Matt Shuham and Brandi Buchman at HuffPost:
A man wearing a pro-Trump hat repeatedly punched an elderly election worker in San Antonio, Texas, Thursday evening, according to police, after the worker told him he wasn’t allowed to wear his hat inside a polling place. The man, Jesse Lutzenberger, was booked on suspicion of injury to an elderly person, a third-degree felony. County records for Lutzenberger indicate he’s 63, and his victim is 69, according to the Bexar County sheriff.
The incident underscores concerns about election-related violence with just days to go until Election Day, as millions of Americans make their way to polling places around the country to vote early. According to an incident report obtained by HuffPost on Friday, a deputy was dispatched to a library in Bexar County on Thursday night. The deputy said he spoke to a county election clerk who described Lutzenberger as wearing a “MAGA” or “TRUMP” baseball cap. When the clerk asked him to remove it, he did but only temporarily. It is against state law to wear a hat with political messaging on it while voting, as it is considered electioneering. Just minutes later, the clerk told police, he saw Lutzenberger put the cap back on his head, and when the clerk approached and asked him to remove it again, Lutzenberger allegedly responded with violence.
MAGA cultist Jesse Lutzenberger arrested for punching an election worker over being told to take off his Trump hat at a Bexar County, TX polling place.

Yes, Putin is trying to help his MAGA vassal Donald Trump by making bomb threats against polling places in locations in Georgia which are 90% black.
Several non-credible bomb threats that briefly disrupted voting at two Georgia polling places originated from Russia, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told reporters Tuesday. “We’ve heard some threats that were of Russian origin. I don’t know how to describe that that’s viable – we don’t think they are, but in the interest of public safety, we always check that out, and we’ll just continue to be very responsible when we hear about stuff like that,” Raffensperger said. “We identified the source, and it was from Russia.” “They’re up to mischief, it seems, and they don’t want us to have a smooth, fair and accurate election,” he added. “Anything that can get us to fight amongst ourselves - they can count that as a victory.”
This civil rights song, performed at the Obama White House, is a great response to Putin and his US lickspittles.

Erik was in fine form.
My voting poll was in a church. This happened while I voted.
It was like having the Phantom of the Opera entertain you while you cast your ballot.

The GOP would probably love to restrict voting just to white people over 55 who wear MAGA caps and attend Christian fundamentalist churches.
A Texas GOP state legislator wishes to ban public colleges and universities from serving as polling places. It just so happens that a large public university exists in her legislative district. 🤨
Republican Rep. Carrie Isaac recently introduced a bill which would ban polling locations at public universities.
This would make it more difficult for students to vote.
Isaac represents Hays County just south of Austin, where Texas State University is located.
While her bill would make it more difficult for college students to vote, Texas A&M Kingsville Associate Professor of political science Travis Braidwood said college campuses tend to have a lot of people live near them who aren't students.
"Potentially shutting them down anyway could also deprive other voters access to those voting places," he said. "It's really unfortunate. If anything, you want to expand the franchise of voting, not restrict it."
3NEWS received recent voting statistics from the Nueces County Clerk's Office that gave an account of the number of voters at area universities.
Last November, 2,364 people voted at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi while 3,204 voted at Del Mar College.
"So really, this raises the other question, if it isn't voter fraud, is this an attempt to suppress certain voters, particularly young voters?" Braidwood said.
Yep, it’s pretty blatant. Private universities (especially Christian ones) would not be covered by Rep. Isaac’s bill.
Assistant Professor of political science for TAMU-CC Sanne Rikhoff said that colleges have long been at the center of discussion when it comes to polling locations.
[ ... ]
Rikhoff said counties normally have the deciding say in where polling locations are placed.
"The counties are ultimately the ones who decide where polling places will be in an election. And most often they choose public places with good parking, availability. And also a space in which these elections can take place throughout early voting and election days," she said.
BTW, are you registered to vote?
Be A Voter - Vote Save America
Voter registration is done by address. Every time you move you must register. Even if you just move down the street you must amend your voter registration.
