Good reveal au, where after learning phantom's identity and realizing the atrocities that the GIW have committed (or alternatively, ethical science au, where they find out the GIW plagarized them), the fenton parents decided to create the 'ultimate ghost-ending weapon' and sell it to the agents.

They go absolutely overboard, describing to the agents in meticulous detail how it evaporates any ghost it hits near-instantly and describing it quite ruthlessly in the blueprints, and soon the GIW have raplaced all their main weapons with the new gun.

Except it doesn't actually kill ghosts. It's the Fenton Bazooka. You know, the one that creates a portable portal to suck the ghost back into the ghost zone? What they actually did was retool it slightly to make it look more grusome than it actually is. They even added a beacon in Phantom's Keep, which all Fenton Bazookas will target when they open a portal, so the ghosts are always delivered to the keep.

From there, Phantom stationed an emergency medical team at the keep to treat the many injured and ragged ghosts that the GIW 'destroyed,' and to explain what just happened.

What they didn't anticipate was that now that the GIW have a mass-produced weapon that they believed would effectively eradicate ghosts, they would go on the offensive. They have a number of cities they've been monitoring but didn't want to get involved in without better tools.

One of those cities is Gotham.

And the Bats are ectocontaminated enough to register as ghosts.

Batman witnessed several of his children get evaporated by green energy weapons within mere moments of each other. He's absolutely gutted. Devastated. They didn’t even stand a chance.

He'll get his revenge, and it's frighteningly easy to track the weapon to private subcontractors. The Doctors Fenton, in Illinois. Their research calls for the genocide of all ghost kind, and apparently, that war started by killing his own children.

His children will not die in vain.

He gets to Amity Park and finds the Engineer's Nightmare of a building that is Fentonworks, but that night, before he can hack through the security and break in, one of the windows opens.

It's one of his kids that he had watched evaporate before his very eyes. They give him a silent signal of one of their identifying security codes and gesture for him to come inside.

Is it a trap? A prank in poor taste? Utterly genuine?

He goes through the window.

All of his dead kids are there, wearing borrowed pajamas and only their dominoes to conceal their identities. Daniel Fenton (son of the Fentons, this is his bedroom, has voiced a few arguments against his parent's views, but still an unknown) is among the crowd of teens and young adults, twirling on an office chair and obnoxiously sipping a capri sun.

"First thing you need to know, Bats," Daniel says after finishing his drink, "is that my parents are absolutely NOT genocidal ectophobic scumbags, and that is the reason why your kids are still alive."

Being a batfam fan is funny because people will make a post like “here’s my headcanon-“ and it’s just something that’s directly canon to the story then post about major canon events and get everything wrong.

Something is making my brain itch about this father-daughter (assuming that’s their relationship) and the lack of second parent and the beagle.

There is also the conundrum of the check shirt! Check shirts usually mean impending danger for the wearer and so it has me wondering if whatever happens to this man will be foreshadowing something happening to Eddie?!

But there is also something about this still that is giving me a throw back to Eddie’s introduction to 911 and the 118 - that they’re going to somehow parallel Buck becoming part of Eddie and Chris’s family - something around Buck introducing Eddie to Carla so that he could get Chris what he needed and build a life and a family in LA.

There’s something about the idea that the show might make this parallel at the moment Eddie is leaving the 118 - to really drive it home what Eddie is leaving by moving to Texas - because it would hit hard for both Eddie and Buck - highlighting that they’ve both built their family together at the moment it’s seemingly going to be torn apart.

But in juxtaposition to this, there’s also something about the idea of the beagle metaphorically representing Buck or Bucks abandonment issues more specifically.

Buck rescuing the beagle from a shelter because it has seemingly been abandoned by its family in the same way Buck feels abandoned by his own family throughout his life. Buck getting attached to the beagle is a metaphor for Buck clinging to his abandonment issues because they’re safe because they’re what he knows - what he’s loved with all his life (so being abandoned by Eddie (and Chris) is fine because that’s what happens to him).

Only for him to find out the beagle actually does have a family who miss and love it and they get to be reunited - Buck can make that happen.

So reuniting dog and family is also symbolic of Buck saving himself - letting go of his abandonment issues - and by doing that - by rescuing himself - he can be reunited with his family - Eddie and Chris will come back to him - come back for him.

Some info about the previously stated AU.

Poseidon was fighting in the Trojan war(on the side of the greeks after he was wronged by the trojans) and was doing a pretty decent job in his opinion when he decided to spend the night by the camp properly.

Unfortunately for him this was the night where the "horse plan" was being finalized and he sort of stood a LITTLE too close to Polites and god ushered into the wooden horse, too stunned to really argue that he wasn't one of Ody's men.

This however means they only really noticed they'd picked up an extra soldier when they'd already sailed off with their fleet, noticing the stunned man just sort of standing there on the ship Ody was on.

Asking him his name wasn't really getting them anywhere, as he claimed to be "nobody important". When asked where he was from, which army had accidentally left their soldier to go into the horse he blurted out he was from Athens, his family having moved there a few years ago as most were sailors and were more comfortable near a port. To his bafflement they bought the lie and told him they'd help him get back to Athens once they reached Ithaca so he thanked them so they wouldn't grow suspicious.

The story beats are a bit closer to the original odyssey while still clearly being an Epic AU and has Poseidon, pretending to be mortal, trailing behind Ody as the king wants to keep a close eye on their unexpected friend(Athena tipped him off something was off about the nameless soldier but she couldn't figure out what it was).

exactly like that! though she's not the only one...

edit: might need to add some additional dialogue to this to make it more clear, but a clarification in the interim; he knows about his own footprints. he's just surprised to see something similar already there when he knows he's only just landed. he lifts his own shoe to confirm that they're not identical (and also to reveal this to the viewer). seems his stoicism beat off the clarity in this one, sorry 😭

It’s the boy! Umemiya’s number one stan and his most feral guard dog! I went into this with no clear picture for what he’d have, except for what I mentioned in another post regarding guard dog characters getting dog-like pokemon to match the vibes. Stumbled on Greavard and almost skipped over him except—

I haven’t read the latest chapter yet so I don’t know how he met Umemiya but this seemed too good to pass up in terms of this AU. Umemiya picked up a puppy dog who just. Never left him again.

Also I liked him having a ghost type since he comes across as a little gloomy in canon.

Weavile is… almost purely because of the little smug face he makes sometimes with Sakura. You know the one. I wanted Sneasler originally and then realized that’s from the Arceus game and therefore probably isn’t obtainable in the present. So Weavile it is! Plus, like, it’s just fitting. I don’t know I see it.

Heracross is based on the fact that Sugishita looks like the kind of person who would’ve collected stag beetles as a kid. Also ramming people with its horn is Sugishita-like behavior and you can’t change my mind.

And finally Tangela! Tangela was hatched from an egg that came from a Ditto and Umemiya’s Tangrowth mating. Sugishita — self-proclaimed apprentice who gets up at the ass-crack of dawn to check on the pokemon — was the one who found it, and by Umemiya’s logic that means he was the one to decide what to do with it. And because it’s Umemiya’s Pokémon’s child… Sugishita had to raise it himself. Obviously. (Kotoha thinks this is both the cutest and cringiest thing in the world; Ume just appreciates how dedicated Sugishita is to the daycare).

there are generally 2 philosophies when it comes to piracy.

too many people will ruin the good thing we have going on, the more eyes the worse it gets. VS the point of piracy is accessibility, therefore it's fine to spread the word on websites to visit.

i generally fall into the latter camp- but I think the important thing to recognize is that *if* a piracy site wanted to be private, they easily could be. Private trackers and newsgroups exist for a reason- but the major piracy sites (the ones I link to) are not trying to be private.
