I have ideas for fun hallowmas outfits but art is hard. I'm loving all the great art people are making and I'm like... i wish I was better at art especially historical-y fashion design. Every time I try drawing them it just doesn't look right.

I may keep trying, I really want to do the Neath fashion collection too!! But my art skills are limited on getting stuff to look how I want. This is why I usually draw weird creatures instead

Which led me down a rabbit hole on varchas fashion which is a mess #I read some victorian costume books from the time and there's so many odd abstract concepts on there like. Saltwater and freshwater.#So her hollowmas look I wanted to do as just “Varchas”. And then fashion mag wise I wanted to look at Dutch fashion of the era #Mikhail is going as a tiger I think. Maybe the 7th coil she loves pop culture #Birdie would of course be a goose or swan. Enoch does not want to wear fancy dress. Can we make him be chess? A devil? Childhood Halloween Costumes

An incomplete list of my childhood Halloween costumes, in no particular order:

• Dracula / Stereotypical Classic Vampire

• Zombie Scarecrow (not sure exactly what I was going for for, or thinking, but it was a plaid flannel shirt and jeans, with some straw stuck in it and pale face makeup, IIRC)

• Barrel of Toxic Waste (yes, I stole this idea from Calvin & Hobbes, do not @ me. Black plastic garbage can turned upside town, with a slit for vision cut in it. Big, crude sign made out of yellow & black contact paper and adhesive black vinyl letters. A 'cap' on top made from a small plastic container lid, drizzled with that neon colored school glue that was briefly trendy)

• Entomologist (yes, I was one of those kids who liked bugs)

• Knight on Horseback (made from a pattern by my mom, with that kind of pantomime gag where my legs are the horse's hind legs, and the 'knight' has fake legs hanging off the waist)

• Star Trek TNG officer (store bought, red uniform)

• Jester (home made by my mom. Purple and cyan sort of harlequin thing. Not sure if this was used as a Halloween costume, or was actually left over from some school presentation on medieval times, but it's a miracle I remembered it, so it goes on the list anyway)

visiting Weird Barbie

OMG, did anyone else think Weird Barbie was the best? Like, Weird Barbie was such a moment for me. Weird Barbie's house was my favorite. And the iconic "Stairway to Weird Barbie" was ahhmazing! right??!

The designs, costumes and production in this movie was top tier. And I think it'll win awards for the costume designs for sure. Very much iconic!

Definitely one of my top 3 movies of 2023.
