Ah, children. The gifts that keep on giving.

Ever since school started back up, my nephew has been sick.

My family has been passing back and forth for the last month, a cold or some cruddy bug.

Now, my niece brought home pink eye. And now I have it.

We have a literal jug of hand sanitizer at our door we all use when we get in every day. I wash my hands regularly and change my sheets and the stuff you're supposed to. I think the hand sanitizer top has to be infected...

I have the sinus infection/ cold from hell.

I have an ear infection.

I have tonsillitis.

I have postnasal drip.

I have pink eye.

I feel like my head is gonna float off my body, I cannot breath through my nose, I cannot stop sniffling or coughing or blowing my leaky nose, I cannot get this sore throat to stop, I cannot hear out of my left ear, and my right eye is red, sore, and gross.

I have to be dying.

In case you didn't know, if you have postnasal drip or suspect you do, it can cause throat irritation! The irritation will be an inflamed throat (you can see it in mirrors), soreness (might even be slight, persistent, and not get worse over the course of a few days), and may have sores.

Remember to still get tested for strep or ask about hand, foot, mouth disease if you suspect you have either of those, and to of course see a doctor because you might need an antibiotic.

I went to bed early last night because I had a sore throat and figured I’d need the extra sleep if I’m coming down with a cold…. My neighbours guests were super noisy coming in late, someone set off fireworks at midnight (illegal), and the sore throat got bad enough to wake me up anyway….

To be honest, this is my first definitively positive COVID test in four years, and that's having had my roommate test positive earlier this year and having had to isolate with her. That's not a bad run at all, I just wish it hadn't been four fuckin days before the holidays start.
