Hamster Interactive Story
Chapter 1. Caged
Content: Giant/tiny, pet trope, dehumanization, food mention, cages, poor vision, dubious handling, fluff, female cast,
Masterlist
Tumblr media
You’re bored.
You’ve been bored for quite some time now, trapped in your small hamster cage with very little to do while your owner, Ashley, is at work.
You’re covered from head to toe with white fluffy hamster bedding, including in your curly red hair, and it’s starting to get uncomfortable. Ashley had given you a toy brush to play with earlier but you haven’t touched it yet. It sits by the cage door, slowly sinking into the stuffing.
The T.V. is playing at a low volume across the room from the countertop your cage sits on. You’re not sure if it's meant to keep you company while alone, or if Ashley simply didn’t care to turn it off before leaving the house. Either way it's hard to see past your toes before your vision completely blurs, so watching T.V. isn’t really possible. It would take you a week just to walk close enough to see it, you were sure.
A yawn escapes you and you lean back, trying to decide what to do until Ashley comes home. Sleeping is always nice, but you don’t like being startled awake by her. Especially when she uses her hands to do it by poking at you; it makes your skin prickle from the unexpected invasion.
(Top two or so answers may be used)

Wait, Kyp is the only Jedi in the Dozen? I was sure it was made up of Jedi?
What happened to him having a faction opposing Luke’s? I am confused and possibly more annoyed at this situation now?

I am mostly sleep-deprived at this point, but writing this scene, which is just the most wholesome, makes me appreciate Mace Windu even MORE as a character. (If that was even possible) just...ugh. You're a good guy and I just want good things to happen to you sorta blorbo feels right now.
Like, the more time passes and the older I get, the more I appreciate him as a character. He's definitely in my top 5 and swiftly rising to top 3 favorite Jedi. My beloved trash panda teenage dumpster fire edgelord Kyp Durron is actually falling down the list, something twenty-something El could never have imagined in a million years.
I FULLY embrace the Kyp Durron is a dumpster fire character. Kylo Ren wishes he was as edgy as mid-90's KJA writing angstlord Kyp and I fully embrace my trash tastes, especially past me's even more terrible trash tastes.
But fuck Mace Windu just keeps getting better and better with age. I have never been an Anakin enjoyed or ever on Anakin's 'side' whenever dumb fandom discourse has happened over the years. You ALL know which posts I am talking about, may they burn in fandom infamy.
And I definitely always thought the fandom was kinda a dick about him, but he's officially reached blorbo status for me. I love that I think as we as a fandom get older we're actually coming to appreciate hey maybe this guy was onto something. No he was not trying to keep Anakin down and pretty much he was spitting straight facts the whole time. I think the Clone Wars definitely helped a lot on that front in humanizing him and yeah the fandom offerings are just....so great. I love some of the fandom creations we have put out by so many talented writers and artists. I guess this is just my sappy I love everyone at this bar post.

Finished plowing my way through the Jedi Academy trilogy a while ago, and I have to say that I wasn't impressed.
Generally speaking, the writing was pretty dry. I get what kind of tone Anderson was trying to go for, but the attempt at sounding grand and momentous came across as rather artificial. Kyp also wasn't an especially compelling character, quite frankly, and I can't say I feel too invested in the rest of the new characters even after going through the trilogy.
I also didn't care for how Anderson was rather clearly dialing back on Leia’s connection with the Force. Something I really appreciated in both the the Thrawn trilogy and Dark Empire was the emphasis on the fact that Leia is very much a powerful Force-sensitive, and Anderson going "no, let’s not do that" wasn’t something I liked. Apparently the rest of Legends afterwards mostly followed this lead, which is a shame.
Oh, and I really don’t like how Anderson wrote Mara Jade. Getting downgraded to a tertiary character role is... not fun, but I can get that Anderson might have been more interested in focusing on canon characters and his own introductions (and might have worked if I had cared much about the new guys), but also getting reduced to Lando's weird sorta-but-not-really love interest was just bad. The text was also way too into describing her figure, frankly.
("her curves looked like hazardous paths through a complicated planetary system" -- eesh. Like, never mind the horniness, that’s just a stupid simile.)
The narrative also felt much too focused on romance for romance’s sake, even where it didn't make much sense. Luke's character also tends to be less Luke Skywalker and more A Wise Jedi Master. Jedi Search also relied too heavily on its villain making the stupidest possible decisions at every turn, which is never good.
That all being said, there were a few upsides. I know the blob racing bit is fairly divisive, but I liked it. It was a nice bit of levity in a fairly dry book, and I found that the writing was actually pretty clever in there. I also really liked the sequence with the spider in the Kessel mines, that was some excellent suspense writing in there and the gradual reveals and feeling of being trapped with something huge and dangerous came across really well. I also liked how Anderson tended to focus less on the usual Earthlike or single-biome worlds and more on borderline habitable, sometimes physically unstable planetoids like Kessel, Eol Sha and Anoth. They're the kind of thing you'd actually expect to run into a lot in space, and I liked the weirder, wilder galaxy they suggest. The stoic, pragmatic Vors were also an interesting society.
In short, good worldbuilding and some good spots here and there, but dragged down by dry writing and lousy character work. If nothing else, I, Jedi's supposed to cover much of the same events and I hear better things about its quality.
Up next, The Truce at Bakura.

Noted, but also, the Paladin of Conquest line in D&D exists for a reason, and there are multiple directions to take it.
Leia had a red lightsaber in the old EU for a reason. (That reason was her unpacking all the rage of dealing knowing her *father* was standing right next to her, actively murdering the rest of her family, so like. Fair.)
“I want knowledge”
“And do you know what knowledge IS?” From Rebels is a thing.
Grogu being so scared to death for so long (decades) that even with Jedi training, his instinct is to choke people using the force is a thing.
It’s more tied into the gray morality this site pushes where “oh you have extenuating circumstances like a shitty childhood and that makes it okay for you to oppress anyone who disagrees with you” shtick.
The dark side tells you you have reasons to hit first, and if you just give in, you’ll never be hurt again.
It leads you along with how you feel personally about things to the point where you don’t notice, or worse, justify what you do to the people around you.
It’s not a one hit thing where suddenly slavery is okay. (Former canon, yes. The temple on Yavin was built by the slaves of the Sith. Not much different from the Imperial Conscription of Stormtroopers. That’s supposed to be deliberate.)
It’s something that gradually works on you until your feelings become your only morality, and if you just feel more, get stronger, get angrier, you’ll be okay.
But the alternative where all your feelings don’t matter, tied up in the political structure of the Jedi order As A Political Structure is also oppressive. (Qui Gon is *not* there to free all the slaves, and Qui Gon has “Gray” leanings because he studied with the Whills in his youth, and the Whills famously teach both sides of the force and have a force ghost tradition. The Jedi do not. Lingering after death is NOT a light side technique or teaching.)
So the dark side looks like a way out, and people grasp at and struggle to create a system between the two that they think will let them do whatever they want. But the alternative extremes are One Will Eat You Alive And One Will Paralyze You.
And in the meantime, the slaves are still slaves.
Yall are so desperate for the Sith to be grey morality instead of just the straight up villains theyre constantly shown to be and it shows

Voices of the Force: Brainstorm Notes 4
For some clarification: At this point , the name Voices of the Force has come to refer, in my head, to a series of longfics that are intended to be approximately novel-length and constitute a full-scale major plot arc that follows FotJ, incorporating several different ideas I originally thought of as their own stories and may very well be written that way too. Some of the bits about Ahsoka, I already have written and posted.
The hypothetical series order I have so far, necessarily heavily abbreviated from my dedicated notes:
Relic, the first installment, opens with Vriaal II and Ahsoka joining the New Jedi Order, followed by her getting healers' orders for a few months of R&R and therapy. After that, it's three months of character interaction between Ahsoka and the various friends she makes, Jaina most of all, as well as her finding out about the Daughter's essence and some other important character developments that take place on Shedu Maad in this timeframe, such as Vestara's decision that she doesn't want to only be a Jedi and the chain of ideas that lead to her being set up to join the Rogues. Also inevitably a shitload of exposition that is me inserting my various musings on post-FotJ worldbuilding. Also some training flights in X-Wings, for some excitement.
Next is Reconstruction, which is the same time frame as Relic, and deals with events that happened in the rest of the known galaxy during that time. This includes a lot about the general political climate in the Alliance post Abeloth and Wynn's early actions as Chief of State, particularly early attempts to deal with the corporations that had come under fire for slavery after the Fountain was violated. Those actions are examined by Syal, who decides this is an Alliance worth fighting for and, after talking to Gavin, resumes her post at the head of Rogue Squadron after she left because of Daala. She immediately starts to work on the roster, and this is where she and Ves meet over holocomm. We also get the start of the Lost Tribe's contests to figure out a new leadership after Coruscant. Probably some Hapan politics too, maybe a proper introduction to Remnant Head of State Vitor Reige. The shared time frame ends with a large-scale GA fleet deployment being authorized to invade Hutt space, free the slaves, defeat their oppressors, and offer every world there representation in the Alliance and thus full sentient rights.
Shattered Glass I, II, and III cover that series of events, over maybe a year? At this point I'm just pulling numbers out of my ass as far as chronology goes. At the beginning is the first meeting of the new Rogues, and the point where Vestara starts to turn her characteristic ambition onto being the best pilot in the squadron. (I might not give her an extra romance in this version, though. Between Ben and the QPP with Ahsoka, that would possibly just be too much in her life at once.) The Jedi also send a sizeable force, led by Leia, Kyp, Jaina, and most likely another of the Masters who's an okay negotiator, since Jaina and Kyp are really only there for specific other narrative reasons I won't go into at the moment. Their objective is to ensure decent living conditions on the planets that refuse Alliance representation for whatever reason, and also to keep an eye out for any sign that the military's movements are being influenced by corporations that are trying to avoid having their shit brought to justice. In that case, the Jedi are supposed to bring the corporations' shit to justice themselves. So the other Master is Corran, maybe? I do want to keep this part a summary, but there are indeed evil corporations doing evil schemes and they're stopped by the Jedi and the non-corrupt government, and the Hutts, after 25 millennia of being a galactic power, are finally rid of their criminal empire and stuff.

New Jedi Order, Part I:
How much can you change existing characters before they become ocs?
Either way, just some notes on SDTCI New Jedi Order members:
Luke Skywalker: Lichtenberg scars criss cross his body, Sidious’ parting gift. Very good at energy deflection to keep this from happening again. Heavy, brutal fighter, most resembling Form V. Personally mentors Kyp Durron, Grogu, and Tahiri Veila. Professional tax evader.
Mara Jade: Actually ran away from the Empire at 16 here, joined with Talon soon after. Otherwise mostly unchanged, but gave Anakin’s lightsaber back to him, and built another purple one. Mentors Jaina Solo. Helps Luke evade taxes.
Ezra Bridger: Beard, 6’3, robotic right leg, blaster saber, fighting style ends up resembling a mix of Forms II and III. Takes Pypey, Barratk’l, and later Jacen Solo as padawans.
Kyle Katarn: Would be played by Karl Urban in live action. Yellow saber, preference for forms V & VI. Takes on several OCs as padawans, and the Order’s main combat instructor besides that.
Kam Solusar: Would be portrayed by Michael B Jordan. Pink lightsaber, a little concerned about possible connections to the darkside. Definite malewife.
Tionne Solusar: Much more alien, alabaster skin with teal body markings, sharp teeth & pointy ears. Dyes her hair & wears very bright clothing. Tall lady. Order’s main archivist, expert with any stringed instrument.
Corran Horn: Not much changes with him. In competition with Anakin to determine who the Order’s greatest pilot is.
Cal Kestis: Mirialian, played Sima Liu. Lightsaber personally offends Kyle, Mara & Obi Wan. Gets his revenge by teaching Ben Skywalker, who adopts the same style. Another definite malewife.
Merrin: Nightsister, cool goth aunt to the younger jedi. Doesn’t usually fight with a lightsaber, good with Jar’Kai regardless. Teaches survival and illusions, as well as offering alternative views on the Force.
Cilghal: Order’s main healer, and with an...interesting love of dead things. Serene, but snark is on point. Will happily heal any stupid injury you present her, but will openly laugh at you. The other Form II master in the order, people are jealous of her silver Lightsaber.
Kirana Ti: Met Luke during SDTCI’s equivalent to the Courtship of Princess Leia (but much different, such as taking place in 3 ABY, and not including Han), one of his oldest students, and the person Luke will say is his best friend in the Order after Mara (Ezra’s jealous). Trained in lightsabers by Ahsoka, and of course teaches Tenel Ka. Surprisingly very chill, and married to the Order’s third malewife, Raider.
Streen: Ex gas miner, jumpy, and very nervous around the Pre-Purge Jedi of the order. Actually connects with Cal, and ends up as one of the Order’s premier therapists/mind healers.
Leia Organa: Honorary member of the Order, mostly just shows up to beat the living stuffing out of anyone who accepts her open challenge, but does end up teaching Saba Sebatyne. The reason Luke evades taxes (Imagine paying taxes to your sister! Luke, I get that, but I don’t want to get arrested!)
Korto Vos: Not really a member, just a force sensitive who shows up occasionally and usually deposits a new student on their doorstep, or leaves some pertinent info on Luke’s desk. Only makes Batman entrances and exits (This building is full of nosy force-sensitives, how does he do that?!)

Content warning: Pet trope, Giant/tiny, female cast, poor vision, selective mutism, vertigo, heights, hair pulling, broken bones, cages, falling,
Votes: Brush the bedding out of your hair and check the cage door to leave!
You lean over to pad around for the brush, digging your arms into the fluff until you triumphantly resurface with the plastic toy. Gingerly you start working away at the tips of your hair, feeling around for debris that has gotten stuck in it. You work for a while, tossing fluff to the side, one section at a time…
It's no good.
Every time you manage to clean a chunk of your curls, and start on the next layer, your clean hair gets bedding caught in it all over again. There's too much hair and too much fluff in your cage to handle separating the two.
You have to get away from it. Only for a minute.
You crawl for the cage door with a thudding in your chest at the thought of leaving your cozy nest. It takes a second to figure out the latch with your hands, but it flips open easily. You squirm your way out of the heavy door, and land on the cold hard counter.
A sharp breath fills your lungs, and for a moment you’re too stunned to move. The brush clatters beside you.
You can only see the marble pattern right underneath your thighs, but beyond that it becomes such a bad blur that you can’t see where the ledge of the counter ends.
Slowly you start brushing your hair again, and now you throw the fluff as far from you as possible. You’re doing well and the pressure starts to lift from your shoulders.
Until you reach the back.
The brush tangles up in your curls, and when you yank it, it lodges deeper against your scalp. Tears spring to your eyes, and panic causes you to tug the brush sharply in an attempt to rip it from your hair. The sting mixed with the motion sends waves of dizziness over your body and you lose balance, falling sideways.
The counter ledge is closer than you realize, and instead of marble hitting your sides, it's just air.
Tumblr media
You’re falling.
Falling.
An explosion of hot metallic pain slaps your whole body, and the air is knocked out of you, leaving you winded. Your arm throbs like thunder, and you bite back a nauseating scream.

The craft approached the depot at a speed slightly faster than safe, then rapidly decelerated and dropped to a smooth repulsorlift landing atop the platform, mere meters from Kyp. He grinned. Whoever was piloting—probably Mara—had either playfully or maliciously made the approach as intimidating as possible, the better to spook him into sudden retreat. Of course, he hadn’t budged. He waved a hand at the shapes within the cockpit, indistinct behind its viewscreens, and waited.
Soon enough the boarding ramp descended and down trotted Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade Skywalker. They were dressed simply, Luke in black, Mara, for once, in the standard two-shades-of-brown Jedi robes.

forbidden fruit
summary:  He watches, jaw set, as Tohru scribbles some numbers across the paper, twirling a piece of her hair around her finger absentmindedly, and tries not to picture how it would look wrapped around his hand, her neck arched backwards in pleasure. He decides he cannot blame Adam for the bite that expelled him from Eden.
rating:  explicit (18+)
AO3 link
The hardest part of being a junishi, other than the junishi that he must be, is the limitations one is forced to accept. As a child it was easier to come to terms with-- Kazuma, after all, could still be affectionate with him, and he attended boy’s schools for most of his life. The friends he did make would tackle him and wrestle with him without consequence.
It was at twelve years old, when he first became interested in the girls who attended the sister school down the road, that he realized the magnitude of the curse. It was not as if the unseen forces that bound his soul to the cat’s were able to differentiate between hugging and other kinds of contact.
+
Kyo Sohma does not consider himself impulsive. Others may say differently-- Kazuma and his school teachers come to mind-- but he personally prides himself on his ability to stifle his most base urges. He has, after all, managed to share a home with that damn rat for nearly a year without strangling him.
Tohru Honda, however, won’t stop testing his resolve.
+
He notices her the moment he meets her. He doesn’t love her yet-- in fact, he almost certainly resents her-- but that fact does not stop him from noticing her. She’s cute , he thinks in passing, his eyes straying from Yuki’s bored expression to the girl behind him, dusted in pieces of drywall from the ceiling above. From that moment onward, the sentiment worms it’s way into his brain, surfacing at the most inconvenient of times— at night, when he can’t sleep, or during a particularly dull moment of class. Tohru Honda is cute.
+
He discovers, as he watches her bend down to build lopsided sandcastles, her tight pink swimsuit riding up, his eyes lingering on the newly-exposed gentle curve where her thighs meet her bottom, that it is not enough to accept that he loves her. Kyo cannot pull his eyes from her thighs, pressed together in that careful way they always are when exposed, dusted with sand.
He wants to run his hands along the pale smoothness of her legs, to part them, to know her in ways he never has. He’d like to press her against the sand and give into his more animal instincts, to run his mouth over her tiny breasts, to flick his tongue against her closely-guarded inner thighs, to feel the grit of those rogue grains of sand against his teeth.
“Whatcha looking at?” Haru’s teasing tone pulls his attention from Tohru’s petite frame, and Kyo feels a hot blush rise to the tips of his ears. His cousin grins at him as if he knows, and Kyo lands a firm punch on his arm.
“Shut up, wouldya?”
+
It seems that every damn thing she does these days leaves him aching for her. The way she leans over the kitchen counter when checking a recipe makes him want to bend her forward and knock the cookbook to the floor; the way her damp uniform clings to her chest makes him want to rip her top off with his teeth and fuck her through the perfect pleats of that temptingly short skirt, right there on the sidewalk; the perfect way her hand fits in his makes him wonder how it might fit around other appendages.
He casts a glance at the closed door, light from the hallway filtering in from the crack beneath it. Momiji is supposed to share the room with him, but he’s spent most nights of the vacation in Tohru’s room, curled up next to her and Kisa, leaving Kyo with no roommate. He can’t help but think what he’d do if it were him instead of Momiji in that room-- kick Kisa out, for one. Probably wouldn’t even be subtle about it. And then, when the door was firmly shut behind her, he’d roll over to Tohru and--
Kyp rubs one out under the covers, grunting into his pillow. After he finishes, he cleans himself up in the adjoining bathroom, splashing cold water on his face in a vain attempt to chase the bright red flush from his ears and cheeks.
He’s not sure what it is he’s doing, allowing himself to fantasize about her like this. It’s bad enough to love her, but to want her-- to need her, the way that he does, feels shameful. Monstrous, even. Like he is guilty of yet another unforgivable sin.
+
At first, when they return back to Shigure’s house, it’s easy for him to ignore her. Wake up early and go for long runs, spend his days at the dojo training, and come home after the sun has set to eat leftovers from the fridge, pretending not to read the notes Tohru leaves taped to the top, the ones that make his heart beat faster in their simple kindness.
I missed you at dinner, Kyo! Please let me know what you think of the curry!
When school starts again, he is forced back into close proximity with her, walking to and from classes alone, Yuki held up in student government meetings. She grabs his hand occasionally, pulling him ahead at crosswalks or stopping to point out a frog in a gutter, giggling at his lukewarm reactions as she always does. The way she says his name-- with unbridled excitement, the kind that only a year ago would have scared him off-- makes him wonder how he can both love someone so much. And the way she kneels down, on both knees, to carefully rescue the frog from his drainpipe prison, makes him wonder how he can possibly keep resisting his impulses.
+
He makes the mistake of venting his frustrations to Haru. They’re seated on the floor of his bedroom, controllers in hand, when he blurts it out. He half expects Haru to laugh, but his cousin doesn’t even bat an eye-- doesn’t even look away from the screen. “So that’s why you agreed to come over today? Because you’re horny for Honda? Too scared to go home?” His voice is as montone as ever.
The bluntness of his question causes Kyo’s ears to burn and his knuckles to turn white as he tightens his grip on the controller. “Jeez, Haru, thanks for being so understanding.”
“Hm.” Haru presses a series of buttons, completing a combo that sends Kyo’s character flying off the edge of the screen. “I win again.”`
“So what? No advice for me?”
Haru turns to look at Kyo, his expression flat. “I thought you just wanted to vent.”
“I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not.”
Haru blinks slowly before turning his attention back to the television screen, selecting the option to begin a new round. “Y’know, I’m fairly sure mouth stuff doesn’t count,” he says casually as the on-screen clock begins to count down,  “for the curse or whatever.”
Kyo resists the urge to drag his cousin by his hair and shake him around. “That’s not what I meant by advice, asshole.”
“I know.”
It’s not that Kyo hasn't thought about what sort of things would and wouldn’t trigger the curse-- it’s quite the opposite. His internet history reflects that, auto-completing to phrases like “petite brunette schoolgirl fucked from behind” and “brunette blowjob” with a frequency that forces him to clear his cookies on a weekly basis. Tohru once borrowed his laptop briefly to look up a recipe and he held his breath the entire time.
Haru’s avatar lands another K.O., and he pauses the game to look at Kyo earnestly. “I’m just saying. You have options.”
+
She asks him to help her study. It’s the kind of thing she’d usually ask Yuki to do, but the rat is hardly around these days, and Kyo has decent grades, if not nearly the patience of his cousin. They sit at the kitchen table, papers and books spread before them, and she leans across the table to check his work, her arm brushing against his in a way that gives him goosebumps.
“Kyo-kun,” he starts, and she lets out a small breath of surprise, “I’m sorry! I was just wondering if you could show me how you found the answer to this equation.”
“I-” he recollects himself, blushing a little, “Yeah, here.” He breaks the equation down into smaller parts, and she nods in understanding.
Temptation, he supposes, is the root of mankind’s original sin. The fruit of knowledge would have remained whole and uneaten without it. He watches, jaw set, as Tohru scribbles some numbers across the paper, twirling a piece of her hair around her finger absentmindedly, and tries not to picture how it would look wrapped around his hand, her neck arched backwards in pleasure. He decides he cannot blame Adam for the bite that expelled him from Eden.
