its just such a nice word to say. ko-(hard k) cuuuur (c is like the ts in puts (something on the table) and the r is made with your tongue on the top of your mouth, vibrating a bit. ko-cúr so nice. so pleasant to say.

So my partner started a drawing for Pie [Nickname] a couple days ago, and was having some trouble figuring out how to draw some clothing on it last night, and something has me in like the biggest creative buzz for some reason but none of my current mediums are really clicking for me right now [traditional art, writing, my drawing tablet, ect].

I asked if I could take a shot at maybe drawing the specific detail that they were currently working on, [it was the collar of a sweater that looked oddly flat compared to how loose the rest of the sweater looked], and so they graciously handed me their ipad and let me go at it and oh my god art is fun again-

Like, I have my own drawing tablet, but its the sort that you plug into your computer and have to look up at your screen to draw with. Being able to properly see what im doing and actively microadjust without having to squint or fight with my shit off brand tool that hardly works very well anymore because of the worn down pen tips, the weird dead zone right in the middle where I most often have my pen, and the stupid buttons on the side I never figured out how to use? Fucking game changer, being able to actually like look at what/have better control with what I'm drawing rules, procreate is fucking epic I literally kept drawing until 4 am and wanted to keep going, but partner said no go to bed <3

Anyway this is all a long winded way to say, art is fun and also subjective. If making art in your current medium or with your current tool set is unsatisfying, try your hand at something new! Genuinely I was previously kind of frustrated and not happy with any of the art I was making, but using procreate on my partners tablet makes so many things so much easier for me, like actually being able to control brush size on the fly, or adjusting layers easier, it makes using references/bases so fucking easy I can literally just drag one onto the canvas from their image gallery it's fucking awesome.

They mentioned something along the lines of, "having the most advanced/expensive tools doesn't automatically make you better at art for having them, but it sure fucking helps and makes it easier to learn" and yeah! Yeah!!! Im good at art actually!!! Like I HAVE the knowledge and the conceptual know-how, I just never used the right tools for it! Fuck drawing tablets like wacom or whatever I've always wanted a drawing tablet with a screen for a fucking reason and this is it!!!
