Sometimes I’ll be playing totk and I’ll put it on pause for a second bc I get a text. Ik they don’t have phones or texting but how would Tears feel about it? Not knowing what I’m doing would he just be confused? Curious? If he figured out enough to know that I’m pausing him to talk to someone else, would he be mad? Jealous?

I think at the start it's pure curiosity plain and simple, he knows that you're not fully focused on him but it's just immediately forgotten as it's tech!!! new tech for him to explore - would it work with the zonai technology, would he be able to fuse it to things, what does it even do? but then it clicks for him that it could be something similar to what you're using to play his game - are you playing another game when you're supposed to be spending time with him? Are they better than him is that why? what does he need to do so that he can keep your attention on him more, is there anything he can do? if he rebels against the games code too much then it tries to reset itself so is he just stuck being second best?

then if he were to ever have it shown to him that you aren't playing another game but talking to another person? he's going to be beyond jealous, he knows that you don't have as close a relationship (in his mind) that you do with him, so why are you leaving him alone with his strings cut, frozen in place to torture him by speaking to someone else in front of his face. What did he do wrong? Why isn't he worthy of your full attention, at the very least while you've set the game up to spend time with him. are you doing it on purpose? or worse did you not pick up on the hints he's been trying to give you that he's in there, trapped and alive. if it's the second, maybe he'll have to start dropping bigger hints.

UGH this was hard to record ;w; I think Astarion realises something during this second proposal. Either way you respond. Agreeing to sleep with him again I think solidifies for him that he's starting to have real feelings for tav. Rejecting him like this makes him realise in rapid fire that those feelings were developing and now he won't even have a chance to see it through. He is genuinely hurt and surprised by this rejection. You can see himself going through revelations as he speaks.

There's no manipulation in this response and I think he's trying not to cry at the end :C Don't worry! I reloaded the save and agreed to his proposal. Ellie would never reject him like this. It was for science!

WIP Wednesday (6/5) | Arsonist Neil / Firefighter Andrew AU (Part 180)

A few days later Andrew comes home exhausted. He’d spent his entire shift feeling like his skin was on too tight. Like he needed to peel it off just to be able to breathe. The utter silence when he steps into his apartment is like a warm hug, if Andrew liked hugs. He sighs deeply, shutting and locking the door behind him. Finally, he feels almost human. But he needs food, sleep, and a shower— not necessarily in that order.

Andrew shoves a pan lined with chicken nuggets into the oven on the way to the bathroom and takes a long, hot shower. Just after he changes into something loose and comfortable, the timer beeps and he goes to retrieve his food. Next to his nuggets he piles half a bag of Doritos, a handful of Sour Patch Kids, and a copious amount of mustard. Then he takes a beer from the fridge and puts his food on the coffee table before collapsing on the sofa.

He doesn’t bother with the television, opting to sit in the dark with his ridiculous dinner. The sooner he’s fed and can go to bed, the better. Andrew pops the top off his beer, picks up a Dorito, and—

His phone starts ringing. He turns a vicious look on the device, trying to will it to shut the fuck up. But that doesn’t work. So he grabs it and sees 10’s photo lighting up the screen. For the first time since they started talking, Andrew declines the call.

A couple seconds later, his phone buzzes beside him and Andrew wants to throw it at the wall. But he doesn't.

10 Are you okay? You usually call me on the way home from work. You got out an hour ago, right?

Andrew huffs out a sigh and abandons his plate to text him back.

Andrew Yes. I do not feel like talking right now. Tomorrow. 10 Oh. Alright. Goodnight. Take care of yourself.

Andrew grits his teeth and pushes his phone away from him. Fucking idiot arsonist. Giving a shit about Andrew. Moron. Andrew eats three chicken nuggets, six Doritos. Has a sip of beer. Then he texts back.

ugh my job involves a lot of repetitive motion in my right arm and i was warned - warned! - by the people who trained me that i had to do it a certain way and be careful how, because carpal tunnel is very real and plagues the career and so you have to take steps to prevent it

and i like... kinda tried? and definitely not hard enough, because i definitely developed mild carpal tunnel a few years later and they were like "i mean, we warned you, but also yeah it sucks doesn't it?"

and so i got a brace until the inflammation eased up and retrained myself to do it the correct way but sometimes it still flares up again and i have to wear the brace for several days

and this has been the case from the end of last week but monday i was like "yeah i'm okay now, nipped it in the bud, no problem" and monday i was fine and then yesterday my dumbass decided to stock several boxes of not particularly heavy but not exactly light supplies above eye level and very quickly afterwards i was like

by talos this can't be happening

so i have been in pain and ibuprofen since yesterday and while the tone of this post is somewhat flippant my advisory to you is dead serious: take care of yourself and do not disregard the ergonomic devices or methods given to you holy fuck this sucks
