Hi I suppose you have heard the interview that PolyC did or even seen it, although the Jkkrs joke with PolyC being a jikkoker himself, it is clear that he has a deeper friendship with JK and JM, since he speaks in all the overall member interview and the only name he mentions other than JK is Jimin, even saying that he had what seem like deep and meaningful conversations with JM, the mutual interest the two have in tattoos evidently plays to his advantage, only one more thing of so many that connects them, apart from that, it was nothing other than respectful in everything that had to do with BTS

Absolutely. And he is not just a tattoo artist. He is a friend. I've enjoyed what I've seen of that interview. What I was even happier about is finally getting the answer to who found Poly C. Me and my friends have been discussing it forever and we were leaning towards Jimin. But today we found out JK found Poly C first and introduced him to bae 😍

I love a good compilation of people always having Jimin and JK in the same sentence. Including the latest one from Jhope in his documentary where he talked about Jikook always going to bed late.

Hi friend! I was wondering if you had any favorite Israeli/Hebrew children's books! Also any fave Israeli musicians??

Hello, my lovely! :D How are you?

Ooooh, do I! Man, you're gonna regret asking me this. XD Sorry, not sorry... So shall we start with Israeli/Hebrew kids' books?

Anything by Yehuda Atlas (יהודה אטלס), but especially And That Kid is Me (והילד הזה הוא אני). Short humorous stories, written in rhymes, perfectly capturing how baffling the world can be for a kid, and how silly adults can seem, or just what things can sometimes feel like for a child. It's one of those books that work, funny and essential, 'coz it's so true. He just gets kids.

Another one that I love, and am probably one of the few Israeli kids who even know this book, is Siamina and the Cats of Yemin Moshe (סיאמינה והחתולים של ימין משה) by Holocaust survivor Uri Orlev (אורי אורלב. He's more well known for his books about that period of time, which are also highly recommended, but I only dared read them when I was older). Jerusalem is known for its many stray cats, and the book is a love fest for cats and Jerusalem, with some historical sites becoming in the book the "homes" of the cats.

David Gershtein, who crafted the engravings for the book, is a pretty popular Israeli artist, and you can find some of his creations all over the country, and even entire shops dedicated to his works.

Last one ('coz I don't wanna burden you too much, but lemme know if you want more recs!) that I really loved as a kid, was Yael's House (הבית של יעל) by Miriam Rot (מרים רות). It was about a girl who has a home, but she wants a house that would be all her own. She tries all sorts of solutions, including taking over the space under the kitchen table... Not gonna lie, as a kid I was inspired to follow in her footsteps, but my parents were not impressed.

Now, as for Israeli musicians! You have stumbled onto dangerous ground, my friend, since I'm a music addict, and in love with the Hebrew language, so songs in Hebrew are something I can go on about for freaking years...

I'll share with you the link to two unlisted playlists that I made on YouTube. One is of some of my fave Israeli songs (though I started it years ago, so sadly, I see some vids have been deleted or made private, and there are literally hundreds of songs on the list, meaning I'm not sure which ones are missing), but also with a few thrown in 'coz I think they're good for people who wanna know Israeli culture and popular Israeli songs, and the other is one that I started making with songs connected in different ways to the current war we're in. They're not all faves, but I thought they capture a moment in time, so I wanted to have them grouped together. I'm actually not done with either list, the latter I really just started not that long ago, so you can expect them to grow.

If we're talking specific Israeli musicians, I find it hard to answer, I think almost every singer or songwriter has at least one good song to offer, and likewise whenever I wanna name one, I feel like adding, "Except for this song... and that one..." No musician is great all the time. But I guess some of my faves (where I like more songs than I don't) include Ivri Lider, Berry Sakharof, Yehuda Poliker, Ran Danker, Harel Ska'at, Chanan ben Ari, Narkis, Eliad, Amir Dadon, Avraham Tal, Marina Maximilian, Achinoam Nini (Noa), Sheila Ferber, Gilad Segev, Ofra Chaza, Meni Berger, Yardena Arazi, Natan Goshen, Keren Peles, Izhar Ashdot, Nurit Galron, and the bands Beit Ha'bubot, Ha'Yehudim, Metropolin, Ethnix, Mashina and Synergia.

I was thinking I should add at least one of these vids to my reply, and for whatever reason, the one that started playing itself in my head (where there is always music) was a song first released in 1993, אדמה חמה (Hot Earth) by Shlomo Gronich and the Shva Choir (Sheba is the English pronunciation of Shva). I love this song, I think the vid was very cool for its time, and I'm still never gonna forgive the MTV viewers who gave it last place in a video music awards. The song incorporates Hebrew and Amharic, both Semitic languages, the latter being the language spoken by Ethiopian Jews. You can actually listen to the whole special album (inspired by the story of the Ethiopian Jewish community's journey to Israel) here.

But just for the fun of throwing in a gay themed song as well, here's התשמע קולי (Will You Hear My Voice), a love poem for a man, originally written by an Israeli poet called Rachel (full name: Rachel Bluwstein Sela), but it's performed here by only men, and no one changed the pronouns, which makes it a mlm song to me. It's so pretty and sad (Rachel is believed to have written the poem to a former lover, a man she even thought at one point she would marry, but WWI tears them apart and they never meet again. She wrote this poem, after getting the news that she's terminally ill), it fills my soul at the same time as it tugs on my heart.

NICHTS. Die Probleme sind genau die gleichen wie in in den 90ern.

Bildung ist nach wie vor kacke und bekommt zu wenig Geld, Infrastruktur ist eine Katastrophe (danke CDU). Die ganze Pflegebranche bekommt immer noch zu wenig gehalt.

Die Bahn wird immer mehr zum Witz. Wird jetzt so weit runtergewirtschaftet bis alle denken "vielleicht wird es besser wenn sie komplett an einen Unternehmer verkauft wird" und dann bekommt irgendein Milliardär oder eine ausländische Firma den Zuschlag für unser Bahnnetzt was absolut nichts besser machen wird.

Post ist ein Witz. Wenn ich darüber nachdenke wie gut und schnell und vertrauenswürdig die Post als Institution mal war werde ich depressiv.

Wir haben immer noch kein flächendeckendes Internet, in einigen Ecken noch nicht mal vernünftigen Mobilfunkempfang, weil Deutschland anders als andere Länder es nicht für nötig hält Anschluss an morderne digitale Infrastruktur zur Staatssache zu machen oder zu einem Grundrecht zu erkären.

Stattdessen werden dünn besiedelte Regionen noch weiter abgehängt weil Home Office unmöglich ist. (Selbst wenn es Staatssache wäre, wir würden es auch da nicht hinbekommen, dieses Land ist einfach unglaublich unfähig wenn es um Digitales geht).

Unser Bundesnachrichtendienst ist ein Joke. Die Polizei weder Freund noch Helfer. Wenn du als Lokalpolitiker angegriffen wirst und der Mob vor deinem Haus wartet kannst du noch nichtmal auf deren Hilfe hoffen. Aus der Politik kommt auch keine, weil vor allem konservative Politiker es für wichtiger halten die Grünen zur Größten Gefahr Deutschlands zu stilisieren, als Angriffe auf Poliker anderer Parteien mit zu verurteilen.

Die Medienlandschaft ist absolut zahnlos und peinlich und leistet munter Wahlkampfhilfe für die AfD. Die Berichterstattung zum Konflikt im Nahen Osten ist auch ein absolut trauriger Tiefpunkt, ich schäme mich dafür.

Die Außenpolitik ist ein Disaster. Das Deutschland einfach gemeint hat mit Russland noch weiter Verträge zu machen, auch nach 2014 als Russland einfach mal die Krim annektiert hat zum verzweifeln. Mehr noch wir machen einen Vertrag damit Russland uns durch eine Pipeline Gas liefert UND GEBEN RUSSLAND ZUGRIFF AUF UNSERE GASRESERVEN. WIE KOMMT MAN AUF SO EINE UNENDLICH DUMME IDEE (Geld.).

Gibt es irgendwelche Konsequenzen für diese Entscheidungen? Nein. Vom Wähler definitiv auch nicht, also warum aufhören.

Desinformationskampagnen haben wir auch null entgegenzusetzen. Unsere öffentlichen Institutionen haben keine vernünftige (wenn überhaupt) Abwehr gegen Hacker und so können regelmäßig Daten abgegriffen werden. Als einzige Partei weiß die AfD auf tiktok Wähler unter jungen Menschen einzufangen.

Es gibt soviel Unzufriedenheit und trotzdem schlägt sich das nicht in einer angestiegenen Beteiligung am demokratischen Prozess nieder. Keiner hat wirklich Bock auf Lokapolitik oder langweilige Sitzungen.

Dieses Land ist so langsam wie seine Menschen. Ich verzweifle daran.

Izzy Hands and Ed Teach

Izzy knows that if he cannot kill his god, his god will not want him around. Izzy takes the gun, wraps weak fingers around it, and tries to do his god proud.

But it does not work. The gun goes off, sending pain ricocheting through Izzy's skull, and his head does fall back on the pillow behind him. His god gives a soft sigh, says that he loved Izzy, best he knew how, and exits from Izzy's prison, this ninth circle of hell.

Blackbeard leaves. Izzy Hands remains, pain pounding excruciating through his forehead. He has lost his leg. He came seconds, a mere hairsbreadth difference in the placement of the gun barrel, from losing his life.

It is in this moment, as he tries to breathe through the pain, the weight of his god's condemnation, that Izzy finally understands that if a god demands that a man die but that man wishes to cling to life, he must learn how to outlive his god.

If Blackbeard condemned him to the ninth circle, then it is time for Izzy to earn his sentence.

Well, @aletterinthenameofsanity just posted a writing update and mentioned that the Dear Wormwood album was extremely Edizzy-coded so I started relistening to it (especially the songs I've never heard before, such as Dear Wormwood itself) and yep, she's really not wrong! I listened to this song and COULD NOT unsee the Edizzy of it all. As I eagerly wait for the Izzy amnesia fic, I wanted to put out another Edizzy moodboard because their toxic, religiously devoted dynamic scratches such an itch in my brain!

Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving! Y’all’s turkeys have probably digested by now, but have some more gijinka art from me.

Last year, I made a human design for Tippi, one of my absolute favorite Paper Mario partners, but looking back on it, I don’t like how the design turned out. So I wanted to redesign it. I didn’t give her a specific ethnicity and just made her look vaguely Hispanic/Latina, but with this redesign, I made her Native American as a celebration for both Native American Heritage Month and Native American Heritage Day (even though both were last month, ik I’m very late to the party 😭).

I myself don’t have one iota of Native American blood, so I had to do lots of research to make it look accurate to the tribe that her whole new look is based on while taking a few creative liberties. So I apologize to anyone who is part of the Hopi tribe or part of some other Native American tribe if Tippi’s design doesn’t look the greatest. 

However, I would love it if some of y’all would kindly comment or dm me on how I should fix my design if I somehow screwed something up. I don’t want to come off as disrespecting your culture at all, so don’t be afraid to tell me your honest opinion on it so I can learn how to improve my design.

The tribe I based Tippi’s new human design on is the Hopi Tribe. The butterfly is seen as a positive and comforting symbol within a lot of Native American tribes, and it’s very prominent within the Hopi Tribe. Since Tippi takes the form of a butterfly when she’s a Pixl throughout the entirety of Super Paper Mario, I thought it would make sense to base her on that tribe. The butterfly represents change and balance, and they have a kachina (spirit) based around it in their mythology.

The kachina is called the Polik-mana, or Butterfly Maiden. The Butterfly Maiden was one of the main inspirations for Tippi’s human redesign. According to the Hopi Tribe, the Butterfly Maiden is said to pollinate the fields and flowers and give rain to the Arizona Desert once spring rolls around. There’s even a whole traditional dance based around the kachina called the Butterfly Dance, where the young girls of the tribe basically give thanks to the Maiden for her spring dance.

Her necklace is inspired by a cute Hopi necklace I found on Google, but her earrings aren’t really inspired by anything, I kinda just made them up myself. Her dress is heavily inspired by the manta, which is a traditional knee-length garment that the women of the Hopi Tribe wear. At first, I wanted to draw her hair in squash blossom buns, which is the traditional Hopi hairstyle, but I settled on leaving her hair down to match her silhouette at the end of Super Paper Mario.

And ik this is super random, but I would also like to include a few headcanon voice actors that I think would suit the role of Tippi if Super Paper Mario was fully voice-acted like Sunshine. I kind of came up with this while digitally drawing the picture, so sorry for how random and out of place this is, I’m just currently bored out of my mind lol;

I imagine Tippi having a collected, soft-spoken, but serious-sounding voice, which is why I chose these voice actresses and some of the characters they voice as inspiration.

Az előző évben elég sokat gondolkoztam azon, hogy miért volt könnyebb régebben mindkettőnknek a nyitott kapcsolat/poliamoria. Egyértelműen azért mert régebben egy konkrét közösségből válogattunk, szóval ha a férjem összejött egy nővel, hogy ő lesz majd rajtam kívül a másik partnere, őt már régebben, legtöbbször évek óta ismertük, sokszor már haverok voltunk, már nevettünk együtt, és már lelkiztünk egy-egy házibuliban hajnaltájt. Szóval a legtöbb metamourom (a partnerem partnere), barátnőm volt korábbról, és mikor már nem jártak a férjemmel akkor is barátnők vagy haverok maradtunk. És ez fordítva is működött, a férjem is ismerte a nőket akikkel összejöttem, tudtam ki szimpi neki, kit ki nem állhat, ezt figyelembe vettem mikor választottam. Szóval volt egy nagyon informális kölcsönös rábólintás egymás partnereire. És emiatt a speciális helyzet miatt sokszor szerveztünk közös programokat pl. túra, múzeumlátogatás, hármasban vagy négyesben, sokszor egy ágyban is aludtunk, sőt voltak közös szeretőink is, akikkel logikus módon közösen szexeltünk, de olyanok is, akiket nem zavart, sőt még izgatott is, ha jelen vagyok. Szóval ez az egész polikapcsolat hiába nem éltünk sose mindnyájan együtt, ez inkább ilyen összetartó baráti közösség volt, akikkel időnként szexeltünk is. Ráadásul én elég introvertált vagyok, de így könnyebben ismerkedtem, hogy egyrészt ismertem mindenkit már egy ideje, másrészt régebbi és jelenlegi partnerek noszogattak, hogy jöjjek össze azzal, aki tetszik.

Aztán minden megváltozott, és széthullott, átalakult az egész. Ennek azért vannak előnyei, de persze hátrányai is, és néha minden hibája ellenére hiányzik a nagyobb közösség. Nagyon nagy hátránya, hogy most már nem úgy vagyunk polik, mint voltunk, ezért is hívom inkább nyitott kapcsolatnak, és hogy ez az átalakulás rögös volt és konfliktusokkal tarkított. Mert míg régebben (5-10 éve ) mindenkit ismertem és rábólintottam hogy jöhet a polihálónkba, pár éve ez megváltozott és az a helyzet állt elő, hogy a férjem tök lelkesen és szerelmesen hazahoz valakit, akibe bele van zúgva és aki nekem az első perctől kezdve enyhén ellenszenves és teljesen egyértelmű, hogy nem csak hogy nem találjuk a közös hangot, de a másik nőt is lestresszeli ez a helyzet és versengeni akar velem. Hosszútávon az lett a megoldás, hogy jobb, ha sose találkozom a metával és ez így most működik. Attól tartok, hogy a jövőben a további partnereivel is vagy jobb, ha nem találkozom, vagy majd egy rövid ismerkedős találkozó után eldöntjük, hogy jó ötlet lenne e.

Azt se tudom, hogy ő hogy fogadná az én vadiúj és általa csak akkor megismert plusz partneremet, ha lenne. Nekem most az is probléma, hogy nem tudom, hol ismerkedjem, meg hogy egyáltalán szeretnék-e ismerkedni. Mondjuk tavasszal próbálkoztam azzal, hogy OkCupidon ismerkedtem poliamor nőkkel és ez jó volt, meg tanulságos, és adott annyi önbizalmat, hogy nem csak a régi és szűk közösségünkből tudok válogatni, de végül haverokat találtam ott, aminek nagyon örülök, de szerelmet egyelőre nem.

Arra mindenképpen jó volt, hogy legalább ismerkedtem nőkkel, úgy hogy én kezdeményeztem, (régebben ez nem igazán volt jellemző), és hogy jobban belelátok, meg kapcsolódni tudok az LMBTQ közösséghez, mert régebben nem nagyon ismertem ezt a közeget, hiába voltak női szeretőim, mi elvoltunk a saját kis zárt világunkban. Volt, hogy az akkori barátnőmmel elmentünk Pride héten egy filmvetítésre és mindenki csak csodálkozott, hogy mi kik vagyunk és miért vagyunk szoknyában, de amikor látták, hogy fogjuk egymás kezét, már kedvesek voltak velünk. :) Szóval nem nagyon volt átjárás és ez is egy új világ, amit fel kell fedeznem.

Egyébként visszatérve a poliamoriára, szerintem ez most működik, és működni is fog így, csak valószeg ezzel az új és ridegebb szabályokkal, amikor nem, vagy alig ismerjük a másik partnereit. Szóval ez ilyen naptárpoliságnak ígérkezik, hogy ki mikor kinél alszik és nem annak a meghitt állapotnak mikor még egy kupacban aludtunk mindnyájan. Kicsit szomorú vagyok, hogy ez elmúlt, de valójában már mindenkinek kevesebb ideje van, nehezebb is lenne ilyen összetartó, mindenki ismeri egymást polihálót fenntartani, mint régebben.

Izzy Amnesia Fic + Playlists!

So this fic is an interesting case: I actually have two playlists to convey the different POVs of the characters. Unlike the Jim amnesia fic, the Izzy amnesia fic is told from the POVs of Izzy, Pete, and Lucius, and thus I listened to a variety of songs for both of them. Writing this fic was quite the trip- as the last OFMD fic I wrote, my hyperfixation was slipping, but I was determined to do justice to everyone's character arcs. This ended up becoming the longest one-shot I've ever written, clocking in at almost 24k, and that's because I really wanted to show every side of this relationship and the ways that the characters push and pull at each other, how Izzy goes from angry and judgmental Season 1 Izzy to willing to take a bolt to save Jim and open himself up to the husbands he only remembers as the lazy, useless pirates he knew only yesterday as well as Lucius going from fighting to get Izzy to understand to realizing that Izzy deserves to make decisions to himself, plus Pete as a stabilizing force that Izzy finds completely shocking. (Plus the relationship of Izzy to the rest of the crew, from Jim to Captain Olu to Mel to Frenchie and the like.) Also heavy Edizzy exploration as well, albeit in the unrequited, angsty form!
