Okay, this is just a theory and really more of a question I want to ask to the fandom -

I'm curious to know why the Luke-April-Lorelai storyline was so cringy and something that fans hate when quoting the most hated storylines of the series. I'm not on any side, it's just that I'm... I on hearing it, thought it was interesting and at the same time, too much?!

I also have to say that if, and that's a big IF, ASP was incorporating a big twist for Rory and Jess's relationship, would she put a similar twist like this but aging it to a point that Jess has to contend with a lot of things that he missed, and that's even without Rory in the picture. I'm thinking of a legal-age child with enough boy trouble and education trouble and he has no say except guiding her as much as he can. Would that be fun?

If Rory made a pro and con list in AYITL to decide whether she has the baby or not, there's one con that would be enough and would drive her straight to the abortion clinic. It is: 'Mitchum and Sheira would be the grandparents'. That's it.

Can you imagine that? Having the grandparents of your child be the most superficial, vicious, arrogant, prickly, old-fashioned, pretentious people. What do you think those two would teach her kid? Kindness, empathy, respect? HA!

They would be the abrasive, apathetic version of Emily and Richard, which by their own means can be quite the conceited duo, but they really loved Rory (especially Richard). The 'bald, thin-haired, hedonistic toad' and his 'vacuous, botox gold digger' wife don't even know how to spell love. It is possible they wouldn't even acknowledge the child since Rory's not worthy in their eyes and it was consumed in an affair.

Point is; my Rory is better off far away from that family!

okay, for the post revival WIP, I have so many favorite scenes, but I had to go with this one:

And then I started writing a fic that took place over New Year’s Eve 2001/Gilmore Girls season 2 that didn't get finished in time, but here's a scene from that that I love:

For my current fic, though... a snippet would unfortunately be too spoilery because my favorite scene is the core of the next chapter haha so we'll just have to wait and see for that one! And for any other WIPs... again I think too spoilery, but I may reconsider.

idk how r*gan shippers think ayitl was hopeful for their ship like they had a pretty explicit goodbye and it indicates she didn't plan to have him in the kid's life which. lol. lmao. he's gonna find out??? his family knows her family?? and i do think for all the ways he's irresponsible he WOULD want to be involved in his kid's life to an extent like he at least has the excuse of living an ocean way unlike christopher but he wouldn't take sixteen years to visit his kid's home imo

but anyway like. he was doing nothing to fight this arranged engagement which i know we don't know much about but you have to assume there's some amount of feeling between him and odette bc like. he has a choice here ya know and neither of them actually acknowledge wanting to stop it from happening AND they're yet again using their relationship as a form of escapism (which bugs me bc rory was over that shit in season 6 idk why they made her have anything to do with that life and death brigade nonsense again) like it's absolutely not a healthy situation

and personally if i were a r*gan shipper i would be bugged at how it ignores the things from season 7 like logan somewhat going against his father in the end and that he and rory were generally a little better at communicating (still not the best because ASP won't let any couple be truly good at communicating, so like dear god will fans not use that as an argument against any shp there are other things to criticize but none of these couples are open and honest with each other lol) LIKE that is the whole thing with ayitl is it basically makes like everyone regressed particularly rory and it's frustrating but yeah like. idk why people find affairs so romantic but it's not and it's definitely not proof that two people are meant to be together

I'm remembering a few years back I saw a photographer on Facebook who advertised their services by doing a humorous boudoir shoot with Chewbacca (or you know, somebody wearing a Chewbacca costume). So just... a bunch of photos of Chewbacca lounging around on a bed in alluring poses... And it was really funny but my first thought was this: "Somewhere, Lorelai is sending this to Rory, to torture her about That One Time."

She just texts her the link with a "I thought you might enjoy this..." with a winky face and a bunch of inappropriate emojis...

Chapter Summary: Levy struggles to deal with some inconvenient symptoms of her pregnancy.

Excerpt:

“I’ll try not to piss you off then.” He joked.

She chuckled. “Well luckily a few years of teaching middle schoolers has given me some good emotional control skills.”

He nodded and smiled. “Sorry I don’t really know what to ask a pregnant person, I’ve never been in this situation before.”

“I would be surprised if you had.” Levy jested. “You don’t have to ask me any questions, there’s not much interesting stuff going on, mostly just cravings and hormones right now.” She noticed a series of digits scribbled on Gajeel’s cup. “Looks like you have an admirer.” She mentioned, gesturing to the cup.

Gajeel looked curiously at the cup. “Oh, huh.” He said quietly. “Sorry I didn’t even notice.”

Rory thought about it. A reunion on New Years Eve. Sending out invites to people she hadn’t seen in four to ten years because she was too lonely to spend the last day of 2010 alone. It sounded a little desperate, too desperate for her liking. So she tried to envision her New Years alone... Come to think of it, Rory could stand to be humbled by her desperation.

i have to say, i kind of think ayitl is a darkly genius means of resolving a not-quite-love-triangle -- a highly discoursed-upon love situation, if you will -- because i think both rory/logan and rory/jess shippers look at the revival like “this shows exactly why [pairing i don’t like] doesn’t work, and exactly why [pairing i do like] does work”

and i think it works equally well in either direction, hahahahaha
