STS time! tell me about a sedentary lifeform in your world! (plants, fungi, etc)

One of the most prominent plants in Anemoi culturally is the Popflower. It is used not only in bouquets, but also as dyes and ink that reacts to magic use. It is also used in medicine for those who suffer from specific and rare ailments that have to do with their magic turning on their body similar to an autoimmune disorder. The roots are used as a pungent food and the petals are also used for seasoning.

These pods can only grow in areas of high concentrations of magic. The only place they've been found growing is the mountains of Anemoi where a God was felled and fertilized the silty soil with his blood. It is hard to notice unless you lay within them, but popflowers radiate a bit of heat. This is enough to warm the mountains throughout the winter when north Anemoi hovers around 5c-0c

The popflower does not have an elaborate root system. It has a main tap root that is poor at sucking up water, but specialized towards sapping magic from the earth and just keeping it in place durring storms. Due to heavy and consistent Anemoian rains, they end up sapping most of their water needs through their petals and the rest through smaller roots by the surface.

Popflowers are the backbone to the survival of two other species, including the pop drake and the inland wyvern.

Popdrakes are small and hyper specialized to only eat popflowers. they came about at the same time as popflowers emerging from the mountains. They live among them, using their spines to blend in among the flowers. They give birth to live young who are independent from their mothers from their first moments.

They are often caught en-masse by humans to sell during festivals, skewered and either candied or roasted. they are extremely spicy due to a concentration of the same compounds that give popflowers their distinct flavour and moderate spice.

This spice does not deter the Inland wyvern however. These wyverns are actually a type of fish and are related to every other wyvern. Wyvern have the same skin/scale and lung systems as I Peshka, where as they can breathe air and water through a gill system in their throat. They mainly eat these popdrakes. They will stand still for hours, waiting for a popdrake to move. When one does, they will bend down to gobble it up in one quick movement. Their crests and throats glow due to the magic of the flowers being passed down the food chain reacting with what was once regular luminescence.

The more I think about it, the more romantic it is that Creature got Lisa Michael's dick. I imagine his thoughts as, "If that's the dick she wants, that's the dick she's gonna get" and then he went and got it for her. It's almost equivalent to coming home with a bouquet of flowers, just longer-lasting and more useful

I’m a little hung up on Odile’s “I’m curious to see how he reacts” line from the flower comic. That could be such a cute excuse for her doing sweet things for and with Siffrin while they’re looping. Because family! But also it could get serious and messed up as time goes on, because she detached enough to actually start doing things just to see how he reacts, and to investigate the loops. It’d be like a weird parallel to how Siffrin kept pushing the idea that even if their family forgot, those things still happened, and still mattered. But when Bonnie gets crushed they drop that mentality immediately. Think of the psych damage of Odile having that journey but it’s a methodical and active thing, instead of being all subconscious because of the horrors™. It’d be part unintentional; a consequence of any moment she and the family have with Siffrin being erased, and never recreated. It’d be partly repetition; she was saying that “curious to see how they react” shit for the bit, but like with Odile’s we’re-not-friends joke, it gets a little internalized. And those factors instill a mentality where she does start poking at Siffrin just to see what happens, tentatively justifying it with the fact he won’t remember. Only that gets pushed further and further, and it’s even easier to make herself push Siffrin too far, when stopping the loops is her justification. When she’s doing it for more serious reasons, the line could even change: “I’m curious to see how he reacts” -> “I need to see how he reacts”. Or something. I’m just saying words.

It's hard to go to the FULL EXTREME in her poking with the whole family to keep each other in check, but Odile becomes the least likely to go '!!!' if she accidentally messes something with siffrin. And when she learns Siffrin is most definitively tied to why they are looping? Oh, it is no longer a curiosity, she needs to study how he reacts to certain things. She goes out of her way to ask people to do certain little things to siffrin and call dibs on spending the day with them (*cough* questioning and testing siffrin *cough*)

Maybe in the past, he was like a therapy friend to Wukong, someone he could really be himself with, vent, and tell his secrets without being judged in the safety of his own dreams. Someone he can truly trust, and that was Macaque.

Now he's a therapy friend to the whole MK team! (Against his will) They cuddle, pet, and vent to him with their problems. He's like one of Sandy's therapy cats, just bigger and grumpier.😾💕✨ he just has this way with people I guess

Okay, this is how it starts: Macaque and Wukong's first encounter was in a dream.

Wukong would not shut up about the pretty demon in his crazy dreams, often to his sworn brothers; he talked about all the fun and crazy adventures he'd have, the long meaningful conversations and jokes, and the occasionally moving pictures of otherworldly strong magical humans with sparkly eyes and spiky hair who wield giant weapons that shoots Fire called anime, and that this had been going on for a few months now.

This annoyed and concerned them; they think it's a demon trying to take over the Monkey King's mind or trying to brainwash him somehow, so Azure Lion and the Sworn Brothers all brainstormed together to devise a plan to somehow confront this tricky dream demon. Wukong doesn't want the fun dreams to end or scare off this other celestial monkey, so he decides to talk to his friend in his dreams. Wukong casually brings up the idea that the macaque should visit Flower Fruit and meet his sworn brothers! Macaque of course hesitates, not sure of the idea of traveling to an unknown island and meeting The Monkey King's questionable choice of sworn brothers, but of course, Wukong, sad and a bit offended, but he doesn't give up.

He decides to bring upon the Ultimate Weapon, begging and whining until Macaque crumbles and gives in, which eventually does. Mac reluctantly agrees to travel over to FFM in disguise, just to be safe he tells Wukong he'll be there. Within a month, Wukong couldn't be more excited; he was like a little kid waiting for Christmas day!

So this is what kinds of powers I think he should have.

😴 the first pic is crossing over to other people's dreams and making their experience life-like he has illusion magic so this makes sense to me. Wukong and macaque would prank the Brotherhood or play tags and hide and seek in their brother's dreams. 🌸The second pic is the soothing ability to calm one's nerves if they pet or cuddle him like a therapy cat,🐈 Wukong would groom him for hours to calm his nerves. now come copes with food🍑🍔🍭

At the end of every dream Mac visits they would end it by dancing to music Mac would bring from the future laughing and stumbling while wukong slowly wakes up, wukong has always gone to bed early But now he goes even earlier to bed. Wukong always thought he was the luckiest monkey in the world he gets to have two Adventure and one of them is with his prettiest best friend Macaque 😚✨the monkey of his dreams.
