Mark Cote Info Reveal- Silvermist's Quest

(Long Post Warning)

Me and a few friends are doing our own searches for information on the elusive Tinker Bell draft. We were able to secure an interview with Mark Cote, who was on the film for both a 2d and 3d version. Unfortunately, we were not able to save many recordings in good quality and mine has no audio. I also failed to transcribe our meeting, but hopefully this will not be our only meeting.

Before the original movie was put into 3D, it had several character quests all linked to the narrative to save Neverland. I thought it would be like Disneytoon's failed Enchanted Tales series, but unlike Enchanted Tales or Cinderella 2 the segments wouldn't be so self contained. It was like the movie Fantasia, but connected through a larger plot. There would also be a ticking time bomb in the form of the worlds of the mainland and Neverland combining due to the theft of pixie dust by Tinker Bell and friends before they earned it messing up the natural order. He told us that all 5 character quests would have to be approved by management, so he experienced delays in production. Several quests were greenlit but they had a hard time when they got to Silvermist and Iridessa.

We asked in a riddle, what brings water life? It took a while to get an answer, but @princessquinnella was reminded of water fairies in the books. The thing is though, Silvermist was conceived pretty differently from Rani. Despite being a water fairy, she was a repressive and pragmatic character. If you had a Disney Fairies DVD that came with the toys, you might remember the line "Still waters run deep" in reference to Silvermist. The pond and lotus where she lived, is implied to be "Stillwater Springs" or Lilypad Pond from what we know. x Here is the description from the illusive "pitch book"

Firstly, Mark told us for this "epic story" Silvermist's quest would be next to last. None of the fairies can fly because of the magic has dissipated. The story starts in her home of Stillwater Springs/Lilypad Pond, she creates a magical cloud named Tempest to fly. Tempest is an opposite to SIlvermist, he's a joyful and free spirited cloud like a impish child. Like in the final cut, there are 4 seasonal areas? There would be 5 themed areas in Pixie Hollow where each fairy lived. Many inanimate things live here in this word inspired by Art Nouveau.

She needs to fly on Tempest to reach the "water of life", and she travels to Pixie Hollow in a harsh desert area. She has a small glass vile to collect the "water of life" and flies over the stretch of desert looking everywhere. There's a color script of this segment somewhere on AODF (dont know where to link), where it is blurry and you can see the desert.

Silvermist and Tempest even meet other clouds on their journey, but they are grumpy and stern adult clouds.

Here, on the color guide- we see things a bit different. There seems to be some sort of snowdrop-esque flower in place of Tempest- but also some clouds, so I'm not sure what it could be.

Silvermist has been in the sky for a while now in this desert, but cannot find the water of life. Suddenly! Tempest, the child cloud starts to die. Silvermist is scared, because her friend is dying and she hasn't found the water of life. She sits down defeated... and starts to cry.

He showed us a piece I am very familiar with:

It is then, when she is at her lowest- when she cries... Tempest is resurected, and she is able to save her friend and collect the Water of Life, the quest item she needs to save Pixie Hollow.

Lastly, I should say the desert like areas in Pixie Hollow remind me of the elusive art from the mysterious artbook "The Art of Judith Holmes Clarke" (excuse quality, its a short frame in an IG video)

Now it's time for the next quest to reveal information about, there should be 2 left with more info to share with you...

eden. megatron(idw) / fem!reader drabble (nsfw!) There was a story you told him, one about disobedience. Megatron watches you on the far end of the bar, deep in conversation with Skids and Swerve, fingers working their way into the pit of a foreign, red fruit.

As your hands were trying to work past the berry's surface, rubbing across the skin — nails ready to pierce the meat — an image of you from last night flooded his processor, breathing ragged and shallow as he dives to kiss you between your thighs, servos dragging along the trembling line of your knees.

A pomegranate, that's what you called it. A strange, alien name for a strange, alien fruit. One you love so dearly. He wonders if it would come apart under your clever ministrations the way you did beneath him, whether it would be as pliant as you were under the silhouette of your shared hab suite — spread open and willing, an invitation to drink. To taste.

He could see you were starting to grow irritated, eyes flickering down to the spill you've made on the table, briefly excusing yourself from the exciting conversation erupting around you. Megatron tried not to smile to himself, somewhat amused. Surely, you would know it takes patience. As all good things come — and you were so good for him last night: You were refraining from begging him to enter you, tired of waiting, already aching from his servos. Yet you kept your composure, save for a few whines, and he was so proud of you. Obedience, after all, was the moral of the story.

Or maybe it was temptation. Megatron thinks you look divine undone, hair mussed and sticking to the side of your flushed cheeks, sweat slicking your neck. It made your body glisten under the faint light seeping in from outside past the thin, seams of the walls. At times, he needed to catch himself from being greedy, from wanting more and more from you. How can he not? You told him it was the taste you couldn't get enough of — pomegranates are rare and sweet, almost unlike anything. He couldn't agree more, still tasting you on his glossa.

Finally, you were successful, and you lapped at your reward — a trail of ruby dripping down your chin as you tilted the shell towards your mouth. Tasting. Drinking. You told him it tasted like summer, your favorite season. Which is maybe why he's so keen on opening you up, like a flower blooming under the solstice sun. And you did, reminding him again of how he was captivated by a flower native to a foreign land. Always so kind, always so giving. Different from his metal, unyielding world. You gave him summer — different and warm.

You meet his gaze. Despite being caught, Megatron couldn't look away. He could sense your relief that the mess you've made hid the shade of red you were turning, cheeks stained as Swerve passed you a wipe, already nagging about the drying blotches of red all over his table. In the story, Eve was tempted — seduced into biting the forbidden fruit. And as your tongue darts to lick the remaining sweetness down your bare arm, he thinks of you as the serpent. Vixen. Teasing.

He clenched his dentas. Megatron's mouth suddenly feels wet, flooding with want.

Nikto likes to think his subtlety is practiced and flawless. The clean slice of a glinting blade, the perfect aligned shot. The annoyed sneer hidden under his mask as it starts to rain again during another field mission.

But with you, it's like all his practiced masks and tricks never existed in the first place.

if you walk on over to him whilst he's on the couch, he always parts his legs so that you can settle down on his thigh :( he expects it, and he gets in a right mood if you're not close enough.

Say, to play with him, you completely ignore his gesture to settle on his knee to go sit as far away as possible. This man fixes you the most stern and pinpointed look ever. Now he's not one to outright grab you- he's not that barbarish. Instead he tries to inch closer- pining over you quietly until you come closer to him. First it starts with a palm cupping over your ankle- petting and rubbing there as he listens to you talk. Next thing you know, your leg is inching closer into his lap, and he's massaging his hand up and down the soft plush curve of your shin in soft repetitive motions. Then, when he thinks he's sly, he curls his arm around your waist and hoists you onto his knee to sit. He cuddles you close, huffing and grumbling happily as you squeeze him back and scratch a little at his buzz cut and the tense nape of his neck. Buries his nose into your neck to smell you, holding you close possessively.

His subtlety is a sledgehammer.

This is very Warrior of Light and MSQ based. It's set from a Post-Endwalker mindframe, so there are some minor/vaguely worded spoilers.

I. Where is your Warrior of Light from? What was their home like growing up and what set them out on their journey?

2. What city-state did your WoL start in? How did they feel about it then, and how do they feel about it now? (ie, did their experiences sour their perception, or make them appreciate it more?)

3. How do they feel about being Hydaelyn's chosen? (Feel free to break it down from ARR's "Champion of Eorzea" all the way to "The Savior of Etheirys" as much as you like. Have those feelings changed, or just grown more complex?)

10. What does home look like for them now? Do they still return to the home where they started, and if so has it changed at all? Or have they found or forged a new home? Who do they live with, if anyone? What sort of things do they keep in their personal space?

17. Taking a step away from "canon", do you have any wholly unique side quests and adventures your Warrior of Light has gotten caught up in? Did they chase down ghosts of their own past, get married, open a bakery, or fix an ancient blood curse on their family line? Have they reunited with loved ones or buried old hatchets? If there's some unique story behind your character, how does it show up and how did it play out?

18. How do they feel about the work they do? As the Warrior of Light they're tasked with quite a lot of violence, is it something that comes naturally to them or do they resist it? Are they merciless, do they try to spare as many lives as they can, or do they fall somewhere in between?

19. While many fights are dramatic or have high stakes, are there any especially memorable or difficult fights they encountered? Outside scripted battles, were there conflicts that you thought felt better if they were tweaked for narrative or lore-based reasons, ie their first time fighting a primal? Or perhaps a more meta "You the player had a hard time so it translated into headcanon for them".

20. Are there any unique abilities that they possess outside of what's in-game? Are they actually a dragon, or do they see visions of the future? Or, is there a special way that their Echo manifests?

21. Jobs! What job is your character and why is that the route they chose? Is your WoL a Jack-of-all-Trades, or just have one (or a few) specialties? Did they start with one job and change to another? Have you 'homebrewed' their job at all, adding any unique twists or details to it?

22. What are their feelings on the Scions? Who are some of their closest allies and dearest friends? Are they more of a loner, or closer to people outside the Scions? Have they kindled any romances or partnerships?

23. How do they feel about getting pulled into politics? Are they adept at navigating political intricacies, or does it go over their head? Do they appreciate getting asked to do more than punch their enemies, or would they really rather just punch their enemies? Are there any areas they like to be particularly involved in?

24. How do they feel about Hydaelyn? What was their perception of the Mothercrystal in the beginning, and how did that change by the end, if at all?

25. Do they have any particular enemies that stand out to them? Someone who inspired a lasting grudge? Our beloved and beloathed antagonists give us plenty of reasons to despise them, but are there any that particularly rubbed your WoL the wrong way? On the other hand, are there villains they can't help but sympathize with, even if it's at odds with the narrative or their allies?

26. What are their thoughts on the Ancients, their way of life, and the world they lived in? Did they sympathize at all with the Ascians, or did learning the truth not influence them in that way?

27. How well known are they? Does everyone know their name as the Warrior of Light, or have they managed to maintain some level of anonymity? Do they prefer it that way, and do they have any struggles resulting from it? (Getting stopped on street corners VS awkwardly avoiding questions.)

28. What's something they look forward to? Exploring the stars, more of a place we've already been, or somewhere we haven't? Or do they look forward to retirement, starting a business with their craft of choice, or any other little old thing?

⊱♥︎ is the free! fandom as dead as a ghost town? probably, do i care? not at all, i have been watching the last season and this little thing came up, i have many feelings about haruka nanase.

Haruka wouldn’t necessarily call himself boring, but if put side by side with his friends he could. He doesn’t have Asahi’s boldness, or Nagisa’s bubbliness, or Kisumi’s way of making anyone feel welcome, much less Rin’s ease to break the ice stating that even while having a girl’s name he is a boy, and of course he is far from having Makoto’s wit to start a conversation with any topic. 

And after the first awkward stage of your relationship breaks, the one from the first 3 months give or take he begins to worry about it in a way he simply didn’t care about before. 

He finds it odd, new. The past year he has been so confused and then hesitant to take your friendship from just that to a relationship that he never really thought how things would be once you were together. 

And it’s been bothering ever since he accidentally heard a conversation you had with a friend last week when he went to pick you up from the library. 

“…But seriously, what do you two even talk about?” She laughs, and you laugh with her. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard him say more than three words together”.

“You just haven’t been lucky then, but don’t worry about me, Haru is plenty interesting even when he is quiet”.

And your answer eases him, and yet he can’t help but be bugged about it in an intrusive way that shows up even when he is trying to eat. 

Right now you’re lying next to him. Your feet are on his lap and his are next to your hips. Sitting on opposing sides of the couch you’re both reading. He can see you’re really focused by the way your brows have furrowed. 

Is this really what you’d like to be doing right now? It is Friday night and even if he has practice tomorrow morning, you don’t. 

“Do you wanna do something else tonight?”

“Mmm?” Your eyes lift from the page with a curious look headed his way. There’s always something in the way you look at him, so openly and intensely yet kind and soft that has him nearly blushing.

“I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to go out or something…”

You smile, hand reaching for his calves and softly massaging the hard muscle. “Not really, do you want to go out?”.

“Not really”.

You laugh and put your book down on the floor while snuggling into the armrest. He inadvertently moves to give you room to accommodate yourself.

“Do you wanna watch a bad movie and order take out?” You ask.

Haru smiles, softly and  nearly missable from the untrained eye. 

Sometimes Haru worries you’re gonna get bored of him, he frequently quotes his grandma as a source of wisdom, he eats nearly the same stuff every day and he is obsessed with water. 

If only he knew those same particularities are such a big part of why you fell in love so quickly, why you went to bed dreaming of the day where you would be bold enough to tell him how you felt. Except he had beat you to it.

Sometimes he worries you’re gonna get bored of him, but fortunately right now his biggest concern is what kind of mackerel dish he’s gonna get for dinner.

The Repliku Problem:

There is an issue of Riku Replica's portrayal in Kingdom Hearts and I mean how others see him in the community that goes against everything he stands for.

A part of me hates that he is called Repliku or Riku Replica because it goes back to Riku. But I'm still going to be referring to him as Repliku because there's no better name.

Repliku's story is all about him being someone else from Riku. He learns he actually is his own person and not just a copy. And this can also be applied that his emotions and feelings are different from Riku's. And Riku doesn't feel the same feeling or emotions and Repliku does. They can feel similar but it's obviously different for different people.

But there's a large misconception that whatever Repliku feels so does Riku. Whatever happens to Repliku also applies to Riku. But that's not the case at all??

Repliku doesn't get his own things in the fandom, no he has to share with Riku. Any shipname between Repliku and another is always mixed in in the simple Riku ship rather than using Repliku.

The Riku version is always used more for Repliku even if it doesn't shows Riku at all. For anyone that ships Repliku and Sora specifically, it is still referred to as soriku. It could also be Repliku and Naminé for example, but the Replinami ship is significantly less seen than the Riku and Naminé one. That's also an entirely different ship but it's treated as one and the same.

While it's more in canon that Repliku cares for Naminé people treat it as they both do when this isn't the case at all.

It's not that Riku doesn't it's just that people think he must because of the same reasons Repliku cares for Naminé

Repliku's entire arc is that he is different, as the novel Sora says this to him,

"Fake or not, that doesn't matter anymore! You're here now, and you have a heart that belongs to you and no one else. Your memories belong to you and you only, so treasure them!"

These words help Repliku feel better about himself and realize he can be his own person. He feels glad to hear these words by Sora. He is glad that he met and knows Sora. He treats him as his own person which he is thankful for. And that's good enough for him.

His own arc is that he is his own person separate from Riku. I also want to point out that the other Replica that is in the real organization in kh3 is someone entirely separate as well.

Repliku after everything decides to keep one of the fake memories because it's not something Riku has. He internally struggles after knowing he's a replica. He is jealous of the other Riku who is "the real thing" and was able to manage his own darkness. He was jealous of him because he is his own person and longs to be his own person and be different too. That's why when Axel manipulates him to absorb and kill Zexion he does without a second thought and is able to use something separate from Riku.

It's why he ends up inedibly fading away. Repliku desperately wants to have something Riku doesn't have. He wants to be a person separate from Riku with his individual own thoughts and feelings. Sora reassured his own were unique. Riku isn't controlling him or making him have those feelings, those are his individual ones.

He wants to be his own person so badly and even though Sora and Riku had reassured his was his own, Repliku still doesn't believe he can. He compares himself too much to Riku. He doesn't see how he can live because he believes he was created to be a copy created from Riku to lure Sora further down that path to be controlled. He doesn't know who he is and everything he ever knew turned out to be a lie.

He clings on to the one memory that was fabricated, but it was also a memory Riku doesn't have. He decides to keep the promise to protect Naminé. It's what makes him himself. It's what becomes important to him.

Still Repliku has trouble believing in himself or that he can make it as someone. He still was created by Vexen. Repliku tells Riku, "I'm me, he says. It must be nice being real. A fake like me could never get away saying that." He believes he can't be someone, but his arc was to show that he is actually separate from Riku. However, for him to believe it himself is hard. Sora's words made him feel better because he believes he is his own person.

Repliku fights Riku so he can feel like a real person and be someone that isn't connected to Riku. However, Riku wins not because Repliku isn't his own person but because Riku has gone through his own growth too.

Repliku ends up fading away and we don't see him until KH3.

In the dark world Riku was swallowed by the heartless and he hears the voice of Repliku. That's when he realizes Repliku has been with him the entire time and he even leaves his keyblade for the other him, most likely referring to Repliku in that scene.

Back when everyone has regrouped before the final battle, Repliku has a conversation with Riku. He and Riku both have someone they cherish. He reveals he cherish Naminé and wants to bring her back before he goes completely.

He continues to keep the masqueraded promise because even though it's not real, he chooses to keep it as something unique and special to him.

During the final battle, Repliku has the opportunity to do the one thing he has been wanting to have and be a person. He could finally be a person separate from Riku. Riku tells him to take the body.

However, Repliku shakes his head and that's when Riku realizes he is wanting it for Naminé. Repliku sacrifices his own ability to have a body so she can instead. He sacrificed the one thing that can make him have a body and become real. She is one of the few things that is special and unique to him and it the reason he does it. Riku then finally promised to be there for when she wakes up to make sure she is okay.

That's a favor he does for Repliku because afterwards he moved on and went to look for Sora. However, this causes misconception that they are the same. Sure, Riku could care for her but it's definitely not the same as how Repliku does.

Repliku is his own person. His arc is finding himself which is separate from Riku. He ends up cherishing people separate from Riku. His own thoughts and feelings are his own. Nobody is controlling him. However people somehow got into the idea that Riku = Repliku when that's not the case at all.

Repliku is his own being and person because he cannot replicate Riku he failed to do that because he is someone separate. He deserves more and he deserves better and I hope KH3 isn't the last we ever see of him...
