didn’t see Syd get thrown off the ledge and into the parking lot until you were looking down at your fellow B-Squad cadets on the ground.
“I’m sorry we can’t stay and play, but we gotta run-”
Jack was cut off as you jumped down, blocking their path with a head tilt.
“Y/n...” Sky growled, watching you try take on the two thieves by yourself.
“Sorry cutie!” Z exclaimed as you landed on your back with a thump, a groan escaping your lips as the two thieves escaped.
“Dammit!”
“That went well!” Bridge smiled, making you give him a look of disbelief.
///
“He’s going to be so grumpy if he doesn’t become Red Ranger.” you muttered to yourself, gaining the attention of Syd.
“What colour do you want to be? Why don’t you want to be Red Ranger?” Syd enquired, making your nose crinkle up in thought.
“I never really had a favourite colour. I’ll take what they give me.”
///
“Nice to see you two again.” Sky declared, removing his gloves dramatically as you, Syd and Bridge stood behind him.
You could feel Z’s eyes on you as she spoke, “I told you we should have quit while we were ahead, Jack.”
“Don’t worry! I’ll take care of this and we’ll be on our way.” Jack sniffed, determination in his stand as he went to ram at the four of you.
You couldn’t help but smile slightly when Sky finally used his shield to deflect Jack.
“Jack!”
“So now we can use our powers...” You mumbled, raising an eyebrow at your brother as he nodded.
“Guess what? You’re not the only one with tricks.”
This time, Syd and Bridge fought Z whilst you and Sky teamed up as The Knight.
“We’re not doing as well as before, bro!” Z stated, running over to Jack as the four of you stood in fighting positions near them.
“Run?” “Run!”
The two didn’t get very far before Sky got out the judgement scanner.
“You’re both accused of stealing and distributing stolen goods.”
“Can you prove it?” Jack growled, making Bridge grin.
“Actually, yes we can!”
“Guilty!”
///
“Wouldn’t now be a good time to morph?” Bridge exclaimed, leaving you, Sky and Syd to exchange looks of agreement after taking in all the robots surrounding the four of you.
“YES!”
“SPD! EMERGENCY!”
“Blue? I’m Blue? I’m supposed to be the Red Ranger!” Sky shouted whilst you exchanged excited fist-bumps with Syd and Bridge.
“Purple works for me.” You shrugged, getting ready to fight.
///
It was way after Z and Jack joined B-Squad that you realised you had more than friendly feelings for a certain Yellow B-Squad Ranger.
It didn’t help that you were now sharing a room with both Syd and Z.
That meant you were now hiding your nightmares from two people.
Syd usually slept through them if you were quiet enough, but Z was a light sleeper.
You woke up shaking, slamming a hand over your mouth to quell your whimpers as the memories of the day that yours and Sky’s father was murdered.
Your attempts to not wake Syd or Z failed when you heard the russling of the duvet and padding of feet walking over to your bed.
Your hands covered your face as you felt the bed dip, Z’s hands around your wrists to move your hands from your face. Z’s fingers gently brushed away the tears running down your face, feeling you relax as she pulled you into her for a hug.
“It’s okay, you’re okay.” Z whispered as she held you, feeling you shudder as the emotions washed over you.
///
When Syd woke up that morning for training, she was left confused as she spotted Z’s empty bed. One glance over at your bed revealed all she needed as Z was found cuddling you under your duvet. The two of you still asleep.
///
It was only after Mirloc was released that you and Sky found out that Mirloc was the one responsible for murdering your father.
Sky was mad, at everyone and himself. You, on the other hand didn’t show any emotion as you stared into space. Nobody could tell you were doing your best to control your powers until you lost it when Mirloc began to call Sky and your father worthless.
“Y/n, come on!” Sky stated, giving you a nod as he morphed into the Red Ranger, borrowing Jack’s morpher whilst you morphed into SPD Purple.
“I didn’t know they could fight like that.” Jack admitted, leaving Bridge to nod.
“They call it The Knight. They used it a lot during the academy, Sky uses his force fields or shields, Y/n uses her energy manipulation to create swords. It took a lot of discipline and training for the two of them to fight in sync.” Bridge explained as the four of them watched you and Sky take down Mirloc.
You let out a breath as Mirloc was contained in a confinement card, exhaustion washing over you as you and Sky stood there, taking in what had happened.
///
Z found you later curled up on the couch, your head on Sky’s shoulder as the two of you napped. She was about to leave when you stirred, reaching for her.
A small chuckle left her lips before she walked over to the couch, slipping into the gap on the couch before leaning into you.
Syd smirked as she walked in, snapping a photo before heading to her room for some peace and quiet.
"Happy Birthday Ribbon" Bridge Carson x Fem! Reader
(A/N: I don’t even know how many years this has been sitting in a large document where such random fanfic lay mostly unfinished and forgotten. Random mostly. Here, we have Bridge’s birthday and Reader wanted to attempt being a little alluring by being his present, but the couple are just goofs in love who want to be closer. Warnings: fluff, a little spicy but very little, undressing of Reader’s specified outfit mostly, mention of Reader wearing a bra (that’s why I put female!Reader just in case. I don’t know. It’s just there.), and already established romance. Word Count: 2,394 words)
~~~
Pacing in your apartment kept you preoccupied. Your nerves were creeping up with second thoughts.
You had an idea. A vague plan of a present, that in theory, could be attractive?
If anything, you thought, we’ll have a good laugh about it. Bridge is pretty good with understanding whatever the blazes I’m trying to communicate. He’ll never laugh at me. Thankfully. Just chill. This is about him.
Exhaling, you readjusted your jacket and checked the time.
Any time now.
A soft knock sounded on the front door.
Quietly rushing to the door, you took in a big breath before opening it.
There stood your favorite Power Ranger, Bridge Carson, with a wide grin upon his fair face.
The sight of him almost made all of your worries disappear.
“Happy birthday, Bridge!” You engulfed him into a hug.
“Thank you,” Bridge said into the crook of your neck before kissing the exposed skin.
“You are very welcome. How are you?”
“I”m w—.” Pulling out of the hug, Bridge took a good look at you. At the end, he eyed your boots before looking back up. “Why are you wearing shoes? Are we going somewhere?”
“Nuh-uh, birthday boy.” You shut the door behind him.
A smile pulled at his lips.
Goodness, you loved when he smiled.
“Then why wear boots?” He questioned.
And the nerves are creeping back. You thought as you walked further inside. Your feet easing you closer to your bedroom.
“Because…I wanted to be all dressed up for when you got here.”
“You didn’t have to. We could just sit in pajamas.”
Bridge had followed after you. No hesitation in entering your bedroom as he had done multiple times before.
“Tempting.” You pulled at your blouse as you stopped and added. “I just have plans…for your gift. If you’d like it.”
The mention of a gift perked up his attention even more. A curiosity of what his partner could give him was all ready on his mind no doubt.
That was when he spotted it. The first of numerous.
A bow taped to your jacket. Right above your heart.
Silently, ever in thought. Bridge’s eyebrows furrowed together as he stared at the bow.
“So....are you giving me your jacket?”
“No,” you answered slowly. Fingers fiddling together.
Bridge’s face was scrunched up for a couple of moments before his eyes widened. Brown eyes meeting your anxious gaze.
Okay…go.
“Do you like your present?”
“Yes,” he answered. Airy and adoring. “Can I have you? I mean not in the sense that I keep you like an action figure. Having you like we can do things. Have...having...each other.” He trailed off as he watched you shrug off your jacket to reveal a bow wrapped around your waist.
He hadn’t noticed it before, of course he didn’t, being that the jacket hid the bow behind your back.
“How many bows are you wearing?” He leaned around you to check.
“I could tell you if you really wanted, but I....I kinda thought that you might want to figure it out on your own. You like playing looking for clues, right?”
“Yeah.” He then looked up in thought and added, “Kind of part of my job.”
You swallowed. “I thought this could be…something.”
Black-gloved fingers lightly pulled at the larger ribbon.
“You can keep them.” You stated encouragingly.
“I thought you really liked ribbons?”
“I do, but you can have the ones you find if you’d like. Do whatever with them.”
“Okay,” he beamed.
“Here’s your first one.” You handed him the tiny bow that had been on your jacket before tossing the garment to your bed. Your nerves settling away the more interested your partner looked at the activity.
“Thank you.” Bridge pocketed the ribbon with earnest. “This should be fun.”
Without need for prompting, Bridge stood behind you to untie the ribbon from around your waist. Ever helpful and attentive.
“You tied this yourself?”
“I was being a little perfectionist about it before spinning it around.” You answered with a small laugh. “It took a few tries.”
A kiss was placed on the back of your head.
“It looks great. Sorry, I have to untie it.”
“Don’t be. You’re freeing me from its grasp. Plus it’s just a bow. I can always make another one.” You then added, “I’ve made plenty today already.”
“And I’ll find them.”
Honestly, you liked when he had an ease of confidence in what he could do. No inflated ego. Simply eagerness wrapped around knowledge and experience. It was attractive too.
He tucked the long ribbon by a decoration on your dresser.
“Hmmm.”
He’s so cute when he’s focused.
Brown eyes glanced down at your feet.
You practically saw the cartoon lightbulb light up above your partner’s head.
“Boots.”
“Boots,” you repeated.
I knew he’d pick up on that pretty fast.
Not wasting a second, he knelt down. Bridge begun removing your boots one at a time. Each set aside in your room. Once he noticed the odd shapes underneath your socks that didn’t belong to your feet, he worked faster to get you barefoot.
You bit back a laugh.
He really doesn’t mess around when he wants to complete something. Or find something.
“Did you make all of these bows yourself?”
“Not every single one. Most of them.”
“Huh.” He lightly pulled the ribbon off of both of your ankles. Careful to keep you balanced.
“Two in a row.” You declared proudly.
His mouth opened to reply, however his eye line landed on your hips.
What?
“Arms up.”
You stifled a laugh and raised both arms in the air.
“Ah ha!”
“Good job, Bridge.”
Tugging at your belt loop, he retrieved another bow.
“I’m getting good at this.”
“Or you know my mind too well,” you suggested, putting your arms down.
“Maybe.” He tilted his head. “I think I do. We’ve spent so much time together. Not too much like I don’t like the time we spend together. I really enjoy being with you.”
“Me too.”
The bow disappeared with the others as the two of you gazed at one another affectionately.
“That’s why we’re staying in today,” you announced and ran your fingers through his chestnut brown hair in a playful tousle. “Just us.”
“I like that.” He stood up to his full height.
“Us and a handful of ribbon. The cake’s for later.”
Gaze wandering your form again, he searched for details. Ever the detective when he needed to be.
You dared not interrupt him.
Eyes brightening and hands moving forward, he stopped himself.
“May I?” Gesturing with his hand up and down the row of buttons on your blouse.
“It’s alright. Your birthday present remember? You have full permission.”
“Yeah,” he breathed out almost to himself as his gloved fingers reached for your blouse again.
Working diligently, he started unbuttoning your top. Every exposure of skin made Bridge’s cheeks flaming red as yours felt like they were on fire.
Would there ever be a time when you two didn’t end up even a little flustered with how much you liked the other? Even when you had both seen a decent amount of skin.
Who knew?
Between your creative hiding spots, he found himself checking your waist to see if you wrapped your middle again with another ribbon. There was none.
“Getting warmer,” you whispered.
Pushing the fabric passed your shoulders he spotted a little ribbon tied to your right bra strap.
There was no helping the smile that appeared upon seeing him grin in his small victory. You were more than grateful that he was having fun.
“You have a really pretty bra. I mean it suits you. You look good. It’s functional.” He cut his words off as he pocketed the ribbon. “I still like your green one though.”
Of course he does. You smirked at the thought. It was the first one he saw.
There was no hiding his attraction to you then. Standing there biting his lip as he watched you standing with your blouse open. One gloved hand still on your shoulder.
“Are there more?” Bridge asked, eyes surveying your body.
“Yup,” you said quietly.
His eyes narrowed then as he investigated and pondered. Gloved fingers ghosting over your form as he thought. From shoulder to wrist and in-between.
To help keep your composure in check, you pressed your lips tightly together. Just in case.
Breathe. Just breathe or he’s going to worry. You thought quickly. Or he’s gonna… Heat rose up your chest at scattered images of Bridge being intimately attentive with you filled your mind.
Gloves ran up and down your waist leisurely. No rush in the search.
“Getting warmer.” You encouraged softly.
“Here?” He asked, poking the button of your jeans.
“Maybe.”
With an inquisitive pucker to his lips and a small tilt of his head, Bridge slowly pushed the button out. Yet not particularly as slow as when he was pulling down the zipper. His movements sent your heart rate up. Skilled, gentle fingers skimmed across the band of your pants before pulling away. Only for a second. No doubt he felt the difference. Peeking in, he spotted the last bow tied onto the left side of your underwear.
Your heartbeat was a little too noticeable in your ears for your liking.
Kneeling down, Bridge brought himself closer. To his credit, he did his best to untie it without having to pull down your pants. It was a small challenge. One he completed easier than it took you to tie it earlier.
Briefly kissing your stomach, he added the ribbon to his collection in his pocket.
“Are there any more? Not that this is that difficult. I’m just wondering where else you could hide a bow.”
Brown eyes gazed up at you as his hands held your hips.
“Where else could I hide a bow if there were more?”
“I’m not sure. Your legs?”
“Then I should probably tell you that you won.”
“I found them all?”
“You did. All seven.”
He threw his arms in the air victoriously. “That was fun.” Bridge grinned and stood to his feet again, “Thank you.”
“No problem, Bridge.” You said, matching his happy grin.
It was almost funny how you had started worrying beforehand.
Why would you ever have to worry when your darling Bridge was involved? You felt kind of silly for it.
“I feel overdressed.”
One of your eyebrows raised at his words.
Without another word, Bridge started removing his jacket, tossing it to the end of the bed where yours sat, and in one long motion he took off his shirt.
There was not a second thought in savoring the view. Yes, you loved his mind and personality, however you were not one to complain about how attractive he truly was.
“Oh.”
“What?” Bridge glanced from his bundle of fabric to your wide eyes.
“I...I did not expect you to do that. I’m the one over here with an open shirt, barefoot, and with my jeans undone. And you’re....you usually have a shirt on. Not that I’m complaining. Just surprised and…appreciating.”
“Well we haven’t done this before. Not standing up anyway.”
“Oh goodness.” You looked away, smiling despite the out of context comment.
He ducked his head.
The two of you had been quite intimate before, however he never removed any of his clothing due to his sensitivity to reading auras. Plus you had only gone as far as being left in a bra and shorts.
“I’d like to try something new. Technically not really new, just that we’ve never done it with each other. Not done it as in it, but that’s still true. I would love to get closer to being able to do it with you, if you wanted. I think it’d be fun and really enjoyable.”
Oh. Okay. Um. Goodness, he’s cute when he rambles.
“So you’d like to have more skin contact this time?” You asked for clarification.
“Yeah. I’d like to try.”
“What about your gloves?”
“Uh...let’s take smaller steps then work our way to where I don’t have to wear gloves when kissing you. Or touching you. Holding you.”
“That sounds really good,” you lightly pressed your palms onto his abdomen.
Bridge’s muscles contracted, but other than that--
“I’m fine.”
“Promise?”
“You don’t need to worry. It’s mainly my arms that are sensitive other than my hands. But you knew that. So we’ll be careful.” Bridge’s brought his hands to your hips and said firmly, “I promise.”
“Okay. I promise not to worry. Much.” You chuckled. “Happy birthday, Bridge.”
He pulled you in for kiss. All tender and sharing a familiar passion; one that kept you two pressed close for more. A quiet promise of trust.
“Thank you again.” He pressed a light kiss to your lips. A sparkle lit his brown eyes.
In the next moment, he had hoisted you up and off of the floor as he made his way over to your bed.
That power ranger strength was something else. And he wasn’t even morphed up in his suit. You supposed it was all those years of training that still continued.
“I could have walked, yah know?” You said once both of you were seated, kiss temporarily over.
“It wasn’t far.” Bridge got comfortable facing you. “And you like it,” he added as he tapped your knee.
“Both true statements.”
He smiled warmly.
How can I love him even more? You wondered and reached out your hands to him once more. Carefully running your fingers over his bare skin.
Bridge watched on. Quiet and calm.
You took your time feeling his shoulders, watching for any sign of discomfort from Bridge. Putting every ounce of love and care just for him.
“Here,” Bridge grabbed you by your calves and pulled you much closer, letting your legs encircle him. “Better?”
Humming contently, you nudged your nose to his lovingly. Quite happy with not having to stretch towards him.
“Definitely better.” Bridge linked his fingers against your lower back, keeping you near. Able to share warmth and reach one another with little trouble. He pecked your nose with his lips. “So much better. My favorite birthday.”
Leaning down, you pressed a kiss to his chest.
“What am I going to do for your birthday?” Bridge wondered aloud.

"Aches And Heroes" Bridge Carson x Reader
(A/N: This idea as been in a notebook for over a year. I needed to write about Bridge being all caring and cute. Again. Because I wish I had a Bridge for when back pain strikes back. Warnings: chronic pain—back pain, shower scene, kisses, and fluff. Word Count: 825 words)
It was one of those days. Overcast clouds in the sky, but no rain. A tease and frustration when it could pour any second.
You did not have time to wait. There were things to do and routines to keep. mostly, anyway.
Your back sure as heck did not like any of it. The day started and continued with popping your back more often to seek relief from aches. Stiffness could soon follow if you didn’t move. An aggravating cycle.
Grabbing a fresh set of loungers, you headed for the bathroom. With luck, you could be finished with your shower before Bridge came over. The probability was questionable, but he had a key.
A large step in your relationship with the Power Ranger that had lasted longer than most writing pens and socks. He kept the key and in turn he was welcome to your apartment any time.
Bridge was always good enough to ask first. Even if it was to retrieve some of his stuff he left over.
Already in the shower, you missed Bridge’s last text.
He was already on his way to see you.
. . .
Enjoying the water, you hardly heard the sound of your name and a light knock on the door.
“Hey, Bridge.” You called out.
“Did you read my last text?” He asked. “I got to leave early.”
“No,” you laughed. “I thought I could take a shower before you got here.” You started rinsing off. “Did you eat already?”
“Yes, I had two—.”
“Ah-hnn.” You steadied a hand on the tiled wall, again. “I’m okay. I’m okay. You’re okay.” You rambled quickly.
Your heart sank as you heard Bridge rush into the bathroom and pull the curtain aside.
“What happened?” Bridge’s face was drowned in worry as his chocolate brown eyes searched you for answers.
“My back tightened up and…. I leaned down again and everything just tightened and there was a pain in a different spot this time.” Your fingers crawled at the tile. “I almost fell again.”
“Again?”
Inhaling slowly, you answered. “When I bent over to get soap. It happened.”
“Does it hurt now? Can you stand?” He asked, looking as if he’d jump in and get you. He likely would.
“I’m okay.”
You straightened up, steadily.
“Are you almost finished or are you going to be in there longer?”
“I just got in…. Not long ago anyway.”
“Alright.” Bridge nodded. “Give me a second.”
Stepping back, he disappeared from view.
Just barely over the sound of water splashing and hitting the bottom of the tub, you could hear rustling of fabric.
Turning around with careful steps, you let the water massage your back.
Perhaps it should had been a bath day.
The curtain moved aside as Bridge stepped into the shower. He was missing two important details.
“Where are your gloves?” You asked, knowing full well how sensitive to reading auras he was.
“The counter. Well, beside the sink and your folded clothes.”
“It’s okay?” You asked warily.
Bridge took his place in front of you.
“I’ve been practicing. To control my power more when I need to.”
“Okay.”
He placed his open palms on your back. On contact, he closed his eyes.
“Bridge?”
He took a breath.
Very still, you made sure not to touch his arms. The last thing you wanted was to cause him discomfort.
Opening his eyes, he met your gaze.
“We’re okay.”
Shoulders relaxing, you smiled and added, “Hi, by the way.”
“Hi.” Bridge planted a kiss between your brows. “I missed you.” Once more, he closed his eyes. Hiding any amount of pain from sensing your aura so closely.
“I’ve missed you too.” Carefully, you wrapped your arms around his torso and sighed. “I’ve really missed you.” Dropping your forehead to his shoulder was as relieving as falling onto a pillow.
Bridge brought himself closer to you and let his hands roam a little.
“Let’s finish in here and I can get you a heating pad for your back if you want,” he offered. “Or I can get a bag of ice?”
“Bag of ice, please. Plus kisses.”
“Kisses?”
“Yes. All the kisses.”
“Alright.” He agreed with a single kiss to the side of your head.
The rest of the shower went by without any more pains or spasms. Mostly because Bridge made sure you didn’t bend in any way that would aggravate your back.
All there needed to be was quality time doing absolutely nothing. Which was one of the best somethings.
“Better?” Bridge asked.
“One more.”
He kissed your lips softly. Cradling you across his chest as you both lay on the bed. The many affections.
“Better now?”
“Don’t touch the ice pack. It’s still numbing everything.” You brushed back his chestnut brown hair and added, “So thank you. You’re my hero.”
To your forehead, to your nose, and to your lips he pressed kisses. All ‘thank you’s.
To him, you were his hero and more.
