📅 This day - on July 3, 1991, Apple and IBM signed a letter of intent to form the AIM alliance, which included Motorola. This alliance aimed to create an industry-wide open-standard computing platform based on the POWER instruction set architecture.

💻 The primary goal was to design a new hardware platform and develop a next-generation operating system that would unify the computing industry. IBM planned to bring the Macintosh OS into the enterprise market, while Apple aimed to be a major customer for the new POWER hardware.

🛠️ IBM and Motorola allocated 300 engineers to co-develop chips at a joint facility in Austin, Texas. Motorola would manufacture and sell these chips to Apple and other customers. Over 400 people from the three companies worked to create a unified corporate culture, promising to "change the landscape of computing in the 90s."

🤝 Despite initial enthusiasm, relations soured, especially after Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1998. Jobs ended the Power Macintosh clone licensing, leading to a contentious relationship with Motorola. This resulted in Apple being demoted to "just another customer" for PowerPC CPUs. Apple and IBM briefly expelled Motorola from the alliance, forcing it to halt PowerPC production until it was reinstated in 1999.

that may be why they cut out a lot of the sheikah tech, they can use any reason they'd like, but I think ultimately they just didn't want to deal with both sheikah and zonai at the same time, even if the narrative kinda suffers for it. had to cut corners for whatever reason

yeah, I have a few! When I moved up here I was only allowed to take a few things, but I managed to bring a hard drive just full with like, old, classical games. You do not wanna know how much it cost me, but most of them [besides a few corrupted ones :( ] work fine when emulated.

But, yeah! Favourite game definitely changes, but probably the Oldest Scrolls series? Even though they made about 16 different versions of the fifth instalment which - when you’re trawling through these ancient file directories - can be irritating and confusing. Still I have hours and hours sunk into it. Infact, I can find the exact amount, if you give me two moments.

im gonna lose it chat. got a new pc last year and its been having Problems ever since ..... 43 crashes of the same error type have occurred total since ive set it up. It crashed 6 times in a row last night while i was trying to play a (non intensive) game with a friend. kernel power 41 Every Time (except for when video card driver corruption got thrown in the mix but fixing that did not fix the non-bluescreens!)...

does anyone have Any computer knowledge as to where to even begin to figure out the problem at this point..... the crashes are without pattern, they can happen in under a minute from startup, or several hours into computer use, or not at all for several days. ive adjusted computer settings according to guides, ive replaced + upgraded the psu (got it done by people that knew what they were doing, NOT by myself :']), ive done memory diagnostics (nothing wrong). Genuinely what!!!!!!! fighting for my LIFE
