Starting Yet Another creative project to put together my own oracle deck since the one I have is... I mean, it's alright. But I don't really vibe with the art or the card meanings as well as I'd like to. So obviously,,,, I gotta make my own huh.
Details under the cut for length because I'm rambling to myself as I flesh this idea out
I'm using this pad of smallish scrapbooking paper to make the cards since it's a thicker cardstock (and it has nice colors). I figure I'll sketch out my designs and then paint over them since this paper can handle paint without being destroyed. Perhaps a junk journal theme using my large collection of stickers.............
Undecided if I want to cut the papers own in size at all, since one of my main problems is that the oracle deck I have now is hard to shuffle due to card size. Which is... also my problem with most oracle decks, tbh. Scraps would be used for other projects and things. Smaller pages would also be easier to fill, using less materials and encouraging overlapping things for a fuller look.
The other issue with oracle decks is that they just don't vibe. The imagery is usually nice and all, but the cards themselves don't depict things that actually matter to me and my practice. Even if the theme matters or I like the art, there's always That One Card I just don't care for.
Oracle decks, to me, are meant to provide guidance rather than answers. Advice for next steps, inner strengths to draw on, or energetic focuses to improve or deal with a situation. They add color, context, and flavor to readings done with other cards. This deck will be no different. My goal is to create an oracle deck that specializes in general guidance and actionable advice in a broad sense.
As for theme... I mean, it makes sense to center it around The Lady, right? The ideals and imagery I associate with Her would be a good starting place, at least. Maybe a combination of symbols I look for in nature (transitory signals between seasons and parts of seasons) and the Lady's direct symbols.
A list of meanings......
The Lady - Fate as a force, the larger whole, direct message coming through
Yarn - Connections, weaving
Knots - Tying, making connections, fixed moments
Crossroads - Choices, split paths
Death - Change, endings
Mushrooms - Decay, afterlife, resilience
Bread - Creation, rising, hearth
Pen - Writing, creativity, keeping records
Book - History, learning, stories
Paint - Art, inspiration
Key - Opening doors, opportunity, answers
Lock - Secrets, blocked path, challenge, questions
Door - Passage, transition
Sea - Depth, tides, deep knowledge, mystery, movement (eternal)
River - Movement (fast), travel, change
Butterfly - Transformation, transition, trust, day
Moth - Transformation, transition, faith, night
Stars - Dreams, hope, wishes, stories
Void - Space, nothingness, in-between
Moon - Phases, visions, seeing in the dark
Clover - Luck, good fortune
Broken mirror - Bad luck, poor chances, mistakes
Dice - Chance, gambling, games
Playing cards (poker?) - Games, deception, skill
Spider/webs - Trap, sticky, pattern, weaving
Tarot - Divination, the future, advice
Seeds - Potential, sowing
Flowers - Growth, beauty, production, fleeting
Grave/headstone - Death, grief, memory
Candle - Ritual, altar
Lighthouse - Beacon, signs, lookout
Eyes - Knowing, seeing
Ghosts - Afterlife, spirits
Bees - Industry, teamwork
Sunrise/sunset - Beginnings, endings (the only reversible card?)
Leaves (different colors) - Changing seasons, time passing
......and probably more as I start putting these dang things together. Once they're finished, these cards will replace the ones I currently use for add-ons in paid readings. I'm looking forward to making these!!

kinktober. you walk in on them relieving stress
early relationship, explicit content (18+ only), smutty
wriothesley, neuvillette, pantalone, ayato
Tumblr media
Wriothesley
The duke was relaxing on his couch in the living room, a glass of whiskey mixed with fonta on the fancy glass coffee table next to him. His expression was one of bliss, and he was letting out silent grunts while his hand was moving quickly between his thighs. He was not naked; all he had to do was unbutton his trousers and he was feeling extremely comfortable.
You entered the living room, but unlike your boyfriend’s calculations, you arrived a tad bit earlier than usual. He was just going to finish his quite lustful leisure to blow off some steam since his job was hell of stressful. When you came into the room and saw the glass of whiskey you did not quite expect to see your boyfriend doing that. Wriothesley is passionate in bed with you, but he always keeps his desires and emotions in check. Seeing him sprawled out on the sofa and jacking himself to the leakage made you quite perplexed immediately. You could not say that you were not aroused at this so private sight of your man. You decided to simply watch, more so it would be rude to not let him get a release he worked so hard on.
“Baby… I’m coming—I’m coming!” you could swear you heard your man whimper, but hell did he know you were standing right behind the sofa bed, staring at him fisting himself with rapid pace.
Upon Wriothesley releasing, you hugged him from behind, your mouth to his ear, gently grazing against his skin.
“Fuck—archons! You were looking!”
“I couldn't deny myself.”
Wriothesley turns to face you.
“You tease. I wanted to offer you a romantic evening tonight, but since you already saw me embarrassed… We should skip dinner and go instantly to the best”, he smooches you, pulling you onto the sofa lazily, “part.”
Neuvillette
Neuvillette wasn't exactly a lustful man and he didn't indulge sex too often, but one specific day he turned out to be extremely horny. His body was just boiling, it wanted to feel your touch, it wanted you. Though you were in your appartment and he felt most lonely. To call you and say that he wanted some intimacy for tonight in his opinion would sound improper. Instead Neuvillette chose to suffer by himself. He was lying on his sofa in the living room, a thick book rejected on the coffee table as he was palming himself quite eagerly. Rare moans would escape his lips to the vulgar thoughts of you.
And there it was — a knock in the door. Neuvillette almost fell from the sofa, but ultimately gathered himself, pulled his trousers back and went to open the door.
“Hi, I’m sorry it must be an improper of me to come so late. I just got into the rain and… you know, your house is much closer to the court than mine… I’m so sorry again, monsieur.”
Neuvillette stared at you with widened eyes.
“Of—of course, my dear. Why don’t you come in? I must say I wasn't expecting guests tonight but—I-I assure you you’re most welcome here at any time.”
The nervousness betrayed Neuvillette and you saw one button of his trousers undone, altogether with his white shirt.
“Forgive me. I was just going to take a shower.”
“I’m sorry once again, I hope I didn't ruin the evening for you.”
“Goodness no. Not in the slightest.” Relieved, he walks you to the kitchen. “Please, you must be hungry. And cold.” He touched your shoulders, your coat was indeed soaked. “Allow me to take it off for you and please do help yourself to some tea. My butler just prepared some for himself but most certainly forgot about it. Here, I’ll fill the cup for you…”
Even though Neuvillette was acting incredibly strange and if you could say lewd, he put lots of efforts to remain a perfect gentleman in your eyes, and that warmed your heart to enormous extent.
Pantalone
With his head thrown back and his Adam apple moving as he breathes heavily, Pantalone is lying in the softness of his own king-sized bed, a lovely evening behind the curtains. He is quite sure that you’re still downstairs giving orders here and there to his cook and the butler while he is talking his time to relax. He went completely mad seeing you in the new outfit today; and even though it was formal, perhaps it was about your charm and charisma that drew him insane so badly. After all, you were not at all a stranger to him, and seeing his girlfriend looking with such finesse and uniqueness of taste just brought Pantalone to the state of a lustful fool who was doing that in his own bedroom.
“F-fuck—for God’s sake—” he breathes in and out but it doesn't help much. His eyebrows are furrowed and his face muscles strained. He didn't want you to see that big damn bulge in his black trousers (that did not help him at all). It was an offence. It was extremely embarrassing for him. He couldn't let you see how much lust he was holding inside. He didn't want you to feel that he only wanted you for that outfit! But he didn't know that he’d be only embarrassed more when you entered the bedroom.
Lucky for him the lights were off and you didn't see what exactly he was doing, however the suggestion was on the surface. Pantalone quickly steadied his frail hands and looked to the side, giving you a most grave, serious expression.
“I’m coming for dinner soon. Just need to finish some…” he clears his throat, “business calls.”
You smile sincerely. Lucky for the two of you, you pretended like nothing happened. You didn't mind him jacking off, not at all, but you also wanted to let him believe that his act was spotless.
“Hope they won’t keep you late too much, Lone. I’ll be waiting downstairs darling.”
Ayato
You were just passing through his office door when you pushed it open and see your boyfriend on his chair, turned to the window, not a single piece of him seen. Your gaze falls on his desk where a half empty tissue box is placed. He abruptly turns on his leather office chair and almost jumps seeing you. His thin hands move quickly to pull the boxers up, though he does not have time to clasp his belt.
“What are you doing here? Why didn't you knock?”
“You are quiet. Impressive”, you could not do without your cocky smile, you just had to tease this smooth old bachelor who was being extra naughty in his own office.
Ayato finally does his trousers back and adjusts his tie. He coughs in his hand, but the flushed cheeks and his veiny hands betray his sleek façade.
“Don’t do that ever again.”
“Don’t jack off in your office when it’s unlocked. Anyone could barge in, darling.”
His face grows pale and he nervously wipes the sweat off his forehead.
“Goodness—was it—unlocked?”
You smile, thinking there’s nothing else needed to be said.
“Actually Kamisato Ayato, you are so lucky to have me so polite a girlfriend, otherwise you’d get yourself in a situation”, you stop, a dreamy expression on your face while poor Ayato grips the edge of the desk until his knuckles turn white. “And hopefully, you were thinking of me.”
“It was you. Your ass. Those—god damn tight skirts you wear”, he sighs, calming himself with each second more and more returning to the familiar gentleman-like behaviour. “You wanted to talk, I presume? My break has just finished. You’re late. We’ll talk home.”
“Why, you want to get rid of me so badly. Let’s see if we do continue our conversation later. In the bedroom. ” You leave his office with a proud smirk that is difficult to contain.

Never too late.
A/N: I hope you enjoy!! I have not proofread this so i apologise in advance!! 💕💕
Summary: Tom messed up a long time ago but can he fix it?
Warnings: Swearing.
W/C: 4.2K.
When Isabelle had asked you to be her maid of honour you took the role immediately, wanting to be there for your best friend. It wasn’t until a few days later that you realised who you may have to interact with throughout the planning and on the day. You were currently getting coffee with Isabelle when the question slipped from your mouth, you hadn’t meant to spoil the atmosphere as you discussed flower arrangements.
“So, um, who did Haz pick as best man?” The question came out before you could stop it. Isabelle carefully placed her coffee down and looked at you with a sad smile.
“I was gonna tell you Y/N/N, I’m sorry.” She said, confirming that it was indeed the man you’d hoped it wasn’t.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.” You apologised, guilt settling in your stomach as she reached over and took your hand in hers.
“No, I should have said. I just, well I don’t know, it’s been what? Three years? I thought you’d have gotten over it, no offence.”
“We never had closure, we just argued and that was it. We haven’t spoken since.” You shrugged and Isabelle smiled sadly again.
“Did you want it? Closure?”
“Not at first but then every time I saw him afterwards just brought it all back up, brought up how much I loved him and how much it hurt when we ended things.” You said as you bit your lip, sadness now settling in your chest. It wasn’t often you spoke about Tom, you couldn’t, every time it would make you cry and you could never explain why.
“Y/N?” Isabelle asked quietly and you looked at her, telling her to continue. “Are you? Do you still have feelings for him?” She asked and you shrugged before finishing your now luke warm beverage.
“I don’t think so, like you say it’s been three years. I’ve always put it down to not getting closure.”
“Maybe talk to him? This would be a good opportunity, you’re going to have to see each other a lot.” She suggested and you shook your head.
“No, after the way we left things, I’m not sure that’d be a good idea. I’m not doing anything to ruin your big day, I’ll be civil, I promise.”
**
You were meeting Haz and Isabelle for a meal to discuss how they wanted the day to go, making your way into the restaurant. You knew he’d be there and you were already prepared for your mind to throw you back to that night but of course all the preparation meant nothing when your eyes fell on him. Your heart twisting as you swallowed thickly and made your way to the table, doing your best to stay composed and civil.
You’d seen Tom several times after the break up, you ran in the same circles, same friends and your respective best friends were getting married. You’d seen him but always managed to avoid him, this time you couldn’t. You exchanged pleasantries and sat down, zoning out as your mind wandered back to that night.
“You’re such a fucking dick Tom.” You huffed as you shut the door to your flat. Tom making his way into the living room.
“I’m here aren’t I?” He fired back, irritated, you’d already argued over text.
“After having to be reminded yeah.” You said and he rounded on you, eyes holding anger towards you.
“I forgot okay? I’m a human being. It’s perfectly human to forget things.” He snapped back. You wish he hadn’t come over now, wish you hadn’t have reminded him of your movie night you’d planned.
“This is the third date you’ve forgotten.” You pointed out and he huffed as he rolled his eyes.
“I’m busy, you know that.”
“So am I and I still turn up to things we’ve planned. Believe it or not Tom, I actually remember I’m in a relationship.” You said as you stormed past him and into your living room.
“Can you just drop it? I’m tired and I’ve had a long day, I’m here now.” He said following after you.
“Sure. I’ll drop it, I’ll just bring it up next time yeah?” You shouted and his nostrils flared as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Stop being so difficult.”
“Difficult? Me? You’re the one who’s seemingly unavailable all the fucking time.”
“That’s not true. I make time for you.” Tom snapped out as he ran a hand through his hair.
“Bullshit. You used to, I’ll give you that but recently? It’s like you’d rather be anywhere else but here.” It was true that in the last month you’d hardly seen him.
“Maybe I do want to be elsewhere.” He shouted and your stomach dropped a little, it was different hearing it confirmed.
“What?” You asked a slight sadness to your voice but he was too angry to notice.
“You heard. You’re so needy and fucking irritating at the minute. It doesn’t matter what I do, you start a fight anyway.” He ranted and your heart stopped. Needy? Irritating?
“Well you’re hardly Mr fucking perfect.”
“You’re right I’m not. I’m fucking human. I know you want me to be this man who does nothing but put you first all the goddam time but that’s not always how situations work Y/N. I have a life outside of this relationship.”
“Yeah I get that, I do. But fuck Tom, I ask for one night of your time and you forget. Or is that even true? Is that you forgot or you just can’t be bothered?”
“You’re ridiculous. You know what? I don’t know if I can do this anymore?” What?
“What?”
“This, us. All we do is fight, I can’t do a single fucking thing that makes you happy. God damn Y/N, last week you got angry with me because I arrived a few hours later than I was supposed to. I would’ve understood had it not been for the fact that I got held up, my flight got delayed.”
“All you had to do was text, that’s all I wanted.” You said, sadness settling in your chest whereas Tom just seemed angry at the situation.
“I did! That’s why I was so fucking pissed off, it’s not my fault you never received it. What else could I have done?”
“Maybe you’re right.” You said.
“What?” Tom snapped out and you let your eyes brim with tears.
“Get out Tom.” You said.
“So I come over to get kicked straight back out, well fan fucking tastic.” He snapped with another roll of his eyes.
“No, I mean get out and don’t come back.” You said and Tom’s face fell.
“Wait, Y/N/N, are you,”
“Yeah,” you interrupted. “This isn’t working anymore, you’re right. Now can you please just leave?” You snapped as you looked at him, he looked at you hesitantly as if he was about to say something but he never did. He composed himself as huffed as he left with a slam of your flat door.
You’d always wondered what he was going to say, you knew he was going to. Maybe that’s why you found it so hard when you saw him, that wonder about what he would have said, would it have changed anything? Was he going to say something nasty, something to try and fix it? You never contacted one another afterwards, returning each other’s belongings through Isabelle and Harrison.
“Y/N/N?” Harrison asked as he waved his hand in front of your face, pulling you from your thoughts as you looked at him. “You okay?”
“Yeah, sorry. Long day.” You said, you could feel Tom’s eyes on you but couldn’t bring yourself to look at him.
“So, wedding guests.” Haz continued as he clapped his hands together. “You guys are gonna spend most of the day together.” He said as he gestured between you and Tom.
“If that’s okay?” Isabelle added as she looked at you with concern.
“Of course, it’s your wedding day.” You smiled as you tried to ignore the pounding in your head at the thought of having to spend an entire day interacting with the man across from you.
“Brilliant.” Harrison said, he knew you and Tom had ended on bad terms but probably assumed you’d both gotten over it. You wondered deep down if you had.
The dinner flew by and you couldn’t have rushed off to your house soon enough. Wanting to leave behind the awkward tension between you and Tom, maybe this was going to be harder than you first thought.
**
It was the day of the wedding and excitement was bubbling around the church. You were all made up in your bridesmaid dress, hair pulled up into an intricate style as you watched Isabelle pull on her wedding dress.
“You look beautiful.” You gasped as you handed her the bouquet of flowers. “If Haz doesn’t cry I think I might snatch you up for myself.” You joked and Isabelle smiled shyly. Her hair was pulled up into a bun, pins with diamonds twinkling under the lights, beautiful white wedding dress that fell elegantly around the floor.
“I’m nervous.” She admitted as she squeezed your hand.
“Don’t be. Harrison loves you, you’re gonna be so happy.” You said as you squeezed her hands back. A knock pulling you from your moment. It wasn’t long before Isabelle’s dad made an appearance, stopping as he saw his daughter.
“You look, oh my goodness, you look beautiful.” He said in awe as he embraced her, wiping at his eyes that were now full of tears.
“Thank you dad.”
“That boy has no idea how lucky he is.”
You followed her to the alter, her hand firmly grasping her father’s forearm as they linked arms. You were behind her as you made your way up the aisle, you couldn’t stop your eyes drifting to Tom and you watched as his widened, he was already looking at you. Harrison and Isabelle had made the decision to have the dress rehearsal but keep everyone’s attire a secret for the day, Tom hadn’t seen you in your bridesmaid dress.
The ceremony was beautiful, Harrison cried, well almost everyone cried as they watched the loving couple say their ‘I do’s’ and share their first kiss as a married couple. They made their way down the alter and you let out a shaky breath as Tom approached you, offering his arm out for you to take. You looped your arm through his as you plastered possibly the fakest smile you’d ever given.
“You look beautiful.” You heard Tom’s voice and you looked at him as you continued to follow Harrison and Isabelle. All bridesmaids now having been paired up with another of the groomsmen. Of course you and Tom had to pair up being in the positions you were.
“Thank you.” You said as you bit your lip and he gave you a small smile. You’d always been able to read Tom, always had a connection with him that was unexplainable. He seemed almost sad. He wasn’t giving off his usual vibe, not that anyone else would notice, he really is a good actor, just not good enough to fool you.
The lunch had gone really well, no hiccups, everything ran smoothly. The décor looked amazing, blue and white flowers decorating the table in beautiful glass vases in the middle of each table. You were sat next to Tom, making conversation with Tuwaine who was placed at your other side. The room falling into silence as the speeches started. Harrison’s was beautiful, Isabelle’s father’s just as much and now it was Tom’s turn. You wiped at your eye, the speeches having been so beautiful they’d brought tears to your eyes.
“I’m very happy to be here today and share this happy couples day with all of you. I am beyond grateful that you asked me to be such a huge part of it Harrison, being your best man has been and always will be an honour.” Tom started and Harrison smiled up at him.
“You just have to promise I’ll be your best man.” Harrison teased and Tom breathed out a laugh.
“Done. Your wife looks incredible I want to add, such a beautiful couple. I’ve known Harrison since we were kids and I let me tell you, I have an incredible amount of embarrassing stories involving this young man. Like the time he got so excited when we went bowling that he fell onto the alley, got a strike but of course it didn’t count. Or the time he got so angry playing golf that he threw a club at the floor and almost knocked himself out when it bounced back up.” Tom said which pulled a laugh from the room.
It did a strange thing to you, you were there that day he almost hit himself on the golf course, god knows how he’d done it. The memory of you and Tom laughing as Tom had his arms locked around your waist, you shook your head from the thoughts.
“I could go on but I’ll save his dignity.” Tom teased as Harrison flipped him off, Tom read the paper in his hands before stuffing it back into his pocket, you assumed he’d almost finished.
“I’ve always been jealous of Harrison in a way. He found something good and he kept hold of it, he fought for it and made sure he kept it. These guys have been through some tough times, they truly have and they’ve both seen the other side of it. Harrison has always been better than me when it comes to admitting fault, taking responsibility for his actions, something I’ve never been good at. Watching these two and how in love they are with each other has made me really think about myself as a person and all the stupid things I’ve done in life, the things I’ve lost through my own stubbornness. You really have taught me a lot about love and soulmates, I’m just glad you didn’t make the same mistake I did.” Tom said and you found yourself staring at him, as if he was the only person in the room.
Your eyes met Isabelle’s and she looked just as blown away as you did, Harrison looking up at his best friend with a knowing look. Tuwaine leant over and placed a handkerchief in your hand.
“Here, you’re gonna smudge your makeup.” He said and it only just occurred to you that you were crying, more than you had at any of the other speeches. Was he talking about you? You doubted it, he’s had plenty of girlfriends in the three years since you’d split. You only half listened as Tom finished his speech as he sat back down next to you, the room applauding him as they fell into their own conversations.
“That was,” you said as you cleared your throat. “That was really beautiful Tom.”
“Thank you.”
**
The wedding party continued on, it was now the evening do, the night drawing closer to the first dance, the last interaction you had to have with Tom and you felt nervous. The tension between the two of you thick after his speech, you weren’t sure if he felt it too and you had got it al wrong. Maybe you just wished he was talking about you, he clearly was referring to someone.
Tom took your hand in his as you joined the married couple in the first dance. Couples slowly joining as Tom placed his hands on your waist and you placed yours on his shoulders. To say you weren’t an actor you were doing well at hiding your feelings.
“You really do look beautiful.” Tom said, eyes finding yours.
“Thank you. You’re speech really was beautiful.” You always were one to give credit where it was due. He shrugged.
“Thanks, I read it online somewhere, I’m no good at writing that soppy shit.” He laughed and you breathed out a laugh. Oh.
It wasn’t long before you finished, Tom leaving you instantly and you missed being in his arms instantly. He disappeared most of the night, you only catching glimpses of him every so often.
“Y/N, you look beautiful.” Sam said as he joined you on the dancefloor.
“Thanks Sam.” You’d not seen him in a long time.
“How’d you like Tom’s speech?” He asked and you furrowed your brows, why was he asking you that?
“It was beautiful.” You admitted and Sam smiled.
“Yeah, I helped him write that.” He admitted. What?
“He said he got help online.” You said utterly confused.
“That’s bullshit.” Sam laughed. “I helped him write that whole thing. That part about being jealous of Harrison? Not what I helped him write, that was completely off script.” Sam said and you stopped your dancing as you looked at him.
“What?”
“Oh come on, that was completely pulled from his heart. You know Tom, that was completely unscripted.”
“Yeah, but he’s had a lot of girlfriends, why would I care?” You said and Sam burst into a fit of laughter at that.
“I thought you knew?” Sam said and you looked at him seriously.
“Knew what?”
“About Tom? About what happened on the stag do?” He said matching your seriousness.
“No?” You fished and Sam huffed.
“He was hammered okay. But he got all emotional and said some stuff about you.” Sam admitted and your furrow deepened.
“What did he say?”
“He regrets the way things ended. Regrets letting you go, said he wished he’d have stayed, told you how much you meant to him. Fought for you. Y/N, he was thinking about asking you to marry him.” Sam continued and your eyes blew wide at that.
“We were twenty-two Sam.” You said and he shrugged.
“We said that but he said it was irrelevant, he knew he’d found his person in you. He said he doesn’t think he’ll ever love anyone like he loved you, he’s tried.” Sam informed you. “I honestly thought someone had told you.” He said as he took in your shocked state.
“No.” You squeaked out.
“Y/N, he’s my brother and trust me, he’s an idiot at the best of times. But I know he loves you, it shocked all of us when he turned into an emotional mess over a relationship that ended three years ago. I think seeing you and the whole wedding put a lot into perspective for him.”
“But why now?” You asked and Sam looked at you seriously.
“Y/N, I think he realises this could have been your wedding. You were both young and stubborn and I stand by that fact but if things had turned out differently. If he’d stayed that night this could have been you and I think he’s realised that.” Sam said as he brought a hand to your cheek and wiped your tears out of your eyes. “Go find him. Talk to him.” He said and you realised you had to, after that revelation you had to. You owed it to the both of you.
“Thanks Sam.”
**
Half an hour it took you to find him, half an hour of running around looking for him until you eventually found the curly haired boy. He was on the roof, sat on the edge, looking out over the grounds of the manor house Harrison had booked for the wedding night. You had a room booked along with most of the guests.
Your heart was pounding as you let the door shut and your palms felt sweaty but your heart felt lifted at Sam’s revelation.
“I’m not so sure the best man is supposed to disappear.” You said and Tom snapped his head to look at you as you approached. Holding out a hand for you to take as you very carefully placed yourself next to him. The view was breathtaking, he’d always found comfort in the countryside, a complete juxtaposition to his life in cities.
“Probably not but I don’t think Haz will notice. I am planning on going back, just needed a breather.”
“Are you okay?” You asked seriously, you noted his slightly dampened mood all day.
“I never could get past you could I?” He asked with a breathy laugh.
“Nope.” You laughed in return and he smiled at you.
“Just thinking.” He admitted and you hummed.
“I spoke to Sam.” You said after a while and Tom sighed as his ran a hand through his hair.
“Figured it’d be him that told you. How much did he tell you?” Tom asked and you looked at him, admiring how beautiful he was and he really was, always had been.
“Everything, well I assume so. Is it true?” You asked and Tom looked back at you.
“Which part?”
“About the proposal thing?”
“Yeah.” He admitted and you furrowed your brows.
“Why’d you never come back? Say something?” You asked and Tom sighed.
“Because I was a fucking stupid child that’s why. Completely fucked up my chances with you.” Tom said and you nodded slightly in agreement with him, you weren’t blameless.
“Maybe not completely.” You said and Tom’s eyes widened.
“You mean?”
“I don’t think I ever really stopped loving you. I always thought it was closure I needed and then Sam said wat he said and I realised it was everything I wanted to hear. I tried to find the same connection with other men but I just couldn’t and I wondered if it was because I wanted closure with you. It took me until today to realise that deep down it was actually just you I wanted.” You said as a tear slipped from Tom’s eye and you were quick to catch it.
“I’ve never found that connection either. God, fuck, I’ve never loved anyone like I love you.” He said your heart soared.
“Still?” You asked and he nodded. “Me too.” You admitted and he smiled.
“I don’t deserve you.”
“You do. We deserve to be happy in life Tom and you made me so happy. The happiest I’d ever been.” You said. “I was difficult because I was so scared, scared that you’d leave me, find someone else. You got this whole knew life, you were Spiderman, meeting models, all these women I couldn’t compete with.”
“You were never in competition. It doesn’t matter how many other women I met, they were never you, they could never be you. They didn’t understand me like you did. Y/N, there was and is never gonna be anyone else like you.” You were both crying now, happiness surrounding you.
“What were you gonna say? That night?” You needed to know.
“I was about to get on my knees and fucking beg you to let me stay. My stubbornness got in the way, I thought you could do better, have someone who was there for you all the time. Someone who didn’t forget dates and keep you waiting.” He admitted before he continued. “But if I ever got a do over in life that’s where I’d go, I’d get on my knees and beg you to let me stay, let me keep you.”
“Oh Tom.” You sighed out and he smiled shyly as you leant your forehead against his.
“I should have tried, should have fought for you but I was an idiot. I didn’t realise how much so until it was too late.”
“It’s never too late Tom.”
“I hope not because I want you Y/N, I want you back.”
“Kiss me.” You practically begged and he complied, his lips finding your own. His arms slipped around your waist as he pulled you flush against him. Your hands finding his hair as you threaded your fingers though it. The kiss was sweet but fiery, a kiss of two lovers reuniting as he pulled away and his lips found your neck as he kissed it, you moved your head to give him more access.
“I love you.” He said as he peppered his kisses back up to your lips.
“I love you Tom.” You returned as you deepened the kiss. Missing the way he felt, loving the way you molded against him and the amount of passion behind the kiss, something you’d not experienced in almost three years. No man had ever ignited you the way Tom did.
“Oi, oi! I fucking knew it.” You heard screamed from far below you as you both pulled apart and looked down at Harrison. He was outside smoking a cigarette and he’d obviously caught you both.
“Piss off.” Tom laughed back down as you placed your head on his chest and laughed.
“Izzy, baby, we don’t have to pull that bullshit about double booked rooms, you can let your cousin know there’s a free room.” Harrison shouted in his wife’s direction and you and Tom laughed.
“Wanna go back in princess?” Tom asked and you nodded as he stood before making sure you got up safely. “I owe you a proper dance.”

Heh. So. That fucking fic.
I actively tried to forget about it, so the following is to ba taken with a grain of salt. (As if I'm not already the entire "Salt treasury estate" (literal translation of an actual region in my country) about this entire thing LOL)
[Long af rant incoming, prepare for impact]
The fic uses the title of a popular song of the most famous Austrian musician of modern times and then doesn't even mention him or have this song be a plot point. Or even have it being played ON THE RADIO or at the PARTY/EVENT where the two characters met again. (Maybe I was miffed especially because I was intensely preoccupying myself with him during that time, but still, it felt disrespectful af)
The characterisations were just utterly atrocious in the first place, and all the time I was just like "who tf ARE these people?" and "couldn't you just have written a shitty OC instead of bashing a character other people love?" and "the way you have written that character, that they would do this right now doesn't even make any sense AT ALL"
The biggest beef I had with that thing was, indeed, the fucking "Coffeehouseculture", or rather, the blatant misrepresentation of it.
Yes, the forever grumpy Viennese person, and the even grumpier headwaiter is a bit of a memetic mutation of sorts, and while TECHNICALLY still true, this only applies to the first one, not the second. UNLESS you set the fic in anywhere between ~18?? and ~1990-2000. This fic was NOT set in this timeframe.
The rude headwaiter of a coffeehouse is generally one of the bigger inside-jokes of the city, along with the general penchant for a drink (if not flat-out alcoholism) and making jokes about dying.
The thing is this: while we have A LOT of international students and people from all over the world coming here for work and life, absolutely no foreigner would act this way. And the character who got the role of the rude headwaiter, WAS a foreigner, if not outright stated (no srsly, I forgot because I mostly also only skim-read it using CTRL+F), then at least by Viennese terms of this character being termed Irish in most Modern AUs.
Bruh, I don't say this with pride, but we manage to be xenophobic to people who live (and were BORN) in the same country as us. Even between different villages in the SAME federal state, not to speak of different federal states, there's sometimes disgustingly derisive and mean jokes. Sure, it's not as if there'd be actual hate-criming around, but still, is that really necessary? At least it starts to get less and less of a thing, so there's hope to be had.
Back to the actual coffeehoseculture, there IS this: you can chill out there the entire day and read the newspapers that are laid out, coffee is able to be had in about 20+ different versions (we did it before Starbucks was even FOUNDED, fuck you), and the cakes and pastries are displayed in a counter for you to chose from, and there's usually a special cake that is specific to this particular one (usually the oldest and most famous ones have this). You can also eat regular meals and get alcoholic drinks too, though that's usually just wine and sparkling wine.
Sure, if you are rude to the wait staff, they will take absolutely no shit from you, even if modern service standards have reached us too, we are not dependant on tips, so go Karen somewhere else. If you are just an arrogant American, bruh, we might be taking your money with a smile (as we do with all tourists, since this city does live off of it), but we will be making fun of you until the dawn of the next day, at which point we will have forgotten about you anyway. (And prayed that you will never return or at least learned some manners if the brain is too unaffordable)
The main thing someone who was born in Vienna and truly immersed in the Austrian, and specifically the Viennese language (these two things sadly don't manifest automatically, which is a shame) might make fun of, is the way that the Germans pronounce the word "Kaffee". The Germans put the stress on the first syllable, where the Austrians do it on the second one. (This also applies to a lot of other words too, actually) The Germans also ORDER coffee differently from what is common here, and given how Germans are the biggest (albeit rather invisible) group of foreigners, this is of course the most common point of "conflict". I don't actually think that anyone really takes this badly in any way tho. (It's actually just gentle jokes about foreigners (especially those that come here for the first time) being confused about the practically CODENAMES we give our coffee variations)
-*-*-*-
Well, this rant certainly got all over the place, and yeah, I guess what made the least sense for me was the portrayals of the characters in that fic anyway, so I just closed it and forgot about it, because why should I waste my precious time and brain capacity with thinking about a shitty fic? Only because it was set in the city I'm a part of? Nah, not making that mistake again after that one Manga that started to be set here, but then went to be Japan-focused, because why wouldn't it? (Well, no wonder I put that one back onto the store's shelf and bought something else LOL)
--
Yessssss. Feeeeed meeeee.
Oh man. I'm not above titles that are a reference to something, but I hate it when it seems like there's literally no point to the title. Even if the song doesn't appear, there should be some kind of meta level of commentary going on.
I once titled a fic: "Nobody But Uncle Ben" or "Even Bad Women Love Their Mommas": A Non-Tragedy in a Whole Bunch of Acts
Admittedly, it probably means fuckall to readers, and neither quote is referenced in the text. But if one knows what the title is referring to, I think it would be possible to guess why I picked that.
In the 90s, there used to be a saying: "Nobody stays dead in comics except for Jason Todd, Bucky Barnes, and Uncle Ben."
...
Anyway, like most of my work, that fic has a bunch of fake death and while I never wrote the sequel that made the worldbuilding actually make sense, it involves a character from the movieverse trying to avert the shitty future from the comicsverse where 2/3 of the ship in that fic die.
The second part is an adaptation of a quote from 3:10 to Yuma and is a commentary on how I see one of the characters, not just in the sense that she has familial feelings but in the sense that the scene the quote is from has the charismatic villain revealing that one of the lawmen is a genocidal, self-righteous hypocrite. Then the villain murders him for insulting his mother, showing that the lawman is also an idiot who never understood the villain at all.
Uh, but I digress. Anyway, they could at least have meant something with that song title other than "This is something that comes from there". Also, that song is great and how dare they. LOL. (I mean, I know you're trying to make this fic hard to track down, but it's not exactly hard to guess. Haha.)
I think a lot of tropey fic about places the writer doesn't know well seems to fall back on stereotypes from decades ago with no clue how things might have changed either just because time marches on or because the whole world has changed radically with the rise of the internet and whatnot.

Tumblr media
character : brother’s friend! Yuta Nakamoto, Reader, Johnny as reader’s brother
genre : smut
summary : YUTA. TONGUE PIERCING.
word count : 1k words
warning: (Oral- Female Receiving, mentioned Male Receiving)
tag list : @aiforyuu @yutazen01 @ailoveyuta @cosmiclatte28 @2-3-t-i
a/n : I woke up with the rumor of Yuta’s tongue piercing and this scenario had been running in my mind. I had to post this or my first grade class would wonder why I’m smiling to myself again. 😂 But real or not, let’s admit that Yuta is indeed hot.
The moment you went out of the door of your bedroom, you were surprised to see Yuta seated on the couch. What is he even doing here? And where is your brother? "Good morning, princess." he greeted, smiling at you.
It's been months since you last saw Yuta. He had to go to Japan and visit his family so it's a surprise that he's back. "I didn't know you're back." You said as you sat beside him, watching the football game he has his eyes on. He just chuckled then opened a popsicle that made you gulp. "Where's Johnny?" You asked as you stood up then headed to the kitchen. You're craving for a popsicle all of the sudden. Just something long to put in your mouth.
"This is the last popsicle." He called with a laugh that made you pout. "Johnny went to get some food. I'll text him that you want some popsicle." But you shook your head.
You flopped down beside him and he reached out to share his popsicle with you. You wanted something long. And you had missed Yuta in your mouth.
Your hands wrapped on his left hand that was holding the popsicle, tongue darting out to lick the tip then put half in your mouth, sucking on the cold object. He released a breathy moan that made you smirk. You sucked the tip of the popsicle then licked on it, glancing at Yuta who bit his lip. Your tongue lingered on the sweet treat that the melting popsicle and your saliva dripped on your chin. He cursed in that sexy low voice, the sexual attraction crackling between the two of you.
You wiped your mouth with the back of your hand as he groaned your name, letting the sticky popsicle melt on your exposed leg. His thumb grazed on your thigh, letting his finger get coated with the once sweet treat. You let a moan escape your mouth when he reached the hem of your shorts. Your hand brushed along his arm, putting his finger in your mouth and sucking on it like the popsicle from earlier. Your tongue flicked on the pad of his thumb, making Yuta smirk at your ministrations. You raised an eyebrow when you let go of his thumb with a pop, getting the stick of popsicle and putting it in his agape lips. "Next time, don't eat the last popsicle."
Before you could stand, he held your waist and pulled you in his lap. One hand was holding your shoulder while the other held your thigh to make you face him. His lips were on you as his hand trailed on your thigh. You moaned and his tongue slithered in your mouth, swiping against your own. Your eyes widened when you felt something rough in your mouth that you immediately pulled out. "You pierced your tongue?" He licked his lip and you saw the glistening silver on the side of his tongue. He did. And it looks so hot. "Does it hurt?" You genuinely asked but he shook his head. "When?"
He pushed you to the couch that you're lying down. Him, hovering above you. "Long enough that I can eat you out now." You gasped when he licked your lips, the metal of his piercing adding roughness to what he was doing. You focused on how that tongue piercing gave pleasure to your body especially when he started licking the skin of your neck.
There's no doubt that Yuta has amazing skills with his tongue. Well, with everything honestly. But the small metal on his tongue just gave this additional pleasure that you cannot explain. When his tongue licked your erect nipples, your back arched to pull him closer. That feels so good that your head is spinning now. How would it feel in your throbbing core?
You had to cover your mouth to avoid screaming when he dragged his tongue from your breast south to your pubic bone. He kissed that part before flicking his tongue on your clit, making sure that you can feel his piercing. You heard Yuta chuckle before his tongue explored you. Soft mewls escaped your mouth. One hand thread on his hair while the other grasped the headrest of the sofa, jerking your hip up as he hit the right spot.
You must look like a mess now. If Johnny suddenly comes home and sees you and his friend like this, you'll be dead for sure. But Yuta is so good that you felt your head spinning when you came. He only smirked while wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, licking his lips that the silver glistened.
The guy took his phone out while you recovered from your high, pulling your shorts up. His tongue darted out of his lips once again and you were enticed. "Yuta," you called as he hummed in response, forgetting his phone to look at you who was still lying down on the couch. "Should I get a piercing as well?" His phone was now forgotten as he placed it above the coffee table. "I mean, it would feel good if I suck you." You sit up that you're almost close to him.
He held your chin, swiping his tongue along your bottom lip. "Piercing or not, you're good at sucking." You chuckled. "Speaking of which, I asked Johnny to get some things. We still have plenty of time left. Can you…?"
"Definitely!" You automatically kneeled in front of him.
-- You went out from your bath, hair still dripping wet when you spotted your brother eating a late breakfast. "Y/N, come on let's eat." He called as you opened the fridge and took a pitcher of water. You took a cup that was in front of Yuta who was eating toasts and poured water on it.
"I'm full."
"Full? We don't even have food." He claimed and from your peripheral vision, you saw Yuta hide a smile by drinking water. "What did you eat?"
"Popsicle." Johnny revolted that it was his ice cream but you just shrugged. You took a toast from Yuta's plate and bit on it, both your hands holding the glass of water as you went to the living room and put your favorite show on.
The recorded laugh of the fake audiences resonated through the room but you heard a certain voice from the next room saying, "Johnny, I forgot to tell you that Taeyong wants to see you." You smiled to yourself. You'll probably get another taste of your favorite popsicle.

The Psychopath's Crown - Pt. 1
Characters: Jim Moriarty x Holmes!OC
Warnings: None.
Chapter 1: "And you're supposed to be a Holmes."
I strode into Speedy’s, the bell dinging as I swung the door open and made my way over to the table where she was already seated. By she, I mean Eve Watson. Best friend and partner in crime. Well, not quite a partner in crime considering she’s a DI. A smile tilts my lips at the thought as I sit down next to her. She says, gesturing to the waitress bringing over two drinks but not raising her eyes from the newspaper.
“I ordered what you need,
Her lips turned up ever so slightly at the sight of me.
I smile gratefully as I accept the steaming cup of chamomile. As I sip it, I remark, “I suppose I didn’t apply my concealer well enough, did I.”
She replies, turning a page of the newspaper, “I might not be a Holmes but I have picked up a few tricks. You’re clearly stressed out to an observant eye.”
I merely shrug at her words, cupping both my hands around the cup for warmth, “I do quite a lot of work. Mycroft has it worse though.”
At the mention of my elder brother she snorts, finally laying down her newspaper.
“Please. I don’t see Mycroft with dark circles under his eyes and paler than usual skin.”
I retort, placing my cup down gently just as the waitress arrived with Eve’s order, “You don’t see Mycroft at all. With good reason, placed in a room together with no supervision you two wouldn’t last a day.”
She shrugs as well, accepting the truth of what I said.
I plunge onwards, not letting her speak, “So I had a proposition.”
She arches an eyebrow and I finish, “We could move in together.”
She says monotonously, her voice dripping with sarcasm, “I wasn’t aware that our relationship had become so serious. Whatever shall I tell Greg?”
I sigh, “I found recording devices in my home and even though I dismantled them, Mycroft refuses to let me live alone and as much as I love my brother I appreciate my freedom. If I moved in with Myc, my life would be very restricted. So, as an alternative, I’d rather live with you.”
As I finish explaining she thoughtfully stirs her matcha before she says, “Well, if that’s the case then sure. I’ll have someone help with your stuff. Just don’t take my room. There’s plenty of others.”
I instinctively lean forward to hug her, forgetting the table and letting out a small “oof” as I bump into it.
She snickers, “And you’re supposed to be a Holmes.”
I roll my eyes and stand up, “You wanted me to meet someone?”
She nods, standing up as well, “My brother, John Watson. He can be a little-”
I complete her sentence, “Overwhelmingly flirtatious?”
She nods again as we exit the cafe, “My brother flirts with every single nice girl he meets. It’s weird. But he’s living with Sherl so you’ll have to get used to seeing him more often..”
I reply as we enter 221, “Oh, I know he’s living with Sherl.”
At the look she gives me I say quickly, “Mycroft’s surveillance, don’t ask. And also, how are you two related again? He’s flirtatious and you despise PDA, even between friends.”
She replies simply, “He’s my brother.”
I refrain from rolling my eyes again and instead rap on the door to 221B, “Sherlock! Open up.”
A man with short blondish hair opened the door, looking rather confused when he saw me but he seemed to realize something as his eyes darted to Eve.
“This is who you wanted me to meet?” He asks her.
She merely says, “I got her along, didn’t I?” She pushes him out of her way and goes straight to the refrigerator.
I chuckle and step in as he stands aside. He starts speaking first, “So, Eve didn’t bother to mention your name?”
I answer with a small smile, “Emberlyn. I go by Emberlyn.”
He smiles as well, “Beautiful name, beautiful woman.”
Flirtatious, indeed. He’s barely known me for five minutes. I hold back a chuckle when I realise he probably doesn’t know I’m related to his flatmate.
As if on cue, Sherlock strides in, his pale blue robe billowing as he walks, “Where’s Eve?”
I point to the kitchen, and he seems to realize I”m here, “Oh, hello sister. John, I’d recommend not flirting with her unless you want an earful from Mycroft. You might even get maimed if you’re lucky.”
Eve adds, peeking out of the kitchen, at John’s incredulous look, “Mhm. Just try not to hook up with her.”
I finally let a laugh bubble out, “I forgot to mention, My full name is actually Charlotte Emberlyn Tara Holmes. Bit of a mouthful so I go by Emberlyn.”
John continues to gape at me for a moment and before I can register anything else there’s a blast. I’m thrown off my feet and backwards almost headfirst into the fireplace. I feel a ringing in my ears as I stand up and stumble towards the kitchen, “Eve? Sherlock? Are you alright?”
Worry seeps through my voice despite myself and I see that Eve is just now getting up with a wince. Sherlock has already dusted himself off and extended an arm to help her up. She stands up with a small groan and I see red contusions on her elbows.
I murmur slightly, my ears still ringing, “That is going to bruise.”
She retorted, though her voice was still weak, “You’re one to talk with the way you’re clinging to that counter.”
I grimace and ask Sherlock, “You’re alright, yes?”
He nods swiftly, still analyzing our injuries. Confusion passes over Eve’s face as he bustles over to put the kettle on.
He explains, “Mycroft will be here soon. I’ll give it ten minutes with the commute. If it was just us it would’ve been an hour or so. Emberlyn is involved thus expediting the travel time.”
I scowl but gratefully accept the muffins he passes to Eve and I. By the time we finish the whistle of the kettle sounds throughout the house, almost in unison with the knocking on the door.
Eve hollers, “Come in Mykie.”
He answers, irritation clear in his voice as he steps in, “Good morning to you too Evangeline. No major injuries I see. Pity. A week in a hospital would have done wonders for your complexion.”
Sherlock steps forward, almost ready to engage in argument but I beat him to it, “It’s much too early in the day to beat one of my imbecilic brothers over the head with a lamp but I won’t hesitate.”
They both pause at that and Eve says, rolling up her sleeves, “I don’t have any such forebearing about beating one of them over the head with a lamp.”
I sigh exasperatedly, “Myc sit, Sher get the tea from the kitchen, Eve, you can go to another room if you can’t stand to be civilized.”
I pause and wait for them to comply, which they do. John murmurs to me, “Impressive.”
I laugh slightly, “It’s a skill.”
Eve busies herself in the kitchen, still grumbling under her breath about how she’d like to maim Mycroft, while Sherlock arrives with the tea tray, purposefully positioning it away from Mycroft. I roll my eyes at his antics but gesture for Mycroft to proceed.
*mycroft’s andrew west explanation*
Mycroft stands up and hisses, “Sherlock, this is of national importance.”
He scowls, “Then get Emberlyn to do it.”
Mycroft retorts, “Emberlyn has other work to do, especially with the Korean elections approaching. But you don’t need to know anything about that, do you?”
Sherlock lifts his violin and I sigh, dreading what was to follow. Sure enough, screeching emitted from his violin as he deliberately played off-key. I heard a crash in the kitchen accompanied by the sound of glass shattering.
“DAMMIT SHERLOCK!”
I snorted and even Mycroft smirked, “Good luck brother.”
Sherlock grimaced as Eve peeked out of the kitchen, “As much as I adore torturing Mycroft, giving me a warning first would be lovely! I just shattered my favorite champagne glass.”
John said incredulously, “You don’t even live here!”
Sherlock explains, “She gave me a glass which she used whenever she came around my flat. When I moved here, I took it with me.”
I interjected, “More concerningly, why were you touching the champagne glass at 10 am. Don’t tell me you were admiring it. You’re not sentimental.”
She sulked, “Listening to Mycroft talk is deserving of a glass of champagne. Not that I ever did get to drink it.”
She glares daggers at Sherlock who winces.
I stand up and shake my head, “Well, as long as she didn’t drink any alcohol, no harm done. I’ll leave you to wipe up your champagne puddle Sherlock. Mycroft will be waiting for me down.”
He nodded, dragging his feet as he went to the kitchen, Eve still looking put out over losing her glass of liquor. John waved as I left the flat. Soon I was out on the side walk of Baker Street. I didn’t see Mycroft but a familiar black BMW rolled up to me, the back window was rolled down and Megara came into view.
“We can talk in the car.”
I complied, sliding in as she opened the door.
“So, what does Mycroft have for me today?” I ask, as the car drives off into the street and towards my flat.
She brushes a strand of blonde hair behind her ear and takes out a few folders. She hands me a sheet, “This would be your schedule for the week. I’m sure you have Ms. Watson’s permission so your things are being moved currently. We’re merely heading to your house for a last look for anything they might’ve missed. For this week you don’t have any active teams to look over. Andrew West, as you know, will be taken care of by Mr. Sherlock Holmes. In your schedule you can see your meetings for the week.”
I nod, rifling through the papers she has given me. A beautifully detailed itinerary of my week.
“Currently, Mr Holmes has only asked you to see the physician that we’ll be stopping at on the way. “
I cut her off with an incredulous look, “I only have a few bruises.”
She arches an eyebrow, “It’s about time for your monthly check up anyways.”
The vehicle comes to a stop outside the physician’s building and I grumble slightly as she marches me to the door.
I’m still scowling as we enter the vehicle again.
“Completely unnecessary.”
She allows herself a small snicker but says in a professional tone, “I almost forgot to mention the coffee I got you.”
I stare at the coffee and then at her, “Is this supposed to be the adult version of giving a child a lollipop after a doctor visit?”
Though she shrugs her eyes sparkle with mischief and I accept it with a sigh.
She continues her briefing from where we left off, “Mr. Holmes, only wishes for you to rest up today. Your main assignment this week would be researching one of our high profile potential criminals.”
She delicately hands me a rather thin file. I flip through its meager two pages with surprise, “This is all we have?”
She nods, “Precisely, why he wants you to investigate further I presume. And, you didn’t hear this from me but he probably would also like you to lay off the legwork for a while.”
I grumble at her words but I’m more pre-occupied with the file before me. Attached it a clear cut photograph of the man and I find myself mildly amused as he seems to be striking a pose despite the photograph clearly being taken by a security camera.
“James Elwin Moriarty.” I murmur the name to myself, taken aback by how soft it sounds. So gentle and distinguished. Rather contrasting to the number of illegal deeds he has been suspected of being an accomplice in. Suspected being the key word there. He was rather thorough and careful. A puzzle indeed. Despite having much information about his suspected crimes there was little to none personal information. Education, childhood, parents, family. As if he was nobody. I suppose that’s what Mycroft wanted me to investigate.
Everyone has a weakness Charlotte, if you find it, they’re yours.
His words ring in my ear. Precious but cold-hearted advice which he gave in my first years at the secret service. Before I was a famed interrogator there. I closed the file and leaned back, closing my eyes.
“Thank you, Megara. I think I’ll take my brother’s advice and take a short nap. Tell me when we arrive.”
“Of course, Ms.Holmes.”

THE WAY YOU FILLED YOUR FIRST REQUEST SHOOK ME?!?!?!? YOU BLESSED US!? Would you mind also imagining how Mammon, Luci and Belphie would feel with a MC who's guarded with themselves and their feelings to avoid hurt, so they try to keep these brothers at a friendly arm's length as they don't believe the brothers don't really care about them? It would make me so happy, thank you so much!
EEEEK! Sorry for the wait. It took forever and a day to get enough time to seat uninterrupted and then try to edit ;.;
I hope you like it! Apologies if I didn’t get the prompt just right!
Mammon
He didn’t hide his disdain for his human protection duty when you first met. The fact that you kept him at an arm's length was a devil’s blessing. Good! He is a busy demon after all, he doesn’t have time for some human. At first.
Then he caught the feels and it’s all downhill for him at his ‘cool devil’ act. Not that you ever NOTICED.
He tries to flirt with you. Before you, he thought he was good at it too.
He’s never had someone so civil with his advances. You smile and laugh politely at whatever complement he throws at you. You might even give him a few back in a teasing, but clearly friendly manner.
You stress it heavily whenever he comes on too heavy with his advances. You stamp down whatever feelings he evokes and try to keep your line clean and precise in the shifting sand of your relationship.
He takes you out one evening after school, determined to get an actual answer from you over some made up snack he lied about. You don’t think anything of it, happy for an excuse to hang out. You walk and talk, not taking notice of his steadily reddening face as he keeps making swipes at your hand each time it brushes his.
You make an off-handed (get it) remark about the closeness and offer to walk behind this was bothering him.
He is miffed and throws out all semblance of “coolness”. Just flat out confess. Face flaming hot from embarrassment and sweaty palms now shoved into his jacket.
It was a blink and you’d miss it kind of moment. Mammon’s cheeks start to heat gradually. A staunch look of panic growing behind his eyes.
The words just slip off his tongue. His lips forming a sentence you were dreading. You didn’t quite catch it all; his declaration lost in the wind of the open market. You try to catch his gaze, to make him repeat himself clearly, for what purpose you didn’t know. You don't particularly want to hear it again, yet it would give you time to compose some kind of response.
He refuses to look at you. No matter which way you bob and weave beneath him, he dances around you. His face always looking in the opposite direction of yours. His gaze permanently pointing at his feet. The uneven cobblestone beneath his scuffed boots was suddenly very interesting it seemed. "I'm sorry? I didn't catch that." You ask once more, grabbing on to the crook of his elbow.
He buries himself deeper into the flipped collar of his coat and whispers it again. "I-I like ya, ok? Like like like ya know?" He stumbles over his thoughts.
Now how in the hells were you supposed to dodge this? It had been easier to evade his blatant affections when even he wasn't admitting to them. "No, you don't." You step away with a dry chuckle. "Don't be silly." You back away shaking your head in denial. You were sure Mammon could feel your heart rate picking up. You need some space, more space than the street could give you. Somewhere away from your tall, sweet, white-haired problem.
"Oi!" He makes a grab for you as you turn to flee. He spins you around leaning down to meet with you face to face. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"We are friends Mammon," You try to wiggle out of his strong, yet gentle grip. "You're just mixing up the feelings." Bullshit. With him touching you, your joint pack acted like an amplifier. You very much felt what he thought of you. The yearning from his newfound mental clarity mixes with the panic of your rejection. It makes a bittersweet taste bloom in your mouth, so hopefully yet reserved.
He was not so lucky. Your feelings felt like ash on his tongue, a sour tang of fear and self-doubt building on his sense. You were afraid of the inevitable, or what you presumed to be the inevitable.
You were supposed to be friends then disappear forever once the school year was up. Him, down here, and you back to being just another nameless soul in the human realm. No need to get the storyline all tangled. "Hey-hey," Mammon speaks in a rush. "It ain't like that, really." He coos shuffling you closer till you are wrapped tightly in his soft leather jacket. He pours more of himself into the pack, opening himself up in ways he never thought capable of from his demonic form.
"I'm stupid." You speak into his chest. The warm reassurance of his unspoken pledge soothing you. It lessens the tight feeling of uncertainty that you had grown accustomed to.
"Ah- now, ain't that supposed to be my job?" The taste in his mouth dissipates slightly as you let out an indignant huff. He flinches as you poke his side hard between his rib cage.
"Told you to stop talking down on yourself Mammon."
The demon hums noncommittally keeping you close. He rocks you both from side to side, oblivious to the throngs of other pedestrians forced to walk around you two. "Guess I forgot. Maybe you could remind me? O-on a date?"
He smiles down at the little sliver of your face and eyes peeking up from the darkness of his jacket. He could damn near feel the smile trying to break from your forced scowl. "Just one?"
"Heh- don't bet on it."
Lucifer
Welcome to the ultimate game of pleasantry chicken. The two of you know this dance by heart, but your footwork isn't synching up.
Lucifer is trying to keep this whole debacle as professional as possible. You are an esteemed guest and pact holder for all of his brothers and himself. This should be business as usual. He totally has his emotions and growing frustration at your lack of interest in him in check.
Yup. He's fine. He's great; glad you two have such an unspoken understanding of your standing in his company and in the house. The same book, same chapter, same bloody page.
You are a good friend. Just. A. Very. Good. Friend.
He breaks first. Not that he will admit it. But the weekly coffee breaks become a bi-daily thing as he tries to court you. He draws these evenings out now. Have you finished your schoolwork? No, allow me to tutor you. Perhaps you would like to listen to this new vinyl with me tonight? It is a complete demon rendition of Wagner's Die Meistersinger. A classic, you’ll love it.
You take it all in stride. Thanking him innocently enough and going along with it. You buffer every little turn of phrase and slightly off-color hint of what he wanted from you with grace. So tactfully done he begins to doubt himself. You couldn’t be misconstruing his intentions right? He hasn’t doubted himself like this in a long time.
Diavolo catches on quickly to the kicked puppy look Lucifer tots around in your presence. He’ll tease, but try to help. He’s a decent wingman truth be told. “How has Lucifer been treating you? I haven’t seen him this happy in ages. He is a great friend to have, yes?” Kinda backfires when you agree that he is indeed a good friend. Oops.
He’ll crack one night over a glass (or bottle) of something strong he pulled from his study. You had slipped into his room unannounced asking for a quiet place to read before bed.  The interruption to his musings leads to him running his mouth and pile driving his pride into the ground.
He can’t say no to you anymore. He really should. You were hell bent on keeping him at an arm's length, so he should too. Lucifer watches you like a hawk from behind his desk. His ungloved fingers swirling the dregs of his drink. The cognac inside of it looking up at him, his scowl reflecting in the rich red liquor. Don’t judge me. He scoffs at himself, was he that far gone that he was arguing with his glassware? Should have switched to the bottle hours ago.
“Luci?” You say again waving a hand in his face. “You forget to sleep again this week?” Your smile was warm, a little twinkle in your eye drawing a heat to his collar that had nothing to do with the spirits. You sit on the edge of his desk in your sleepwear. The baggy shirt and sweats reeked of his brothers.
“No.” He lies pushing his desk chair away. “Did you need something?”
You shrug hopping off the desk. “Not really. Wasn’t feeling movie night. You ok if I hang out here? It’s nice and quiet.” You slink off to the couch in front of the fire before he could answer.
“You could not do this in your room?” Lucifer snips. He tosses back the rest of his drink and rises to his feet. He grimaces at the burn spreading across his throat. “I’m sure it is quiet in there too.” He catches your eyes looking over the back of the lounge. While everything lower than the bridge of your nose was blocked by the black velvet he could feel the frown growing on your face.
“Well, yes. But I still want some friendly company. Just not rowdy company, I thought you wouldn’t mind...”
Devils. There was that word again. "You assume to know me?" He cannot hide the venom lacing his words. The liquor had dulled his senses enough that he could not hide his rancor.
“I’m-” You leave the chair coming around it to give him your full attention. This wasn’t like him. Not anymore at least. But you were used to the odd mood swings that plagued your companions. "I don’t assume anything about you Luci. But if you want to talk-"
“I don’t want to have some idle friendly chit chat.” He could feel the tantrum coming. “Have I not proven myself capable of-” His jaw snaps shut with an audible click that echoes across the spacious chamber.
“Of?”
A noticeable blush grows on his pale cheeks. “More.” He sighs deeply, he feels light-headed at the admission. Whether it was from the drinks or from going against his nature and swallowing his pride he couldn’t tell. “Am I not enough to be more than a friend to you?”
That takes you by surprise. You had speculated that he harbored feelings for you. Diavolo all but cementing the idea in your mind. But, this was Lucifer. It felt like just yesterday you were at each other's throats, before he recognized you as something other than a threat to his family. You wanted to respect that little bit of trust he had given you. “It’s not like I never thought about it.”
“But?” He perks up slightly hearing the unspoken word in your inflection. He could see your apprehension yet there was a shimmer of something else underneath. Something he could work with.
“I was- I am scared.”
“Finally, a reasonable response from being around demons.” Lucifer snorts.
“Hey! You know that’s not what I mean.”
“No, I don’t. Explain it to me.” He invades your space waiting to see what you would do. Run or stay. He would have his answer either way. You don’t move, instead, you wrap your arms around yourself. Guarding yourself yet standing firm. One of the many reasons why he admired you.
“I feel like we just became friends. I didn’t think you felt the same and I didn’t want to mess this all up.” You confess. “I just thought it would be easier this way.”
Lucifer absorbs your words quietly, nodding at the logic behind them. “Messes are not something I generally like true, but," He reaches for you, careful of your defensive stature to lead you back to the couch. “If you are willing to iron out the bumps with me I’d like to see what we can make of it.”
If it meant he could have you he would take as much time as you needed.
Belphegor
It takes him the longest to notice that you were trying to keep him at arm's length emotionally. It was hard for him to see at first since you still readily accepted his invitations to snuggle and hang out.
He thought he was very blatant with his desire for you and your affections. The head pats and evening is the planetarium or his attic.
The fact that he had apologized for that little murder mishap. He thought that was a big bright neon sign. Yet you always seemed to try to invite someone else along to chill or leave quickly after an hour or so. As much as he loved his twin and tolerated his other brothers he was trying to get you ALONE.
He starts trying to see you outside the house now too. Lunch in the cafeteria? Pffft. You are going to eat and nap with him in the courtyard. After School activities? Could you help him with some council stuff instead?
Yes, he will go out of his way to do work if you are involved.
You are still too closed off though. You act around him like you do around any of the other brothers and it drives him crazy. You are just so friendly and cordial with everyone. How come he is the only one that becomes a flushing mess now?
He becomes your second shadow, almost as bad as Mammon. You start to get an inkling of his intentions when he starts wanting to sleep in your bedroom at night instead of his or the attic. You let him but offer up the couch or split the bed with a pillow.
He snoops when he gets desperate. Did you like someone else? Was that why you were constantly acting like his advances were just him being overly friendly? He doesn’t find anything, you act like this around everyone else too.
He gives up. Stops interacting with you entirely. He is 99% sure he can sleep through the next century without being bothered. Maybe he’ll get over you by then.
“Belphie? You up here?” The demon in question opens a bleary eye to his locked door. He should stay quiet, leave you hanging. Give himself some vindictive pleasure in snubbing you.
“Hai~” He rises from his nest of blankets and pillows. “Hold on.” Unlocking the door he opens it ajar. You smile around the large stack of books and binders in your arms. “What is that?” Please don’t say homework.
“Work you’ve missed sulking up here.” You confirm his worst fear. “Satan and I thought we would spot you a bit though.” Belphegor watches you struggle for a second to pull a folded piece of paper out from the middle of the stack. “We got most of the answers done for you. Now you just have to fill the worksheets in with your handwriting.” You wave the paper expectantly.
Hearing his brother’s name makes him sour immediately. How long had you been hanging out with him now? “Thanks, leave them at the door then.” He goes to shut the door and return to his dreamless slumber but it’s blocked by your foot.
“Ouch.” You wince hopping back on one foot.
“Idiot! Are you hurt?” He wrenches the door open crouching down to take a look at your sock-covered foot.
“Nothing I can’t walk off. Though my arms are getting sore- weak human muscles an’ all.” You hint wiggling the stack in your arms. He takes the work this time, still eyeing your foot. “Relax, I’ve stubbed my toe with more force than that before.” You whisk by him, using his brief moment of distraction to slip by.
“Did I invite you in?” Belphegor eyes you with a frown. He kicks his door close and dumps the pile of papers on his already over-encumbered desk. Hmm. How many days had he missed?
You ignore him plopping down on the still warm sheets. “Nope!” You pop the ‘p’ with a grin. “But that has never stopped you from sneaking into my room. So fair trade all around.” You pat at the bed, clearing inviting him to join you. “Come on. I’ll help you finish that work then we can chill.”
Oh, now you want to hang out. He felt a rush of bitterness wash over him.  “Don’t you have something better to do?” If this keeps up he’ll need another nap, alone preferably. “Doesn’t Asmo need a shopping buddy or something?”
“What’s gotten you all worked up?” You frown, hurt by his accusatory tone.
Belphie shoots you a wounded look. "We never hang out anymore." He sulks. "Alone, I mean. I'm tired of you always inviting Beel or someone else with us."
He glances over to you idly thumbing at one of the books on his desk. It's frustrating. This game of touch and go he accidentally got himself into. Ugh- why did this have to be so hard. "I want to spend more time with you. Just us, so why are you always avoiding that?"
"I.” You look down at your feet dangling off the side of his mattress. “I’m sorry you feel that way. I just felt like- like things were going off the rails between us.” You weren't oblivious to his advances.
He cocks his head in confusion. "Mmm? What are you afraid of?" You read a flicker in his eyes, a haunting memory of cruel fingers around your neck darken his gaze. "Ah-"
"No! No that's not it!" You panic waving your hands up. Of course, he would immediately go to that. "I'm just worried. I know you like me, and-just what if things don't work out? What if you realize what a mistake this could be?"
Your admission gives him pause. So you knew this whole time? Not surprising; he wouldn't fall for someone stupid. "So, are you admitting to liking me back?" He feels giddy when you nod, covering your heating face with your hands. " Well then, what’s the problem? It’s not a mistake if we both are making it.” He grins slyly. “How can it not work out if the feelings are mutual.”
“But what if you are mistaken?” He wraps you up into his arms, flopping you both over onto his messy bed. He takes one of your hands and places it on the top of his head all while burying his nose in your neck.
“Please,” He yawns, feeling his body grow heavy. “I don’t waste my energy on ‘mistakes’.”

It was a warm, sunny afternoon, the sun high upon the sky, the air unusually filled with humidity. A dreadful combination, for sure. The street was mostly empty, the sight of another soul, rare during this time that the heat was at its fullest. Most people would be sensible enough to not go out at 103°F, but as much as he needed to be one of those people, Ethan was on borrowed time that day.
Being an intern at a hospital was probably the hardest - and let's be honest, shittiest- situation you could be in, right? The answer is a big fat no. At least that's what Ethan Ramsey, a doctor who at just his second year as an attending was at the top of his game and highly successful, would say. Why? Because someone has to deal with the interns and that brave soul has to deal with a lot. He speaks from experience.
Hence why this was the only moment he could slip in his schedule to take a break and get some decent coffee. His best friend Tobias, had suggested he go to the new place in the suburbs to get his caffeine fix. Of course, Ethan didn't believe him at first. A coffee shop in the suburbs? Sounds like one of Tobias' usual pranks. Still, his curiosity won and he drove all the way to the suburbs in search of the infamous coffee shop.
He would die before he admitted that Tobias was right, but that was some pretty good coffee. Content and somewhat more ready to go back, he began walking to his car. He could hear some barking in the distance, but that was to be expected. All those rich people around here sure would keep a dog or two. "Well maybe I should adopt the pup Thomas stole. I could use the company of someone not constantly talking" , he thought to himself as he unlocked the car.
Ethan quickly got in and immediately turned on the air conditioning. He sinked into his leather seat and closed his eyes for a minute, finding some relief from the unbearable heat. Suddenly he heard the door of the car open and close along with some very loud barking and he instinctively jumped in his seat, turning to look at the person who jumped in his car.
He didn't even get to utter a word before the woman turned to look at him with pleading eyes.
"Oh my God I'm so sorry for barging in but please please drive ! I'll explain everything I promise!"
Not even thinking about it, he started driving, while keeping an eye on the woman next to him, who was breathing heavily and looking out of the mirrors. It was then that he saw six big dogs running after his car and all that barking he had heard started making sense.
The dogs stopped following them after a few more minutes, their endurance making them seem understandably terrifying. Only then did she relax and take a deep breath.
"Thank you so much for this. I'm so sorry for jumping into your car.", she thanked him with a small smile.
"Uh… it's no problem. Glad I could help."
"I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Olivia Valentine, nice to meet you.", Olivia extended her hand towards him in a handshake.
Turning his eyes on her he briefly shook her hand. "Ethan Ramsey, it's…certainly interesting to meet you"
She laughed slightly at that, shaking her head and looking out of the window.
Ethan couldn't help but really notice how attractive she was. Her hair was gold blonde and tied back into a high ponytail, shaped in loose curls. Her eyes were big and green and her skin was spotless. Olivia wasn't wearing much makeup but what really stood out was her plump, bright red lips, perfectly contrasting with her fair skin. She was dressed in a simple, professional, dark blue , form-fitting dress with black high heels that accentuated her long legs. She was wearing a silver, elegant wrist watch and in her lap rested a black briefcase.
"Would it be okay if I asked what just happened to you, Miss Valentine?", the urge to solve mysteries whether it was regarding medicine or this beautiful woman, propelled him towards asking her this question. Besides she just came out of nowhere, I have a right I ask her. Right?
"Please call me Olivia."
"Only if you call me Ethan"
She grinned and nodded. "Deal"
"So, Ethan , I am a real estate agent. I had an appointment with a client to show him a villa that was for sale but I had been waiting outside the house for thirty minutes and he hadn't shown up. And of course, he didn't even call to let me know that he wouldn't come, instead of letting me roast in the sun. Anyways, I decided to leave and I walked a couple of blocks down the street in hopes of getting a cab. You can guess how well that went in this time and area, so I called a colleague to come pick me up. I was waiting for her to come, when two of these huge ass dogs escaped their homes, thinking I was an intruder just because I passed by and began coming closer, teeth bared and all. Since I am so lucky today, somehow more dogs gathered so I panicked and ran. They started chasing me… and then Olivia met Ethan", she finished her story with a dry chuckle.
Ethan was left speechless. His surprise must have been written all across his face because next thing he knew she was bursting into laughter.
"I'm-I'm sorry… it's just--that you should see your face", she said in between laughing.
"I mean. Wow. And all because of that jerk of a client."
"Definitely a jerk and not only because of that. He's a plastic surgeon and he's all about how successful he is or some shit. "I'm Dr. Thorne and I'm one of the leading plastic surgeons in Massachusetts." As if I give a damn. ", she rolled her eyes hard.
"Dr. Thorne you said? Ugh he's one of the worst of his kind"
"You know him?!"
"Yeah unfortunately. He works in Edenbrook, as do I. I'm a doctor."
"Ohh interesting! Let me guess. Internal medicine?"
"Actually… yes. How did you guess?", he turned to give her a surprised look.
"You previously said of his kind. I know enough about doctors that one working in internal medicine isn't particularly…fond of surgeons. Am I right?", she asked giddily.
Ethan chucked at that. "Yes, you are. Mostly at least"
"Nailed it."
Valentine. Where had he heard that name though…?
"You work in the big firm downtown don't you?" , he stated rather than asked after a moment of silence.
"I was wondering when you would figure it out Dr. Ramsey.", Olivia teased him, smirking.
"I am a diagnostician Ms. Valentine. I notice things. And your firm is difficult to miss"
"Technically not mine. My father owns the business."
"So it's safe to assume, your mother is the doctor?"
"Bravo, Doctor. Yes indeed. She works at Mass Kenmore."
"I see… So. Want me to give you a lift? We're already in the car and your work is on my way.", he raised an eyebrow expectantly.
"Sure! Thanks Ethan", she replied, grinning widely.
They spent the rest of the way comfortably talking to each other, both genuinely enjoying each other's company. For someone who was so talkative and gregarious, Ethan found himself interested in anything Olivia had to say. She was smart and confident, but in the most charming way possible. At last they reached the firm and Ethan pulled over.
Both turned to look at each other and started talking simultaneously
"Olivia--"
"I --"
"Ladies first.", he motioned for her to say what she wanted.
"Right. Thank you once again Ethan, both for the save and the ride. It was really nice to meet you.", her hand reached and squeezed his arm.
"You're very welcome, Olivia. I uh… wanted to ask…only if you want to of course… can I have your number?". He was quite visibly stuttering, but he tried to hide it behind a cough.
Olivia looked him in the eyes, clearly seeing through him and smiled. "Yeah, absolutely. Can I have yours too?"
He smiled back at her. "Yes of course"
They exchanged cards and after saying goodbye, Olivia got out of the car and walked back into the office. Just as she sat down at her desk she received a text message.
Ethan : Meet me this Saturday at 8, in "Gaston's Bistro"?
Olivia : I'll be there :)
Ethan : Perfect :D
She put her phone away and got down to work, smiling all the way, already excited for her date this weekend.

Don't be late - Levi x reader
Hey!! So I had this in my drafts for a while and finally decided I'd continue with it.. Happy reading❤️
Warnings :- none xd.
Tumblr media
Y/n's pov
Waking upto the sound of my alarm I groaned; mindlessly patting the air to turn it off. Stretching my arms and legs, with eyes half closed I looked back at my clock. Still trying to adjust to the lighting, my eyes widened when the display cleared up.
7.54 a.m
Screaming I jumped off my bed.
Now.. imagine a human, spinning like a hurricane and circling a room? Yeah that's an actual representation of what I looked right now.
Normally, I'd not wake up this late. But today.. today was different. Let's just say I had a long night talking with my best friend, which ended up with me sleeping in really late and well here I am now. Besides who could reject a call from their best friend am I right?
Dashing out of my house (reader locked the doors, yes she did) I shot down the streets. Thanking the heavens that I was able to run this fast; then again, that also had it's downsides. I managed to avoid running face first into a lamppost but in the midst of dodging that, I ran into something else.
Huh.. not that hard for a lamppost..
Stumbling backwards and losing my balance, I met with the cold ground. I groaned as I thought of how my day could get any worse.
"Tch. Watch we're your going," a male voice spoke.
Standing up slowly I dusted my clothes mumbling a string of apologies, "I'm sorry I was running late an-"
My breath hitched as I locked eyes with the man in front of me; steel gray orbs glaring daggers at me. He was clad in a black suit, jet black hair slightly toussled and he wore a crav- wait-
That's when I noticed how I was a few inches taller than him. It took every ounce of energy within me to hold back my laughter; no height idealogies but with that stoic expression and this height, he looked absolutely adorable.
I was broken out of my thoughts when he scoffed; I had been staring.
I shifted uncomfortably as he continued to keep his piercing gaze on me.
"Are you going to move?" voice laced with annoyance.
I raised an eyebrow at his words, what does he mean? He had all the time and space to-
"You're blocking the door," I turned around and realised that I was indeed blocking his way.
"S-sorry," I mumbled shuffling to the side.
His expression remained stoic as ever even as he got ready to walk away but he stopped abruptly. I watched as he bent down and picked something.
"You dropped this," he turned around holding out a book. I gasped recognising the cover, "oh my- thank you."
"Don't mention it brat," I reached out to take the book from him all the whole giving him a look of disbelief.
"Hey you can't call me that.. and yes I should mention it, because my friend would have thrown a tantrum had I lost her book," suddenly realisation struck me and my eyes nearly fell out their sockets.
WHAT WAS I DOING?! I was wasting time, that's what I was doing!!
So I ran, without a word I turned around and ran, leaving behind a very confused man.
Levi's pov
Next thing I know, she ran.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, but decided to brush it off; only then did I notice the book in my hands.
Tch that brat, how could she be so forgetful?
Sighing I contemplated going after her or hoping that I'd see her sometime later so I could return it. I went with the second seeing that she was already long gone.
*time skip brought to you by the fidget spinnerrrrr*
There I was in the local tea shop sipping on my usual cup of tea.
What I loved about this place was how calming it was, not too crowded, the fresh smell of tea and coffee filling the air, making me feel at ease, but not today. Today was different.
My gaze kept shifting between the book I was reading and the book that belonged to the girl from before.
I had gone with the second option of hoping I'd see her again or that I'd find any details in the book, but to my luck I found nothing of the sort.
How was I supposed to return this thing? I can't just leave it can I?
I sighed running a hand through my hair, "shit."
The sound of the little bell filled through the air signaling either someone's entrance or departure. Not wanting to look I kept my eyes locked on my book.
Suddenly there was a voice, an all too familiar one which broke me out of my own world. I glanced up from my book and caught sight of a very familiar face.
Hanje.
By her side stood two other girls, engaging in a conversation with her. The bell filled the air again, and in came a girl with (h/c) locks.
My eyes widened, was that her?
I hadn't seen her face yet but sure enough it had to be her, she had the same hair length and wore the same attire from before.
Once again I debated with myself, should I just go upto her and give her it? Maybe I should just wait till she sees me..
She turned around and sat a few tables away from me, still she hadn't noticed. Her two friends and Hanje had disappeared off to somewhere.
This is my chance
Y/n's pov
I couldn't help but sigh in frustration, how could I have been so forgetful? He literally held the book in front of me and I left without it.
My mind was mangled with the same image of him holding out the book to me repeating over and over. Then it stopped, it stopped right on his face and I felt the heat rush up to my cheeks.
What was I thinking? I mean he's a complete stranger, who also not to mention, called me a brat, I shouldn't be so flustered. As if on cue, the book came back into my mind and I rolled my eyes at my own forgetfulness.
It was right there.
I kept my gaze locked on the table, too stuck in my own self-pity to notice the person that stood right in front of me. Then there was a book pushed into my line of sight.
Great, now you're hallucinating y/n.
There was a clear of throat and I snapped my head up. Wait I wasn't imagining it-
For the second time that day, I locked eyes with him.
"You forgot this."
I stood up immediately causing the chair to scrape against the floor. The man visibly cringed at the sound and I began to stammer upon my words.
"Y-YOU! My b-book! How? How did you- no no wait- thank you so much!"
Placing the book on the table I turned to him and took his hands in mine, "you're a life saver I tell you!!"
He only stood there in shock; although I wasn't sure if I was seeing things, his cheeks were tinted a faint pink.
"Don't mention it," with that he returned to his stoic expression.
The air around us was beginning to get awkward with none of us moving or saying a word.
Finally deciding to break the silence I cleared my throat, "I-I'm y/n.. what's your name?"
"Levi."
I coughed awkwardly at his blunt reply, the sound of my heart thumping suddenly filling my ears.
"We're back! Y/n-" relief washed over me at the return of my friends but that relief disappeared just as fast as it came.
They stood there eyes wide and mouths agape.
I felt a tug at my hands and that's when I noticed how I still had Levi's hands intertwined with mine. Gasping I slipped my hands out of his and moved away slowly.
"Y/n? You didn't tell us you had a boyfriend.." I widened my eyes at this and waved my hands frantically in their awe struck faces, "what noo!! He-he's just-"
What was I supposed to call him? We just met, so I couldn't call him a friend. At my loss of words my friends smirked mischievously.
Then a loud voice boomed through the shop causing a few heads to turn in our direction, "LEVI?!!!! SHORTY IS THAT REALLY YOU?!"
Hanje knew him?
Levi scoffed at her in response.
"Oh my gosh! Well isn't this a big coincidence, are you really dating little y/n here? Why didn't you tell meeee?!" she poked Levi's cheeks repeatedly.
"Tch, keep it down four eyes and no, we're just friends," Levi grunted swatting her hands away. I choked on my own spit and glanced at him immediately.
He gave me a look and I instantly nodded my head in agreement, "yeah, we're friends.." I tried to bite back the smile that crawled up my face at his words.
My friends shrugged and made their way back to sit down. Meanwhile, Hanje nudged at me curious to know why I hadn't told her I knew Levi.
"Well you see-"
"We met today," Levi cut me off.
Hanje let out a hearty laugh and patted my back, "well isn't that nice! Now y/n, shorty here can be a little bit of a grumpy man sometimes so I must warn you, but overall he's an absolute bab-"
"Oi that's more than enough four eyes," Levi hissed and Hanje laughed in reply.
She moved her glasses to a side to wipe away her fake tears and continued, "but y/n here is an angel, so shorty you better not treat her wrong or I don't think I would even need to come when she unleashes her inner bea-"
"HANJE," I whined tugging at her arm in attempt to stop her. She grinned in response and pinched my cheeks, "well I'm going to go make our orders okay? I'll see you later Shorty!" with that she ran off to the counter.
"Thank you for that Levi," I smiled to which he only replied with a grunt.
"You thanked me enough for today brat."
I rolled my eyes at the nickname, "I told you not to call me that."
"Tch," with that he walked back to his table not sparing a second glance.
Levi's pov
Snap out of it Levi, you've done your job now read in peace.
I stared at my book finding myself reading the same sentence over and over. Glancing up from my book a little I'm met with the not so subtle looks of y/n's friends.
Why were they looking at me like that? I noticed how Hanje had a smug grin on her face and I rolled my eyes.
What was she smiling about?
My gaze shifted towards y/n who was listening intently to one of the girls. Suddenly the room felt too hot to my liking and I reached for my cravat, loosening it a bit. My breathing increased a little as her (e/c) eyes met mine.
She gave me a warm smile to which I felt my gaze automatically begin to soften.
What's wrong with me? Snap out of it Levi.
Soon enough I heard them get up.
Don't look.
But I couldn't help it.
Eyeing them as subtly as possible I realised they were going to leave as they picked their things up. I tore my gaze off and returned back to my book with a sigh.
Y/n's pov
"Say do you like Levi?"
I choked on nothing but air, "Hanje! What? Noo! I just met him and that would just be wierd-"
"Oh so you're saying you'd like him in time?"
"No wait what? I mean I-" I couldn't find the words to reply to her and seeing this she took the opportunity to give me a proud smile.
"Guys, we should leave.." Riley spoke up as she looked out the window.
"What why?" Hanje frowned.
"It's going to rain and it's a little bit of a walk back to y/n's place right?"
I hummed in agreement seeing as the sky was getting gloomy by the second. Everyone got up and gathered their things and headed for the door.
I stood up last and just as I was about to leave I heard a voice call out for me.
"Oi, are you really going to leave it again?" I saw Levi walking upto me.
"Huh? Leave what?"
He pointed at the table and I noticed a book on it, but not the same one. This one belonged to Hange.
"Oh that's Hanje's she must have forgotten it," I reached out for the book and simultaneously, he did the same.
I pulled my hand away as soon as it landed on his, but he swiftly took my hand in his. With the other he rummaged through his pocket and stuffed a piece of paper in my hand.
"What's this?"
"See for yourself."
I unfolded the paper slowly and when I did, I swear my heart skipped a beat. I tried my best to swallow the lump in my throat, and force some words out.
"W-what is this?"
"Tch. What do you think?"
"I-"
"You what?"
"I-yes.."
For the first time that day, I saw the corner of his lips curl into a small smile. It was a smile that lasted only for a few seconds alright, but it was enough to make my heart flutter.
"I'll see you later brat.." he walked past me towards the counter but not before calling out for me once more.
"Oh and y/n?" he looked at me over his shoulder.
"Hmm?"
"Don't be late," he said with a hint of playfulness in his voice.
I shook my head with a quiet laugh glancing down at the paper in my hands;
Tomorrow noon, here. For tea? - Levi

Maybe, we did get a SolHwi endgame after all.
The first thing that kept me sober when I woke this morning is the aroma of my coffee and the realizations that hit me after watching Law School’s finale. Everyone was kind of disappointed with how Sol A and Joon Hwi’s (SolHwi) ending didn’t reach their expectations. Well, of course,  I include myself. I, too, wasn’t that satisfied. And maybe, the reason why we aren’t as satisfied as we should be is because we’re actually expecting a more blunt confession than a subtle one. But in all honesty, if we are going to decode piece by piece, we can say that they’re truly meant for each other. Maybe, JTBC didn’t include the confession thing because they wanted to stick with the fact that Law School is not a romance, hence, a legal drama. Which is acceptable. We’re just the ones who expected that it was.
In Law School episode 16, we saw how Sol A’s treatment towards Joon Hwi changed (I hope you noticed that). The way she stares at him and the way she gets conscious every time Joon Hwi gets close to her, is too obvious and safe to say that the feelings are mutual. I actually enjoyed episode 16 if we are going to tackle about SolHwi’s relationship. But if we are going to talk about beyond that, I can say that I was disappointed. And we’ll talk about that later.
Going back to SolHwi (because that’s the reason why I started to write this anyway lol). The crumbs that I got during the finale was enough. And unlike other fans, I wasn’t actually expecting a kissing scene, hug scene or whatever lovey-dovey thing that is, because in all honesty, I love how Joon Hwi and So A give me butterflies everytime they do their own thing. You know? the thing wherein they’re not that intimate when showing their affection towards each other.
Most dramas are like that and it gets boring and cringey. Not like in Joon Hwi and Sol A’s case, the love between them doesn’t look like it was rushed and flew smoothly, instead. It feels more genuine that you’d actually think that they’re dating for real. I can say that there was a loveline and JTBC made us see it for ourselves without bluntly telling us. I am sure that they’re truly soulmates and knowing that makes me feel relieved.
Especially when Kang Sol A said to Joonwhi, “I’ll be rooting for you in your uncle’s place.” And Joonhwi replied, “I’ll be rooting for you too.” Man! That's another way of exchanging I love yous for me. And believe me, that’s the sweetest and prettiest thing.
On the other hand, if we are going to address how the whole finale went… I’d be frank if I say that it’s still lacking. There are so many queries that aren’t provided with better explanations and answers. Like, why the hell Seung Jae decided to study law? Why the hell did he grab Lee Man Ho’s collar in the first episode (if I’m not mistaken)? No one would dare to grab someone’s collar unless you have a strong motive to do so. Right?
The first episodes are full of cases and trials. The trial that really took time was Yang Jong Hoon’s that they forgot to put some details on Assemblyman Ko Hyeong So, which in fact, his trial should be well detailed. I expected that his trial wouldn’t go like this. It feels so rushed. Lee Man Ho’s death was too.
Everything feels so rushed.
In Seo Ji Ho’s case, I was also expecting that they would show us at least a glimpse of how the trial against Prosecutor Jin went. But I guess it's expectation vs reality, indeed.
But all in all, I enjoyed watching the finale. I’m just kind of still hoping that it  gets a second season. Or if we are fortunate enough, I’m genuinely anticipating for Kim Beom and Hye Young to have a project together as lead couples, because why not? ^_^
Sighs. Anyway, we have finally reached the end. I hope y’all enjoyed watching law school as much as I did. I never thought that I’d get attached to a certain drama, like law school. I’ve learned so much and even was inspired to become a lawyer/prosecutor if fate would let me.
Watching law school made me realize that not everyday… Everyone's okay. It made me realize that at the end of the day, there will be those ones in the higher positions that will drag those unprivileged individuals down. There will be those who possess the so-called crab mentality. There will be those parents who are willing to sacrifice their children's souls in order to save their ego. There will be those who are abused and can’t sleep at night thinking, what did they do wrong to experience that kind of brutality. There will be those who are greedy with money. And the ones who are willing to risk it all to make law just.
And that’s what matters for me. The moral that we have learned. Not only in law but also in life.

Blue Fire Tree
Prompt: Everlasting (last day omgggg) | Gift for @tinaillustrations ! Hope you like this fluffy piece! I enjoyed writing this one. 🤗| Happy HitsuHina Week! @hitsuhina-week 💛💙
“Fire trees should be blue not red,” Ichika mumbles while filling in the traced pattern of the tree on the canvass as Hinamori gathers her unruly red mane into a semblance of a bun. Her charge was a Shinigami apprentice and had the hodgepodge attitude of both of her parents. She was sarcastic, blunt, inquisitive, passionate, and kind.
Renji thought she was the best person to teach his daughter common spells to start off her training. Not that Hinamori disliked being the resident kido expert. She particularly loved the monicker, but there were times she felt she didn’t deserve the title. Like today when, for some other reason, Ichika and her was blindsided by arts and crafts.
“Wouldn’t you like the flowers to resemble your hair?” Hinamori clips the last of the strands and looks over the child’s shoulder. The colors spill out of the lines and the scenery seems to change from summer to winter.
“But blue is the hottest color. Imagine trees blooming with the brightest flames, the most intense warmth, and the most lasting flowers.” Ichika finishes the piece with a last dash of blue paint. The apprentice turns to her and asks, “Does it look so desolate?”
“No, not really. To me, winter has always been warm.“
Someone coughs behind them to get their attention. Hitsugaya Toushiro, captain of the 10th Division, stands awkwardly at the entrance of the dojo with a tray of tea and pot of biscuits. It doesn’t escape her notice that he used the tea set she gave last Christmas, and this observation makes her feel giddy inside.
Maybe I’m just appreciative of people who use my gifts, Hinamori justifies to herself.
“Hello, Captain Hitsugaya. Is that for us or for Vice-Captain Momo?” Ichika greets him as she takes the tray off his hands.
The blush creeps on the captain’s face just as quickly as his brows furrow in annoyance. He quickly glares at the mischievous remark of Ichika and redirects his gaze to his equally flustered childhood best friend. “This was not of my own good will. I was threatened by Byakuya to take good care of his precious niece, and it just so happens that this space is under my jurisdiction.”
Hinamori tilts her head in a slight apology. “I hope we don’t bother you too much. Would you like to join us for some art session? Ichika loves to paint today.”
He almost says something, but he stops himself. His stance goes from alert to rigid, and tension fills the air. “Maybe some other time.” Ichika glances from her current teacher to the captain and back to her teacher again.
“Oh, sorry for taking up your time.” Hinamori slightly bows, unsure of what transpired just now, and Hitsugaya nods in return. Before he is completely out of her sight, she calls out to him again.
“Shiro-chan?” He glances back at the sound of his nickname. “Thanks for the tea.”
He smiles in mild annoyance before he flash-steps out of their sight. “It’s Captain Hitsugaya to you.”
--------------------------
“Something’s bothering you,” Rangiku says to Hinamori as she slides beside her in the ramen booth. “Your treat in exchange for my wisdom.” She proceeds to order her usual ramen and sake combo.
“How was your trip to the Land of the Living?” Hinamori asks, obviously skirting the issue she wishes to raise.
“Kazui is subdued and gentle like his mother, but somehow, he manages to get into fights with bullies on the street. It’s his Ichigo genes.” The combo meal arrives along with two shot glasses. “How are you doing with the chaotic devil spawn Ichika?”
“She’s progressing really fast with the kido, but she gets so distracted easily. It’s cute though that Renji and Rukia are not pressuring her. Great parents. How nice it must be.”
Rangiku side-eyes her while slurping the thick noodles. “How nice what now – “
Hinamori plays with her empty bowl and fidgets with her chopsticks. “To not be alone.”
She chokes on her noodles and quickly downs half of the sake bottle. “Oh, this is great news! I have someone on my mind who would like to be in your company forever.”
Hinamori gives no response and instead continues fiddling with her bowl. “How nice it is to be also like Shiro-chan, content and busy enough to be single. How do I become like your captain, Rangiku?”
The smile fades from the woman’s face and is replaced by a bustling vein near her temple. “I’m sorry what did that short man do or say to you?”
“I asked him if he would like to do some art with us, you know, help me with babysitting for a few minutes, but he literally stiffened like a stick. Seems like he doesn’t want to waste time with kids or do any family-related activities. Or maybe he’s just too busy, captain duties and all.”
And yet he took the time to bring you tea, a voice screams inside her mind.
“That’s….rude,” an exasperated Rangiku remarks. She pours a glass for Hinamori and decides on a plan. “Unless you’re seeing him as….?”
“Huh? Oh no no no.” Hinamori downs the liquid in one gulp, suddenly embarrassed by her friend’s insinuation. “We’re just friends, childhood friends. I…don’t see Shiro-chan that way.”
“Sure, whatever you say Momo. Do you want me to introduce you to some people?”
Hinamori looks up at her, doe-eyed.
“I guess that’s a yes.”
--------------------------
Hinamori actually forgot about her request to Rangiku as she and her student started to settle in a rather serious kido training. The plan apparently was set to happen after a week when she came across a bulletin announcing her quest for a perfect match through a one-day interview application. This was the first time Hinamori wanted to be swallowed by the void and never return to Seiretei.
She finds herself visiting Division 10 HQ every afternoon but to no avail since coincidentally, Rangiku has some errands to do in Karakura, and won’t be back until the date of the interview. Or maybe it has also something to do with Hinamori avoiding Hitsugaya and having to do all the explaining. And so she had no choice but to wait for the inevitable day.
“Uhhh Vice-Captain Matsumoto, you said introduce, not organize a whole dating screening process!” Hinamori’s voice goes a pitch higher for each word, but Rangiku is too busy arranging the people lining up to notice her.
Her current captain, Shinji Hirako, chuckles beside the blondie, amused by the growing line of eligible Shinigami singles in their HQ. “You are quite the eye candy in our division, huh. Didn’t expect you’d have this many suitors.” He squeezes his vice-captain’s shoulder as form of reassurance. “You should have told me, Hinamori. I could have set you up in an arranged marriage.”
“Captain, that’s atrocious!” Hinamori protests. She walks over to Rangiku to disperse the line, but Yumichika and Ikkaku move to her side and grabs her midway through her litany of objections. They lead her to a makeshift container with two chairs facing each other and a table in between.
“This is ridiculous,” Hinamori mumbles her breath, her energy already defeated by the two dumbasses in front of her.
“Well to be fair, Hinamori, this is a long time coming,” Yumichika says.
“And the result necessitates this kind of method so stop mumbling and screen your admirers, babe,” Ikkaku supplies. Irritated, Hinamori chases them off with two fireballs.
The first ten Shinigami ‘applicants’ were too insufferable as they were clearly aiming for the prestige of her position.
“If dating a vice-captain would give me a higher seat in Gotei 13 then why am I still single?” she bats the question to the 11th person who sat across her. When they didn’t give her an answer, she sighs, “Next please.”
“Would you know what’s my favorite brand of tea?”
“Uhh, Robusta.”
“I believe that’s coffee. Next please.”
“Hello, vice-captain Hinamori, I brought you peaches. They’re my favorite.”
“I’m allergic to them. I’m sorry. Next please?”
“What are your strengths?”
“Well, I can do shunpo.”
“That’s basic Shinigami skills.”
“…………..”
“…………..”
“I’ll see myself out. Thank you for your time, vice-captain.”
“I know you’re traumatized by Aizen-“
The container collapses as Hinamori summons Tobiume.
--------------------------
“I think I will be forever alone.” Hinamori looks on as her fellow vice-captains clean up the mess she incurred over the unfinished statement earlier.
“I’m really sorry if I did the whole thing over the top,” Rangiku tells her sincerely. She hugs the raven-haired girl and waits in silent for the commotion to die down. “Though the last one was really foul, and you were valid to be angry.”
“I was afraid I’d burn down Captain Shinji’s quarters.”
“You can, just to piss him off. The whole process is so draining, huh?” Hinamori nods at the observation. Rangiku continues, seemingly voicing her own thoughts, “It’s hard to put yourself out there especially when they don’t know batshit about you. Would be easier if you have common interests or when they’re already your friend.”
The last phrase is said so pointedly that Hinamori’s mind automatically pictures Hitsugaya. She runs along with her imagination. How easy it would be indeed to spend the rest of her life with him. And as if her mind conjured him, the 10th Division Captain comes into view alongside Ichika. It looks like her student dragged him to the unfortunate event.
There’s an angry glint in his eyes that Hinamori noticed. It was the torn expression he wore when she wounded her knees back when they were kids, the same frown when she told him she would kill for the traitor, the same worried eyes when she almost died. But his eyes refuse to meet hers.
“You missed all the fun, Captain.” Rangiku stretches out her arms as she stands up. She gestures for the rest of their friends to come nearer so they could re-group and go home. “It was a bad plan, and I owe Hinamori one. So we’re kinda ready for your scolding.”
Hitsugaya stays silent throughout the shuffling of his fellow Shinigami, in fact he remains frozen for too long that Ichika elbows him to get a response out of him. “Come on, you ruminated one week for this, and I had to physically stop you from harassing the interested applicants.”
“Shut up, Ichika,” the silver-haired captain mutters.
“I’ll tell on you to Uncle Byakuya!” the redhead sticks out her tongue and runs over to the side of Rangiku.
More annoyed than ever, Hitsugaya grunts and storms off towards Hinamori. “I’m not here to scold anyone. I’m here for the….dating application,” he gulps amid the collective gasps that ran through the group and the muffled laughter of Rangiku who clearly foresaw this.
“Well, what can I say, but fucking finally!” The blonde swigs a new bottle of wine from inside her robes and goes to do a little crowd control.
Hinamori’s eyes get a little bit bigger, and she stares at him with mouth agape, but she lets him grab her hand, in a gentle manner that he usually does, and brings her to the farthest fire tree in the area.
“Shiro-chan, what did you mean……” She continues to stare at his hand who somehow refuses to let go of her yet.
Ironically, he is also staring at the same hand, unsure whether to let go right now before he can actually say something. “I don’t know why you had to go through all of that.”
“I’m..I’m still confused, to be honest. It was just a passing feeling of loneliness, and I rambled to Rangiku which she took seriously….” Hinamori knows she is starting to word vomit out of nervousness, but she halts when he finally lets her go. Maybe she has misunderstood his presence again.
Hitsugaya raises his palm to her. “Would you let me…uhhh…word vomit this time?”
She slowly nods, rather shocked at his insistence, and even more so when he chooses to ramble.
“Momo, I have a cold reiatsu. My touch is never warm. But I know you like green tea, steeped in warm water for exactly 10 minutes, and that you don’t put sugar. You are afraid of storms, and you need a blanket around you to calm down. You like watermelon, but I think it’s because I subjected you to multiple summers of conditioning. You’re my childhood best friend. You’re hardworking. You are a kido expert. You earned your right to be a vice-captain, and you’ll do greater things.
And I know it’s not enough to say that I know you, I’ve always known you, but will it be enough for you to allow me to stay beside you?”
Hinamori leans against the trunk of the fire tree, breathless from his train of words. “Oh my god, this is too overwhelming. I thought you hated being not single.”
“What?” Hitsugaya looks at her with a puzzled expression.
“You don’t like Ichika. Or doing art…with kids.”
“Well, Ichika is a brat to me, but she’s a good student and will be a good Shinigami like her parents.” He nurses his temples for the growing headache. “Momo, listen to me.” He steps closer to her and makes sure she’s only looking at him. “I panicked because I visualized you and me….and you know. It wasn’t right when I haven’t even told you anything yet.”
“Oh.” The moment of realization dawns on her. “Oh, that’s great.”
“So we can finally go back to how we were.” Hitsugaya lets out a shaky breath as he sits on the grass and watches as the red petals of the fire tree shower them lightly.
A blushing Hinamori crouches down to his level. “Well, not quite. You should know, Shiro-chan, your reiatsu has always been warm and comforting to me.” She reaches out to take his hand and intertwines their fingers.
Hitsugaya smiles as he silently thanks himself that he outgrew her by two inches so he could easily slip a kiss on her forehead. “It’s Captain Hitsugaya.”
--------------------------
Ichika tries to see beyond the wall of spectators but Rangiku is not letting anyone through. She huffs indignantly, wanting to know whether her incessant prodding and pestering of the oblivious Hitsugaya bore some fruit. She has no choice but to juice out all the details later on from her uncle.
On second thought, maybe she won’t have to. Blue petals swayed with the light breeze of the wind, and on the far edge of the Fifth Division’s HQ is a lone blue fire tree.

A/N: I adore Remus so much. He’s such a special character to me. So, thank you for the request! Enjoy! I also attached my Remus Lupin playlist, which is full of songs that remind me of this perfect boi :) Check it out if you want!
masterlist | my remus lupin playlist | read on ao3
The apartment they chose to meet at was always the same; it was a small room with a comfy, forest green couch, a cozy bed, a small kitchenette, and a door that led to a bathroom. It was rather plain as well, with dark red walls and a plush carpet below their feet. On one of the walls, there was a large window that overlooked a calm city. The normal hustle and bustle of city life was extinguished by a heavy downpour.
While most people made their dreamscapes extravagant and complicated, as it is their mind after all, Remus and Y/N found comfort in the simplicity. The pair just needed a comfortable spot to talk and get to know eachother.
“And then Lily just sort of dropped the bomb,” Remus stated, sitting on the couch opposite of Y/N. His long fingers wrapped around a white mug and he held his tea close to his body.
“I can’t believe she’s pregnant!” Y/N had her legs crossed and a plate of chocolate chip cookies situated in her lap. “We haven’t even met yet, but people our age are already having kids.”
Remus heartily chuckled, raising his mug to his lips and taking a sip. “It’ll happen in due time, darling. Besides, it’s nice to have you to myself without outside influences,” He coughs. “My friends skewing your views on me.”
“I know your friends are lovely, based on how you speak so fondly of them.” Y/N took a big bite of one of the chocolate chip cookies. It was chewy and gooey, making it absolutely delicious. “Why are dream cookies so good? Like, seriously, these things are to die for.”
“Because they’re a figment of your imagination. They can be as yummy or as disgusting as you make them to be.” Remus pulled at the collar of his gray t-shirt, making the seams rip. “Do you ever wish I was more, I don’t know, exciting?”
“What do you mean?” Chocolate smudged on the corners of her mouth.
Remus grinned and licked his thumb, rubbing it over her delicate skin to clean her face. “I mean, our dream world is a one-bedroom apartment and all we ever do is talk. I don’t know, I hear Sirius has a rollercoaster in his dreamscape. I fell dull in comparison.”
Y/N fondly smiled at her soulmate, moving so she was sitting directly next to him. “Rollercoasters are overrated. I like the comfort our little apartment gives us, it’s nice and warm in here and I have you next to me.” She set the cookies on the coffee table in front of the couch. “We don’t need to go on extravagant adventures, you seem to have enough of those when you’re awake.”
“You deserve better, though. Not a guy in his late teens that is constantly tired and would rather sit on a couch drinking tea than going on a rollercoaster.”
“I deserve you, and you are more than enough for me.” Y/N sighed, moving Remus’ hair out of his eyes. He couldn’t feel her physically, but it was still a nice gesture. “I’m not exactly itching to go on grand adventures. That’s what meeting you is for.”
“You’re only 5,437 miles away, anyway.” Remus’ mouth twitched into a sad smile. “That’s nothing.”
“Hey, it’s better than 5,438 miles.”
“You got me there.”
~
“What would you do if I came to London and surprised you?” Y/N laid her head on Remus’ thigh while he moved his hand through her hair, trying to imagine what it felt like.
“I’d probably get rather quiet and not know what to do if I’m being honest,” Remus observed how Y/N’s locks flowed through his fingers like water and how it contrasted against the forest green upholstery of the couch.
“Maybe let out a few cuss words?”
“Why are you so obsessed with me cussing?”
“Your accent is hot, especially when you say ‘fuck.’ I like to hear it.” Y/N smiled cheekily and watched Remus’ pupils dilate.
“Fuck,” The words fall off his tongue with his Welsh accent. Much of the Welsh had faded, due to living at Hogwarts and now London, but it was still very apparent in his speech.  Y/N giggled and squirmed.
“Yeah, like that. Sometimes you just slip it into casual conversations and I have to compose myself.”
“Americans are weird, it’s just an accent.”
“No, it’s not just an accent. It’s your accent so I like to hear it. Sue me!” Y/N threw her hands up in false anguish, lightly bumping Remus’ stomach.
“You’re so dramatic, love.”
“I am not dramatic! Just every time I compliment my favorite person in the world he says I’m weird! Maybe you’re the weird one, Lupin!”
“Fine, I’m the weird one. Does that make you happy?” His voice sounded exasperated, but he was staring down at her with the fondest expression.
“Extremely.”
~
“Do you think Sirius, James, and Peter would like me?” Y/N sat on the counter of the dream kitchenette.
“They already do like you, dear.” Remus stood between her legs with his hands resting on her thighs. With her sitting so high, they were almost the same height. “Why?”
“Well they’re important to you, and you’re important to me, so I want them to like me. It would suck if your friends hated me.”
“You don’t have to worry about that. They even have a nickname for you,” Remus looked away, his cheeks turned slightly red. This piqued Y/N’s attention.
“A nickname? What is it?”
“Button.” Remus’ cheeks were dusted a light rose color and his ears were bright red.
“Button? Why Button?”
“Well, a few years ago we were all going around and describing our soulmates. I said that you were as cute as a button and I guess the name stuck.”
Butterflies erupted in Y/N’s stomach and she planted a kiss on his cheek. “Why can’t I just apparate to you again?”
“We talked about this, love. You’ve never been here and I’ve never been there so you can’t apparate straight here. And the plane ride between us is almost 11 hours.”
“Fucking hell.” Y/N sighed in frustration.
“Fucking hell, indeed.”
~
“I did something, and you have to promise not to be mad at me.” Y/N paced around the kitchenette while Remus lounged on the couch. His head shot up at her words.
“What did you do?” His mind raced a mile a minute and he prepared himself for the worst. Y/N probably found someone better than him and wanted to cut off contact.
“It’s nothing bad, relax.”
“Well if it’s not bad, why would I be mad?” Y/N sighed and sat next to him on the couch.
“Well, in the real world I’m sort of on a plane to London right now.”
Remus’ eyes bulged and he jumped off the couch. “You’re coming? Here? Really? Now?”
“Well, I’ll be there in about four hours.” Remus was now pacing.
“Why didn’t you tell me?! Mine and Sirius’ flat is a wreck!”
“I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to back out for a silly reason like a messy apartment.” Y/N stood and reached for her boy. “I love you and I couldn’t wait any longer.”
“Four hours?”
“Yes, four hours. And I need a ride from the airport.”
~
Y/N stood atop the escalator and looked at the crowd below, scanning all the faces for her love. Her face crinkled when she didn’t see Remus but two young men holding a piece of cardboard with her name written in black marker on it. She realized that the two were, in fact, James Potter and Sirius Black.
“Sirius and James?” She said walking up, suitcase in hand. Both were much taller than Y/N and extremely handsome, making her feel slightly uncomfortable under their gaze. Both young men grinned down at her.
“Ah, you must be Button. Nice to know Remus talks about us enough for you to recognize our handsome faces,” Sirius exclaims, putting the cardboard under his arm and nudging James. “You’re even prettier than Rem described.”
Y/N rolled her eyes. “Well, you aren’t exactly hard to miss. Long hair, leather jacket, combat boots, overly flirty,” Y/N turns to James. “Glasses, The Beatles shirt, tired expression. Obviously, you’re James Potter and Sirius Black.” She smiles and pulls her hair behind her ear. “Congrats on the baby, by the way.”
James beams, “Thanks! Kinda crazy considering the circumstances, but you know how it goes.” He takes Y/N’s luggage and starts walking towards the exit. “You threw Moony into quite a panic, you know. It was one of the best things I’ve seen in a while.”
“It had to be done, he’s been putting it off for years. Something about not wanting me to be disappointed, whatever that means.”
“Ah, classic moons. Glad you came though, really shakes up our daily schedule.” Sirius responds. The three make their way to a Volkswagon Beetle and James pops the trunk to put Y/N’s luggage inside.
“Why didn’t he come and get me? Not that I mind the company, of course.” Sirius crawls into the back middle seat, leaving Y/N to sit shotgun with James driving. “Woah, I forgot it’s on the wrong side.”
“He pussied out, I’m sure you know how nervous he gets,” James pulled out onto the street and down the road. “And what’s on the wrong side?”
“Your car and the road, James. It’s on the wrong side.”
“It’s not on the wrong side, maybe you’re on the wrong side. Ever think of that?” He turned his head to look at her, the thick frame glasses on his face sliding down his nose.
“See! You agree! I am currently on the wrong side!” Y/N giggled and hugged her backpack to her chest.
Sirius also lets out a loud, bellowing laugh. Y/N felt as though she had known these two her entire life; in a way, she had.
The three pulled into a parking structure and she exited the beetle. (The car, she had come to discover, was named Lennon, after John Lennon himself.) She hadn’t been nervous up until this moment, staring at the apartment door. James patted her shoulder and smiled.
“It’ll be okay. He’s the same Remus you’ve been talking to for the past however many years.”
“Yeah, if you even get him to talk,” Sirius pushes his way between the two and towards the door, lugging Y/N’s bag into the flat. He drops the luggage in the middle of the living room and flops onto the couch. “Oh, Moonbear, your lover is here! Get your fine ass out of your room, before I take it out here myself!”
Y/N cautiously pads into the house, taking in the atmosphere of the home. It was very similar to their dreamscape, very small and sparsely decorated. However, the flat seemed to have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a few closets. The livingroom had various framed band posters hanging on the walls, as well as a big framed picture of the entire friend group. Y/N could point out who was who easily as she observed it.
“Lily is so pretty,” She said aloud and pointed between two blondes. “Which one is Marlene and which one is Mary?”
Sirius and James look at eachother and share a laugh. “Merlin, he really does talk about us.” James points at the girl with the big, poofy hair. “That one’s Marls, the other is Mary.”
“Makes sense, since I’m assuming that’s Dorcas?” Y/N’s gaze moves from the blonde to a pretty brunette next to her.
“Oi, Moons, I didn’t realize you spoke about us so much,” James says, making Y/N turn around. In all his glory, Remus Lupin stood in the living room, decked out in jeans, and a The Smiths shirt. He was perfectly imperfect, and Y/N’s entire body warmed. His gaze didn’t leave Y/N as James spoke but he allowed his jaw to grow slightly slack and his hands to pull his shirt down.
“You’re even more beautiful in person, how is that possible?” His voice was breathy and light as if he was in complete awe. The light from the windows highlighted his cheekbones and made his features look unbelievably sharp, creating shadows that danced down his neck. He looked heavenly in absolutely every way possible, and this moment made her entire travel day worth it. Y/N blushed and stepped towards him.
“Nice shirt, missed you at the airport, though.”
Remus rolls his eyes and pulls his girl close to him. “Sorry ‘bout that, sunshine.”
Y/N nestled her face into his chest, taking deep breaths of his cologne. He was even better than she expected, all the way down to the wool socks he wore. Remus’ hand came to gently stroke her hair before looking up to see his friends. Unsurprisingly, though, the living room was now empty and Sirius’ bedroom door was closed.
“You smell so good, is that weird to say?” Y/N mumbles into the fabric of his shirt. “Like pine, and candy. I don’t know how to describe it.” She felt his chest vibrate as he laughed.
“I can’t believe you’re finally here.”
“Had’ta be sneaky, catch you off guard.” Y/N looked up into his eyes and glanced down to his lips.
The soft look of admiration she had seen so many times crossed his features as he leaned down to capture her lips in a kiss.

CW// Desrealization, dissoci@tion, PTSD, amnesia, conditioning, pet whump, creepy caretaker and some angst.
It was late evening on a Friday. An unusually lazy day, where Zarai had gone back home earlier than closing time. Although, it had become almost routine to take the long way home on Fridays.
When that happened she got in her car, put the radio and went around the city. Albus got weirdly excited whenever they passed something familiar, like a supermarket or the highway to work. Because it meant they were soon to get home. However, he also deeply enjoyed seeing new things.
The school with white tiles and the copper statue of a man in robes, or the library next to it with a modern glass and steel structure that allowed to see through the many students fighting to stay awake during finals week.
He was marveled by the colors of all the small and big stores in the business district. He always tried to memorize their colors so he could draw them later.
His glasses had now made the world clearer to him and used any opportunity to burn into his memory every sight.
Albus particularly liked passing the park. If he stretched his neck a bit and squinted, he could see the lake hidden by a thick layer of trees. Somehow, it sparked a certain displeasure on the back of his head to catch a glimpse of water, but he loved the colors reflected in the water when the sun went down.
He was looking at the windows of a candy store when Zarai asked him the usual question on those days.
“Do you see anything familiar?”
He gave one last look at the intersection. The candy store in one side, the entrance to a larger building on the other and a newspaper stand in front of a coffee shop.
“No, ma’am” it was the answer most times. She would sigh and put her hand on her cheek before making the car move again.
He would then lower his head, rounding his thumbs over each other before looking out the window again. Trying to catch something that was familiar to satisfy his obviously displeased owner.
“Nothing?” She insisted.
“Only those, ma’am” he pointed to the signs that read the highway was 300 meters to the right. She sighed loudly before turning right. “I´m sorry”
“It´s ok, Al. I think is enough for today. We went north last week, so. Next week we will go a bit further to the west” she told herself. Albus nodded, wondering what exactly was she looking for.
He rested his head on the window, staring outside as the radio changed songs.
A metallic sound making the harmony of a guitar solo. Just before the battery started, his fingers were already tapping to the rhythm. In perfect sync.
It took a bit before Zarai caught him humming to the song. Lost in thought staring outside the window.
“...I am leaving. This is starting to feel like its right before my eyes. And I can taste it, it’s my sweet beginning“he whispered along, before the guitar riff pulled a smile on his face. “This was Annie’s favorite” Zarai glanced at him, surprised. She listened to his singing, waiting for a follow up of that Annie. But it didn’t come. The song kept playing making company to his humming.
“I can tell is what you want, you don’t want to be alone, you don’t want to be alone…”
Zarai tightened her grip on the wheel.
“But you’ve known it the whole time. Yeah, you’ve known it the whole time…”
She waited until the song was over to ask “So who’s this Annie?” She asked as she turned right to enter the road leading to a dreaded place by both. Surrounded by thick woods, WRU´s training facility poked through the tree tops and made the boy next to her tense up.
She kept a tight eye on the road as her head made a movie that sparked up a slight pain on her back. However, she didn´t dare show that to the boy who looked as if he had forgotten how to breathe until they had crossed that part of the highway.
Albus turned his head slightly to make sure they were leaving the facility behind with a hand settled on his collar. Twisting the buckles between his fingers as if trying to make sure it was indeed still wrapped around his neck.
“So” Zarai started, making the boy snap back at her “Who´s Annie?”
 Albus looked at her, puzzled.
“Annie, Ma’am?” He repeated the words, strange on his mouth suddenly.
“Yeah, you said that was her favorite song” Albus eyebrows furrowed slightly as he tilted his head, not understanding.
“I did?” He looked at the road and stayed quiet for a while, rummaging through his memories and only flaring up the pain behind his eyes “I’m sorry, I- I don’t remember, ma’am”
“It’s fine, don’t force yourself” she sighed, taking another look at him before pulling her eyes back to the rows of houses.
During those weekly strolls, Albus had told her intermittently something reminded him of Annie. The newspaper stand in front of the coffee shop was where he bought her comics. The statue, where they would meet if they got lost. The park was where they would go after school and stay there until deep night.
But every time, he forgot immediately he had even said anything. It wasn’t abnormal he tuned out after talking sometimes, but she wondered if it was just part of his training or if it was a coping mechanism to protect him from bad memories.
Regardless, she would wait for the day he would tell her something that stuck. Maybe something that would make him remember his Annie. Whoever that was. But she couldn´t help but wonder if it would stay as a broken fragment of his memory, unable to recall it properly forever. Like his name.
“Albus?” Zarai asked, tapping on the wheel.
“Yes, ma´am?”
She gouged his face, looking for something that showed he was uncomfortable, that it pained him to hear her call, but there was nothing but eagerness and a faint smile, just like when she named him.
“Are you hungry?” she changed the subject before pulling over to the mall close to their home "Let´s get something for dinner, yeah? It´s been a rough week and I´m dying to get something that doesn’t come in my diet”
“That would be amazing, ma´am” the boy said with unusual sincerity. The bags under his eyes were only getting darker as the days passed.
“We´re going to get you new clothes too. You basically swim in most of them” The boy blushed slightly as he looked down at himself. “It´s a good thing. I´m glad some fit you now”
“Are you happy with me, ma´am?” he suddenly asked her as she parked the car. It took her a second to smile back at him.
“Yeah, I am” she said and almost laughed when he saw his eyes spark “What about you?” the boy´s smile fractured “Are you happy here? With me?”
“I...I´m allowed a bed, and take hot baths, and have...friends. I´m even allowed to go out with my I.D. alone and earn money for myself” he started pointing out with a smile, but Zarai took a deep breath.
“But are you happy?”
The boy´s smile cracked again and his eyes fell down before he quickly pulled them back up. The answer to her question took a bit longer to come out.
“I couldn´t be happier with my life as your Pet” the boy said in that broken record tone and a fake smile. The fog on his eyes only made it clearer to her he didn’t mean it.
“I see. I´m glad” she sighed before Albus stepped out of the car and rounded it to open her door for her. She reeled back the water on her eyes and slid down her sunglasses as she stepped out of the car and walked, knowing the albino walked one step behind her. Knowing he would never try to cross that distance.

“What do you want Romanoff?” My mood today was the worst that I ever had. First: I went to sleep way too late, with this Vanessa thing and looking the intel I got from the phones I hacked last night. Second: The sun was like a fireball and Carol made sure to keep the blinds open. Third: She was still pissed at me, if possible, she was even more mad than she was yesterday. Fourth: I was still working on forgiving Natasha for pairing us. Fifth: I slept over the tv controls, so this thing created a hole in my skin. Sixth: I was in a bad mood. “Trouble in paradise?” She teased and she was oh so lucky that my powers didn’t include teleport ability, she’d be kissing the floor right now if I did. I let a growl from my throat be the only answer she’d receive, and I heard her laughing lightly at the other side. She cleared her throat and changed to her business tone. “I was looking through everything you collected last night. There’s a lot of good stuff here. If I call Interpol or NATO all of your gaming partners would be having a lot of trouble.” “Will you?” I asked while seating at the floor and soothing my side where the control wrinkled my skin. “No. Even Steve agrees that we need to keep this in storage and wait till we see where this is going. How’s the interaction with them?” “You want to know if they’ll bring me to their organization? Well, for Beauffort’s side I think he genuinely likes me. But Greene…” I clicked my tongue in thought. “I can’t read him that easily, I don’t know if he’s just really guarded or if he’s suspecting at me.” I got up to my feet and pick up a shirt and covered my arm while letting the waitress coming inside with our breakfast, the smell of coffee hitting my nostrils instantly lifting my mood. I paid and thanked her before closing the door behind her. “But I found out some gold intel, though.” I let out a soft moan when my tongue tasted the coffee. “What are you doing?” Natasha asked. “I’m savoring an amazing mug of coffee, why?” I didn’t understand this sudden interest in what I was doing, instead of discussing the intel. “And where are you?” What the fuck, Nat? “In my room, why?” And she ‘hummed’ in response. I wasn’t in the mood for this stuff today. “What’s going on, Nat?” I heard her taking a deep breath and I could picture her pinching the bridge of her nose, in my mind’s eye. “Where did you go, after you left the club last night?”  Oh. So this is what everything was about. Oh. She thought that I… “You truly think that I’d pick your call if I wasn’t in my room, or had other company?” I never let her give an answer for I continued. “What the hell do you think I was doing?” I could feel the smirk in her voice when she spoke. “well, some people like this kind of exercise in the morning.” I growled at her and I started to look for Carol, so she could have breakfast while still fresh. But she was anywhere to be seem. “Look, Carol called me after you turned off your phone. She was worried and really pissed at you. Actually, she’s probably buying a new phone, right now.” I frowned at that. “What happened to the previous one?” “Ah. C’mon… really?” I remained silent and she took the hint. She sighed then spoke. “She heard clear and well when Greene shoved you towards a hookup, then you just turned off your phone. She told me you two had a fight before you went out. I’m pretty sure her mood escalated after this.” I was so confused that my head hurts. I don’t understand why she was mad, in first place. Did she thought that I would get hurt? Carol Danvers became a puzzle that I just couldn’t solve. “And… What’s the matter?”  I heard Nat choke with something she was drinking. “What’s the matter? She was worried that something bad could’ve happened to you while you were having sex with a random girl.” “Natasha, I…” And before we could say anything else, I heard the door opening with Carol coming inside. She was wearing sunglasses; this was odd since she was inside the building. I changed the subject with Natasha right away, after all, this call should be about our new intel. “So, did you see everything? In my report over the intel, I mention the organization’s name. Spectre.” --------- Hours passed since breakfast and not even one word came out of Carol’s lips, it was unnerving to receive the silence treatment. Tonight was the night, and we still haven’t discussed about what we already know about them. In a few hours we’d have to show up in that ball like we belonged to royalty. We need to look magnificent, like we could belong to a selected group of important people that wanted to control the world. Tonight, we needed to be in a perfect sync like a perfect couple. I gave up and sighing, I addressed to her. “Carol, we need to talk here. We need to work.” Her eyes dart daggers at me when they left the paper she was reading on. “And what do you think I am doing? Crosswords?” Oh, the way she spoke made me want to scream, to fight. Is this how things will be with her? “You can’t act like a bitch the whole gala.” Hm. Maybe I was poking the bear a bit too much, ‘cause she got up from her seat and with two large steps she was standing right in front of me and she was glowing. “Who do you think you are?” She licked her lips and she looked like she was about to burst. Or burst me, for that matter. “You have no right in speaking with me like this.” I remained seated pretending to be unfazed by her outburst, but deep down I just wanted to talk things out, in a very civilized way. However, I had fire running in my veins. I knew I was wrong talking to her like this, but she made me angry as well. “Please. Educate me… how should I speak with you, your Highness?” She turned away from me, but she was still glowing. “You can keep this act all you want. You can try to hurt me all you want, Lara, but I don’t have time for this. I have a job to do, and I’m going to get ready for this damned ball. So, I don’t want to see you or talk to you until it’s time for us to go downstairs.” Her voice was so small that I wanted to beg for mercy till she forgive me. But I do nothing. Our relationship or our truce was already a mess, I didn’t need to add more fuel to this fire by letting my feelings get in the way. She walked towards the wardrobe and back to drop my dress at the chair she was previously seated on. Without spending a glance at me, she closed the bedroom’s partition. Great.
I look at myself in the mirror and I barely recognize myself. With styled hair and make-up on, I was somebody else, I was, indeed, Lara Philipps. My hands traced the patterns in the dress, my left arm safely hidden. The dress was rather simple but still, I thought it was pretty: a scoop neck navy blue dress, satin skirt with a lace bodice and long lace sleeves. Its left sleeve had a silk layer under the lacy details which was covering my arm till my wrist, complemented by a simple silk glove to cover the rest. All set. All I needed was my wife.
I’d, certainly, need to see a doctor after coming home. I know that Carol Susan Jane Danvers was utterly, undeniably and absolutely gorgeous, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the sight of her when she came out of her partition. My heart stopped and started to beat in an erratically pace and I’m sure it gave some flips in my chest. I had a lump in my throat, and a bug in my head told me I should be saying something, for she too was staring at me. But I couldn’t. Suddenly, I forgot why we we’re fighting, why I should hide my feelings, forget how to breath and, sure, how to speak. My mouth was hanging open because Carol’s gently lifted my chin to close it for me. There was a new energy in the room, and I couldn’t understand what it was. Carol was still angry, that’s for sure, but her eyes had a glow that it wasn’t there two hours prior. Carol was about to go out that door with a light purpleish dress, the color reminds me of her power’s glow when they’re flickering around her. Even from distance I could see that it was made of silk and its low-cut showed she wasn’t wearing a bra, her leg was on display since her dress had a tight high slit. When she turned around, my mouth watered all over when I realized it was a backless dress, and I was trying to figure which part should be more sanctified: the small of her back or the muscles marveling her shoulder plates. Two single thin straps forming a X were adorning her back and I had to physically restrain myself to not close the distance between us and kiss every bone on her spine. Seeing her like this with some sort of glow or, like she was from another planet with such ethereal light adorning her frame, was almost too much for my self-control. Right in that moment, I thought that if God was truly a woman, She was standing right in front of me. “You are…” What? Pretty, spectacular, beautiful… nothing suffices. “I… I can’t find words for you.” I finished with a frown and saw that her flawless face had a frown too. “huh... Am I looking good, at least?” She asked. Was she insecure? How could she? “Carol, you are…” I licked my lips, frustrated with myself for not finding the right words to explain to her that, right now, Aphrodite herself would be jealous. “Carol, should be against the law the way you look tonight.” I finally spilled out. Her expressions morphed until a smile graced her lips. “And you are stunning tonight, Lara.” She half whispered and the way she spoke my name made my heart jump to my throat. “But I haven’t forgiven you, yet.” And here we are. Our tenuous truce wouldn’t survive any longer. “What is there to be forgiven?” I saw her fingers tighten their grip around her clutch bag. “Are you out of your mind? I’m your partner, Lara! You turned off your phone last night and left me in the dark!” Her voice was above whisper but was shivering with every word, I wish I could make her see that I knew what I was doing. “Carol, I understand that you were worried, but I was…” “Worried?” She spat out as if this were making her suffocate. “He threw a whore in your lap and you fucking turned off your phone.” Her index finger was jabbing my chest with every word now. “I thought that you’d do something different, that you’d call me to discuss, to find a way out or whatever, but no. You never cared about me.” “Vanessa is not a whore, she’s…” I replied but she never let me finish my sentence. “Are you fucking kidding me? You…” I lifted my hands in surrender, so she let me speak. “I’m sorry I didn’t call. How could I? He was watching me, Carol…So, I took her to Negresco and…” “Stop. I don’t wanna know where you took her to fuck her. I don’t want to hear it.” I was thrown back by her words… Fuck her? Who does she think I am? Oh…Now I understood Natasha’s words. Jesus. What a mess. “Fuck her? Carol, nothing happened between Vanessa and I.” I said softly and only now I realized that she was desperate trying to stop the tears. “What?” She asked hoarsely probably from all these screams. “I took her to Negresco, is another hotel down the beach. I asked a bottle of Bollinger and spiked her flute, so before she could even try to kiss me, she was sleeping like a princess. I left her there with a note thanking her for the amazing night and came back to work on our intel.” I said ducking my head to catch her eyes with mine. “That’s all.” “Are you lying?” My head was running all the reasons why sleeping or not with that woman would be relevant. Well, I found one, but there’s no way this was possible. No. I shook my head from it, I cannot create a parallel universe in my head. I was in love with Carol, yes. But I couldn’t fantasize the idea that she could have feelings towards me. No one could ever love someone like me. I was a killer, assassin, spy, ghost… How can I touch someone’s face with my hands dripping blood from my victims? There’s no happy ending for me, with me. I’m like a train wreck, too dangerous to be around. The closest I’ll ever get to love was by seeing an old picture of Carol and I together, but it’ll never fill my void. “I could never lie to you.” My voice was above a whisper. Her eyes scanned mine in search for an answer herself. Like she could drag the truth by piercing my soul and I’m sure she could. It seemed like she was about to say something, but she decided against it and gave me a curt nod.
Then, she turned to her make-up kit to see if she could undo any damage the tears may have caused, but she was still flawless. She would always be flawless. “I just…” I took my tag from my neck, my thumb brushed Carol’s name one more time before putting in a drawer and I walked to the door. “… I don’t understand why this disturbed you.” She glided towards me like an angel, her face expressionless but her eyes still had that something that, for the life in me, I can’t decode. “God. You’re so oblivious for a spy.” She gave her arm for me to intertwine with mine. Her words never left my head as we walked out the door and went to join the Gala.
“My my, Carol my dear! I wish I could have a body like that to wear a dress like yours!” Debra Beauffort complimented Carol as soon as we found them among the crowd. “And you, Lara, you’re simply dashing in this dress.” She spoke looking at me and I smiled in response. “Thought you look good with suit, but you look like a princess with this dress.” Jean said gallantly. “You both are like princesses. Should I bow?” He playfully completed. “Stole the words from my mouth, my friend. Because you and Debra, certainly, are royalty tonight.” Even Carol grinned at my compliment at the couple. They were stunning. He was showing why smocking never gets old and Debra was wearing a deep green dress with bodice full of sequin brightening her face. And I was so engrossed with the Beaufforts, that, until now, I failed to see Greene right behind us staring at Carol all the time. His eyes showed a sick deep admiration, as if he were about to get on his knees and praise Carol for the goddess she is. His filth gaze was so fixed in her cleavage that was disgusting. It made me mad, and my hand started to shake. My mind ran all the legal outcomes if I choke him with my vibranium arm and poke his eyes with my fingers until take them from its place and smash it until I hear the ‘pop’ sound of them exploding. I shook my head, Steve wouldn’t approve, and he’d give those eyes. I need to stop Greene’s groping in a way that wouldn’t involve a murder. I approached our host with a cold smile and much colder eyes. “You may want to keep your eyes, Dom.” He feigned innocence at my words. “your thoughts were being very loud” I saw a cynical smile spread in his face, he looked like a predator. “So are yours, my friend.” He took a step back and like a gentleman, excused himself. “I think is time to start our amazing night. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome… Jean Vaux Beauffort, man of the year!” When all the applause died down, and Jean thanked everybody for their presence and their deep pockets, he came to me with a sly smile. “Need any help to find a place to hide a body?” I laughed bringing a flute to my mouth but stopped midway. “Wouldn’t that be bad for business?” I asked half joking. “Ah. We could always make it look like an accident.” We laughed together and touched our glasses as if sealing a deal. As the night went on, we talked, smiled, shook hands with two thirds of the people attending the ball. But right now, I am chest to chest with Carol, letting the song that was playing on to guide our feet. We were swaying with a soft tune from Frank Sinatra. I had my metal arm at the small of her back and her right hand was resting against my shoulder, whilst my right hand was holding her left hand. I was completely aware of her soft warm skin against mine. Something about her hand makes me wanna kiss it, taste her skin with my lips. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. “Never took you for a dancer.” I spoke softly to Carol, despite the background noise I’m sure she heard, for her expression turned to a lightly sad now. Great. I can’t open my mouth without offending her. “We danced once…” She had a sad smile adorning her lips. “And I believe you said something like this back then.” I gave her a tide smile. “I apologize for my bad memory.” She giggled after my playful reply. God, she was adorable. Her eyes were locked in mine, we were swaying but I wasn’t even paying attention to the song, could’ve stopped ages ago that it wouldn’t matter. Her brown pools were glistening as if she held stars as prisoners inside them, and her gaze was scanning me so intensely that I couldn’t look away, she kept me prisoner too. We shifted our stance while swaying, now her of her arms were on my shoulder and her hands entwined at the nape of my neck and both my hands were or her waist. Her perfect body flushed against mine that I could feel her warmth through the fabric of our dresses, she was burning me slowly. In this pace, her fire would turn me to ash by the end of the night. “Your eyes are so hard. Why is that you always look at me as if I’m hurting you?”  I clenched and unclenched my jaw. I feel her breath on my face and my feelings were burning my lungs. Carol was a supernova and much like Icarus, I was flying too close to the sun, and she was about to burst me into flames. My answer came like a whisper, trying to save any breath I could. “It ate me alive seeing you die every time I closed my eyes. You were there exploding, and I was hopeless. And now, every time I see you, part of me is waiting for those sparks to arise and take you away… from me” the last part was so breathless that I don’t even know if she heard. “You’re standing here, in my arms, but I failed in saving that Carol Danvers. And she’ll always be the ghost of you.” We swayed. Too entranced in the fantasy world created by our bodies so close. I could feel one of her fingers brushing patterns at my nape, my sanity was running out. “I’m sorry.” She breathed out. “It’s okay.” I said, a small lopsided grin makes its way to my lips when I spoke. “Your eyes scare me, though. It feels like they’re trying to pull me inside.” Such proximity was so intoxicating that I lost all my senses. This was something that I couldn’t hold back anymore. If possible, the glistening in her eyes intensified. Her lips twitched with a tiny smile. “Despite being green, I always thought about your eyes as a deep ocean. I used to be afraid of falling into it or that the waves in your sea would drag me and take me away. But right now, right here I can’t bring myself to care if I’d return.” Her voice was soft, above a whisper and sent shivers down my spine, I gritted my teeth to suppress a gasp. “Right now, I’m living my once upon a time with you.” Those words made my stomach turn around itself, my heart pace was assaulting my ribcage when I became aware that, slowly but surely, Carol was closing the gap between us, between our lips, my eyes instantly dropped to see her tongue wetting her lips. Help me, God. I felt her nose brushing and like a gentle caress in mine and she started to close her eyes, so I closed mine and waited to taste her lipstick. However, a voice exploded the bubble around us, bringing to our attention that the world still exists. And people were gradually leaving the ball. “Can I help you, sir?” I asked the man. I did even try to conceal my annoyance from my voice. “Greene wants to see you.” I nodded to him. “Follow me.” I looked at Carol who had her brows knitted together and her eyes were sad again. “You okay?” I asked her and was her turn to nod at me. “I’ll wait for you in the car.” I nodded to her and turned to follow the man. “Have we met before?” I asked the man. He had broad shoulders; muscles visible under the smoking he was wearing, and shaved hair were somewhat familiar. It was a strange feeling. He turned his icy blue eyes at me. “I’m afraid not.” He stuck his hand for me to shake and I saw a silver ring adorning his middle finger. “I’m Georges Batroc, at your service.” I shook his hand. “Lara Philipps, likewise.” A wicked grin appeared in his face, like he knew a secret that I failed in recognize. Before I could start to dwell in this, we arrived in a big room where a few gentlemen and ladies where reunited talking. I recognized Beauffort and Greene and, immediately, made my way to them. “You definitely know how to throw a party, Dominic. I’m speechless.” He gave me his signature grin and thanked me. “Now, let’s talk about business.” He had a hand in his pants pocket and the other was holding his cigar. “I like you, Lara. You know what you want for your future and showed me that you will pursuit it, no matter what. And I want to help your pursuit, and so wants Jean. We need such relentlessness as ally.” As if this was a choreographed speech, Jean spoke. “In a couple of days, a very important friend will host a dinner for friends or… partners. He’s extending his invitation for you too. There is, if you want to join us.” And here we are. The moment we’ve been working for. Once inside this consortium would be easy to learn their methods, goals and frustrate them all till lock one member after another. “I… Of course.” I pretended to be impressed or out of words. “Then we meet again for Tosca in Toulouse, tomorrow. I’ll sent you the details.” “It’ll be a pleasure. And I’m sure Carol will love the shopping.” Greene smiled and took his hand from his pocket and deposited a velvet case on the table in front of me. “Well, make sure she’ll buy a dress that’ll match with this.” As he opened the case, I saw a magnificent bracelet with small diamonds with some light blueish glow inside. “This is beautiful.” I was truly stunned by its beauty. “Yes, it is.” Greene said. Jean extended me another velvet case, much smaller. “Consider this a welcome gift.” When I opened the box, a familiar silver ring was shining at me, its insignia greeting me. “Welcome to Spectre, sister.” Beauffort’s spoke like he was sealing a pact and my response came in the form of a triumphant smile, putting the ring in my middle finger, to find that it had a disturbingly perfect match.

“The Friend Trap” Chapter Five
“Actually,” Fabian began as he stood up, “I’ll go talk to her.”
Before either Eddie or KT could interject by reminding him of the headspace Nina was in at the moment and that maybe it would be best to send either of them out there, he was out the door.
“Oh boy,” KT gulped as she laid her head onto her palms. “Why did I let you talk me into this?”
Eddie’s eyes widened with shock. “Me? Talk you into this? K.T, may I care to remind you that this was all your idea!”
“I was hoping you would forget about that…” she muttered under her breath. “We are screwed, Eddie. Nina is never going to forgive me for keeping all of this a secret from her. Fabian is going to be pissed at you for ambushing him.”
“Oh my god. Would you relax?” Eddie leaned back into his chair like he did not have a care in the world. “Nina and Fabian will thank us for this one day. Probably not today…. but someday.”
“Yeah. Okay. Sure.” KT stated out loud, mostly for her own benefit. She gestured towards an empty spot by the window, which would give the two a front seat for the Nina and Fabian reunite show. “I guess we should give them their privacy.”
Eddie nodded his head in agreement. Yet, not even a moment later, the two found themselves racing for the empty chair that would provide them with the best view.
“No fair!” K.T whisper-screamed as Eddie pounced down onto it first.
“As Nina’s Osarian and sworn protector, Fabian’s roommate and best friend AND the one who has known them longer, I think that I rightfully deserve the front row seat for their reunion.” Eddie replied as his eyes took focus on two of his best friends.
K.T rolled her eyes, but all of those were factual statements, and, well, you can’t argue with the facts. So, she begrudgingly took the seat behind him and strained her neck to get a view of what was going on.
Outside, Nina and Fabian had their backs turned away from the coffee shop facing towards the street, which meant that all KT and Eddie could see was their backside as Nina sat on a bench and Fabian stood behind her.
“Oh what I would give to be a fly on that bench,” K.T blurted.
“That’s a good sign,” Eddie noted as the pair watched as Fabian took the empty seat beside Nina.
A few moments of silence passed, with only the occasional hand gesture or body movement to understand what was being said. But that didn’t stop Eddie from providing his own commentary.
“Right now they are both professing their undying, unconditional love for their other. Nina is apologizing for leaving the way she did. Fabian is accepting it. They are making an oath to never break up again. Next, they are going to come in here holding hands being all adorable again and live happily ever after.”
K.T snickered. “Is that your osarian senses tingling or just your own Eddie Miller instincts.”
“That is just common sense,” he replied straight faced. “They are Nina and Fabian. They have survived much, much worse than this.”
Suddenly, Fabian stood up from the bench. He began walking back towards the shop before he stopped in his tracks. K.T and Eddie watched him tell Nina something without even allowing a glance back in her direction. His face was stone cold, nothing like the shy smile K.T and Eddie knew and loved. Whatever he said (K.T and Eddie had never wished they could read lips more than in this moment), must have delivered a final punch to Nina. She let her elbows fall onto her knees and her head collapsed into her palms.
“Hate to break it to you bud, but I think common sense failed ya.” K.T declared unwillingly.
“Go, go, go,” Eddie ushered K.T back away from the window and to their original table. The two barely made it back as the door opened and Fabian entered the room- looking absolutely pissed.
“I’m heading out,” he grunted, “going for a walk. I just need to clear my head. Text me your address, K.T, and I’ll be there later this evening.” He started to walk away towards the back door to ensure he wouldn’t have an awkward encounter with Nina on the way out. Just before he walked through the door, he turned his head almost as if he was about to say something more. Yet, he decided against it and left with a simple shake of the head.
K.T and Eddie glanced at one another.
“Well, with all considering, that wasn’t too bad.” K.T shrugged. The two had accepted a much worse blow up from their meddling. It wouldn’t have shocked them too much if Nina or Fabian refused to speak to them for a couple days. Or if Fabian had bought a ticket straight back to England on the earliest flight available. Or if Nina decided to escape the city by taking a spontaneous trip to see her gran.
Eddie gently shook his head. “Don’t get too relieved. Fabian has always been the more level headed and calm of those two. I love Nina, but she is known for acting impulsively and not the most level headed. It’s usually because of her love for her friends and determination to keep them safe, even if that means she has to brave all of problems on her own. Hence her leaving without a trace senior year….I’m rambling, aren’t I?”
K.T nodded her head. “You do that when you get nervous.”
An uncomfortable silence fell over the two as they sat and waited for the tidal wave that could be Nina Martin’s anger. They didn’t have to wait long, though, as Nina soon entered back into the shop. She didn’t look mad… but rather just upset. And somehow, that was all the much worse. Her eyes gave away that tears had recently escaped them and her red tinted face was proof of her distress.
“I’m just gonna head back to the apartment,” she gestured back towards the door. “I guess I’ll see you guys tonight.”
Neither K.T or Eddie had the chance to respond before she was out the door.
“She wasn’t mad at us, which is a lot better than I expected.” K.T began to nervously play with her nails.
Eddie let out a deep sigh before responding. “No, she wasn’t. But she looked so…”
“Broken.” K.T interjected.
“Yeah. They both did. Which honestly makes me feel a lot worse than I would have if they came back here guns-a-blazing and screaming at us.”
“What do you think is going to happen between the two of them? And I don’t want any of your fairytale happy ending b.s.”
Eddie took a moment to sit with this. He did want to give her his honest answer. “Honestly? I’ve heard stories from Amber and Patricia about infamous Fabian and Nina fights. Apparently they can be brutal sometimes. Yet, what neither realizes is that they are usually fighting over the same thing. Nina wants to keep Fabian safe by keeping him far away from any of her chosen one craziness and Fabian wants to keep Nina safe by being right by her side every time something happens. So eventually they erupt into some huge massive argument because they are both so darn stubborn. I mean...that is what this is all about, right?”
K.T looked puzzled like she wasn't quite following.
“Oh, yeah, I forget, I have known them longer and do know them better.” Eddie playfully nudged K.T with his shoulder before continuing. “Fabian is mad at Nina for leaving like she did and she left like she did because she was trying to protect Fabian and the rest of us. Obviously, it didn’t work because she didn’t take into account that egyptain gods and curses love to torture us with or without Nina around. So we just have to make both of them see that they were trying to achieve the same thing and ba-bang. They’re back together!”
“You make that sound a lot easier than it is going to be…” K.T huffed.
Eddie flicked his hand jokingly. “Pfff, no way Rush. My osarian senses are ah tingling and I can promise that everything is going to work out. Nina and Fabian are obviously meant for one another. Anyone can see it. Well, anyone but themselves that is.”
“Like you and Patricia are meant for one another?” She winked at Eddie. “How are you two, actually? With all the Fabian and Nina drama, I completely forgot to ask.”
“Amazing. I mean, long distance sucks butt. But, her university is only two hours drive from mine and Fabian’s. We’ll make it work. I know we will.” Eddie suddenly became fidgety, like he was nervous to say what came next. “She’s the one, ya know? I can’t see myself with anyone else.”
K.T responded by looking at him with adoration and a hint of something else. Something Eddie couldn’t put his finger one. “What is it?”
“Oh...it’s nothing,” K.T gently shook his head. “It’s just that, who knew Anubis House was such a place for matchmaking. You and Patricia. Nina and Fabian. Heck, even Willow and Alfie are still going strong. Sometimes I just feel like I missed out, that’s all.”
Eddie playfully hit her on the shoulder. “Hey now, I don’t want to hear any of that self-deprecation. You are a total catch, K.T Rush, and you are going to make one very, very lucky girl extremely happy one day.”
K.T jokingly rolled her eyes, but Eddie continued speaking. “Now, where is that tacky tourist New York City experience I was promised? I didn’t fly all the way here just to sit in a coffee shop all day and worry over Fabian and Nina. Let's go!” He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the door. Eddie Miller was promised a tour of NYC, and a tour of it he shall receive.
A couple hours later, hours full of buying extremely tacky NYC decor from touristy shops, taking even more tacky selfies from NYC tourist staples and plenty of food pit stops. K.T and Eddie's phones dinged simultaneously. It was a text from Nina.
"Could y'all come back to the apartment? We need to talk."
"Oh boy," K.T breathed.
"Oh, boy, indeed," Eddie agreed. "Be there in 15." He responded to Nina's text as the two made their way towards the newest Subway stop and made their way back to K.T and Nina's apartment.
--------
When the two walked in, Nina was sitting on the couch.
"Nins, hey there girl!" K.T called out nervously, trying desperately to hide her nerves and caution the blow.
Nina turned her head and her expression was all but the smiling girl K.T had grown to love. "K.T...Eddie...."
"We can explain," Eddie began.
"I'm all ears," Nina gestured to the open seats beside her. Eddie and K.T sat beside her, looking like a couple deers who were caught in headlights. As much as they loved Nina, she could be pretty terrifying. Even without her ability to call on the Egyptian Gods whenever she pleased, an unhappy Nina Martin was a Nina you wanted to steer clear from.
“Where do we start? Why don't you go ahead, Eddie?" K.T shot her glance over towards the boy sitting next to her. "After all, what were you saying earlier, you have known Nina and Fabian the longest and you do know them better..as her osarian and all that fun stuff."
Eddie grimaced at the way K.T used his previous words against him like a weapon. "Yeah...where do we start?"
Nina interrupted him before he had the chance to begin, though. "How about how the two of you know one another? And what happened senior year?”
Eddie and K.T chuckled nervously. “That’s a really funny story, actually,” Eddie began.
“Eddie,” Nina pleaded, “I stayed away to try and protect you all from any more curses and danger craziness. You said something about a great evil? And, K.T, you know about Sibuna?”
No longer did Nina sound angry about Eddie and K.T messing around in her relationship with her and Fabian’s relationship nor was she sad about what Fabian had told her, but rather she sounded like a friend who was desperate to protect those whom she loved. So, K.T and Eddie told her everything. They told her of keys and visions, of crypts and frozen men, of secret sisters, of sinners and tricks and, as they told her, Nina’s heart broke with every word.

Firen Lhain: Chapter 703: Minas Levain:  Part II/III
"Wait?" Yang asked, "Does that means he actually wants her to give him a blowjob?"
"She's hot," Jaune stated, "and cute, but as I said, I'm not looking for more wives. Four is plenty."
"Then, perchance?.." Weiss asked.
"I was raised to mean what I say." Jaune replied, "Kind of important for a knight and whatnot, but, I honestly believe that the only way this is going to work is if we are completely honest with each other. We're here for each other, and no one is being forced into this."
"He does have a point." Ruby said, "Wait, does that mean you are going to spank us if we lie?"
"Yes." Jaune simply stated.
"I didn't think I was asking?.." Ruby asked.
"Rhetorical." Weiss stated.
"Literal." Blake said, looking at Jaune, "So, my choices here are let Aurora stay in exchange for blowing Jaune when we need it, or getting a spanking."
"You should go for the spanking." Yang said, and everyone quickly looked at her.
"Qrow did say you are like Raven?" Ruby asked.
"What does mom have to do with this?" Yang asked.
"That you seem to take after your mother." Weiss stated, "And aside from her hair, once you think about it, the resemblance is uncanny."
"And you called her mom." Blake stated.
"What does Raven have to do with this?" Yang asked.
"Nice save, sis." Ruby said to her.
"Uh-huh, yeah, thanks..." Yang sarcastically said.
"I do think we should be completely honest with each other." Weiss stated.
"Even if we get spankings?" Ruby asked her.
"If my pert posterior has to be sacrificed?.." Weiss happily asked.
"Try not to sound too eager." Yang said to her.
"...then it will be sufficient if it means harmony amongst our family." Weiss finished.
"So?," Ruby nervously asked, "are... we going to let Aurora give Jaune blowjobs, or?.."
"Am I the only one who's ever given one?" Blake asked. Ruby and Weiss would be expected, but Blake just glared at Yang.
"I may..." Yang voiced, "or may not - be all talk. I've never actually..." she said, and trailed off.
"You have?" Ruby asked, "How was it?"
"Nothing quite like that feeling of direct sevice..." Blake whistfully said, "though, my memories... I'd rather replace them with someone who's not a monster, nor will turn into one."
"Are you?.." he said and paused, "That confident in me?" Jaune asked her.
"Of all of us here, you are the least likely to turn to the darkside."
"The I don't give a fuckery," Yang stated, "is strong with him."
"Stolid." Blake quipped, and Weiss eagerly nodded at that.
"Implacable." Weiss added.
"Even when I was... you know... crying?.." Jaune asked.
"Give the circumstances," Weiss stated, "that was understandable."
"The ancients created tragedies to give men an excuse to cry." Blake added, "But the pain of that loss marked your soul. I can see the scar burning, a scar you never want to happen again."
Tears started to form on Jaune's face.
"What about me?" Ruby asked, raising her hand.
"You," Blake said to her, "are like me, you can do the wrong thing because you believe it's right. I honestly don't know what I believe anymore."
"What about me?" Yang sheepishly asked.
"Your strength needs strength to temper it." Blake said to her.
"And... if I might ask?.." Weiss asked.
Blake looked her deep in the eyes, "What you want most is to do what is right." Subtle tears started to form on Weiss' face.
"And?.." Yang asked.
"And?," Blake asked Yang, and looked back to Weiss, "what is that?" Weiss looked lost and distant in reply. "That's the thing." Blake stated, "we don't have to do this alone." She stepped forward to embrace Weiss in a deep hug. "We love you." Blake whispered, and then stepped back. "To think I'd love a Schnee. You were like Satan or Dark Brother."
"And, no offence," Weiss stated, "but you as well."
Yang powerfully punched her fists together, "Heaven help us. Hell's afraid of us."
"The power of RWJBY!" (ruj-by) Ruby exclaimed.
"I do believe we need to work on that." Weiss stated.
"Or we just call ourselves Arcs." Blake stated, "That is how it traditionally works."
"Because we're so traditonal." Jaune sarcastically stated.
"A knight and his concubines?" Weiss asked.
"Well, yeah?," Yang asked, "but wouldn't one of us be his wife?" Weiss and Blake looked at her curiously, "I mean, the knights always had wives right?, and concubines aren't wives, which means he had to have a wife and maybe concubines?" RWBY eyed each other narrowly, as if a fight could break out at any time.
"No fighting!" Jaune's deep baritone stated, and the girls quickly relaxed.
"Now that this is resolved," Weiss said, and looked at Blake, "don't think we forgot what you said about Aurora."
"Are we really doing this?" Blake asked.
"Indeed." Weiss stated.
"But?.." Blake asked, and then trailed off. "No, I'm the one who said it, so I'll have to stand by it."
"Who knew Blake was that kinky?" Yang asked.
"I suspected." Weiss said to her, and then turned to Aurora. "Aurora?" Aurora simply nodded. "Well, now that this is out in the open, I'll have to object."
"WHAT?!" Blake and Yang shouted.
"Did you really think I would accept this?" Weiss asked.
"I'm honestly completely lost here." Yang stated.
"I knew you would decline." Aurora stated.
"Then?.." Weiss asked.
"Then," Aurora said, "I have made myself clear."
"And then," Jaune stated, "she can't stay in the master's apartments."
"You heard his daddy voice." Yang stated.
"I'd pefer a mommy voice." Aurora said, and then with a shocked look, looked about bashfully.
"Well, that explains it." Blake stated.
"Explains what?" Weiss asked.
"She's a lesbian submissive." Blake stated nonchalantly.
"That," Yang voiced, "doesn't really explain as much as you think it does."
"Hm?" Blake asked, and Yang vigorously pointed between Aurora and Jaune.
"I think we've embarassed her enough for the moment." Jaune stated, "Aurora?," he asked, "guest apartments or servants quarters?"
"The guests apartments are closer to my mistress," she stated, "unless they are otherwise needed, in which case I will take the servants quarters."
"She's part of the family, isn't she?" Ruby asked, and everyone looked at her.
"Yes," Blake said with a smile, "just not in that way."
"Alright," Jaune stated, "I'm going to go check out the kitchen. Assuming Contrary is going to explore the library."
"I will accompany Jaune-dear," Weiss stated, "and prepare us coffee."
"The library is like an entire floor, so I'm sure she's going to love it." Yang stated.
"And what are the sisters going to do?" Weiss asked asked.
"I know this is going to sound corny," Yang replied, "but I'm going to guard our... apartments."
Before she knew what was happening, Jaune had pulled her in for a passionate kiss, causing Ruby to huff. When Jaune pulled away he opened his arms, and in a burst of rose petals Ruby was there, and he picked her to kiss her before putting her back down.
"Ruby?" Weiss asked.
"I'm going to see how Ilia is doing." Ruby stated.
"Very well." Weiss said, and gave her a peck on the cheek. * * *
Ruby used Crescent Rose to launch herself from the roof of the tower. Mid-way she burst into rose petals to cover the remaining distance. She reverted as she landed on the roof of the turret. She looked at the parapets, unsure of what they were. I mean, all castles had them, right? She looked around, opened the trap door, and started running down the stairway. The turret was round, about 20-30 feet across that descended anticlockwise. It was about four floors high, but the floors were much lower than the main tower. More like a regular house. The 4th floor was a large, open room with 3 beds. Ruby Petal Burst across the room to the next flight of stairs down. She got down on all fours and looked at the 3rd floor, to see Ilia looking through drawings. "Hey!" Ruby exclaimed, and Ilia turned towards her.
"Hello." she said.
"Getting comfy?" Ruby asked, and Ilia just looked at her for a moment.
"Yes." she said. "I've never been comfortable in luxury..."
"It is like REALLY BIG." Ruby stated, "But also REALLY OLD. Nora and Ren have gone to look for the ghost."
Ilia smiled, "I doubt there's a ghost."
"Well, yeah, but," Ruby stated, "REALLY OLD. And it's all ours. Isn't it exciting?"
Ilia turned to sit on a bed. She was still smiling, just a bit more weak than before, "It's all yours." Ilia stated. "I'm just tagging along. You are Huntresses, and I'm?.." Ilia asked, and flopped back on her bed, "an... assassin?" Ruby ran down on all fours and ended up at the end of Ilia's bed. When Ruby didn't say anything, Ilia nervously lifted her head. "That... isn't?.."
"You WERE an assassin!" Ruby said, wagging her tail.
With this Ilia sat up and looked at her questioningly, "Isn't that," she nervously voiced, "a problem?"
"I really don't know?" Ruby asked, "I mean, everyone else seems good with it, and I'm not really the best socially... Jaune's happy to have you."
"He is?" Ilia asked.
"He relies on you." Ruby stated.
"Doesn't make me part of the family."
"FFIINNE!" Ruby exclaimed, "We'll just hire you."
"As a what?," Ilia asked, "assassin?"
"I don't know?" Ruby asked, and stood up properly, "What's between Huntress and assassin?" Ilia just rolled her eyes. "Okay?," Ruby asked, "but Uncle Qrow was apparently a bandit, and he's still my uncle."
"So?.." Ilia nervously asked, looking at her hands, "you're... fine with it..."
"Nope." Ruby said with glee, "I mean... this is awkward... that an inside joke with me and Jaune." She stood up properly, pointing at Ilia, "Anyways!, you can't change what you've done, but you want to help us save the world, so you can't be all bad, can you?"
Ilia flopped back on the bed, and her colours changed to camouflage herself into it. Ruby pounced on Ilia. "As someone who hides in her cloak, I know how well that doesn't work."
"Can't you leave me to mope?" Ilia.
"Nope," Ruby excitedly said as she stood from the bed and held our her hand, "Weiss is making Coffeee." Ilia took Ruby's hand and let herself get pulled to her feet.
