Yknow what's crazy in all of this watching of Supernatural? I can understand that some of the women in this show were portrayed sometimes as an attempt of being worthy of fan praise or just being liked but because their writing is lacking and doesn't truly explore their background it almost always falls short.

The only exceptions to this right now (i'm in the middle of S4) is Ruby who is playing a kinda vital part in the narrative and a little bit of Mary Winchester because we learned about her past before she got married.

I just had a random thought and felt like I had to share with someone.

You remember in Persona 3, that one optional exchange when you talk to Ken about coffee and what you put in it? And you can joke and say you put hot sauce in there and Ken genuinely can't tell if you're joking or not and it kinda freaks him out?

Well, I was thinking about how I hope small things like that are kept in for P3R and then I thought: Minato strikes me as one of those really adventurous types of eaters. Not the ones who will actively search for new things to try, but the ones who see something weird put in front of them and go "... Eh, fuck it, I'll give it a try" so do you think he'd ever just actually put hot sauce in his coffee and drink it in front of Ken just to mess with him?

Don't ask me how my brain went to this, I have no idea.

Help this is actually so funny 😭 no because I know the exact dialogue option you're talking about and it's really cute and funny and I can TOTALLY see him doing that to mess with Ken.

How I'd imagine it going down is like: Ken comes down one morning and sees Minato making coffee. Minato sees Ken, sees his coffee and thinks "hmm. yeah". Then, while making eye contact with Ken the entire time, he reaches to the cupboard, pulls out the hot sauce, adds it to the coffee and takes a huge gulp without saying a single word. Swallows it down the hatch all while Ken is just standing there mouth open because like what would you say to that 💀

Then I can imagine either Minato actually sitting down and enjoying it OR he just slowly leaves the room doing his best to keep his composure until he walks into the bathroom and immediately gags because while the look on Ken's face was worth it... the taste probably wasn't 😭

Also, since I'm on my soap box. The way you all frame it like he "ABANDONED HIS WIFE WITH TWO KIDS" - and his entire property sans a couple acres(boo hoo :(), an actual fuck-ton of money, and as is clearly demonstrated by the narrative - the freedom to actually live a life she enjoys.

EDIT: one of the last things that's said is "see you around!" and joseph responding with "you will whether you like it or not--we're neighbors!" like????? was that sass??? did he like run into them and talk about going to the art walk himself and find out they were going and got A Vibe when they said "oh i guess we'll see you there then?" ???? (which means that joseph was planning on going to the art walk on his own, which is um. sooooo fucking sad????)

[walking confidently into a live minefield] I can't say for sure how we reached the point where "trans women everywhere (read as: everywhere online) oppress/hate/are secretly plotting the downfall of trans men" is a thing that people think is both true and reasonable to believe, but I think at least one factor is a stupid vicious cycle of bad actors and gullible bystanders where, like. you have some guys engaging in shitty misogynistic behavior > some women either try to explain why this behavior is shitty and misogynistic (to no avail) or just disengage entirely > instead of learning from this, the guys act all wounded about it > outside observers who don't have a great grasp on the situation (or maybe don't have great grasp on how misogyny functions in general, or think that only cis men can engage in misogynistic behaviors, or have some kind of unconscious hang-up against trans women) see this and think aw man, these poor dudes are getting ragged on for no reason! > people who weren't necessarily doing the original shitty misogynistic behavior are falsely pointing the finger at trans women for "starting shit" > this is obviously fucking irritating, and no one has an infinite well of patience, so after calmly defending themselves however many times, some of these ladies are just gonna start telling bad-faith jokers to fuck off > shitty dudes and gullible bystanders go "see, they're doing it again! those man-hating harpies!" > women continue to be irritated and (understandably) defensive, tell bad-faith jokers to fuck off > and so on and so forth.

and to be clear "vicious cycle" does not mean "oh well really it's everyone's fault for being involved in the whole mess." I think there's a pretty clear cause and effect here where if you're dismissive of women's voices and viewpoints, and hold them to unfair standards, and just generally aren't very nice, they might not be very nice to you in return. and why should they be!
