Henry Kissinger Was A War Criminal, But Presidents And Celebrities Smiled With Him
Henry Kissinger Was A War Criminal, But Presidents And Celebrities Smiled With Him
Henry Kissinger, America’s most famous war criminal, died on Wednesday at age 100. As secretary of state and national security adviser for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, he micromanaged, presided over or provided crucial support to deadly conflicts on three continents.
In his eight years in power, he unnecessarily prolonged the Vietnam War for five years, ordered the carpet-bombing of Cambodia and Laos, provided arms for Pakistan’s brutal war in Bangladesh, gave the green light to Argentina’s “dirty war,” endorsed General Augusto Pinochet’s deadly coup in Chile, enabled a genocide in East Timor and fueled civil wars in southern African countries.
The estimated death toll for foreign policy follies connected to Kissinger sits between 3 million and 4 million. The 350,000 to 500,000 Cambodians killed by American bombs, however, are most directly connected to him. As secretary of state, Kissinger personally approved thousands of bombing raids in the country while closely overseeing the campaign. Cambodia’s government collapsed amid the U.S.’s secret bombing, allowing the strongman Pol Pot to fill the vacuum. His short rule ended with the slaughter and starvation of 1 million more.

Having a Separate Identity Apart from being a Political Figure
Tumblr media
In addition to political careers, there are a lot of other alternatives. Students who study political science hone their writing and research abilities. They learn how to construct a solid case and support it with evidence. Political science students develop their oral communication and presentation abilities by presenting their work to faculty members and their peers.
Students majoring in political science hone their analytical abilities while researching policy proposals and analyzing the effects of governmental acts. Studying political party agendas and the impact of leadership transitions critically is essential.
Political science students study how governments are formed, how elections are run, and how public opinion is swayed. They research various leadership philosophies and get historical context on the relative efficacy of different approaches.
Option 1: Policy Analyst for Political Science Majors
Political science majors study how public policy is made; therefore, working as a policy analyst is a logical extension of their academic studies. Strong critical thinking, writing, and research abilities are essential for policy analysts as they create arguments on the nature and effects of policy ideas.
2. Assistant in Legislation
All levels of government use assistants to help senators, assembly members, representatives, and other elected officials carry out their tasks. Legislative assistants draw on the written and speaking abilities they've gained as political science majors to manage communication with constituents and update them on events in their district.
3. Public Relations Specialist
Public relations representatives influence public opinion about their clients based mainly on placing stories with the media.2 Political science majors develop the writing skills needed to draft compelling press releases and the persuasive skills to assert the benefits of covering a particular story.
4. Attorney
Lawyers working for political figures, interest groups, and lobbying firms use the legal research skills developed by political science majors to research legislative and policy issues. They help draft and edit the language for bills and assess the legal precedents for pending legislation.
5. Entrepreneurship
When an individual has enough experience in dealing with people and understanding their needs by analyzing the lack or scarcity of one or more products/services of any line, that is when they may start their career as a business person that will give the conformity of thriving. The presence of influencing a vast majority is already there, and people will trust you easily hence good business.
People like Hayk Grigoryan in politics are making history by doing things that are not just profitable for their career growth. Still, as a person responsible for others around him based on his position, he always focuses on giving back to society and keeps moving toward success in his career.
His portfolio would include the following:
●          2005-2008 Armenian Government, Department of Social Affairs- attorney.
●          2008-2009 Central Bank of Armenia - attorney
●          2009-2012 – Armenian Credit Bureau Agency- chief legal officer.
●          2013-2014 – Washington state department of financial institutions, researcher
●          Since 2016, private law practice – Grigoryan law firm

Read Chapter 12 Here!
The group is reunited, though tensions are a little high and trust has been worn thin. Everyone wants answers, but when the Daycare Attendant returns from Moon’s patrol, all they bring with them are more questions. Protocol. Programming. If the puzzle doesn’t make sense, are you sure you have the right pieces?
---
Ouugh, it's finally done! I sketched out this cover about a year ago, but their clasped hands gave me a ton of trouble and I shelved it-- until a couple of months ago, when I just banged out the hands and then kept rolling from there!
There's a decent bit of symbolism related to the chapter worked in here, as well as a lot of me learning how water works. Detail shots + textless versions below!

Let us be brutally honest with ourselves and with eachother for a moment. If he weren't obese you motherfuckers would be capable of percieving evrart claires sexy sexy moral ambiguity and complex charms
#i am (lesbian) sipping him like a fine DESSERT WINE#my evidence by the way is very simple and very damning. joyce messier. there i said it.#if you guys can appreciate the fact that Joyce is a complex figure worthy of disgust yes but also worthy of empathy#despite being a venal coward facilitating acts of violence and slaughter of the organized working poor of martinaise in the name of capital#if you can understand that she is a dimensional figure while also being an embodiment of the moral apathy and cruelty if capital owners#but you cant look at evrart and see that he is (while deeply flawed and morally suspect) also a dimensional figure#on top of the fact that his motivations are eminently relatable and dare i say it baser#and his greatest failing imho is in failing to advocate for the interests of *all* the poor of martinaise#opting instead to marginalize the inhabitants of the fishing village in favor of a power grab in the interests of himself and his union#though this is imo a bit of a grey area morally. undeniably a wrong and bad thing to do but done in service of clairs political goals#to gather power to advocate for the working class against ultraliberal monoliths like wild pines and fascistic orgs like krenel#still super wrong but i can follow the moral arithmetic there tho i don't like it#but like my point is if u can see that joyce is evil and pathetic but still cool and sexy but you consider clair flatly distasteful#thats cus hes not conventionally attractive#cus he is *every bit* as dimensional and interesting as joyce and he is not nearly as politically shite even if hes interpersonally a jerk

I'm not explaining why re-imagining characters as POC is not the same as white-washing, here of all places should fucking understand.
#personal#delete later#no patrick. “black washing” is not as harmful as white washing.#come on guys get it together#seeing people in my reblogs talk about “reverse racism” and double standards is genuinely hypocrisy#say it with me: white washing is intrinsically tied to a historical and systematic erasure of poc figures literature and history.#it is an inherently destructive act that deplatforms underrepresented faces and voices#in favor of a light-skinned aesthetic hegemony#redesigning characters as poc is an act of dismantling symbols of whiteness in fiction in favor of diversification and reclamation#(note that i am talking about individual acts by individual artists as was the topic of this discourse. not on an industry-scale)#redesigning characters as poc is not tied to hundreds of years of systemic racism and abuse and power dynamics. that is a fact.#you are not replacing an underrepresented person with an oft-represented person. it is the opposite#if you feel threatened or upset or uncomfortable about this then sorry but you are not aware of how much more worse it is for poc#if representation is unequal then these acts cannot be equivalent. you can't point to an imbalanced scale and say they weigh the same#if you recognize that bipoc people are minorities then you should recognize that these two things are not the same#while i agree that “black washing” can lead to color-blind casting and writing the behavior here is on an individual level#a black artist drawing their favorite anime character as black because they feel a shared solidarity is not a threat to you#i mean. most anime characters are east asian and i as an east asian person certainly don't feel threatened or erased. neither should you.#there's much to be said about the politics of blackwashing (i don't even know if that's the right word for it)#but point standing. whitewashing is an inherently more destructive act. both through its history of maintaining power dynamics#and the simple fact that it's taking away from groups of people who have less to begin with#if you feel upset or uncomfortable about a fictional white character being redesigned as poc by an artist on twitter#i sincerely hope you're able to explore these feelings and find avenues to empathizing with poc who have had their figures#(both real and fictional) erased; buried; and replaced by white figures for hundreds of years#i sincerely hope you can understand the difference in motivations and connotations behind whitewashing and blackwashing#classic bixels “i'm not talking about this chat. i'm not” (puts my media studies major to use in the tags and talks the fuck outta it)
