Old Dutch Ripples All Dressed Potato Chips Review
Tumblr media
Happened upon these chips at Cub recently, and knowing they were a Canadian flavor intrigued me. I'm familiar with the brand, being a Minnesota staple, and the other snack offerings by Old Dutch Foods are classics.
These chips are a perfect blend of thin and crispy, crunchy but not overly so. I think they're similar to Ruffles, but with even thinner ridges, almost like Corduroy fabric. They don't tend to break as much in the bag, and a full chip can be easily put in the mouth and crunched without breaking on their way in. Furthermore, they're not as hard and crunchy as kettle chips (which I do like, but sometimes they are too much). The full size chips are impressively large and feel great in the hand.
The flavor initially is reminiscent of ketchup flavored chips, but there's more going on. Supposedly the mix is supposed to include ketchup, salt and vinegar, sour cream and onion, and bbq flavors. Definitely a ketchup-forward flavor, and there is a garlic / onion flavor present, but hard to pick it out without knowing to look for it. It can easily be explained by the ketchup flavor. There is some sourness too but not not to the degree of a salt and vinegar chip. BBQ too is hard to find, but there are what I would call "miscellaneous spices" but really nothing I would point to and say "that's BBQ!". I could be convinced that there was a slight creamy flavor present, but typically I don't notice the sour cream flavor on other sour cream chips, so that could just be me.
I enjoy these chips very much, despite the flavors being somewhat muddled. My only real complaint is that there were a good amount of brown/black potato bits on the edges, which are not a problem for most people, but I tend to pick those bits off and not eat them. I would rate them as ketchup flavor with extra steps, but since I've been hunting for ketchup flavored potato chips for years, there's no complaints here.
9/10 is my overall score. I don't buy potato chips too often unless they're on sale or if I have a hankering, but I'd definitely pick these up again. I hope they become a permanent offering from Old Dutch.

Food Review: Everything  Bagel Pringles
Hey Everyone! So I tasted everything bagel pringles today. Everything seasoning was a little too strong. It has hints of cream cheese flavoring. It was delicious. I would highly recommend it. I get give 8.5 out 10 because of how strong the everything bagel seasoning is. Other than that, it’s a perfect snack on a budget. These chips were only 2 bucks at Walmart.

#DollarTree #HomeStyleSelectOriginalPotatoChips #PotatoChipReview
I tried the Home Style Select Original Flavored Potato Chips and these were pretty good. The chips were light and crispy. These chips were lightly salted and not greasy which is good.
The bag was flat with a little air inside with a few chips in the bag but it was the exact serving size of 14 grams.
I would eat these again.
Got at Dollar Tree.

good chip
they cut some chips too big so i either have to unhinge my jaw or get chip all over my lap and or boobs
taste is subtle and addictive......
i wish they'd use something other than avocado oil though, it'd probably be cheaper, and isn't the avocado business fucked up... I don't remember lol
it's obviously marketed towards bougie hippies considering the words fucking avocado oil are larger than the actual flavour or brand name..... doesn't make the chip itself bad, just makes it annoying /lh
potaty chip rating 9/10
minus one point for potential human rights violations

Don't ever try these. They are terrible, there is something faintly familiar about the taste, but not in a good way. They taste nothing like taco's or pizza, but more like sadness and isolation. Avoid at all costs.

I love these clickbait articles so damn much<3 Let's see what's in this one!
Tumblr media
Aww, darn, it's just about Batman: Three Jokers (which is of debated canonicity and also I haven't read it yet therefore it is not important to me)
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, but the Red Hood's greatest fear is not the Joker. Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think he's even a little bit afraid of the Joker at all.
Anyway, what a delighful article! I always like to check out the author's bios on these, and uh. Well.
Tumblr media
Apparently she writes fanfiction and has a Tumblr blog! I wonder if I've ever read any of her fics. I hope she doesn't see this and think I'm making fun of her. Hats off to you, Taylor, I hope you make a lot of money off this article!

On this brand-confused episode of Two Fat Guys Eat, we ravenously tear into a batch of Lay's Kettle Cooked "Ruffles All-Dressed" Potato Chips. We discuss how they've taken the best chip preparation and the best chip flavor (Yeah, that's right, I said it! Fight me.) and make something magical. We also discuss our confusion at why Frito-Lay's made this extra long product name...brand name inside a brand name? BRANDCEPTION.

Snack Catalog #576
Jiao Ma Fu Potato Chips / 椒麻師傅 厚切洋芋片
Vegan/ from N
They have two spicy potato chips, but the option I can have is with seaweed.
the spicy ones are also vegan, but with onion or garlic powder.
they taste like...regular o' potato snacks commonly seem in Taiwan...
I think their specialty is the spicy ones.

World of Flavours Korean Barbecue Flavour Rippled Potato Chips
and
World of Flavours Crispy Taco Potato Chips
both from President's Choice brand
featuring
That Apple Juice I Drank Once
and
Some Fancy Chocolate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[image id: product image of Korean barbecue flavored potato chips. end id]
[image #2 id: product image of taco flavored potato chips. end id]
The grocery store I shop at has multiple store brands, one of which is called President's Choice. I have no idea who this President is supposed to be, but his choices are pretty much across the board amazing. I am a fan of almost everything that I've tried from them from this brand (the cottage cheese is so grainy! But I can't find a brand that isn't in Canada so like idek, but yeah perhaps don't get the PC brand cottage cheese if texture bothers you). (Also the artificial-tasting holiday fudge, what even the fuck.)
Recently I tried two different potato chips. Unfortunately, they're ripple potato chips. Texture is very important to me (seriously, the cottage cheese is a nightmare) and the texture of ripple potato chips is inferior in my opinion, to normal, plain, wonderful, smooth, comforting, non rippled potato chips.
However, I thought that it would be worth a try for some new flavors. I don't hate ripple potato chips. They're just, you know, really inferior. Fight me.
The first one that I tried was taco flavored chips and I opened the bag and they smelled like a taco. I gave one to my spouse who said, where are the refried beans, where's the tomato? Where's the - and it's like, okay, you're not going to get every single component of what you put on a taco. I mean, personally, I don't put refried beans on my hard tacos, which I don't really put them on my soft tacos either, but definitely I don't feel like the texture works for a hard taco. And honestly, if I'm biting into a potato chip, I'm getting the vibe of a hard taco, and not a soft taco, but it doesn't really matter anyway, because even if you feel like you have to have beans on a taco, you're just you're not gonna get beans in this chip. Why? Why would they put bean flavor in? It's like mostly just taco seasoning. Anyway, I love the taco chips. But I wasn't like super super impressed by them or anything. Just, like. They're tacos. I mean, if you want a taco as a snack, then these are your chips.
But I also had these Korean barbecue flavored chips.
Okay, so when you have apple juice, and it's just the normal apple juice from the store, and you think hey, I kind of like apple juice, whatever. And then you have apple juice that is direct from an orchard. And you think this is what apple juice is supposed to be like, because the complexity of flavor is so stunningly there, that it just completely blows you away. You think, oh, I never knew what apple juice was before I tasted this - now I know what it is supposed to be like or what it can be like.
Or if you grow up in the States and you are used to Hershey's chocolate and then you have Cadbury chocolate and you're like wow, that's amazing. And then you're used to Cadbury chocolate and you get some like special like premium bean chocolate that it just has like a couple ingredients with specific special cocoa beans and they really care. Then you're like, oh! Everything even the Cadbury chocolate is so flat, so one-note, when you see the incredible depth of flavor in the fancy chocolate.
And so this is what the potato chips were like. When I had the Korean barbecue flavored chips? Thiis is what barbecue chips are supposed to be like. They have a depth of flavor that is just completely the best thing that you've ever tasted in your entire life. It is smoky and sweet, but not too sweet. But it's not just that you're getting sweet. You're actually getting like the barbecue flavor as well. And it tastes a little bit more savory. Like I don't want to say I taste meat, but it actually does taste like it's not just like a plain sugary like barbecue sauce the thing that you put on something, it tastes more like the actual barbecue part itself.
This is kind of the most amazing barbecue chip I've ever had, like ever in my life. I've tried different types of barbecue chips. There's a I think it's a Nashville barbecue chip. I'm going to try next. But the I don't think anything's gonna surpass the Korean barbecue to be honest. Barbecue potato chips have never been my preference. I was always a sour cream and onion person growing up. I don't know barbecue never really just did anything for me. But it's so cool to taste something that feels like the epitome of the type of thing it is.
And sically what I want people to know is like if you have the means to do it and you're like, you know what, I want to treat myself to something I think you should do that. I never knew apple juice could taste like that. I have never had any alcohol, but when people say all these adjectives about wine and you're like, how can it be all those things? The apple juice from the orchard tastes like that, so complex and something that I wanted to just have all these descriptions for, or the potato chips honestly.
Like I don't even want to feel silly that I'm rambling on forever and getting so emotional about food because it actually just makes me really happy. I'm just really excited to think like, I put this barbecue potato chip in my mouth and I was like super happy because of it. I don't know, like my life is hard enough. I'm just gonna appreciate the little things right?
Anyway, President's Choice wise, if anybody's in Canada and wants to try out this brand, I do recommend them. In addition to basic good quality, they always seem to be spot on in terms of how you expect a certain thing when you're reading the label and you absolutely get that from the flavors.
(my speech-to-text app thought 'ripple' was 'ribble' - that's kinda cute 😄)

Food Review: Lay's Funyuns Wavy Potato Chips
Hello ladies and gents. Today, I will be reviewing funyuns potato chips. The chips taste delicious, and with a suttle onion flavor. It’s not as strong as funyuns itself. It’s easy to enjoy if you like onion flavored snacks. Eating with French Onion dip would be a little too much onion.

#RapSnacks #RapSnacksBarBQuinWithMyHoneyTrufflePotatoChips #FlavoredFlavoredPotatoChipsReview
I tried the Rap Snacks Bar-B-Quin With My Honey Truffle Potato Chips and these were pretty good.
These were light, crispy, airy, and not greasy in texture.
These chips had a lightly sweet and salty barbeque taste to it while also having the taste of honey at the end.
I remember these chips being on the news that the Rapper on the bag got sued by the Mattel company since she used the Barbie name and needed to be changed.
I would eat these again.
Got at the BP Gas Station.
Found it.

Okay but what about modern Amnabel's group food preferences?
cracks knuckles. Alright, let’s get into it.
Annabel Lee - complicated. Annabel likes to have the upper hand in every situation, even in casual afternoon lunch outings. She will adapt to almost anything put in front of her. For example, if she goes to someone’s house and they serve tea and scones, she will claim that they are her favorite. Are they? Who knows. She will play it as if whatever is given is something she enjoys immensely, creating the illusion that the world seems to cater to her- that she got lucky that it was her favorite meal. She does this ALL. THE. TIME. “Oh, they are serving pie. That is one of my favorites.” No it is not. She is just making it seem like it is to create the look that “Wow, how lucky for her. The world seems to love her- they’re serving her favorite food!” You get it? She says it’s her favorite for convenience sake. This is why Prospero brings her so many varied pastries when he can. He’s trying to figure out what she actually likes.
As for what she actually likes: She has a pretty varied palette. She does prefer food that is considered more “common” as it tends to have more flavor, and she absolutely loves American food far more than what she had at home. Is the type of person to eat popcorn one piece at a time, but then resorts to shoving 4-5 pieces in her mouth when she’s invested in whatever she’s doing.
Keeps up appearances by ordering what is expected of her. Teas, light foods with small portions.
- packs snacks throughout her school day like grapes or small cheese cubes. Dainty, barely filling little things.
- She loves spicy foods. Hot curries, salsas, she loooves the burn.
Ada - Also keeps up appearances, but obviously not the same way Annabel does. She will pretend to only like more expensive things, but she honestly thinks such things are too bland. She’s a southern girl used to flavor and savory dishes.
- LOVES cheap frozen dinners. She would rather die than admit this of course. Like think those frozen mac and cheeses you put in the microwave.
- She can and will force herself to eat something she doesn’t like, especially if Annabel/Prospero is eating it.
- Hates squid. Calamari? Yuck.
- She likes to comment on things she eats like she’s doing a shitty food review on Youtube. The only person that listens is Will, but you can’t really tell that he’s even paying attention.
- Loves celery
Prospero - This man has a sweet tooth, but he knows how to keep it tamed. He has a very balanced diet and makes sure to make every lunch or breakfast filling enough to last him through morning classes.
- Salad man. He will put so much shit into a salad. He’ll make days worth of salad and sometimes he and Annabel will just eat the whole thing in between classes.
- His favorite dressing is balsamic vinaigrette.
- Very rarely eats fried foods. Corn dogs are cool and he’s more likely to eat one of those rather than something else fried
- For snacking he always gets the things that are called “thins” or “light”, and he is very strict when it comes to the “no eating three hours before sleeping” rule.
- This man hates cashews
- I HC prospero as a mama’s boy idk i get the vibe. He grew up having homemade pasta and refuses to eat it if the restaurant isn’t like locally Italian.
Montresor - Big on steak. Big on potatoes. Big on veggies when they’re roasted or oven baked or anything where they’re mixed up and peppered and cooked. Dude will eat a raw carrot for fun though
- crunches loudly on chips. he does it on purpose.
- has a surprisingly shitty spice tolerance. It’s not BAD, but his face will get red and he tries to play it off.
- Likes messy finger foods like ribs
- Licorice kind of guy. specifically red.
- Prefers green apples over red ones
- really likes blue cheese, especially for his wings
- cannot STAND marzipan anything
Will - Peaches peaches peaches peaches pea-
- Prefers simpler foods. Basic ham and cheese sandwiches, a bag of chips…normal and boring.
- gets overwhelmed when served anything more complicated than what you’d get at an Applebees. He doesn’t really think he nor his body are suited to eat such things. They’re TOO delicious and he isn’t worth it.
- He loves cheesecake brownies. He’s literally only had them twice in his life but he would go insane if he ever saw any for sale anywhere
- The drinks he gets at coffee shops are considered “girly” to Montresor, so he only buys them when he’s alone. Like fruity refreshers and stuff.
- He would like a lot more food if he actively attempted to try new things, he just has no desire to treat himself.
- eats wheat thins for fun
- Only eats 1 singular fruit for breakfast or just skips it all together.
- would probably start crying if he ate a soup. it’s warm and filling and it makes him feel like a waste of space. the warmth settling in his stomach reminds him that he’s real and he hates it.

casey + alex vs. smartphones
when bored or taking a break from reviewing her case notes, casey plops down on the couch (most of the time accompanied by a beloved bag of potato chips) scrolling through instagram reels of cat videos that she sometimes sends to alex.
alex calls casey out from the dining table where she’s preparing her cases and yells at her to stop sending her stupid videos because her phone keeps pinging. under grumpy breath, alex opens casey’s messages to watch the videos she sent. she smiles and wonders whether it is time for them to try and adopt a pet.
other things casey does with her smartphone:
1. casey learns new recipes by watching youtube videos so she could impress alex with her cooking skills. she also browses tagged restaurants on instagram reels so she could take alex there if she thinks they’re worth it.
2. she leaves movie reviews on letterboxd, especially if the ending of a movie really upset her
3. when she’s antsy, she plays harvest moon/stardew valley
4. casey has pinterest boards that she updates regularly: “date with alex ❤️”, “small tattoo ideas”, “poems that remind me of alex ❤️”, “stupid memes”
5. she has a reddit account but never posts. she uses it just to read the ridiculously funny and the questionably morbid.
casey’s google search history:
how to handle anxiety symptoms / sous vide vs. pressure cooking / are all orange cats crazy / gone girl actress / is orange from the color or the fruit / do fish pee / is bloodbending illegal / duck penis / date night ideas / is mayonnaise better for grilled cheese / padded sliding mats / jurassic park survival guide / new ways to pleasure your girlfriend / silly cat names / sneaky ways to ask your girlfriend to marry you / will our cat attempt to eat our pet fish if we decide to also keep fish pets / gelato vs. ice cream / what to give wife for first anniversary
things alex does with her smartphone:
(the first thing alex does in the morning after brushing her teeth is checking whether she has important emails that need to be urgently responded to)
1. she has a binaural beats/nature sounds app so she can listen to them to help her with anxiety when casey is not around
2. her mobile games of choice are (a) duolingo - to channel her competitiveness and always get to number 1 on leaderboards; (b) merge cooking; (c) nyt games - to pass time when she can’t sleep
3. casey encouraged alex to start journaling to help relieve some symptoms of anxiety. for convenience, alex uses the notion app as a semi-journal, semi-to-do list. at the end of a tiring day and esp if casey is on a work trip, she scribbles a brief narrative of how her day went and how it made her feel. sometimes, she shares her notes to casey.
4. convenience apps: uber, uber eats, doordash, pocket yoga, skyscanner, wise, paypal, opentable, airbnb, booking.com
5. alex has subscription to both apple music and spotify. she insists that sound quality is better in apple music but spotify’s user interface is friendlier. she has different playlists for each mood, and made playlists for casey. she hasn’t shared all those playlists to her though.
alex’s google search history:
