THE MORNING AFTER POST-4X07

"Be honest," Kate teases as she sits across from Rick, "did you keep refilling my wine so I'd have to stay the night?"

He gasps in mock offense. "Manipulate you with alcohol? I wouldn't dream of it." He slides one of the coffee mugs in her direction. "I simply wanted us both to relax after a stressful day. And..." His cheeks flush and he looks down at the table, then back up at her. "Maybe I didn't want to be alone."

Her cheeks warm, and she curls her hands around her mug. "Martha and Alexis were home," she reminds him quietly.

"That's not what I mean."

She nods and lowers her own gaze to her coffee. Familiar hands enter her vision, and she tenses when they cover hers, his fingers grasping tightly.

"I know-" His voice cracks with emotion, and she looks back up at him, finds his serious gaze locked on her.

"What, Rick?"

He takes a deep breath, and she expects him to look away again, but to her surprise, his eyes hold hers.

She's only seen him look this serious a handful of times, and she can't look away.

"I know you're not ready for more than what we have," he finally continues. "But, Kate...I thought I was going to die yesterday. Several times. And every time, the last thing on my mind was you." He squeezes her hands. "So however long it takes, however long you need, I'll wait."

He falls silent, and all she can do for several long moments is stare, her mind racing.

She thought he was going to die several times too. And every time, she was filled with uncontrollable panic that she'd lose him, and rage towards the people who would be responsible.

She doesn't want to live without him anymore.

And maybe...maybe she doesn't need to be perfect for him. Maybe she's good enough how she is.

She pulls her hands from his and stands. He starts to protest, but when she moves around the table, cups his face with his hands, and lowers her mouth to his, anything he was going to say is lost forever in their kiss.

Season 4: Castiel + Free Will

don't get me wrong Ezran not always being great at social cues is a consistent part of his character BUT Ezran also has great intuition about what people need to hear and he was 100% in the right to think Callum was talking about Rayla in 4x05 considering that throughout the season Callum literally has an easier time (not easy time) opening up about the possession to both Ez and Rayla than he does in even talking about his big complicated feelings for Rayla ("[Big sigh] You're right though. I know it's silly with everything going on, but..."); he'd had two years worth of pain to process > just one day with the possession. And although Rayla's delivery can be imperfect, she ALSO told Callum exactly what he needed to hear in 4x07. From the second he says "I need you to kill me" she heartily internally (and then externally disagrees) but she lets him talk out his rationality anyway, then refuses to entertain it bc it's horrific and him trying to take away his own choice(s)/life ahead of time, she reaffirms his identity and his agency, and he finds enough inspiration in it that he immediately tries to take her advice by throwing away the cube; he just can't do it. That doesn't mean Ez or Rayla know exactly what's going on in his head (they don't) but no one's a mind reader, and he loves them so dearly; "Rayla made me feel better, like she always does" from Callum's Spellbook lives in my mind rent free (aka why he runs right to her in 6x01 when he's stressed about Aaravos then, too), and Ezran has clearly become his brother's main confidant in her absence. Just because they're imperfect doesn't mean he doesn't recognize and appreciate what they're trying to do (and that they're not successful at it, to a degree, either)

Do you think it's a good sign ABC went with a Buddie post for Thanksgiving? Seems like a lot of comments were happy with it.

I feel as though it’s a great sign. They could have used any pic and they chose a Buddie and the Turkey pic from 4x07. Hopefully ABC turns out to be on BUDDIE’s side and FINALLY makes them canon.
