urgh not to feed into the whole demonization stuff but postal dude from the POSTAL game franchise is plural coded (and i am allowed to say this having DID.. bc i get so mad when singlets say he has "split/multiple personality disorder" (also bc its the outdated name) but when i see someone who is a system say he is im likd. YES (also most of the time those people who claim MPD on him are doing it to demonize the disorder and add nothing else.. like no nuance or whatever at all or deep discussion) GOING TO RAMBLE SORRY (should also probably content warn. postal is a pretty violent/graphic/dark humor franchise so theres gonna be bringing up of violence and guns, and also some semi disturbing imagery?? mostly it just being eerie, demon visuals, and scopophobia).. oh also religion trauma talk ALSO SPOILERS FOR POSTAL 1997 (?) AND POSTAL BRAIN DAMAGED!!! -------------------------------------------------------------
so, in POSTAL 1 (1997), theres this whole thing where, if you look at postal dude's voicelines from Rick Hunter, iirc (my memory is a bit rusty) theyre labeled with "demon", and his death/pain sounds are voiced by Vince Desi and arent labelled as such. its also heavily implied that postal dude is TERRIFIED and scared, but then his voicelines are him making snide and mocking remarks. it has been implied that he may be "possessed by a demon" but also that he has multiple mental conditions.
now, in POSTAL: Brain Damaged, this becomes extremely obvious. we are now more into the future, and Dude has to fight against other dude inside his own head. Other dude is the "demon" from postal 1997.
(other dude on the left, postal dude on the right.) other dude's speech at the final cutscene, he specifically talks about how they are basically one in the same, while he also cannot be killed or defeated. (and um. after this he gets shot in the head by postal dude, and "dies" but ill get to that.) (i know alter death isnt real, but us, along with other systems weve seen, have said that in headspace , an alter for example may look like they are dead or something happened to them, but that didnt actually kill them and they arent dead. it has been said this is usually a stress thing, or a coping mechanism. we have done stuff like this before.) so i dont believe other dude is dead. ALSO! when postal dude shot him, he brought up not being able to remember things he learned in childhood after that, and his brain was going all dumb,, https://www.kapwing.com/videos/66bab3c776014924d543c4c6 (tumblr wont let me put a video so i hope this link will work!! if it doesnt you can just look up the final cutscene of the game, but like the warnings i put up above they are fighting and he does get shot.) -------------------------------------------------------------- FINAL THOUGHTS my take/headcanon whatever u wanna call it, as a DID system, is that he may have DID or OSDD-1a. but instead of just claiming that and not digging into anything else or finding nuances, here's some other stuff. as a persecutor in our sys myself who also recently fused with postal 1997 being the source, and also our other few postal introjects (a few who are also persecutors), Postal dude and Other dude are system coded. I think Other dude is a mislead persecutor who is fully convinced he is a demon, on top of Postal dude thinking the same about other dude. A big thing that happens with many systems because of trauma, especially religious trauma, is thinking they are possessed (and sometimes even those around the system also calling them possessed,) and because postal dude never got the help they needed, they have some, what i like to call, internalized demonization. the first case we ever see the postal dude is in 1997 (which is also the year the game takes place in and not just the games date), and to my math, postal dude is canonically 53-54 this current year. of course he wouldnt have gotten help, especially how under researched CDDs are still to this day! and i do think they have religious trauma, i mean, the entire thing for postal 1997 is dude thinking he is cleansing the earth for god or something. POSTAL 1997 has "diary entries" (which turn into "war journal" after a bit) and they all have very obvious religious ramblings. so, my conclusion, postal dude has DID or OSDD-1A, heavy internalized demonization, religious trauma, and is system coded. i rest my case. also... just look at this image bro tell me he isnt plural,,
SORRY FOR THIS BEING SO LONG I JUST LOVE TALKING ABOUT THIS and despite this might being seen as demonizing DID, personally i and a few others ive met who like postal and are systems dont see it that way and postal actually makes us feel seen lol
!!! THIS IS BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU FOR THE RANT
a rant is actually Really needed, because i can only do so much research myself on media we're unfamiliar with, so for you all to give your reasoning and explanations is absolutely PERFECT !!
Rating: CASE CLOSED: That Dude is Plural !
#SERIOUSLY thank you so much for this#we read this with my bf and he also enjoyed it despite being a singlet hes learning and its beautiful#so thank you Very Very Much#we love it <3#the video was only 48 seconds not sure if that was your intention at all but the gun was reached for but not actually shot#i could feel the build up tho !!#ALSO this is something ive never even HEARD OF???? and i LOVE IT??#im gonna have to add this to our 'things we need to get into but keep forgetting' list#(we may forget but ill remember the name at least and remember this ask anytime i notice it)#(( i think... i Hope))#didosdd#plural rating#plurality#plural system#actually plural#endos dni#anti endo#did system#osddid#did osdd#actually osdd#osdd system#osdd#actually did#mod 🦉#(ithink)

So I’ve Been Playing... Wolfenstein: The New Order
Shooters are the genre I play the most, one of the first PC games I ever played was DOOM 2 and I have been hooked ever since. Be it trying one of the classics like Blood or something a little more recent like Postal Brain Damaged I will play them all but there is one franchise I always come back to, Wolfenstein.
Wolfenstein 3D captivated me when I was a kid even if I had games like Quake to play I would always gravitate to Wolfenstein, something was amazing about the early 3D to me so was the way the game managed to tell its story with no words just get up, kill some nazis and escape against unspeakable odds. Growing up I was always excited when a new game would come out the 2009 "remake" got me so excited I would watch the trailer almost daily hoping to one day get my hands on it. But those games aren't what we are talking about, I want to talk about the 2014 reboot Wolfenstein: The New Order.
Wolfenstein: The New Order was developed by MachineGames and is a soft reboot of the franchise. Unlike previous instalments focuses entirely on a single-player experience with no multiplayer component. Because of this the story needed to be top notch and man does it deliver.
(spoilers ahead)
The story begins in 1846 with our protagonist captain William "B.J." Blazkowicz flying into Deathshead's compound to put an end to the mad scientist who is creating not only super soldiers and advanced weaponry but also mechanical monsters prolonging the war and leading towards a Nazi victory. BJ is joined but two notable soldiers. Commander Fergus Reid BJ's right-hand man and a very headstrong, capable and overall brilliant tactician and private Probst Wyatt III, who unlike Fergus is overwhelmed by the horrors of the war that he is forced to witness at the young age of 18. After fighting your way up the shore, scaling the walls of the compound and losing countless men in the prosses you gain entry to Deathshead's lab only to be ambushed.
This moment is when I fell in love with this game. You are forced to make a choice, who will die Wyatt or Fergus? This choice breaks me every single time I play this game, the weight of this choice is so hard to put into words. By the time you get to this choice which is only about an hour into the game, you have spent so much time around these two people that you love them both. Do you save the kid who barely had a chance to live his life before war changed it forever or do you save BJ's best friend?
No matter who you save you escape but are wounded leaving a chunk of metal in BJ's brain. Luckily you are found by a polish doctor who along with his wife and daughter Anya care for you for fourteen years until asylum is shut down, everyone inside is executed by the hand of the Nazis and Anya is taken. After fighting your way out, saving Anya and stealing a car you flee to a safe place. Your mission is to find the resistance and to finish what you started 14 years ago, Kill Deathshead and put an end to Nazi reign.
Okay, enough story I don't wait to spoil all of it for you. So how does the game play? Its a modern take on a classic shooter, nearly every room you walk into in MOST missions is full of enemies for you to blast your way through however you see fit maybe, you want to hide behind cover and take them out one at a time, maybe you want to charge forward with a fully automatic shotgun in both hands or (and here is how I played most of the game) you sneak through prioritising which enemies you take out first, who can raise the alarm? who is strongest? if I get seen can I recover? will I survive? However you choose to play you will have an arsenal to back you up everything from the previously mentioned fully automatic shotguns, to assault rifles even a bulky metal monstrosity that can take down most enemies in one hit. You can also unlock different perks by completing challenges which is where I have an issue. The perks are extremely useful in this game letting you hold more ammo or grenades healing on stealth takedowns things along those lines. However unlocking these can be a nightmare. At the start of most missions, you lose all of your weapons leaving you with your laser gun and a knife sometimes a pistol if you are lucky, plus there are no guarantees you will get the gun you need to unlock that perk you so desperately want making the unlocks harder than they need to be.
During the later stages of the game as the locations and battles get more and more insane some of the enemies become way too hard to kill, and yes it makes sense in the context of the game but fighting them becomes less exciting and more of a chore or hell sometimes its straight up unfair. starting a level with next to no ammo and having to fight two heavily armoured shotgun-wielding nazis is a terrible experience that I honestly never want to slog through again. However, the story really is when this game shines the most, every location and character this game shows you is perfect they all show you how war affects different people. Wyatt or Fergus resent the fact they are alive and the war has cost them a life they never got to live, BJ is desperately holding on to a dream of the future with the woman he loves where he can one day be happy. Max learns that he needs to fight after the death of his father. Even Deathshead shows his own goals and has his reasons to keep fighting, there were moments in this game that crushed me making me feel like fighting this war is pointless, like I have no reason to carry on and there were others where I felt I had to fight to save the character I love so much or to crush the oppressive force that took someone from me pushing me forward to end this seemingly endless fight.
Does Wolfenstein: The New Order have its issues? yes, Is it a perfect game? no. There are a few minor things I didn't mention here like constantly taking fall damage or needing to be super precise while cutting paths leading to pointless deaths, but would I recommend you play this game? absolutely. I haven't been this quickly attached to characters in a long time. There are moments this game makes you feel you are fighting a battle you can't possibly win but you need to keep fighting, you need to be the bastion of hope.
Anyway, I gotta go I think I need to rest before a new colossus shows up.

My time….. has come.
First of all, a little explanation of all the games, if you know and played them, or didn't play and don't want spoilers, just skip but I really want to talk about it so, yeah. (Update to that sentence, I will write more interesting stuff in the next reblog, sorry, this took much more time than i thought.)
We'll start with postal 1. It Doesn't have much to do with any other postal game, as you probably know, its dark tones and more serious story separate it from all other games (Except Postal Redux, which is eventually just high quality Postal 1, with some added content). My favorite detail in redux is that the voice that can be heard at the end of the game, as the Dude is now locked in the asylum, is actually Corey Cruise, the voice actor for Dude in Postal 3, Brain Damaged and one of the options in Postal 4.
Postal 2 has a lot, A LOT of stuff. It's my favorite game of them all and just a gem in general. In the game, Postal Dude is sent to do some errands for his wife who he's in a toxic relationship with, as they hate each other a lot. He gets fired on the first day of work by his boss, Vince Dasi, the creator of the game, at RWS, the company responsible for the game. That's why his wife decides to send him to do stuff for her every day. After all that, on Friday, the apocalypse starts, a thing that actually happens in Postal 4 and even Corkscrew Rules as well. (Maybe postal 3 too, i still didn't play it). Then he comes back home and after realizing that he never bought the rocky road, the Bitch, his wife, asked him to buy. He decides that the only logical thing to do is shoot himself. (Fun fact: I was sure that the Bitch was the one to shoot him when i first played the game.) Then Apocalypse Weekend happens, you do a bunch of stuff, you fight Mike J, all that while hallucinating that Gary Colmans attack you, and then you nuke Paradise… yeah.
Now probably the part where I get to explain a lot more, Paradise Lost. It's a DLC Of Postal 2, it came after Postal 3 as the actual sequel to postal 2. Dude is trying to escape from paradise (Just like one of the ost songs) with his dog, Champ, as he suddenly jumps out of the car. Dude gets dizzy because of his head wound, he blacks out and that's when Postal 3 happens. So it's all just a dream. He wakes up from the coma and has a weird voice in his head. Which is, the Dude from postal 3. Dude goes and does the usual, everyday tasks, just like in the main game!! But the story is pretty different. He's dog Champ eats some radioactive shit and becomes "El Perro Loco", which had to be locked to not disturb the lives of the citizens. Basically he mutated into a giant monster. So to have it back you go around in search of a cure for the poor dog, while fighting zombies, different fractions, Zack Ward, your ex wife… And all that? With a voice in your head! There are 2 ending of the game!! One is the canonical one, you get out of Paradise and it blows up (again), or you kill every leader of every fraction to get the "Leader ending", where Postal 3 Dude talks as if in a tale, how Dude became god and is now the ruler of everything.
Can't really tell much about Postal 3, so let's just jump to Postal 4. (I will play Postal 3, I really will)
Postal 4 starts with Dude getting out of the bathroom only to see that his trailer is being stolen. So he's adventure in Edensin begins there. With nothing but a bathrobe and his dog he has to find his trailer, while as always doing stuff. It's basically Postal 2 with better graphics and, well, new missions. Through the whole game, at the end of each day, Dude will have a place to sleep and usually a mysterious man will offer him some type of place to sleep (Usually something really bad, like a literal dumpster). He's the one who gives us, or sells us back our trailer, depending on the ending. Brain Damaged. Well, not much to say, Dudes dreaming, pees all over his couch while at it. Nice game, I love it. It's really different compared to other postal games, that's true, but it has it's own charm.
And as an addition to the main games, I'm going to explain Corkscrew, because here on tumblr there are a bunch of Corkscrew fans (me included). I will also tell about the movie, because, well, it's still postal!
Corkscrew follows… Nope, not Dude, it follows Corkscrew, or as he was called in the original russian Dub, Shtopor. Shtopor is a porn star who lost his dick and his memory (Nice anatomy you got there my guy). He goes around the city of Muhosransk to find his organ while dealing with, you guessed it, a voice in his head! She's…. interesting, she made him shove a plumber up his vagina, so you can imagine. In the end it's revealed that Osama Bil fucking Laden want his dick, and in the end of it all you have to kill him. A mess of a game but my russian heart has a special place for it.
And finally, the movie! It's a really bad movie, the Dude in it is a completely different person. Tired of his life, hates Paradise, kind of awkward and just… some guy. His wife hates him, sleeps with other men all the time, he has no job and everything seems to run downhill. He contacts his uncle who has a cult (Yep, just like in Postal 2) and they try to figure out some way to have money, because Dude has no job, Uncle Dave has a huge debt so what do they do? Steal Krotchy dolls! Then they get talibans as their rivals, and you know, the usual stuff. The movie was made by Uwe Boll so it has a questionable quality. But for a Postal Movie?? Just amazing, it could not be better.
THE END!.... or not? This is taking too long and I will go back to this to actually say the cool facts and interesting shit. This is just, mostly stuff you can learn from the games.
(if this is inaccurate I apologize, I know the postal lore by heart but I'm still not a wikipedia)
if anyone wants to spill all of the postal lore and every single little hidden detail they know i am all ears
(i also want ur personal little opinions and theories)
