I miss pole dancing so much. All the classes I’ve been to recently are trick only classes, and there isn’t the culture of freestyle dancing, or even spending much time or attention on making moves flow here that there was in most classes I did back home!! I try to sneak a little dance moment in while practicing tricks but it is a very unusual thing to do in class here so I feel quite self conscious and keep it very subdued. I guess because 90% of the classes at the studio I go to now are trick only, so people are much less accustomed to dancing! Maybe this is tied up with whorephobia and distancing pole from stripping. I was lucky to begin and mostly do pole in a sw owned and run studio. In Sydney it seems to be standard (Sydney Pole excepted) to have leveled classes include tricks + learning a routine, so you gotta learn the dancing from the get go. Which I like
