Lucas is kinda bit popular but he doesnt even know it like- some of the girls are always blushing when his playing or just walking past by or just studying/doing homework. Dustin notice it and told him but he kept saying thats impossible theres no one in this school like him.

While El is being oblivious she didnt even know some guys/girls having a crush on her, will always notice them staring at her smilling in her dress before but didnt say anything cuz he doesnt know how she will react.

meanwhile max somehow getting bullied by some girls who likes lucas, they kept telling her to get away from lucas his ours, max is so confused but deep down shes asking herself did he cheated on her and el?

Shes glad that she still have el but mike told her about el popularity because will told him that some guys or girls are always staring at her but dont notice it.

max felt jelousy around her body but at the same time sadness... everyday when el, max, lucas going on dates shes always acting weird, one day lucas and el notice it and decided to ask her if shes okay but max always said shes fine, they dont believe her and ask her if they did something wrong? she left a sigh and said shes breaking up with them and sorry for everything, just like that and run away and cried on her sheets,

will el and lucas will get her back if they found out the truth why she break up with them? or they will just give up?

Okay so firstly- the wouldn't just give up, no way.

Secondly - welp, they actions kinda depends on in which au it is. Like, if it would be post s4 than Lucas would know better than to leave Max alone with her problems. If it's in new au, then well- I think Lucas would be kinda dumb lol. Like, with that thinking that he get her back every time, so he will get her back this time too.

Without El, Lucas probably would leave her for a while and give her space, and then buy her something.

But El is also his and Max's partner and she can't just let go of her gf.

She wants to come to Max, but Lucas wants to give her space and in the end, they agree of coming to Max now and buying her a gift,

They end up in front of her doors with her mum saying that she feels sick and she can't hang out with them. Lucas and El know that it's obviously not true. They want to barge into the house, but Max's mum whispers to give her daughter again and she will come and see them.

So they do. In that time, they hang out with a Party and that's when our big brain Mike says "just go on the roof and knock on her window. It worked on Nancy when Steve came to her" and that made Dustin and Will go feral, but Lucas and El looked at each other and mentally agreed that it's their next step if Max won't see them tomorrow.

She didn't.

So in the evening, they went to her. El use her powers to lift Lucas and herself on the roof, and then Lucas knocked on Max's window.

She was so, so surprised, but opened the window, even if only because she was worried that her two dumbasses will fall.

Then they talk. Some crying and yelling later, and Max finally confesses why she broke up with them. El hugs her, saying that she didn't even notice because she only looks at her and Lucas. And Lucas says that this perfect body of his is reserved only for her (Max) and El.

Max laughs because they both are being stupid and romantic, and god, she missed them.

They end up asleep on Max's bed.

(Fortunately, Max's mum saw that and called Hopper and Lucas' mum so there won't be any problems)

at random point in s5 we see mike has a letter with him. (maybe he’s being targeted by vecna so it could be a parallel to max’s letters) the only part of the letter we see is that it’s signed “love, mike.” we spends a little while having no idea who it’s addressed to. (ga most likely believes it’s to el) it’s later revealed (maybe during the church byler scene??) that the letter was for will and then they kiss and gay marriage is legalized early and byler + jopper + ronance + elumax combined wedding.

Max's memories are forshadowing: ElMax & Lumax

Inventive foreshadowing creates a sense of unity in a story even when the audience may not be consciously aware of the foreshadowing and payoff., David Trottier

Sort of. The happy memories actually give us the basic structure of Max's character arc in regards to relationships in Season 5. (As far as there is scene material because I think there's something else.)

Now the first thing is Lucas & Max from S4, but then they start to show us several scenes but completely out of order.

Lucas "I'm right here" (at her bedside - S4 or 5?), Swallowing the red Skittle/the ghost like Pac-Man mid flight ("You were wearing that yellow benny's burgers t-shirt and it was so big it almost swallowed you whole")=consumption of a ghost, followed by the linking sequence, going back to S2 apso out of order, the boys meeting the killer & Lucas and Dustin teaming with Max, the ghost trap, photos of ElMax, like frozen in time (Doctor Who=single moment in time). Lucas and Max when he calls her Madmax (like Mad Max Rockatansky), again ElMax together ....

...even Mike appears (a talk between him & Max like Kota and Lucy having a conversation?), foreshadowing the movie date, ElMax hugging, Lumax not unhappy and, Highfive! Winners.

Lover in the mind - lover in the physical world.

Both have patterns that need another verse in order to rhyme bc of a tiny change midway through (similar to a certain D&D bridge puzzle😉)

Oh, and the movie date scene is a basic story writing technique: a promise. And this needs a payoff. The question isn't IF but HOW. (And how you get abilities is been established in Season 4.)

It's you and me won't be unhappy.... Promise, progress, payoff.

So, they made a promise, are now (with the revival) in the process of a progress which will be added through the way how Max will wake up....

...and this will get a payoff. Simple. Right now, most can't imagine how, given the circumstances even though the writers gave us the rules for doing it and every foreshadowing possible that will lead to a payoff. Max can't feel nor see - both! So, either both will be mended or none. Excluding one is bad writing. - So, its both. We learned how, therefore it's not a Deus ex machina, and we will learn why. Max only needs to take his, I mean her medicine. Darn pronouns.

That payoff is only possible through ElMax and note how they use sequences with them in which they are physically close to one another after the mall scene in which they link, like they are...inseparable.

“Chicago is good,” Max tells her sincerely, feeling like there's more truth to it now than there ever has been in the whole of her life. “I started going to that— that thing you mentioned?”

Nancy brightens slightly, surprise more than joy to it, but a certain sort of delight nonetheless.

“Really?” she lets her cheek fall into the palm of her hand with a tilt off the axis of her neck. “How do you like it? I know it's... weird, but—”

“Very weird,” Max snorts, self deprecating until she shakes her head and shakes it off. “I think it helps, maybe. Haven't been going long enough to tell, but it's like... Like they don't get it, but they still get it, I guess?”

“Yeah,” Nancy breathes, relief or something like it, “the first time I went I kinda thought it would be just— weepy people talking about how much they loved whoever they lost, but it's... it's different.”

“It's different,” Max agrees, thinking about her first time walking into the local chapter of a wider grief group, the way she had curled in on herself as far away from everyone else as possible, as though they would look at her and know she was different from them.

As if they could see it in her skin, the simultaneous grief for what she could have had and relief that she had been freed from sharing a life and a home with Billy when he died. As if it was clear that hers wasn't a pure grief, unmarred by the violence that preceded it.

Max had been surprised when Nancy had recommended it to her at all, had shoved off suggestions that she try it herself time and again before a bad week around the Fourth of July had her lacking in sleep and scared of her own closed eyes.

Only then, after disappearing into the night for too many hours and scaring the shit out of Lucas and El had she accepted that maybe she hadn't processed it all as well as she thought she had on her own.

Only then had she called up Nancy and asked for the name of the group again.

Only then had she tried, and so only then had she realized it wasn't at all what she'd thought, these people with just as big and complex and bitter emotions as her, all working through different stages of the same terrible and frightening things, even another boy who had been present when his sister was killed in front of him.

People who get it, even if they never could.

People she could talk to about it without then having to go to bed with them, without having to bring up their own trauma in the process.

“You know,” she lets her own curiosity step into the light as her eyes rove across the added fullness to Nancy's cheeks since the last time she saw her, the bangs hanging low on her forehead, “you never told me who turned you onto that thing.”

“Hmm?” Nancy's brows shoot up, her cheeks color, like it's a far more personal question than it is. “Oh, I mean, it was just something I was recommended.”

Max's grin grows wide and sharp because Nancy knows better than to open up a target like that by dodging the question, making it clear the answer is more important than Max realized when asking it.

I’m planning a pretty big fic of a Hawkins apocalypse au (not a prediction for season 5, just some fun before it comes out)

I have a pretty specific idea for it, and a general outline with some cut up into chapters. But knowing me, I’m gonna get tired of it halfway through and give up on it.

I don’t want to do that though bc it’s a really cool concept and I rlly love it and I want to share it with everyone.

I just want to know if anyone is interested in doing like a collab of sorts?

I’m not rlly sure how else to phrase it 😭

The main ships would be

I’m probably repeating something that has been said on here a gazillion times, but I’m writing a Byler-centric (also possibly, VERY slow burn Elumax?), post-ST4 speculative fic now and so I’ve been thinking about a few things…

Why do I feel like it’s more likely that El is the one who never loved Mike romantically in the first place? El had only been out of the lab for a week and had only just learnt what a friend was, you really expect me to believe she developed a romantic crush on Mike when there was arguably so much more competing for her attention? It is possible that she may have developed a crush on Mike later on, but I’m doubtful even about that.

Mike undoubtedly means a lot to El. Mike was kind towards El, and her first friend. He called her pretty when she was mourning her lost girlhood. Till S3, Mike was someone she could cling to when everything else was unsteady and she was in dire need of reassurance; and El grows to become very dependent on this, hence her despair when she thinks Mike doesn’t love her anymore. Mike is her only tie to normalcy when she’s struggling with it in every other aspect of her life (In S4, Mike’s not the only one trying to be normal.) But none of this is an indicator of romantic love, or something that only romantic love can give you.

Comphet can absolutely warp your worldview. I used to believe I had crushes on boys when I was absolutely not attracted towards them. The obsession, the need for validation from them (the validation of being liked by a boy)— this was very much real. El may have liked kissing Mike, but that may more have been a matter of liking the act of kissing and not so much the person she does it with. She may have obsessed over spending time with Mike when they first started dating, but notice how that goes out of the window as soon as she makes another friend in Max.

El has very complicated feelings for Mike, that’s for certain. But she may not love him romantically as she thinks she does.

On the contrary, it is quite possible that Mike once had a crush on El. She’s pretty! She has superpowers! She’ll help them find Will! Most of all, his friends think El is someone he should be crushing on and El does seem to like him back, so what’s there to lose? But a middle school crush is usually no grounds for a healthy, sustainable relationship; especially not one as fickle as Mike’s where he hadn’t even thought of El romantically until his friends goaded him into it. Mike and El don’t even have the equivalent of Max and Lucas’ “I like talking to you” exchange.

Crushes fade. Mike doesn’t like El like that anymore but doesn’t know how to exit a relationship that has long run its course. Was Mike always in love with Will? One can’t really tell— not even Mike himself. Maybe he wasn’t in love with Will from the moment they met on the swingsets. But it’s undeniable that Mike loves Will and cares intensely for him. He puts Will above all of his other friends, he cherishes their bond like he does with no one else.

Also, admiration is a key part of romantic attraction. Mike’s only talking point about El is that she has superpowers, and El herself has never vocalised why she likes Mike. Meanwhile, we know that Mike deeply admires Will (his speech in the first season about Will’s bravery in the D&D campaign, his belief in Will’s ability to fight back the Mind Flayer, his treasury of Will’s art) And Will, of course, has made an entire painting and speech on his admiration for Mike.

And in such a friendship (Will and Mike’s friendship) are there the ingredients for romance to creep up on them both.

But if only Mike realised.

I think it"s cute and actually has some hints in canon that they could work!

Like I said in the other ask, I personally headcanon El as a lesbian, but if she isn't and if Elumax is not a thing, I will definitely ship Henderhop.

In S1, Dustin is the only one that is really, truly kind to El right off the bat, without question. And he treats her like a fun friend! He doesn't talk about her being a weapon as much as the other boys. The closes he comes is telling the bullies "she's our friend and she's CRAZY!!" (which is a great line, luv u dustybun!), which still sets it apart because he calls her their friend.

In S2, El is the one who gives Dustin the validation he needs! The whole season he's been wanting someone to make him feel good about himself and the new teeth that he's proud of. It's the first thing she notices!! She comments on it, and you can tell he's pleased.

In another, better timeline, she could have danced with Dustin at the Snow Ball. Maybe she would thought his Steve hair was bitchin'! I think their outfits would have been kind of matching, too? Meanwhile Mike and Will would've been happily sharing some punch and shared looks in the bleachers ❤️ Will would've said no to the girl and give the reason as Mike being the only one not dancing with a girl, so he would find a way to get them out of there to be alone.

Then in S3 you have the Weird.Al t-shirt Dustin wears, whereupon the design is Weird Al wearing a black and yellow shirt eerily similar to the one El wears in the Battle of Starcourt. Then she and Dustin have a shared look from the balcony.

In S4, Argyle makes sure to say "see this Weird Girl behind me?'

Weird Al/Weird El???

It's totally possible. The Duffers have laid even crazier Easter eggs and bad puns than this.

Conclusion: Henderhop could be really cute! Dustin treats El like a normal girl, which is exactly what she wants, and she accepts him for who he is and shares his enthusiasm for bright and eccentric things. She seems to be more emotionally intelligent and artsy and he is more STEM-oriented (though not quite fair to say, since she has been held back for a long time). I could see them getting into a relationship after being friends for a while, which is much healthier and lends itself to a stronger foundation than Melvin.
