Several Sentence Sunday!

I know I have multiple other stories that I should be focusing on right now but this is where the dopamine was SO anyone up for a post s8e11 fix it x s8e14/e15 spec-ish bucktommy disaster fic with a side of mpreg? because I know I am. here's We've Been Missing Each Other And for extra kicks I'm making this a several sentence sunday post too!

TW: Gun violence, hostage situations/being held hostage, nausea/vomiting

Of all the firefighters in Los Angeles, it had to be Evan Buckley that approached Tommy’s helicopter. Tommy wasn’t even supposed to be working today. He wasn’t supposed to be flying at all. But the entire 217 B-shift and half of C-shift was down with some horrific stomach bug and unlike other stations, they couldn’t just borrow personnel from another firehouse. Tommy had been throwing up that morning, but it wasn’t the stomach bug that everyone else had and Tommy hadn’t told his captain that he couldn’t fly yet. They needed a pilot and before Tommy could say something there was a call and he was being sent out solo to stretch the number of available personnel as much as they could.

Over a hundred fire stations in LA, thousands of firefighters in Los Angeles county, and the one Tommy desperately needed to talk to, while simultaneously being terrified to, was the opening the doors of Air Ambulance Two right now. The one and only Evan Buckley.

Tommy had somewhat of an idea of how Evan really felt about him based on their last conversation in Evan’s new kitchen the morning after they hooked up- that was nearly two whole months ago now. Tommy had confessed that he missed Evan and had wanted to reach out- Evan didn’t share the sentiment-, Tommy had still hoped they could have a second chance and lowered the armor he’d kept around his heart and Evan almost immediately went for the kill. All Tommy knew was ‘this doesn’t change anything’ and ‘I don’t have to have feelings for everyone I sleep with’. That made things pretty crystal clear to Tommy. 

Tommy had no idea how Evan would feel about what Tommy needed to talk to him about. He’d wanted to reach out to Evan again after the hook-up but stopped himself each time. Evan had gotten what he wanted from Tommy. Some closure, a chance to deal a dose of the same heartbreak Tommy had dealt him months prior. It wasn’t Tommy’s place to be the one reaching out. Except now he had to.

This wasn’t at all how Tommy pictured seeing Evan again going. Years on the job, six months of dating, four months after the break up, and almost two months after the hook up and for the first time ever, Tommy was just now running into Evan on a call. Lucky him.

Tommy opted to go for professional with Evan right now. “Firefighter Buckley.” He nodded curtly, ignoring the churning in his stomach that signaled he’d probably be throwing up again soon. He hoped against all hope he could hold off and avoid needing to vomit while in the air.

Evan swallowed hard from the looks of it. “Pilot Kinard.” He used the same level of professionalism, same tone, same gesture in the form of a polite nod. “Hen and Chim are just prepping the patient for transport now.”

“Got it. Presbyterian already knows we’re just a few minutes out.” Tommy told Evan.

“Good.” Evan said.

Tommy looked out the windshield at the scene. Multi-car pile up. Unclear what caused it. Big scene, a lot of carnage.

“Get in the chopper.” An unfamiliar voice ordered.

Tommy wiped his head back to see what was going on and saw a man holding an automatic rifle to Evan’s head, forcing him in the chopper.

Evan looked at Tommy, wide eyed as he got in.

Tommy quickly looked back at his controls and hit a button to send an automatic distress call that went to the harbor-only radio channel and dispatch.

“Close it up!” The man ordered Evan, then turned the gun on Tommy. “Get us in the air, now. Either one of you tries the radio and I’ll shoot this guy.” He gestured to Evan.

Evan did as told and closed the door to the chopper.

Tommy lifted them off the ground without a word. If the circumstances were different, and if Evan wasn’t in the chopper, Tommy probably would’ve been far less obedient. But Evan was there, and there were other circumstances at play so Tommy did as he was told to. Tommy managed to keep his hands steady, and despite feeling panic, he did his best to appear calm. “What do you want from us?”

“You’re my ticket out of here.” The man explained. Over his headset Tommy heard a call over the radio. “Air Ambulance Two, where you going?” It was Howie. He seemed to be in disbelief. So was Tommy.

He knows Eddie worries about him. Everyone does, but with Eddie, it’s not the same. He doesn’t look at Buck like he still has one foot in the grave. "Okay don't get mad," Eddie hears through the phone and for some reason it makes him smile.

"What am I getting mad about? Did you beat my pinball high score?" he teased, hearing Buck's light chuckle as he took a moment to hesitate.

"I slept with Tommy last night."

Eddie doesn't expect it to hit him in the chest as hard as it does. He's not even sure why.

"You... wait, you called him?" was all he could say as the idea of it sank in deeper.

"Uh, actually no," he said. "I was actually out drinking with Ravi and we just... ran into each other."

"Right," Eddie said, because what else could he say?

Buck continued with his story anyway. It was friendly between them, and they got to talking, he was a little tipsy and people don't lie about the whole liquid courage thing.. One thing led to another and—

"I don't know, I don't think either of us meant for it to happen but... then I asked him if he wanted to see my new place, I said I missed him, he said he missed me too and it was just... familiar I guess."

Familiar, okay well, that's not a way you would describe mind-blowing sex. Still, it did nothing to remove the swirling sensation from Eddie's gut.

"I mean I think we both just got a little emotional talking to one another and, well... I'm only human, and he looks good."

Of course he did, Eddie thought, teeth clamping down on his bottom lip. He's a good looking guy, why wouldn't he look good?

"Like I know I should probably go out and meet other people, but there's just something different about it when you know the person, you know what I mean?"

All too well, Eddie thought.

"And you know, when they know you," he had a suggestive lilt in his voice that made Eddie grit his teeth.

He meant in bed, obviously, but Eddie couldn't help thinking that there was so much Tommy didn't know about Buck, didn't understand about him. Things that no one but he really knew.

"You're judging me aren't you?" Buck asked, and it finally clicked to Eddie that he hadn't said anything in far too long.

"No, I'm not judging you," he said.

"Okay, so why are you so quiet? Come on, you can say whatever you've got to say," Buck said.

Only he couldn't, not really. Whatever he had to say was tangled up in his tongue and evaporated when he opened his mouth. What could he say? It was Buck's life, not his, not theirs, and he was the one who put nearly a thousand miles between them.

"Look it... well I don't get a say in who you..." God, where was he going with this? "Your love life— sex life... that's not really my business."

There was a pause in the line between them, a strange lull that held more weight than silence should have. He wondered what Buck was thinking, wishes he would just say it instead of carefully crafting his words, which Eddie knew he was doing.

"I know," he said finally, softer than before. "I just... I trust your judgement is all."

Eddie could have taken it deeper, opened up the conversation to a place they'd never really been before. Instead he hummed out a laugh and broke the build up of tension that hung between them in the static.

"My judgement on dating?" he said, hearing Buck snort back in reply.

"Yeah okay, maybe that's a bad call," he said.

"Terrible."

"Don't know what I was thinking."

"Look Buck, you... I just want you to do what makes you happy," Eddie said, feeling a burning sensation rising up his sinuses. "If Tommy makes you feel happy, then I... that's great."

He let out a soft 'hmm' sound, halfway to a laugh but not quite.

"And if what makes me happy is completely unattainable?" he said. "Then what?"

Eddie closed his eyes with a sigh, because he knew exactly what that felt like, and he had yet to come up with an answer to that question.

"Just... keep going."

It was what he did, it was all he could do. He could taste other wants, things that were out of reach. Things he only let himself think about in the dark, when he could pretend they were dreams instead of desires.

"Well," Buck said after a pause, tearing him from his thoughts. "I guess I don't have a choice on that one."

He hated the idea of Buck being lonely. He knew that he felt that way sometimes, and got in his head about it. He hated even more that moving away left him with just that little bit more loneliness than before.

He just wanted Buck to find the kind of happiness that filled him, that pushed the loneliness out until it couldn't find him anymore.

And if he could find it with Tommy then... wait, hold on just a damn second did—

"Hang on, did you bring him back to my house?" he asked without really meaning to.

He felt guilty immediately, he needed to stop saying that it was his house. Because it wasn't really, not anymore. Buck needed to feel like it was his home, not like he was just holding space for Eddie to come back.

"Uh," Buck said, and Eddie could imagine his face as he ran a hand over the hair at the back of his neck and chuckled back. "Maybe?"

"Sorry that— I didn't mean it like that," Eddie shook his head.

"No, I know."

"He didn't think that was weird then?" he asked, Tommy had been to his place a few times over after all.

There was a beat of silence that lingered a little too long before Buck replied.

"Uh, no, no he didn't really have an opinion on that."

"Well you probably weren't doing a whole lot of talking, were you?" Eddie said to lighten the weird mood that had descended over the conversation, even if the words tasted like ash in his mouth.

"You know me, I'm hard to shut up."

That didn't make Eddie feel any better.

"But um, I think it was probably just a one-time thing," he said.

"Why's that?"

"Well, last night was great, but this morning... let's just say we both said some things we probably shouldn't have. If I were him, I wouldn't be calling me."

"That bad, huh?"

He hated the inflection in his voice at that. Even through the phone he was sure even Buck could hear it, so he cleared his throat and hoped that disguised it well enough.

"Look Buck, if he doesn't call, he's the one who's going to lose out," he said softly, feeling more words creeping up the back of his throat and swallowing them back down.

"You think so?"

Now he was just fishing, but Eddie didn't mind. Just hearing the little curve in the corner of his mouth creep into his voice made Eddie's heartbeat steady out. Buck's voice always seemed to have that effect on him, making him feel like everything would be okay, even when everything around him felt like chaos.

"I know it, Buck," he said, his own voice getting a rasp to it as he tried to push down everything else he could say. "I would know right?"

Buck let out a breathy chuckle through the line, Eddie could picture the look on his face perfectly. If he closed his eyes, he could see it.

"Anyway I've got to go, but uh, Eds?" Eddie hummed in response as Buck paused. "Thanks."

"Anytime," he said.

"Okay, I'll call you later. I want to talk to Chris too, see how that chess thing went."

"It's a tournament Buck."

"That makes it sound like some kind of medieval thing, like they're going to be on horseback with those long jousting poles or some—"

"I thought you had to go," Eddie smiled to himself.

"Oh, I do," he said. "Talk to you tonight."

"Alright," Eddie said right as the line cut out, three little words sitting heavy on his tongue.

He clenched his teeth as he thought about how easy it would be to let them slip out. He hadn't even known they'd been sitting there, but somehow it just felt like it would have been the natural way to end their phone call.

He sucked his lip between his teeth and swallowed them back down, shaking his head as he locked his phone and shoved it into his pocket along with everything else swirling around in his head.

there's a lot that I'm excited to read about but weirdly one of the ones I'm the MOST excited to read is the LARP episode in season 8 (S8E11 I think). I can't explain it but Dean in that outfit makes my knees wobble. he looks extra fine in that episode.

LMFAO soooooo i actually am not planning to write all the way to season 8, i have always planned on stopping for the end of season 5. BUT I WILL ABSOLUTELY DO A REWRITE OF REQUESTED EPISODES!!! so i will add s8e11 and a demon dean rewrite series to my list!! do not fret. thank you for the request, my lovebug!!

i have a confession, actually. i just finished rewriting season 3's first draft yesterday! when i started posting, i'd already finished rewriting season 1, and just had everything in my queue waiting to publish. however, i've revised every episode a thousand times because i want it to be absolutely perfect for you all! so to answer your question, i've already rewritten some of my favroties!

here's a few i've already written and am in the process of editing: the christmas episode in season 3, the episode where meg possesses sam in season 2, ghostfacers in season 3, and tall tales in season 2.

i'm suuuuper excited about the first few episodes of season 4, and the spn convention episode in season 5 is my favorite episode of all time.

We have a new tradition, which is that after last season's Krazy Kripples, we'll have a new Jimmy episode every year! And this is the first time we meet Nathan and the rest of the special education kids. S8E3 The Passion of the Jew is FILLER

I wanted to tell you this one was canon, because the season has constant mentions of Passion of the Christ so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter. S8E4 AWESOM-O is FILLER

Sooo if every anime filler was as good as these ones, the filler guides most likely wouldn't exist (or they would, because humans), but again, what we have is a self-contained story. S8E5 You Got F'd in the A is FILLER

At one point I might have convinced myself that what I'm doing with this recap makes some kind of sense, but alas, it doesn't. This became an episodic show and we miss out on all the best episodes. Why am I lamenting at You Got F'd instead of Good Times with Weapons? Because I'm a loose cannon with no regard for the law. That may be true, but I get the job done, God damn it. Trent Boyett never returned. But if you think about it, he is one of the boys' greatest foes. I wish one of the specials was a follow-up of the 15 year old versions of the characters meeting Trent again. If everything else fails, THAT would bring me back and change my classifications! Beth/Eugene Entanglement Part 5 — Miscellaneous

Okay, so I should have posted this like a month ago. I found it buried in my drafts. For now, it’s kind of be a catch-all for things @wdway has found but I haven’t posted yet. I doubt this will be the last Eugene/Beth post, but it’s the last of what I have right now. Prior to S11. Just know that this isn’t one cohesive theory, but rather random bits and pieces. Maybe it will spark something for someone who reads it. Here we go.

Symbol Shift from FG to Eugene:

Father Gabriel has been a Sirius radio communication symbol, which is a symbol of two of our three monkeys, hearing and speaking (hear no evil, speak no evil) and has been since s8e11 Dead or Alive Or. This thought occurred to me after seeing so much of Eugene on the radio, especially with Stephanie. It's basically been his theme for this season. At some point, I realized that the more we have seen Eugene in this situation, the less we have seen FG with the radio.

Let's take a look at the first time we see the symbols around FG from Dead or Alive Or. His infected, bloodshot eyes, the radio (hearing, speaking). There’s a phoenix in this scene as well. 

In s9e, Who Are You Now? We see that they must have gone back to the Radio Shack and brought the equipment to AZ. The room is filled with symbols the radio, the pink clay pig that has held keys to a vehicle is mysteriously back together on the table, so they have moved the symbols to AZ and FG is the prime radio operator. This episode also is where we really see Eugene start to become a Beth symbol with a braided hair and his mission to help Rosita put up the radio antenna on the white water tower, which results in him getting a leg injury so very reminiscent of Beth in Alone.

This season in e1, Lines We Cross, is the beginning of the major shift of connecting the radio to Eugene rather than FG. There are two short scenes of FG transmitting on the radio and that's the last time we actually see him. We hear him occasionally, but we no longer see him with the radio.

This is the episode that made me realize the shift because after we see the satellite falling, Eugene runs to radio Oceanside. We have the shift.

We have a great shot of Eugene and the Phoenix. The camera circles around and there is a prominent shot of the bright light along with the radio and Eugene. (Bright light focusing on someone is the equivalent to tree and trunks for @frangipanilove​) The light is a huge symbol of Beth to me because of all the focus lights that were around her at Grady.

The rest of the season mostly when we see Eugene, he is at his radio station at Hilltop, speaking primarily to Stephanie. He is the new radio communicator. He represents hearing and speaking symbols which leaves FG as our Sirius seeing symbol.

Pearl/Pearl Harbor stuff

*Quick note: the three of us have discussed Pearl Harbor as a military symbol and also a water/aquatic symbol in deep detail long before this post. But I couldn’t find our previous discussions without scrolling back through months and months of messages. So if it sounds like we’re referring to earlier conversations, we are. ;D*

Eugene in the attic at Hilltop, working on the radio equipment. He's talking to Rosita when there is a spark and he says "Mother of Pearl." We talked about this just the other day when we were discussing pearls in song lyrics and I noted that Pearl Harbor is one of the most famous military bases in the world, which could make this a military reference. And of course, @Frangi, you have a ton of things from you've searched about pearls. Bottom line: this is a water reference.

Biblical References:

Yesterday, I had an epiphany that is also a biblical reference. At least the word pearl. And I cannot believe that we haven't thought about this before. This is from the King James version.

Matthew 7:6, “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your peals before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”

Some very key words here. It mentions dogs, pearls, swine, which is another word for pigs, trample them under their feet. The word “them” has been used to refer to walkers many times, under their feet, pigs feet.

Another take on it I want to share with you is when Eugene says, "Mother of pearl," he is upset because the radio sparked, it felt somewhat like a curse which made me think of his mentor Abraham always using the term "Son of a Dick." So that gives a female reference, the other a male reference.

Later in the episode, Eugene is trying to contact Rosita, and she doesn't answer because she's sick and at the clinic, so he puts out a general call. Anyone out there? Greetings, this is Tater bug calling live over open channels. Anyone out there? Give us a copy.

I think most people like myself feel that it was a call back to Aaron in the episode Them. I feel strongly that's how it's intended to be interpreted, especially with what happened in the dialogue that is used towards the end of the conversation, which I'll get to later.

Here is what Aaron said when first approaching Maggie and Sasha. "Hey, I didn't mean to interrupt. Good morning. My name is Aaron. Oh, I know, stranger danger, but I am a friend. I would like to talk to the person in charge. Rick, right? I have good news."

Now for the bible, again from King James, Luke 2:10, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” I won't spend any more time on the parallels between the two I think they're pretty obvious.

Eugene later, "This is Tater bug over open-air, surfing on proverbial radio waves. Any interested ear holes? Come back." He changes channels. "Anyone, anywhere, this is Tater bug." This time he gets a reply from Stephanie. "Hello Tater bug, I'm receiving you loud and clear, are you really out there?"

Very interesting and, for us, at least, obvious. Ear holes is a reference to ears, calling out for anyone, anywhere. He uses a bible reference by using the word, proverbial. Words like radio waves, radio = Sirius, waves = water. Waves could also mean to make waves, upsetting the establishment and then we have Stephanie coming back with her response of surprise and the question, are you really out there? A shock at finding someone out there.

@twdmusicboxmystery: Just breaking in to also point out that the song at the end of Still, Up the Wolves, talked about air waves as well. Just saying. ;D

Suspicious Dialogue:

@wdway: I'm going to go through a bit more of the strange dialogue. I don't think this is any huge sign pointing to Eugene's storyline as much as they're using him to throw out phrases and words, sometimes that have multiple meanings or give pause to what they might want to point at. A reminder that this dialogue is from the episode Bond. I will not rehash the entire saying, just pick out something phrases.

Eugene talking on the radio to Stephanie, talking about growing up and visiting Pennsylvania. "Locomotives were my jam." Here, the word jam has multiple meanings. The first and what I believe is intended here is that trains, locomotives were his special, happy hobby, something he loved that he could really get into.

The word jam can also refer to being in trouble, a situation that you want to get out of. It is exactly how episode 16 ended with Eugene and company in a jam.

@twdmusicboxmystery: Also, in Alone, Daryl ate *jam*! ;D

@wdway: This next one for some reason just nagged at me and I kept going back to the sentence until it hit me why it seems odd. "My parents purchased a pair of tickets to the 1995 train Fair Expo."

Well, the thing that kept nagging at me is that unless definitions have changed, the word pair refers to 2 and if his parents (both since there is an "s" on the end) purchased a pair of tickets then they're one ticket short. It's a little thing, but I felt like what they were going for was the word pair or two. Which sent me down the rabbit hole.

In the series, there are lots of 2's. Some are more obvious than others. There are several pairs of couples in the series, for example: Rick and Michonne, Maggie and Glenn, Sasha and Abraham. These are the easy ones, but we see tons of instances of the numbers 2 and 22.

Moving on to the next weird dialogue phrase. Eugene talks about the black raspberry ice cream I discussed that last week. It's the name of the ice cream parlor that I want to talk about it's called The Inside Scoop. That’s a reference to a large spoon/ladle. The Big Dipper, with the North Star at its end.

It occurred to me that that's a really odd name for an ice cream parlor. Then I realized the writers might be having a little fun here. The inside scoop can refer to newspaper or some form of media getting the jump on a story, getting the inside goods. I thought of all the times that the spoiler site had the inside scoop on what was going on in a TWD episode. When this episode was written, they were still up and running. I also like to think it could be a nod to TD.

Now we come to the second Aaron dialogue reminder. Eugene wants to continue his and Stephanie's radio conversation. She says, "you could be a threat." Eugene volunteers to share information. Stephanie replies that she could be the threat to him. After thinking this over, Eugene says, "I have a twinge in my belly that says that you lean toward the good column of the alignment. I do know you." He then gives her his real name and asked if they can continue to talk.

Forget, s5e13. Aaron to Daryl: "The main reason why I want you to help me recruit is because you do know the difference between a good person and a bad person." Eugene wants to believe that Stephanie is a good person because of their conversations. And since he survived by reading the people around him, he probably is a decent judge of people.

I was pretty much done with this. Then I thought I should check out Morningstar. I had felt that I had pretty well covered that in previous messages, but lo-and-behold, I found a couple things that I feel are worth mentioning.

Near the beginning of the episode, when Eugene and Stephanie realize they are not that far apart, and talk of a possibility of meeting, Eugene said, "I can't help but believe that this is a celestially ordained meet and greet."

My first thought was Aaron and his meet and greet with Maggie and Sasha. And then I thought "celestially ordained," is very biblical sounding. It points to Beth being a Christ figure and we're waiting for her Resurrection.

This next one I really loved. Later on, right after Eugene stops singing, Stephanie finishes the song. Eugene tells her she "has great chops, singing chops that is." A singing reference. Stephanie says to Eugene, "I'm sorry for disappearing."

Oh, my Bethyl heart! My mind went straight to Alone when Beth called out the last words she ever spoke to Daryl, "I won't leave you!" Then she disappeared. She was just gone. I have this head canon that this is absolutely something Beth will someday say to Daryl.

It also seemed odd for Stephanie to use the word "disappearing," which to me is a physical act of leaving, taking your person, your body away. Stephanie stopped talking to Eugene. She went silent. She obviously did not disappear because she heard him singing. She was still present.

The last dialogue is from A Certain Doom. After the bike accident, the group is trying to get Eugene to continue. He is sad and frustrated that they have lost too much time and it will be pointless. Eugene says, "unless it involves slowing the passage of time." How could we not possibly think of....

Here's one that occurred to me not too long after I had talked about Daryl's I Never game. His statement of "I never got anything from Santa Claus." The one that always breaks all our hearts and the hope that getting Beth back will be the ultimate Christmas gift. In reviewing the episodes with Eugene, and especially spending quite a bit of time on the episode Morning Star, the light bulb came on and I finally saw the obvious.

Santa Claus is a figure with a pure heart that gives gifts to children. Daryl is no longer a child, at least not a physical child, although at times he can pretty much be a big kid, haha. So, it's only fitting that his Santa Claus gift actually comes from a child with a brave but innocent heart. (Judith)

I think this truly fits. It's not a new piece of clothing, but it's a renewed one. It has been resurrected. His angel wings repaired with Christmas Stars on blue. I love this idea and hope you guys do too.

S13E16 Scoobynatural - IT COUNTS I THINK. Semi-related, S8E8 Hunteri Heroici involves a guy who make cartoons come to life with his mind. It’s a very fun and very pretty episode and Cas and Dean r gay, well worth watching <3

S4E17 It’s A Terrible Life - Zachariah traps Sam and Dean in alternate reality where Dean is a (heavily implied out queer) businessman of some sort and wears fruity suits. Sam is there I guess. One of its finest Gay Homophobia episodes and genuinely very fun to watch.

S11E14 The Vessel - Dean wears a fruity little sailor outfit and Casifer (Lucifer who is possessing Castiel and the Winchesters don’t know yet - it’s a whole story arc) fists Sam’s soul just for funsies. The ONLY reason Casifer couldn’t get on that boat is because if Cas saw Dean’s fruity sailor outfit for more than a minute he would have lost his MIND and Lucifer woulda had to leave his vessel sharpish.

S8E11 LARP and the Real Girl - I think the title speaks for itself really, I think this counts! Charlie Bradbury (Felicia Day’s character) is in it and she’s cool and gay and Dean wears chainmail <3

S7E12 Time After Time I can’t remember that much about this ep but Dean does wear a very good 40s suit including a shoulder holster <3

I really want to tell you to watch the Belphegor episodes (S15E1-S15E3) but none of it would actually make sense I’m just obsessed with them bringing a messy gay bitch demon into Jack’s body literally top 10 Supernatural Gay Homophobia Moments in my onion.

S8E12 As Time Goes By - Sam and Dean’s grandfather jumps forward in time to find them, and introduces them to the history of the Men Of Letters, whose house they will steal in the next episode

S4E3 In The Beginning - This and the next episode are only ranked so low because I don’t care about Mary and John drama. HOWEVER. Zachariah sends Dean back in time to meet his mum before she married John and Zachariah very possibly fucked her. There are a LOT of memes about this now.

S5E13 The Song Remains The Same - Anna tries to stop Sam from being born. This entire concept is VERY funny to me. As is Sam and Dean showing up on the doorstep of their mum and dad, who do not have children yet, telling them their real names and saying ‘it’s a family name’ when John points out that Mary has relatives with the same name. Comedic genius I don’t care about the rest of the episode but from what I remember it’s pretty good.

S14E13 Lebanon - this episode is bad because it tries to redemption arc John BUT. it gave us  [spoilers] 1) lesbian steve jobs ted talk sam 2) Dean trying to placate alt-Cas who never got to know him by doing the ‘Cas....’ and gentle touch thing and alt-Cas just going ham and obliterating his ass 3) Dean choosing to go back to their world (with Cas <3) over staying in this universe with his Dad because he’s not worth it <3

There are several flashback eps to Dean and Sam’s childhoods, but as you can imagine these are all pretty sad and not the kind of thing you wanna watch For Funsies. The wiki has a list of those here.

The longest alt-universe arc is the Apocalypse World - a world where the Angels and Demons successfully orchestrated their plan to cause the apocalypse and are steadily wiping out the last of the human population. This isn’t overall a “fun” arc, but is v interesting and pique your attention if you like time travel and AU content. The wiki lists all the episodes here.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme originally from Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things I have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on my blog.

So this past two weeks have been crazy with work, work and more work. Worked 9 days, no big deal there. But because of the weather 3 days were cancelled. So it would have been 12 days. From which I did work a night on the King’s Night festival and the next day at noon I was fresh again in the ice cream salon =] I was so happy that these last two days were a lot better weather-wise. On most days I wore a tank top, long sleeve shirt, my work polo, a soft shell jacket and a work jumper. And guess what, I was still shaking from the cold.. I so hope that the weather is going to get better in the coming time. I’m done with the cold and the coughing that comes with it.

I will do my perm on my model from a week and a half ago again next Wednesday. It didn’t take, sadly. But we’re going to try it again with stronger perm liquid =] Let’s make this work!!

But for all things, a new month is starting, so let’s rock it!!

So I finished reading The Gender War by Bella Forrest. I’m really excited to read The Gender Fall, but have some other books I MUST read first hahahahaha. After that I read the second book in The Chronicles of Koa by K.N. Lee, it’s called Dark Prophet. I can’t wait for Lyrinian Blade to be published really soon =] I also read XODUS by K.J. McPike, it’s the first book in the Astralis series. It’s a really cool story!! Last book I finished in the last two weeks is Extinct, the third book in the AM13 Outbreak series by Samie Sands. Again, can’t wait for the next book, in this case to be published. Fun and awesome fact: I’m gonna be a character in the series!! That’s so superdupercool =D

So I’m currently reading Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh [I GOT IT EARLY THROUGH NETGALLEY WOOHOO] and re-reading the Red Queen series =], currently reading Queen Song, but will probably finish this tonight haha.. and continue on with Steel Scars and Red Queen. Want to know why I’m re-reading it? Go check my Haul ;]

I FINALLY GOT IT WOOHOO. I GOT KING’S CAGE BY VICTORIA AVEYARD. THE BEAUTIFUL HARDCOVER IS SO PRETTY NEXT TO MY SIGNED EDITION OF GLASS SWORD. I was really bummed I couldn’t buy it in February, I so wanted to get a first edition. But I was lucky and I did receive a first edition!!!!!!!! Now all I have to do is find myself a first edition hardcover of Red Queen from Harper Teen. I really want to get the whole series in first edition =] =]

And to top everything off, I will receive two more books next week =] yay me!! My first haul since the release day of Carve the Mark – okay, besides the Divergent Exclusive Booklet I got with the pre-order terms from the publisher ;]

Chess Theory 2.0

This theory comes from a discussion me and my fellow theorists had after this ask was posted:

I really love the idea of the black and white representing the battle between the CRM and the Commonwealth. We can’t know for sure if it does, but given everything leading up to this point in the story, it definitely could. My fellow theorists and I had extensive discussions about this, with @wdway especially contributing a lot of thoughts and research.

@wdway:

Starting with the ask, I love it so much and believe they could be quite right that the black could represent the CRM and the white the Commonwealth, and they could be at odds with one another and our group. TF will be caught in the middle.

Since I feel strongly that Beth could be tied to Eugene's group’s storyline, that would make her white. Rick we know is with the CRM, which makes him black. If both Beth and Rick are fighting independently within these two groups and that would make them neither black nor white but gray. This is the part that I've said for quite a while: that gray represents a middle ground, it's neither black nor white.

Beth and Rick in Coda. I chose this shot because they almost look like one unit. Both in gray from behind so that Beth's yellow shirt is not a distraction to the gray that ties these two characters together.

I also love the fact that the red machete could easily belong to either one in this shot. And with a thought that colors have different meanings for different scenes, I believe in this particular case, the gray represents that the scene is not as black-and-white, as clear cut as it seems, that there are things going on here that the viewers are not aware of. It has shades of grey for these two characters. 

Also, it could tell us why Daryl wore one white leg tie and one black leg tie. They represent the two people that he loves and will lose, believing they are both dead. He will search for them both and not be able to find either one.

Twdmusicboxmystery: Breaking into @wdway’s thoughts here just to have a wowza moment. Can you see how they’ve set this up from the start? Can you see how it lines up? Okay, back to @wdway:

I simply could not go back to the hall scene in Coda without watching Daryl carry Beth out. This time I noticed something that I had never noticed before. @Frangipanilove, this one is especially up your alley. Look at the walkway right behind Daryl. On the left side, there is two parallel lines =. On the other right side is a directional symbol <. How have we not noticed this before?

I then wanted to look at the Commonwealth soldiers, so I went to the episode 16, when Eugene's group is surrounded and again I noticed something that I didn't before. 

PM 110 and RX 04. I'll start with RX, we have always attached the "X" to Beth, it can also stand for the number 10, and it has multiple meanings. When paired with an R (which could possibly stand for Rick) RX is a medical or drug symbol used for a Latin word, "recipe" meaning "to take." Yes I Googled it. I'm not sure about the PM but 101 is the series number for s8e11, Dead or Alive Or.

@twdmusicboxmystery: Breaking in again to point out that Dead or Alive Or was one of the episode titles mentioned during the Cast Trivia Battle I posted about a few days ago. Just saying.

It's the episode that is so very full of Beth symbols that it's not even funny. There also Tara and Dwight's conflict and Daryl trying to take the children/people of AZ to Hilltop. 

I do want to note in the photograph above if you look at the desk you see droplets of black paint against the white top. Like I said, every symbol that we can imagine for Beth is pretty much in that episode.

Love this! It actually does get my mind spinning. I had to google the meaning of PM and the literal meaning is the Latin “post meridiem”, which of course translates to “after noon”. We have all these Dawn references and midnight references and clocks etc on TWD, so an “after noon” reference doesn’t seem entirely out of place. I’ve been obsessed with ep 8x11 for a multitude of reasons. A bunch of Sirius references, the green Jaguar car, the Sirius piggy bank, FGs blindness, animal traps.

Mostly I’m obsessed about it because the original Noah’s t-shirt theory pointed to 8x2, when we saw the blue heron painting, but I later realized that the “2” could also point to 8x11. The radio shack is a huge Sirius symbol in and of itself, and it even ties into ep 10x11 “morning star” (Venus/Sirius reference). I’ve never noticed the = symbol and the < symbol behind Daryl. It’s incredible that we can still discover new things in episodes we’ve watched a thousand and one times already.

One thing I keep circling back to is the Governor because the white, king chess piece was so obviously a symbol for him. And I do think they used that specifically for his arc, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a foreshadow of another, bigger, future arc. And there was SO much Beth symbolism around him, especially in 4x06. And his chess piece was white, not black.

I've already gone back and started searching some things and have some ideas that will connect Beth with white and Rick with black symbolically that I'm excited about. I've already solved the problem of the white chess piece connected to the governor and I think you will love my findings.

I was thinking about the gray and Beth’s sweater and Rick's shirt in Coda, when suddenly I remembered that it was not Beth's first sweater. Her first sweater we saw in Still and it was white.

Now, this sweater has been talked about a lot through the years. White typically stands for purity, both in body and in mind and I think you can we can use both for Beth in this example. 

When Beth stands next to the Rich Bitch walker, I think it's a matter of purity of the heart. The Rich Bitch, although outwardly she's in white. she was not a person with a pure heart. What color a person wears on the outside doesn't necessarily reflect in color of their soul. Not all white is good not all black is bad.

Shortly after Beth put on the white sweater, she is covered in blood and she removes it. You would still call it a white sweater, but it has stains that cannot be removed. Her soul will always be white, but she will have strains that cannot be removed. The next time we see her in a sweater it will be a light gray, more white than black. It represents coming to grips in the world that she is in now and will be in the future.

The challenge is, if Beth represents white, what does that mean about the Governor’s white chess piece? We know the Gov was not pure of heart, so how could he be white?

When the Governor originally found the chess board and was teaching Megan the game, he is black. It was Megan that draws that eye patch on the white king because outwardly he seemed to be pure of heart, but he was not. It was an illusion. He was a black king chess piece. So, what about the fact that Rick is black, does that make him a villain? Does he have an evil heart? I believe that Rick has always struggled with his dark demons. It's in the fact that he desires to be noble and good, even though he can do bad things, his desire is pure, to have a white heart.

The next couple of shots was just confirmation that Beth will appear as white and Rick as black. Her shoes from Slabtown. 

One shoelace is white, the other is black. When I went back to look at the shoelaces, for the first time I realized that her shoes are gray. Love that.

This, I'm sure you will recognize as being from Coda, just before the exchange of prisoners. 

I'm always harping about the fact that diamond shape represents Beth, a square represents Rick. You can turn the square on its side, and it becomes a diamond. If you go back and look at the chessboard, it's a huge indication that I'm correct. If you look at the board from one angle it is blocks of squares if you look at it slightly from the side, it's diamonds.

So here, Beth is in the hallway and she will end up standing in the middle of the white diamond on top of the black square. Beth and Rick could have similar but different stories. They’re both in rebel groups, fighting for the same type of cause but in different locations. I think if that's the case, especially with Beth, we could see her appearing to be on the inside, a villain type, but in reality, more of a double agent.

They showed us in Slabtown how she could manipulate and play the game that she had to in order to survive and get what she needed.

This picture is from Dead Weight, from the cabin that the Gov searched. There are a lot of Native American symbols in that cabin and this one stood to me. It is a dreamcatcher.

This next picture is of the room in WHWGO, I'll remind you that on the corner post of the bed is a small dreamcatcher.

I think this links the two episodes together. It's hard to imagine that they would put so much symbolism and foreshadowing all in one episode, so they spread it out over several episodes and seasons. In this bottom shot, we have a black helmet sitting on top of some type of communication equipment, a telescope for gazing at the stars, a poster about science fiction with a rocket on it, a small toy helicopter on the side table. And of course we have the Dreamcatcher which imo is pointing to the next stage of clues. The other things that tie this episode and the Gov's episodes together.

 Hard to get any bigger tie than the Governor himself, surrounded with military and water symbols.

Maybe there is another symbol that could tie this to the past and future storylines. 

A shot of the Gov and Beth together in this room. Even though he is not in this shot, Rick later, at the end of episode, comes into this room. Rick, Beth, and the Gov at some point are surrounded in this room with a helicopter, rockets, airplanes, and a ton of water symbols.

What did I hear you ask? But there are no chess objects? That might be true in a material way, but I believe the conversation between Ty and the Gov was definitely a chess play, a game of strategy, moving back and forth, a power-play of sorts.

Love all this! When I was putting together my Divine Comedy Theory, I was thinking about AOW (because that’s when we saw the “Abandon all hope…” sign) and that maybe AOW was a type of the CW vs CRM war. Most of the major conflicts probably have been. The fall of the prison. AOW. Certainly TF vs the Whisperers. Maybe even Terminus. This idea is just making me re-think everything. I’m sure if we went back and rewatched, we’d see more clues than ever.

There was one thing that I meant to mention from Live Bait. In the nursing home, we see the woman in the yellow wheelchair. She is wearing a white gown with black trim. She had marks on her feet to make her a Christ symbol figure and we've always connected her with Beth because of the yellow chair.

Now I'm thinking she could represent white/Commonwealth and black/CRM. Because now we not only have Beth as a Christ figure symbol, but we have Rick also. Something that we did not have before the last couple of seasons. It seems easier to connect Beth to the color white. We have been doing that for years and thinking she could be at the Commonwealth and could be a part of Eugene's storyline fits with what could be coming.

Rick is harder when looking to past seasons and connecting him to the color black, but we know for certain that he was taken by the helicopter people and been told by tptb that he is with the CRM. From all that we've seen, their military color is black.

Just want to point out that in 8x12, The Key, there’s definitely a black theme going on. Rick crashes a black car, 

everything in the basement he and Negan go into is black, Negan is wearing a black coat, 

(I don’t think Rick’s shirt is black, but it’s dark enough to look black here:)

and even the sign, “Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Here” is written in black. 

We’ve always knew this was foreshadow of Rick’s disappearance in the helicopter group and it does suggest a black theme.

The other thing I noticed is that in the pic of Beth’s shoelaces, it’s specifically the WHITE lace/shoe was spattered with blood, just like her white sweater in Still. 

So, those two symbols are probably synonymous. I don’t have much to add for how to interpret that beyond what we’ve already said, but it’s interesting. But I guess this is the other thing I was thinking about the Gov’s S4 episodes. And there’s no way to know this for sure. But because we saw Native American stuff in the cabin he stayed in, and also around the Wolves, and both of those are heavily paralleled to Beth, I guess I’m wondering if the Native American stuff will somehow be fulfilled in this CW/CRM war stuff.

I love that you mentioned the blood spatter on Beth's white sweater and the shoe with the white laces. I made note of it and meant to mention it and forgot. Another thing that came to my mind in looking at the Native American stuff in the cabin is it reminded me of Ezekiel in past seasons wearing feathers in his hair. He is now with Eugene and company being held by the Commonwealth and needing medical attention.

I know it may just be wishful thinking but when we first saw the Kingdom it screamed Beth. At Grady, we saw Beth in a medical setting, learning from Dr. Edwards being his assistant which in the dead world is the new form of medical school. Fast forward, if she is with the Commonwealth it would be more than likely in some kind of medical position with the possibility of Beth and Ezekiel meeting. And gives a purpose to the painting of Beth at Hilltop to be recognized by Ezekiel. There's the question of did Eugene see Beth at Grady or was he still unconscious, if so then there again the painting.

Yes! Can't help but think that Ezekiel, Carol's husband and the love of her life and Daryl's love Beth could possibly meet in the Commonwealth. That this could lead to them all coming together and then torn apart. My headcanon is that something will happen, probably to do with his cancer and Ezekiel will be sent out west and Beth will go with him. I can imagine their first meeting, Elijah keeps looking at Beth asking, do I know you, you look so familiar. And they start talking about the fact that Beth is from Georgia and it all comes together. Please don't let the writers pass up this great opportunity, especially when it seems that they've been setting this up the whole time.

Yeah for sure! Love that! I’ve always thought about maybe him mentioning that his wife is named Carol. And maybe she doesn’t even think it’s the one she knows bc more than one person can be named Carol, right? But through conversation or more details, just as your head canon above, they realize this is the Carol she knows. Scenes like these would be so much fun!

You guys discussed the blood on Beth’s white cardigan and on the shoe with white laces. It’s actually something I’ve thought about before, though I still don’t know what the most precise interpretation of it should be. But I’ve mentioned that I believe shoe/leg/foot references allude to the trunk of a car (because boot is Australian and British for trunk). Also, I believe that TPTB sometimes use the human trunk to allude to the trunk of a car (the upper body walkers coming out of the back of a car in WHAWGO, the library guy hanging from a bridge that had an x painted on his upper body, Beth’s blue hospital scrubs, Noah’s t-shirt and loads more).

Well, we see Beth get blood spatter on her upper body in Still, and we see the shoe with the white laces get a similar type of blood spatter in Slabtown. These could be trunk references.

How should we interpret it then? I don’t have anything groundbreaking on that. Just that it appears to be further evidence of an injured Beth somehow ending up in the trunk/back of a car. So basically, not anything I didn’t already believe in, but it certainly fits the symbolism language.

That’s pretty much what I have to add to the chess theory for now. As you can see, our conversations can meander and include things like headcanons. (I’d love to tell you we’re all symbolism business all the time, but that’s just not true. ;D). Anyway, hope this gets you all excited for what’s to come. It’s only a theory for now, but as you can see, there’s some pretty compelling evidence. I’ve said for a long time that the show is pointing toward some HUGE conflict in the future, and since Rick disappeared, I’ve known it would be the helicopter people. But until Nonny sent in that ask, I’d never considered that maybe the black and white theme might be pointing to it, too. Awesome!
