The fatui were in every business meeting, party and get together to ever exist in teyvet. They need to be- after all becoming a powerhouse nation isn’t done by solitude and bad business partners. You see them at balls, wearing nice clothes with intimidating masks and smiles that barely hide threats to others.

And while the fatui has to be at every event that may hold some importance to their cause- a harbinger does not. So just your luck number four stands in front of you tonight.

She’s dressed in a way most women would never think to dress at an event like this. A sharp suit with crimson accents to make her already threatening demeanor almost horrifying, nothing a man wouldn’t wear but a woman wearing was unheard of.

Maybe that’s why when you had to stand next to her in the crowd (because nobody wants to stand next to the fatui), you didn’t immediately make some poor excuse to run away. It was interesting seeing somebody so powerful next to you, like a moth to a flame.

Maybe that’s why you let her make small talk to you. Why you let her pull you aside to a less crowded area to talk more. She was cold, but not closed off. It’s bad to talk to fatui (because everybody knows what happens when you say the wrong thing, or let something slip about your business adventure).But you couldn’t help it, she was so unique. Plus, the rich red wine she keep handing you after yours gets a little bit to low definitely helped eased some tension.

So maybe at the next ball when you see her, you greet her quietly (because anybody talking with the fatui is a social outcast for the rest of night) and stand a bit closer. Maybe that’s why at the next one, and the one after that, and for all the other ones your invited too- you talk with her through the night, letting her bring you more and more wine. And perhaps press a small kiss to your lips, staining your lips with that dark crimson that you’ve come to love.

And maybe when you finally return home, you don’t realize shes with you. As you stumble into your house, you don’t consider if talking to somebody so dangerous could be bad. And finally, as you tuck into bed, you don’t even think twice about the glimpses of a woman with an interesting outfit in the corner. And the harbingers don’t have to be at every event the fatui goes too, which is why she is here in your room (because the fatui never forget).

Kid Villains, pt 2.

Decided to post more kiddy villains, bit of a sequel to this. First up is Kitten, Mothman's bratty daughter from the 2003 teen titan cartoon:

Modeled her costume after the Rosy Maple Moth, while there are species of moths with the name kitten on them I figured she would prefer a pink outfit.

Thought it'd be kinda cool for her to be a villain for the batkids, she's already evil so why not. I don't imagine her to be all that talented at the job tho she would still be very dangerous if you underestimate her. I think she would work particularly well against Steph, being that Mothman started as a villain for Barbara (Cass might be too high level for her tbh).

Here's my Scarecrow's sidekick oc, I should probably name her something like Rag Doll or Raggedy Scream maybe? The three boys are oc's modeled after the Terrible Trio, criminals who commit crimes wearing animal masks. Their identities change a lot over continuities, so these kids are probably aspiring to be the next incarnation of this group.

Here's another random oc, a sidekick for White Rabbit (Jaina Hudson). Thought it'd be funny if it was just a kid in a silly rabbit suit, like what the kid wore in that movie, A Christmas Story. I'm not sure on what his personality should be. Maybe someone genuinely nice, a cheerful, polite boy who likes to hand people bombs (unintentionally dangerous) or maybe someone pretending to be nice but is actually malicious. Whatever's funnier I suppose.

Here's some characters inspired by the Super Friends enemies, the Super Foes. You'd see some of them return for the Robins 2021 mini, except for Toy Boy. Giggles and Guffaw are newer, only appearing in the mini.

I messed with their designs a bit to make them more unique looking. Honeysuckle for example was shown with either red or brown hair but I gave her a sorta dark maroon, thought it contrasted well with her green outfit. Honeysuckle btw, is older than the rest, and is more of an enemy to Dick and Barbara, tho her teenage self has no problem attacking the younger sibs.

Also Giggles and Guffaw might look a little similar to a certain anime starring a group of sextuplets, just being a little funny there. I gave these kids some made up names, mostly taken from whatever writer created them. Couple of them worked out pretty well actually, like Bridwell (well, spring, stream) and Estrada (Road).

This next one is a character from the 2004 cartoon The Batman, which I never actually watched but I did see commercials of. His name is Prank ( Donnie ?), a protege of the Joker. He wasn't evil enough to stick it out, but I gotta say I just loved his costume (esp how the jacket resembles Robins coat a bit). Made up a last name for him, just a random one from searching up famous clowns.

Being Barbara's peer, he's also more of a antagonist for the older kids, decided he and Honeysuckle should friends. I kinda want to use them as a sorta contrast to Babs and Dick, that could be fun to do. Also look at baby Dick, I don't draw him enough at this age.

Speaking of Barbara, I've been going back and forth between having her start out as either 12 or 16. All the other kids start out really young, so it makes sense for Babs to do so as well. But I kinda like the thought of her starting out much older, makes her more unique among the batkids (in pre-crisis she became Batgirl in like her 20s btw, cool huh?)

More various rivals for the kids to fight, excluding my oc Pink Rabbit, all of them more antagonists for the kids themselves rather sidekicks of the villains that Batman fights.

Here's some more proteges, Holly probably exists in this world, she's a bit too old for all this nonsense tho. Kitten is also a Super Foes member and was in Robins 2021 as well, she's been shown to be a sidekick to the Cheetah and Catwoman. Maybe she's just likes to attach herself to any cat-themed villain.

Crazy Quilt is more of an enemy to Robin than Batman, plus he has his own legacy in Crazy Quilt II, so obviously I had to include them. I wonder what name should I give the younger one, Duvet? Silly Blankie? idk

Lastly here's Earth 3(?) Jason Todd as Talon II paying a visit to the Training Wheels universe, seems like hes a bit of a crybaby. I don't think we've seen a earth 3 variant of Jason, so I'm just making up my own version of him. Wonder why he seems so nervous...

saw this lil guy bookin it across the parkin lot while i was waitin for a ride to take me home, i think he’s some kinda wooly caterpillar maybe? didn’t get a pic/video tbh but he was wigglin like one, and fast. i always thought caterpillars were slow! i was afraid to pick him up cuz i dunno if he mighta hurt me or i mighta hurt him if i did. my ride came before i saw him reach the other side of the parkin lot, really hope no cars squashed the poor guy n that he got to the grass safe

They can be quite fast when they get moving! It's a tiger moth caterpillar, but I couldn't say which one from this photo. Smart not to touch any caterpillar you can't ID, some of them sting. I bet they made it to the grass just fine!

If you can't/don't want to touch a bug, it's always okay to use a stick or a leaf or something to let them walk onto to move them somewhere safer :)

I think for every athf season I watch I'm gonna do a series of quick reviews for each episode. I like jotting down my final thoughts

Season 1

Rabbot- A pretty good pilot episode tbh, I really loved their dynamic here with Shake being so uppity about getting things done yet so uncaring at the same time and Frylock just kinda going with it. The shitty lipsyncing took a bit to get used to, but great start. Also HAHA HE SAID THE FUNNY DANCING IS FORBIDDEN LINE

Escape From Leprechaupolis- Fun concept. Didn’t get too attached to the leprechaun guys but Carl and Shake were especially funny, and Meatwad’s big sunshine and rainbows speech at the end had me holding back laughter.

Bus of the Undead- Wasn’t enthusiastic for this one. Not a fan of zombies, which is what usually comes to mind with “undead” but it was completely nonexistent vampires so that was a relief. Tangential rambling aside. the moth guy was cool and while I don’t remember too too much about this episode, I remember it getting some of the best laughs from me.

Mayhem of the Mooninites-

Ignignokt and Err’s debut in which they entirely destroy Meatwad’s morale and Frylock acts like a guardian to Meatwad, and really what more could I ask for? I love me some mama Frylock. And of course the stars of the show, the Mooninites, do not disappoint. Ignignokt has a whinier voice than I remembered, but I don’t mind because that homestly makes him even funnier, and Err has some really aggressive lines that caught me off guard in a good way(“GO BACK INSIDE! WE’RE FIGHTING!”). Fave moments have to be when they lazer Carl and when Meatwad tries to give “the finger” and just morphs into a hot dog. I was very giggly during this one.

Balloonenstein- Fun premise that just spirals out of control the further into the episode it goes. I like the first half where Meatwad has control of the whole household when he gets electricity from being spun around in the dryer. And the literal plothole that’s just a random massive vortex that shows up for plot convenience is honestly hilarious.

Space Conflict from Beyond Pluto- Favorite episode of the season, no contest. I was in tears by the end of it, my cheeks hurt from smiling too much, I was so amused throughout you don’t even know. Possibly the funniest fucking thing I’ve seen and I don’t even know why. The jokes just get thrown at you nonstop again and again and again and stellar vocal deliveries + terrible(/pos) character dynamics + stilted animation = just… perfection. Fave joke is definitely the running gag of all the buttons triggering balloons and confetti(“Did… Did we blow it up?” “YOU ARE TOYING WITH ME!”). I didn’t think the Mooninites would be outclassed by the Plutonians but here we are.

Ol’ Drippy- Was totally unsure what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. Ol’ Drippy was a super pleasant addition to our nice little list of characters, big fan of the entirely decent character hanging w the total dipshits trope and it's stellar here. Poor dude, I hope he returns for another episode one way or another. Yea, can you tell he steals the show this ep? Such a soothing voice too.

Revenge of the Mooninites- Hear me out but I think this is the worst of the "these aliens are stupid nuisances" episodes of the season. It's kind of just a retread of Mayhem; They come to earth for essentially no reason, take advantage of Meatwad, terrorize Carl, and run away after an anticlimactic showdown. I mean it's still good, like a solid 7/10 episode, not that I'm giving them number ratings, but not very original. I think I would have liked it more if this premise were saved for next season.

MC Pee Pants- Scared of spiders... a little freaky, but I honestly loved the premise of "giant spider coerces innocents to use their brain waves to drill a hole to the center of the earth for candy." it's as nonsensical as it sounds, and i don't have lots to say on it but it's good.

Dumber Dolls- Wasn't a huge fan. I don't have much of a reason, I just thought everything was done pretty average, and there weren't a lot of laughs. I dunno, I wasn't feeling this one.

Bad Replicant- The replica Shake is really goofy, definitely ringing a bell for Emory, which is funny because he's also here. They're kinda just... guys. And I love that. Plutonians are hilarious as always, got tons of laughs from everyone... Great episode.

Circus- I enjoy how many fuckass blob characters this show just throws in 😭 First the Plutonians, then Ol' Drippy, then Randy the Astonishing, today's new flavor of alien! I'm not even getting tired of the aliens, all of them are terrible in their own ways and it's great. Randy gets tons of laughs, and Shake in the circus was really funny.

Love Mummy- Weird premise I'm digging. I really love how absolutely none of these plots are tropey or already established episode archetypes, at most being something that seems tropey and then is totally flipped on its head(e.g. aliens come to earth... but only to corrupt the impressionable with drugs and crime. a biohazard mess becomes sentient... but the monster is friendly and does everyone's dirty work.). I do find the mummy grating after a certain point, but still for the most part fun.

Dumber Days- Now it starts to fall into trope territory, and I'm not even mad because I love this kind of episode. It's the Patrick Smartpants of the show, and I'm running out of things to compliment, dude... Funny!!! Go watch it damnit!!! Good show!!!

Interfection- Shake and Meatwad being total fucking nuisances 💖💖💖 They really did predict just how bad subscription models would get though... I thought Shake would be more internet savvy but him just clicking on ads like a grandma is really funny. The scene where Frylock is trying to retrieve Meatwad from the scene of ads is great.

PDA- The monster of the week format works so well for this show... This and the previous one especially feel like a cracked out version of Regular Show, they're more similar than I would have thought at first. I wonder if there was any inspo from this show. Love how Shake just gets the random ahh tar monster's PDA, and the actual tar pit tour scene was 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂... Enjoyed this one.

Mail-Order Bride- I wasn't big into the premise of this one. Kinda sucked, not a lot to say. It felt like it dragged on for a good ten minutes longer than it was.

Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future- The way the robot's story stretches on and on here is really funny, he just like me frfr(yapping). Everyone being so fucking done with him was great, and the twist at the end was really funny.

BEST TO WORST: Space Conflict from Beyond Pluto, Ol' Drippy, Bad Replicant, Mayhem of the Mooninites, Rabbot, Circus, Bus of the Undead, Interfection, PDA, Dumber Days, Balloonenstein, MC Pee Pants, Escape from Leprechaupolis, Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future, Love Mummy, Revenge of the Mooninites, Dumber Dolls, Mail-Order Bride

OVERALL: I thought I'd like the show, obviously... but I think I'm hooked. It's got its teeth into me for sure. The comedy isn't the lowbrow shit I expected from an adult animated comedy, and I'm hungry for what's next in S2!

I hadn't heard that, but it's not surprising given that Tom King wrote Batman for several years. It's clear that to some extent he's differentiating between Diana and Batman/Batfam, but here she's not as different from them as she'd probably like to believe. That could be interesting if she realizes it in an issue or two and it leads to some soul-searching, but I'm not feeling a ton of faith in that.

And it's in that weird awkward zone in which Digger gets the shit kicked out of him but is somehow not bloody and bruised. Not that I'm jonesing to see him hurt, but realistic consequences for the violence might better drive home how brutal this was.

It is weird, yeah. I guess it's possible he's allowed to be free in exchange for his silence (and maybe assistance), but I can't imagine that even Digger enjoys seeing his friends (or colleagues, if we're being pessimistic about his feelings for other people) depowered, imprisoned, and enslaved. I guess it's also possible he agrees with Waller's goals, but that seems less likely because she also wants to take down low-powered everyday villains like him.

Both Marvel and DC (but especially DC) go through their edgy phases, and it's honestly tiresome. But it's interesting, I did a quick google of some fan reviews of the issue at other sites and none of them expressed dismay over the torture or even had a problem with the way Digger was treated. It obviously wasn't an exhaustive search and maybe there are others who are upset, but maybe it's just us Digger/villain fans who are bothered :\

Starting Yet Another creative project to put together my own oracle deck since the one I have is... I mean, it's alright. But I don't really vibe with the art or the card meanings as well as I'd like to. So obviously,,,, I gotta make my own huh.

Details under the cut for length because I'm rambling to myself as I flesh this idea out

I'm using this pad of smallish scrapbooking paper to make the cards since it's a thicker cardstock (and it has nice colors). I figure I'll sketch out my designs and then paint over them since this paper can handle paint without being destroyed. Perhaps a junk journal theme using my large collection of stickers.............

Undecided if I want to cut the papers own in size at all, since one of my main problems is that the oracle deck I have now is hard to shuffle due to card size. Which is... also my problem with most oracle decks, tbh. Scraps would be used for other projects and things. Smaller pages would also be easier to fill, using less materials and encouraging overlapping things for a fuller look.

The other issue with oracle decks is that they just don't vibe. The imagery is usually nice and all, but the cards themselves don't depict things that actually matter to me and my practice. Even if the theme matters or I like the art, there's always That One Card I just don't care for.

Oracle decks, to me, are meant to provide guidance rather than answers. Advice for next steps, inner strengths to draw on, or energetic focuses to improve or deal with a situation. They add color, context, and flavor to readings done with other cards. This deck will be no different. My goal is to create an oracle deck that specializes in general guidance and actionable advice in a broad sense.

As for theme... I mean, it makes sense to center it around The Lady, right? The ideals and imagery I associate with Her would be a good starting place, at least. Maybe a combination of symbols I look for in nature (transitory signals between seasons and parts of seasons) and the Lady's direct symbols.

Snow Sky- she's playful but chill, if that makes sense. She's a Royal , so she really should have somewhat less simple clothes tbh. Her kingdom focused on light clothes, unlike most of Salha (light blues, purples, whites, mostly)

Path Changer - they like pastel colors and get cold easily since their home kingdom is closer to the equator.

Vizerxa - She's calm and calculating, wanting her clothes to be practical & easy to move in, and doesn't wear jewelry much. She overheats easily, so her jacket's the most extra layers she'll have bc she refuses to take it off. she prefers dark colors, and likes purple

Genesis - honestly would look for something easy to fight in & easy to wash blood out. They like reds & dark colors, and don't see a point for jewelry due to poor eyesight. they'd possibly wear a necklace they can fidget with, though

Videns - she mimics the people around her, so her outfit & behavior tend to have aspects of other people's. She also loves shiny things, but doesn't wear bracelets much since they start to get itchy on her wrists. She also does science a lot & loves mildly dangerous experiments, but also doesn't really. do caution.

Clara - Clara's really calm & quiet. she focuses on material the most. if something's soft, warm, and comfortable, she's happy lol. Also, she bakes a lot

Doomsday - Doomsday's suprisingly calm, and loves snakes. They're based on moths & snakes, so both appear in their design a lot (ex; snake tattoos). They tend to accidentally destroy things, so they don't like wearing expensive stuff. if something's cheap , shiny, and easy to replace, they'd like it though

Sidera - Sidera's chaotic and unpredictable, and honestly her main outfit's changed a lot through rewrites. She insists on always being barefoot though, and likes blue. especially if it matches her hair, bc that's Vizerxa's least favorite color

Exeveru- Exeveru's a Guard basically, so he also would want something practical & easy to work in. He does like wearing fancier clothes sometimes, since he's a royal, and really doesn't care much about gender norms. He's worn dresses before because they're comfortable

I have a special degree and passed what it's called "bar exam". I work at my own office with a couple of other attorneys and lawyers but I don't have a boss since it's my own office. Even if it doesn't look like it, it can be a tough job.

Oh, I really understand that feeling. Poor little puppy. I find you quite amusing, if you ask me. I feel like it's easy to understand each other. You're not a boring or ordinary guy. In fact, you're probably the only guy I would let beat the shit out of me even when I'm a huge dude.

I grew up as weird but I had a lot of friends since I was a pretty calm and "easy to approach" type of guy. But I felt like I could never be myself with others. I often wonder how I ended up being this logical because when I was a child it was all the other way around; I remember keeping roadkills I found or burying them on my backyard because it made me sad to see them laying like that in their own blood and organs. I still feel that way, though, just that I try not to do that kind of things anymore. I am a huge lepidopterology nerd and I have a lot of pinned insects (or even arachnids) hanging on my walls because I think they're really beautiful and deserve to be admired. I think my childhood was rather tragic instead of completely abusive, since it was marked by poverty and sickness. My mom passed away when I was fifteen and I left home. I don't have any known siblings. Were you an only child?

OK first the butterfly teapot is really cute and an interesting shape! It is cartoony enough that it doesn't set off my phobia of moths and butterflies so bonus points for that. I've seen various book teapots and I think they're really cute! The camel teapot is pretty cool and not something you'd expect to see a teapot of so I think it's pretty neat!

The frog teapot looks like an oracle that knows all of my secrets and is really smug about it. I find her lips unsettling. Keep my secrets sealed behind them, please. The elephant is really cute! I like the cracked glaze look; it adds character!

The books and teacup teapot is really cute but the idea of liquids on top of my books stresses me out. The rotund cat teapot is just. SO round. Impressively round. Blessed creature. The giraffe looks like a kettle rather than a teapot but it's super cute and I rate kettles too. I wonder about the little green bit does it add to the sound the kettle makes?

The black cat one... cursed tbh XD because usually cat teapots have the spout either be the mouth or a paw but this one just sticks out of this poor cat's chest like some sort of growth.
